There were no warnings the power steering failed just as the previous recalls on the 2000 model Hondas did but there's no recall for this one the ABS has been affected there's no power steering and reduced engine power on and off a number of safety lights on dash the exact symptoms as described for number of Honda's before this one even the same year model but not this one 2013 Honda Accord vin [XXX] . I keep writing and promises if no one is taking notice to my complaint INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
All lights related to Tire pressure, Sterring control, Vehicle Stability Assist and ABS comes up in dash board. The ABS control module suddenly fails because of very bad design and manufacturing (just dry solderings!). Search EBAY, one can find so many offering services to repair this failed ABS control module. For replacement ot costs 3500. This looks like is common failure. Very dangerous to drive with that failed ABS control module. Why is this not in a recall yet?
ABS module failure on 2013 Honda Accord. FCW system failure, ABS failure, LDW failure along with brake light constantly on, also tire pressure sensor light on. Brakes have a softer feel when compressed. Diagnosed at independent repair shop as failure of the ABS module which is a circuit board issue with improperly soldered wire connections, something Honda should cover as the module dealer cost is about $3000 plus labor. Brake sensitivity and possible failure is a major concern and the vehicle is at only 116K miles.
Dash board lights indicated ABS system module malfunction, per Illinois Honda dealership diagnosis. ABS module failure also causes failure of forward collision warning system and lane departure warning system.
I have been having problems with many dashboard lights coming on at once. I got it checked out and I got ABS code 123 - 11 and code 81 - 20. This has been going on since the beginning of August 2025. This could lead to dangerous malfunctions, And is one of the most expensive things to repair. It is my understanding that many many vehicles between 2013 and 2017 in the Honda range I've been experiencing this to the point of where we need a recall.
To: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) I am writing to formally submit a safety complaint regarding a serious issue I have encountered with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) manifold on my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. This issue raises significant safety concerns and may warrant investigation for a potential recall. Recently, I experienced a failure in the ABS system that resulted in warning lights illuminating on the dashboard. Upon diagnostic inspection, it was confirmed that the ABS manifold (also referred to as the ABS modulator or hydraulic unit) had malfunctioned. This failure compromised the vehicle’s ability to maintain braking stability during emergency or slippery-road conditions. I understand that ABS systems are critical for preventing wheel lockup and maintaining vehicle control during braking. The failure of such a key component can severely increase the risk of a crash, especially under adverse driving conditions. Additional Concerns: This appears to be a known issue based on numerous similar complaints reported online by other 2013 - 2017 Honda owners. The cost of repair is substantial, with replacement estimates exceeding $1,500–$2,000. Despite the safety implications, Honda has not issued a recall or technical service bulletin to address this widespread problem. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this issue represents a systemic safety defect in the 2013 Honda Accord EX-L. The failure of a core safety system such as ABS warrants a thorough review to determine whether regulatory action or a manufacturer recall is appropriate. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
ABS failure
ABS (Automated Breaking System) is impacted and turns on lights on my dashboard failing the following while driving (Forward Collision Warning, Tire Pressure Light, Lane Departure Warning, Anti-skid system) It is avaliable for testing on request. Car does not stop as it is supposed to in urgent breaking due to ABS failure and puts driver and others on risk. My spouse already got in an accident due to this. Yes, after months of system failure on and off, I finally got my car inspected at a independent service center. Honda dealership costs more and are not ready to even look at it without paying, even though this seems to me a problem discussed online in many forums/sites. I called and emailed manufacturer and was turned down by requesting me to go to the Honda dealership repair which charge way more only to inspect only one issue. No other than the independent service center. Yes, there were dashboard lights of the above mentioned lights and I discussed this with Honda service team during my oil change and I was said this is driver assistance and not a safety issue. The root cause diagnosed by independent service center was ABS system.
After a driveshaft recall repair was performed on July 10, 2025, at Germain Honda of Dublin, my 2013 Honda Accord EX-L immediately began showing multiple safety system warning lights, including ABS, VSA, traction control, and check engine. These lights had never appeared prior to the repair. Diagnostic codes included: •VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction •Modulator Control Unit Power Source Circuit (IG) Low Voltage These point directly to the ABS/VSA modulator, which is located near where the driveshaft repair was done. Despite the timing, Honda has refused to cover the repair, quoting me nearly $3,000. The dealer also cleared the codes before I arrived and then claimed they were “historic” with no documentation. I’ve confirmed my battery and alternator are in good condition, ruling out the common causes of voltage errors. I believe something was disturbed or left improperly connected during the recall service, resulting in a dangerous condition involving the vehicle’s braking and stability systems. This is a potential safety risk that arose after a manufacturer-issued recall repair, and I am requesting a formal investigation into similar cases if reported.
The ABS pump/motor, ABS modulator needs to be replaced. This is a pretty common issue with the Honda Accord from 2008-2017. Fixing this problem is expensive at the dealer. I believe Honda motors should have a recall about this situation because how pricy this is. Looking online for information and videos on youtube many people have been quoted 2,800 dollars and up to replace it. I just replace the ABS sensor driver side and ABS, Brake, Steering Wheel came out. These are coming on and off. Please I would like to get some help with this situation.
ABS module will breakdown pre-maturely. Warning lights on the dashboard will come on like the ABS, VSA and parking breaks while driving. So, the ABS and VSA is not working while driving that can cause the vehicle to lock up the breaks.
VSA ABS FCW EPS warning lights, according to Honda dealership it needs a VSA ABS module, these are thousands of dollars and there’s thousands and thousands of pissed off customers. This should be warranted. It looks like honda of Europe did warranty it. I’m not sure what’s going on in honda North America. It can cause the brake pedal to go soft, and is definitely a safety hazard
Very common problem it appears as there are several forum post from other accord owners 2013 and above that have all reported dash lights up with traction control, tire pressure, power steering, ABS and some instances Brake will illuminate on the dash board, and some have reported a combination of these lights or all of them. The culprit is a broken solder on the ABS module from my understanding and its something Honda is aware of but have not recalled. The part itself costs $1500, just for the part and does not include labor. This is a common issue that should be taken care of by honda as its a huge safety issue with the ABS, Traction control, power steering, tire pressure monitoring and brake not working when needed in an emergency situation. This is a huge safety risk that needs to be addressed. It also affects the value of the vehicle if not repaired.
VSA/ABS Module has gone bad. Loss of emergency braking
MY ABS & all related braking lights on dash display pop up every now & then, on & off, & is not on permanently full time. Mechanic said it could be the module. I heard it last week on the radio about this Honda issue & said it was a safety & braking issue. I don’t see it on the recall list, but people with a 2013 Accord has many complaints about it on YouTube web & various searches. This should be a recall & what are we supposed to do about this safety defect?
I am reporting a critical safety issue with the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator in my 2013 Honda Accord Ex. The VSA modulator has failed, causing significant safety concerns, including erratic braking behavior, a complete loss of anti-lock braking (ABS) functionality, and compromised stability control. Only after avoiding near collision while driving on I5 freeway the failure illuminated various dashboard warning lights, such as the ABS light, VSA light, and brake system warning light. This failure has placed me, my passengers, and other road users at risk, especially with the stop and go traffic of rush hour. Luckily it was sunny clear weather because if there was even slight wet or slippery conditions I'm certain the harm would have been disastrous. -Known Technical Causes: Failure of internal solenoids or valves in the VSA modulator unit. Corrosion or damage to electronic components within the modulator. Malfunctioning sensors associated with the ABS and stability systems. -Repair Details: Replacement of the VSA modulator unit is often necessary. Cost of repair typically ranges between $2,000 and $3,000. Many owners report delays in repairs due to part availability. -Reports and Complaints: Numerous complaints can be found on forums, owner groups, and repair sites detailing identical failures in 2013–2017 Honda Accords. Commonly reported safety risks include increased stopping distances and difficulty maintaining control on slippery roads. Honda’s Response: Some owners report that Honda dealerships acknowledge the issue but do not offer repairs under warranty unless an extended warranty is in place. There is an already a recall for the VSA modulators for 2022 Accords. I believe this should be extended to their earlier models with the same issues.
While driving my 2013 Honda Accord sedan on the turnpike, I experienced a critical failure of the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) modulator, which was later inspected and confirmed to be malfunctioning by a Honda service technician at South Motors Honda. This component is available for inspection upon request. As I was traveling at approximately 65 mph, the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) malfunctioned, causing the brakes to lock up when I attempted to slow down for traffic ahead. This sudden loss of braking control put my safety and the safety of others at significant risk, as I nearly collided with the vehicle in front of me. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the failure, several warning lamps, including the VSA, ABS, and BRAKE lights, illuminated on the dashboard. These warning lights first appeared about a week before the incident, but I was unable to get the vehicle serviced immediately due to scheduling constraints. Additionally, the Front Collision Warning system was not functioning, which further compromised my ability to avoid a potential accident. This malfunction was particularly concerning as it failed to alert me to the rapidly approaching vehicle ahead, exacerbating the dangerous situation caused by the ABS failure.
All the safety error lights come up on dash (ABS, steering control, tire pressure, stability control) all aluminate. Initially they would only come on when vehicle sat while running for more than a few min and once parked overnight they would not come back on. Now they are on 100% of the time and never go off. There a a ton of videos out there with a faulty ANS module. Honda is selling them for like $1400 part + labor. An entire industry has started to repair them and video showing the fault in wiring showing bad soldering joints where very thin wire is attached. My car has 95,500 miles on it.
Excessive Engine oil consumption 2-3 quarts between 5000 to 6000 oil changes. ABS Module failure causing all safety feature not working.
hello I'm wondering why this is not a concern for a safety recall. VSA Module. the VSA module systems seems to be a problem from 2012 all the way to 2017 model Hondas. this module effects powersteering. ABS. tire pressure and traction control. it seems that this is a global problem and their are countrys that have done a recall on this VSA Module. on Honda accord sedans.
vsa failure associate with fcw, ldw, vsa, tmps and eps warning light. the cause is vsa modular
When my 2013 Accord was around 80,000 miles my dashboard lit up with "Forward Collison Warning System Failure." The following lights are also on, LDW, Power Steering, TPMS, Traction Control. I took my car to a mechanic and was told I needed a new VSA/ ABS Brake Control Module. I was told this is a common problem for Hondas and is dangerous as it disables traction control and could affect braking as well. The mechanic and a honda dealer quoted me $3,200 for this repair.
1. Faulty vehicle stability assistance (VSA) and antilock braking system (ABS) Module. Common issue and reported by thousands of Accord Owners, Other models of same Honda generation have been recalled for same exact issue. Vehicle is available for inspection on request. 2. Faulty VSA module poses increased risk of “loss-of-traction” events that could result to injury or death on roads. Faulty ABS module poses a severe detriment to the braking system of a the vehicle, in some cases rendering the brake pedal unresponsive or locking the brakes, in turn increasing the risk of losing control of the vehicle that could result in injury or death. 3. Yes, multiple mechanics have diagnosed the vehicle and came to the same conclusion that it is a faulty VSA/ABS module. 4. No, manufacturer, police or insurance reps have not investigated. 5. Yes this issue is known to trigger every warning light on the dashboard to turn on at once. That is what happened on my vehicle.
Car started to show FWC lights, LDW lights, steering warning, Traction control. Inspected by two mechanics and say the codes come back to ABS module defect.
Component VSA ANTI LOCK ABS PUMP MODULATOR 57110-T2F-A1 malfunction. Circuit board wiring inside of modulator has loose/dismantled wires causing complete failure of ABS system for vehicle. This is a widely know problem amongst 9th generation Honda Accords and Honda has yet to issue a recall here in the United States.
All the lights on my dash came on associated with the abs module fail.. it also affected my alternator as i believe the car is working to hard. The barks are weird the car drives sluggish. My lights cone on and off.. when they are off the car drives just fine. Many accords have this issue and no parts can be found. Something is not right
Apparentlhy, many VSA Modulator Contol Unit on the ABS on the Honda accords from 2013-2017 have failures right now. My car has the same issue. Took it to the dealership and the guy working there even said this should be a recall. A lot of the honda accords have been having this same issue. All the warning lights on the dash light up and its because of the bad ABS module going bad. I really think honda should take responsibility on this. It is costing me approximately $3000 to fix at the dealership since they have to make connections and bleed all brakes during swap. A number of YouTube videos point to the hair thin connector to card connections as the failure point.
The VSA Modulator on the 2013 Ex-L manual transmission has failed. It illuminated 7 lights. Steering light, abs, FCW, BRAKE, ABS, LDW, Traction Control. The abs modulator internally shuts off all systems within this car. The car is not able to pass inspection because of safety issues. After looking for a used part, i realized there were many complaints on this particular make and model. I am scared to drive the car with these issues, and with 1000s of cars having the same issue with the same part, i would think Honda would correct the issue without spending $1,000’s. There were no symptoms prior. It seems that the internal soldering on the VSA modulator has been coming apart, shutting down the system.
The ABS/VSA Module failure: Tire pressure, traction control, steering, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) dash lights come on; the vehicle is available for inspection upon request, pending recall or private repair. The safety of the driver, passengers, and outside parties is at risk in case of brake failure or brake locking in a situation where the LDW or FCW has failed to alert the driver of a pending collision. The dealer conducted a diagnostic service on the morning of 07/01/2024 indicating ABS Module and Brake Flush, codes 81.19 and 81.20, with a repair cost of $2,385.49 for the ABS Module part and labor of 4.95 ($3335.49) and Brake Flush labor of .8 ($179.95) for a total cost of $3,575.44. The vehicle or parts have not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or others, although Galpin Honda performed the above diagnostic. The vehicle dashboard lights mentioned above come on shortly after driving the vehicle at times, with the lights alternating between on and off at any given start-up—they can light up or be off at start-up/drive-off.
The ABS on the honda accords from 2013-2017 all have failures right now. My car and my friends car has the same issue. Took it to the dealership and the guy working there even said this should be a recall. Alot of the honda accords have been having this same issue. All the warning lights on the dash light up and its because of the bad ABS module going bad. I realy think honda should take responsibility on this. It is costing me $3,318 to fix it.
2013 Honda Accord accelerated to a very high speed when driving from the church parking lot, braking did not stop it. barely avoided hitting a car. On Sunday [XXX] at around 13:45pm, as I was leaving the church parking lot, driving at around 5 miles an hour, the car suddenly accelerated to a very high speed, I tried braking but that did not stop it. The car entered and crossed the street, barely missed hitting a car, then entered the parking lot of a dollar store, finally stopping on the far side of the parking lot. No one was injured and no damage occurred. Triple A was called immediately. had car towed to dealership (Neil Huffman Honda, 1607 Greentree Boulevard, Clarksville, Indiana 47129. Car was at the dealership for two days, the car was driven, and an extensive examination was done, but they could not duplicate the concern and did not find any problems with the vehicle. When this episode occurred, there was no prior warning and the action of the vehicle was extremely fast. This was absolutely scary. Please let it be known to the Honda Manufacturer that the car is defective, this defect needs to be fixed as soon as possible, before someone or multiple people are seriously injured or killed, or extensive property damage is done. Several Dashboard lights came on. Electric Steering ,Tire Pressure Sensor, Traction Control, ABS, Brake lights. Paid 300 dollar diagnostic fee for Honda dealer to tell me this is a known issue on Hondas and would cost 3,000 dollars to repair. Final verdict, ABS module needs replacement. Also seems to be causing issues with the transmission shift points due to the Vehicle speed sensor having an error with code P-0717 input shaft speed error. Upon doing research, the mother board connections from connector to the motherboard are very thin and lose connection over time causing safety issues since it's unknown if the ABS is working correctly with the fault lights on, also the tire pressure is not currently monitored correctly due to the light is always on among other monitored systems that have lights illuminated on the dashboard.
The ABS Module has failed. The repair is almost 3,000 from Honda. The car is not safe once it reachers 80mph the vehicle loses control.
ABS Contol Module Failure. Error code 81-19. Ther is a major defect with the modules failing from 2013 through 2017 Hondas. There are so many failing that there are no parts in the market and the part cost around $1600. this is a safety concern as abs breaks can lock up.
This FCW Failure appears to be a common issue for the Honda Accord. The Honda declaration is claiming that it is the ABS Module that is causing this issue. Several posts are on the internet concerning this safety issue in these vehicles.
The contact owns a 2013 Honda Accord. The contact stated that there was a vibrating rumbling sound while starting the vehicle. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact related the failure to NHTSA ID Number: 10088442 (Electrical System) however, the vehicle was not included. The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000.
Mileage: 140,000
The ABS module on the vehicle has failed. After searching for the issue online, I have discovered that this is a common problem with several years of Hondas but there has not been a recall of this defective piece of equipment.
I have had car serviced faithfully since ownership in 2013. Last visit to dealer I was informed that the VSA modulator control unit has malfunctioned. It’s very concerning that there has not been a recall on this since it impacts brakes, tires, steering. I am requesting a replacement of this modulator at no charge.
ABS control module went out, causing all of my dash lights to turn off and on intermittently. On top of that, car isn’t braking properly.
The ABS Module has failed on my 2013 Honda Accord LX. The ABS system may not function properly in reducing braking distances and could cause the car to slide in wet or slippery conditions increasing the chances of a collision or loss of vehicular control while driving. The car was taken to a Honda Specialist and upon inspection, the vehicle was diagnosed to have a faulty ABS module. The quoted repair was in excess of $2000 USD. The ABS, Power Steering, TPMS Check Tire, Traction Control warning lights are all ON indicating an issue with aforementioned faulty ABS Module. The warning lights all appeared simultaneously in February, 2023. Diagnostics were run and all error codes indicated a faulty ABS (VCS) module
Vsa module failure. Anti lock brakes will not work unless repaired. Honda dealer quoted repair over 2500.00 dollars. Know issue of poor quality design and use of inferior parts to make module failure imminent.
The car accelerates when I’m trying to brake.
Mileage: 105,329
ABS solenoid valve malfunction. VSA solenoid malfunction
VSA Modulator is faulty causing the ABS system to fail. Honda dealerships are telling customers it is safe to drive
My vehicle currently has the TPMS, VSA(Stabilty/ABS),Electric Power Steering, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Warning lights are on. I brought my vehicle to a local Tire Discounters. They scanned for the codes and it brought up the VSA Modulator (aka ABS Module) malfunction. I researched through forums and it is a common issue with Honda ABS module. The VSA/ABS module has to be replaced due to electrical issues within the module. This could lead to a crash/injury.
Antilock brake system module failure/solenoid causing multiple engine light failure and transmission
ABS Modulator Failed
The ABS Module Failure All of the dashboard light are on due the a Faulty ABS Module, YouTube and other Honda forums reported the same problems. The ABS Module is poorly designed The connectors are very thin and they break apart with the vehicle vibration, the Abs dashboard light, Steering control dashboard light, Traction control dashboard light,TPMS dashboard light all are in the ABS Module control unit. Honda need to Issue a Recall for the abs Module failing after 35k miles of its vehicles its a safety issue and it should be dressed. Thank You
The ABS Module has failed. I am receiving warning lights on my dash which caused me to pull off the road. After online research, I discovered this is a common problem with this make/model. So much so, that there is a national backorder for this part. My mechanic says that I can drive the car and the ABS system will not work in the event that I might need it. Online forums tell me that the system might activate and cause the brakes to lock up. This seems very unsafe to me and a widespread problem that Honda should address.
My dashboard is lit up like a christmas tree. Went to dealer who found the ABS control module went out. The nation is out of this part as it is a common problem. There are several articles on the web that discuss how these have gone out and there is no where to buy the part and is not recalled yet. ABS system will not engage without this which is extremely unsafe. Apparently this is effecting 2013-2107 accords.
ABS, BRAKE, TCS and PSC lights illuminated indicative of VSC Modulator failure at 122,000 miles. Dealer stated part needs replacement. Too many issues on this issue to not be addressed by Honda.
All dash lights come on. Fcw system failure. Abs/vsa module failed is what me and a lot of other people with the same car, have the same issues. Abs brake module to replace is $1100 and on backorder and alot of people can't drive there cars, some have had issues that almost caused accidents, mine seems to run fine for now, just started happening. Honda needs to do something about this, way to many people have this problem and Honda should be way more reliable and helpful for this common failure.
The ABS Modulator Assembly VSA for my Honda Accord LX-S Coupe is failing. My dashboard has several lights on the dash indicating an issue with ABS system. A mechanic (Russell & Smith Honda) in Houston, TX inspected my car on Wednesday, June 7 and indicated that the ABS system needs to be replaced. The ABS Modulator needs to be recalled because the wiring inside the modulator is incredibly thin. This is the only module that is failing and has this type of wiring thus creating a broken circuit. Honda should have instead created a circuit board with thicker wiring and act as a connector itself. Honda should be held responsible to creating a safer ABS modulator. This is a major safety concern as it affects thousands of people owning this vehicle and increases the likelihood of a brake malfunction. This can cause accidents and it is a costly fix for consumers. I am requesting a recall on this part.
No accident to report. Just feel the VSA brake modulator part should be a Honda recall. Mine has failed… and I see online that the connector wires are too thin, and this VSA brake modulator is a widespread problem in Honda Accords from 2012-17. All the dashboard warning lights kick on. Anti skid, FCW, ABS!
For no known reason numerous warning lights appeared on dashboard (steering, LDW, FCW failure, brakes, low tire pressure). Power steering completely stopped working. It appears ABS, lane departure warning and forward collision warning systems all stopped working. Glad this happened to me and not my wife. It is her car. Dangerous as heck!
Abs light, steering, tire pressure and traction light came on while I was parked the dash just lit up when I went to the mechanic he said the same car between 13-16 he has gotten 12 different complaints since week only when checked all came up as faulty abs module.
Since 2022 I have been having Abs brake modulator problem. Dealer said it will cost $1700. I have noticed 80% of Honda customers have complained about this to Honda manufacturer but they are refusing to fix it.
The ABS Modulator has failed. It is available for inspection for $120 at the dealer which does not go towards the repair. I went to an independent shop and was told that they can't figure out the problem because of the complex computer system in Hondas. I then had it inspected at Honda and was told I need to replace the modulator for $1650 parts and labor. The ABS system including the front collision warning and lane departure warning are no longer reliable. If I put off the repair I am at risk of the antilock brake system failing and the brakes locking up, the stability and traction control not working, and the brake pedal may become unresponsive over time. There are 5 warning lights that come on intermittently. This has been happening for the last year. This is a defective part and an ongoing problem for 2013-2015 Honda owners with many forums discussing the issue. It can occur with any amount of mileage on the car so that doesn't seem to be a factor.
ABS Control Module failure at 174712 Diagnosed and replaced by licensed independent service center. Cost $450.00 Power Steering failure at 188,000. Still with independent service center. Estimated repair cost $900.00 Earlier engine replacement required as well with no warning, proper maintenance
All Light came on ABS BRAKE TRACTION
The ABS Module has failed on this car. Upon a lot of research, I have found that a lot of people are stating they have had this same issue with their honda accords within a few years before and after. This is a $1700 fix from Honda that most people are not going to be able to afford and a lot of people are having problems with..... the part is also on a nationwide backorder which to me seems like they have surely had to replace a lot of them..... I believe that this should be investigated for a recall. I spoke with someone at Honda and they also agreed that this should be looked at for a recall. This could be very dangerous to have failing ABS systems on vehicles. Research on forums where people discuss this will show that this is a common problem and a recall should be considered.
The ABS module went out. The vehicle has 80k original miles and less than 10yrs old. I had to spend over $1200 to get it fixed. This a safety issue and definitely needs to have a recall.
Intermittent activation of vehicle stability assist, electrical power steering, and tire pressure monitoring system lights. Diagnosed as yaw rate sensor failure requiring replacement of anti-lock braking system modulator.

FCW SYSTEM FAILED, ABS, TPS MESSAGE POPPED UP OUT OF THE BLUE. I BRAKED AND THE CAR SPOED UP, I HAD TO PULL UP MY EMERGENCY BRAKES, AND ALMOST REAR ENDED ANOTHER CAR WITH INFANT BECAUSE OF THIS. TOOK THE CAR TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WITH 18 CERTS. THE BRAKE LINES, FLUID, ROTORS, FLUID WERE PERFECT. NO LEAKS, THE MESSAGE IS STILL UP.HE CANNOT PULL UP ANY CODES. I AM TAKING A SCREENSHOT OF THIS STATEMENT WITH TODAYS FRONT PAGE PAPER INDICATING THE DATE I AM SENDING THIS TO YOU. PLEASE SEND OUT AN EMERGENCY ALERT SO OTHER HONDA DRIVERS DO NOT HAVE TO USE THEIR EMERGENCY BRAKE AND POSSIBLY KILLING AN INFANT OR OTHER PASSENGERS WHEN THEIR BRAKES FAIL.

CAR STALLS GOING THRU INTERSECTIONS WHICH I COMPLAINED ABOUT WHEN I BOUGHT IT IN FT .MYERS IN 2013. I HAVE PAPERWORK THAT SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT HOWEVER, THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES OVER THE YEARS. SO FAR, I AM LUCKY NOT TO BE HIT! BRAKES LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING ON 7/15/19 , I STARTED TO TURN INTO A DRIVEWAY AND THE BRAKES LOCKED AND I HAD TO VEER ONTO THEIR LAWN ON AN EMBANKMENT, RAN OVER A CEMENT PARKING BLOCK AND THROW IT INTO PARK AND TURN IT OFF IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR FROM HITTING ANYONE! THE CAR WAS TOWED FROM PROSPECT AVE AND BRADY STREET IN MILWAUKEE WI. RUSS DARROW HONDA RAN A SAFETY CHECK AND SAID IT WAS FINE. I THINK THEY SHOULD CHECK THE VSA MODULATOR. ABRA AUTO REPAIR IN GLENDALE HAD IT TOWED AND SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT AND SENT IT TO RUSS DARROW HONDA. CLEARLY, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH IT! I HAVE A FL DRIVERS LICENSE AND I AM IN WI NOW FOR THE SUMMER, WHICH IS WHERE THIS HAPPENED. I HAVE PICTURES BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD THEM TO YOUR SITE?

IN EARLY 2019, AFTER MY HONDA DEALER REPLACED MY VEHICLE'S WATER PUMP, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE ON MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD. SOMETIMES, MY CAR STARTS RIGHT AWAY. BUT MORE OFTEN, IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS BEFORE MY CAR WILL START USING THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE. WHEN REPEATED ATTEMPTS ARE NECESSARY TO START MY CAR, I HEAR A 'CLICKING' TYPE NOISE WHEN I PRESS THE START BUTTON, BUT MY CAR DOES NOT TURN OVER. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS PUSHING THE 'START' BUTTON, MY CAR EVENTUALLY STARTS (SOMETIMES AFTER A FEW SECONDS AND A FEW ATTEMPTS, SOMETIMES AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS AND TWO OR THREE MINUTES). THE PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY, WHEN THE CAR IS COLD AND WARM. I NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM UNTIL HONDA REPLACED THE WATER PUMP ON MY CAR EARLIER THIS YEAR. BASED ON OTHER WEB POSTS, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE IN 2013 HONDA ACCORDS. ONCE MY CAR STARTS, IT RUNS WELL. AT THIS PRESENT TIME, I HAVE NO OTHER MECHANICAL PROBLEMS OTHER THAN THE PUSH BUTTON START FEATURE. HOWEVER, MY CAR'S FAILURE TO START IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN ITSELF IF A CAR FAILS TO START IN A SITUATION WHERE A QUICK GET AWAY IS NECESSARY (FOR EXAMPLE, FLOOD, WILD FIRE, OR OTHER NATURAL OR OTHER DISASTER THAT MAY REQUIRE THAT MY CAR START WITHOUT DELAY).

I HAD PULLED INTO A PARKING STOP AND STOPPED. I WAS ABOUT TO REVERSE TO PARK STRAIGHT WHEN MY CAR SHOT FORWARD. THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING AND THE CAR ACCELERATED FORWARD UNTIL IT WAS STOPPED BY A BRICK COLUMN. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT IN FRONT OF A RETAIL STRIP CENTER.

CAR WAS IN DRIVE OF HOME, STARTED CAR AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS STAYED ON. WOULD NOT CLEAR. DROVE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP, BRAKES WERE BARLEY OPERABLE, CAR WAS SLUGGISH AND POWER STEERING ALMOST NON-EXISTENT. COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. DEALERSHIP FIRST REPLACED THE BATTERY, CLEARING THE CODES FOR A FEW MINUTES, THE NEXT DAY THEY ARE REPLACING A BAD VSA MODULE THAT CONTROL THE ABS AND OTHER SAFETY FUNCTIONS OF THE CAR. THE ACCORD ONLY HAS 67K MILES AND THESE SENSORS ARE 1700 PLUS DOLLARS. RESEARCHING, I HAVE FOUND A GREAT DEAL OF THESE FAILING -USUALLY WHEN THE HONDA IS IN MOTION. I WAS FORTUNATE MINE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME.

WHILE PARKING, BUT STOPPED, THE CAR SPED OUT OF CONTROL. FOOT BRAKE AND HAND BRAKE FAILED TO STOP THE SPEEDING CAR. IT LEAPED OVER A CURB AND INTO A RETENTION POND. THE DOORS REFUSED TO UNLOCK. DRIVER AND PASSENGER ESCAPED THRU WINDOWS AND ONTO THE ROOF. PREVIOUSLY, THE UNATTENDED CAR HAD LOCKED ITSELF AND WINDOWS AND SUNROOF HAD OPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE TWO FOBS WERE ON CUP HOOKS IN THE HOUSE. HONDA SHOWS NO INTEREST.

PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR. REPLACED FRONT ROTORS AND FRONT PADS LAST YEAR DUE TO VIBRATION ALONG WITH REAR PADS. AROUND JUNE 2015 WITH 55,000 MILES ON CAR. THEN THE REAR CALIPER SEIZED UP ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN MARCH 2016, 70245 MILES. REAR ROTORS RESURFACED AND PADS REPLACED. NOW I JUST HAD SERVICE DONE BECAUSE REAR DRIVER SIDE CALIPER SEIZED UP. THEY ALSO DID FRONT ROTORS AND PADS DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR. MILEAGE 79000.

SINCE PURCHASED NEW IN 2013 THE BRAKES MAKE A LOUD ROARING SOUND WHEN APPLIED AT HIGH SPEEDS ( 55- 70) MPH. THE FASTER THAT YOU'RE DRIVING WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE LOUDER THE ROAR. ROAR HAPPENS EVERY TIME THAT BRAKES ARE APPLIED.
Mileage: 45,000
THERE'S A LOT OF VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY. ALSO THERE IS A LEAK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, YOU CAN HEAR THE WIND LIKE IT'S NOT COMPLETELY SEALED.

I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES AFTER PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE. THERE ARE 35,000 MILES ON THE CAR, AND THIS IS MY 3RD SET OF BRAKES, AND SECOND SET OF ROTORS TO BE REPLACED. I'VE BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE ISSUE LOOKED AT, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. I BROUGHT IT INTO A LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE CENTER FOR A SECOND LOOK, AS THE BRAKES WERE GRINDING, AND FELT LIKE WOBBLING WHEN SLOWING. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKES AND THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT ROTOR. THERE WAS A LITTLE WOBBLING AND SQUEALING AFTER THE REPAIR, BUT THE GRINDING STOPPED. I BROUGHT IT UP TO THE MECHANIC, AND HE SAID IT WAS EXPECTED FROM NEW BRAKES. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP 6 MONTHS LATER BECAUSE THE WOBBLING STARTED GETTING WORSE, AND THE GRINDING STARTED AGAIN. THIS TIME, THE BRAKES WERE WORN COMPLETELY ON BOTH SIDES IN THE FRONT, AND THE ROTORS WERE GOUGED.
ON 07/04/2015 I WAS COMING OUT OF MY GARAGE AS I MADE TURN I HIT MY BREAK TO SLOW DOWN...BUT MY BREAK WOULDN'T WORK...I PRESSED THE BREAK HARD REPEATEDLY. ..BUT BREAK PEDAL WAS GOING ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR...CAR WOUDNT STOP AND AUTOMATICALLY ACCELERATED. ..I PREPARED MYSELF FOR CRASH ON THE WALL SO I CAN STOP THE CAR...BUT FORTUNATELY BRAKE RE ENGAGED AFTER REPEATEDLY PRESSING IT. IF I WAS ON FREEWAY I DONT KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. ..BIG SAFETY HAZARD.

PRIOR TO ACTIVATING THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE BRAKES OPERATED NORMALLY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

DRIVING ON A BUSY S.E. STREET IN WASHINGTON DC, DRIVING ABOUT 20 TO 30 MPH., HEARD A NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A TIRE BLOWING OUT OR SOME OTHER TYPE OF NOISE EMANATING FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I TRIED TO PRESS THE BRAKE, BUT INSTEAD THE CAR ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT STOP. IT SPED UP AT LEAST ANOTHER 15 TO 20 MORE MPH, AND AGAIN, WOULD NOT STOP. THERE WERE VEHICLES IN THE BACK, SO I COULD NOT USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR SHUT THE CAR OFF. THERE WERE ALSO VEHICLES ON THE SIDE AND IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO MAKE A DECISION ON HOW TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN WITHOUT HITTING ANY PEDESTRIANS OR ANY OTHER VEHICLES. DECIDED TO TRY AND STOP THE CAR BY HITTING SOMETHING STATIONARY AND RAN INTO A SET OF STEPS THAT BELONGED TO AN OFFICE BUILDING. AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND TWO PASSERSBY STOPPED TO ASSIST ME AND MY PASSENGER OUT OF THE CAR. WE WERE BOTH TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO A HOSPITAL WITH SUBSTANTIAL INJURIES TO THE CHEST, RIB, NECK AND BACK FOR MYSELF AND THE PASSENGER. *TR

BEFORE MY CAR WAS A YEAR OLD, MY BRAKES STARTED SPORADIC SQUEAKING. ON THE FIRST VISIT, I WAS TOLD A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. ON THE SECOND VISIT, I WAS TOLD THE NEXT STEP WAS CUTTING INTO ROTORS. ON THE THIRD VISIT, I WAS TOLD MY ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. THE FOLLOWING DAY, AFTER THE THIRD VISIT, MY BREAKS CONTINUED TO MAKE NOISE. I REACHED OUT TO CORPORATE, WHO ADVISED I HAD TO GO THRU OTHER CHANNELS (BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP) BEFORE I CAN FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THEM. I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED DUE TO MULTIPLE VISITS TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND MY ISSUE IS NOT GETTING FIXED. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND IN A BRAND NEW CAR AND MY BRAKES ARE SQUEAKING. I AM PAYING TOO MUCH MONEY FOR THIS PROBLEM; IN WHICH THE SERVICE DEPT/ DEALERSHIP IS GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND. *TR

WHILE DRIVING TO CHICAGO (2 HOURS AWAY) WITH MY WIFE AND 11 YEAR OLD MY MAINTENANCE MINDER LIGHT CAME ON TO TELL ME IT WAS TIME TO GET AN OIL CHANGE. SINCE IT WAS A SUNDAY I COULDN'T TAKE IT IN. I COULDN'T MAKE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL 7/16 TO GET IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE. ON 7/16 I SAT IN MY CAR TO GO HOME, BUT MY DASH LIGHTS WERE ALL LIT UP. BRAKES, ELECTRIC STEERING, ABS, CHECK ENGINE, MY SPEEDOMETER WASN'T WORKING AND MANY MORE LIGHTS REMAINED ON. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT OVER TO THEM ALTHOUGH I HEARD A GRINDING SOUND, MY BRAKES WERE SOFT AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY STIFF. I WENT VERY SLOW SINCE MY SPEEDOMETER OR MILEAGE WASN'T WORKING AT ALL. THE NEXT MORNING MY DEALER CALLED AND CLAIMED THAT A RODENT WAS THE CULPRIT WHO CHEWED ON SOME MAIN WIRING HARNESS OF THE ENTIRE CAR. I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE BECAUSE WHY DIDN'T IT HAPPEN AFTER THE OIL LIGHT CAME 2 DAYS BEFORE? WHY DIDN'T MY WIFE'S SUV GET AFFECTED BY THIS? THIS IS A HUGE QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE THAT HONDA NEEDS TO FIX. WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF ALL OF THESE LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY FAMILY ON THE HIGHWAY? *TR

I RECENTLY HAD A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD REGARDING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT A GARDEN NURSERY I APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT THEY DID NOT RESPOND IN ANYWAY, THE ENGINE THEN REVVED UP MAKING A LOUD NOISE, THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD OVER SEVERAL RAILROAD TIE BARRIERS, BUSHES, HIT A TRUCK THAT WAS PARKED IN THE LOT AND CAME TO REST IN A MULCH PILE. LUCKILY THE TRUCK AND MULCH STOPPED THE CAR AND I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO PARK AND TURN IT OFF. THERE IS CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO THE SIDE OF MY CAR AND THE PROPERTY OF THE NURSERY. THIS HAPPENED ON MAY 8, 2014 AT 5:00 PM. IT WAS A GRAVEL PARKING LOT, DRY SUNNY DAY. THIS HONDA WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2013 AND IS A 4CYL WITH CVT TRANSMISSION AND HAS APPROXIMATELY 13,000 MILES. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT SITS NOW WAITING FOR A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. IT WAS A BLESSING THAT NO ONE WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF MY CAR. MUCH OF MY DECISION TO PURCHASE A HONDA WAS BECAUSE OF RELIABILITY AND SAFETY; HOWEVER, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS MY FIRST HONDA AND I AM THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED AND ALARMED AFTER THIS INCIDENT. *TR

AT 11:00 A.M. ON NOV.6 I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 HONDA ACCORD. I PULLED INTO A STORE PARKING AREA AT ABOUT 5 MILES PER HOUR. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND TURNED TO ENTER THE PARKING SPACE WHEN MY CAR ACCELERATED WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I HEARD THE CAR REV-UP AND PUSHED ON THE BRAKE MORE. THE REVVING STOPPED, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD SLOWLY. THE CAR MOVED OVER THE PARKING BARRIER AND HEADED FOR THE STORE WALL. IT BROKE THROUGH THE STORE WALL AND I PUSHED THE TRANSMISSION INTO PARK AND PUSHED THE BUTTON TO TURN THE CAR OFF. THE CAR STOPPED IMMEDIATELY. I WAS NOT HURT AND LEFT THE CAR TO LET THE OWNER OF THE STORE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. MY CAR HAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE OR A REMEDY. WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKE WHILE SLOWING DOWN FROM 20+ MPH TO COME TO A STOP THERE IS A NOTICEABLE JERK BEFORE THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME WHEN I NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR SIGNAL. IT FEELS AS IF THE ROTOR IS WARPED WHEN IT WANTS TO STOP THEN SUDDENLY JERKS FORWARD AS IF SOMETHING RELEASES. THIS IS PROBABLY A TRANSMISSION ISSUE WHICH HONDA NEEDS TO ADDRESS. *TR

I OWN A 2013 HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6 WITH 7520 MILES ON HIT. I APPROACHED MY GATED COMMUNITY ON FRIDAY EVENING, JUNE 28, 2013 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:45PM, HIT THE REMOTE TO OPEN THE GATES, PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THERE WAS NO BRAKE REACTION WHATSOEVER. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD. FORTUNATELY, THE GATE OPENED BEFORE I HIT IT. I CONTINUED TO MY HOME, CHECKING THE BRAKES AND THEY APPEARED TO WORK, OPENED UP THE GARAGE AND WAS PUTTING THE CAR IN THE GARAGE WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND AGAIN THE CAR'S BRAKES HAD NO REACTION AND I HIT THE WALL AND DOOR LEADING INTO MY HOUSE. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND NO RAIN. FORTUNATELY, THE CAR HAS MINIMAL DAMAGE; HOWEVER, THE HOUSE HAS SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE AND LOCK MY KITCHEN DOOR LEADING FROM THE GARAGE INTO THE HOUSE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM, AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR ALONG WITH PREVIOUS YEARS. *TR

DURING BRAKING, AS YOU ARE GETTING CLOSE TO STOPPING THE CAR, I FEEL LITTLE JERK BEFORE THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPS. THIS JERK IS LIKE COUPLE OF TIMES AND CAN BE REPEATED. THIS PROBABLY DUE TO IMPROPER ABS SYSTEM. IF YOU MOVE TO NEUTRAL AND THEN BRAKE, THIS ISSUE IS NON-EXISTENT. I SUSPECT SOME ELECTRONIC ASPECT WITH MECHANICAL BRAKES CREATING THIS JERK. *TR
