While driving the car at approx 45mph on a busy roadway the vehicle suddenly accelerated heavily I tried applying the breaks but the pedal did not go down and had no affect of slowing the vehicle. I was forced to swerve around several vehicles to avoid a collision then just as suddenly the car returned to normal operation. The duration on the incident was approx 5 to 10 seconds. Very dangerous and very scary.

I own a 2014 Honda Accord with the 2.4L engine, which has a well-documented oil consumption defect. Recently, I discovered that my engine was nearly dry and required approximately 60 ounces of oil just to bring the dipstick reading to the midpoint between the “low” and “full” marks. The car had been idling roughly at cold start, and the check engine light flickered briefly, which I now understand was due to oil starvation. This condition creates a serious safety hazard because sudden oil loss can lead to engine misfires, stalling, loss of power while driving, and potential damage to the catalytic converter. This is not an isolated incident — thousands of Accord owners from the same model years have reported excessive oil consumption, and Honda has issued technical service bulletins acknowledging the defect. Despite this, no recall has been issued and many affected owners are left to continually top off oil or risk engine damage. I believe this should be investigated as a widespread safety defect, as many drivers may not realize their cars are burning oil until the engine is dangerously low.
Just last week my engine started making a rattling sound from the bottom of the engine. This Honda has been properly maintained at the dealership and never gave any warning signs or symptoms. Now my mechanic says its the crankshaft and bearings. The check engine light turned on and the code was P0300.
I am a huge Honda fan and I’ve only owned Accords and I have friends with the same body style Accord as mine. Every last one of us have failed or malfunctioning ABS modules as well as continuous catalytic converter issues. I have exhausted my bank account and the issue still presents itself. Due to the failure of the converter, my car is now stalling only when the AC is running in the vehicle. I feel these issues are common and a true safety do driving due to stalling and ABS braking malfunctions.
I have a 2014 Honda Accord EX-L with not even 62,000 miles. When we purchased the car we got the extended warranty, thinking Honda would stand by their product. Not true. After the first month we had to have the battery replaced. Fast forward a few years and we were told we needed a new battery”wire harness” at a cost of over $2,000. Now it is 2025 and the backup camera only works when the turn signal is used; it remains a black screen when put into reverse. Add to that what is apparently a major problem with other Honda owners. When we go to start the car, we get nothing. The CAR DOESN’T START. Thinking that the key fob needed a battery, we replaced them with new batteries. It continues to be a problem. I have a fear I will be out one day and it will not start completely. I see that I am not the only person complaining of this and feel that Honda should issue a recall for the Accord addressing this problem. I feel that I may become stranded one day and this seems to be a SAFETY ISSUE.
Was driving to work on April 11,2025. Engine stopped working after stopping at red light, all lights on dash came on-causing me to have to push the car from a main road into a business in order to not impede traffic or get hit. Had to have it towed to a body shop. Waiting to see what is wrong with the car, will update with more information as I have it.

Excessive oil consumption. I have 110,000 on my vehicle. Every 1000 miles I need to add 1 quart of oil. My vehicle is not leaking oil. This matter is very a common problem, well-documented issue for this Honda engine. Honda will not respond to my complaint.

My 2014 Honda has been have 2 major issues over the life of the vehicle. 1. VTC Actuator - prior to the oil indicator light coming on and the time to change the oil, my car screams out a loud consistent noise. I have reported this concern to Team Honda in Baton Rouge on numerous occasions. The most recent repost was on [XXX]. I am concerned my engine will fail or explode. 2. Tires Light Indicator (See Pictures) My tires were check on [XXX] and I spent almost $300 on a new tire. The same light which were on on that day came back on. All 4 of my tires were checked out and 3 out of 4 of them were in good condition. This has also been an ongoing issue. The tire light random come on, then the other 5 (all related) flashed an the dashboard. My first time experiencing this was less than a month after getting my vehicle but the tires was still covered under warranty at that time. By these lights coming on during non-emergencies, the consumer can not identify when the vehicle actually needed to be serviced. Both has been ongoing and reported for years and fed up with these issues. I am surprised they have not issued a recall yet! After a cold start, when trying to accelerate to merge onto street the engine dies. Also sometimes engine or transmission jerks when speeding up or slowing down after letting off of gas or brakes.
I purchased this vehicle in January 2024. I've had to change the oils three times since then. This car is using an extreme amount of oil and it's not leaking anywhere. Today one month from my last oil change the car said it had a 30 percent oil life. I scheduled an appointment for this Tuesday but when my husband got home from work he said it sounded terrible. So this morning I get up and take it to my local Walmart for a full synthetic oil change and guess what? There was NO OIL in the car. 30 days after the last oil change and there is absolutely no oil in this car. Where is it going? After reading several sites I see this is a VERY common problem in this model year. The car hasn't even been driven 3000 miles in a month and it's out of oil? What am I suppose to do?
On [XXX] just after dark I picked up the car at Detroit at the motel airport parking and proceeded north on [XXX] to [XXX] when I noticed the red battery signal on the dash. A warning notice said Check charging system. By the time I reached [XXX] the dash lights and power steering went out as well as all the lights and emergency flashers. I coasted up the ramp and through a red light and the car stopped blocking South bound [XXX] . I called 911 they got me a tow to Fisher Honda in Ypsilanti Mi. The failure of a Alternator was the cause . We were unable to warn other cars and protect our car. We were lucky. I got the transmission problem in my car. When I was in traffic, and try to accelerate, the car started jerking multiple times. This car suddenly jumps/jerks when I try to accelerate in the slope.
1. Starting System I have had trouble starting with the push button for about 3 weeks. It sometimes would take several tries before turning over. Most times, it would start in 1 – 2 attempts. It was worse this last week. I had to try more often, especially on Thursday night. I did not drive at all on Friday. On Saturday 7/1/23, I drove to the pharmacy less than < 1 mile. it did not start after dozens of tries after shopping. I walked home. Later, I had other errands taking our Odyssey. Back at the parking lot, I tried again dozens of times and it would not start. I tried moving the gears from park to neutral, trying to start it and going back again. I called AAA for a tow and called service department to let you know of the issue and the towing to the dealership. I had noticed that when pressing down on the brake pedal, the car started most often when the pedal went down easily. It would usually not start with the pedal being very stiff. 2. Warning Lights on dashboard On Thursday 6/30/23, the warning lights on the dashboard all lit up and stayed lit. The odometer message was FCW failed. I had this problem before which should be in the service history of the vehicle. That problem occurred in August, 2019 and beyond. The throttle assembly was ultimately replaced, and it worked fine after that until now. I had been advised by one of the service representatives to use Shell or Costco gas. I have done that for over 90% of the fill-ups. In the past, the system would reset itself. But several times, the car went into “Creep Mode” when the errors occurred. Once while crossing the border into Niagra Falls, Canada and on I-90 in rush hour traffic. 3.Stalling I have had several cases when the car stalled when idling at stop lights, in stop and go traffic or in reverse. I was nearly a hood ornament for an 18-wheeler in Columbia, SC in April. It stalled and took several attempts to start.

I was on a busy highway, going uphill. The car suddenly decreased speed to 40 mph for about 60 seconds. The car then lost all acceleration with the gas engine still running. Dash warning said "Power system failure". I was able to maneuver the car to the side of the road and call AAA to have it towed to the Honda dealership. Dealership repair center was unable to find a problem.
This generation of Honda has known issue with the push start button to start the car. It sometimes take 3 to 4 or more attempts to start the car successfully. It has a grinding/whirring sound when the engine failed to start. I think it’s a clearance issue between the engine flywheel/torque converter and the starter motor that cause the engine failed to start. I strongly believe Honda should have a recall on this issue to resolve the clearance issue because it’s clearly the engineering design flaw on Honda.

I have been driving this car as my commuter car, oil changes been maintained. Suddenly started hearing knoking noise out of the engine compartment, finally I was able to diagnose the issue after reading on the internet it was the Connecting rod bearing that gave way.
The vehicles ABS control module has been an issue with this vehicle. This needs to be recalled because A bad ABS module can behave erratically, making your brakes lock up even under normal braking, compromising my families safety. It was confirmed today at the Honda Dealership, in which I questioned, “How does this happen to a vehicle with less than 100k miles? If this is a safety concern why isnt there a safety recall?” At that time, the representative became unaware why there wasn’t a recall. The vehicle has been inspected by Honda. Yes, the vehicle light sensors are produced: BRAKE LIGHT ABS LIGHT TRACTION CONTROL POWER STEERING ALL THAT COMPROMISE SAFETY. PLEASE ASSIST.
Several months ago, my Honda that has run very well up until now, started having problems with starting. I took it to Advance Auto and they thought it was the battery so I bought a new battery for over $200. That didn’t help. Then my husband noticed that the dashboard showed to push the brake, gas pedal and starter at the same time. That didn’t really help because sometimes it starts and sometimes doesn’t. We made an appointment at a local dealer where we purchased the car and the maintenance man suggested a new starter but reading through the complaints on here, that doesn’t always help. So he will cancel our appointment. With so many complaints on here about the car not starting, I think it’s your duty to come up with a resolution that works. Several times I have driven the car to places not near our home and the car won’t start. I think this is an unsafe condition and should be repaired!
For more than a year, my car has been having issues starting up. It rarely starts on the first attempt. It usually starts on the second attempt. There are times when it takes multiple attempts to start i have spent over $2000 ,replacing new battery, replacing new starter and after few weeks THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN today my car will NOT START and i cant get to work leaving me stranded in the middle of highway heading to work... My Honda Accord 2014 only has 55,5000 miles . For the last 3 months the starter is not working proper. In the last 3 months l had the battery changed, the rely switch changed. Still the problem was still there. Then a new started was installed on 1/ 18/22 . Many people with less miles are complaining about the started in their Honda Accord, and Honda is not recalling the starter. I am a single woman and l feel, l am, and everyone is being taken advantage of. My first and last Honda. I am shocked about the lack of service with Honda. My starter total cost with labor was almost $400.00

THE STARTER IS MALFUNCTIONING AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START

There are thousands for Honda Accord owners who bought model 2014 onwards have engine oil burning issue and mostly they ask to replace PCV Valve which does not make any difference even though you replace it or not. There are so many YouTube videos on it. I am also facing same issue. I bought used pre owned car , if I knew this issue I would have never bought that car. I have to change engine oil after every 1500 miles. Normally it’s best to replace engine oil after 3000-5000 miles. I will request NHTSA to take some action against Honda. It’s not for just my safety it’s about safety for all Honda Accord owners. Please do something
Vehicle fails to start on intermittent bases. Dangerous situations in extreme heat in AZ.
Engine has been consuming oil at high level. Just got my oil change at dealer and two weeks later my oil is low. There ain’t no oil leaks. This is an ongoing problem with these engine. I would like for Honda to fix there engine problem before some engine blows at the wrong situation causing a death. Also would like for a recall so it don’t happen to me. And also my oil light don’t even come on when the oil is low.

The car does not start consistently. I have replaced the battery two times and the starter. I will turn the key and the engine will not crank over, sometimes it will start up 30 seconds or a minute later after I attempt a couple of times. The Honda mechanic forum is stating that this is a very common problem from owners of this ninth gen Honda Accord.
At 104,000 miles the starter on my 2.4 liter Honda engine began intermittently operating. I ordered a $200 starter online that arrived with damaged connectors and had to take my car to a Honda repair facility. They acquired another starter for $300 and installed it for a total bill of $544.85. As a disabled retiree, I purchased the Honda Accord due to its reputation for reliability. I need it to be reliable transportation to take me and my wife to doctors appointments and the like, making it a serious health and safety issue for us. I do synthetic oil and filter changes every 5000 miles and rotate my tires at the same time. My plan was to keep this vehicle until the "wheels fell off" but now I'm questioning my decision and Honda's reputation. The original Honda starter core was sent back to AutoZone where the replacement starter was obtained. There were no lights or indicators of a pending problem with the starter malfunctioning.
Unknown. Just off of warranty, vehicle has started to exhibit intermittent failure to crank/ start on an increasing number of occasions. Could leave driver stranded. Turning key 180 degrees, using valet key, and waiting for various periods of time has allowed the vehicle to start ( so far). Research shows Honda replaces starters on 2013 and earlier Accords under a recall, but claims problem has been cured in 2014 and later Accords. An online search for 2014 and later Accords show the problem persists and has not been corrected.
WHILE ON A 400 MILE ROUND TRIP VISIT TO FAMILY, AFTER STOPPING FOR A REST ROOM BREAK, MY HONDA ACCORD WOULD NOT START AFTER ENGAGING THE PUSH BUTTON STARTER. AFTER A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS, THE PUSH BUTTON IGNITION FINALLY ENGAGED. WHILE VISITING OUT OF STATE, I CONTACTED A HONDA DEALER THERE AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE STARTER ASSEMBLY FOR MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD AND THAT DEALER WANTED $850 TO REPLACE THE STARTER ASSEMBLY. I DECLINED TO PAY THAT OUTRAGEOUS PRICE, TAKING MY CHANCES TO RETURN HOME, A 200 MILE TRIP. DURING THAT TRIP, THERE WERE MULTIPLE INSTANCES WHERE, AFTER STOPPING FOR EITHER GAS OR A REST ROOM BREAK, IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE. AT ONE POINT, AFTER DRIVING THROUGH A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU, I PULLED INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT TO PARK OUT OF THE WAY TO EAT MY FOOD BUT KEPT THE ENGINE RUNNING TO ENSURE I WOULD GET BACK HOME. AFTER RETURNING HOME, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A REPUTABLE LOCAL AUTOMOBILE REPAIR SHOP AND WHILE WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT STARTER TO BE INSTALLED, THE REPAIR TECHNICIAN CAME OUT TO ME TO SHOW ME THE FAULTY STARTER ASSEMBLY HE HAD REMOVED FROM MY ACCORD. THE ORIGINAL UNIT REMOVED FROM MY ACCORD ACTUALLY CAME OUT OF THE ENGINE IN TWO PIECES. IT HAD SEPARATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOUSING. I ASKED THE TECHNICIAN HOW HAD IT STAYED TOGETHER WHILE IT WAS IN THE ENGINE AND HE SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW. (2 PHOTOS ATTACHED) . AT THE TIME OF THIS REPAIR, THERE WERE LESS THAN 45,000 ON THIS 2014 HONDA ACCORD (THUS ALSO ON THE STARTER ASSEMBLY). THE REPAIR WAS MADE USING A GENERIC STARTER ASSEMBLY FROM NAPA ON 04/22/2021 AND I WAS CHARGED $583.98 TOTAL FOR PARTS AND LABOR. IT'S OUTRAGEOUS THAT SUCH AN EXPENSIVE PART DIDN'T LAST LONGER THAN 45,000. I HAD A 2000 HONDA CR-V THAT I SOLD WITH 203,000 MILE ON IT AND IT STILL HAD ITS ORIGINAL STARTER. GRANTED, DIFFERENT TYPE TO IGNITION THEN. .

WHENEVER I START THE VEHICLE, IT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE STARTING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE STARTER AND THE TORQUE CONVERTER. I HAVE CHANGED THE STARTER 4 TIMES IN SPAN OF 3 YEARS PERIOD I HAVE HAD THE CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL MECHANIC AND EACH OF THEM TELL ME IT'S THE STARTER AND THE FLYWHEEL. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO FIX IT AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE FLYWHEEL ISSUE. THE TECH TOLD ME IT WAS A PROBLEM KNOWN TO 2013-2015 HONDA ACCORD. I ASKED THE DEALERS TO AGREE TO FIXING THE STARTER AND ANY OTHER ISSUES RELATING TO THE STARTER BECAUSE THEY KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE IS BUT THE REFUSED. I HAVE 2 OF MY COLLEAGUES WITH THE SAME 2014 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE SAME ISSUES. THE ISSUE STARTED 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 2018 AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP.
THE CAR HAS BEEN BURNING EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL EVER SINCE I PURCHASED IT. THERE IS NO OIL LEAKAGE AS I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY OIL DROPS WHERE I PARK IT. ON MY 2014 ACCORD SPORT (2.4 L, I4 ENGINE), THERE APPEARS TO BE 'EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION' SINCE ABOUT 50K MILES. I HAVE TO ADD ABOUT 3/4 QUART TO 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 2000-2500 MILES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW AND PERFORM ALL THE MAINTENANCE ON TIME AT THE HONDA DEALER. I TAKE EXTREMELY GOOD CARE OF THIS CAR AND HAVE NEVER MISSED A SERVICE. IT NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE HITTING 50K MILES. IT CURRENTLY HAS 77K MILES AND I JUST HAD TO ADD 3/4 QUART OF OIL AGAIN AFTER ONLY 2000 MILES. I'VE EVEN REPLACED THE PCV VALVE WITH NO LUCK. MY QUESTION IS, WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE SIMILAR TO THE RECALL RELATED TO 2008-2012 ACCORDS? I THINK MANY OTHER HONDA OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. BY THE WAY, I'VE SEEN HONDA'S STANCE THAT UP TO 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES IS ACCEPTABLE, I ABSOLUTELY DISAGREE.. IT'S ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A CAR WITH SUCH LOW MILES TO BURN THIS MUCH OIL. WHEN I DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUSH THE START BUTTON, ALL OF MY 'NORMAL' DASH LIGHTS COME ON AS IF I PUT IT IN START MODE AND I HEAR ONE CLICK, BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN OVER. WHILE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME, IT HAPPENS MORE THAN IT STARTS ON THE FIRST TRY. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT CAN TAKE BETWEEN 2-6 TRIES BEFORE IT FINALLY STARTS. I REPLACED THE BATTERY 6 MONTHS AGO, BUT THE ISSUE CAME RECENTLY AND IS STILL ONGOING. I HAD THE ALTERNATOR AND STARTER BOTH TESTED BY NUMEROUS PLACES AND BOTH ARE TESTING GOOD.

WHEN I ASKED WHY NOT THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TAPE WAS EXPENSIVE. WELL 2 WEEKS LATER THE SAME PROBLEM AROSE A COUPLE INCHES WHERE THE MECHANIC FAILED TO EXTEND THE TAPE. THERE ARE 1000S OF COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT'S TIME THAT HONDA RECALLS THESE VEHICLES. I'M SURE THERE ARE A LOT OF UNSUSPECTING DRIVERS OUT THERE WHO ARE UNAWARE OF THIS THAT COULD HAVE A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE . I WAS TOTALLY UNAWARE. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED EVERY OTHER ELECTRONIC SAFETY SYSTEM IN THE CAR TO INTERMITTENTLY FAIL. OPENED A CASE WITH AMERICAN HONDA WHO DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM. THESE UNITS FAIL RARELY AND SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. THE PART (36,000 MILE 3-YR WARRANTY) WAS EVEN BACK ORDERED FROM THE MANUFACTURER. FOR EXAMPLE, ONLY 1 UNIT WAS REPLACED IN ATLANTA, GA SINCE 2014, THEY WANTED ALMOST $1,600 TO FIX THE ISSUE. TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SPECIALIST WHO FIXED IT FOR UNDER $600 BY FINDING A USED PART. I THINK HONDA SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE ACCOMMODATING AND CONCERNED. THIS PROBLEM CAUSED THE ABS, LDW, FCW, AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEMS TO EVENTUALLY FAIL. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THE FAILURE OF THIS PART AT 30K IS REASONABLE AND CUSTOMARY AND WOULD CAUTION RETURNING A HONDA BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. I CALLED HONDA AND INQUIRED AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET THEY REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM UNTIL THEIR DEALERSHIP IS ABLE TO RE CREATE IT. 3 MONTHS LATER THE PROBLEM BECAME SO WORSE I WOULD GET NO START 2ND/3RD TIME I START THE CAR, I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY IDENTIFIED IT'S THE STARTER AND WOULD COST ME $1000 TO REPLACE. ONCE THE STARTER WAS REPLACED, I HAD THE PROBLEM RESURFACE 4 TIMES THAT MONTH. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE STARTER AGAIN UNDER WARRANTY. 3 WEEKS LATER I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, 4 TIMES NO START IN THE SAME WEEK, I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY ROTATED THE GEAR PINION RING/ADJUSTED THE TORQUE CONVERTER AS PER HONDA. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE, THESE SERVICE GUYS AT THE DEALERSHIP I'M GOING ARE EXCELLENT BUT I CANT IMAGINE I'M DRIVING HONDA 'S TOP OF THE CLASS ACCORD EX-L WHICH IS SO VERY UNRELIABLE.

I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH STALLING OR CUTTING OFF WHILE IN MOTION. MY BATTERY IS ONLY 2 YR. OLD. AND IT WAS JUST CHECKED LAST MONTH AND THE CHARGE WAS OK. CLEARLY THERE IS A SHORT AFFECTING IGNITION OF THE IGNITION OF THE ENGINE. THE PROBLEM I HAVE DESCRIBED HAS SO FAR ONLY OCCURRED WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY. I ONLY HAVE 42,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND SO THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING AND IS QUITE DISTURBING; IT CAN BECOME A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. I KNOW THAT NHTSA HAS ISSUED HONDA ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAMPAIGNS F/ RECALL NOTICES FOR OTHER HONDA VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT YET FOR MY 2014 SEDAN. IT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED. FROM REVIEWING THE NHTSA COMPLAINT DATABASE IT IS CLEAR THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY NHTSA AND HONDA AND NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH. AS I'M SITTING IN THE CAR AT HONDA THE CAR DIED AND WOULDN'T START. THE NEXT DAY THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE STARTER AND REPLACED IT AND I PICKED UP THE CAR FRIDAY JUNE 23RD. THE CAR WAS FINE UNTIL SUNDAY AROUND 3PM AT SAFEWAY ON PHOENIX WHERE THE CAR WOULD START AND THEN DIE. I TOOK AN UBER HOME AND SCHEDULED A TOW. WHEN I GOT BACK TO SAFEWAY THE CAR STARTED AND I DROVE IT HOME. MONDAY MORNING JUNE 26 I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE FUEL PUMP TO BE BAD AFTER TWO DAYS. I TOWED IT BACK TO HONDA ON JUNE 28TH TO HAVE THE FUEL PUMP CHANGED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND I DID NOT GET MY CAR BACK UNTIL JULY 8TH. ON MY WAY TO WORK TUESDAY JULY 11TH THE CAR DIED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY INTERCHANGE BETWEEN I10W AND I17N AND WAS FORCED TO THE SIDE OF THE RODE (THERE'S BARELY A SHOULDER) AND WAIT FOR A TOW AS THE CAR WOULD NO START. I WAS TOWED TO SHOWCASE HONDA WHERE THE CAR IS NOW. THIS LAST INCIDENT WAS MORE THAN JUST AN INCONVENIENCE IT WAS COMPLETELY UNSAFE. I PROVIDED A VIDEO OF THE OCCURRENCE TO THE DEALER WHICH PROMPTED THE REPLACEMENT IN JULY. CAR WAS FINE FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS, THEN THE PROBLEM BEGAN TO REOCCUR. RETURNED TO DEALER WHO EVALUATED AND BECAUSE THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. ON 12/6/16, TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO START MY VEHICLE WITHOUT SUCCESS. ALL YOU HEAR IS THE WHINING OF THE STARTER, I HAVE ON VIDEO. LET VEHICLE SIT A WHILE AND TRIED LATER WITH SUCCESS. BROUGHT VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER THE NEXT DAY, SHOWED THEM THE VIDEO. THE TOOK VEHICLE IN AND DETERMINED EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL. THEY DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE WITH THE STARTER BECAUSE IT IS INTERMITTENT, OCCURRING ABOUT EVERY 3-4 DAYS. THEY SENT ME ON MY WAY. WE SMELLED FUEL WHEN DRIVING TO CHURCH ON A SUNDAY. THINKING IT WAS SOME LEFTOVER FUEL SPLASHED, WE CONTINUED BUT THEN THE SMELL BECAME REALLY INTENSE. SO WE TURNED AROUND AND RETURNED TOWARD HOME. UPON ENTERING OUR STREET, SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE STALLED TOTALLY OUT AND CAME TO A STOP IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! WE ROLLED IT OVER TO THE SIDE, IT IS A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET; THEN STARTED CAR AGAIN AND WENT SLOWLY DOWNHILL TO THE HOUSE; CAR STALLED AGAIN JUST OUTSIDE OUR HOUSE, WE COULD NOT GET IT INTO DRIVEWAY, VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL; WE PUSHED IT TO GET IT PARKED ON THE STREET. TRIED AGAIN LATER THAT DAY TO START THE CAR BUT IT WOULDN'T START, VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL AND GASOLINE LEAKING ONTO THE STREET. CAR TOWED TO HONDA DEALER NEXT DAY; AFTER TECHNICIANS EXAMINED THE CAR THEY CONCLUDED "RODENT DAMAGE" TO THE FUEL LINE LEADING TO THE FUEL TANK. THEY WOULD NOT COVER ANY OF THE DAMAGE AS IT "WASN'T MANUFACTURER DEFECT." ALSO CALLED NATIONAL HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OPENED A CASE; BUT THEY WOULD NOT AGREE EITHER TO COVER ANYTHING. WE WERE VERY LUCKY WE WEREN'T ON A HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE WHEN THIS SUDDENLY STALLED OUT, WE COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED AS THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED WITH NO WARNING! THE FUEL LINE LAST PORTION LEADING INTO THE TANK IS MADE OF RUBBER, IT IS NOT METAL OR HARD PLASTIC LIKE THE REST OF THE LINE AND THEREFORE SUBJECT TO SOMETHING SHARP PUNCTURING IT--WHICH IS A DEFECTIVE DESIGN IN OUR VIEW. THE NEW PART THEY PUT ON IS SAME AS THE OLD, THE SAME THING COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. THERE IS NO SHIELD UNDER THE FUEL TANK AREA TO KEEP THINGS FROM UNDERNEATH GETTING UP IN THERE. REPAIRS DENIED TO BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BY HONDA DEALERSHIP AND AMERICA HONDA. STATING ACCIDENT EVENTS LIKE THIS IS NOT COVERED, AND IS NOT A MECHANICAL DEFECT.
