ABS braking system completely failed. quoted $5000 to fix it, huge safety issue. the value of my car has significantly decreased and now I can't sell my car or afford to fix it due to this issue and now it is dangerous to have this issue. thousands of people online dealing the same issue
While driving the car at approx 45mph on a busy roadway the vehicle suddenly accelerated heavily I tried applying the breaks but the pedal did not go down and had no affect of slowing the vehicle. I was forced to swerve around several vehicles to avoid a collision then just as suddenly the car returned to normal operation. The duration on the incident was approx 5 to 10 seconds. Very dangerous and very scary.
I purchased this used vehicle. I have never received any recall information on this vehicle. The electric power steering system, tire pressure and the vehicle stability Assist indicators lit up after a successful vehicle inspection was conducted Thursday 11132025. A 2023 recall, identified by the NHTSA AS 23V-430, covers the issue and requires dealerships to replace the VSA modulator. I contacted the dealership and they told me they could not assist.
ABS, traction control, power steering, parking lights go on and off. ABS control module throws code DTC 121-11; VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction. Been going off and on for a few weeks. No warning before the lights came on. Heard this is a common problem with the early 2010s Honda Accords that needs a recall. Pulled the code from a personal OBDII scanner.
ABS warning light went on after having front L&R axle replaced because it broke or drive shaft broke . Had rear brakes done at same time calipers rotors and pads. Also emergency brake fixed. Less than a week later ABs light went on a long with Ebrake and power steering lights and traction light . Would initially go on and off now mostly on.. Machanic said it reads Abs module. Seems coincidental that it went on a week after drive shaft broke. However after research this very expensive ABS module seem to be a frequently occurring problem with Honda accords. And unavailable parts to fix. I had a 2001 that ABS went on also. Honda should fix this problem issue a recall maybe and pay to fix .A huge expense for customers. Not sure I will buy another Honda
I am writing to report a persistent and dangerous safety defect in my 2014 Honda Accord involving the VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) / ABS / ABS modulator / ABS ECU system. The ABS, VSA, and other warning lights have been on for years, first noticing around 60-70,000 miles indicating an ongoing fault in the system. The dealer has diagnosed a bad ABS/VSA modulator and/or ECU and stated this is a common issue and that often this part is on backorder. Most recently, while turning the car, the system locked or mis applied the brakes, causing the car to lose control and spin out. Luckily I did not crash as the car behind me was at a safe distance, but I ended up on the side of the highway in a dangerous situation. The Center for Auto Safety shows multiple complaints for 2014 Accord, including: ABS, VSA, traction control, stability control failures; owners say they were told a VSA modulator needs replacing Owners report DTC codes like 81‑19 (“yaw rate sensor internal circuit malfunction”) and 81‑20 (ABS CPU internal circuit malfunction) in 2014 Accords. Owners report ABS and VSA not functioning, lights all on, and concerns that braking or stability control will fail, especially in poor conditions. Given the large number of similar reports for this model and year, this appears to be a systemic defect in the ABS/VSA modulator/ECU system in 2013‑to‑2017 Honda Accords, including 2014. Because this is a safety system (brakes, stability control), the defect creates a real risk of crash, injury, or death. I request that NHTSA: Open a formal investigation into the ABS/VSA modulator/ECU failures in 2014 Accords (and related years). Determine whether a recall is needed. Require Honda to provide fixed or replacement units without cost to owners or reimbursment Ensure parts are available (i.e. not back‑ordered) and that the repair is effective and safe.
Brake and power steering lights come on and off. Occasionally power steering malfunctions. The cause has been diagnosed as the abs module. I will have to get it rebuilt. The wiring is a known issue with Honda.
Electric Power Steering System Indicator, Tire Pressure, ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System), FCW (Front Collision Warning), LDW (Lane Departure Warning)& Vehicle Stability Assist Indicator are the Warning lamps that appear on the dashboard all at the same time while driving. Other information provided as shown in the uploads
I am a huge Honda fan and I’ve only owned Accords and I have friends with the same body style Accord as mine. Every last one of us have failed or malfunctioning ABS modules as well as continuous catalytic converter issues. I have exhausted my bank account and the issue still presents itself. Due to the failure of the converter, my car is now stalling only when the AC is running in the vehicle. I feel these issues are common and a true safety do driving due to stalling and ABS braking malfunctions.
The ABS modulator assembly has a Yaw Rate Sensor (Code 81-19) internal circuit malfunction that affects the anti-lock braking system. The ABS uses pressure from the ABS pump to pulse each wheel's brakes individually if the vehicle slides or skids when braking. This part needs to function properly in slick and icy conditions for safe braking distance, etc. It seems that this part has failed in other countries on a routine basis and is becoming a problem for different Honda models and years. The failure of this component is also not consistent with mileage factors (meaning it fails at low, intermediate, and high mileage). I believe there should be a recall for this issue.
The ABS module control has failed in my vehicle. This failure is a potentially safety hazard. Per research, "Honda vehicles, particularly those from 2008-2017, have experienced ABS module failures, often indicated by an illuminated ABS light." A local Honda dealership diagnosed the issue. The vehicle has not bee inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance rep; however, the issue was diagnosed by a local Honda dealership. There are warning lights, that only appeared after the failure.
VSA modulator, that controls ABS, failed. (core 123-11 vsa solenoid malfunction). The car is not safe to operate, until the VSA module is replaced (part # 04571-T2F-L21).
Abs module went out. Lights on dash turned on. Abs light, steering wheel light, break light, traction control light, took to the mechanic says it's the Abs module.
Vehicle drives fine but a week ago the steering, traction, ABS, & brake lights all lit up on my Accord's dashboard. Took car to our regular mechanic, who then conducted diagnostic testing. This in turn, indicated that the ABS control module is the cause. Steering, traction, & braking are quite vital in the safe manuerving of stopping & controlling a vehicle in motion. If unable to manageable do so, I, as well as many others are potentially at risk.
The ABS modulator has failed. It's a common issue with 2014 Honda Accords and they should be recalled for it. It causes all of the dash lights to come on and so you won't know when there is an actual issue with your car because all of the lights are on all of the time until you can get it repaired. Also your anti lock brakes could fail. I bought this car brand new in 2014. It has less than 80k miles and to pay thousands of dollars 10+ yrs later because Honda charges so much for the part, does not make sense.
The ABS light is on. brake light is on Auto shop said I need a new ABS module. Also the power steering light is on.
A random day the cars steering wheel light came on,the abs light came on,the tire pressure light came on,and the traction control light came on
ABS Control Module Solenoid Valve Malfunction
No accident involved . Warning lights pop up on dashboard. Honda diagnosed that my ABS modulator need to be replaced. I have seen many comments online that many people are experiencing this problem. Fix is very expensive and people who can least afford it are going to be driving without this problem being corrected and maybe causing accidents which could be fatal. Will provide diagnosis by dealer if requested.
I am reporting that there are three things that needs to be addressed on the 2014 Honda Accord. 1. The drivers side seat, deflates and it consistantly has to be pumped back up while driving. 2. I've had to purchase (4) new car batteries for this 2014 Honda Accord that I own since I purchased it in 2016. That's unacceptable especially when there has been a recalled by Honda, on the 2016, for a battery senior issue? 3 The brakes on my 2014 Honda Accord car is most dangerous. When the brake is engaged and pressed hard, the brake fills with air and barely stops the car. I replaced the pad and rototes and it did not change a thing. Please have someone to check these things as well. I. The other Honda Accords are having issues with a Battery Senior then I am sure it's something in this 2014 that is killing my battery. The seat should not be deflating either and the brakes should not be barley stopping, when that is most important.
What happened? While driving my 2014 Honda Accord, both the brake and steering warning lights suddenly illuminated. The steering became difficult, indicating a loss of power steering assist. I pulled over safely and discovered that the ABS light remained on. After towing the vehicle to a service center, the technician confirmed that the ABS pump/module had failed, which triggered both warning lights and caused a failure in the power steering system. This malfunction poses a serious safety risk, potentially leading to loss of braking efficiency and steering control. The failure was sudden, with no prior warning signs. The service center advised that the ABS module requires replacement. Legal Protections and Manufacturer Liability: As a consumer, I am protected under state lemon laws and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. These laws mandate that vehicles sold must be free from defects affecting safety and performance. The ABS pump/module failure directly compromises the vehicle’s safety, making Honda responsible for repair or replacement. I should not bear the cost of this repair, as the issue is a manufacturing defect. Widespread Safety Issue and Call for Investigation: It has come to my attention that thousands of 2014 Honda Accords are experiencing the same ABS pump/module failure, a clear safety issue that affects both the braking and steering systems. This is a widespread defect that Honda has yet to acknowledge with a formal recall. This issue appears to be purposefully hidden, and I urge Honda to initiate a thorough investigation and recall to address this danger. If Honda does not act quickly, I will pursue legal action to ensure the safety of affected consumers, including complaints to regulatory bodies and potential class action litigation.
Multiple Lights on Dashboard: ABS, EPS, Parking Brake, VSA, TPMS. Lights were intermittent at first, then became permanent. Car still runs and drives fine but ABS and Traction Control do not function. Local Mechanic scanned for codes and found the following: 121-11 VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction 81-20 Central Processing Unit internal circuit malfunction 85-01 VSA system malfunction Local Mechanic has seen this before and recommended replacement of the VSA Modulator Valve assembly (Part number 04571-T2F-L01). Repair has not been completed. Transmission died (CVT belt Broke) at around 195,000 miles and about 6 months after VSA system issue started. Unsure if the problems were related. Car now has a new Transmission.
The VSA/ABS module failed and is a costly repair that causes safety concerns. I see from research that this is a common issue among the 2014 Honda accords and a small number of 2014 Honda accords were recalled for this but not mine. The fact that so many are failing this recall should be expanded to include the other accords having the same issues.
VSA module failure. Warning codes. Safety aids unavailable.
There is a common problem with the VSA module failing on Honda's and there is no mfg recall. I believe there should be.
All kinds of failure on dashboards. Codes 81-19 and 81-20. Mechanic said there is a chance abs brakes and traction control isn't working. Said this is very common for my car and that I should take it directly to Honda.
VSA module has gone bad. I’ve come to find out it is a common thing in certain Honda vehicles. I feel the braking and stability in my vehicle is compromised.
In the dashboard, EPS (Electronic Power Steering), VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), ABS (Anti Lock Brake system), and BRAKE lights would turn on and off Intermittently. The lights could turn on starting the car in the morning or after driven for some time, for short period of time - 15 minutes to long period of time - 60 minutes. When these lights are on initially, a clank could be typically heard. When driven and slowed to around 10 MPH, the high-to-low whine could be heard. At low speeds, the car jerks on deaccelearation and acceleration. The car may be difficult to drive smoothly at low speeds. OBDII reader found no fault codes. Reports of other cars with simillar problem indicate issue with ABS module, wheel speed sensor, and/or battery.
ABS Module failure. Im sure this issue has been mentioned multiple times, but it is a known issue that the honda accord's (2014 range models) ABS module circuit board have improperly sized wires that are soldered on the circuit board. This can cause a lot of issues especially when driving in the snow and/or rain since the ABS system is faulty. This video explains in better detail: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Abs module has gone bad. Many other accords same year have had same issue reported
I purchased this vehicle new, it has only 70,000 miles. Recently the dashboard lights lit up with a message that the forward collision warning system failed. I pulled over as soon as I could and began looking this up. First, I wanted to learn if it was safe to drive the car home or if I needed to have the car towed to a dealer. When I restarted the car thirty minutes later the warning lights were off. I got the car home and used an inexpensive OBD reader to check for codes, none showed up. Later I took the car to a mechanic and his professional scanner found codes 81-19 and 81-20. There are many stories on youtube about the VSA/ABS module failing.
Car is available for inspection. Lane Departure Warning failed Front Collision Warning failed Brake light on ABS light on Power steering light on Traction control light on Passenger Airbag light on Safety put at risk due to no traction control, no abs, and power steering system failure System was confirmed by independent service center Failure was confirmed by service center 8/18/2023 No symptoms prior
See attached document for complaint
There is known issue with the ABS Modulator with this gen Honda Accord. I believe the affected years are 2013-2017. The selenoid for the ABS module goes bad and the light in the attached photo comes on. Basically, the soldering for the tinny modulator wires comes off. Honda sells the at for $2300 These was a class action for the similar issue in Thailand and Honda had to repair all the affected vehicles at no charge. [XXX] Also, it's so common that people on ebay service these selenoids and solder the wires. I think you guys need to step up and put some pressure on Honda and have them honor the service to the affected customer without extra charge. In July 2023 after having brake pads and rotors replaced at the Honda dealership, several dashboard lights went on: LDW/FCW, traction control, steering, and ABS lights came on. After a diagnostic test at the dealership, they wanted over $2600 for parts and labor for a new ABS module. However, this part is “on backorder” with NO ETA. We spent less than $700 to have a mechanic remove the current ABS module, send it to CA to a place we found on eBay that repairs them, and have the mechanic replace it after bleeding the brake lines and replacing the brake fluid. This is a KNOWN issue (see Reddit, YouTube, these complaints, mechanics…even the dealership) on a part that should last the lifetime of the car. I expected more from Honda.
ABS Module failed and hence indicators for ABS, Electronic steering, stability assist, and tire low pressure have come on. On diagnosis with the dealer, it was told that the module has failed, and it has to be replaced. Such low-quality parts were not expected from Honda.
ABS module failing and causing ABS sensor, TPS sensor, powersteering sensor and hand brake light turn on. Very dangerous when you meed ABS in action. When i research almost all cars from 2014 having this issue. Honda must recall this car to replace abs module
My dashboard is lit up with lights .. Abs,break vehicle skid control, and steering wheel .I need a new abs control module I am told I have 178,000 The breaks are new, but now making a funny nose. Including shaking and vibrating and squeeking in my driver side wheel. The driver wheel makes a clunking noise only when the lights turn on. And breaks seem to be acting weird.. when lights come on my steering wheel also makes weird noise when turning.
ABS / VSA module failure
1. Im experiencing an ABS module failure (Honda calls it VSA module). 2. When the system messed up it causes my traction control and anti-lock brakes to turn off. 3. The problem has been reproduced as it keeps randomly turning all of the systems on and off randomly, multiple times during a single drive. 4. It has not been inspected by any of the people listed. 5. Nothing prior to the failure just all of a sudden my dashboard indicated that my electronic steering system, ABS, forward collision warning system, lane departure warning system, and tire pressure monitoring system all shut down. When the codes were read it all leads back to a failure in the ABS/VSA module. Reading articles online has shown me others that have had this issue has made me realize this is a very large number of vehicles affected and could cause great bodily harm or death to occupants or others on the roadway. Attached in the photo section i have supplied pictures of the codes currently on the vehicles computer. I have cleared the codes and the failure immediately came back and all safety systems turned back off.
ABS modulator failure. Brake lights and warning lights flashing all the time. Maintenance/Repair shop diagnosed as ABS modator failure. But Honda does not have this part. On backorder with NO estimated delivery date. I called several Honda dealers and OEM Mf parts dealers in the nation - all say part not available. Now my daughter is driving a car with faulty ABS.
Vsa/ABS control modulator went bad. Honda dealer tried to reset and didn’t resolve. New part is back ordered 5-6 months. Anti slip/traction no longer operable
When the car warms up I get a total of four lights ABS the traction control the brake light and the steering control light comes on Also was told that the problem to fix it was the ABS pump and module which no one has in stock six months out to purchase
I took my 2014 Honda Accord Ex in for repairs on September 4, 2023 and the Honda dealership informed me that after replacing the battery that the it that the VSA Modulator on the car has gone bad which has been a common problem with this year Honda Accord and others from 2013 all the way to the 2017. And this part has been on back order for months. This a shame.
My 2014 Honda Accord EX sedan has/had defective Starter and ABS Modulator , Many Honda Accord vehicles in these year range are having or had these same problems . These vehicles should not be having these problems at low mileage . I believe the ABS problems are a safety concern.
ABS module/modulator is faulty. Dashboard lights come on and anti lock brakes do not work in rainy conditions or any condition when braking hard to stop. Many people have experienced the exact same thing. The dealership confirmed that it is the abs/gas modulator.
The brake, steering, and a few other dashboard warning lights come on. Upon checking the diagnostic code, it indicated that the VSA Modulator Assy was the problem. This requires part number 04571-T2F-L01 (replaces 57110-T2F-L01). However, this part has been on a nationwide backorder for several months. I called several local Honda dealers and checked with online vendors as well and they all told me the part has been on backorder for several months. I reported the issue to Honda and the case number is 14081980. The Honda representative had me place an order with a dealer and pay for the part saying they would try to have the order fulfilled. After placing the order and paying for the part, the Honda representative changed her story and told me they can only monitor the order and close the case after the part is shipped. I was charged $1,373.29 for the part and there is no estimate when they will ship the part. Honda still says there is no ETA for the part even after they made me place an order and pay for it. This is a safety hazard as I am forced to drive the car with a malfunctioning VSA Modulator. I suspect several Honda Accord car owners are in the same position as the part is on a nationwide backorder. Please investigate this as a safety issue. Thanks.
My 2014, Honda Accord has every warning light on the dashboard on. Once this happened, I took it to my local dealership and was informed that my ABS module had failed. The dealership also informed me that the vehicle was not repairable because of the part being available. The part is on back order with no timetable of when the dealership will get the part.. my car is now sitting because it is unsafe to drive and I am not able to fix it because there are no parts for it.
My 2014 Honda Accord 3.5-V6, 9 years old, it has almost 40,000 miles on it. Recently all warning lights show up on the dashboard (ABS, FCW, Traction control, LDW.....) Honda dealers said it take $3000 to fix it, they mentioned the Honda Accord 2014 is bad designed from Honda Company. I wish NHTSA look into this matter, investigate the quality of Honda Accord 2014. Honda must recall to fix the problems. Please. Help us to recall Honda Accord 2014-V6. As a retiree, I don't have much money $3000 to fix the ABS system. Thank you very much.
ABS control module failed and warning lights have appeared. Honda needs to recall and repair this ABS control module. There are many complaints and youtube videos posted online about this problem. My car has less than 60,000 miles and this should not have occurred. Honda is making unreliable cars which they need to recall at their expense, since this can affect safety of passengers.
My 2014 Honda Accord suddenly turn on all the lights, When I took it to Honda dealer it says that ABS Module need to be replace which is cost a lot almost $2K plus, I check for recall but Honda don't have recall for it. when I search online I am not the only one lots of Honda accord owners have the same problem. I kindly request NHTSA to share this issue with Honda company to help and give us recall.
ABS Module failed, affects the braking system. Problem confirmed by mechanic. Braking lights on dash all lit up including the "LDW Failure" and "FCW Failure" message on the dashboard. The dashboard warning lights go on and off (not constant, but every time I drive).
I thought I was just imagining that my brakes felt like they were not stopping properly, but I see a recall with other Honda's that have the same issue I have with my brakes. If I tape these brakes fast or hard they feel like they are not going to stop. They also feel like there is air in the air or something of that nature which means this 2014 Im driving has an issue with the brake as well. I keep them serviced but they feel the same way even after changing all the hardware and software.
ABS computer module has gone bad because of the way it was made and poses a hazard to the break system. I have noticed that I have to apply pressure to my breaks. I have called the dealer and this part is on back order, which means I am not the only one with this issue. There should be a recall on this part. I am afraid to drive my car with any passengers in fear my breaks won’t work. I ask that you take a serious look into this problem. I have been dealing with this problem for a year because despite the lights being on, no code was producing the problem until now. This started happening after I popped a tire, front driver side.
ABS modular failed causing ABS brakes FCW and LDW and Traction control to stop working
On June second this year I started my Accord and drove on the freeway adjacent to my home for a few minutes and the ABS, traction control, and the brakes warning lights displayed on the dashboard. They went off after a few miles but continued displaying more frequently for a few days until I parked my car and got an appointment with my Honda certified mechanic. He told me this morning that the ABS control module needs to be replaced. Part and labor are $2,200. Current mileage is 70,480. By the way I felt a bumpy ride since the warning lights went on. I appreciate your feedback and looking forward to hearing your response and advice. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
Hello, The ABS and Traction Control lights of my car came on a few weeks ago. I took it to the dealer and they did a diagnostics and they said it is a faulty/bad ABS (VSA) module (computer). Thee car has fairly low mileage and I did not expect the car to have any serious safety issue at around 65000 miles. The dealer told me the part costs about $1500 and the labor is $600. It is too much for me too afford and it is a safety issues at the same time. When I did a bit of online research I saw it is a popular issue for Honda owners and a lot of them complain and suffer about it. It reveals that Honda has a design flaw with any ABS/VSA module. apparently the module is not designed to tolerate the operating condition of the car (vibration, temperature...) and it gets faulty after a few years or some thousand miles. It is very popular. I could provide evidence of it based on my online research. Some Honda owners apparently try to reset the computer and turn of the light (mask the issue) since it is very costly to replace the part but they do not understand the safety impact it has on the passengers. Apparently Honda is ware of its design flaw too but because of the large cost of this module tries to deny or hide it. If you do online research on Honda accord or civic (all accord and civic after 2011, 2012) ABS or VSA module/modulator issues you will see bunch of it. It is a popular issue which needs a bigger action. Since it is safety and it is Honda's design flaw I wanted to report it to you. Please investigate this safety issue further. It might end up being a recall due to safety and since some owners ignore or reset it due to the very high cost. Please help. It is very costly to fix it as you see and I do not want to pay since the vehicles is fairly low millage and it is a Honda's design flaw. You don't see this issue on Internet with Toyotas or Nissans.
I had several warning light appear on the dashboard, and the dealership said that my VSA modulator was starting to go bad. This device controls power steering, anti-lock brakes and other functions. While driving to the Honda service department, the brakes were very low and the steering was loose (dangerous conditions). After doing some research, I found that Honda recalled the VSA modulator on other models, but not for my 2014 Accord. Many other owners of the same model stated that their VSA modulators failed around 34k-36k miles (right at the end of warranty). I still have the original VSA modulator, the dealer just reset the warning lights and sent me on my way. I am writing to request an investigation for Honda to extend the VSA modulator recall to more models, such as the 2014 Accord.
Antilock Brake System modulator failure. Malfunction lights showed Forward Collision Warning System Failure, Antiskid malfunction, FCW and LDW lights illuminated. DTC Code 81-19. THis problem occurred over 2 week period. Dealer replaced ABS modulator.
Car occasionally experiences unintended acceleration. This happening today 9/4/2022. Car was brought to a complete stop. It suddenly accelerated while the foot was still on the brake, causing it to rear-end the car in front. Thankfully there no physical injuries reported (yet) We had experienced this a couple of time before. I had contact Honda as well as the local dealer and they cleared the car with no changes.
ABS module failed, causing FCW, airbag, and traction control system to fail as well. Without a functional ABS system, the likelihood of a crash increases. Yes a dealer confirmed this failure, and has replaced the module. Several warning lamps were illuminated.
During normal operation of the vehicle several indicating lights suddenly illuminated on the cluster...etc. steering, FCW, LDW, ABS, traction control and the verbiage " FCW FAILED". With the ABS unit not functioning properly the vehicle may, can and will skid uncontrollably under emergency braking, especially during inclement weather conditions. The same can be said for the traction control under acceleration, or normal driving depending on the road condition. With the FCW, and LDW not functioning the risk of a rear, or side collision is greatly increased again, pending the weather condition. As for the steering I am clueless as to the implications it may have, especially that this vehicle is equipped with electronically assisted steering. This vehicle was taken into the local Honda dealer to be looked at after the several attempts to clear codes. First by shutting the vehicle the off and restarting it several times and disconnecting the battery for extended period of time more than once. The dealer ran a diagnostic check, which they conclude that the VSA/ABS modulator needs to replace because of "81-20 ABS CPU internal circuit malfunction, 61-11 VSA modulator control unit power source circuit low voltage: repair will require new VSA Modulator" The vehicle has been taken into the HONDA dealer for inspection (see above statement). It has not been inspected by the police or by the insurance. NO! there were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms to indicate a possible malfunction of the system. This issue first appeared on the 6 July 2022. After doing several independent research about this failure, associated fix and cost to repair. I realized that this is a major issue affecting this make, model, trim, and year. It also extends to these manufacture's other models, trims, and years prior to and after. A Simple search of 2014 Accord "FCW FAILED" will highlight the broad scope of this issue.
There seems to be a problem with the ABS control Module. Apparently, the part can fail and cause the ABS warning light to go on. Also. many of the other associated warning lights go on like traction control, steering, and the tire pressure light. It seems as if the part fails often on this year vehicle. The dealer says they can't replace the part because they can't get the part. For the complete safety of the vehicle I would like Honda to replace the part. I think Honda should create a recall for this part failure for safety reasons. My understanding is that this part fails often in this vehicle.
Brakes- rear calipers wear uneven on the inside pad 5mm outer and 1mm on inner. This is a safety hazard because seeing the outer pad still was in specifications that I did not need to replace them just yet. Got my car completely inspected due to grinding noise and found that the inner pad was metal to metal ruined my rotor costing me more money as well as if I hadn’t gotten it inspected could have caused an accident. Headlights- new battery installed and headlights still flicker sometimes even completely turn off, I have to pull over and bang on the housing to get them to power back on. That is also a risk to my safety and others if they are to completely turn off again in the night time others won’t see me. Not the only time it has happened. I’ve ran recalls on my vin but dealer said there was no open recalls.
Abs module faulty causing abs light, brake light traction light power steering light and tpms light to all be on. A car pulled out in front of my car and as I attempted to brake the car it wasn't responding causing a very bad accident and totally my car due to poor handling and the inability to stop the vehicle
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, STALLING, AND BRAKING HARD THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION WARNING, ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE WARNING AND PARKING BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL ACTIVATED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A FAULTY VSA MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ORDER THE PART WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE PART IS BACKORDERED 3-6 MONTHS.
A sensor in the ABS module has failed, and has caused FCW, LDW, ABS, TCS to all not work. Honda wants me to replace the module, but says the parts on back order for forseeable future and that they can’t do anything for me. How can 1 part cause the failure of so many safety systems? How can they not stock this important repair part? Everytime I drive, my safety and the safety of those around me is compromised, and Honda’s solution given to me from the dealer was to call back in 3 months to check if the part can be ordered. (And then pay $2000 to have it installed)
CAR HAS 85,000 ON 2014. RECENT ISSUES INCLUDE DEFECTIVE STARTER AND REAR BRAKE CALIPER. ALSO REAR TIRES SPIN IF ROAD IS DAMP EVEN WITH ANTI SERVE ENGAGED AND GOOD TIRES. PREVIOUS ISSUES INCLUDE BATTERY COMPONENT RECALL AND AXEL RECALL. DID I BUY A LEMON?
Vehicle abs modulator failed this looks like known issue with multiple complaints on the site but no action is being taken this a huge safety hazard for all consumers. I have all lights on in my dashboard and I have realized my abs brakes failing numerous times while driving in slippery conditions. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD AND HONDA IS DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT!
The forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems failed and the alerts for ABS and steering come on. Dealer says it needs an ABS modulator, but there are none in the United States.
CONSTANT ERROR WARNING 'FCW SYSTEM FAILED' POPS UP WHILE DRIVING, MANY DASH ERROR LIGHTS TURN ON, AND ALL ABS AND VSA SYSTEMS ARE DEACTIVATED. SYSTEM USUALLY RESETS WHEN CAR RESTARTED BUT THE ERROR HAPPENS AGAIN WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING. TOOK CAR TO DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED IT AS VSA MODULATOR UNIT IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WHILE THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE PART AND DISAPPOINTING THAT A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM WOULD FAIL THIS EARLY IN THE CAR'S LIFE (MY CAR ONLY HAS 58,000 MILES), AMAZINGLY THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT UNITS AVAILABLE IN THE USA, AND THIS PART HAS BEEN BACK ORDERED BY HONDA FOR AT LEAST A MONTH, WITH NO RESOLUTION DATE. SO I CANNOT HAVE THE SYSTEM FIXED BECAUSE HONDA DOESN'T HAVE ANY VSA MODULATORS ANYWHERE IN THE USA. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE INCREASING IN FREQUENCY ESPECIALLY IN THE V6 ACCORDS LIKE MINE. IS HONDA OUT OF THE PART BECAUSE SO MANY VSA MODULATORS ARE STARTING TO FAIL? IT SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT MY CAR HAS NO ABS OR VSA SYSTEM WORKING WHILE DRIVING, AND HONDA IS ALSO UNABLE TO OFFER A FIX SINCE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE.

I HAVE 4 WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH BRAKE,TRACTION,STEERING AND TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHTS. I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAS TO DUE WITH A FAULTY ABS CONTROL MODULE. THE PART HAS BEEN SOLD OUT FOR SOME TIME. WHEN I TALKED TO THE GENTLEMAN AT THE SHOP HE TOLD ME THAT A LOT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THIS. THE LIGHT ARE ALWAYS ON THE CAR DRIVES FINE BUT I'M WORRIED BECAUSE IT CONTROLS ALL OF THE SAFETY ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, THE POWER STEERING, TIRE PRESSURE MEASURING SYSTEM, TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, LANE DEPARTURE, AND FORWARD COLLISION WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAMBRIDGE HONDA (275 FRESH POND PKWY, CAMBRIDGE, MA 02138) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A VSA MODULATOR FAILURE, HOWEVER THE VSA MODULATOR PART WAS ON BACKORDER. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER SINCE THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. *DT

2014 HONDA ACCORD HAD VSA, ABS, TIRE PRESSURE AND EPS (STEERING) LIGHTS ALL COME ON AT RANDOM AND TURN OFF AT RANDOM. THERE IS ALSO A LOSS OF STEERING ACCURACY AT LOW SPEEDS (LOWER THAN 5MPH) ON FULL LOCK. ABS WOULD ENGAGE UNDER BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS - AT TIMES WHEN THE ABS WAS NOT NECESSARY TO HELP THE STOPPING OF THE VEHICLE, AS WELL AND ENGAGE AND RANDOM TIMES (10-25MPH ROUGHLY). HONDA DEALERSHIP WANTS $1920 TO FIX THE ISSUE, AND STATED THAT THEY SUGGEST NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. I FEEL THIS IS INDEED A SAFETY ISSUE FOR NOT ONLY THE DRIVER, BUT OTHERS ON THE ROAD. I AM MAKING THIS COMPLAINT SO THAT BOTH HONDA AND THE NHTSA CAN UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS HAPPENING AND CAN CORRECT IT AND RECALL IT. IF THE US GOVERNMENT MANDATES (SINCE SEPT 1, 2013) CARS MUST HAVE ABS AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (HONDA'S CALLS IT VSA) THAN HOW IS THIS OKAY TO LET HONDAS ON THE ROAD WITH THESE FAILURES. AT THE HIGH PRICE TO FIX THIS ISSUE I DOUBT MANY HONDA OWNERS ARE WILLING TO AFFORD IT.

MY 2014 HONDA ACCORD DOES NOT START INTERMITTENTLY. STARTED WHEN MY CAR HAD 40,000 MILES ON IT. I THOUGHT IT TO BE A BATTERY PROBLEM. HAD MY BATTERY TESTED AT ADVANCE AUTO PARTS AND MY BATTERY WAS GOOD. I STILL REPLACE IT. NEXT DAY, SAME PROBLEM. NO START UNTIL THE 8TH ATTEMPT. THE LOUD GRINDING THAT COME WITH THE FAIL ATTEMPT IS FRUSTRATING AND EMBARRASSING. TODAY AFTER 11 FAILED ATTEMPTS TO START MY CAR IT FINALLY STARTED ON THE 12TH TIME. I'M SO OVER HONDA AND THE CRAZY PART IS I OWN A 2007 HONDA ACCORD, A 2010 HONDA ACCORD AND THIS 2014 HONDA ACCORD. THE TWO OLDER YEARS GIVES ME 0 PROBLEMS WHILE THE NEWER ONE WITH LESS MILES GIVE ME SOOO MUCH TROUBLE. HONDA STAND UP AND BE THE REPUTABLE DEALER THAT CAUSED ME TO BUY HONDA IN THE FIRST PLACE. OH AND NEXT THE BRKES ARE NOTHING LIKE THE OLDER MODELS. U FEEL A SKIP AND YOU SLIDE. THESE BRAKES ARE BY FAR THE WORST

TRACTION LIGHT IS ON BRAKE LIGHT IS ON FCW LIGHT IS ON ABS LIGHT IS ON LDW LIGHT IS ON
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ABS, VBS AND STEERING LIGHTS ALL COME ON AT SAME TIME. BROUGHT INTO THE DEALER SHIP AS A SAFETY ISSUE. VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 103,000 MILES. DEALER RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND RESET SENSORS, SAID IT COULD BE A BAD MODULE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WOULD COST $1800 TO REPLACE. DROVE CAR FOR 2 DAYS ALL LIGHTS CAME BACK ON. QUESTIONED DEALER ABOUT MODULE AND HOW COMMON REPLACEMENT WAS. THEY SAID NEVER REPLACE THEM. RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND THAT IT IS VERY COMMON AND CAUSES MANY ISSUES, DEALER/ MANUFACTURER KNOWS OF ISSUE AND REFUSES TO CORRECT ISSUE IN CARS WITH MUCH LESS MILES. COMPLAINED TO DEALER WITH NO RESPONSE.

THE EPS,BRAKE, AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR MECHANIC WHO AFTER DOING DIAGNOSTICS TOLD US WE NEED TO TAKE OUR CAR TO A HONDA DEALER AND NOT DRIVE ANY MORE THAN WE HAD TO FOR SAFETY REASONS. THE DEALER DETERMINED IT WAS THE VSA MODULATOR AND COST $1788.78 TO REPAIR. REALLY DISGUSTED WITH HONDA AS I READ ONLINE WHERE THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OTHER HONDA OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM YET THERE IS STILL NO RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM!

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT LOW SPEEDS ON CITY STREETS THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION WARNING, ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE WARNING AND PARKING BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL ACTIVATED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A FAULTY VSA MODULATOR CONTROL UNIT, HONDA PART # 57110-T2G-L02. WHEN WE ATTEMPTED TO ORDER THE PART WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE PART IS BACKORDERED WITH NO EXPECTED RELEASE DATE. THAT WAS JUNE 2, 2020. TODAY IS JUNE 22, 2020 AND I CALLED HONDA AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULT. I BELIEVE THE WARNING INDICATORS ARE ACCURATELY COMMUNICATING THAT THESE SAFETY SYSTEMS ARE OFFLINE AND AM NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL I CAN REPAIR IT. IT SEEMS UNREASONABLE AND UNSAFE THAT HONDA CANNOT PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT FOR SUCH A CRUCIAL SAFETY-RELATED PART. *TR

I TURNED MY CAR ON ONE DAY AND THE LIGHT WITH THE CAR AND A SQUIGGLY LINE UNDER STARTED FLASHING THEN MOMENTS LATER THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT WITH THE EXCLAMATION MARK CAME ON THEN WEEKS FOLLOWING THE STEERING WHEEL LIGHT WITH THE ! CAME ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE TIRE PLACE TO CHECK AND THEY SAID NOTHING IS WRONG AND AFTER MONTHS OF GOING BACK ALMOST WEEKLY AT THIS POINT ONE OF THE TECHS SAYS HE HEARD OTHER HONDA ACCORD'S WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND THAT IT MAY BE A FALSE READING. THEN AFTER SOME WEEKS MY ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. AT FIRST IT WAS ONLY IN THE AFTERNOON OR LATER THESE LIGHT WOULD COME ON BUT NOW IT'S WHENEVER. SOMETIMES THEY GO OFF AFTER I START DRIVING BUT THEN THEY EVENTUALLY COME BACK ON. I LOOKED ON GOOGLE AND IT APPEARS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS STATING THERE WAS SOME KIND OF FAULTY BOX THINGY THAT IS USED TO COMMUNICATE BETWEEN THE LIGHTS GOING OFF AND THE CAR. I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET SOMEONE TO DO ALL OF THIS AND IF THERE ARE OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM DID HONDA USE A FAULTY PART AS OTHERS ARE SAYING? PLEASE HELP

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CAPITOL HONDA (745 WEST CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY, CAPITOL EXPRESSWAY AUTO MALL, SAN JOSE, CA 95136, (408) 675-5884) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. DEALER IDENTIFIED PROBLEM AS VSA MODULE FAILURE. COST TO REPLACE IS $1550.00 PLUS LABOR. VSA MODULE FAILURE IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED AS A SAFETY RECALL. CAR THAT NEARLY HIT ME WAS DRIVEN BY OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICER WHO WAS NOT HAPPY. TOOK CAR IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER FOR SERVICE. DEALER DID NOT HAVE PART TO CORRECT PROBLEM. DEALER DEMANDED THAT CAR REMAIN AT DEALER DUE TO BEING UNSAFE TO DRIVE. DEALER WAS KIND ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A LOANER CAR UNTIL REPAIRS CAN BE MADE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES!

THE YAW SENSOR WENT OUT ON THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM, OUT TAKING EVERYTHING WITH IT'ABS, STABILITY CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION, LAIN WATCH, AND THE POWER STARING MONITOR. YOU COULD FEEL THE ABS MOTOR WORKING FOR NO REASON EVEN WITHOUT BRAKING. HONDA REPLACED THE ABS CONTROL MODULE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MY CONCERN IS AS EXPENSIVE AS IT WAS, I'M WORRIED OTHERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD THE FIX AND WE WILL HAVE OTHER CARS OUT THERE WITHOUT THE BASIC SAFETY SYSTEMS IN PLACE.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2013 HONDA ACCORD FOR SIMILAR ISSUES. THE VEHICLE WILL AT TIMES NOT START AND ONLY MAKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN DEPRESSING THE START BUTTON, THIS STILL OCCURRING AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY AND STARTER TWICE IN ADDITION TO THE FOB BATTERY. I SPECULATE THAT THE BRAKING SYSTEM MAY CONTRIBUTE TO THIS ISSUE AS SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL START AFTER PUMPING/PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL A FEW TIMES OR JUST HOLDING IT AFTER INITIAL ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR (VERY FRUSTRATING). NEW ISSUE INVOLVES THE CAR STARTING WHILE ONLY PRESSING THE BRAKE AND MOVING THE GEAR SHIFTER (DANGEROUS AS A KID CAN START THE VEHICLE WITHOUT PRESSING THE START BUTTON). HAVE REPORTED THE ISSUE TO HONDA (LOCAL/CALIFORNIA MAIN) AND SPOKE TO A HONDA REPRESENTATIVE YESTERDAY (5/7/2019) TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE ISSUES A RECALL FOR THESE CARS HAVING THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT, OR WORSE, LOOSES THEIR LIVES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS AND IS ALMOST ON A DAILY BASIS, LAST EVEN WAS TODAY.
3 LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON MY DASH, TRACTION CONTROL, POWER STEERING, AND TPMS. DEALER SAYS ITS THE ABS MODULE. AT ONLY 53,000 MILES, I BELIEVE THIS IS PREMATURE FAILURE. POOR DESIGN ON HONDA BEHALF. SAME WITH THE SMALL OEM BATTERY HONDA PUTS IN THESE VEHICLES. ALSO FAILED PREMATURELY. HONDA NEEDS TO ISSUE RECALL FOR ABS MODULE. VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND TOOK 5 ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE, VEHICLE WOULD START AND STALL, AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS VEHICLE STAYED ON WITH 3 WARNING LIGHTS AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY.

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY (2014 HONDA ACCORD, 42000 MILE) WARNING LIGHTS FOR BRAKES, ELEC. STABILITY CONTROL (VSA VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST), POWER STEERING, AND ABC CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR WHILE. THEY STARTED THEN TO GO AWAY FOR A FEW MILES THEN STAY ON MOST OF THE TIME. THE CAR ABS SYSTEM STARTED ACTING UP WHEN BRAKING AND ABS DOES NOT ENGAGE. I HAD IT CHECKED AT THE DEALER ON AUGUST 21, 2018 AND THEY INDICATED THAT THE VSA MODULATOR NEEDS REPLACEMENT AND IT IS COMMUNICATING WITH OTHER SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS AND CAUSING ALL 4 WARNING LIGHTS TO COME ON. THEY SAID THE REPAIR WILL COST $1565.00. THIS FAILURE IS VERY PREMATURE FOR SUCH A CAR THAN HAD ONLY 42,000 MILES AT THE TIME IT OCCURRED.

'TAKATA RECALL' RECENTLY I PURCHASED A 2014 HONDA ACCORD FROM A DEALERSHIP WHICH MADE THIS MY FIRST CAR EVER. EVERYTHING WAS GOING RIGHT UP UNTIL 3 MONTHS OF ME HAVING THE CAR. MY BRAKES WENT OUT WITHOUT ME KNOWING BECAUSE SOMEONE FROM THAT DEALERSHIP BROKE OFF THE LITTLE CHIP THAT MAKES THE SQUEAKING NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO EXPLAIN TO THEM WHAT HAD HAPPEN SHOWING THEM THE EVIDENCE AND THEY MADE IT SEEM LIKE I WAS LYING WHILE DRIVING ON HWY 16 I ENDED UP HAVING A BLOWOUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR AND MESSED MY FRONT FENDER UP. TWO(2)MONTHS AFTER THAT IN MARCH I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW BATTERY BECAUSE THE BATTERY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR HAD DIED OUT. PRIOR TO THAT I NEVER KNEW THE ALTERNATIVE WAS THE REASON FOR THE BATTERY TO CONSTANTLY DIE OUT. ON MARCH 15 2018 I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW AND EVEN INSPECT MY CAR WHEN ONE OF THE MANAGER CAME TO TALK TO ME HE SAID THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE MY WARRANTY WAS ONLY 30DAYS. NOW NOT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT A WARRANTY HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO KNOW OR KNEW ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS WERE GOING TO HAPPEN. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT A MANUFACTURER WARRANTY I WAS TOLD I DIDN'T HAVE ONE AND THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP ME WITH MY CAR. MAY 10 2018 MY FRIEND FOUND OUT SHE HAD A RECALL ON HER STARTER AND WENT AND GOT ANOTHER ONE. NOW WHEN I LOCKED UP THE HONDA RECALLS I SEEN THERE WERE TWO: ONE FOR THE BATTERY AND THE SECOND WAS FOR THE STARTER. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN LEAVING VOICEMAILS AFTER VOICEMAIL UNTIL I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE AND JUST WENT UP THERE. AS I WALK IN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE PERSON WHO WAS IN A HIRE POSITION. AS WE ARE TALKING HE ASK ME HOW LONG I HAD THE CAR, HOW MANY MILES, AND THE QUESTION OF ALL WHEN IS YOUR WARRANTY EXPIRED. AFTER HE FOUND OUT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO FOR ME. I PAY 400 AND HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR YET.

THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ALWAYS START WHEN YOU PRESSED THE START BUTTON AND ONLY CLICKS. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS IF THE CAR STALLS IN A BUSY INTERSECTION OR RAIL ROAD CROSSING AND THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE STARTED. TO START THE VEHICLE (KEYLESS W/FOB), YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE START BUTTON. IT APPEARS THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE AND THE STARTING OF THE CAR MAY BE PART OF THE ISSUE AS WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR WILL MORE LIKELY START WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS SOFT VS. HARD. NOT SURE IF THE ISSUE IS ISOLATED TO THE START BUTTON, BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, BOTH OR THE ELECTRONICS THAT INTERACTS WHEN THESE TWO. ANY ASSISTANCE THAT YOU MAY PROVIDE WITH THIS ISSUE IS APPRECIATED. THANK YOU

OUR 2014 HONDA ACCORD (PURCHASED "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED") HAS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE. FIRST OF ALL THE CAR HAS 53,000 MILES. HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY; SINCE REPLACING THE BATTERY, A MYRIAD OF LIGHTS COME AND GO ON THE DASH FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH. NOW THE LIGHTS ARE STAYING ON - BRAKE, ABS, FCW, LDW, STEERING ASSIST. DEALER SAYS "PROBABLY" THE ABS MODULE ($1400). LAUNCHED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH HONDA AMERICA - THEY TELL ME TO TAKE IT IN AND HAVE IT CHECKED. MY QUESTION(S) WERE (A) BY SPENDING $1400, IS THIS GOING TO FIX IT OR WILL IT "PROBABLY" FIX IT. (B) HOW LONG BEFORE IT HAPPENS AGAIN?- KEEP IN MIND THE FIRST ONE LASTED 53,000 MILES (C) HOW DANGEROUS IS THIS? NO ANSWERS TO ANY OF THESE QUESTIONS WERE ANSWERED; THE ONLY THING THAT WAS CLEAR WAS THAT IT WASN'T A WIDESPREAD ISSUE BECAUSE THE NHSTA OR HONDA HADN'T ISSUED ANY KIND OF TSB OR RECALL. I THOUGHT IT WAS SOMEWHAT TELLING WHEN I CALLED ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, SPOKE WITH THE DESK PERSON IN SERVICE. WHILE OVER THE PHONE, EXPLAINED THE LIGHTS THAT WERE ON - THE ANSWER OF "IT'S THE ABS MODULE" WAS INSTANT. FOR SOMETHING THAT ISN'T "COMMON" OR WIDESPREAD, THIS WAS A VERY QUICK REPLY. ALSO A GOOGLE SEARCH TURNS UP OTHER ISSUES JUST LIKE THE ONE WE ARE HAVING. JUST WONDER HOW SAFE THIS IS?

THE DEALER'S GENERAL MANAGER WAS TAKEN FOR A TEST DRIVE, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V418000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE. I NOTICED THAT BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND 4 DIFFERENT WARNING LIGHTS CAME OUT AT THE SAME TIME(ABS, BRAKE, VSA, ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING), I WENT TO BRAMAN HONDA DEALER LOCATED AT 7000 CORAL WAY MIAMI, FL.33155 ON 11/20/17, THEY CHANGED VSA MODULATOR AND THEY CHARGED ME $1263.09. SINCE THIS HAVE TO DO WITH SAFETY AND THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 29,000MILES, I DECIDED TO CONTACT AMERICAN HONDA BUT THEY DID NOT HELP ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR BECAUSE THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. I REALLY WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AND CALL FOR SAFETY RECALL ASAP SINCE I COULD BE DEAD. I KNOW THAT MANY OTHER HONDAS FROM SAME YEAR ARE REPORTING SAME COMPLAINT. I HAVE BEEN DOING THE SERVICE WITH HONDA OF CONCORD SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THEM SINCE 2015. MY CAR TIRES GOT BURSTED THIS YEAR(2017) AND I WENT WITH MY INSURANCE THROUGH HONDA OF CONCORD COLLISION CENTER TO FIX THE SAME. DURING JAN 2017, THE HONDA CHECKED ALL MY TIRES AS PER MY INSURANCE FIXES ONLY 2 TIRES AND NEVER REPORTED ANY ISSUES WITH MY OTHER 2 TIRES. EVEN THE SERVICE STATION, WHERE I HAD BEEN DOING MY SERVICE SINCE 2015, DID NOT SUGGEST OR DID MY TIRE ALIGNMENT. HOWEVER, PROACTIVELY, I DID MY TIRE ALIGNMENT @ 26000 MILES, WHEN HONDA OF CONCORD COLLISION CENTER REPLACED MY TIRES. AFTER THAT I HAVE DONE TIRE ROTATIONS, ROUTINE CHECK WITH OIL FILLS WITH HONDA OF CONCORD SERVICE STATION. SINCE MY SERVICE, IN THE PAST ONE MONTH, I HAD MY TPMS LIGHT ON FOR 3 TIMES, EVERY TIME I CALLED HONDA, THEY ASKED ME TO RESET IT MYSELF IN THE CAR, WHICH I DID. BUT, I FELT BEFORE MY WARRANTY EXPIRES AROUND 36 K MILES, I CALLED IN HONDA FOR APPOINTMENT SEP 2017. TODAY, WHEN I DROPPED MY CAR, HONDA SERVICE GUYS CALLED ME AND SAID, I OWN RESPONSIBILITY IN CHANGING MY TIRES WHICH HAS WEAR AND TEAR COVER TILL 60 K MILES AND I SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY TO CHANGE BRAKES AT REAR END, FLUIDS, ETC ETC.. WHEN I ASKED ABOUT MY WARRANTY ON TIRES AND BRAKES.. THEY WERE RELUCTANT AND SAID ITS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ALL OF A SUDDEN. I HAD GIVEN CAR FOR SERVICE ONLY A MONTH BACK, WHERE I ASKED THEM TO CHECK EVERYTHING AND I BELIEVE, THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING, SINCE THEY ARE REPORTING ME NOW TO DRIVE AS UNSAFE AND NOT AT THE TIME OF TIRE ROTATION OR CHECKS. THIS IS VERY BAD AND DINT EXPECT FROM HONDA
AS I MADE A RIGHT TURN TO THE PARKING SPOT WITH MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE PEDAL I SLOWED DOWN TO 2-3 MPH WITH FOOT STILL ON THE BRAKE. AT ABOUT 1-2 FEET FROM THE CONCRETE RETAINING WALL LIMITING THE PARKING SPOT I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE FOR THE FINAL STOP. CAR ACCELERATED WILDLY AND HIT THE CONCRETE RETAINING WALL AHEAD. MY FOOT HAD NEVER LEFT THE BRAKE. AIR BAGS DID NOT INFLATE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION 2-3 MPH, ON A PARKING LOT. ACCELERATION HAPPENED WHEN I WAS BREAKING.

WHEN BRAKING, THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DECIDES TO SPONTANEOUSLY, VIOLENTLY, AND UNEXPECTEDLY TAKE CONTROL AND LOCK-UP THE BRAKES CAUSING THE PASSENGERS TO BE THROWN FORWARD AND THE VEHICLE TO STOP IN A MANNER NOT EXPECTED BY FOLLOWING TRAFFIC (OR THE DRIVER). THIS PUTS THE VEHICLE AND PASSENGERS AT RISK OF REAR-END COLLISION. THIS SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE PERCEIVES A NEARBY OBJECT AS A HAZARD (IE VEHICLE AHEAD MIGHT SLOW TO TURN RIGHT,, VEHICLE IN NEXT LANE APPEARS TO BE TRAVELING AT A MUCH SLOWER SPEED, WHEN CHANGING LANES TO PASS A SLOW-MOVING VEHICLE IN THE LANE DRIVER IS DEPARTING). THIS HAS HAPPENED ON AT LEAST FOUR OCCASIONS IN THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS. I SEE AT LEASE FOUR SIMILAR CASES FILED ON THE NHTSA SITE (10892728, 10895657, 10521912, 10503138), ALSO IN 2013 AND LATER HONDA ACCORDS. *TR
