The LED strip on my headlights overheated and failed, they are no longer operating. I am unable to use this safety feature on my car.

Steering wheel locked up and all dashboard lights turned on while driving
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that after the battery was replaced, the headlight and low brake fluid warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Passenger side Daytime running lights are not working. Drivers side Daytime running lights only half are working.
The daytime running light went out on the drivers side.
Both low beam headlights burn out at the "same time". This has happened twice in 1 year. I have not had any inspections done yet. If this happens at night or in a tunnel it could be life threatening. Purchased used from a friend who has taken care of the vehicle. I have not checked with him to see if he ever had it happen due to he is no longer living here. First time I just replaced both bulbs and they worked fine. Now about 8 months later same problem. No moisture visible. High beams work but only when switch is in automatic mode. I will replace again, nothing else I can do at the moment.
Driver's side front LED lights went out. I do not see any reason for this, it just stopped working. I am worried this may be a safety issue as these LED lights are now permanently off.

THE PASSENGER SIDE DRL IN THAT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AS I AM TOLD IN THESE ACCORDS IS ALSO BURNING OUT IN TIME AFTER THE DRIVERS SIDE DOES, THEREFORE INCURRING ANOTHER HUGE EXPENSE. THESE DRL LIGHTS ARE LED AND SUPPOSED TO LAST FOR SEVERAL YEARS. AN ELECTRICAL FAULT CONTROLLING THESE LAMPS OR SOME KIND OF BAD ENGINEERING DESIGN ARE CAUSING THE FAILURE OF THE DRLS. THESE AUTOMOBILES WERE BUILT WITH THIS LIGHTING SYSTEM TO AID IN SAFETY ON OUR DANGEROUS ROADS AND OWNERS OF THESE AUTOS EXPECT THEM TO STAY WORKING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, TWO OR THREE WHEN PURCHASING A NEW CAR. TYPICALLY LEDS ARE MORE RELIABLE THAN HALOGEN OR INCANDESCENT WITH A LIFETIME OF ABOUT 30,000 HOURS. THE CAR IS USED NO MORE THAN 2 HOURS A DAY, MEANING IT WENT OUT IN NO MORE THAN 2,000 HOURS. HOWEVER, DUE TO DESIGN ISSUE, THIS LIGHT ALONE CANNOT BE REPLACED - THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY MUST BE REPLACED. WHILE HONDA DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS WAS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE, THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE IT. AND, PER MY RESEARCH, IT COSTS AT LEAST $600 TO REPLACE ONE ASSEMBLY. ACCORDINGLY TO CARCOMPLAINTS.COM, THIS IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH 2016 ACCORDS.

HONDA WILL NOT KEEP THAT CONTINUED CUSTOMER LOYALTY AND RETURN FROM CUSTOMERS WITH ISSUES LIKE THIS. I LEASED THIS VEHICLE AT A PURCHASE COST OF $27,000! IT IS ALMOST $1000 EACH TO REPLACE THESE STRIPS AS THE ENTIRE LIGHT HOUSING ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED TO FIX JUST THIS PART OF THE LIGHTS? THIS IS A HUGE DESIGN FLAW ON HONDA'S PART! AND TO EXPECT YOUR CUSTOMERS TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THESE REPAIRS IS UNACCEPTABLE. TECHNICALLY THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, SINCE THAT'S WHAT THIS FEATURE IS INTENDED TO BE USED FOR. AFTER RESEARCHING HOW COMMON OF A PROBLEM THIS IS, I WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR 2016 ACCORDS. HONDA HAS BEEN UNWILLING TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM AND CORRECT IT. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, THE HEAT SINK IS NOT PROPERLY DESIGNED OR SEATED ON THE OEM UNIT WHICH LEADS TO OVERHEATING AND PREMATURE FAILURE. HONDA NATIONAL CUSTOMER SUPPORT WAS OF ABSOLUTELY NO USE. THEY WOULD NOT CONFIRM A MODIFIED PART NUMBER THAT CORRECTED THIS PROBLEM AND REFERRED ME TO THE DEALER. MY 2016 HONDA ACCORD LX DRIVER'S SIDE LED RUNNING LIGHT FAILED AT 39,893 MILES. THE LED LIGHT SHOULD NOT OF FAILED THIS SOON AND HONDA SHOULD IDENTIFY THIS PART AS DEFECTIVE. TO REPLACE LED THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACED. THE LED IS A RUNNING LIGHT AND IS A CRITICAL TO VEHICLE OPERATION SAFETY. THE LED LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON WHEN THE LIGHT SETTING IS IN THE AUTO POSITION. THE LED LIGHT ALSO HELPS OTHER DRIVERS SEE THE VEHICLE IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS. NHTSA SHOULD REPORT NUMBERS TO HONDA AND HONDA SHOULD TAKE ACTION TO FIX THE ISSUE.

THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE LED STRIP LIGHTS ARE IMPORTANT WHEN DRIVING THROUGH SAFETY ZONES THAT REQUIRE HEADLIGHTS TO BE ON, OR AT NIGHT WHERE YOU NEED THE LIGHT TO SEE THE ROAD CLEARLY. LIGHTS ARE NOT WEAR AND TEAR PARTS, SO SHOULD NOT BE IMPACTED BY DRIVING 60 MILES IN EACH DIRECTION. WITHIN MINUTES, ALL INTERIOR DASHBOARD LIGHTS FAILED ALSO. I WAS TRAVELING AT 60 MPH THROUGH THIS VERY DANGEROUS MOUNTAIN PASS WITH NO INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR LIGHTS IN THE DARK IN AN UNLIT RURAL AREA, CARS PASSING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I PUT ON MY FLASHERS SO THAT APPROACHING CARS COULD DETECT MY PRESENCE AND NOT RUN OVER ME. THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS APPEARED TO BE WORKING BUT I QUICKLY REALIZED AS A PICKUP TRUCK APPROACHED MY REAR END AT ABOUT 75 MPH. THAT THE DRIVER COULD NOT SEE ME. AT THE LAST SECOND, HE SWERVED INTO THE LEFT LANE. TWO MORE CARS NEARLY RAN INTO ME SO I KNEW THE FLASHERS WERE NOT WORKING EITHER. I HAD NO IDEA OF HOW FAST I WAS GOING BECAUSE I COULD NOT READ THE SPEEDOMETER. TRIED TO ADJUST THE LIGHTS WITH NO SUCCESS. NO BRIGHT LIGHTS EITHER. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO EXIT AT A RURAL PLACE WITH A FIREWORKS STORE, BUT IT WAS CLOSED. I TURNED OFF THE CAR; I WAS TERRIFIED. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS CAME BACK ON BUT NO DASH LIGHTS. A MAN LEAVING THE STORE GAVE ME A HIGH POWER FLASHLIGHT TO PUT ON THE DASH TO ENABLE ME TO SEE THE SPEEDOMETER. I DROVE 10-12 MILES BEFORE I GOT TO LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN AND WAS ABLE TO GET A HOTEL ROOM. I DROVE TO ECONOMY HONDA IN CHATTANOOGA, TN THE NEXT MORNING. AFTER EXAMINING MY NEW ACCORD (<6600 MILES, PURCHASED NEW IN OCTOBER 2016) FOR A WEEK, HONDA WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. IN FACT, ACCORDING TO HONDA, THEY CANNOT DETERMINE THAT AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE OCCURRED AT ALL. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM VERY UPSET & CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
