The car will suddenly have a high-pitched screaming coming from the speakers for no apparent reason with no way to stop the noise. Turning the sound system to zero volume or even turning the power to the radio off does not stop the noise. I have measured the decibel level between 80 -128 decibels with no way to make it stop. I have had to stop the vehicle on the freeway multiple times and turn off the car engine for 15-20 minutes to make it stop. I have recorded the sounds if anyone is interested in hearing them I tried to upload a file but it wouldn't let me an Mp4 file. Honda swears they have never received this complaint before but my google search shows this is a known problem that costs between 2K - 4K to fix. This is a hazard and needs to be recalled. Please help. I paid 35K for this vehicle. I've been dealing with this issue for over 4 years. and I believe my hearing is becoming impaired because of this issue.
There is loud static noise coming from the radio that’s affecting all the speakers even when the radio is powered off the static is there, I checked online and found that a 2017 Honda Accord that’s experiencing the same issues. The sounds is absolutely nerve wrecking it triggered my autistic son that he no longer wants to ride in the vehicle because of the noise.
This 2017 Honda Accord has recently been making very loud static noises from the speakers. It gets so loud and the only way to turn it off is to turn off the engine and restart. The static noise always comes back though, so this is clearly a safety issue. On youtube, there are many people saying this same issue. I cannot upload my video, so here is one example: [XXX] My static is twice as loud as the one on this video. Thank you. My speakers randomly make this EXTREMELY loud static and even with volume off it doesn’t stop. It’s very distracting and hard to focus on driving while it’s going on! This has been happening almost everyday! Then it stops whenever it decides to! Sometimes for an hour!
The ABS/VSA module system malfunctioned/failed. Based on information on online forums and the independent service center I utilized…this has happened before with the 9th generation Honda Accords. As a result, there were issues with acceleration and, in particular, braking which created safety hazard. There were warning lights that went on and off at various times (inconsistently) which first appeared 2 months ago.
I own a 2017 Honda Accord “Touring” model that has developed an intermittent audio problem (described below) that is a safety issue because it causes serious driver distraction and impatience to reach a destination to turn the car off. There is NO WAY for the driver to stop the problem without turning the car completely off. Despite numerous reports from others (documented below), Honda has not issued a recall. It is hoping that a “goodwill discount” of 40% or so (offered only if the owner knows to demand it) will prevent a recall. The ONLY fix is to have a Honda dealer replace the OEM “audio head unit”. Without the “goodwill discount”, the installed cost is $1,400 - $1,600 to fix a condition that is obviously out of warranty. The problem is that in hot (85+) weather, even with the audio system turned OFF, a modest “scratching” sound begins from all speakers, gradually becoming a loud, continuous static which lasts for 3 or 4 minutes and then gradually tapers off to silence. If I turn audio power ON while this is occurring, the static instantly becomes intolerably loud until I turn audio power off; then the scratching continues for a few more minutes until it gradually disappears. When this problem is not occurring, the audio system plays normally. This problem is significantly frequent. 10,000 to 15,000 such cars were sold. •CarComplaints.com lists 170 such complaints under the Electrical System and Other Problems categories. •CarProblemZoo.com lists 99 general equipment complaints; the static noise issue stands out as the most common recent problem.. •DriveAccord.net, a popular owner forum: “2017 Accord Radio Static” has around 470 posts. That is a total of about 700+ reports of this problem, on 5 -7% of these vehicles. That is a safety problem that must be recalled! Problem first occurred in May 2025. More frequent in hot weather: 3 times in last 3 days. Symptoms occur randomly and don't last long enough to reach a dealer for diagnosis.
The backup camera is no longer working on my vehicle. There was no recall when there was one for other Honda vehicles with the same issue.
Honda Service Bulletin 21-018 extends the warranty on 2018-2020 Honda Accords for the A/C condenser to 10 years from the original date of purchase with unlimited miles. This afternoon, I paid over $1,700 to the dealer for a fully diagnosed and repaired condenser replacement. Given the near-identical failure mechanism and that the faulty condensers in question are likely from the same production-era manufacturing process, I respectfully request that Honda consider extending the same 10-year, unlimited-mileage warranty coverage to affected 2017 Accord models.
I am writing to formally raise a serious safety concern regarding a known and recurring defect in the infotainment/head unit system of my 2017 Honda Accord. Like many other Honda owners, I am experiencing unpredictable and extremely loud static or popping sounds through the speakers, which occur without warning while the vehicle is in operation. This issue significantly compromises vehicle safety. The sudden, blaring static drowns out critical audio alerts such as collision warnings, lane departure signals, and other safety-related notifications, placing me and others at increased risk while driving. Upon bringing this issue to a certified Honda dealership, I was informed that the head unit cannot be disconnected, as it is integrated with the vehicle’s essential safety features. In other words, I am forced to choose between enduring a hazardous and disruptive audio malfunction or disabling key safety systems entirely—an unacceptable situation for any driver, particularly in a vehicle marketed as reliable and safe. Furthermore, I was advised that the only known solution is a full replacement of the head unit, which comes at a cost of approximately $1,800 out of pocket. It is deeply concerning that Honda is expecting customers to bear the cost of repairing a defect that is both widespread and clearly rooted in manufacturing or design flaws. Given the scope and severity of this issue, I urge Honda to take immediate and responsible action by issuing a recall or providing an extended warranty repair for all affected vehicles. I am requesting a formal response regarding how Honda plans to resolve this matter in my case and ensure the safety of its customers moving forward.
I have a 2017 Honda Accord that the back up camera is not working. I sent an incident report previously. I see the 2017 back up camera has a recall. How can I get my camera repaired? The broken camera did cause an accident.
MY BACK UP CAMERA WAS REPLACED IN 2018 DUE TO THE ORIGINAL ONE INSTALLED DURING THE MANUFACTURING STATE BEING DEFECTIVE AND GOING OUT WHILE STILL UNDER WARRANTY. LAST YEAR MY CAMERA QUIT PROJECTING AN IMAGE ON THE SCREEN. I CAN ONLY SEE THE DIRECTIONAL LINES ON THE SCREEN WHEN IN REVERSE THAT CHANGE COLOR AND APPEARS TO WORK IF I AM OUT OF THE PARKING LINES AND THE SCREEN IS BLACK. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE THE CAMERA WILL FLASH AN IMAGE FOR A NANOSECOND ON THE SCREEN BEFORE GOING BLACK. I HAVE GONE TO HONDA REGARDING THIS BUT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE MY VIN IS A 2017. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I AM UNABLE TO SEE WHEN BACKING OUT. PLEASE CONSIDER EXTENDING THIS RECALL TO INCLUDE THE 2017 HONDA ACCORDS. I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE.
There is a A/C Condenser Leak on the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid similar to the ones that happened on the Honda Civics of this time period. The Honda Civics got extended warranties for the Condenser Leaks, but the Honda Accords did not. Please add the Honda Accords from 2017 and the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrids to the Recall List needing Extended Warranties and Technical Service Bulletins on the Leaks in the A/C Condensers that Honda should cover, extend the Warranty and fix. Thanks.
Radio emits loud static, on or off. Sometimes starts low and builds to high volume, sometimes full blast without warning. Cannot be silenced without stopping car and turning off. Dangerous especially in traffic. Honda defect reporting phone line acted as if they never heard such a thing, same from the service manager where the car was purchased new. Different honda dealer service manager said same. I told him online forums were loaded with reports just like mine. I asked him to take out his phone and search 2017 honda accord radio static....he said yeah I guess there alot of reports of this issue. I made one last at my original dealership to see if there was a recall in the works for the defective radio head. New from honda 2300 dollars just for the part. Definitely a safety Hazzard from a defective part. Problem is so pervasive multiple repair services have sprung up for this series of radios. All told cost me 500 dollars to do myself. Radio head has many functions including back up camera which is gone with fuse pulled. Honda lied to me when they acted as if they never heard of such failures. Last service manager admitted we change a couple of these radio heads a week.
Car speakers makes unbearable loud static noise even after audio is turned off .
The speakers and sound system emit a VERY loud static sound that is often accompanied by computerized sounds. It usually happens after I've been driving the vehicle for about 10-15 minutes. It seems to be coming from the head unit/radio unit, but the sound will continue even if I completely turn off the radio/sound system. It's so loud that it's often hard to concentrate and is going to damage my hearing if it persists. It started happening shortly after my car turned over to 100K miles. There are hundreds and maybe thousands of other Honda Accord owners who have posted online about this VERY same issue (usually 2017) and the Honda dealers recommend replacing the entire unit to the tune of $4-5,000. This is a manufacturer defect!! The ONLY thing that stops the noise is to pull over, turn the car off, and wait 10-15 minutes, but sometimes the sound starts right up again. I have not yet taken my car to the dealer or a repair shop due to the hundreds/thousands of other posts online stating the exact same problem and the recommendation by Honda being to replace a part that was manufactured defectively. The sound is VERY loud and I cannot drive my car very far unless I just want to put up with it and try to ignore it. Even if I put headphones in my ears (which I don't when driving as that's unsafe), I can STILL hear the static. Honda needs to issue a recall for this problem and fix it!
There appears to be a model-wide problem with 2017 Honda Accord audio system that manifests in screeching static noise through audio speakers (whether the radio is turned on or not) at decibels in excess of 100 (sounds like a lawnmower being operated inside a closed 4 door sedan). This noise comes with no warning (or waring lights) and shocks the senses that can cause erratic vehicle operation. Once the noise starts, it will last varying lengths of time that include in excess of 12 minutes. The only means to make it stop is by turning off the car, which is not easy or safe if highway driving. The screeching is so loud, it is impossible to hear emergency sirens or honking horns, making this a serious safety issue. This is also very distracting -- imagine a passenger screaming in your ear as loud as they can non-stop -- simply not conducive to safe driving! Honda of America acts like they have never heard of this issue (I can see that many, many 2017 Accord owners have reported this very issue over the last several years). Dealer diagnostics reveal nothing. They only recommend replacing the entire audio head unit ($4K) and owner expense. For a car that is only 7 years old, it is not working as intended. A recall seems warranted. This has been going on over a month now and is getting progressively worse. Please help us. [XXX] Please open this video to hear the problem. LOUD crackling static noise coming from all stereo speakers randomly. Nothing can stop this loud static noise, except by pulling over off the road and restarting the vehicle. This happens randomly and does not matter whether you are using bluetooth or not using bluetooth, plugged in charging using USB or listening to music on phone with USB. The radio can be completely shut off and nothing playing or plugged in and it will start with decibels so loud it is dangerous to adults and children's hearing and again can only be stopped by pulling off the road and restarting the vehicle, the silence of static may only last a few minutes to an hour but will start again every single time I drive my 17 Accord. There are many forums out there with 17 Honda Accord owners having the same issue. I believe Honda has addressed the Pilot, Odyssey, ridgeline etc. models for infotainment problems, but I really think they should address the 2017 Accord also, this is impossible to drive this Accord to anywhere of distance.
Loud static noise from audio after car turned on for around 5 minutes. This is very unsafe to drive and can't hear anything surrounding when driving. I also searched online and youtube and also found lot of car owners of Honda Accord 2016, 2017 have similar issues. I also brought car to dealerships but they couldn't find the issue. This issues have been started since June 2024 until now unsolved. Can't upload any files since this is audio static noise issue. Please help us.
After driving for about 20 -30 minutes there is a very, very loud noise that appears to come from the stereo speakers (even if the stereo system isn’t on). It is so loud that I do not hear emergency personnel coming. It has been several occasions that an accident is almost caused because of not being able to hear police or ambulance sirens. It just started happening out of nowhere. I have all factory equipment on the vehicle so I’m not sure why this is happening. Honda really need to fix this before there are fatalities.
Past couple weeks, there is loud static noise coming from speaker after 15 to 20 minutes drive. It is impossible to stop and it is so loud that affects the driving, and easily causing accident if the driver not calming down. Sometime there is noise coming from the back amplifier, even I shut down the audio system.
Infotainment system sends out massive distortion, crackling and popping noises through all of the car, audio speakers. Extremely loud and will even happen when you have pushed the power off button to the audio system. Car is undrivable. It’s so loud and could see someone being startled on the highway when this starts. It’s very frequent in hot weather and can stop and start very suddenly. This is all original Honda parts. No modifications.
Belt tensioner seized causing serpentine belt to slip and fail and loss of steering.
Back passenger door will not lock /unlock unless you do it manually..Daytime running lights on drivers side out and you have limited area of light at dusk/dawn.car is available for inspection
The paint on the hood of the car contains several chips and the paint on the entire hood has faded and has lost its color which was black, The appearance now appears to be faulted.
BACKUP CAMERA SHOWS BLACK WHEN CAR PUT IN REVERSE. IS THIS THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALL FOR 2018 HONDA ACCORD?
I have a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. The Audio System or Radio has now become dangerous. I filed a complaint with American Honda and they said I had to take it to the dealer for diagnostic and that no Recall or Technical Service Bulletin on my car Audio exists. I created a YouTube video to show the problem. I contacted my local Honda Dealer but they want me to pay a Diagnostic fee. It is over $190 to diagnose the Audio system and no guarantee to fix. Replacement is estimated to be around $2,000. American Honda Customer Service should waive the diagnosis fee or reimburse me for any such independent dealer diagnosis fee. Here is my Youtube video complaint link: [XXX] I am asking for Honda America to Pay for or Reimburse me for getting a Diagnostic on my Audio System from any independent Honda Dealer. I am asking that based on previous customer complaints searchable on the internet that a Technical Service Bulletin or Recall of Audio Systems for Honda Accords from 2017 be created. I am asking for a free replacement of my Audio System despite the warranty being expired because the Deafening and Piercing Sounds are a HAZARD and danger to drivers like myself. There is terrible and Very Loud and Piercing Static coming from the Audio system and speakers even when the Audio system is turned Off on the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. It's intermittent but happens very often and lasts a long time. Many forums also describe similar problems across Hondas and years. Please recall or service bulletin this problem. The sound of Static is deafening and can't be volume controlled. I have been suffering from deafening sounds of intermittent static from the Audio system in my 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. I can't afford to replace the Audio system and there are lots of Online comments from other owners with similar problems. Some say it is Antenna or loose wiring, but whatever the cause, it is dangerous and NHTSA should RECALL these cars. Backup camera failed. Honda is keeping cheap quality backup cameras that are failing easily. I have seen 1.2 million cars recalled for back up camera issues. My vehicle back up camera not working properly. Very frequently it shows black screen. It works some times and does not work sometimes. This is a serious safety issue. Honda should take responsibility for this. My car model is 2017 honda accord.
Vehicle stalled while travelling. I suspect this is a problem of the high pressure fuel pump gathering particulates and not working as proper. There is a similar recall regarding the V6 models of my vehicle, however, the 4 cylinder models were left unaddressed.
Speakers or Audio system. Randomly the speakers will get static or noise that comes through it with nothing plugged into it (USB or Bluetooth) and the radio can be off even. Safety issue that it gets progressively louder to the point where at hard to stay in car and drive it. Have to stop the car, turn it off and turn it on to keep driving but the sound returns if driving for more then 10 min. This might be issue that others having as well with 2016-2017 models. Below is link to audio from someone else that had similar issue [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Carplay freezes or disconnects randomly when in use. Will be driving with navigation is frozen so would be driving past destination and cause a distraction trying to fix it. Or it will randomly disconnect when in use and will keep my eyes of road trying to connect it again or hold my phone while navigating. Honda states there is no update to the system to resolve it or anything they can do, directs people to phone company regarding their system. Phone company states they cant do anything about it. Have read multiple forums with others complaining and no solution.
Hello, I have been having issue since I bought my car new it has about 48,000 miles on the on. The AC system I am having issue with for a very long time most of the time AC has intermittent issue will blow cold and will blow hot and will freeze and will see water splashing out of my vent. Please help I have called the dealer and they told me they cannot help me . I took it to one of the machines and they told me that they have a lot of issue with the system leaking. And to call North America Honda they will help you. Please you can contact me at [XXX] Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving on September 6, 2023 I sunroof exploded and had glass everywhere. I almost killed myself. Very very dangerous and Honda should be held accountable (Sunroof glass Exploded)
The audio entertainment system malfunctions and randomly makes extremely loud static noises, squealing, beeping, thumping and bass sounds, from all speakers. These noises can't be controlled or stopped, as they happen even when the audio is turned off. The noises are extremely unpleasant, uncomfortable, and loud enough to cause hearing loss. The noises happen randomly and startle the driver which can lead to accidents. The only way to stop the noises is to turn off the car, requiring the driver to pull over suddenly when the noise becomes unbearable, and often must turn off the car when stopped at red lights which is very dangerous. The dealer confirmed that Honda is aware of this problem, that the only remedy is to completely replace the audio entertainment system, and that the units are on back order and unavailable. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem, it just suddenly occurs. The noise began suddenly about two months ago, and has become increasingly louder and more frequent, to the point of happening every time the vehicle is operated and almost constantly while being operated.
Backup camera only shows a blank/black screen.
The rear backup camera quit working making it more dangerous to back up without it. The dealer was too busy to examine it for awhile. I believe it may be a cable problem like was identified on other Honda models recently because my camera screen is also blank.
My back-up camera stopped working at around 40,000 miles of driving. When I put my car in reverse, I only get a black screen. There was a similar recall done for back up cameras for Honda Accords in 2018, my car is a 2017. According to other owners online, many are having a similar issue. Thank you.
Infotainment system crashes/reboots while operating Apple CarPlay. Causing maps, music, and other functionality to be unresponsive. Some think it’s because of the CPU overheating inside the unit. It is available for inspection. This causes the driver to take their eyes off the road due to an unusual occurrence in the vehicle. Problem is hard to replicate. Happens randomly. Problem has not been inspected. Problem happens without warning and occurs in all conditions of driving/infotainment use. Problem first appeared after 3 months of ownership (January 2021).
My vehicle continuously loses battery charge, even when it’s being driven weekly.
No incidents
MY ISSUES STARTED WHEN I WAS DRIVING RIGHT HEAHLIGHT WENT OUT, AFTER REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULB MY CAR STRATED TO HAVE ISSUES STARTING. ONE TIME YOU COULD TURN IT ON AND NEXT TIME IT WILL TRY TO TURN BUT LIGHT STARTED TO BLICK ON THE DASH BOARD. I TESTED BATTERY TWICE WITH O'RILEY AND HONDA AND HAD 100%. BATTERY PC WAS REPLACE AND CAR WAS WORKING FINE FOR A FEW DAYS. WHEN I WAS GOING TO WORK I NOTICE RIDE SIDE LED LIGHT WAS OFF HALF WAY AND WHEN I TURN THE CAR DID NOTICE RIGHT BULB WAS OUT AND I HAD REPLACE ONE SIDE ALREADY. WHEN I TRY TO FIX THE BULB IS DID TURN ONAS IT SEEM THAT IS WAS LOOSE BUT THEN CAR TURN OFF. AFTER THIS INCIDENT BATTERY WAS DRAIN. THIS IS JUST STARTING AND MIGHT GET TO A STALLING VEHILCE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY SINCE IT DOES SEEM IT HAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS.
Apple Car Play freezes up on the 2017 Honda Accord while the navigation is in play, distracting the driver while on the freeway. The driver does not know when this freeze happens until they miss their exit, causing a big distraction. These cars are being sold as compatible with the Apple phones, but this is not true. American Honda is aware of the problem. Nothing is being done.
The car is stalling on the highway out of nowhere. Car won’t start back up for about 20 minutes. Car completely shuts off during traffic. Almost caused a big wreck with an 18 wheeler because I was unable to move the car out the middle lane because it shut off. Causing false codes to pop up. Very dangerous situation with my three small children in the car.
There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. NHTSA Recall 18V-629 This specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111 - Rear visibility. Due to a software error, the center display assembly that normally displays the rearview image may not provide the rearview image when the vehicle is reversing. Failure to display the rearview image may reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Based on my research the same software bug is affecting the earlier models as well As of today 5/3/2022 there is a youtube video titled "2013 2017 honda accord backup not working" 17,512 views Posted Dec 19, 2021 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omSIamlD2ok Due to the unique nature of this issue the view count of this video is significant. The only reason someone would find and view this video is because they also have this problem.
UNKNOWN My brother had a car accident and was deceased in it. Very disappointed in Honda's safety/crash ratings.
I purchased the car new on 9/16/16. I have had to replace the battery 4 times and I have had several incidents where the car froze/stalled, especially on left hand turns, for no reason, causing several near-misses from oncoming traffic. This is the record of car issues reported: 4/25/17 @ 9,197 miles – “freeze” issue first reported to the dealer. I did my best to describe it as a loss of power/unable to accelerate through an intersection. Upon a test drive with the service tech, I was unable to re-enact the problem. The dealer could not find any cause for the failure. 10/5/17 @ 15,604 mi - 2nd “freeze” issue reported. Dealer replaced battery stating dead cell was noted and instructed me to keep it out of ECO mode. 3/1/18 - Complained to Dealer that the car was idling rough. Could not find cause. 7/26/18 @ 26,363 mi - 3rd freeze issue complaint, however, no recommendations made. Also complained about idle and vibration in steering wheel. Could not find cause. 5/3/19 @ 36,660 mi - New battery purchased @ Interstate. 2/8/21 @ 56,785 mi - Battery purchased @ Honda for $188. Interstate refunded the purchase price of the battery from 5/19. 3/14/22 @ 73,924 mi - Battery replaced @ Honda. Dealer stated they noted the starter was sticking and it was replaced for $758. I continue to have issues with the car losing power in the middle of a turn, particularly when turning left and have adjusted the collision detection sensor. There are no warning lights or other indicators that I'm losing power... it just happens. I have adjusted by not attempting a turn in the presence of oncoming traffic.
My backup camera at first was blurry and now all I can see is black with either orange or yellow lines. I depend on this camera
Glitchy infotainment system crashes (specifically Apple CarPlay). Users have to unplug phone and plug it back in multiple times while driving.
I have continue to have issues with my navigation freezing. Then the whole navigation system will shut off and will eventually do a reboot in the middle of driving. It is definitely a safety hazard as you are trying to drive, navigate and try to figure out why your navigation system is breaking and not working working while driving. Especially If you are driving in an unfamiliar area using your navigation because you actually need it, then it becomes very frustrating and very dangerous and hazardous.
My 2017 Accord infotainment system's Apple carplay constantly freezes whenever I use it. This is posing as a safety risk because the infotainment unit would randomly freeze up and require shutting off the car and turning it back on in order for it to work again. There are multiple people experiencing this. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/2016-2017-honda-accord-carplay-issues.2287310/ https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/2016-accord-ex-l-apple-carplay-screen-freezes.554208/page-3#post-6821377
Back up camera stops working. 4 years of owner ship, 55,000 miles.
REAR-BACKUP CAMERA WENT BLACK AFTER I DROVE CAR TO PICK UP SON AT FRIENDS HOUSE AT NIGHT CAMERA WORKED, PARKED CAR OVERNIGHT, WENT TO USE CAR NEXT MORNING REAR CAMERA INOP, I THOUGHT IT WAS FUSE SO I CHECKED FUSE, NOT BLOWN.TOOK CAR IN TO HONDA DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS LATER STATED IT WAS P&A DUE TO FAILURE, EST. AT OVER $700 TO REPLACE. VERY UNHAPPY SINCE CAR IS ONLY 4YRS OLD AND ONLY 40K MILES. HOW DO HONDA OWNERS KNOW THAT THIS YEAR CAMERA WAS NOT AFFECTED LIKE THE RECALL ON THE 2018'S. WHAT IF SOME 2017'S HAD THE DEFECTIVE CAMERAS INSTALLED, SO I CALLED HONDA WAS TOLD NO RECALL ON CAMERA, BROUGHT UP THE 2018/ RECALL TO THE REP AND SHE STATED THIS DID NOT AFFECT MY VIN#. I WAS NOT SATISFIED AND WANTED THIS ISSUE TO BE REVIEWED SINCE THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE CAMERA. I FEEL THIS IS AN ISSUE HONDA SHOULD RECTIFY DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE RECALLS ON OVER THOUSAND OF OTHER CAMERAS IN THEIR OTHER VEHICLES. HONDA SHOULD STAND BY THE OEM PARTS THAT CAME WITH THE VEHICLE AND CORRECT THE SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING REAR CAMERAS THAT STOP WORKING. THIS IS A MULTI-DOLLAR INDUSTRY BECAUSE OF THE EVERYDAY PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF THAT PURCHASE THESE VEHICLES AND THAT IS WHY I FEEL HONDA SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY OF THEY DRIVERS AND OTHERS AROUND THEM AND ADD 2017 MODELS TO THEIR RECALL LIST INSTEAD OF MAKING THE CONSUMER PAY TO AN ABSURD AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX AN ISSUE WITH HONDA PARTS. HONDA NEEDS TO STAND BY THE CRAFTSMANSHIP OF THEIR PARTS AND VEHICLES JUST LIKE ANY OTHER BUSINESS AND MAKE IT RIGHT TO THE CONSUMER. I ALSO HAD ISSUES WHERE CAR WOULD FEEL LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE WHILE TURNING AND ACCELERATING, TOOK IT IN AND DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP, MADE IT SEEM LIKE THEY WERE DOING ME A FAVOR TO REPLACE IT SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY ONLY A FEW HUNDRED MILES WHEN IN FACT IT WAS A RECALL ON MY VIN#. IT HAS BEEN FIXED, DID I GET A LEMON?

REAR BACK-UP CAMERA FAILED ON CAR WITH LESS THAN 28,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED WITH A HIGH REAR, SO UNLESS THE BACK-UP CAMERA IS WORKING, THERE'S BLIND SPOTS WHEN REVERSING THE CAR. FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER RARE DEEP FREEZE/ICE/MOISTURE EVENT IN LATE FEB 2021. WONDERING IF MOISTURE GOT INTO CAMERA SOMEHOW.
REAR BACKUP CAMERA HAS FAILED. THERE IS SIMILAR NHTSA CAMPAIGN 18V629 THAT COVERS 2018 HONDA ACCORD BUT NOT 2017 HONDA ACCORD. THERE ARE SEVERAL USERS REPORTING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE REAR BACKUP CAMERA ON THE HONDA ACCORD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
BACK UP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING. IT ONLY DISPLAYS ORANGE LINES. WHEN TRYING TO ADJUST THE IMAGE THE SCREEN DISPLAYS STATIC LIKE LINES AND ALSO THE LIGHTS ON DISPLAY SCREEN GOES DIM. UNABLE TO GET CAMERA TO WORK. OWN CAR ONE YEAR WITH A LITTLE OVER 17,000 MILES AT TIME I PURCHASED. IT ONLY HAS 29,000 MILES ON IT NOW. NOT HAVING BACK UP CAMERA WORKING CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.

THERE ARE THREE THINGS CONCERNING TO ME, I'M ORDER OF IMPORTANCE: 1) WHEN I DRIVE IT'S ALMOST AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING THE WAY THE CAR JERKS. THE OTHER DAY MY GEAR IDENTIFIER KEPT BLINKING N/3 BACK & FORTH & A ERROR LIGHT POPPED UP INDICATING AN EMISSIONS ERROR & A TRANSMISSION ERROR. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR THE GEAR IDENTIFIER STOPPED BLINKING & JUST SHOWED D. I TOOK IT TO HONDA & THEY SAID THEY RECEIVED A P076 ERROR WHICH MEANS CONDEMNED TRANSMISSION, BUT AFTER THE REDOING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LIKE THEY HAD DONE A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO THE ISSUE & RERAN THE CODE NOTHING POPULATED ON THE DIAGNOSTICS. I WAS TOLD IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GLITCH. 2) MY NAVIGATION SCREEN GOES BLANK AT RANDOM MOMENTS WITH NO WARNING & WHEN ASKED JUST ADVISED NO UPDATES FOR IT SHOWING. 3) SOMETIMES MY BLUETOOTH WILL NOT CONNECT TO DEVICES OR I CAN LISTEN TO MUSIC, BUT CANNOT SPEAK WITH SOMEONE ON THE PHONE, THEY CANNOT HEAR ME & I CAN'T HEAR THEM, I HAVE TO PUT MY PHONE ON PRIVATE OR SPEAKER.

1/10/2020 CAR WOULDN'T START. NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS. CALLED HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE THEY PROVIDE A JUMP START IN WHICH THE CAR STARTED. DROVE THE CAR RIGHT TO DAVID HOBBS HONDA. THEY PERFORMED TEST WHICH SAID EVERYTHING. 6/4/2020 MY CAR DID THE EXACT SAME THING EXPECT THIS TIME I DID DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER GETTING A JUMP START. LATER THAT EVENING I WENT TO START THE CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. 6/5/2020 MORNING THE CAR WOULDN'T START. IN ALL INCIDENTS THE CAR WOULD TRY TO TURN ON BUT WOULDN'T, THE KEYLESS ENTRY WORKED, ALL LIGHTS WORKS. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ON ALL INCIDENTS. ALL INCIDENTS THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. 6/5/2020 MY CAR WAS TOWED TO DAVID HOBBS HONDA AND THEY NOTIFIED ME THE WAS COMPLETELY DEAD WHEN IT ARRIVED NOTHING WAS WORKING. THEY CALLED BACK LATER IN THE DAY AFTER DOING TESTING AND ONCE AGAIN SAID ALL TESTING WAS FINE. HOWEVER, THEY WOULD LIKE TO KEEP MY VEHICLE OVERNIGHT TO SEE IF MY CAR WOULD WORK IN THE MORNING AND TO DO TESTING AGAIN. MY VEHICLE IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR

WHEN DRIVING AT A VERY SLOW SPEED I CAN HEAR WHAT SOUNDS LIKE RUBBING. AS THE CAR GETS UP TO SPEED THE SOUND IS STILL THERE, BUT NOT AS NOTICEABLE WITH ALL OF THE OTHER NOISES DURING DRIVING. IT SOUNDS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE GETTING STUCK OR HAVE A SLOW RELEASE. THERE IS NO VISUAL DAMAGE TO THE ROTOR OR BRAKE PADS, BUT THE WHEEL NOISE IS STILL THERE. I'VE SEEN MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE WITH NO FIX AVAILABLE. I DON'T CARE IF ITS KNOWN TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THE TIRE/RIM PACKAGE, OR WHATEVER. FIX THE ISSUE! THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ON THE HUNT FOR THE FIX. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

I HAVE A 2017 ACCORD - IN SEPTEMBER 2019 THE BACKUP CAMERA LCD SCREEN STARTED TO FLICKER FOR A WEEK OR SO EACH TIME I PUT THE CAR INTO REVERSE. WHEN I CHANGED THE CAMERA ANGLE IT WOULD SOMETIMES COME BACK AND WORK WHILE BACKING UP, BUT THEN IT WENT TO A BLACK SCREEN ALTOGETHER. IT'S BEEN BLACK EVER SINCE, THE CAMERA GOES ON WHILE I REVERSE BUT NOTHING SHOWS ON THE LCD SCREEN BUT THE GUIDING YELLOW LINES. I WENT TO FIX THE CAMERA TODAY MYSELF AND NOTICED THE RECALL OF THE 2018 ACCORDS. I THINK THE SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING WITH THE 2017 ACCORD. I'D LIKE TO SEE HONDA TAKE RESPONSIBILITY RATHER THAN HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER $200-$350 TO FIX THIS. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY. HERE IS WHAT I FOUND THAT BROUGH ME TO THIS SITE. VEHICLES RECALLED: 232,140 OF THE 2018 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN AND 2019 HONDA INSIGHT HYBRID SEDAN. THE PROBLEM: THE BACKUP CAMERA MAY FAIL BECAUSE OF BAD SOFTWARE. THE FIX: DEALERS WILL REPROGRAM THE DISPLAY AUDIO UNIT SOFTWARE, AT NO CHARGE TO OWNERS. HOW TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER: THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN NOV. 5, 2018. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 888-234-2138. HONDA'S NUMBERS FOR THIS RECALL ARE K2G AND V2F. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V629
Mileage: 27,000
BACKUP CAMERA HAS BECOME BLURRY AND UPON RESEARCH ONLINE, THERE ARE OTHERS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2018 HONDA ACCORD VEHICLES, HOWEVER, THIS RECALL NEEDS TO APPLY TO ALL HONDA'S WITH BACK UP CAMERAS BECAUSE THIS IS DANGEROUS AS THE OWNER CANNOT SEE SOMETHING OR SOMEONE DUE TO HOW BLURRY IT IS.
Mileage: 33,800
REAR CAMERA HAS MALFUNCTIONED. THE DASHBOARD SCREEN SHOWS A BLACK BACKGROUND WITH HORIZONTAL 'VIBRATING ' LINES. 2018 HONDA ACCORDS HAD A RECALL FOR THIS BUT TO DATE THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL FOR THE 2017 ACCORDS ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM.

ON 9-12-2019, MY WIFE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN ACCELERATION WITH HER 2017 HONDA ACCORD. SHE TURNED INTO A PARKING SPACE AT A LOCAL FUNERAL HOME, STOPPED AND WAS ABOUT TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED, SURGING FORWARD OVER THE CURB, DOWN THE LANDSCAPED BANK, OVER ANOTHER CURB, CROSSED OVER A 2 LANE ROAD, OVER A CURB INTO A FAST FOOD ENTRANCE, OFF THE CURB, CONTINUING FORWARD AND HIT THE RIGHT REAR CLIP OF A CAR IN THE DRIVE THRU, OVER ANOTHER CURB AND FINALLY STOPPED AFTER HITTING A TREE. THE BREAKS DID NOT SLOW OR STOP THE CAR. THE CAR TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET BEFORE STRIKING THE TREE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED DUE TO ALL OF THE DAMAGE UNDERNEATH. I REPORTED THE ISSUE TO MY HONDA DEALER ON 9-13-19. THEY GAVE ME THE NUMBER TO THEIR NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS. HONDA SENT FIELD REPS OUT TO EXAMINE THE CAR AND TRY TO PULL ANY DATA. ON 10/10/19 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM HONDA STATING NO ISSUES FOUND. AFTER CHECKING THE INTERNET I FOUND OVER 150 ISSUES WITH SUDDEN ACCELERATION ISSUES WITH HONDA. THIS REOCCURRING ISSUE NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE IT RESULTS INTO SOMEONE DYING .

LAST NIGHT I HAD JUST GOTTEN HOME FROM WORKED AND GONE IN THE HOUSE TO CHANGE FOR CHURCH. LESS THAN 5 MINUTES LATER, I RETURNED TO MY CAR AND WHEN TRYING TO START IT, IT WOULD START UP. LIGHTS FLICKERED ON DASH, BUT IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER. HAD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE COME TO JUMP START CAR. LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. CAR WON'T START AFTER DRIVING THIS MORNING AND THIS AFTERNOON ALREADY. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HIS HAPPENED THIS YEAR, WITH IN A FEW MONTHS. CAR HAS LESS THAT 50K MILES. THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO BECAUSE IF I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS.

LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT WHEELS ON 2017 ACCORD SPORT SINCE ALMOST NEW. VERY NOTICEABLE AT LOWER SPEEDS. HONDA DEALER INSISTED GRINDING NOISE WAS FROM TIRE/RIM COMBINATION AND NOT ITEMS SUCH AS ROTORS, BRAKES, AND/OR WHEEL BEARINGS, ETC..

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS, THE EMISSIONS/ELECTRICAL/CHECK ENGINE ON THE 2017 HONDA ACCORD IS AN ISSUE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND I AM FINDING THAT THIS IS A COMMON ERROR ON THE 2016 HONDA'S AND NEWER. THE EMISSION ERROR SYSTEM HAS COME ON AGAIN. THE LAST TIME I HAD THIS PROBLEM THE CONVERTER HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE SYSTEM ERROR COMES ON WHEN DRIVING WHEN RAINING, WHICH MAKES ME BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ALSO A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AS WELL. I FIND THIS CONCERNING ON A NEW, 100 PERCENT DEALER MAINTAINED VEHICLE. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY AN ELECTRICAL/EMISSION PROBLEM IN THE SYSTEM AND IT REQUIRES AN INDEPENDENT PARTY TO REVIEW. THE TECH STATES NO ISSUE CAN ARISE FROM HAVING THE CHECK ENGINE/EMISSION LIGHT ON BUT THE CAR DOES TEND TO LOSE POWER DURING THESE ISSUES. HONDA OWNERS SHOULD NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR MANUFACTURE ERRORS.

RECENTLY TOOK MY CAR IN FOR CAR DOC MAINTENANCE FOR AND AN OIL CHANGE. PAPERWORK STATES THE BATTERY IS GOOD. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP AFTER MECHANIC BROUGHT MY VEHICLE OUT TO ME I JUMPED TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULDN'T START SO I INFORMED THE HONDA MECHANIC AND THEY GAVE ME A JUMP WITH THE JUMPER BOX. IT'S BEEN 1 MONTH SINCE THEN AND MY CAR WON'T START AT THE ODDEST TIMES EVEN AFTER I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR A WHILE. CAR WON'T START OR TURN OVER AND THE LIGHTS JUST FLICKER ON AND OFF. I'M CURRENTLY WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK TO GET A JUMP MY CAR IS PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND IT WON'T START. VERY FRUSTRATED WITH HONDA I HAD THE CAR LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND I HAVE LESS THAN 50K MILES

TIRE BEAD NOISE ON 2017 HONDA ACCORD SPORT WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES, TIRE MAKES ALOT OF NOISE WHEN DRIVING. HONDA REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND COVER IT UNDER WARRANTY AND DOES NOT OFFER ANY REPAIR. THEY EVEN CHARGED ME A DIAGNOSTICS FEE.

TAMARA RECALL - SOMETIMES BUT NOT ALL THERE IS HESITATION WHEN MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. OCCASIONALLY THIS WILL HAPPEN WITH RIGHT HAND TURNS BUT NOT AS OFTEN. MY HONDA ACCORD 2017 4 CYN ALL OF DASH BOARD LIGHTS LIT UP, THE STEERING WHEEL PARTIALLY LOCKED WHILE I WAS DRIVING GOING 55 MPH. I PULLED OVER AND COULDN'T CUT THE CAR OFF WITH MY START BUTTON. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO FINALLY CUT IT CUT OFF. THEN IT WOULD NOT START AT ALL. THEN AFTER ANOTHER 5 MINUTES IT STARTED AND I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP JANUARY 2019. ABOUT SEVEN MONTHS EARLIER, MY CAR WOULD START AT ALL. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY TOLD ME ONLY THING IT MIGHT BE WAS THE BATTERY, I BOUGHT A BATTERY AND MY CAR WAS ONLY 11 MONTHS OLD. RECENTLY, FEBRUARY 2019, NOW MY BATTERY IS 7 MONTHS OLD, MY CAR WOULDN'T START AGAIN. THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, BUT I AM HAVING ISSUES. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN I START MY CAR AND THE DASH LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON AND I HOLD THE BUTTON ON THE DASH AND THE SYSTEM REBOOT AND THE DASH LIGHT COME ON. MY CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AND NOW IT IS STARTING, BUT THE SAID EVERYTHING IS REGISTERING THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. I HAVE AN HUGE ISSUE BECAUSE I CAN'T BE STRAINED IN THIS COLD WINTER WEATHER AND MY CAR NOT STARTING. THIS IS UNSAFE BECAUSE I WAS IN MOTION LESS THAN A MONTH AGO ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH AND MY CAR FROZE IN MOTION. CJB FEBRUARY 2019

OVER THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS THE CAR WOULD NOT START WITHOUT REQUIRING A JUMP FOR THE BATTERY. THEN IT WOULD RUN, BUT ONCE THE CAR WAS OFF AND HAD TO BE RESTARTED IT WOULD REQUIRE ANOTHER JUMP. HAD THE BATTERY TESTED AND BROUGHT THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATE NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. (IT STARTED THERE NO PROBLEM). IT RAN FINE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, BUT CURRENTLY ITS PARKED AND WON'T START. THE ONLY LIGHTS THAT DISPLAYED WAS THE EPS WHICH TURNED OFF SHORTLY AFTER THE CAR STARTED.

THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE BY ITSELF, A CAR ONLY WITH 13,000 MILES AND 1 YEAR OF USAGE THAT MEANS ALMOST BRAND NEW CAR. I DROVE 9 MILES APROX. FROM HOME TO MY WORK LOCATION. WHEN I ARRIVE AND PARK THE CAR BEFORE GOING UPSTAIRS, I SAW THE CAR BLOWING UNUSUAL SMOKE FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, I OPENED THE HOOD AND I SAW THE FIRE WAS COMING BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE RADIATOR. I CALL THE 911 AND WHEN THEY ARRIVED THEY TRIED TO USE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER BUT THE FIRE STARTED GETTING OUT OF CONTROL, FORCING THEM TO USE THE WATER HOSE TO STOP THE FIRE. HONDA IS NOT TAKING CARE OF THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND NO BODY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED

THE TIRES THAT CAME WITH THE CAR ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR DRIVING IN WINTER CONDITIONS. THE TREAD PATTERN IS DESIGNED FOR DRY ROADS. THERE ARE NO CHANNELS FOR ACCUMULATING SLUSH, SNOW, ETC. TO EXIT THE TREAD TO THE SIDES. THIS CAUSES ACCUMULATION IN THE TREAD AND CAUSES HYDROPLANING AND COMPLETE LOSS OF TRACTION. LAST WINTER I ALMOST LOST TOTAL CONTROL OF THIS CAR WHILE ON THE EXPRESSWAY COMING NORTH FROM O'HARE ON I94 IN SLUSH. I TRIED ASKING THE KENOSHA, WISCONSIN DEALERSHIP TO PUT ALL SEASON RADIALS ON THE CAR AND THEY REFUSED, SAYING IF I WANTED TO PAY FOR DIFFERENT TIRES I COULD DO THAT. SELLING OR LEASING A VEHICLE IN A SPECIFIC GEOGRAPHICAL AREA SHOULD INCLUDE TIRES THAT ARE SUITED FOR SAID AREA. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN SNOW OR ANY SLIPPERY CONDITIONS DUE TO THE TIRES.

SO THERE ARE A FEW ISSUES WITH MY 2017 HONDA ACCORD SPORT FIRST ONE IS THE TIRE WHOOSHING SOUND IT MAKES I KNOW I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SAME THING AND I HAVE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING UNTIL A RECALL IS MADE VERY FRUSTRATING THAT I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL A RECALL IS MADE TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED SECOND ISSUE MY TPM KEEPS COMING ON I JUST TOOK IT FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND HAD THE TIRE PRESSURE CHECKED AND ADJUSTED AND BARLEY A DAY LATER IT COMES BACK ON THE THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS I CHECKED THE TIRES THEY ARE IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION LOTS OF LIFE ON THEM AND SAME RESPONSE FROM THE DEALER CAN'T DO ANYTHING SUPER FRUSTRATING THIRD ISSUE IS THAT WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE AND THE INSIDE OF MY CAR GETS HOT MY SCREEN SHUTS OFF I AM TALKING THIS ONE IN TO THE DEALER TO LEAVE IT HOPEFULLY THEY CAN GET IT FIXED AND DON'T GIVE ME THE SAME ANSWER AS I GOT FOR ALL MY OTHER ISSUES

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT BUMPER STARTED TO MELT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (DUBLIN HONDA, 6300 DUBLIN BLVD, DUBLIN, CA 94568), WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR THE BUMPER REPAIRS BUT STILL THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,661.

WHEN CAR IS RUNNING FOR AN HOUR OR MORE AND THEN STATIONARY (OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY) WITH THE CABIN AIR ON, THE SMELL OF GASOLINE IS COMING INTO THE CABIN AND IS VERY NOTICEABLE. I TOOK MY BABY DAUGHTER OUT FOR A DRIVE TO GET HER TO FALL ASLEEP AND WHEN I REACHED HOME I USUALLY SIT WITH HER IN THE CAR WHILE IT RUNS, BUT THE SMELL WAS SO STRONG THAT I HAD TO WAKE HER AND REMOVE HER FROM THE CAR. BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER TODAY (01/29/18) WHO NOTED NO GAS LEAKS AND STATED THAT GAS GAP WAS NOT AS TIGHT AS IT COULD BE, BUT IT SEEMS IMPROBABLE THAT IT WOULD CAUSE THAT MUCH OF A SMELL IN THE CABIN. SEEING SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOR HONDA CR-V AND FEEL LIKE THE DEALER COULD DO MORE EXPLORATION, BUT DIDN'T SO THEY COULD NOT DO FURTHER EXPLORATION OF THE ISSUE. THEY CLAIMED THEY COULD NOT SMELL THE GASOLINE BUT SOMETHING ELSE AND SAID IT WAS "OFF GASSING OF THE INTERNAL ENGINE COMPARTMENT CHEMICALS". BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I COULD SMELL GASOLINE.

THE VEHICLE I OWNED IS 2017 HONDA ACCORD TOURING. PROBLEM I DISCOVERED WAS CENTER CONSOLE SILVER STRIPE (PASSENGER SIDE) POP UP. I WENT TO DEALERSHIP HAVE IT FIXED. THE PROBLEM OCCURS EVERY MONTH, AND I AM GETTING TRIED TO FIX IT EVERY MONTH. THE SILVER STRIPE PIECE IS SHARP, COULD POSSIBLY CUT YOUR FINGER OR SKIN. I OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR ALMOST A YEAR, LIKE NEW, WITH LESS THAN 3K MILES ON IT.

TAKATA RECALL, IS MY CURRENT CAR UNDER RECALL FOR THE BAG INFLATOR?
THERE IS A LOUD WIND NOISE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE CAR. IT WAS NOTICEABLE WHEN I DROVE ON THE HIGHWAY ABOVE 60 MPH. I HAD IT EVALUATED BY THE HONDA CARE CENTER AND THEY REPLACED THE WINDOW STRIP; HOWEVER, ONCE I ACCELERATE PAST 40 MPH IT IS EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED TJAN BEFORE. I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE CENTER AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT FIXABLE AS IT IS IN THE DESIGN OF THE CAR. IT SEEMS HIGHLY UNLIKELY TO ME THAT ENGINEERS WOULD ALLOW A CAR ON THE ROAD WITH KNOWN "WIND ISSUES" OR A DESIGN FLAW. THIS IS MY FOURTH HONDA ACCORD AND NEVER HAS THIS BEEN AN ISSUE.
MY 2017 HONDA ACCORD (V-6) HAD NO ELECTRICAL POWER ON 9-17-2017. THERE WERE 800+ MILES ON THE CAR. THE CAR'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS DEAD; NO SIGN OF ELECTRICAL POWER AT ALL. THE CAR WAS TOWED (AT HONDA'S EXPENSE) TO A DEALER, NOT THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THE DEALER "CLEARED BATTERY CODES" AND THEN COULD FIND NOTHEING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY PROBLEMS SINCE WITH THE CAR WHICH NOW HAS 1,134 MILES ON IT

2017 ACCORD LX * AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION * 3000 MILES I HAVE NEW ACCORD LX AND THE I DROVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY, MY WIFE AND I NOTICED WIND NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR PANEL. WE CHECKED THAT ALL THE WINDOW AND DOORS WERE FIRMLY SHUT, BUT IT PERSISTED. NOW WITH THE RADIO OFF I NOTICE IT EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE TO ABOVE 40 MPH
ON THE NIGHT ON JULY 3, 2017 THE 2017 HONDA ACCORD WHICH WAS ONLY 5 WEEKS OLD WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF MY HOUSE. THE CAR WAS IN PARK AND THE MOTOR WAS TURNED OFF. YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY UNLESS THE CAR WAS IN PARK. THE CAR THAT WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF THE HONDA ACCORD WENT TO BACK OUT WITHOUT REALIZING A CAR WAS BEHIND IT. THE OTHER VEHICLE INVOLVED WAS A KIA OPTIMA. THE KIA OPTIMA LIGHTLY BUMPED THE HONDA ACCORD AND STOPPED AS SOON AS IT REALIZED THE HONDA WAS BEHIND IT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE HONDA ACCORD OR TO THE BACK OF THE KIA OPTIMA. THE HONDA ACCORD WAS PARKED ON A FLAT SURFACE AT THE TIME. WHEN THE KIA HIT THE HONDA THE HONDA ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND HIT A LIGHT POLE. THE ENTIRE LIGHT POLE CRASHED DOWN AND BROKE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL I SAW MY NEIGHBOR'S VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT. WE CONTACTED HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND OF COURSE AT FIRST THEY THOUGHT THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL THEY SAW THE VIDEO. AFTER A FEW DAYS HONDA GOT CORPORATE TECH SUPPORT INVOLVED AND WAS TOLD NOT TO RELEASE THE CAR BACK TO ME UNTIL THEY FOUND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. AFTER ABOUT A WEEK HONDA TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT AS A "PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE" THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THEY DID REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BUT SAID THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE DAMAGE TO THE BACK OF THE HONDA OR THE LIGHT POLE. I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND THE LIGHT POLE. A CAR THAT IS LIGHTLY BUMPED SHOULD NOT ROLL AWAY. IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE HAD A CHILD BEEN BEHIND THE CAR OR THE LIGHT POLE COULD HAVE CRASHED ONTO SOMETHING. I FEEL LIKE THEY FOUND SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND ARE COVERING UP FOR IT OTHERWISE IF THEY TRULY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION THEN WHY DID THEY REPLACE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

WHEN THE CAR OS PLACED ON REVERSE THE CAR WON'T GO BACK AND EVEN THOUGH I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR IT STRUGGLES TO GO BACK. THIS HAS BEEN DOING IT FOR THREE TIMES ALREADY FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 1 MONTH AND ALMOST BEEN IN 3 ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS FAULTY SYSTEM WHICH I AM NOW DEACTIVATING. I'VE DRIVEN VEHICLES WITH THESE BEFORE (FORD) AND IT NEVER WENT OFF LIKE THIS- THE SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS.

MY NEW ACCORD WITH A V6 ENGINE LIKES TO ENGINE BRAKE BY ITSELF. AS A RESULT IT WILL NOT COAST AND MAKES BRAKING UNPREDICTABLE AND VERY TIRING, ESPECIALLY WHEN DOING CITY DRIVING THAT INVOLVES STOP SIGNS AND RED LIGHTS. WHEN IN MEDIUM TRAFFIC BETWEEN 25 AND 40 MPH YOU CAN FEEL IT DOWNSHIFTING EVERY TIME. WHEN COMING TO A CORNER AND MAKING THE RIGHT TURN CAR JERKS AS IT DOWNSHIFTS OR UPSHIFTS. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP TWICE ON 6/23/17 AND ON 6/26/17 AND THEY FELT WHAT I WAS DESCRIBING BOTH TIMES AND DISMISSED IT AS NORMAL. THE CASE MANAGER I COMPLAINED TO ALSO DISMISSED IT AS NORMAL WHILE TREATING MY CONCERN AS NOTHING BUT A TYPICAL COMPLAINT INCLUDING WHEN I TOLD HIM THAT MY NECK JERKED ONE TIME AS A RESULT OF THE ROUGH SHIFTING. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPANIES ONLINE ABOUT THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE FOR THE 9TH GENERATION ACCORD AND EVEN OLDER MODELS, ALL WITH THE V6 ENGINE. FOR REFERENCE I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ON AN 05 ACCORD V6 ON WHICH THE SAME DEALER FELT THE ISSUE AND SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF BAD ENGINE MOUNTS. I HAD THOSE REPLACED AND THE ISSUE PERSISTED AND WHEN I TOOK IT IN AGAIN THEY CALLED IT NORMAL OPERATION OF THE TRANSMISSION AT THIS POINT (REALLY?!!). WHEN THE ISSUE GOT WORSE I TOOK IT IN TO A LOCAL CERTIFIED SHOP IN VALPARAISO IN (OTHER TIMES WERE IN CHICAGO) AT 59,000 MILES AT THEY REPLACED IT WITH A BRAND NEW TRANS FROM HONDA. THE ISSUE NEVER WENT AWAY. MY MECHANIC WHO DROVE THE OLD CAR AND TEST DROVE THE NEW ONE CALLED THIS COMPLETELY ABNORMAL. THIS GUY HAS 40 YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH VEHICLES RANGING FROM TOYOTA TO MERCEDES AND A WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD WHO WILL VOUCH FOR HOW GOOD HE IS. I AM TAKING THE NEW ACCORD IN ONE MORE TIME TOMORROW (6/28/17) TO THE DEALER OF ORIGIN BUT I AM GUESSING THE SAME ANSWER WILL ARISE. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. THIS ENGINE BRAKING IS NOT NORMAL.
THERE IS A NOTICEABLE AND VERY ANNOYING WIND NOISE AT EAR LEVEL FROM EITHER THE DRIVERS OR THE FRONT PASSENGERS WINDOW. VERY ANNOYING FOR THIS BRAND NEW ACCORD EX. WE HOPE NHSTA ACTS AND SUGGEST TO ISSUE TSB AND FIX FOR ALL THEIR VEHICLES.

MY 2017 HONDA ACCORD TOURING HAS UNINTENDED BREAKING ONCE THE GAS PEDAL IS RELEASED, RATHER THAN SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP IT ABRUPTLY APPLIES THE BREAKS ON ITS ON WITHOUT ANY CAR IN SIGHT (THEREFORE IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SAFETY FEATURE) WHETHER I AM DRIVING ON A FLAT EVEN SURFACE ROAD, UP OR DOWN A HILL. IN ORDER TO PREVENT OR MINIMIZE THE UNEXPECTED BREAKING I AM HAVING TO APPLY THE GAS TO MAINTAIN A CONSTANT VELOCITY BEFORE APPLYING THE BRAKES. EVEN IF I AM GOING 40,30, 25 MPHS AND I APPLY THE BRAKES TO GRADUALLY COME TO A STOP THE CAR IS STILL STOPPING ABRUPTLY ON ITS OWN WITH ITS UNANNOUNCED BRAKING AS IT GOES FROM 40 TO 30 AND SO FORTH AND OVERRIDING MY APPLICATION OFF APPLYING THE BRAKES. AND TO BE CLEAR IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LEVEL OF PRESSURE APPLIED OR NOT APPLIED ON THE BRAKES, ETC. THERE IS ALSO A NOISE THAT I HAVE PICKED UP EACH TIME IT BRAKES. NOT TO MENTION THAT I HAVE ALSO DRIVEN A SIMILAR YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF THE NEW CAR I PURCHASED AND THIS DID NOT OCCUR, SO IT'S DEFINITELY AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR (WHETHER ITS SOFTWARE RELATED, ETC.). IN ADDITION TO THIS I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE RPMS WHEN THE CAR IS IDLING WHILE ON PARK OR WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE IS HIGHER THAN NORMAL (OVER 750RPMS, WHEN IT SHOULD BE NO MORE THAN 500RPMS WHEN IDLING), WHICH MIGHT EXPLAIN WHY THE CAR IS JOLTING ON ITS OWN WHEN I RELEASE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE WITHOUT APPLYING THE GAS. WHEN A CAR IS DRIVEN AT A SPEED OF 40MPS, ETC MPHS AND YOU RELEASE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO DECELERATE SLOWLY ON ITS OWN, NOT GO THROUGH MOMENTS WHERE IT APPLIES HARD BRAKING THEN RESUMES GRADUAL DECELERATION TO THEN AGAIN STOP ABRUPTLY, WHICH IS WHAT THIS CAR IS CONSTANTLY DOING. NOT TO MENTION THAT EVEN MAINTAINING CRUISING SPEED (WHETHER 25, 40 65) IN THE CAR DOESN'T SEEM TO HOLD THE SPEED AT A CONSTANT RATE, IT EITHER DECIDES TO SPEED UP OR DECELERATE ON ITS OWN.

SEATS ARE EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. THEY ARE MADE FOR A MUCH LARGER PERSON AND PUSH MY HEAD FORWARD. I CAN'T FIND A CAR WITH SEATS THAT FIT ME. THIS COULD LEAD TO A DANGEROUS DRIVE.
THE WIND NOISE IS NOT AT ACCEPTABLE RANGE. WHEN YOU ACCELERATE PAST 45 MILES PER HOUR, IT IS UNBEARABLE. THE NOISE IS HEARD BY FRONT AND REAR PASSENGERS. PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 12/9/2016 AND HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS.
