My car is having the head gasket issue which caused an issue while driving.
My 2018 Honda experienced a catastrophic engine failure (blown head gasket) at only 30,012 miles. A head gasket is not a wear item and should not fail at such low mileage. I previously reported related symptoms during dealer service visits in July 2024 and August 2025, including signs consistent with cooling or engine performance issues, prior to the complete failure. The vehicle has been properly maintained, has not been abused or modified, and shows no signs of neglect. Honda has denied goodwill assistance solely due to vehicle age, despite the extremely low mileage and premature nature of the failure. This appears to be a durability defect resulting in premature engine failure well below expected service life.
Blown Head Gasket, Coolant (possibly oil) leaking into combustion chamber. Confirmed by Honda of Kenner after getting Diagnostic. Car suddenly shook and temperature of car rose, misfires occurred shortly after with a flashing check engine light
Head gasket blown at 75500 miles. This appears to be an issue with the 1.5T engine in these cars, as reported several times and at issue in a class action lawsuit Bissell v. Honda.
My 2018 Honda Accord Touring with a 1.5L turbocharged engine began experiencing intermittent warning lights and error messages starting around 28,000 miles. I reported these issues to a Honda dealership on some visits however in most cases, the warnings were appearing and disappearing prior to my visit. However the error continued to appeared since then. At approximately 55,000 miles, multiple warning lights and error codes reappeared consistently. I took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for diagnosis and was informed that the issue may involve internal engine damage and that a full engine teardown would be required to determine the cause, at an estimated cost of approximately $2,000, before any actual repair could be identified. Seeking a second opinion, I took the vehicle to a different service location and completed a full tune-up at 63,000 including all standard maintenance expected at that mileage. Less than one week after the tune-up, the same warning lights and error codes returned. I took my car back to the same place where I had the tune-up completed and the same error codes appeared indicating the issue was not related to routine maintenance. I began to research online some common issues with my car, I became aware of a class action lawsuit (Bissell v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc.) describing a known defect in Honda 1.5L turbocharged engines where coolant leaks internally near the cylinder head, causing engine misfires, efficiency warnings, and internal engine damage. The symptoms described in the lawsuit closely match the ongoing issues with my vehicle. The repeated warning lights and potential for engine failure raise safety concerns. The issue has been reproducible and unresolved despite inspection and maintenance.
My 2018 Honda accord had coolant leaking in cylinder 3. Which caused the head gasket to blow. My car stopped on me in the middle of the hwy. I took my car to a shop down here to get fixed he couldn’t get it to run. All dashboard lights are on.
My wife was driving on a highway while taking our grandchildren to day care. The vehicle lost power causing her try ti pull to the side of a main highway. All of the check engine lights went on. We brought the vehicle to Honda and the dealership said they found coolant in the combustion chamber. It needs a head gasket, at a cost of $4800.00. The car has 76,000 miles on it. We understand that there is currently a class action lawsuit for Honda Accords of this year and make. Kindly advise us as to what we can do as this is causing us extreme stress and financial hardship. We need help. Thank you for your assistance. Emissions and engine light turned on which caused enginue to lose power and stall. Took car to dealership for diagnosis, and two codes related to failed fuel injectors and failed turbocharger. Tech said it is a known failure with this vehicle model, especially with the Honda turbo engine, so much so the warranty was increased from 100,000 miles to 150,000. Unfortunately my car was 15,000 miles over warranty and will be a costly bill. Online research yielded that tech was right, it is a known failure issue with this model but I missed the warranty extension. If this is a known issue by the manufacturer, should this not he a recall issue?
I have a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 The issue started after getting my fuel pump replaced as part of the recall. While driving, all of the dashboard lights came on. Warning messages kept flashing on the dash. This car was driving perfectly fine before the fuel pump was replaced. When the codes are cleared, the car drives perfectly fine. The dashboard lights will periodically turn off but ultimately come back on and as a result, the car goes into limp mode. Coils, sparkplugs, breakers have been switched out and oil levels have been checked. When the car is scanned, the codes are reading a misfire with the coils but, the coils that are allegedly misfiring were JUST replaced. The car jerks while attempting to accelerate, and after a few miles, it goes into limp mode. I have tried every type of repair that has been suggested to me by the mechanic but the issues persist.

As I was driving myself and child on the interstate 65 mph the vehicle all of a sudden dropped speed and would not accelerate. I drifted the car off the interstate off ramp and pulled into a store parking lot. Luckily, we did not cause an accident or hit anything or anyone. All the lights on car's dashboard blinking some examples are EPS, VSA, Malfunction lamp, Breaking system, check engine light, etc. My car did not show that it was running hot, was not smoking, however would not accelerate. The car had a slight rattle, running bad, shaking slightly; all in all, not working appropriately. No earlier indication that something was wrong just came all of a sudden, no warning at all. Car was brought to Billy Navarre in Lake Charles, LA, where they concluded that head gasket was blown. I had to come out of pocket to fix the head gasket and all of the other problems that it caused. Car milage 84,097, bought brand new in 2018. This is a major safety issue for the public! Multiple people have this same problem. I have documentation on all the work the dealership completed. And I have filed a report to Honda.

Hi, to whom it may concern my dashboard lights have been on for months now and I’ve taken it to the dealership I purchased my car from and it comes back that it’s the turbo that needs replacing. The pricing of that is ridiculous and I’m currently not the ONLY one with this issue ! It’s an ALL AROUND THE WORLD thing! I’m not sure about anybody else but I don’t have that type of money plus while paying other important bills ! There should be a recall against the turbo replacement as well! And just what if I was to get the turbo replacement and then the lights come back on, because I’ve seen multiple people saying the replacement didn’t help with the lights and still have gotten other things done and the lights only off for a couple days ! Indeed of answers because this is ridiculous!
Fuel pump is bad causing the car not to start.
Blown head gasket
The head gasket of my 2018 Honda Accord, 1.5L turbo engine blew, allowing coolant to leak and pool into cylinder 3 of the engine. The engine was inspected by a Honda dealership and confirmed the defect/failure. I don’t have the failed gasket, but do have images of the coolant running into the cylinder from the inspection. My family’s safety was put at risk as due to this failure the engine misfired and would no longer accelerate on two different instances. Once in a local 55 mph road where the car would get above 30 mph. The second was when my wife was driving in a 70 mph turnpike when the misfire happened. There were no warning lamps or indicators of the failure. The symptoms were duffle, which included worsening engine performance, gas mileage, rough idling, and jerking while driving due to poor combustion in the bad cylinder. They first appeared around 87,000 - 88,000 miles (within this last year - 2025).

Head gasket issues and turbocharger issues
My fiance has a 2018 Honda Accord Sport Touring, this past Sunday he was giving me a ride and about 5 min of driving , after stopping for a red light , the light turned green he pushed the pedal and the car starting moving then all of a sudden warning lights were flashing , the engine light , remote not in car, oil light, air bag , low tire, etc. there was alot at the same time when the warning lights came on as he pushed the gas pedal the car stopped accelerating, and he said he had no power in the pedal ,there was heavy traffic, a car could of rear ended us but he was able to put his hazards on and coast around the corner before the car stopped. He shut the car off and back on and it drove like normal again. I was scared of course and just wanted to go home. When we got home he remembered he still had his fathers Obd scanner tool so he plugged it in the car and it showed no error codes. So that was really strange. He went to the store down the street the next day, but other then that he drives his work van and I have my own car. I was reading newsbreak and seen that honda recalled only hybrid and newer years and thought thats odd I should let someone know this happen to his 2018 accord , because Im sure it has to happen to others. We didnt take it in or call the police , but this clearly could of caused a crash had he not remained calm and put his flashers, everything happened so fast. Im sure he would let you inspect it, he works during the morning. I have no clue why it did that and neither does he. Thank you for your time.
I had to have the injectors replaced in April 2025. In November I was told a had a busted head gasket $5800.00 to fix. Many Honda owners have had this problem. Honda customer services refuses to help.
While driving on the NJ Garden State Parkway on an incline, the car went into LIMP HOME MODE in the middle of heavy traffic causing the speed to get dangeriousily very slow. I had to make my way across many lanes to get the edge of the road. After shutting off car I was able to restart and drive to work. My father came to my work and looked at car and added Honda antifreeze becuase it had seeped into combustion chambers Then drove the our Honda dealer. Just before he got to dealer driveway the car missed and hesitated but was able to make it to dealer. Dealer determined it was the common problem with the 1.5T engines, the head gasket failed. Check engine light never went on or any overheating (I was lucky) .While engine was apart, other work was agreed to as being cost-effective. The car prevousily had Honda car with 0 deductable until 100,000 miles. Car has always been serviced by dealer with more service than Honda requires and I have all service records from purchase to prove it. Last service before incident was 10/14/2025 . What makes this worse is that my son (2018 Civic) and my brother (2020 Accord) also have Honda cars that are destined for the same failure based on what is known about the defective 1.5T engines.
I had a coolant link problem they couldn't find or fix even after taking it in over 4 times ,how I have a blown head gasket ,also different components in my Ac keep going out have had to fix 3 times in the last 3 years, both these are know issues for this year honda
After vehicle got serviced an open recall for fuel pump, my car has been having issues. I know is related to the head gasket/fuel injections. My car has been great, monthly maintenance service up until I got that recall fixed. I now regret it getting repaired, but I had to, to be able to receive my DMV tags. I was driving about 45 MPH and vehicle stopped accelerating will not speed over 20 MPH and the check engine light turned on. Just got full transmission flush and oil change and this happened. I read many article online that this happens after this recall repair to the ACCORD 1.5T EX2018
All my warning lights keep coming on in dashboard and my car isn’t accelerating in cold weather after sitting overnight
Head gasket caused by 1/4 inch head bolts and torqued to 50 lbs multiple people have filed a class action lawsuit regarding this and it’s affecting most Hondas with a 1.5L engine. It caused misfiring and jerking it was inspected and confirmed by Honda service center that my head gasket was blown and I had purchased the car 12k miles ago.
I am submitting this complaint to report a potential safety-related defect in the 1.5L turbocharged engine used in the 2018 Honda Accord. My vehicle experienced a sudden and severe head gasket failure that appears to be related to a known design flaw affecting a significant number of Honda 1.5T engines. Many owners are reporting the same. The problem I am having with my vehicle Honda accord 2018 is with the head gasket. I was on the highway and as I was driving suddenly all the signs came on the display and gave a warning that my vehicle is overheating and it came down to 20mph while I was on the highway. This was very risky to me and the other vehicle around me.
Car has lost power or gone into "limp mode" while driving on multiple occasions. Car was never listed under the fuel pump recall but had all associated symptoms & problems. Had to have fuel pumps replaced in December 2023 due to car not starting because of faulty fuel pumps. Car has been properly maintenced since purchased brand new in February 2018. currently around 121,000 miles. Car overheated this past summer, Coolant seems to be leaking somewhere as just filled with coolant month ago and needed to refill with about quarter to refill to correct amount. Oil also seems to be having slow leakage problem somewhere within the engine as there is excessive oil on drip pan. Had all 4 spark plugs changed in March of 2025. Car has been going into limp mode and looses power for few seconds to minutes sometimes, almost causing multiple accidents while driving on highways. Pull over to shut off and give few minutes to restart and able to resume driving No warnings before this occurs. Randomly all dashboard lights light up 2 weeks ago and put car into limp mode, was driving on highway at high rate of speed (65mph) safety was compromised several times while this occurs. Engine seems create knocking sounds to known due to oil dilution problem. Cold weather seems to affect issues to onset more often. Also been having stalled or rough start ups in colder weather or when engine is not warmed up. Researching these issues seems to be that 2018 Honda Accords had known head gasket failure. This should become a class action lawsuit and also a recall
After having fuel pump replaced by recall at random times dashboard will light up with all system lights, car will go into limp mode and loose power for a few seconds and then I am able to resume driving. Extremely scary as there is no warning. This has happened both on the freeway at high rates of speed and on neighborhood roadways. Safety has been compromised several times and Honda dealer is not able to reproduce the issue, retrieve any warning codes or offer any assistance. This has randomly been occurring for several months. When not having this exact issue car runs with no other issues.
Then when I took it to the dealership to diagnose they said it is a head gasket failure. The repairs they have recommended are very expensive and after researching this problem it shows this is a very common problem Honda vehicles are having. This is a manufacture problem which they should have a recall on hence with such expensive repair and I only have 93K miles on my vehicle. I always thought Hondas were the best vehicle going long term and as I am first time owner and this being my first vehical brand new I am very disappointed with the problem I have been facing with my vehicle.
I was driving in my car cut off in the middle of the highway. I was able to coast to side of the road. I took my car to the Honda accord dealership after that and was told it was my head gasket. After that repair, my car cut off once again. I took it back to Honda and was told that I now needed to replace the turbo charger which I’m unable to pay for after paying several thousands of dollar for the head gasket.
Engine knock caused by oil dilution which is known manufacturing issues with my model of car.
defective turbocharged engine that is prone to overheating, head gasket failure and other problems. Design defect that causes engine coolant to leak into the cylinders
Emission system, low acceleration to the point it becomes a safety hazard in the freeway, I almost got rear ended twice, the car jolts, it stops out of no where, head gasket issues at only 65k. Maintenance was kept up but there’s a Facebook group called Honda sport 2018 to 22 on these models of the same issue “Christmas tree lights”
*The engine head gasket- The engine sucked the water from the radiator. *The car overheat in Highway and I had to wait for help to open the radiator to fill it with water *By an independent service center *Not yet- I will take it to a dealer Wednesday the 12th *All the dash lights came up and the next day the temp indicator was going up and down
I am writing regarding my recently purchased used 2018 Honda Accord. The car has low mileage and initially ran well, but it has developed a recurring cylinder misfire problem. When this happens, the car slows down and cannot exceed 20 mph. This issue has occurred several times—once while my daughter was driving on the highway, creating a dangerous situation as she tried to pull over safely. I took the car to both a Honda dealership and an independent mechanic. The dealership diagnosed a head gasket issue and quoted over $6,000 for repairs. However, the independent shop could not identify the issue—no error codes appeared during their diagnostic scan. After I shared the dealer’s diagnosis, the independent mechanic mentioned that this may be a known design flaw in certain Honda Accords from this model range. From what I’ve learned, the problem involves the engine’s cooling system design. The coolant travels inside the engine around the outside of the cylinders, and Honda used a small channel between cylinders to allow coolant flow. This channel appears to be the failure point, leading to head gasket problems in multiple vehicles. I believe this may be a systemic issue affecting many Honda Accords with this design, and I urge someone from this office to investigate and make Honda take responsibility for these repairs. I am in a position where I am able to transition away from this vehicle, so this will not help me. So I hope you are able to help other, because the repair bill could cripple people and hinder them for using a vehicle that they rely on to provide for themselves and their family.
I was driving the car and it stopped working the car was just rolling, it lost speed in the road! All the warning lights were displaying, including the engine light. I took this car in to have a dynastic test at the Honda dealership. They reported it was the head gaskets. I’m very disappointed and don’t have the extra money for experience repairs.
I was driving on a highway when a warning popped up about engine temperature being high, advising I avoid heavy acceleration. No other codes came. I parked the car and it sat for about 8 hours. I had a short drive and no warnings came on. I drove on a highway about 30 minutes the next morning and again, no warnings. I was about 2 hours from home. About half way, we stopped for food, still no issues, but when we got on the highway, within about 5 miles warning lights came on about engine temp and the car went into limp mode. I had to have it towed to our loacl honda dealer. They confirmed COOLANT INTRUSION CYLINDER 3 AND 4 CONFIRMING HEAD GASKET FAILURE . Cost setimate was $6063. My car is on;y 6 12 year old, 140,000 miles and has always been maintained.
I took my 2018 Honda Accord into the dealership to get the Fuel pump Recall fixed, which took a year to get scheduled. I got that fixed in August, prior to getting the replacement I hadn’t had any issues with the car. About a week ago my car started sputtering and bucking while I was driving it. It felt like it wasn’t getting any fuel. The car left me sit on the highway, threw an engine misfiring code and almost caused an accident because it wouldn’t accelerate, and there were angry drivers behind me. I called the dealership, managed to get it there and they are now telling me I have a bad Head Gasket, which they want $5000 to replace. I had no prior issues and there initial inspection of the car after changing the fuel pump recall, had nothing about any issues with my coolant or gaskets. Is this a recurring problem with the 2018 Honda Accords 2.0T. Since this was the first year this Engine was made.
My Honda vehicle experienced a blown head gasket at approximately 123,000 miles, despite being properly maintained according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. This is a known and recurring issue in this engine type, which has been the subject of numerous consumer complaints and a pending class action lawsuit alleging a design defect that causes premature head gasket failure. The engine failed without warning signs such as overheating or coolant loss prior to the incident. I contacted Honda’s customer service and the Goodwill Program, but they declined to assist, stating the vehicle was out of warranty. A head gasket should not fail at this mileage, and this appears to be a widespread safety and reliability issue that may affect other vehicles with the same engine design. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this pattern of premature head gasket failure in Honda vehicles and take appropriate action to hold Honda accountable for the defect and ensure consumer safety.
2018 Honda Accord Sport, 1.5 l motor, 60k miles. loss of power under throttle. Bad head gasket. Diagnosed by dealership.
Mileage: 60,000
I had submitted last year a complaint about my vehicles head gasket being blown. Had to take a loan out to replace it and the turbo . Now a year later the head gasket failed again which shouldn’t have since I’ve been on top of maintenance. My vehicle is a 2018 Honda accord 1.5T .
My vehicle is losing power while traveling on the road. All of the system lights are flashing and the gas mileage is ridiculous. It sputters uncontrollably and just stalls out and drops speed really quick. I’m really concerned for my well being. I’ve spent so much money trying to fix these issues and I don’t think it’s fair to me or any other Honda owner to have to be held responsible for something that is clearly a manufacturing issue. Although there was not a crash during this incident, it’s very dangerous and I’m terrified to drive my car but I have no other transportation right now.
3 weeks after having this vehicle, the car started running hot and experiencing all types of jerking problems. I started to do my research on why suddenly the car was running hot, jerking, and other things. I noticed a thread line expressing the EXACT same issues that I was experiencing which were from bad head gaskets. I took my vehicle to the dealership to have this issue checked and verify. I also had an independent mechanic shop evaluate the vehicle as well. Both results were the same. This is a design flaw on the manufacture behalf and I reached out to the Honda Corporate only to be denied assistance with fixing the known issue because it was “out of the date” range for their goodwill claim. This vehicle will run hot and you will have to pull over on the side of the road to allow engine to cool in order for it to operate.
While accelerating car jerks at times. At time car will go in limp mode I’ll have to safely try to get to side of road turn car off. Restart and continue driving. I’ve changed spark plugs, coil packs, turbo, fuel injectors, fuel pump and battery. I continue to put money into my car and nothing helps.
Car had 80 thousand no heating or oil problems has been maintained through Honda. Recall on fuel pump replaced. Car starts rough, took it in a diagnostic was done revealing a possible leak near 3 cylinder possibly head gasket. Code P0304 came up with all break light codes reading. No oil leak. No over heating. Honda indicates blown head gasket.
Lost coolant and engine over heated. Inspected by shop and determined that the coolant is leaking into the engine due to head gasket issue. This could cause extreme engineer overheating and cause fire in engine. based on available information from other owners of the accord 1.5T 2018, this is common issue.
Mechanic shop verified blown head gasket. Vehicle never overheated and was diagnosed after vehicle began to feel like it was misfiring. Mechanic used scope and found coolant leaking into head.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 50-55 MPH, the vehicle was jerking before shutting off. The accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact was able to move over safely. The vehicle was restarted and continued to drive. The ABS, steering, battery, engine, and Lane Departure warning lights were flashing. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer for NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Shelor Motor Mile (270 Jarrett Dr SE, Christiansburg, VA 24073), who confirmed that the fuel pump had not been serviced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000. The VIN was not available.

My 2018 Honda Accord Sport has experienced repeated engine and turbocharger problems related to a likely head gasket failure. For nearly two years, I had to replace the spark plugs every six months without ever getting a check-engine light. When I brought the vehicle to Hardin Honda in Anaheim, the dealer ran a test and said the head gasket was fine at that time. However, the issues continued, and eventually, the head gasket and turbocharger both failed. I can't spent about $4,000 in repairs, and I lost significant time without my vehicle, which affected my ability to work. Additional Details: Honda replaced my fuel pump twice. The first failure caused my engine to go into limp mode on the freeway, which was extremely dangerous and also damaged the turbocharger. Honda replaced the engine computer (ECU) only six months after I purchased the car. When I contacted Honda corporate, they admitted to being aware of this issue but said they would only offer reimbursement if a recall was issued in the future. Safety Concern: The sudden loss of power at highway speeds is a serious safety hazard. This issue appears to be widespread among owners of the 1.5L turbo engines, and many drivers are reporting similar head gasket and turbocharger failures. Requested Action: I am requesting a formal investigation into the 1.5L turbo engine design and related head gasket and turbocharger failures in 2018 Honda Accords. These problems pose a clear safety risk and result in high out-of-pocket repair costs for owners.
Head casket issue caused the engine to go bad .. every light on dash board is on
Head gasket problem. Coolant leaking into cylinder #2, head gasket needs replacing. The car is currently at a Honda dealership & they inspected/ confirmed that this was the issue. They expressed this was a common issue with this car. The first signs of issues happened while driving uphill on the freeway, the car started to “jump” when trying to accelerate. A couple of minutes later, the car would not accelerate while driving & the check engine light turned on. The second time, this happened much quicker. In a span of a couple of seconds, the car “jumped” while driving on the freeway again, and slowed down and would not accelerate, but various lights on the dash turned on this time. This is obviously very dangerous as a car suddenly decelerating while driving can cause the driver and others on the road to crash. There were no warning lights on prior to the first incident.
I have a 2018 Honda accord 1.5t I have always done oil changes and maintenance accordingly. My car went into limp mode over the summer. I brought it to my dealership who said the head gasket was bad and it was going to cost over 5,000$ to fix. This is a known problem on these cars as I have gathered information all over the internet. Honda refuses to do the right thing and have a recall. I do not have the money to replace the head gasket at the hefty dealership level. I have been waiting over 3 months in an attempt of a DIY replacement. The company I have been ordering with has had many issues and I am still without a vehicle. The vehicle only has 138,000 miles
The fuel injectors became faulty at about 90,000 miles, a mechanic could not identify the issue until about 110,000 miles. A blow head gasket followed.
100k miles on our Honda when there showed Misfire in cylinder 3 kept coming up. Changed the coils and spark plugs. The car lost power on the freeway almost resulting in a collision. Had the car towed to Honda dealership where they quoted us 4800$ for a head gasket. Honda knows what they’ve done. I will never in my life buy another Honda.
I have changed turbo, coil packs, fuel injectors, spark plugs, battery, fuel pump and my vehicle still give misfire in cylinder 3. Honda knows it’s a turbo and head gasket issue and will NOT do a recall on this for the vehicles. HORRIBLE company. Will never buy another Honda
While driving, my 2018 Honda Accord suddenly lost power and went into limp mode with no prior overheating or warning signs. The acceleration dropped instantly, and the vehicle nearly caused an accident as it seized up in traffic. Diagnostic scan showed a P0303 cylinder 3 misfire, which is consistent with head gasket failure. The issue has been widely reported among other Honda Accord owners with the same engine, and it appears to be a recurring defect. This failure is dangerous because the car can lose power abruptly at highway speeds or during normal driving, putting drivers and passengers at risk of collisions. The vehicle was properly maintained and had no prior indication of internal damage or overheating. The head gasket failure is sudden and mechanical, not caused by user neglect. It needs to be investigated as a manufacturer defect before it leads to serious accidents or injuries.
Car has been giving me issues with the check light engine. They changed spark plugs and the head gasket and still giving me issues.
Head gasket for the second time
The car loses power. It starts as a misfire on cylinder 2 (P0302 code) and the engine starts to shutdown (or goes into a safe mode with no power). The result is loss of speed which creates a safety hazard especially on highways. This has happened multiple times and the car has been in the shop 4 times for this issue. We have to pull off the road, turn the car off, sit for a minute and restart the car. It will then run ok. This has happened during acceleration and when just trying to keep speed on an incline. The dealership has not been able to identify an issue. The head gasket was replaced in April 2025 because they thought there was a pin hole that was causing oil to push into the cylinder. The misfire continued to happen. It was in the shop on October 2025 and they found nothing wrong with the spark plug, induction coils, gas feed. Therefore no understanding of the root cause.
Bad fuel injectors reported by diagnostic testing done by Honda dealership after recall was completed on fuel pump. All warning lights on dashboard lite up and multiple warnings from car. This is a known issue with these specific Honda engines. Very costly repairs that if not completed can cause other engine issues.
I lost power to the vehicle in the middle of the road as I was accelerating uphill approaching a stop light getting ready to get on the on ramp to the highway. All the dashboard lights came on and the check engine light was flashing. I had to let my car idle it's way to the side of the road. I took my car to a Honda dealership. Diagnosis showed cylinder 3 misfire, coolant leaking into cylinder 3 indicating a blown head gasket. A couple of weeks before the loss of power to the vehicle, my car was sputtering and jerking when accelerating. It would get really bad when accelerating uphill.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord with approximately 131,000 miles. The vehicle suffered a blown head gasket that my mechanic identified as originating from a known design or manufacturing defect in Honda’s 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. They diagnosed the problem before they had my vehicle in their possession because they have already seen this so many times in other 2018 Honda Accords. The engine began showing symptoms such as coolant loss, rough idle, "Christmas tree" engine lights, and an overheating warning light. There was no sign of external coolant leakage. A professional inspection confirmed head-gasket failure. I have maintained the vehicle according to Honda’s recommended service schedule and have documentation for all maintenance. I contacted my local Honda dealership and Honda’s customer service department seeking goodwill or warranty assistance. Despite multiple attempts and escalation to a “warranty specialist,” Honda denied coverage and refused to contribute to repairs. The repair estimate exceeds $5,700, which is unacceptable for a vehicle with regular maintenance and a known pattern of premature engine failures. Online owner forums and public databases show many other reports of the same issue. I believe this defect poses a safety concern, as overheating or sudden engine failure can occur while driving, creating risk of loss of power, stalling, or fire. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the widespread head-gasket and engine failures on late-model Honda vehicles equipped with this engine to determine whether a recall or manufacturer accountability action is warranted.
I own a 2018 Honda Accord EX-L equipped with the 1.5-liter turbo engine. Over time, the vehicle began showing symptoms of coolant loss without any visible leaks, a sweet odor under the hood, and intermittent white smoke from the exhaust after startup. The engine would sometimes idle roughly and hesitate under acceleration. No external leaks were found by my mechanic. I later learned that these symptoms are consistent with a possible head-gasket or coolant-intrusion issue affecting this engine type. The problem poses a potential safety risk because coolant can enter the combustion chambers, leading to engine misfire, loss of power, or complete engine failure while driving. The issue has not yet been formally recalled, but I have seen multiple complaints and reports of similar failures in 2018–2022 Accords, Civics, and CR-Vs with the same 1.5-liter turbo engine. A warning light (“check engine”) appeared intermittently, and the temperature gauge fluctuated during normal driving. The problem has been inspected by an independent repair shop, but Honda has not provided a permanent repair or warranty coverage. The issue appears to be consistent with the allegations in recent class action filings regarding head-gasket and coolant-leak defects in Honda 1.5T engines.
While driving the car, the oil light came on and the engine died. Losing vehicle power while driving poses a very serious safety risk. After taking it to a Honda dealership, the mechanic diagnosed the following issue: "head gasket has failed causing coolant to leak into Cylinder 3".
Head gasket leak after replacing recalled fuel pump. Took my car in for safety recall on fuel pump, just 24 hrs later every check engine light came on and my vehicle slowed to a stop (car went into limp mode). This happened on a busy street with vehicles flying by. I had my vehicle towed to Lancaster Honday (CA) where they did my safety recall the day before, they confirmed the head gasket leak. I had my vehicle diagnostics done at a different place as well and they confirmed the bad news, but also said this should not be happening to a new car with 66,000 miles. They advised I call corporate Honda and have them do a goodwill repair where the pay the repair since it is out of its 60,000 miles warranty. I had zero symptoms of this happening before it actually happened. I regularly had maintenance done on my car. I am very dissatisfied and disappointed that Honda just declined my goodwill repair after a month of waiting on them to “review the case”. I couldn’t be more sad and more screwed at this time. $5000 is not something I have right now to take care of something I shouldn’t have to. This is only happening to 1.5 liter Hondas in my certain year range. I wanted a 2.0 originally, but the dealership did not have any at the time so I am needing help. I will reach out to the ongoing pending lemon law case in CA to join the base and try to get my car fixed and have Honda do the right thing! I am not happy!
Bad head gasket. Coolant leaking into cylinders
Driving on highway, check engine light went on and car lost all power would not go over 5 mph scared for my life as I was almost hit by other vehicles traveling at hi rates of speed . I managed to get the car to the shoulder. I turned the car off and restarted, and the car went back to operating normal. Car was checked by a friend who is a mechanic, and he told me there were codes for misfires after checking all the issues that could cause that type of problem he informed me that a pressure test on the coolant system revealed a blown head gasket which allowed coolant to leak in the cylinders causing miss fires due to the anti freeze extinguishing the spark of the spark plugs. I researched this matter and it's see to be a very common problem with many hondas with the 1.5 engine
headgasket blew at 73k miles out of nowhere no check engine light no smoke no warning nothing car was taken care of its whole life car locked up during headgasket failure almost causing accident on road near house called Honda to explain the mishap they were snotty and acted like they didnt care wouldn't provide repair for free or even ask me if I was ok or if I needed help. I am a part of a 1oth generation honda group on Facebook and there are alot of us who should be helpedfor this very dangerous and random mishap
My 2018 Honda Accord at only 63,000 started to lose power and all the emergency lights went on. Diagnosed as a misfire and now requires a new head gasket. This was told to me by the dealer to be a well known problem with the 1.5 T 2018 Honda Accord.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that occasionally, while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked and the engine lost compression. The check engine warning light was occasionally illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed with a blown head gasket. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that two weeks after the vehicle was repaired under an undisclosed NHTSA Campaign, the message "See Dealer" was displayed. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same local dealer, and the fuel injectors were replaced. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine temperature gauge became elevated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local O' riley, where it was diagnosed with turbo assembly sensor failure. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a turbo assembly sensor failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, there was a misfire coming from the engine. The spark plugs, coils, and battery were replaced; however, approximately 6 days later, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a rocker arm oil control solenoid failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that, due to the age and mileage of the vehicle, a Goodwill service would not be performed. The failure mileage was approximately 116,699.

My 2018 Honda Accord EX is currently having FUEL injector problems at 41,000 miles. Honda is trying to tell me that FUEL injectors do NOT get affected by the recalled FUEL pump. This is very silly because the FUEL pump and FUEL injectors work together. They want $1,800 to replace the FUEL injectors at Honda. I already completed the recall on the FUEL pump, and afterward, they told me my injector was running too rich and needed to be replaced for $1800. There are so many Honda 1.5Ts experiencing these same issues, and Honda does not want to do anything about it. I am currently taking my car to a local shop to get the FUEL injectors replaced for $1,327. I believe I should be reimbursed since the FUEL pump is what caused my FUEL injectors to fail. Honda is trying to tell me that two FUEL components of a car don’t correlate with each other? This isn’t fair, and I need to be reimbursed.
I own a 2018 Honda Accord Sport. About 2–3 months ago, the car began having repeated engine misfires (P0301), hesitation, and stalling while driving. At the same time, multiple dashboard warnings appear, including Steering Assist Reduced, Brake System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem, Emission System Problem, and Hill Start Assist Problem, these failures occur suddenly while the vehicle is in motion, creating a serious risk of loss of engine power, reduced braking performance, loss of steering assist, and disabled crash-avoidance systems. I have already performed extensive maintenance: new ignition coils, a full tune-up, compression test, spark test, and battery/alternator check, yet the issues remain. Diagnostic scans also showed U0416-68 (invalid data from ABS/VSA module) in addition to the misfire. This suggests not only a fuel/propulsion defect but also a possible computer/control module failure that links engine, brakes, steering, and ADAS systems. These conditions match known recalls for the Accord, including 23V858000 (fuel pump failure), 20V314000 (low-pressure fuel pump), and 20V771000 (BCM software issue), yet my VIN does not currently show as included. The fact that multiple critical safety systems fail simultaneously makes this a major safety hazard that could easily lead to an accident if the car stalls, loses braking, or loses steering assist in traffic. I opened a case with Honda Customer Service (Case #15868389), but they refused to cover the repair since my VIN is not listed, despite the failures being identical to those described in the recalls. I strongly believe my vehicle should be included, and I request that NHTSA investigate whether the recall VIN range needs to be expanded.
Recently bought this car a month ago. I started having problems with acceleration, as if the car was “bucking” every time i would press the gas normally at a red light or stop sign, accelerating from a stop. The vehicle wouldn’t make it up a hill while accelerating it was very hard bucking. I tried pressing the gas a little harder and the check engine light flashed and the car went into limp mode so i had to pull over. Made it back home and i was driving normally and every light you can imagine came up on the dash. I’ve heard from many others with the accord they’ve had the same problems but once they get it fixed the problems keep happening or the vehicle blows up. I just paid full in cash for this car and my total is fix it is already at 5k to fix.
Turbocharger. All dashboard lights are on in vehicle. All safety measures implanted in the vehicle (land departure, cruise control, etc) is not working. The vehicle jerks when attempting to accelerate over 40 mph.
Head Gasket
Engine head gasket failed allowing a coolant leakage, which damaged spark plugs and fuel injectors. There is video evidence of this failure provided by the dealership service center. Link to video: [XXX] This occurred at approximately 70k mileage, which is far earlier than a failure like this would be reasonably foreseeable. I see many, many, others online who have had the same failure on my model of car at similar (early) mileages of 70k-90k. My car lost power on the highway, leading to a dangerous driving condition for myself an others. There was no obvious warnings that this would occur. After pulling over and turning off then turning on the car again, the car was intermittently drivable, with clear engine trouble. When it is cold outside my ACC light comes on and when I started my car the other day it read Emissons Service Problem Avoid Heavy Acceleration and High Speed. That was just 1 among 7 other service warning that popped up.
This car is known for its faulty engine. The head gasket tends to blow as early as 40k miles, plenty of people have had this problem and yet there is no recall for the engine or a fix. I was driving on the highway and i was speeding up to merge into traffic and my check engine light started to flash and my car went into limp mode on the highway luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic and i got the chance to pull over and restart my car. i looked online and plenty of people were experiencing this same problem they all had the same answer as well, a blown head gasket. I'm just wondering if someone has to pass away before this gets fixed.
The Cylinder head gasket The vehicle heats up and causes us to pull over which impedes traffic The maker knows of said issue but has yet to address it A qualified mechanic has examined the vehicle and diagnosed the issue There was no warning
Date of Incident: [XXX] Vehicle Information: 2018 Honda Accord VIN: [XXX] Incident Location: North Charleston, SC Estimated Vehicle Mileage at Incident: 78,000 miles On [XXX], while starting and driving my vehicle less than one mile, the engine would not accelerate above 10 MPH. Following this, multiple service alerts illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed to Hendrick Honda of Charleston. The diagnosed issue is a leaking cylinder head gasket. This is the second major engine-related issue this year. In May 2025, I paid over $2,000 to repair a faulty fuel sensor injector. This current repair is estimated to cost over $5,000, bringing my total repair costs for this year to over $7,000 for a five-year-old vehicle with just 78,000 miles. This recurring pattern of significant and costly engine failures, particularly the cylinder head gasket leak, indicates a serious safety defect. It is not an isolated incident, as evidenced by publicly filed NHTSA complaints (ID: 11677717) for the same make, model, and year with similar engine failure issues at comparable mileage. The sudden loss of acceleration and inoperability pose a direct safety hazard. I am requesting an investigation into this defect and seeking full reimbursement for the recent and past repairs, totaling over $7,000. These are clearly not standard wear-and-tear issues and should be addressed by the manufacturer. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Car engine overheated while driving and car stalled and was unable to start . Took it to a mechaning and was informed that I had a blown head gasket that may be leaking coolant into the engine internally. Not having the money to fix it I had to slowly drive it home and find alternative solutions . Researching the situation and seeing that this seems to be a reoccurring and common from for 2018-2022 Honda owners and if indeed it is a company defect I would ask for a charge free recall to resolve the head gasket. This has created much stress in my life and financial worry.
Coolant leak through the gasket into a cylinder so now I need a new head gasket. When I start my car, it starts to shake and don’t accelerate. I just got my turbo done in April because of the same issues.
On August 25th 2025 we were driving the vehicle on the freeway at 55 MPH and upon acceleration the vehicle started to decelerate and the check engine light came on. The vehicle would not go over 10 MPH at this point. We took it to the dealership to have the issue addressed. They told us that the issue was a misfire in cylinder #3. They told us the vehicle will need to relearn the firing order and for the next 2 weeks the vehicle was rough idling upon startup. We called the dealership to make an appointment to have that issue addressed and took the vehicle back to the dealership. On September 10 we were told by the dealership the head gasket is blown. We were told that they are seeing that this is becoming a more common issue with the engine of this year model vehicle.
I attempted to start my vehicle's engine normally and the engine made a rough cranking sounded and then finally started. The dashboard displayed multiple warning messages immediately after: Emission system problem/avoid heavy acceleration and high speed/see your dealer, tire pressure monitor system problem/check tire pressure/see your dealer, brake system problem/brake performance may be reduced/see your dealer, brake hold system problem/apply brake when stopped/see your dealer, electric power steering system problem/steering assist reduced/see your dealer, vehicle stability assist system problem/reduced traction and handling/see your dealer, hill start assist problem/vehicle may roll upon brake release/see your dealer, adaptive cruise control system problem/see your dealer, collision mitigation braking system problem/see your dealer, road departure mitigation system problem/see your dealer. I was able to carefully drive and drop off the vehicle at the dealership. The dealership conducted an inspection and found "the check engine light was illuminated due to a misfire in cylinder two. The diagnosis has revealed that this is caused by a bad head gasket, which is allowing a small coolant leak into the cylinder. To address this issue, the technician is recommending the replacement of the cylinder head gasket and spark plugs. Additionally, the technician has noted that the fuel injectors are a known failure point and suggest replacing them as well while the work is being performed." Also, the service employee told me verbally that this is a common issue with the Honda 1.5 turbo engines and they see this all the time. I authorized the replacement of the cylinder head gasket and spark plus since the cost was covered under my existing powertrain warranty with Honda. After a week, the vehicle was released to me and working fine. My safety and the safety of others with a similar engine was put at risk due to no prior warning and the impairment of critical safety systems.
Car has 60,675 miles with a blown head gasket. Prior to blown head gasket vehicle was brought to Honda in April 2025 for overheating, rough start and leaking coolant and was told fuel pump had a recall so it was changed, Honda did the recall repairs, performed oil change and checked everything else and released the car in working order but a week later after adding 175 miles more to the car it started overheating and had a rough start, the car was immediately brought back to Honda and they said it was a blown head gasket, the car was driven home that same day and left in the driveway undriven until September 3rd 2025 when it was towed to a different Honda dealership where it was confirmed to be blown head gasket and the cost is estimated at $6800 to repair. The car has had all recall issues addressed as well as all service and oil changes done to the vehicle, the car is driven for leisure and never in an unsafe or harmful way that could damage a head gasket.
Upon commuting to work, the car failed to accelerate causing the car to almost suddenly stop while driving; at the same time of the failure warning lights and beeping occurred. No warnings prior to failure. By God’s grace, I was not yet on the expressway and avoided what would have been a horrible accident jeopardizing not only my life but the lives of anyone that would have been behind me. The gasket failed (cylinder #3) and is available for inspection upon request. It was a significant safety issue as the failure occurred without warning causing the car to stop no warning. Yes, the dealer has confirmed the failure and I was quoted a $5800 repair cost in spite of a owning a lifetime power train warranty. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. I did place a call to American Honda and we were given a case #15822812 (but this case has since been closed without action.) No warnings occurred before the failure. (Beeping and messages occurred at the time of failure.) Had the failure occurred at a high rate of speed, on an expressway, loss of life could have occurred and no one would know what caused the accident since cars are usually towed away and declared “totaled.” Fortunately, I was on a road of 35mph but in just a few more minutes would have been at a speed of 65mph. There is a further safety concern that the dealer admits that there is a known problem with the OEM component but plans to continue to replace with the same product. Note: this car has a superior care record and only 110,000 miles which means the failure is likely to occur again with the same parts. Internet searches are confirming this is a known product failure with no recall.
Head gasket between cylinders 2 and 3 blown, despite regular maintenance being completed by Honda dealerships. This issue has caused vehicle to go into "limp mode" while on the highway leading to safety concerns. This problem has been confirmed by not only a Honda dealer repair shop but also an independent repair shop and owners. There were not warning prior to the failure. Per the dealership, this is not something that could be caught during regular maintenance and inspections.
- Year: 2018 - Make: Honda - Model: Accord Sport 1.5 Turbo - Vehicle Identification Number : [XXX] I am writing to report a safety concern with my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 Turbo. The vehicle has developed a head gasket problem, which has resulted in significant engine issues. Additionally, I have experienced fuel injector problems, leading to decreased fuel efficiency and rough engine performance. Despite following the recommended maintenance schedule and addressing the issues with the dealer, the problems persist. I have been quoted $7,800 for repairs, which is unacceptable given the vehicle's age and mileage (currently 114,848 miles). I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially when driving on the highway. The vehicle's blown head gasket has caused ¹: - Loss of power, leading to potential safety issues on the road - Engine hesitation and shutdown while driving, which can increase the risk of accidents I request that NHTSA investigate this matter further and take necessary actions to address the recurring issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo engine. I would appreciate guidance on potential next steps to resolve this issue and ensure the vehicle's safety and reliability. - Repair estimates and records from the dealer - Maintenance records, including oil changes and fuel system cleanings - Correspondence with Honda dealership and corporate office Other owners have reported similar issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo, including fuel injector problems and blown head gaskets ² ³ ⁴. The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that several warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that all the warning lights turned off, however the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while the contact's children were inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was unofficially diagnosed with fuel pump failure. The contact was advised to contact the dealer because there was a recall for the fuel pump. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed of a diagnostic fee to perform a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not under recall. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,500.

Car stalled/went into limp mode in the middle of turning onto a busy road almost hit by oncoming traffic. Check engine light came on, as well as all other warnings. Ran diagnostics and show fuel running lean and cyl 2 misfire. Checked all other possible issues related to codes and all signs point to bad fuel injectors.
I was merging onto the freeway and my car went into limp mode. I was lucky enough to pull over to the side because I was on the far right lane. I took the car to the dealer and was told that the car had blown it's head gasket. How can a 2018 honda accord have blown a head gasket so soon? I looked online and many other 2018 honda owners reported the same issues.
I currently own a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5L 4 cylinder with only 62,800 miles at the start of the issue. Around the end of July 2025 the car started to jerk. It started with a slight jerk and escalated daily, over about a week, until the car started going into limp mode. The car was taken to a repair shop near my house. This shop said they were receiving an engine misfire code, replaced all spark plugs, and car driving good again. Around 8/15/2025, I started having the same issues. On 8/19/25 the car went into limp mode again in a busy highway. Took it to a Honda/Acura repair shop. They again found the same misfire codes, replaced 1 spark plug, and the car was driving okay. This Honda/Acura shop found low coolant in the engine and believed I had a leaking head gasket as they have been seeing a high number of Honda 1.5L engines, similar years, with this issue. The shop suggested I contact Honda as it is a known issue. On 8/19, the Honda dealer service department told me they are seeing a lot of that issue but Honda has no current plan to extend warranties or issue a recall, despite the widespread, known issue. The dealership’s service department instructed me to call Honda corporate to discuss the issue and potential coverage. Corporate did open a case for a potential Good Faith repair. I was told that I would have to take it to a Honda dealership for official diagnostics, pay that fee out of pocket, then submit documents and info for coverage review. The car was driving okay for about 1 week and on 8/27/25, began having the same problems. I was able to get an appointment on 9/2/25 at the dealership. On 9/2/25, the dealership confirmed the head gasket is bad and the car requires head gasket, head bolt, belts, fuel injector, and coolant replacement, and oil change. The dealership again acknowledged this is a known issue with the vehicle. These vehicles are stopping on busy highways (with speed limit of 50mph) and interstates or going into limp mode, not going over 20mph.
Have had several misfires, nothing would fix it. Dealership looked at it and said the injectors needed to be replaced. Replaced injectors and still had misfire issues. Car is consuming coolant, and there is exhaust is the cooling system. Meaning blown head gasket.
I have a 2018 Honda Accord EX with 104,000 miles. Head gasket blew and coolant is leaking. Upon further research this is a common problem that is now being discovered once the car drives past 60,000 miles. There is an internal memo asking dealers to let them know if they are seeing this too online. Honda has several class action law suits regarding this being a design flaw of the 2018 with the 1.5 liter engine. I spoke with Honda and they offered no assitance, stating out of warranty and no recall. This is their design issue and in my opinion responsible for repairing this. Otherwise out of pocket its a 5k plus repair.
my 2018 Honda Accord is having major engine problems. Earlier this year all of the lights were coming on, 7 of them at a time, and that happened for a few weeks before it started overheating. If I was driving over 50mph, it wouldn't overheat, but if I was driving slow or idling, it was overheating within minutes. I took it to the shop in June where they discovered there was NO COOLANT inside the engine. they put 1.5 gallons of coolant in there, and it fixed the problem temporarily, but 2 weeks ago, all of the lights started coming on again. I called my mechanic, and he said his friend had a 2018 Honda Accord that was doing the same thing and that we need to approach Honda and ask them to fix the problem. turns out a lot of other people on the internet are reporting the exact same problem in their 2018 Honda Accords too, and there's even a class action floating somewhere out there because coolant is leaking into the chambers. we already had a fuel injector recall replaced by Honda last year.
After having the fuel pump recall completed on my Honda Accord, I began experiencing serious engine problems that I had not had before the recall repair. Shortly afterward, my vehicle developed a blown head gasket, coolant leaking into the engine, and turbo issues. These failures occurred outside of my extended warranty (which has also since expired), but they started only after the recall work was performed. I contacted my dealership and Honda corporate for assistance through a goodwill request, but they denied coverage, stating I am outside of warranty and they cannot determine fault. However, I have since learned that other Honda owners have reported experiencing the same or very similar engine issues after this recall repair. Currently, the vehicle is undriveable without risking complete engine failure. The cost of repair is extremely high, leaving me at a financial loss for a problem I believe is directly related to the manufacturer’s recall repair.
I got this car April 2024. By December I went to the Honda dealer for the recall even though nothing was wrong with the car. After December, when I got the recall fast forward to February. My engine is stalling. I could be pulling out my driveway and it’s stalling. I could be going 10 MPH and it’s stalling. I was coming off a ramp and almost got smacked by a 18 wheeler because it started stalling as I’m coming off the ramp. It break checked me on 5th ave. I was driving. No car in front of me. But a car in the back of me. And it just broke on me. Out of no where. Almost causing the Mercedes Benz to hit me. Luckily they were paying attention. I keep taking it to my mechanic. They are seeing nothing wrong. They don’t want to fix something that’s not broken also after I did the recall for the fuel pump. Now all these lights pop up on my dash. Driving used to be fun. Now it’s getting real scary. I am going to go back to the Honda dealer and see what they tell me but I did look up they have to keep fixing it until it’s fixed. Fingers crossed. I can’t get another car and I also can’t keep driving like this. It’s going to cause an accident.
My car is always having some electrical issue but when I type in my VIN number, no recalls are listed under my VIN number and then for the last couple of days I've been experiencing acceleration problems when I look up a 2018 Honda Accord it is saying that fuel pumps have been an issue, but my VIN number pulls up no information as far as me falling under that recall what are the proper steps to get my car looked at to see if my VIN number Even though it's not populating, any recall falls under the recall
Blown head gasket at 82,673 miles. Complete loss of power on the interstate traveling 70mph. This was after replacing all the injectors in April at 79065 miles. Same loss of power while attempting to merge into interstate. All maintenance was performed as scheduled.
While driving my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T, I experienced sudden coolant loss and engine overheating. Upon inspection by a mechanic, it was confirmed that the cylinder head is cracked, which is a known issue on the 2.0T engine. This creates a serious safety hazard because it can cause engine failure while driving, loss of power, or even fire risk if coolant mixes with oil. Honda has not issued a recall, but multiple owners have reported this same problem, and I believe it is a manufacturer defect. This should be investigated as it directly affects vehicle safety and reliability. symptoms: Overheating, coolant disappearing, white smoke, loss of power, warning lights, etc.
Blown head gasket
The engine coolant began to leak into the cylinders of the engine. The engine began to overheat in the middle of the freeway. I had to shutdown the car down and get it towed. The car is available for inspection. Yes, my safety was at risk. Diagnostics from the dealership indicated that the problem is a design flaw with the head gasket being too thin. There were no indications that the car was going to stall until after it stalled. Honda is putting our lives at risk by allowing citizens to drive a car that has an engine become locked/stall/overheat by design and without warning.
Car went into Limp mode, immediately brought to a Honda dealership. Planet Honda in NJ. Misfire in cylinder 3. Causation of misfire was a defect head gasket allowing coolant to flow into cylinder 3 causing a vehicle shut down and $3625 in repair costs. Warranty covered it but I have heard many other cases with this have not.
While accelerating uphill approximately 65 mph the car suddenly started to shutter and slow down to 35 mph. I forced me to move rapidly over to the right lane on a busy highway almost getting hit by a semi truck. Luckily I was able move to the shoulder and park the vehicle. I shut the vehicle off and tried to start it back up which it did but struggled to turn over. Using my OBDII scanner I found that multiple codes had appeared which included P0087 Fuel Rail/System Pressure to low and P0299 Turbocharger Underboost. Vehicle was towed to my residence where it currently sits until I am able to repair it. Prior to this happening there were No warning lamps or messages or symptoms. The failures first appeared while driving up hill. It was not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. The problem was not taken to dealer or independent service center to confirm since the car is out of warranty and cost to diagnose is ridiculously high. I myself diagnosed the failures and found that the mechanical fuel pump Part# 16790-5PC-H02 seized up and was not providing enough fuel to engine. And diagnosed that the waste gate actuator arm was to loose due to worn out bushings. (Poor engineering in my opinion since there is no way to replace just the bushings on the actuator causing customers to replace the entire turbo.) After replacing the mechanical fuel pump the vehicle was able to start up without issue and drives perfectly fine. I currently still have the fuel pump and the turbo is still in the vehicle if needed for inspection.
Failed head gasket. Resulting in complete engine replacement including turbo. Causing my car to go sluggish while driving Dealership inspected and confirmed engine and turbo replacement needed All the lights on the dashboard came on at time of incident
On the morning of July 26, 2025, while returning home from a grocery shopping trip, my vehicle experienced a sudden and severe loss of power while traveling on an interstate highway with a posted speed limit of 65 mph. Without warning, the car ceased to accelerate and began to decelerate rapidly. I immediately activated my hazard lights and attempted to locate a safe area to stop. Vehicles traveling behind and alongside me were forced to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. Fortunately, no accident occurred, though the situation clearly presented a significant risk of one. After pulling onto the shoulder, I turned the vehicle off and restarted it. It initially appeared to operate normally, allowing me to resume driving. However, within a few minutes, the loss-of-power incident occurred again. I managed to pull over a second time, restart the vehicle, and continue the approximately 10-minute drive home without further incident. Upon taking the car to my mechanic, I was informed that coolant was present in one of the cylinders, indicating a failed head gasket. The mechanic advised that I bring the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership for repair. The Honda service department performed diagnostics and confirmed the head gasket failure. The repair cost was $3,758, which I paid in full. Subsequent research revealed that this appears to be a widespread issue affecting certain Honda models manufactured between 2018 and 2022. I discovered numerous consumer complaints online and learned that a class action lawsuit has been filed regarding this exact defect. Based on my understanding, head gasket failures are uncommon—particularly in vehicles with relatively low mileage. My vehicle has approximately 83,000 miles on it. While I am dissatisfied with the substantial financial burden of this repair, my greater concern lies with the serious safety risk posed by the sudden loss of power at highway speeds. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed.
Engine overheating due to coolant leaking and car needing head gasket replacement Fuel injectors also failed
While driving my 2018 Honda Accord, the engine began running roughly and the check engine lights and multiple warning lights came on. The vehicle was taken to a Honda dealership for diagnosis. The service department informed me that coolant was leaking into the engine, causing damage to the head gasket and cylinders 2 and 3. They confirmed this issue and recommended either an expensive head gasket/cylinder repair or a full engine replacement. Prior to this failure, I occasionally noticed mild engine hesitation, but no specific warning messages about low coolant or overheating appeared until the check engine light activated. The dealership stated this is not an uncommon issue with this engine. Upon further research, I discovered many other 2018 Accord owners with the same 1.5L turbocharged engine have reported coolant intrusion, cylinder damage, and head gasket failures — often affecting cylinders 2 and 3 specifically. This appears to be a design or manufacturing defect in the engine. This type of failure poses a safety risk due to potential engine misfires, power loss, or stalling while driving. The problem was confirmed by a licensed Honda service center, and I believe this issue should be investigated further for potential recall or manufacturer accountability.
Honda Accord 1.5 TURBO, Head Gasket Blown for the second time in 2 years. The problem has been reproduce by dealer and independent service center. Then all warning lights show up on dash board.Emission system Problem, Brake system, Vehicle instability, Adapative cruise control, road departue.
Head Gasket Blown on a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 Turbo. Yes, yes warning lights have appeared.
Hi I just drive my car for about an 1hr and start losing power and a white smoke coming out the muffle I think the head gasket bad.
Honda has known for years that the 1.5L engines installed in 2018 or newer Honda Accords have issues with oil dilution causing major catastrophic engine failures, head gasket damage, fluids leaking into the cylinders, and costly repairs to cars with less than 86000 miles on them. Honda Corporation needs to address this concern before someone dies when the cars engine fails on the highway. My vehicles engine failed on a major road when I pushed on the gas peddle and had no power due to these concerns. Dealership stated numerous vehicles are coming in with these concerns right now which begs the question that it is not a one off situation but a failure of Honda Corporation.
While attempting to pass a slower vehicle in my 2018 Honda Accord with a 1.5L engine, the suddenly lost power and stalled down to 20 mph while I was alongside the other vehicle. This unexpected power loss put my life and the lives of others at serious life threatening risk. I immediately brought the care to a Honda dealership, where the tech was able to reproduce the issue. The performed a borescope inspection and confirmed that coolant was present inside one of the cylinders, indicating a failed cylinder head gasket. This type of failure should not happen, especially on a vehicle like this. I was the repair would cost $6,500. After researching, I learned that this is a known defect affecting the 1.5L engine and that multiple class action lawsuits have been filed. I also discovered that American Honda is aware of the problem and has instructed dealership service departments to report affected vehicles. In fact, they have even offered gift cards to service advisors who report these cases, but are charging customers for the repairs. That's nonsense. Just do a simple google search and you will discover what I did. During the failure, the check engine light and several other warning lights came on but only the check engine remained on. Since then the car has multiple indicator lights on. Despite multiple attempts to follow-up, the dealership has refused to return my calls. This is a serious life threatening safety concern that deserves immediate investigation. Thank you. Car had a rough start one morning. The engine light came on. All safety features were disabled. I took it to the car dealership that same day (sunset Honda San Luis Obispo California) they got back to me and said the car had head gasket failure. The dealership was the only person to do any meaningful mechanical work ( I did the oil changes) including transmission fluid and coolant changes spark plugs, belt sand valve adjustments etc. car is driven lightly as a daily commuter for work
All lights on head dash are on , all components are not working properly or effected because of this. (Engine light brake light abs light tire light traction control light , sensors out all) while driving vechile reduces power does not operate randomly , have to pull over shut the car off and turn it back on. Has high vibrations lot of shaking, stauling. I have had it looked at with multiple shops and dealer . Everybody is playing a guessing game and can not pin point what exactly it is . Was told it was spark plugs and coils, alternator , fuel injectors. ALL have been repaired, and still have all lights on dash and still facing every problem listed after repairs. Been inspected by manufacturer. Say not been resolved was told if it wasn’t what was already fixed they don’t know and that this is very common right now . It first started about a month ago.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated, prompting the contact to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway where the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the head gasket, resulting in a misfire in cylinder #3. The contact was informed that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened for a goodwill assistance claim, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The contact was later informed that the goodwill assistance request was denied due to a lack of service records with a Honda dealer. The failure mileage was 74,000. The VIN was not available.

Engine malfunction. Goes into “limp mode” going over 1800 RPM. Dealer has replaced engine coils and plugs multiple times. Sold as Honda True Used with warranty. Dealer states it’s out of warranty.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to exceed 10 MPH while driving. In addition, the contact stated when the vehicle was started, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with head gasket, fuel injectors, and turbo charger failures. The contact was informed that the head gasket, fuel injector, and the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,012.

The head gasket on my car blew before 150,000 miles. I had my car repeatedly serviced to include the recall for the fuel tank. I had to replace fuel injectors in a head gasket on this vehicle.
2018 Honda Accord 1.5T EX trim and I had a head gasket completely blown at around 82,600 miles. I, alongside with many many other 1.5T Accord owners, am experiencing this head gasket issue for such a low milage vehicle and it is simply inacceptable and Honda seems to be entirely ignoring this widespread, recurring problem on this engine. Reaching out and file a report in hopes of getting this to Honda's attention so they can address this asap. It has been 7 years since this problem and nothing has changed, which is not okay.
Head gasket blown
Well to start I had to replace my head gasket already last winter at 59K miles and for awhile now I had warning lights on my dash for CMBS system failure and cruise control/steering wheel controls don’t work besides the ones for music. No lane assist, none of those safety features work at all and haven’t for awhile
2/24/2025 Safety Recall work performed at Honda Marin; change Fuel Pump per recall. 4/28/2025 I reported vehicle stalling/misfiring, decelerating on its own and all lights keep coming on as a result of Fuel Pump change. Marin Honda performed cleaning of battery cables; technician claims nothing is wrong with the car. [XXX] car stalled at intersection, I went back to Honda Marin and reported vehicle is still having the same previous issues and complained that this is dangerous to have the car automatically decelerated on its own. This time I requested only for a diagnostic from Honda Marin. They spoke to my mom, who was not authorized to approve any work on my car, stated no blown head gaskets but mis-firing on cylinder 3, fixed the issue, passed pressure test(s), no leaks; and car was up to factory specks costs $2812.77 charged to my mom. 6/03/2025 brought car back to Honda Marin, same issues; service dept. road tested for 4 miles and stated the car was working as normal. 6/11/2025 told Honda Marin that the car is stalling and misfiring again; car shut down while on freeway; Honda Marin claimed problem was a punctured hose, charged $10.34 car up to factory specks. 6/12/2025 Brought car back to Honda Marin; still misfiring, stalling and dash lights coming on. Car will not accelerate past 3000rpm.; car shut down while in far left land on the [XXX] going to Marin County. Honda Marin performed leaked down test failed cylinder #4; blown head gasket; verbal quote approximately $5500.00 to fix. In addition to engine failures I had battery issues as well. Per reddit threads others too are having very similar issues, once the fuel pump is replaced, unexpected additional costs and safety failures often occur. This is a Honda Manufacturing Defect, the original fuel pumps are defective, causing a direct impact on the performance of the engine, unexpected damages which is leading to major financial and safety costs to the consumer. Doesn’t run as it should, all lights and warnings show on the dash
July 10th Honda went into limp mode as I accelerated would not drive over 20. Check engine light flashed on then off. Have taken car in several times no codes can be read. Believe it’s cylinder issues or fuel possible head gasket. All vehicle lights has displayed haven’t been able to get reads once car is turned off. Too many issues with no repair fix.
I never was informed about the fuel pump recall , all the lights on my car came on , acceleration was slower , car was jerking , and when taking it to Honda they stated 2 of my cylinders has a misfire and water or coolant leaked and blew my head gasket , the car never ran hot and the guy asked did any light come on and I told him for some old reason every light on the dash was on and the car is vibrating while even in park reverse and when it's moving . I've read up on this and there are numerous of people with this same issue and this should mean something , Honda stated it would cost 6000 to fix when they should have already been warning people of the matter ahead of time . For some odd reason the car would just drive 10mph when I am driving jumping out in traffic having to pull over and restart the car . Guy at Honda even stated fuel pump could have been the issue and they have witness this with other cars like mine
There are 10 warning lights currently on the dash. This is and has been an ongoing issue for over a year. Turning off the car then turning it back on the lights would go away. The car would periodically start to slow on its own while foot was still on the gas pedal which was dangerous in the middle of traffic or going 65 to 70 miles per hour on a highway. December 31, 2024 my car got towed to the Honda Dealership because the car stalled and wouldn't go past 15 miles per hour. Again the dash lit up. It was my understanding that it was because of the latest recall of the fuel pump issue that took over a year to be completed. The recall of the fuel pump was done January 6, 2025which took a week to complete and a week of work I missed with no available loaner car available to me. Once I got the car back the lights were not on the dash anymore but within 5 minutes of driving the car the lights came back on but the car did not stall and was able to go past the 15 miles per hour that was the original problem. Since January 2025 I have been dealing with these warning indicator lights and being the lights were on when Honda received the car to perform the recall I would assume a diagnosis would have been done but once I got the receipt there was no other issues recorded that was wrong with the car. There are absolutely too many Honda Accords with this problem. I've read everything from moisture in the tail lights triggering the lights, faulty battery, head gaskets, injectors to spark plugs. My car is no longer under a warranty and I have no means of paying for a guessing game when it comes to diagnosing the real problem with these cars. People are paying $5000 sometimes more and still having the same problem once they drive away. I honestly think a recall on this issue need to happen before something tragic happens. Maybe because it took over a year for Honda to get parts in to fix the recall fuel pump issue this is an exact result of going so long with the faulty fuel pump.
I went to enter the highway and the car would not accelerate and the check engine light was flashing and went into a limp mode. I got it looked at it it was giving me the misfire code for cylinder 2. I paid over $1k and had all the spark plugs replaced and coils. It was fine and then 6 days later it happened again. The mechanic looked at it pressurized with the bore scope and saw coolant. Then we knew it was the head gasket. This is crazy especially with Hondas being known for reliability. I’m at 87k miles and have been seeing that this happening to many others.

All of the lights in the dash came on . We took it to Honda , at first they said it was the coils and spark plugs. I had them replaced , the same thing happened again the computer read that it was misfiring on one of the cylinders . They kept it and ran several tests . They then tried to say that it the result of a bad oil change but we knew better. After about a month they said that it had over heated and blown the head gasket . I ended up having to use my warranty and pay a deductible.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord (1.5L Turbo Engine) and I have kept regular maintenance on the vehicle. I currently have 146,600 miles on the vehicle. I begin having problems last year as I was leaving work and my vehicle wouldn't start. I waited a few minutes for the vehicle to start and it started and several malfunction lights came on the dash including the engine light. I had a 30 minute drive home and as I was driving home the vehicle didn't want to pick up speed to the speed limit of 65. I drove slowly home. I had already made an appt with the Honda Dealership where I get my car serviced for an oil change a couple days before. The next day I had a family member to follow me 30 minutes away to the dealership to drop my car off. When I dropped the car off I told the service technician about the problem. Later that day the dealership's service department called to tell me that I my head gasket had blown and it would be around $4500.00 to repair. I began to ask questions as to how this could happen I had kept up with regular maintenance. The service technician begin to tell me different reasons, and I asked how when I had regular maintenance and some suggested maintenance required as well. I had my vehicle towed from the dealership to get a second opinion. The technician I took my vehicle to was authorized to work on Honda vehicles, and he asked me if I was aware of the complaints customers were having about their Honda 2018 (same model) was having about leaking coolant, cracked or blown head gaskets on cylinder 3. I told him I was not aware so I went and did research and found there were numerous complaints about the same problem I am having and Honda was not acknowledging the problem or people had the repair done which cost a couple thousand dollars only to have their cars still not working properly or getting the same malfunction lights. Now I have to look for another car. Honda's are supposed to last.
The Head Gasket is leaking at 135k miles after changing oil and filter every 5k miles and flushing coolant every 50k. Just a cursory internet search will show you how obvious the design defect is in the head bolts of the 1.5 liter turbo engine and they should be recalled.
Blown Head Gasket after taking my car in to Honda cars of Rock Hill SC, I had no issues, only took it to have the Fuel injector recall done, they did a diagnostic nothing came up, they did the fuel injector recall repair, and they asked if they could do the oil change i told them yes, a week later, my car lost power on interstate 77N in rock hill south carolina. I was going about 70 mph and it dropped from 70 to 20 mph in a matter of seconds, i had little time to get out the lane, i could have been killed or killed someone else i was terrified. Every known light on my 2018 honda accord came on, I have a video of the lights on my dashboard. I had it towed back to honda cars of rock hill on 5/30/2025 and was told I had a blown head gasket...I asked them how, they just put a fuel injector and nothing else was wrong with my car. they told me cost is $5500.00, i told them there as nothing wrong with my car prior to them doing the recall, Matt told me there was nothing i did, so i asked him what did they do to my car, I need them to replace my motor who knows what other damage happened my car had no issues.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of an unknown recall. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds on several occasions, the check engine warning light blinked, and the vehicle lost power. The vehicle was restarted after each failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My 2018 Honda Accord has become unsafe to drive. The car will not go over 15 mph, all the warning lights on the dashboard are on, and the engine and transmission feel shaky. The entire car shakes when I try to drive it, and it seems like multiple systems are failing at once. This happened suddenly and has made the car undriveable. My safety was put at risk because the loss of power happened while I was on the road. The problem has been looked at by my independent mechanic, but it has not been resolved. The vehicle is available for inspection.

Car falls into limp mode in traffic when a misfire is detected. I have had a mechanic investigate the misfire and has determined coolant in the cylinders, indicating a blown head gasket. This is a widely reported problem with this engine and the large number of complaints indicate this is a safety issue caused by Honda.
On 2025-06-12 at about 3:50 PM EST I triggered a remote start command from my phone via the HondaLink app to cool down the car before leaving work. When I went out to the car it had not started. I assumed the command had simply failed, so I returned home and parked in our attached 2-car garage at around 5:10 PM. At about 6:30 PM I opened the door between the house and the garage and heard an engine running. The car was found to have spontaneously started itself. I do not know precisely how long it had been running. It took me a couple seconds to recognize the situation and the danger, and once I realized what had happened I immediately closed the door to prevent carbon monoxide from entering our house. I tried accessing HondaLink to shut down the vehicle remotely but the app gave a message "Services Currently Unavailable". In order to safely shut it down, I opened the garage doors, waited a couple minutes for the garage to ventilate, then quickly moved in and shut down the engine while avoiding breathing in. We noticed a smell of fumes in our house near the connecting door. Both keys were in static locations (not in pockets, etc. where the buttons could have been accidentally pressed). They had been that way since I got home. I believe that HondaLink's servers sent the remote command to my vehicle *significantly later* than the command was requested. This is a major problem and safety checks should prevent a delayed command from having an effect on the vehicle, especially when dealing with engine start commands. The carbon monoxide buildup fortunately seemed to be minimal, although I am again unclear exactly how long the engine had been running. The vehicle will normally shut itself off 10 minutes after a remote start. However, the most dangerous situation would have been if the car shut itself off and then someone entered the garage shortly afterward without realizing that the vehicle had been running.
The vehicle was totally inoperable and suddenly came to stop was lucky that was driving in a local road where there was no vehicle, suddenly all different warning signs were coming on the dashboard and couldnt drive at all and vehicle was totally stalled. it was very dangerous situation luckliy i was just came off a very busy road otherwise coudl have been major incident. Currently the vehicle is at dealership nto sure what they will say but just wanted to report this as it is very dangerous situation
Faulty/Leaking blown head gasket Causes car to stall
Head gasket failure Causes car to stall
The head gasket is leaking. Yes, the dealer reproduced and diagnosed the problem. There were no lights on the dash. It is available for inspection if needed.
Apparently the coolant is leaking into chamber 2 and 3 and it’s burning it and I need to replace the head gasket. Spoke to and looked up a bunch of other people have had this same issue. It’s causing my car to stutter and it’s scary.
I am writing to report a serious mechanical issue with my 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T that I believe may constitute a design or manufacturing defect with potential safety implications. At approximately 112,000 miles, the engine in my vehicle suffered a blown head gasket, which my mechanic determined was caused by a stretched timing chain. This failure followed roughly nine months of unexplained coolant consumption, during which time no visible leaks were detected. In addition to the coolant loss, the vehicle experienced two separate instances of entering limp mode while driving, creating a significant safety risk due to sudden loss of power. Furthermore, during the winter months, I repeatedly lost cabin heat, suggesting early signs of internal engine issues related to coolant circulation or combustion gas intrusion. These symptoms point to a progressive failure that was not addressed by any recall or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) during my ownership. Given the growing number of reports from other 2.0T Accord owners experiencing similar issues with premature timing chain wear and associated engine damage, I believe this may be a systemic issue that warrants investigation by NHTSA. A stretched timing chain causing catastrophic engine damage can easily lead to unexpected stalling, limp mode, or loss of control in certain conditions — all of which raise concerns about vehicle safety and reliability.
• Head gasket • None of the safety features work when there is a head gasket issue. Power steering is reduced as well as break performance • Confirmed by Honda dealership with a Boroscope • Honda • No warning, Honda at first thought it would be fixed by fixing the factory recalls. Light went away prior to taking it in and then looked in to it 2 weeks later and diagnosed head gasket failure

I purchased this 2018 Honda Accord that has had no major problems until the last 6 months. I purchased the car from Gerald Jones Honda and have had all repairs and maintenance done there with the exception of tire related concerns and occasional oul changes. All the issues I've experienced have been engine related and in the same area of the engine. Consistent leaks, repeated warning lights, and loss of speed. I have replaced fuel injectors, a head gasket, and a turbo in the last 6 months. Despite those repairs, I'm still experiencing leaks and flashing warning lights. Honda currently has my car due to warnings again. They have indicated it is a performance issue but can't locate the problem. Even suggested I continue to drive the car as they have been unable to duplicate what caused it. I told them to keep it because that makes no sense for me to drive it as it seems unsafe to do so and I could potentially make matters worse. I've spoken to several 2018 Accord owners who have experienced the same issues. This is very concerning to me and crippling my finances. Honda stands out for their reliability, but regrettably the 2018 1.5L turbo doesn't stand up to Honda's reputation.
Engine keep going into limp every now and then and it’s pretty dangerous especially while driving on the highway. All the lights would come on the dashboard. On May 2 it almost cause an accident because it happened while I was driving on the freeway and I’ve changed spark plugs, injector my battery and it’s happening

This car had a manufacturer recall for the "fuel pump". I was advised by Honda to go get the car checked by the dealer to evaluate if the issues I was getting were related to the recall. I paid close to $400 to get the car diagnosed and about 3/4 months after that I was told that the part is available for the recall service. I got the repair scheduled at the dealership and got the part replaced. Ever since I got this fuel pump replaced, now the car is struggling to pickup. It looks like a miss fire but it doesn't show any errors on display. In this condition, this car is not safe to drive around as it is skipping the engine thrusts. I have looked at Honda website and other online resources and people are talking about these issues but HONDA hasn't said or done anything about it. It all started after I got the fuel filter replaced.
The 1000 miles or so, when trying to increase speed, would feel the gears slip between revolutions. I would let up on the gas pedal then slowly resume pressure, which sometimes worked or sometimes didnt. On April 19th while going up a hill on a side road, the car stalled and transmission warning light came on. I pulled over and shut the car off and restarted was able to slowly continue up hill at 15 miles per hour with the slipping becoming worse ( this is when I first called Honda to bring it in on Monday April 21.) I was able to arrive to work. After leaving work I pulled out of the parking lot and the car just stalled with all lights and warnings going off from engine to airbag warnings to tire pressure lights going off and dinging. This is when i called a tow truck to tow to the Curtiss Ryan Dealership. After talking to them at dealer they told me that other accords have had this problem.
This vehicle was built terrible. It had a blown head gasket at 86,000 miles. The head was warped. My valve guides and seals were compromised and leaking into the combustion chamber. I need a full head resurfacing job with new gaskets all around. New injectors and new valve cover gasket and everything around. This car has a design flaw and needs to be recalled for mediocre heads life. It almost caused me to get crashed from the back from a semi truck because the car decided to lose complete power while on the road. The cars recalls have been addressed but this whole issue with the faulty heads needs to be addressed. My vehicle is in the shop now and I will have to pay a little over $4,000 now. It's a hazard on the road when you get near to 90,000 miles.
Took in my vehicle to Rock Honda in Fontana at 125,000 miles for a second fuel pump recall. Two years ago my car stalled on me as I was driving on the freeway, it immediately decelerated from 65 MPH to 40 MPH, this happened before I had the first fuel pump recall fixed. Did the second fuel pump recall, and days later my car again began to decelerate from 50 MPH to 5 MPH. Brought it into the dealer and they told me my head gasket was blown.
Scanned for codes. Found P0303, P0299, and P2243 stored. Found coolant entering cylinder 3. Found excessive play in the waste gate rod and found A/F sensor is not responding. Needs head gasket. Vehicle starts up and runs rough. All alerts on alerts on dash on cust states check engine light on. Honda sensing alerts on.

Apparently the recall was fix with the fuel system, however the car is still losing power as you drive it.
I got a recall notice for my car for fuel pump which I got it fixed but now the dealership is saying I got fuel injector issues with head gasket issues. I have also read online that lot of people are having exactly this problem, their fuel pump injectors are also failing with head gasket on the 2018 Honda Accord and Honda is requesting $2000 in fixes

My car started misfire .. all the lights went on the dashboard .. had to get it towed .. headgasket issues
Cylinder 1 and Cylinder 3 misfire (Cylinder 3 misfired multiple times, even after attempts to fix it), and now I have a blown head gasket. On more than three separate occasions, my car has either stopped completely in the middle of the road—sometimes on the highway in the fast lane, with cars traveling 80+ mph behind me, putting my life at significant risk—or it will suddenly drop from the speed of traffic (80+ mph) to under 30 mph in a matter of seconds, out of nowhere. If it weren't for me swerving into an open lane to the right one time, I would have undoubtedly been rear-ended by a car traveling 80 mph. In that instance, my speed went from 0 mph to less than 30 mph in just seconds, which could have easily paralyzed me or even killed me had I hit my head on impact. Though I didn’t sustain a physical injury the first time this happened on the freeway, I did suffer a panic attack due to the sudden and extreme danger of the situation. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by two separate Honda dealerships at different times, but both were caused by the same issue. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, as I had it checked at two different Honda dealerships. No, there were no warning messages or symptoms prior to the failure; all issues occurred suddenly while driving, when my car barely started producing any power on the freeway.
I am reporting an issue with the fuel injectors on my 2018 Honda Accord. It is a known issue but has no recall. Honda has no replaced the fuel pump on my vehicle yet. I have read of multiple issues with the fuel injectors and/or the head gasket going bad on the Accords. I noticed a knocking sound in my engine and a loss of acceleration power. I took my vehicle to the dealership and they reported an injector failure but it was not covered by Honda. My vehicle has less than 70,000 miles on it at this time. I believe the injectors need to be under a safety recall for the Accords.
I recently took my car to the dealer because I have multiple messages on my dashboard saying please see dealer dealing with my brake system, electric power steering, vehicle ability assist, collision mitigation system problem, etc the dealers don’t know what’s going on with it. I recently had service done on it because of the recall with the fuel pump and even before that those messages were showing up.
Car has 164352 miles and has had a transmission replaced and a head gasket replaced. The head gasket is a known issue from what I have seen and there needs to be a recall. I have read time and time again about these cars needing a head gasket. Please add this to your list. Total repair for transmission, $3600. Total repair today for head gasket, $2913.
As my car falls under this law suit and no legal action has been taken for it, I'm reporting that the Head gaskets for the 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5L are not properly designed for the wear and tear on a 1.5L turbo. I'm not great with describing car and there internal functions, so please refer to the active court case (3:24-cv-02286). This is an on going issue with the 1.5L Accords and is well known by the company. This issue typically comes with a ~$4500 replacement of the Head Gasket. In my case, I also head to replace 2 injectors that the dealer ship was saying were read as feeding rich. A common diagnostic that can also be caused by Coolant Leaks. These problems causes my car to flare every warning light available. I have no heat from the heater. My car sometimes won't shift or go into gear. I've yet to get this fixed as the mechanic is still awaiting word from me to proceed, so I don't have a invoice for the Head gasket repairs.
Gasket headed
Engine can randomly blow a turbo of head gasket while traveling on freeway making you stranded in middle of the freeway and disable all the safety features while doing so. Extremely danger
The components and systems that are failing and malfunctioning in my 2018 Honda Accord are the engine, head gasket, fuel, injectors and turbo. While in motion, the car jerks and has issues with acceleration requiring the safety hazard lights to be come on and I’m unable to keep up with marked speed limit while traveling due to the sluggishness of the vehicle. The majority of these issues have been confirmed by a Honda dealership as well as another car shop. There are several warning and safety hazard lights that come on and go off the dashboard. Many times, I have to pull on the side of the road due to not being able to drive this vehicle.
While waiting for the recalled parts to be in stock for the fuel pump module, my car starting running rough and going into limp mode several times a day. Thus causing near accidents with my children in the vehicle. After getting the fuel pump module recall fixed I asked and had to pay for a diagnostics test to see what was causing the car to do this. We were told it was the fuel injectors and were quoted $2000 to replace those. That was done 4 days ago at the dealer, and it happened again yesterday! We took the car back to the dealer today and they have just informed us we need to replace the head gasket & turbo and had a coolant leak causing these issues?! Why that was never seen in the original diagnostics test nor a problem 4 days ago, but after spending $2000 we did not have to keep our family and others safe, we are now being told it will cost over $5000 to fix these now issues. We can’t afford that and now I don’t know what I am going to do! Honda needs to step up to the plate and take some culpability here and be responsible for what clearly appears to be a much needed recall for 2018 Accords! This is ridiculous. And for the service advisor to tell us this happens all of the time to these, if not daily, should speak volumes!
Three times, while driving, the car went into limp mode and would not accelerate. Had to pull over, turn car off, and back on to fix the issue. Have had it looked at and they have mentioned engine coils and a new control module. Had it at the dealership in January and they did their full inspection and to fix fuel pump recall and didn’t mention any issues regarding this.
February 2025 All the warning light on in my car came on. I took it Honda where they had me pay $250 for a diagnostics. At 85K miles, that's when I found out a had a blown head gasket and need a replacement. They also suggested a new fuel injector. They quoted me $7,000. My warranty just expired. This was my car and I didn't know anything about warranties and renewals. I always go to go Honda for my services and I had just visited a few weeks prior and they didn't see anything wrong my car. The Honda service guy told me to car it to the nearest Carfax because my car and sell it. I was so distraught. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the money to pay for this.
July 2023 my overheated took it to Honda dealership in Memphis tn on covington pike after 3 days it was diagnosed with head gasket failure I paid 5000 to get that fixed not including a faulty air compressor fixed in 2021 costing 1000 so while traveling [XXX] it overheats and guess what the engine starts knocking and white smelly smokes starts coming out the tail pipe wow it's not drivable we're in Missouri on the side of the road stranded guess gaskets had blown while driving a bomber and guess what we had pay 500 for a tow truck to tow us back to Marion ar because the 1.5t engines [XXX] and im constantly buying coil packs and spark plugs this my third complaint I'm tired of spending my hard earned money and nothing is being done fix it Honda INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Christmas Tree dashboard with all lights on appeared a few weeks ago. Took car to auto shops twice. First time I was told coil 1 for cylinder 1 was misfiring, replaced with new coil. Lights did not go away, got my codes read again and was same error message of coil 1 misfire. In the past week car would not accelerate past 15mph after start up. I was immediately concerned it was a head gasket issue since that is a very known defect for my exact make and model of vehicle. Took into my Honda Dealership where I purchased my Accord brand new. Was just told Fuel injectors need to be replaced even though vehicle has been maintained properly. To me this seems this is directly correlated with the current fuel pump recall issue, I asked the service advisor if that was the case and she said she’d get back with me, and that she’s currently waiting to hear back from my Lifetime Powertrain Warranty company (Fidelity Warranty Services) to see if the fuel injector replacement is covered by them. If this make and model has time and time again been known to have faulty fuel injectors and head gasket issues that directly put the drivers safety at risk and end up causing thousands of dollars in repairs, Honda needs to take responsibility for rushing out vehicles without properly testing them first. If fuel injectors are not covered under my warranty, I will be contacting American Honda to assist me with the cost of the repairs.
Head gasket replacement Fuel injectors replacement Driving my car started sputtering and jumping. I took to Honda South to get it diagnosed. I was told it needed fuel injectors and a head gasket. Also to get other things done since the engine will taken apart (drive belt, timing belt, water pump). I started a conversation with a service mechanic in the lobby and told him my issue. He told me the 1.5 turbo engine has problems with the head gaskets and they see a lot of them.
I was driving to college all of a sudden the car went into limp mode. Before I could do anything I called Honda and they didn’t answer so I personally drove it to the Honda dealership 10 minutes away from me. They inspected the vehicle and told me the head gasket has been blown. The car has been garage kept never abused and they are charging me $6,100 for the repairs. It’s been a common issue for the 1.5t engine of the Honda accord and they have yet to acknowledge their manufacture defect. Please do something about this I have to pay for college how in the world am I gonna have money to pay $6,100 for a repair cost.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was idling rough when started. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, and the contact was made aware of misfires in cylinders #1 and #4. The contact was informed that the coil packs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving 65 MPH on Interstate 75, the vehicle lost power. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact merged to the side of the road to exit the interstate. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with misfires in cylinders #1 and #4, and the coil packs needed to be replaced. The dealer notified the contact of the recall for the fuel pump, and the vehicle was repaired for the most recent failure, and the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

My car is having the same issue as the new recall on the 2023-2025 Honda Pilot sport utility vehicles (SUVs), 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type-S SUVs and 2021-2025 with the power loss and my car is stalling. Sometimes when I turn my car on, put it in drive, impress my gas pedal it will not go. I have to cut my car off, wait for about 30 seconds, restart it and then it will go.I took my car to Honda in Tifton Ga and I was told that it was my fuel injector. I was given code P0301 from Langdale Honda in Valdosta ga. I was quoted $1600 to fix this issue which I do not have. I’m currently having this issue and I’m sure it’s many others.

My Accord HG Issue Well my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5t that I’ve owned for not even 2yrs and | bought it with 54k and now has only 59k on it and has started acting up the last few weeks!!! It went into limp mode once a few weeks ago outta nowhere and just shut my car off and so I then turned it off and back on and it reset. Well fast forward a week later and limp mode again and so l hooked it up to a OBD scanner and said misfire cylinder 3 so l replaced the spark plugs and at that point. I then noticed the oil was low and due for a change and it smelled like straight gas. So drove a lil bit and limp mode again and again it said misfire cylinder 3!!! So then I decided to swap the coil pack and checked the spark plug again and seemed normal, also I noticed my coolant was below minimum so I filled it hoping that was my issue and cruised later and no limp mode so l thought I that fixed it, but one thing I noticed was at higher rpm’s in Ist gear the exhaust would backfire a lil but no limp mode. Well the next day I went cruising for a few hours and it was good all night but then on my way home it went into limp mode again!!! So Saturday was when I filled my coolant and Sunday after cruising I checked my coolant and it was still at full, well l checked it again on Monday night and it’s now in the middle of full and minimum and the new fresh oil smells like straight gas and also went down a lil!!! So then I had a buddy who’s a mechanic with borescope look at the cylinders and cylinder 3 was not great 4 had a lot of carbon build up and liquid in which looked like antifreeze and I also did another test that confirmed it was the head gasket!!! This is VERY DANGEROUS and a SAFETY issue BIG TIME because I was on the highway and all of a sudden I lost power at 70mph and couldn’t accelerate and had to pull over on the highway which was even more dangerous and had to shut it down and then it would reset and I was able to drive until it happened again!!!

My 2018 Accord Sport 1.5 blew the head gasket at 118,000 miles. I've always taken good care of the car—it's never been damaged or abused, and I’ve used the highest quality engine oil for every oil change at 10k miles, even though Mobile claims it can last up to 25k miles. One morning, on my way to work, I started experiencing a misfire as I pressed the gas when the light turned green. Suddenly, the car lost all power, and I had to turn on my hazards and coast to the shoulder. After turning off the engine and waiting a few minutes, I was able to start it again and barely make it to work. I initially suspected a bad spark plug or coil pack, so I replaced all four plugs and coil packs. The fix worked for a day, but then the misfiring returned. The code was reading “cylinder 4 misfire,” so I decided to take it to Honda for a diagnostic. They called me after the test and informed me that the head gasket for that cylinder had blown, quoting me $5,000 for the repair. I refused to pay that and decided to tackle the job myself instead. The dealership wanted to drop the engine and disconnect everything, even suggesting a transmission fluid change, despite the fact that I’d had it serviced just 15 to 20 thousand miles ago. After doing some research, I found a replacement head gasket for only $35 and went ahead with the repair. Everything was going smoothly until I hit a snag with the crankshaft pulley nut, also known as the harmonic balancer nut. Despite numerous attempts, it just wouldn't budge. I tried using a 1,200 ft-lbs 1/2” pneumatic impact, then switched to a 1,600 ft-lbs 1/2” Milwaukee battery impact, and even got a pulley lock to secure it in place with a breaker bar. Unfortunately, the pulley is poorly made! When we over-torqued it, we ended up breaking the pulley even more. We also tried a torque multiplier, which only made things worse. Now, the only way to get that stubborn nut off is with a 2,000 ft-lbs impact, but I still haven't managed to break it free.
Misfire from premature failure of head gasket and poor design causing coolant to enter engine
Last year I got new Gaskets which wasn't cheap july 2024 all sudden now its losing power after accelerating and constantly burning out spark plugs these engines are terrible I've seen so many people with the same complaints and it's becoming a pain something needs to be done about this I feel it's dealing with the 1.5t engine Today I while accelerating check engine and lost power during busy traffic im in the road having cut the car off and restart it then it goes back to driving right and my son and 2 grandkids were in the vehicle very dangerous Honda needs too check 2018-2022 1.5t vehicles this is a safety issue that needs fixed immediately ty

At approx 10pm, vehicle was moving at a steady speed of 70mph on urban highway on New Year's Eve. Without any indication or warning, the car stalled/had loss of power for about 1-2 seconds and recovered and then about 1-2 minutes later stalled again and recovered. No dashboard lights ever came on. I thought maybe the clutch was failing again. I immediately got off the freeway to find a safe place to call for tow. As I drove to parking lot, my motor made a loud, uncoordinated, rattling noise which is towards the left side and near the engine cover. I thought it might be the serpentine tensioner because only the belt only had been replaced in May 2024. The rattle gets louder with high RPMs. After reviewing service records, oil change on 04/18/24 is the first mention of valve cover leak, and oil change 12/23/24 indicates possible rear main seal leak, residue around rear main cover which made me suspect gasket failure. The dealership denied the fault lies with tensioner or clutch and said the knocking sound is from the lower portion of the motor - possibly a faulty knock sensor - and the engine would not be disassembled to provide a more specific diagnosis. The dealership said a replacement engine is needed. No diagnostic codes or other specifics were provided. Dealership replaced fuel pump module per recall protocol. My and my grandchild's safety were jeopardized because my malfunctioning vehicle could have created a deadly traffic hazard among NYE celebrants who may have been driving distracted or with impaired cognitive function. In the past when my vehicle had stalled, it would lose power and I would have to coast off the freeway or to the side of the road. In those instances, my car created a traffic hazard & congestion for the vehicles behind me and toward the side that I was trying to exit.

I was on the highway with moderate traffic. My car would no longer accelerate due to a blown head gasket out of nowhere, I was on the far left lane and had to traverse over 5 lanes in moderate traffic while other drivers on the highway were going 60+ mph. This is a common issue among Honda Accords with the 1.5 engines.

My vehicle was purchased in 2021. It is a 2018 Honda Accord Touring model. The engine is a 1.5TRG. My current mileage is 88,405. About three weeks ago, my mom drove my car to the store and the dash lit up. By this I mean that the dash lights lit up for check engine light, lane mitigation, oil, etc. She was less than 5 minutes from the house and immediately drove back and parked the car. Mind you, I've driven a car with a blown head gasket. It smoked, temperature gage would show that the vehicle was hot, etc. My car never showed any signs that the vehicle was exhibiting or about to run hot or any other engine issues. At a later time, maybe a week later, I attempted to drive the car and it sputtered and barely wanted to take off. I parked it. My service appointment was 12/13/24. I paid $200 to have them diagnose and tell me the issue. I drove my vehicle to the dealership thinking that this could have been a sensor issue. Had I known that this was the problem, I would have had it towed there. The vehicle is now at my home parked. I researched this issue and from what I've seen, there are several consumers that are experiencing the issue. I own a 2014 KIA Soul that experienced a similar issue. Hyundai/KIA performed the repair FREE of charge and also provided me with a rental. I am currently still financing this Honda Accord and I think that it is completely unfair to the consumer to pay upwards of $4K for something that is clearly a manufactures issue. Aside from replacing the gasket, they also included replacing the spark plugs, timing chain, etc. This was my dream car but has since been a nightmare knowing that not only do I have to continue to pay the note but to pay $4K for repairs that aren't my fault. I maintain the oil changes for the vehicle and any other recommended services. Someone needs to hold them accountable to stand by their product.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the backup camera was turning on and off. While reversing, the backup camera turned black over time. The check engine and ACC adaptive cruise control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who confirmed the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V629000 (Back Over Prevention, Visibility). The dealer provided an unknown diagnosis, but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who opened a case and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 98,179.

1. The head gasket on my 2018 Accord LX 1.5t was lifting and causing a leak of coolant to enter cylinder #3 and therefore burned one of the valves within the cylinder. 2. Safety issues that I experienced was the car stalling randomly while driving causing me to have to pull over in unsafe locations. 3. A Honda dealership has confirmed the burnt cylinder valve and recommended a head gasket and cylinder valve replacement. 4. No police or insurance agency has inspected the vehicle/parts, only a Honda dealership and private mechanic. 5. The were all the dashboard lights that came on but the car had stalled immediately after without much time to prepare.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle lost power and became inoperable. The contact pulled over to the side of the road for one to two minutes and returned independently. The contact stated that during the second failure, while depressing the accelerator pedal the vehicle failed to respond and slowed down independently and the vehicle lost power for the second time. The contact stated that during the third failure, the vehicle lost power, and the contact pulled over to the side of the road the vehicle became inoperable for fifteen minutes and returned independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer found no failure with the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. honda has yet to fix the fuel pump issue after issuing recall on the fuel pump over a year ago. I've been by the Honda dealership numerous times trying to get this recall fixed. Now i am having many issues with my car and i can't even drive it at this point. The Honda dealership told me that I have a cracked head which has caused may other issues. There is known issues with the 2018 Honda accord 1.5t that Honda has to even acknowledge. There wasn't an accident thankfully quick thinking on my behalf. There are many issues that Honda had refused to acknowledge and as single woman living off one check and still paying for my car, recently fired because it's now hard for me to get to work because i do not make enough to uber to work and pay my monthly bill it's caused me many issues and lots of out-of-pocket expenses. Now as I am trying to find a remote job that i don't have to drive into I am desperately trying to not lose my house which is almost out of my control and will be homeless because of this known issue that Honda has known about and has yet to do anything about. i have loved my car and to the point I was thinking about trading in and getting a brand new one and would have been Honda fan the rest of my life this has ultimately ruined my life, and I am hating this decision to buy one from the get-go. This should be illegal, and Honda should be held responsible for fixing this issue which has cost me almost my whole life. The fuel pump has failed which either indirectly or directly has affected the head gasket, and every light is lite up on my dashboard and goes into limp mode when trying to go. the warnings that are up are the emissions, the electrical warning has been on for years and no could or can find out why. I've taken it into the Honda dealership & other repair shops trying to get this fixed, but no one can figure it out. I can accelerate to get up to speed and it tells me to not brake hard, on top of the other warnings this has caused to come
My head gasket is blown. It blown while I was driving down the road, it went into limp mode. I took it to the dealership and got it inspected. My car kept running hot, it also keep losing speed and lights on the dashboard.
Head Gasket failure. This causes the car to begin misfiring/stalling while accelerating. This is seriously dangerous. It happens when you are accelerating. Then, since it's an emission/misfire issue, the car goes into limp mode and forces the car to no longer exceed the limp mode speed, which is usually like 30 or 35 mph.The stark difference from highway speed resulted in me almost getting rear-ended by a semi. This has happened to me on two different occasions and posses a legit safety concern for everyone. You can do a simple 2-second Google search and find an insane amount of people having the exact same issue. I am luckily trained in high stress and ooo shit scenarios, so I was able to successfully get the car off the road without dying or getting smoked by a semi or driver not expecting the car that just entered the highway to drastically be slowing down. However, the average person would probably not instinctively hit the hazards and get over/off the road and onto the side. This issue is completely unrelated to the fuel pump recall because if it was a fuel pump failure, the car would never end up in limp mode. Limp mode is almost always emissions related(IE misfiring from head gasket leakage).

The first recall email I got was on 12/19/23, in January 2024 I realized I started to have an issue with my fuel pump. So I called my local Honda dealership to get the part replaced at that point they said they didn’t have to part and to check back in a few months. I was told I could use fuel pump cleaner in the meantime to help my car’s performance until I can get it replaced. I called again in May they still didn’t have the part so they said to call back in the fall they should have the parts by then. At this point I’ve been having to put fuel cleaner in my car weekly in order for it to be drivable. 9/10/24 I called the dealership they tell me to call back the next day. 9/11/24 they still didnt have the part and I’m on a waiting list. 11/20 I feel my car is becoming to dangerous to drive it started to make a loud noise during acceleration so I contacted a non local dealership and they don’t not have the part either.11/21 my car is now making a whirring sound and now smoking when accelerating so I contacted another non local dealership they had the part so I immediately scheduled an appt for 11/22 at 10:30am to have the part replaced. They said it would take 3-4 hours to fix. I had my boyfriend drive the car to the appt as I am [XXX]. The appt took only 1hr to complete. They said it was done and gave the keys back to him and he left. The car seemed fine to drive in the beginning then about 10 minutes of driving it started back up. He got back home and at this point I am completely frustrated. I have the car towed to my local Firestone to have a diagnostic check ran on it. And it came back the engine is messed up. I am not calling anymore of local dealerships I just want my car towed be fixed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
At 59/k miles the fuel injectors have all got to be replaced at a cost of 1700. I bought a Honda for reliability. I am learning now online that the fuel injectors on the 2018 Honda Accord are a major problem but there is no recall.
My 2018 Honda Accord with just 81k miles had its head gasket blown. The car has never been modified and I don't drive it hard. I was driving on the highway this past weekend (11/22/2024), and the car went into limb mode and stalled me on the highway. The check engine light started flashing and other lights on the dashboard all came on at once It started misfiring sporadically, so I took it took Honda and they told me due to Engine faulty design, the coolant is leaking into the combustion chamber and flooding the spark plugs, causing misfires. The service advisor at the Honda dealer mentioned that many customers with the same engine are experiencing this exact issue, and that it's only covered under extended warranty, otherwise I would have to pay out of pocket, I was quoted $5700
My head gasket and yes it’s available as long as the shops local. Can’t really drive it also I put fuel because a part of the problem is Honda recommending running 87 for fuel in manual and for a turbo car with direct injection that is part of the reason that’s causing this too happen too soo many 1.5t Accords! As far as safety it’s very dangerous, I went into limp mode multiple times on the highway and when that happens losing power on the highway is dangerous but having to pull over on the side of the highway is VERY dangerous!! Yes it has happened over and over and goes into limp mode just about everytime driven and yes a dealer has seen it. Yes every time it’s happened the dash lights up like a Christmas tree with check engine light! It started in Sept!!
I was attempting to accelerate on the acceleration ramp to merge into traffic on the interstate, when my vehicle began violently jerking, and suddenly lost all power. My check engine light came on and it went into limp mode. This has happened twice now. Both times I was able to make it safely into the shoulder of the road with my hazard lights on. I turned the vehicle off, reset it, and have had to drive it since. The warning lights are on and off, depending. They’ve had since December of 2023 to release a recall and they haven’t yet. I need a remedy.
Vehicle engine stalled under acceleration and would not go over 7 mph. Had to pull over and turn car off.
on going issues with 1.5 t direct injection issue with major blown head gaskets. my head gasket now has blown and causes a serious safety issue with limp mode no power. All warning light where on and i was in a turn lane on a major highway and when i took off car limp mode and almost taken out by a semi truck lucky he changed lanes to avoid hitting me. Look at internet, facebook etc absolutely a ton on blown head gaskets in these 1.5t honda accords needs recall issued.
Losing coolant, told possible blown head gasket. Come to learn, this is a FREQUENT issues with the 10th gen Accords!
The car was parked, I turned on the car and the whole dashboard lite up, the car wouldn't move, when it did it was really sluggish. Took to dealership and determined it was a bad head gasket with a misfire in the cylinder two. People are complaining about this issue all over the Internet, bad head gaskets prematurely blowing for 2018-2020 honda Accords
Honda dealership told me that coolant has leaked into the head gasket causing my car to have a rough startup. My car never had issues until month ago.

I Have been waiting since August of 2024 to have my car repaired. I have called Honda numerous of times about my car not starting and stalling while driving. I was basically told that they will not order the part and replace until my car is fully not running at all. I was told I would have to pay for a diagnostic and for my vehicle to be towed to get looked before they can decide to order the part for my recall that is suppose to be Free. I am at the point of just taking this situation to Court.
Cam position sensor on bank 1 went out at 75k miles. Causing the vehicle to go into a sort of limp mode. The only way the issue was temporary fixed was if the battery was unplugged and plugged in again and the engine was up to operating temperature.
Blown head gasket caused me lots of stress and it put me in a very bad financial position.
I have a 2018 1.5 Touring with 94k (bought 5 years ago with 7k miles. Religiously performed all maintenance including oil changes and transmission fluid. I started having this issue on and off about 2k miles ago. This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes the car runs great with no problem...then the next time I start the car there is a rough idle and I get the shuttering/jolting/jerkiness (feels like the engine is misfiring) when the engine revs over 2.5k rpms or so. Out of habit, I typically drive in eco mode as I drive mostly highway miles. I also noticed that this is less of an issue in sport mode. If the jerkiness starts, keeping the car under 2k rpms avoids any additional jerkiness. If I accelerate, I will get one of two results: - The first is limp mode, which I can solve by pulling over, turning the car off, turn the car back on and the check engine light goes away...and the car may or may not be jerky again. - The second is limp mode with a Christmas tree of lights on the dash and warnings in the tachometer display area - which cycles through the following system problems: "Brake System", "Vehicle Stab Assist", "Hill Start Assist", "Adaptive Cruise C System", "Collision Mit Braking System", "Road Departure Mit System", "Emission System", "Electronic PS System ". If I turn the car off and back on, the error lights and messages still appear. I can clean the codes (P0302 cylinder #2 misfire) with my scanner, then the messages and lights go way...and the car may or may not be jerky again. I took the car to an experience independent shop that works primarily on Hondas. My mechanic had not seen this issue before. He test drove it and (luckily) experienced the issue. I asked him to install the new spark plugs that I bought from Honda. He also swapped coil packs around and had the same issue. He pulled the codes before and after the new plugs and swapping the coil packs around and the code was still on Cylinder #2.
Car is not properly driving , engine stops while driving , causing car to over heat after 20 minute use
I’ve been trying to get my part replaced since August and I’ve been hundreds of dollars in between that time till now WASTING MONEY! And I’ve been told by 3 different dealerships that because I wasn’t experiencing what they considered major issues that they decided to not see me for the recall based off the information provided. I spoke with someone yesterday that I spoke to weeks ago about the same thing, and was told they didn’t have the part then when I asked to speak to a manager, he put me on hold and told me the part was in. I haven’t been able to drive my car since last Friday. It’s a huge inconvenience, as getting this part replaced would eliminate that issue I had to beg and threaten ppl jobs to get it replaced! But the amount of money I’ve wasted and fallen behind on MY BILLS IS CRAZY!!!!!! Honda should be cutting me check for the money loss as result so I can pay on things I had to wait on.. or create arrangements for along with having to ask my family for help because of the money I’ve been wasting the last two months
The fuel pump system in my Honda Accord 2018 Lx failed causing my car engine to turn off while I was driving on the express lane which then caused my car to spin out and slam my backside of the car into the wall. I was driving alone in the car with my seatbelt on and was able to blow my horn to alert other drivers to slow down. The vehicle was only inspected by the policer officer who arrived on scene and took notes of the incident. There was no warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to the failure. I was only cognizant of this fuel pump issue from the recall letter.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle experienced a rough idle and shuddered. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle skipped and was running rough. Additionally, the vehicle experienced excessive fuel consumption and lost motive power. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs and the turbo needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the parts; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 137,000.

The problem first started on 8-8-24 when I cranked up my car & the dashboard lit up with all of these different sensors. I called Leith Honda dealership in Aberdeen, due to that is where I take my car to be serviced at, my customer service rep (Brian) stated to wait to see if they would stay on, because of that type of car will reset itself. So later on, that day they did, go away after driving it a while. Then a sensor popped up on 8-10-24 & stayed on for just a day, then came back off again. I called again & he stated to wait again so that the car can be diagnosed, but it had cut off again. So, a few days had gone by & in the middle of driving on the highway while going 60 mph, all of the same sensors came back on & the car would not go over 40 mph due to one of the main sensors stating "Emission System Problem. Avoid Heavy Acceleration & High Speed. See Your Dealer." Along with my 21MONTH old baby in the car! DANGEROUS! My job (travel CNA) requires me to travel from facility to facility & I need my car to be reliable. The rep said it really sounds like the recall part that is going bad in my car needs to be replaced & until it stays on sticks; there is nothing that can be done. I beg to defer! Is it going to take for me to get into a car accident & jeopardize my daughter & I safety in order for the part to be replaced, after what the recall notification states that can be done while operating the vehicle. Along with the recall stating that they are only willing to replace the part for free if the car is potentially life threating or inoperable. The fact that they are taking their time replacing these parts is dangerous or mindful at all. I love my car, but I am not willing to put my daughter's life, or mine nor anyone else's life in danger by continuing driving this car and still having to pay for it. I deserve for this part & anything else that is affected, due to the part needing to be replaced. Thank you for resolving the issue.
Car lost power when trying to drive and I almost got hit by oncoming traffic. The car was fine and I had full power but all of a sudden without warning I had no power . I shut the car off and it was fine again. The car is at dealer and it turns out it is a bad (blown)head gasket. The service advisor stated it’s a well known problem with the 1.5 liter engine, in fact he, he stated they had six Honda accord 1.5 liter cars at the dealership with the same problem.
During regular driving, the vehicle engine will stall and lose power, with 9 different warning lights coming on and ALL advanced driver assistance systems becoming disabled, and I believe ABS brakes being disabled as well. This is due to cylinder 3 misfires and the problem is intermittent, but the loss of power can come on randomly and is dangerous on highways as you have to pull over due to the sudden loss of engine power, restart the car, and hope the problem temporarily goes away. The L15BE engine used in 10th gen Accord engines is widely known to have a faulty engine block design leading to EARLY head gasket leaks (see links) which results in misfires and I think it is imperative that Honda issue a recall as thus far, they have been ignoring the pleas of the owners. I am planning on replacing the gasket ($4000 personal mechanic. Honda charges closer to $6000) with aftermarket parts ($400 additional) as replacing them with OEM parts would just allow this to occur again. Please contact me for more details. The youtube video goes into succinct detail of the design issue at hand which is mechanical in nature, however it directly effects driver and transportation safety: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=age8_Mi5sEU&list=PLTM0MsUKWXaQEG8lbsVJ99W1TvHbWiAXR&index=5 There are no shortage of people experiencing this and the problem extends to the entire fleet of vehicles using the L15 engine block including CRVs and Civics. https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/blown-head-gasket-any-recall.559243 https://www.reddit.com/r/accord/comments/1ag0fzm/gen_10_head_gasket_failure_update https://www.reddit.com/r/accord/comments/182zdzh/2018_honda_accord_blown_head_gasket https://www.accordxclub.com/threads/2018-honda-accord-sport-1-5-engine-fail.8781/ https://www.reddit.com/r/accord/comments/zn2srz/2018_15t_touring_with_blown_head_gasket_after_4 https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/blown-head-gasket.83781/
Car started not wanting to accelerate and all of the dash lights came on, thankfully it was on a rural road and not the freeway. My 20 year old daughter was driving and was so startled by what was happening the she almost went into a ditch getting to the side of the road. Hooked it up to a code machine and it said that it was misfiring so we replaced spark plugs and coils. This happened in July of this year (2024). We took it in for both of the recalls, it was a software update and a fuel pump mount replacement. In between changing plugs and coils and doing the recalls the engine started slightly shaking. The engine shaking was listed as a symptom of the bad fuel pump mount so we thought the fix for the recall would take care of the problem. We got it back after the fuel pump mount recall and it ran great for about 2 weeks. And then the shaking came back. We took it to our local Honda dealership and it turns out that it had blown head gaskets. This is a 2018 Honda Accord that has had all of its oil changes. So it seems to me that something is wrong with some components of the engine. Other than all of the indicator lights coming on the one time we never had and check engine lights come on and the car never overheated or if it did the gages never relayed this information. This is the second time in a year and a half, fuel injectors went bad an were replaced and im assuming this time is same issue. The car had a little rough idle . The car throws a check engine light and all other lights on dash come on and vehicle went into a sort of limp mode.. car would not excellerate and all safety items will not work… the injectors went bad at 59000 miles and after being changed at dealer it looks like they are bad again at 78000 miles.. this car is dangerous because of these issues..i am calling dealer on Monday
two weeks after I purchased this vehicle the electrical system failed causing the car to drive in the ditch, Land Rover of mount Kisco, ny sold me the vehicle, after multiple attempts to find out what was going on with it, it was found that someone had rigged the electrical wiring harness and wrapped it with electrical tape and taped it down causing the electrical system to malfunction, after that was repaired in august 2023 the car veered off the road again this time hitting a speed limit sign the damage was on the side of the vehicle but the vehicle would not move at all and all the lights were on again, the police stated where the damage is on the car it should not had caused the car to do what it was doing after I explained I was just driving along and the vehicle just went its own way, I told the insurance company about the previous issues, they repaired the car and that's it, I got the car back 24 hrs later all the lights came back on the dashboard, they still could not figure it out this was in September of 23, by December 23 the lights came back on the Honda dealership said it was the fuel pump this was because the lights came back on and the car stalled on the interstate almost causing a collision so I had to have it towed to the dealership, I paid $1300 only to find out Honda had a recall the dealership said it was the same part number and advised me to contact Honda for a reimbursement in which Honda has refused to reimburse me after to attempts, as I looked at the recalls on this car this car has had two different recalls on the fuel pump for this vehicle, that was repaired drove the car for 4 weeks the lights came on the dashboard again, I took it back to the dealership they said its the turbo booster, I am convinced the dealership who sold me this vehicle knew this vehicle was not in any condition to be on the road with a family in it, I have asked Honda to buy the car back they have refused, this car cannot be repaired.
My fuel injectors went bad and my engine shut down while I was on the highway, only allowing me to drive 5mph.
These Accords are an extreme safety hazzard. Experienced an instant loss of power and without any prior warning signs. Once the issue accured the vehicle was impossible to drive putting the vehicle occupants and everyone on the road at risk. Now Honda does not want to fix the problem because they feel that would be an admission of guilt. This is not the first I've heard of this issue with these vehicles and I'm sure it will not be the last please help push these vehicles for a safety recall before more people get hurt.
My head gasket went out while I was driving down the road at around 68425 miles. The result was that the car threw a bunch of error codes and went into limp mode while on the highway. I was fortunately able to pull off into a parking lot due to low traffic at that time of day but it was a major road that is full of vehicles during a busy time of day. This was a safety issue because my car effectively lost power and I was stuck coasting on a road where traffic regularly travels between 45-50+ mph. The head gasket failure was confirmed by the local Honda dealer and was replaced under warranty (certified pre-owned).
3 days and 26 miles after picking up my car following the repair for the issue reported in NHTSA issue #11614854, my car again displayed a bunch of various errors on the dashboard and threw P0300, P0301, and P0304 codes via OBDII. I dropped off the car at the dealership and they report that the issue this time is bad fuel injectors. This car has now had 2 major premature powertrain failures before reaching 70k miles that can result in loss of power while operating the vehicle. Losing power on the highway is a serious safety issue so I wanted to report this to the NHTSA for your records.

My 2018 Honda Accord 1.5 turbo (original owner) 77,000 miles. Started having numerous warning lights on dash and vehicle was violently shaken. On several occasions, vehicle had no acceleration over 10mph which caused me to have several close calls on the highway. Took it to Honda dealer and they stated that I had a blown head gasket and the repairs would cost five thousand eight hundred dollars! Unfortunately i have read numerous posts on Honda forums and hundreds of customers with the same vehicle year and model are also reporting the same problems. Honda will not pay for any repairs since it is past warranty. This needs to be upgraded to a recall by Honda, very upset customer!
The car is not starting properly, it takes a couple of tries to start, and the instrument panel lights come on. It appears that the Honda dealership in Doylestown PA does not have the part needed to repair my car and my safety is at risk and I don't feel comfortable driving the car. Can you please advise the dealership's responsibility in providing me a loaner car until the part is available? I have an appointment next week where I will leave the car until the part is available.

Blown head gasket confirmed by dealer.
Bought the vehicle in 2022 with 90k miles on it. Started experience engine issues shortly after. Engine light and ALL the dash lights came on. Changed spark plugs 4x and coils replaced fuel injectors over the years. Still the lights and engine light comes on. Turns out I have a blown head gasket at just 130k miles. Did routine maintenance on it and changed water pump . I’ve never had this many issues with a car and I’m quiete upset. The years of head ache is never ending.
Engine stalled out in the middle of the road immediately after acceleration following a sudden braking event. A car had pulled out in front of my vehicle at an intersection requiring a sudden brake. After the car had passed, a quick acceleration was needed as a car was quickly approaching from behind. It was at this point the engine stalled and the vehicle would not move forward. Pushing the gas pedal would not move the vehicle forward, and the engine was making a noise as the pedal was pushed. The vehicle had to be placed into park, turned off and back on, to get the engine to function and the vehicle to drive again. During this time (at least 1-2 minutes) the vehicle was stalled in the middle of an active highway, representing a significant safety risk. The vehicle was then sent to Honda for a diagnostic and there were no diagnostic codes given and the service center could not replicate the event. Was told this was not related to the active fuel pump recall on this vehicle so "there was nothing they could do" Had to pay out of pocket for the diagnostic. No resolution on this safety issue. More investigation is needed into these vehicles!!
I am the owner of a 2018 Honda accord purchased from Hillside Honda in Jamaica, NY on February of 2018. In 2021 started to experience issues with my vehicle while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked, loss motive power, switched to limp mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle failed to properly accelerate while in limp mode. After stopping the vehicle, the check engine warning light disappeared and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer baron Honda located in Patchogue, NY for a routine oil change, and, to be diagnosed. The dealer informed me that the failure was caused by damage to a fuel injector that would cost approx. $2500 to repair. The dealers diagnosis of the fuel injector issue was incorrect and the dealer later admitted that the fuel injector did not need to be changed. At the time of the dealers initial diagnosis i declined repair of the fuel injector and just received an oil change. My intention was to get a 2nd opinion from another Honda dealership as the vehicle was 3 years old. Due to covid it was difficult to bring my vehicle to another dealer immediately & i would be responsible for the cost of another diagnostic. The failure subsided for a short time but than a few months later the same issue recurred. I then became aware of a recall to the fuel pump to the same make & model vehicle which the manufacturer informed me that my vin # did not match a fuel pump recall. While still experiencing on & off issues with my car relating to limp mode since 2021 I filed 2 cases with American Honda in 2023 & was denied. In December 2023 American Honda finally told me that my vehicle had a known recall to its fuel pump but the parts are in back order. At this time my vehicle still has issues with the engine limp mode that may/may not be related to the recall. I request that Honda remedy the issue. I demand either a full repair of my vehicle engine to resolve the limp mode issue, OR a new vehicle
On February 16th, I visited Walsh Honda in Macon, Georgia, reporting issues with my fuel and car not pulling and acting irregularly. Suspecting bad fuel, I was informed of a safety recall for the fuel pump, which was likely the problem. However, they changed the spark plug instead, charged me for it, and did not address the recall, which has been in place since 2023. They also noted a P303 misfire. The following day, February 17th, I returned for a 100,000-mile check. I spent over $600 on services, including replacing the belt alternator, flushing and draining the coolant, and turning the rotors. On March 18, 2024, the same P303 misfire code appeared. This time Walsh Honda claimed the engine cylinder was cracked and scarred, suggesting a $7,000 engine replacement, despite the fuel pump recall. They insisted on the engine repair instead of addressing the fuel pump recall. In April, I was involved in a rear-end collision and, as a had my car at Five Star Collision in Warner Robins for two months. I got the car back on May 31st, but it continued to act erratically, running hot and not pulling properly. In July 2024, I took the car to Hughes Honda in Warner Robins, Georgia who refused to fix the fuel pump despite the recall, I was told that, that is not the code for a new engine pump. That I would need to pay $6000 for the codes that was put in initially by Walsh in Macon, Ga. citing the need for head gaskets and injectors. They demanded this repair before addressing the fuel pump recall. This pattern of ignoring the fuel pump recall and pushing expensive repairs is troubling and seems to prioritize profit over safety. This is how the common man and woman get screwed by doing the right thing. Being that I am 100% Disabled Veteran I am very disappointed with treatment I received from both Honda dealerships. I wish for not another veteran, man or woman go through the disrespect I received.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and was diagnosed with a misfire in cylinder #3. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket, fuel injectors, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The dealer refused to perform the recall repair due to several DTC codes retrieved while performing a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 146,734.

I have attempted numerous times to take my car to the dealership and charged for services fees as well only to be told the part is not available however they can get the part if needed. My engines lights and collision mitigation systems continue to light up and inoperative. This concerns me being that it’s been almost a year driving my car with this re call and nothing has been done for the where where it clearly states possible engine failure leading to accidents.
I was driving in the rain like I have done before with no issues but on 7/7/2024 I was driving home in the rain and my car just started steering on its own and I wasn’t able to control my car and it started turning my car to the point it hit a guard rail on the highway and turn my car near the other side of the highway in the grass. My airbags d
My vehicle head engine gasket blow while driving on the highway. I was on the far left side of the highway near brick side wall and had to find a way to get to the right shoulder of the highway while in coming car passed by. I’m just upset cause I kept telling Honda dealership something was wrong with my engine every time I went in for a oil change for the past 2 years and they ignored my concern and told me nothing was wrong. I just can’t believe Honda a trusted automotive company would have this type of issue without having a recall available for their customers. And I read into the issue and I’m not the only person with this issue. That’s not right at all. They need to do better
After a few weeks of owning my 2018 Honda accord-Sport driving along the road my car hesitated and acted as if it didn't want to continue driving. I had to pull over to the side of the road to turn the car completely off and back on for the car to regain energy (power) to drive. Every light on the dash is on from the check engine light, brake system, check emission system, road assistance, tire system and do not turn off. I had the fuel injectors cleaned because that was the code that came back for the issue and the car is storing the same code. It was a temporary fix because the lights have been on and off for a whole year now. I cannot get the issue fix because the parts have been on and off back order for the whole year I have owned this car. My car is running harder and hesitating a lot more and I do not get the same average milage on gas anymore. I normally fill up once a week and do the same amount of driving, but my gas is no longer lasting me the week it used to. The fuel injectors seem to be a common issue with these cars especially with the parts on back order for this long intensive time period. I am scared my car will not be drivable in the near future on the symptoms it is now displaying. My car is available at any time for an inspection. I'm very surprised this issue is not a recall on the hazard it is driving, and the car could hesitate or not proceed to go when in traffic which could lead to terrible safety hazards. Every light is on that could possibly be wrong on the dash. I have taken this vehicle to Honda dealerships and 3rd party mechanic shops.
Blown Head Gasket
Fuel Injectors had to be replaced, and the vehicle only 54,084 miles. Vehicles with the same engine, made by Honda, are being recalled. Furthermore, I have seen recalls for the 2018-2020 Honda Accord being recalled, but my VIN does not acknowledge this recall. I was at a stoplight, and turning right on when the car lost power and went into limp mode. Fortunately, there was no one coming (On a fairly busy street) when I made the turn. I pulled to the side, and turned the car off, and started it again. I was driving less than a mile to my next workplace when this incident happened. After my work shift was done I turned on the car and lit up like a Christmas tree (The mechanics words when he saw the dashboard). I held my breath to get the car to the dealership (Around 10 miles away). The following "lit up" on the car: 1. Electric Power Steering System Problem. Steering Assist Reduced. See your dealer. 2. Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem. See your dealer. 3. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. See your dealer. 4. Emission System Problem. Avoid Heavy Acceleration and high speed. See your dealer. 5. Tire Pressure Low 6. Brake System Problem. Brake Performance may be reduced. See your dealer. 7. Brake Hold System Problem. Apply Brake when stopped. See your dealer. 8. Vehicle Stability Assist System Problem. Reduced traction and handling. See your dealer. 9. Hill start assist problem. Vehicle may roll upon brake release. See your dealer. 10. Collision Mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer.
Head gasket and fuel injector. Causing stalling of the vehicle. Over heating. Have almost been hit with my kids in the car from stalling. Honda has confirmed this and the car has only 125k miles. This is COMMON in this car and should be recalled before someone is killed. In this economy who can afford 5500 dollars on a car that isn’t old to fix? I have driven all my past vehicles into 200k miles and never had these issues and have taken much better care of this car.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start up as needed, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.
Drove to work, about 35 miles. Few hours later went to leave to get a cup of coffee, started car and ALL lights came on dash and seems like every feature cycled through indicated nonfunctional. Drove to dealership, head gasket leak and piston misfiring, $4200. Car is a 2018 Honda Accord EX-L with 62000 miles. Seems strange to have such an extensive issue with a honda with such low miles. Can you investigate. Thanks
Vehicle continues to jerk, stall, and goes into lymph mode. Vehicle stall in flow of traffic which can cause a major accident. The problem has not been confirmed by dealer. The vehicle has not been inspected by dealer. Independent Mechanic states engine stalls under a load. Warning lights that appear are emission system problem, brake system failure, electric power steering problem, engine light, brake system. This began about a month ago only worsening. It occurs upon acceleration. Vehicle has been put in shop. Changed coil pack, spark plugs, injectors. Still that does not solve problem.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver was able to coast off the road and continued to drive slowly. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who tested the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Blown head gasket due to the new 1.5L engine Honda started making on the 2018 models.
The vehicle is stalling while driving to a point where on the freeway it slows down to 10 miles per hour to all of the sudden have all the emergency lights on that come to a sudden stop. I have called 3 different Honda dealers, they said that they need to check what is wrong with the car first making it clear that there is a fee of $220. My daughter has been driving the vehicle in very unsafe conditions. On Friday [XXX] we were on our way to Oakland from the Ventura County (I was the passenger) and in less than an hour driving the car started stalling to come to a sudden stop on the freeway. I took the vehicle to the Ocean Honda dealership the following week driving forcefully the car at 20-30 miles because we could not afford another trip on the towing truck. The service person drove the car from the parking lot to the front of the service office (less than 50 ft) and the lady said the car was in perfect condition and not one emergency light was on! I shared with them images of all the emergency lights were on in the vehicle and as well as at least 4 codes. We left the car and then they called me to notify that there was an issue with the injectors and that the vehicle was still under warranty for those parts because it is under 70,000 miles. The next day the vehicle was given back to me. I asked about the replacement of the gas pump, and they said because the vehicle is not having any issues it cannot be replaced. That night the car stopped on the freeway, I took it back and now they said it was the spark plugs. I decided to take the vehicle to a different dealership. Now at DCH Honda today the injectors were replaced and the car still stalling and stopping. They recommend replacing the spark plugs ($350 they will charge) and I told them I will take it to my mechanic. They said, "but you know the car is not fixed even if they replace them". I said you are telling me this safety issue is that so what is it? Nobody willing to change the GAS PUMP! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMA
Head Gasket Failure diagnosed by Honda city in New York. The purpose of the diagnostic was to address what I believed to be issues related to the ongoing Fuel Pump recall, as discussed with an American Honda representative prior to my visit. The symptoms I had been experiencing included intermittent stalling or loss of power, what prompted me to reach out immediately was an instance on a highway where the engine lost all power, prompting us to pull over to the side of the road, This could have been a much worse outcome. Additionally, I have noticed occasional trembling upon startup. Per the Service department the conclusion of the diagnostic was that the coolant was low due to washing the piston heads and cylinder walls and ultimately the head gasket needed to be replaced along with spark plugs. The total costs for these services amount to about $4,800. To provide further context, the coolant was last replaced on [XXX] 2024. The first issues began to arise in mid-February when the digital gauge displayed at least 8 warnings across various systems. [XXX], 2024 the car was brought in for more maintenance and further investigation into the warnings. Nothing came about here as the issue couldn't be reproduced and no action was taken. I feel as though there was nothing more I could have done to prevent this situation. The car has a pristine maintenance record and has just over 42,000 miles after a little over 5 years of ownership , an average of 15-20 miles a day. After researching on my own, Ive found this to be much more common issue for the 2018 1.5 accords along with other models. The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle began to stall and lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted; however, the failure persisted and the vehicle experienced power steering failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 23V858000 (Fuel System Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle slowed down. Several unknown warning lights were flashing on and off. The contact was able to pull over. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs, ignition coils, and other unknown parts had caused the failure and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

All warning systems triggered, repeatedly, over the past year. Honda dealership misdiagnosed as a fuel injector. Had fuel injector replaced, but same issue occurred and this time all warnings came on and vehicle lost power on highway with my baby daughter inside. So, after spending thousands attempting to resolve the issue, I towed again to Honda and it was correctly diagnosed as a failed head gasket requiring $5.5K to repair. Service advisor said he's seen "many of these" recently. Called around Tampa and all mechanics advise (consistent with numerous complaints online car communities) failed head gasket is a known and common safety issue (to the extent that parts are on backorder as a result of repairs). Called American Honda Corporation and they led me to believe they would repair, but after an hour of wasting my time, and repeated requests to hold so agent could speak with supervisor, agent then said repeatedly "there is nothing we can do for you." This abject safety failure and demonstrated bad faith should not be allowed by regulators who have a duty to mandate that auto manufacturers do the right thing and issue safety recalls for known issues such as the head gasket failure I have experienced.
I’ve owned this car for almost 6 years now and one day out of nowhere all warning lights on this car came on and the car can barely drive up to 10 MPH. The car won’t go past 10 MPH. Engine light, cruise control and every single warning light were showing on the dashboard. I ended up paying huge amount to get it fix and on top of that I was not able to go to work.
Engine stall while driving, and blown engine gasket.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the failure occurred. The contact stated that there was a delay while attempting to start the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond, shuddered, and decelerated independently. Additionally, the vehicle intermittently lunged forward while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light, Forward Collision Avoidance, braking system, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under an unknown extended warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

I purchased the vehicle 1/21. I only took my car to Midland Honda to do all repairs. The last repair I paid them for was a tuneup June 2023. I paid them $1082.90 for the service. October 2023 my car started to do the same thing it did back in June for the tune up. So this time I took the car to AutoZone because the check engine light came on. It showed that it was a misfire. They said the car should not be doing that and that I needed to return it back to the dealership which idea they did a check on the car I was being told it was a fuel pump issue. I asked them if there would’ve been any notification prior because based on all of the oil changes and anything maintenance that I had them to do they never inform me of anything of a repair that would’ve required that , I did some research and so that’s some family members male family members, and they inform me that there was a recall for the fuel system None of my documentation from Honda said anything about any other major issue and that I would not be having any problems they also inform me that the price for the fuel filter would be $1700 to have it replaced. I then took the car for another appointment at another Honda dealership in my area, they perform the same check. They’re all ASE certified mechanics assuming they all use the same diagnostic device. The other dealership never said anything to me about the fuel system. They only inform me of the antilock brake system, which was puzzling to me because Advance had already told me, it was a misfire for the spark plugs we looked at the spark plugs, the spark plugs from what they said does not look like what a spark plug should look like that has been putting in a calm that was just replaced in June , I contacted the Honda Dealership manufacturing company back in December and was told then that there was a recall for the fuel system. I’m not sure what the issue is because last not last month March I took the car to another Honda and was told it was a blown Head gas
To whom it may concern, I understand there is an investigation on leaking timing chain/pully cover. My vehicle has this issue. Is it covered by a recall? Please advise.
My 2018 Honda Accord began malfunctioning on [XXX]. It completely stalled out and all of the warning lights came on. The vehicle was being driven and began to shudder upon acceleration at just 15 mph. The vehicle ended up seizing and lost all acceleration capabilities. The vehicle was able to be pulled over at idle speed and had trouble starting. once I got the car to start, I was able to drive the vehicle into a safe parking lot but only at idle speed as the acceleration was not functioning. I had received the fuel pump recall and had the car towed to Brandon Honda in Brandon FL, and they determined it was not a fuel pump failure but a blown head gasket. I also received a second opinion that confirmed this diagnosis and determined the issue to be the blown head gasket causing coolant to mix with my oil and leak into spark plugs causing spark plug 3 to fail as well. Upon replacement of the spark plug, the car functions once again with acceleration capabilities, however, to prevent any further damage, I had the car towed back to my place of residence. Upon further investigation, I am finding more people experiencing this issue with their new Honda Accords as well. The head gasket should not fail this early on in owning this vehicle especially being the only owner of this vehicle and only 130k miles. I have always kept up with coolant levels, and oil changes, and used the recommended octane by Honda, 87. Repair still has not been made as I am exploring all of my options, however, if this malfunction had happened on the interstate, it could have been fatal. This has caused my car to stall while driving. It's causing sputtering and other issues. All lights come on the dash at times also. I've been told by the dealer the parts are ordered for this recall, and now I'm finding that there are NO PARTS for this recall. I have a three year old son and cannot afford to have it stall with him.
The car has 73,820 miles on it. Flashing check engine light came on, stalling, unable to drive the car over 10 MPH, lucky I was around my house. If this would have happened on the freeway, I would probably get into a bad accident. Towed it to local Honda Dealership, came back as fuel injector problem (one of the cylinder was misfiring). After reading online posts of other owners & no coolant in the reservoir, I asked them to check the head gasket because a lot of complains about this problem. The dealer ship replaced the head gasket but not the fuel injectors after I asked them to double check the fuel injectors, but they insisted that only the head gasket was the only problem. After a week and a half, I went and tried to pick up my car. Before I was able to drive it off the lot, check engine light came back as one of the cylinders was misfiring again. To this day, I am still without my car. Now thinking about whole situation, we experienced some engine shaking when the engine first started. But it ran fine after a little bit, so we did not think anything of it. Good Will program of Honda will pick up the repair cost, my portion is $900.00 as deductible.
I work at a dealership. we have sold 2 2018 Honda accords where all the lights have popped on the dash multiple times. the first one went to the Honda dealer for a diagnostic and came back with fuel injector issues. after replaced, it went back and was told there was a blown head gasket and turbo. the second accord went to a different Honda dealer for a diag and once again was told it was a blown head gasket and turbo. after researching this issue I've found it is a common issue which starts with a misfire, all lights on the dash, and fuel injectors. no one has had any blown head gasket signs as the car overheating or coolant mixed with oil. we have received a third 2018 accord which arrived with a misfire. we have changed spark plugs 4 times as well as the coils. when starting the car it shakes aggressively as if it wants to stall and all the lights keep popping on the dash - the same signs as the previous vehicles. taking it to the dealer for a diagnosis and either it comes back with injectors - which will eventually lead to the head gasket, or straight into the head gasket being blown. there needs to be a recall at least so we are not wasting time and money with all these diagnostics and repairs.
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the ongoing electrical issues plaguing my 2018 Honda Accord, VIN: [XXX] ]. Since the initial purchase of the vehicle, I have experienced recurring problems with dashboard lights illuminating unexpectedly, indicating underlying electrical malfunctions. In an attempt to rectify these issues, I have diligently brought the vehicle to authorized Honda service centers on multiple occasions. Despite their efforts, including the replacement of the electrical wiring harness in 2023, the problem persists unabated. Despite extensive diagnostics and repair attempts, the root cause of the issue remains unresolved, leading to significant inconvenience and frustration. Moreover, during one service visit, Honda service personnel erroneously diagnosed a faulty gas pump, resulting in an unnecessary replacement at my expense totaling $1375.00. It is pertinent to note that Honda was already aware of a recall affecting my vehicle, yet failed to rectify the issue under the recall and instead charged me for the repair. Subsequent attempts to seek full reimbursement for this unjust expense were rebuffed by Honda corporate, citing the partial financing of the repairs as a justification for their refusal. To compound matters, on Saturday, [XXX], I once again encountered a recurrence of the dashboard lights issue, signaling a persistent and unresolved defect within the vehicle's electrical system. This ongoing issue has severely compromised the safety, reliability, and enjoyment of my vehicle ownership experience. I am at a loss for further recourse and demand immediate action to address and rectify these persistent electrical issues with my 2018 Honda Accord. I expect Honda to honor its commitment to customer satisfaction and take decisive steps to remedy this situation promptly and comprehensively. The check engine, ABS, and seat belt failure lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 174,000. Parts distribution disconnect. Honda stated the vehicle is in working condition and there is no problem with it. and will not fix the recall.

All lights were on : Brake System, Emmision Control, Engine, See Dealer. Would not accelerate correctly. Sometimes would not start. Replaced spark plugs in January and also New Battery problem went away until 3/20/24. Got worse. Put oil and coolant in. Started up and lights went off but engine light came off and on. Towed to Elk Grove Honda. They said they wanted to test for coolant leaks in engine. So replaced spark plugs and did test. Leaked so they said I needed a Replaced Head gasket. This car only has 81,113 miles on it. I have researched that alot of 2018-2021 Honda Accords 1.5L are having the same issue.

In addition, the steering, the brakes, and the navigation features were all inoperable. The contact stated that a warning light illuminated with instructions to take the vehicle to the dealer for service immediately. Additionally, when the emissions warning light was illuminated, the oil became dirty quicker, and the fuel usage increased. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer several times and was reset. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

With only 99,000 miles on my 2018 1.5L 4 cyl Accord, the electrical part of the fuel injectors is beginning to fail. This has caused misfires in multiple cylinders. My safety was put at risk because when the misfires occur the engine has stumbled and all warning icons light up and the warning messages for all systems come on. When this happens the adaptive cruise control (ACC) stops working and the low tire pressure icon is always lit even though the tires have not lost pressure. ACC is a safety system and I will have no warning if a tire develops a leak. This could cause an accident at highway speeds. Moreover, the stumbling could result in an unexpected rapid slowdown at highway speeds. I have taken the car to an independent shop that reproduced the condition and believes the fuel injectors are failing. I called the local Honda service that confirms the injectors are failing. There were no indications of the condition prior to the warning lights coming on. From an internet search failing injectors below 100,000 miles appear to be a common problem with 2017-18 Honda 1.5L engines as I found numerous references to 2017-18 Honda 1.5L injector failure on Honda owner boards.
The car goes into limp mode and will not go past 20 miles per hour. I recently took my Honda Accord Sport 1.5 to get checked out because all the lights came on the dashboard and it was rough shaking starting the car that eventually subsides, idles fine, and drives fine. When on the highway, trying to accelerate to high speeds, the car will start having a rough start to accelerate. I took it to two dealerships, and they said there's nothing they can do because the codes are not showing what the exact issue is and suggested that I change my spark plugs and fuel injectors (which was already done at around 60,000 miles). Utter disappointment in this vehicle.
Blown head gasket.Car is hesitating/ jerking. Dealership wants 7k to get it fixed.

Head Gasket Failure
I have a 2018 Honda Accord 1.5t Sport. It has 113,000 miles on it. And I took it in for a diagnosis due to an inspection made by Walmart and I was told by the Honda dealership I have a blown head gasket. After much research and discovery, I found out this is a common and typical issue with this model car and that Honda corporation knows about it but refuses to issue a recall. I never experienced any warnings, car never ran hot or overheated. There was never any indication that the head gasket was an issue. Now that they have determined this, they are telling me because it is out of warranty it will not be covered and I am responsible for the $3000 charge to fix the head gasket. This is very upsetting being that Honda is very aware of the situation and seem to care less about the safety of their vehicle owners and the terrible situation that this puts their customers in.
Cylinder head gasket and cylinders misfire; also loosing coolant.
I purchased my vehicle from Lithia, Inc. d/b/a Wilde Honda in Waukesha, Wisconsin new. Wilde Honda serviced the vehicle on [XXX], after I reported that all lights in the vehicle were coming on. In addition, I experienced an incident on the highway where my car failed to accelerate, putting me in extreme danger. On [XXX], after my vehicle was returned to me, I experienced substantially similar issues immediately, with the same problems accelerating, all of the dash lights coming on, and a rumbling and jittering sound when the vehicle was first started. Wild Honda charged me $4,956.36 for repairs, which did not resolve any issues. I wrote to Alex Reed of Wilde Honda regarding these issues. Mr. Reed assured me that the underlying problem was resolved by replacing a fuel injector, and I was charged an additional $350.00. On [XXX], I again experienced the same dangerous issue where all the lights came on. Once again, I found myself on the highway, unable to accelerate and faced with a dangerous situation. I have made repeated demands to Lithia to reimburse me for the repairs charged to me, as well as for the fair market value of my vehicle as it can no longer be operated safely. Lithia d/b/a Wilde Honda has made no efforts to resolve this situation and disclaims all responsibility. After researching this issue, I discovered that In October 2018, American Honda notified dealerships that vehicles equipped with a 1 1.5L turbo direct-injection engine “may experience engine oil dilution” and that this “may result in increased oil level and can cause a [cylinder] misfire” and cause a variety of symptoms including a check light indicator due to an engine misfire, a low oil pressure light, and abnormal engine noises. In fact, American Honda reached out and requested that dealerships contact them if the dealerships came across similar issues that plagued my vehicle as American Honda was trying to determine the underlying issue. The vehicle started idling rough and would seem like it was going to stall out. Eventually every light came on in the dash board and when I brought it to the shop, the head gasket had blown. This is a 2018 Honda accord with 99k miles. Regular maintenance has always been maintained. Upon doing research, a lot of people with this make/ model and low mileage have had this same issue. This appears to be a mechanical issue caused by the manufacturer.
This 1.5T has had alot of complaints about head gaskets going out. 50K miles i had it headgaskey went bad
Hello, I’m submitting this complaint regarding the Head Gasket issue being Blown out on my Vehicle, it only had (136,656) miles and has a good service and maintenance history which should have prevented the Head Gasket from blowing out, however I was informed by the Honda Service Advisor that this is an ongoing issue and that they are seeing much more of these vehicles coming in with a blown Head Gasket, unfortunately I had no other choice but to purchase a used engine and make the immediate repairs because Honda’s Head Gasket’s are in a serious Back order due to the aforementioned issue effecting many other Honda owners.
The car was driving raggedly it started loading power we was thinking it was the plugs the coils even bad gas we changed plugs the coils it continued to misfired after dat so when use some cleanser for the fuel pump the actual pump was too expensive few days after the it won’t crank it’s been sitting for months now please help me I’m not sure what’s wrong but it was doing exactly what it says the fuel pump module would do.
I had gotten my fuel injector replaced back in 12/07/2020 and I saw where now the fuel pump recall was recently put out, but I sold my car back in 08/2023 but I paid for my fuel injector to be replaced, will I be eligible for a reimbursement?
101,848 miles on odometer. Blown head gasket. Numerous other 2018-2020 Honda Accords have same issue. Leaking damaged gasket causes car to lose power leading to potential safety issue.

Car would shake in the morning would wait till warmed. Immediately brought to Honda where I had a diagnostic completed approx. 9/3. Reports says head gasket. Car well taking care (maintenance) no reason for blown head gasket. Got a second opinion They had the car for a week. No warning lights, and did another diagnostic and nothing showed at the time. Brought the car home. After a few months waiting for warning sign or other signs it took a couple of few months for the engine light to come on and it slowed down and came to a stop. Had car towed to Honda. Called Honda corporate. After finding out they weren't going to cover the cost of $5000+ knowing this has absolutely nothing to do with the customer being negligent with car. I can not afford that kind of money and had it towed to the same mechanic where we are still waiting for the parts to come in from Honda factory and it's been in his possession for 2 weeks. I had to get a rental which Honda would not cover. There is no way that a car that is 5years old under 80,000 miles should have engine work unless it was not cared for properly. I have proof of continuous maintenance. I should not be held reliable for malfunction parts on the car and other Hondas are having the same issues. It was very dangerous and scary having the car shake when driving and not being abled to accelerate on the gas with no warning of any. I had it towed 2x to 3x waiting and praying that Honda will be responsible.
I have 2018 Honda accord which has been recall About 3 weeks my car my car start skipping, when I was driving it so the 12/18/23 all the lights came on and the car started jerking around so I took it to the dealer and they told me found crack in spark plug They replaced the spark plugs adjusted the valve The car started jerking again on 12/25 /23 I took it to the dealer they told me the head is cracked and the spark plug is cracked different cylinder The brake and ACC radar light is still on and needs to be replace I send you all the invoices and work needs to be done to the Honda Corporation! But they are refusing to do their job and help me This happens to my car because of the The fuel pump issue with this year model I hold you the Honda Corporation responsible what happened to my car ! It is on theme to fix and reimburse me for the money that I I already spent and I need my car to be repairs as soon as possible and I need replacement car for me until my car is fixed! But the Honda Corporation is saying they’re not able to help me They are trying to play the game with me Tell me that car has this problem because it has 113000 miles on it But my issue with Honda is that manufacture issues with fuel pump That why my car has this problem Thank you [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Fuel pump or injector has malfunctioned. It is has already been inspected by a Honda dealer. Safety at risk because there was a recall on the fuel system of Hondas in 2020. I purchased this vehicle in 2021 and was not made aware. The vehicle could stall and cause an accident. No other problem currently reported on the vehicle. I was just sitting in a parking space when the engine light came on.
The vehicle has been giving a check engine light and a litany of other warning lights including: electric power steering system problem, brake system problem, forward collision mitigation braking system problem, tire pressure monitoring system problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, traction control system problem. This issue happened intermittently at first including the warning lights, then constantly beginning about 3 weeks ago. The check engine light produced a P0304 code indicating a misfire on cylinder 4. The vehicle on cold start would idle rough indicating the misfire and idle at a higher RPM than normal. The vehicle would return to idling normally after approximately 15 minutes of warming up however all the lights would stay on. The vehicle felt like it was down on power, was running rough, and could go into limp mode at any time while the issue was present and significantly reduced the driveability and all of these other warning lights were on indicating potential problems with those systems. I had the vehicle inspected by a Honda dealership and two different master technicians have diagnosed it as a fuel injector issue, although they thought it could have been a head gasket issue as well and in fact have not ruled that out entirely at this point. This is a known issue with this vehicle shown by AHM putting out a request for parts from 2018-2019 1.5 Liter engine Accords affected by a P030X (Cylinder 1,2,3, or 4 misfire) code back in April.
Began getting several alerts, when taken in to get a diagnosis I received the following error codes P0301, P0304, P0301, P0300, U0401-68 & U3003-16. These codes stated that I had Cylinder 1 Misfire, Cylinder 4 Misfire as well as Random Misfire and ECM Failure and Electric Parking Brake Control Unit Power Source Circuit Low Voltage. The misfires were taken care of with new ignition coils and spark plugs; however, 2 days later alerts came back on at that point replaced battery. A few days after that the alerts again came back on. The dealership has not helped me out much simply saying I am no longer under warranty. However, I feel this vehicle is unsafe to drive as sometimes it feels as if it is just going to shut off. Therefore, this can possibly cause an accident injuring either. Others or myself.
All warning lights came on and I took the car to get checked out. Head gasket is damaged. Honda dealership has performed all service on vehicle. Gasket shows signs of premature deterioration. Very expensive repair for a know problem. This should be a recall item as there are numerous complaints with this model.
I was driving on the freeway in Houston, TX going 65 mph in the middle lane and my engine begin to lose power, and start stalling. Almost causing me to wreck with my 8 yr old son in the back seat. I was advised by my the dealership that Honda has a recall on fuel pumpt with my year and model. I contacted Honda and was advised my car is the year and model of the fuel pump recall, but it wasn’t effective by it. I feel that’s very strange my car didn’t apply to the recall, but it’s doing the same thing other owners car doing with the faulty fuel pump recall. I am terrified by the incident and it has cause me so much anxiety and stress. I look to get my car repaired due to the recall and Honda isn’t being helpful after myself and child almost had a wreck

The contact was able to veer to the side of the roadway. The contact restarted the vehicle and drove to the residence. Additionally, the contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle was running rough and was shuddering, and the RPM failed to exceed 2,000 RPM while driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the fuel injectors were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump had malfunctioned. The contact was referred to the dealer for recall repair of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V314000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 75,900.

while driving in highway, all dash light slit up like a Christmas Tree and vehicle lost power. I was not able to go over 30 mph and was in danger of being rear ended on freeway. I was able to pull over to safety and turn vehicle off. Upon restarting the vehicle, I was able to make it back home. This has happened on 3-4 diff occasions. Honda is not accepting responsibility. They continuously refer me to Honda dealer to be ripped off for a diagnostic. There are several forums online complaining about the same issue. My battery and alternator is good. Please help and hold Honda accountable to their negligence in the build of these vehicles.
I have been dealing with the check engine light codes p0172c & p219c. Honda inspected my vehicle and said the problem is that my car is running too rich and the fuel injectors are bad but they say i cant really do anything because the fuel injectors are on backorder but really they are discontinued and they are unsure when theyll comeback. Im concerned for my safety and for others on the road because the p219c code is commonly associated with a leaky head gasket, and after speaking to several third party mechanics theyve all said they have been getting others with the same problem and the fuel injector isnt the actual problem, its the head gasket. which means unfortunately my head gasket could blow any moment im driving my car which i NEED to do because i NEED to work. I travel at least 40 miles a day in houston traffic and im very worried about the potential damages i can cause should my head gasket blow while im driving in rush hour on the highway. I had no other kind of warning for this besides the check engine light and its been on for the past 4 weeks.
When I am driving, the car turns off in the middle of the road and this warning message appears: Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem See Your Dealer. I took it to the dealer. They changed the battery, but the problem still occurs. This is dangerous because the car cut off in the middle of the road where you can get rear ended.
Out of the blue car was having a glitch on the screen when turning on the vechical. The battery died and was replaced. Once battery was replaced engine light and brake like will turn on and off. After battery was replaced the engine light turned on and started to read that ignition and sparks plugs are bad. I have spoke to about 50 people with the same car and they are having the same issues and the mechanics do not know what is wrong
My car is 5 years old with 72,000 miles and it now need a new head gasket. Mechanic said Honda is aware of this issue on this model car but my warranty is expired and this is costly fix for something the company is well aware of.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, there was white colored smoke coming from the passenger’s side of the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was provided a loaner vehicle. A diagnostic test was performed, and the contact was informed that the head gasket was blown. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

To whom it might concern, I have a Honda accord 2018 sport trim. The AC stopped working. This is part of the engine and should be a recall since it’s stopping to work for all Honda accords 2018 and new newer models.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle started driving abnormally. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the head gasket and the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

Blown head gasket diagnosed at 112k ‘miles on 2018 Honda Accord many in doing research general repair on this specific accord 1.5t happens around 100-113k miles when a head gasket should last the life time off a vehicle roughly 200k I have a 1997 accord with 300k and still no head gasket issues I got this Honda due to the fact it should last a while
There has been a series of constant issues with this model and each issue has been brought to a certified Honda dealership and was supposedly "fixed" engine code P0300 (random/multiple cylinder misfire),P2651 B rocker arm Actuator system, P0087 Fuel Rail/system pressure, P0304,P0303 cylinder 3 and 4 misfire, engine temperature always above normal. These issues on multiple situations has put my safety and the safety of others at the highest risk. The motor vehicle due to these issues randomly would lose power to the point where stepping on the gas doesn't not accelerate the car, forcing me to stop in the middle of the highway having other vehicles stop suddenly and swerve around me with children in the vehicle. Another occasion going up a hill the car beings to stutter losing power resulting to the car shutting off, forcing me engage These reoccurring issues have also randomly caused the vehicle to not start. Multiple warning signs are lit across the dashboard. These occurrence are random with no warning sign The vehicle has been brought to the same dealership numerous times claiming each issue was fixed but within a few weeks more issues came. The last visit i was told as a "solution" i need to buy a new engine out of pocket, unacceptable for a Honda engine with 64000 miles on it. This oil dilution issue need a proper answer before someone is serious injured.
I have taken my Honda because of engine misfiring. They said there is coolant seeping in the pistons and we red a new engine gasket and the cost is $4,000. All the warning lights are turning on and alerting the driver but when I took it in and paid $380 they can’t figure out why these are turning on. The fuel injectors and belt are another item that has been alerted to being an issue. These are problems my 20 year old car has not encountered and this is a 2018. The airbags warning has been an issue at least once every few months.
I've filed the specific issues in other complaints, but also wanted to input this for a record. After taking the card to the dealer, the dealer DID NOT address any of the following: Right door speaker rattle Engine squeak (when shutting off) Hood vibration Did not troubleshoot the smell coming from the ventilation system. Did not apply the fix (if there was one) for the infotainment unit restarting abruptly. Did not look at as to why the display shows 100mph speed limit when there is no such thing in the the state of Colorado (that I know of and certainly not where I was driving when this happened). Did not look at why the aux display has issues Did not look at Bluetooth connectivity issues. Did not look at problems with radar and the CMBS system. Of course, the usual response is "we drove it for an hour (if that) and did not see anything."
When the engine is shut down, there is a squeak (have not been able to pinpoint the source). However, prior history on the vehicle considered, wanted to make a record. The vehicle has always had a burning smell to it and, at one point, a dealer's mechanic did replace the head gasket, claiming that was the source of the burning smell. However, the burning smell still persists and I've been wondering if something more serious is going on (as one mechanic did say, there is a possibility of the turbo burning oil due to some defect). Hence, the squeak is suspicious due to that.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. Additionally, the vehicle consumed an excessive amount of coolant, causing the vehicle to overheat. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The safety features were inadvertently disabled. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the fuel injectors were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

The contact’s wife owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while he or his wife was driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that he was able to maneuver the vehicle off the road however, he had to wait several minutes to restart the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated followed by several unknown warning lights being intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several unknown dealers however, the cause of the failure could not be determined or duplicated. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V314000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

I have a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0t 6MT. The car is up to date on recalls (BCM and backup camera update were completed). The car had been sitting in the garage for the last day and a half. I took a 7 mile round trip in light rain to Lowe’s. On the way back, I was on a service road going about 50mph, downshifted into 3rd gear and hit the gas. The tires slipped a little and the car went into limp mode. The car immediately started decelerating and the check engine light started flashing. The throttle barely accepted any input. I drove it home slowly in limp mode. I had to let several cars pass me. At home I turned the car off and back on and the car was perfectly normal. Limp mode was gone. Nobody's safety was severely at risk during this incident but if this happens on the highway it could be deadly. There are many people on Accord forums that seem to have experienced the same issue. I could not find a Honda TSB for the 6MT Accord. The car is available for inspection upon request.
Engine misfire causing limp mode. Dealer says head gasket blown. When misfire happens, all driver safety system warnings display. Car goes into limp mode which is dangerous if on high speed road. First appeared Oct-10-2022 with 59k miles on vehicle. Second appeared Nov-29-2022 with 60,300 miles on vehicle. Honda refuses to cover expense of replaceing head gasket and determining root cause.
Cylinder 2 misfire with check check engine light on and limp mode activated. Dealer diagnosis revealed a blown head gasket at 95,000 miles with coolant leaking into cylinder # 2 & 3. Vehicle always serviced on time and at purchasing dealer with no mods to vehicle.
One day all the car warning lights came on. After I backed out of the driveway, I placed the car in drive and tried to accelerate. When I stepped on the gas pedal the car barely accelerated. It barely moved. I turned of the engine and turned it back on again and the car was ok again, but this keeps happening from time to time. I've had the car checked a few times, but mechanics weren't sure what's wrong with the car. They keep getting a misfire code on number one, but after checking the spark plugs they said nothing is wrong with the spark plugs.
I purchase my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5l Touring as a second owner from a Honda dealership when it had one previous owner and only 14,000 miles on it. Since the day I drove away the vehicle would shake slightly for a few seconds upon a cold start up. I really didn't think much of it at first because I have never had a Honda and it quickly would stop. Fast Forward about 14 days Lateran I was getting on the highway and when I went to move from the on ramp into a lane the car suddenly went into limp mode and every light on the dashboard came on. I was almost killed by a semi truck no joke. I then had it towed to the dealership and they called me literally one hour after they opened and said it was just because my tail light was getting water (this made zero sense to me but I said ok). Turns out that they magically figured out what the issue was (because it would happen once every couple months) right after warranty was up. They claim it is the fuel injectors and they need to be replaced at the cost of $1,600. This is insane and clearly a major issue they are ignoring.
You lose power while driving than it stalls to about 20 mph Emmission warning lights come on. After cool down the car will drive normal speed again for a short time before it repeats itself driving 20 mph with emission warning light coming on. It is a very hazardous condition and dealerships can’t figure anything out. We have spent 1600.00 on fuel ejectors And car still doing the same thing. Next morning my husband drive it to work and was put in a hazardous condition.
2018 Accord Sport 1.5T - got a tune-up at around 98,000 miles. 1 month later, car went into 'limp' mode while trying to accelerate. Check engine code indicated misfire on cylinder 3. Had to have it towed - dealer found it also misfiring on cylinder 4 and determined it was a defective spark plug since they had just replaced all of them. 1 month later, did the same thing. Took it to a different dealer and they put a camera into each cylinder and found that cylinder 3 and to a lesser extent cylinder 4 were dirty. They are saying that head gasket is leaking coolant into the cylinders and recommending cylinder head replacement. This poses a safety issue as it is dangerous if the car won't accelerate when you expect that it should. Standard internet search indicates that this seems to be a fairly common issue with this particular engine (1.5T).
I have a 2018 Honda Accord 2.0. Twice it left me stranded on the side of the road due to a failing fuel pump. the first time it kicked back on after an hour and all the lights turned off so they said a diagnostic cannot be performed. The second time I was driving in the middle of the road and the engine cut off and would not start, luckily I had some space to pull over but I was still in traffic and I called a tow truck. It took 6 1/2 hours to finally get it to the Honda dealership and they told me my fuel pump had failed and there is a recall for 2018 2.0s but not my specific Vin so I have to cover the cost. It’s $1055 plus taxes even though there’s an active recall for other 2018 2.0‘s but not my exact vehicle. The part is on back order and can take up to a month they are providing no service car and no help on the recall.
at approximately 30,000 the air conditioning began blowing warm air.
Engine light started blinking and engine started missing and lost power while on highway
The A/C system in the car blows hot air and since I have purchased the car in 2018 I had to replace the condensor three times. When the A/C is not working the car get very hot in the auto cabin. The car is almost undrivable.
On 6/6/22 the car had multiple Alarms came on the dashboard (break sys prob, emission prob, road dept mit, collision mit, break sys prot, aac sys prob, hill start asst prob, break performance prob). I called Honda Valley Stream informing them of the above. Got appt 6/8 I was told I would need to leave the car on 6/8 appt. On 6/8 approx 4pm rec a call from them to come get the car. Alarms only needed to be reset and rear camera recall was done. Next day all the alarms plus a few other returned. I went back and forth with Manger. I left the car Sat 6/11.Told it was injection fluid that's covered under warranty. Then later the manager called that it was CO2 built up and $413 to clean and take care of the problem. I paid for it and picked up the car. 6/15 during the day I noticed a problem with the steering and that car kept moving into the other lane , this got worst if I had to use the break. Later that night an alarm for Supplemental Restraint System. Ive notified Honda of Valley Stream of this new issue. Awaiting a resolution.
The air conditioning stopped blowing cool air. It will only blow warm/hot air despite being on the lowest setting.
My fuel or engine is having issues. I took it in and they told me my fuel pump needed to be replaced and my injectors were bad. This is an active recall on some this car but not my VIN number... My car has stalled out many times while driving forcing me to pull over and restart my car. I think my VIN needs to be recalled also since this is clearly the same issue.
Driving in moderate to heavy rain in Ozarks. Car in front. Accelerated hard (under turbo boost) and pulled in left lane to pass. As soon as I got next to car in right lane, my car automatically braked very hard. It then released brake. All kinds of warning lights went off, engine outline (misfire) light was on. Car was in some kind of limp mode. Slowed considerably. Could barely accelerate. Proceeded to drive in this mode at approximately 50 mph for one mile until spot to pull over. Pulled over and shut car off for 30 second. Restarted car and everything was normal. Returned home within one week (400 miles) Checked trouble codes, none present.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The Collision Mitigation Braking System, check engine, Lane Departure, brake warning lights and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts and continued to drive. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the spark plugs were replaced; however, the warnings illuminated while driving hours later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the injectors had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under an unknown extended warranty as the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.

Our AC system stops blow cold air. After doing some research, a lot of Honda owners have AC problems. Most likely the cause could possible be AC compressor, or condenser which can cost 2000 or more to replace. Our car is most latest model 2018 Honda Accord and AC has stopped working. This should have been a call so we don't have to pay dealers to fix AC issue. Please contact Honda corporation and help us resolving this AC as warm and hot days are approach in California. It is terrible that this AC can happen to new cars.
Vehicle suddenly stopped turning over, replaced battery incase it wasn’t enough. Vehicle had a little under a quarter tank of gas so added another gallon or two and that brought it up to 1/2 a tank. Vehicle turned on once rough then smoothed out and then shut off in the road 10 minutes later. There are recalls for this exact problem with other Honda Accords my year but my vin did not qualify in the listing.Car belongs to grandmother Diana evans my name is Quinten and I am currently using my friends phone because mine is broken and she has been helping me with the vehicle.
When accelerating my vehicle it does not pick up speed as it should and there is a humming noise when doing so.
On 3 separate occasions my Honda Accord 1.5T has lost power while driving in traffic. All of the warning lights came on, and I could not go over 10 mph. Fortunately i was able to turn onto a side street each time. I turned off the the engine and after a few minutes restarted...only once was I able to regain power and drive home with normal power. My car went to the dealership each time, and they have told me they cannot duplicate the issue. And now the dealership has had my vehicle for almost 2 months. The service agent said he has never seen anything like it, and when I mentioned specific articles about the turbocharged 1.5 engine online, he discounted them saying, "anyone can write stuff on the internet". Honda dealership and Honda Corporate has no solutions, other than just live with it. A car slowing down in heavy traffic or on the expressway is a major accident waiting to happen, and Honda doesn't seem to care.
I was on a very busy interstate highway during a rainstorm going between 60 and 70 MPH. I was in the left lane when the check engine light came on and it went into limp home mode and my speed was immediately reduced in heavy traffic. I was lucky enough to move to the slow lane and then to the break down lane and get to an exit. I pulled in at an area I could shut the car off. I let it sit for about 15 minutes and started the car and the check engine light was off and everything has been normal since then. This was extremely dangerous . The speed dropped below 40 very suddenly and then 30 and then 20 on an interstate. The next day I went to the local Honda dealer and described what had happened and they said they had seen this happen before and talked about the radar and the collision mitigation system possibly being the problem. They said they never saw any codes set in the other vehicles so since mine was off I did not have it checked. I have recently had it checked at my local Honda dealer for transmission issues and they could not find anything either concerning the check engine light , but it has been a couple of months since the incident.
A/C STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR INTERMITTENTLY AT ABOUT 45K. BUT NOTICED A/C WASN'T AS COLD. WHEN SHOWED TO DEALER, ADVISOR RAN A/C AND SAID ITS OK. AT 60K MILES , NO A/C, JUST WARM AIR. TOOK IT TO A/C STORE , THEY FOUND LEAK AND TOLD US MOST OF THE NEW HONDAS WITH THE NEW A/C SYSTEMS ARE HAVING LEAKS BECAUSE OF THE NEW FREON CAUSING ISSUES. HONDA REFUSES TO FIX IT UNDER RECALL.

IT SEEMS THAT MY REMOTE STARTER IS CAUSING ERRORS. OCCASIONALLY WHEN I USE IT DURING COLD WEATHER. I TRY TO START REMOTELY AND IT STARTS FOR A SECOND AND THEN CUTS OFF. I GET IN AND NOTICE SEVERAL MAINTENANCE ALARMS TELLING ME TO SEE A DEALER WHEN I START THE NORMAL WAY. ALL SAFETY FEATURES SEEM TO BE DISABLED BUT STILL DRIVEABLE.THE ONLY WAY TO ERASE THESE CODES IS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. THEN I CAN GO SEVERAL TIMES WITH OUT IT HAPPENING AGAIN. I TOOK TO DEALERS AND THEY FOUND NO ISSUES, I TOLD THEM TO JUST REPLACE THE BATTERY, EVEN THOUGH THAT WASNT RECOMMENDED. I THOUGHT IT HELPED, BUT THEN THE ISSUED OCCURRED AGAIN A WEEK LATER. IT IS SCHEDULED TO BE LOOK AT BY THE HONDA DEALERSHIP.

PURCHASED IN MAY 2019. CURRENTLY < 50,000 MILES. ALL SERVICE PERFORMED AT HONDA DEALERSHIP. SEVERAL WEEKS AGO BEGAN TO NOTICE GASOLINE SMELL IN THE CABIN WHILE DRIVING. DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT, THOUGH IT WAS COMING FROM THE OUTSIDE/OTHER VEHICLES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LAST WEEK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE, WAS TOLD THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, CYLINDER 3 ISSUE. LAST RESORT WAS TO DO A FUEL INJECTOR CLEANING SERVICE, HAD THAT DONE. TWO DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. FOR FEW SECOND I REGAINED CONTROL OF GAS, I HAVE TO SPEED UP MY CAR SO I DON'T GET REAR END, THEN EVERYTHING HAPPEN AGAIN, CAR DECIDED TO TAP BRAKE BY ITSELF. THIS HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIME DURING THE HIGHWAY DRIVING. SCREEN POP UP SAID COLLISION MITIGATION BREAK SYSTEM ERROR. PLEASE CONTACT HONDA DEALERSHIP. AFTER CONTACT DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT DETERMINED THE PROBLEM SINCE THE ERROR DID NOT SHOW UP DURING THEIR IN HOUSE TESTING. AND YES, ERROR CODE DISAPPEARED AFTER CAR RESTARTED. BUT PROBLEM CONSISTS AFTER LONG DISTANCE DRIVE. I DON'T KNOW I SHOULD DRIVE THIS CAR OR I HAVE PRAY YOU GOD THAT ONE DAY I DON'T GET REAR END BECAUSE HONDA ACCORD DECIDES TO BRAKE ITSELF!

2018 HONDA ACCORD 2.0T TOURING WITH 10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, MILEAGE < 1000. TRANSMISSION HAS ROUGH SHIFTING FROM 2ND INTO 3RD GEAR AT LOW RPMS/SPEED (2,000 RPM / < 14MPH) FEELING LIKE A MANUAL SHIFT CAR POPPING THE CLUTCH. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN CAR IS COLD OR WARMED UP, CAR IS IN THE NORTHEAST WITH COLD OR HOT WEATHER. I NOTICED THAT THE RPMS DON'T DROP WHEN IT HAPPENS WHICH CREATES THE SLAM INTO GEAR FEELING JUDDER. UNDER SLIGHTLY HARDER BUT NORMAL ACCEIERATION THE CAR SHIFTS (LIKE A MANUAL CAR ) AS IF DOUBLE CLUTCHING FROM 2-3RD FEELING LIKE ITS SKIPPING A GEAR BUT ITS VERY QUICK AS YOU HEAR THE ENGINE REVS BLIP BETWEEN SHIFTS. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO OBSERVED THE SAME ROUGH SHIFTING AND TOLD BY DEALER IT DOES SHIFT LIKE THIS COMPARED TO OTHER ACCORD VEHICLES. DEALER INDICATED THEY WOULD ONLY OBSERVE THE CONDITION SINCE HONDA HAS NO OFFICIAL TSA OUT YET. I SHOWED HIM THE ACURA VIDEO FOR THE SAME ENGINE/TRANS A CLUTCH FIX BREAK-IN THAT'S WAS USED TO HELP SOLVE SOME REPORTED ROUGH SHIFTING AND HONDA DEALER WOULD NOT USE IT GIVEN ACURA USE CASE. I AM ON 7,000 MILES BUT UNDER 1YR OWNERSHIP AND THE SAME ROUGH SHIFT CONDITION EXIST BUT LESS SEVERE. SOME INTERNET REPORTS STATE ROUGH SHIFTING GOES AWAY ABOVE 7K MILES AS THE TRANSMISSION BREAKS-IN AND THE SOFTWARE LEARNS THE DRIVING BEHAVIOR BUT IT REALLY HAS NOT IN MY EXPERIENCE. HARD ACCELERATION GOING ABOVE 4500 RPM THE CAR SHIFTS QUITE NORMALLY AND SMOOTHLY AND DOES NOT EXHIBIT THE LOW SPEED ROUGH SHIFTING IN ANY OF THE NORMAL OR SPORT MODES OF THE CAR THUS SURMISING THERE'S SOME FORM OF OPERATIONAL FAILURE OCCURRING BY UNINTENTIONAL DESIGN IN SOFTWARE OR MECHANICAL.

THE PROBLEM WE HAD WITH THIS 2018 HONDA ACCORD, WAS IT WOULDN'T START. WITHOUT WARNING OF LOW BATTERY OR FAULTY CHARGING OR ANY OTHER INDICATION DISPLAYED IN THE WARNING OR ADVISORY SYSTEMS OF THE CAR PREVIOUSLY - IT JUST WOULDN'T START. FIRST ATTEMPT TO START THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED THESE SYSTEM FAILURES ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION INTERFACE : VEHICLE STABILITY SYS. PROB., BRAKE SYS. PROB., ANTI- LOCK BRAKE PROB., BRAKE HOLD SYS. PROB. IN ADDITION, THE PARKING LIGHTS CAME ON AUTOMATICALLY AND COULD NOT BE SELECTED "OFF" . BEING A SUNDAY MORNING , WE WAITED UNTIL MONDAY MORNING TO CALL THE TOWING SERVICE TO BRING CAR TO NEAREST DEALER. TOW DRIVER CONNECTED A PORTABLE CHARGER TO THE BATTERY- AND WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR, BUT AFTER DISCONNECTING THE CHARGER, THE CAR AGAIN WOULD NOT START. THE DEALERS REPORT TO US, WAS THAT OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE RADIO WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING IS THE CAUSE AND EFFECT OF THE DEAD BATTERY- SO, OPERATOR/OWNER ERROR. (( IT'S OUR FAULT THE ,... ( THAT THE BATTERY IS WEAK, LOW BUDGET AND SAVES THE COMPANY ( HONDA MOTORS) MONEY BY USING CHEAPER PRODUCTS.)). NOW, IF THIS WERE YOU, OR YOUR WIFE, OR YOUR DAUGHTER, OR GRAND MOTHER; OR ALL OF THEM IN THE CAR TOGETHER GOING TO AN EVENT LIKE A WEDDING - AND THEY WERE SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, WITHOUT WARNING .... STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, AT NIGHT, IN STORMY WEATHER, OR WORSE... EVACUATING THE AREA FROM A TSUNAMI. WOULD YOU BE CONCERNED ? OR , WOULD YOU BE FLIPPANT ABOUT IT ,.... AS A "CORPORATION " OFTEN IS. " .. LET'S WAIT AND SEE IF THE GOVERNMENT WILL CATCH UP WITH US FIRST, AND MAKE US DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ... " .

7/17/19. 2018 ACCORD TOURING 2.0 PURCHASED NEW IN NOVEMBER (HAS ABOUT 11,000 MILES NOW). I WAS DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN CAR MADE LOUD CLUNKING NOISE, BEGAN TO SMOKE INTENSELY, AND SHUDDERED TO A STOP AND DIED. I WAS ON BLUETOOTH PHONE CALL AT THE TIME AND THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END HEARD IT AND ASKED WHAT IT WAS. I SAID I THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER JUST AS EVERY POSSIBLE WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON DASH AND PROFUSE SMOKE POURED FROM SIDES AND UNDER HOOD. I JUMPED OUT AND MOVED AWAY FROM VEHICLE, SEEING A LONG STREAM OF LIQUID FROM UNDER THE CAR ALONG THE ROAD WHERE I HAD PULLED OVER. FIRE RESCUE CAME, ALTHOUGH THE CAR DID NOT IGNITE. THEY AND THE ROADSIDE SERVICE MAN ADVISED ME THAT OIL HAD EXPLODED EVERYWHERE, AS FROM A HIGH PRESSURE SITUATION. THE CAR HAS HAD ONE OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALER, PER ITS MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE, AND OTHERWISE HAS HAD NOTHING DONE. I DID HEAR A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM IT THE PREVIOUS EVENING--LOUD ENOUGH THAT I CHECKED TO SEE IF IT HAD ANY MAINTENANCE WARNINGS, WHICH IT DID NOT. IT SAID MY OIL WAS AT 60% AND WOULD NEED A B1 WHEN IT WAS TIME. AFTER MY CAR DIED, IT REQUIRED A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT EVEN TURN IT ON AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG, BUT THEY NEED A SPECIALIST TO COME LOOK AT IT. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT HOW UTTERLY DANGEROUS THE SITUATION WAS. IF IT HAD BEEN LATER IN THE DAY WITH HEAVIER TRAFFIC, MY LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT EVEN GREATER RISK. IT SEEMS REALLY UNUSUAL TO HAVE SUCH A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE FOR NO REASON ON A NEW, HISTORICALLY RELIABLE VEHICLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREGG ORR HONDA (4701 CENTRAL AVE, HOT SPRINGS, AR 71913), BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,200.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE AND THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR RANDOMLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER MORE THAN TWICE WHILE MAKING A TURN AND DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND SHUT OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. WAIKEM HONDA (3910 LINCOLN WAY E, MASSILLON, OH 44646, (330) 477-5002) WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE OR LOCATE A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER TECHNICIAN TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT FOUND NO FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND A SECOND TIME AROUND 7,300 MILES.*BF CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" AND I CANNOT ACCELERATE. IF I WERE IN THE LEFT LANE PASSING A SEMI, I COULD VISUALIZE THIS A FATAL ACCIDENT. I AM ANTICIPATING ANOTHER "LIMP MODE" SOON AS I HAVE JUST OVER 11,000 MILES AND IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN ABOUT EVERY 3 TO 4,000 MILES. *JB

I HAVE A 2018 HONDA ACCORD 2.0T TOURING WITH THE 10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS EXTREMELY ROUGH FROM 2-3 GEAR, 3-4TH AND DOWNSHIFTING INTO PRETTY MUCH ANY GEAR. IT'S BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED. I WAS TOLD IT WAS JUST HOW THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ON THIS CAR, WHICH I IMMEDIATELY DISPUTED BECAUSE I'VE DRIVEN OTHER EXACT MODELS THAT DID NOT EXHIBIT THIS ROUGH SHIFTING BEHAVIOR. I ALSO AM DISSATISFIED WITH THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TAKES THE VEHICLE TO ENGAGE REVERSE FROM PARK. IT CAN TAKE UP TO 3 SECONDS FOR REVERSE TO ENGAGE AT WHICH TIME IT JUST SLAMS INTO GEAR. I'VE CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA AND FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE VARIOUS CONCERNS I HAVE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I ALSO HAVE A PAINT DEFECT FROM THE FACTORY ON THE REAR TRUNK LID. HONDA INSTRUCTED ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH IS HARD WITH MY SCHEDULE. IF THIS CONTINUES AFTER THE NEXT SERVICE APPOINTMENT, I'M GOING TO DEMAND THE CAR BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE.

THE CAR ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. IT HAPPENED ON MARCH 28 1:30PM WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY 24. THE CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING ON HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65 MILES PER HOUR FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES WHEN I FIRST SMELLED SOMETHING IS BURNING. I THEN SAW SMOKE COMING OUT FROM THE FRONT SECTION OF THE CAR. I IMMEDIATELY CHANGED LANES TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND ATTEMPTED TO STOPPED THE CAR BY PRESSING THE FOOT BRAKE. THE CAR HAS SIGNIFICANTLY SLOW DOWN BUT IT WAS CONTINUED ROWING FORWARD. IT IS ON A SLIGHTLY DOWNHILL SLOP. AS SEEING SMOKE GETTING DARKER AND MORE STRONG, I PRESSED THE PARKING BRAKE AND THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT STOPPED. I THEN OPENED THE CAR DOOR AND ROWED OUT FROM THE CAR ONTO THE HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO CAR AND I WAS OK. I THEN CALLED 911 TO HAVE FIRE DEPARTMENT PUT OUT THE FIRE. THE CAR WAS TOTALED. I HAVE 2 CONCERNS. MY CAR WAS JUST 16 MONTHS OLD WHEN IT HAPPENED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ON BEFORE IT HAPPENED AND WE HAVE FOLLOWED THE SERVICE SCHEDULE. HOW CAN SOMETHING LIKE THIS CAN HAPPEN TO A RELATIVELY NEW CAR AND PERFECT SERVICE RECORD. THE OTHER CONCERN IS WHEN THE CAR WAS ON FIRE, BOTH THE FOOT BREAK AND PARKING BREAK COULD NOT STOPPED THE CAR FROM MOVING. HAS THIS HAPPENED IN A UPHILL OR DOWN HILL SLOP, I WOULD BE AT GREAT RISK.

DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, 65 MPH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. SUDDENLY, WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND VEHICLE ABRUPTLY AND QUICKLY DECELERATED FROM 65 TO 20 MPH, FORCING ME TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF. BECAUSE OF THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, I RE-STARTED THE CAR A FEW MINUTES LATER AND DROVE TO THE NEXT EXIT A COUPLE MILES AHEAD AT A REDUCE SPEED. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE. THE HONDA DEALER IN ORCHARD PARK, NY ,WHERE THE CAR WAS TOWED, TOLD ME THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS EXTREMELY HIGH, AND CHANGED MY OIL TO BRING IT TO A NORMAL OIL LEVEL. THE DEALER FURTHER TOLD ME THAT THE BECAUSE I DRIVE SHORT TRIPS AND THE WEATHER HAS BEEN COLD THAT IS WHY GASOLINE IS GOING INTO THE OIL AND GIVING ME ENGINE TROUBLE ON MY NEW CAR. MY HONDA DEALER IN ROCHESTER, NY CONFIRMED THE SAME AND SAID TO DRIVE MY CAR A COUPLE OF TIMES A WEEK FOR A LONGER PERIOD OF TIME TO HELP AVOID THIS ISSUE. MY DRIVING HABITS AS A STUDENT LIVING ON A SMALL CAMPUS, IN A COLD AREA, ARE THAT OF A FEW SHORT DRIVES A DAY TO CLASSES. I USE MY CAR PRIMARILY FOR DRIVING MYSELF HOME AND TO SCHOOL WHICH IS A 2 HOUR DRIVE. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR MY HONDA ACCORD, AND BOTH HONDA DEALERSHIPS SAID THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE HONDA CR-V & CIVIC BUT THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY ISSUES WITH A HONDA ACCORD. I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT MY NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD WITH 2220 MILES HAS THE SAME ISSUE, AND THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION ON THE HIGHWAY SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME AND MY FAMILY AND I AM VERY GRATEFUL I DID NOT GET HURT OR MY CAR MALFUNCTIONING DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND CAUSE INJURY TO OTHER DRIVERS.

2018 ACCORD TOURING 2.0 ABOUT 1800 MILES ON IT. THE CAR SHIFTS VERY ROUGH IN THE FIRST 3-4 GEARS WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. ALSO HAPPENS AT TIMES WHEN ITS WARMER. ONE DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT WITH A HONDA APPROVED BREAK-IN PROCEDURE. IT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. IT HAS HAPPENED EACH DAY I DRIVE THE CAR SINCE I FIRST GOT IT ABOUT A MONTH AGO.

FUEL IS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE OIL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE OVERFILLED
I BOUGHT A NEW ACCORD IN SEPTEMBER 2018, THERE WAS NOISE IN THE CAR, THE ENGINE ALSO HAD ABNORMAL SOUNDS, TERRIBLE DEALERS, TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE AMERICAN HONDA! THEY CAN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM, JUST SHIRK EACH OTHER'S RESPONSIBILITY! RECENTLY I FOUND THAT THE LANE KEEP SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY.I HAVE ALREADY GONE TO THE HONDA SERVICE STATION 10 TIMES FOR THESE QUESTIONS! BUT THEY JUST TOLD ME THAT THESE ARE NOT PROBLEMS. IT'S JUST UNACCEPTABLE.

IN COLDER WEATHER, THE VEHICLE MAKES A DRONE LIKE HUMMING NOISE, SIMILAR TO RUNNING A WET FINGER AROUND A WINE GLASS EXCEPT LOUDER. IF I OPEN THE WINDOW IT STOPS, IT ALSO STOPS BELOW 5 MPH. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING, I ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM. THE DEALER IS TELLING ME IT'S THE SPEAKERS, BUT WHY WOULD IT STOP WHEN THE WINDOW IS OPEN. I BELIEVE IT'S THE ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION ANC - ONCE THE VEHICLE WARMS UP 15 - 20 MINUTES THE NOISE STOPS. I FEEL THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY HAZARD THAT HONDA IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT. ONE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE "ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON IT, BUT NO FIX AT THIS TIME". THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND IT ISN'T STOPPING. SEEMS LIKE HONDA IS HOPING FOR WARMER WEATHER BUT THAT IS NOT RIGHT. PLEASE HELP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEAT FAILED TO WORK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED. HONDA OF NEW ROCHELLE (25 E MAIN ST, NEW ROCHELLE, NY 10801, (888) 905-3762) SUGGESTED THAT THE CONTACT "TRICK" THE VEHICLE BY PUTTING ON HER SEAT BELT AND SHIFTING INTO DRIVE. THE HEAT STARTED TO WORK; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART AND WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CALLED BACK ONE MONTH LATER AND STATED THAT THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WERE REPORTS THAT THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED HER STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND RESEARCHED THE LEMON LAWS. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT SHE DID NOT WANT THE VEHICLE AND INFORMED BOTH THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER BY LETTER THAT SHE WANTED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE DEALER'S GENERAL MANAGER INSTRUCTED THE CONTACT TO REMOVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE DEALER'S LOT. THE GENERAL MANAGER THREATENED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE PLACED BY THE ROAD WHERE IT WOULD GET TICKETED. THE CONTACT REMOVED THE PLATES AND LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 818.

I GOT MY HONDA ACCORD SPORT ON NOVEMBER 30 2018 WITH 8 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THAT THERE WAS NO HEAT IN THE CAR. I ALSO NOTICED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IN THE DASH WAS NOT REACHING 'ENGINE TEMPERATURE. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER HONDA OF NEW ROCHELLE, COMPLAINING OF NO HEAT WHILE IDLING. I WAS TOLD TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE WITH MY SEATBELTS AND BRAKES ON TO TRICK IT' THAT SEEMED TO WORK. A WEEK LATER IT STARTED TO GET TO ENGINE TEMPERATURE WHILE IDLING WITHOUT TRICKING IT. A WEEK LATER WHILE IDLING THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF NEVER TO START AGAIN. THE VALVES WERE DAMAGED. HONDA REPLACED THE ENGINE THAT ONLY HAD 800 MILES. NOW THEY WANT TO GIVE ME BACK THE CAR WHEN I KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING INHERENTLY DEFECTIVE WITH THE ENGINE DESIGN.

OIL IS SEEPING FROM THE TOP OF THE ENGINE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I DO NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THIS COMPONENT. INITIALLY AND SHORTLY AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR NOVEMBER 2018, THERE WAS THE SMELL OF OIL/GAS AROUND THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR. I DO NOT NOTICE IT NOW. I CHECK THE DIPSTICK OIL LEVEL ROUTINELY AND HAD TWO DEALERSHIPS CHECK THE OIL LEVEL; ONE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE OIL. HOWEVER, THE CURRENT OIL LEVEL ON THE DIP STICK INDICATES THAT IT IS OVER-FULL AND THERE IS A SLIGHT SMELL OF GASOLINE ON THE DIPSTICK. THE OIL SEEMS VERY THIN (NOT VISCOUS) AND RUNS QUICKLY OFF OF THE DIPSTICK.

NEW HONDA ACCORD 2.0T WITH 10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS VERY ROUGH AND SLOW FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED ON HONDA ACCORD OWNER FORUMS AND ACURA RDX OWNER FORUMS (THE TWO VEHICLES SHARE THE SAME ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION). THE VEHICLE NORMALLY SHIFTS HARD FROM 2ND TO 3RD, BUT OCCASIONALLY IT IS VERY SLOW TO ENGAGED 3RD GEAR AND THEN SLAMS INTO GEAR. IT'S VERY STRANGE HOW IT FEELS. IT CAN CAUSE THERE TO BE A HESITATION WHEN TRYING TO RAPIDLY ACCELERATE OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND FEELS LIKE IT'S DAMAGING THE TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO LEITH HONDA OF RALEIGH WHO ADVISED THERE'S NO TSB OR CAMPAIGN FROM HONDA TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. THERE IS HOWEVER A VIDEO THAT ACURA HAS POSTED FOR THEIR SERVICE TECHNICIANS ADVISING THEM TO FOLLOW A "CLUTCH BREAK IN PROCEDURE" TO RESOLVE THE ROUGH SHIFTING.

STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE IN THE ENGINE AND RISING OIL LEVEL. CAR DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 200 MILES ON IT! THIS IS NOT WHAT I HAD EXPECTED FROM A HONDA.
MY BRAND NEW 2018 HONDA ACCORD 2.0T W/ AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IS HAVING ISSUES. IT SHIFTS VERY ROUGHLY SOMETIMES, I NOTICE THE PROBLEM MOST WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, HOWEVER IT STILL HAPPENS FREQUENTLY WHEN ENGINE IS AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURES. I UNDERSTAND THAT ITS A FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION VEHICLE AND A NEWLY DESIGNED TRANSMISSION BUT HAVING PROBLEMS LIKE THIS WITH UNDER 700.00 MILES IS EXCUSABLE. THE PROBLEM DID NOT SUDDENLY START, I NOTICED THE PROBLEM SOON AFTER DRIVING OFF THE DEALER LOT FOR THE FIRST TIME. AND LET ME BE CLEAR, I UNDERSTAND WHAT "BREAK IN PERIODS" ARE FOR CARS AND I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THIS VEHICLE AGGRESSIVELY AT ALL YET, THE VERY ROUGH SHIFTS HAPPEN AT JUST NORMAL EVERYDAY DRIVING.
ON A HOT DAY WHILE SITTING STATIONARY IN MY CAR WITH AC RUNNING, I HEARD A 'POP' WITH A FIZZLE SOUND THEN SMOKE BEGAN TO RISE FROM THE FRONT OF THE DASH WHERE IT MEETS THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING [PUSH TO START], AND ALL LIGHTS FLASHED ON THE DASHBOARD. THE ALL SENSORS BEGAN TO EMIT ERROR MESSAGES. I TURNED OFF AND EXITED VEHICLE, POPPED THE HOOD AND SMOKE WAS ALSO COMING UP FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN MARCH 2018, AND AT TIME OF INCIDENT HAD A LITTLE 6000 MILES. AFTER LETTING CAR SIT FOR A FEW HOURS IT STARTED UP, WITH ERROR MESSAGES ACROSS THE DISPLAY..I.E. TPMS, CHECK ENGINE, LKAS,ETC. I THEN HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO NEAREST HONDA DEALER, AND THE SERVICE PEOPLE WERE UNSURE WHY A MODULE IN THE DASH BURNT OUT; SO THEY CONTACTED HONDA CORP. LONG STORY SHORT THEY PLACED BLAME THAT A CHARGER FOUND IN THE BOTTOM OF MY GLOVE BOX CAUSED IT, WHICH WAS NEVER USED IN MY CAR. TO THIS DAY NO ONE CAN ANSWER ME WHY A SPONTANEOUS FIRE STARTED IN MY CAR WHILE SITTING STILL WITH AC RUNNING, BUT THEY REFUSED TO FIX MY CAR. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS ISSUE IF THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT. PHOTOS SHOW POSSIBLE LEAKAGE ON THE WIRES, BUT NO ON WANTS TO ADMIT THAT THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM AT HAND.
THE FIRST NIGHT I TOOK OWNERSHIP OF CAR, THE ENGINE LIGHT BLINKED AND THE CAR LOST POWER, AND BECAME A BRICK. HAD TO TURN CAR THE OFF, START IT, AND BEGAN TO FUNCTION NORMALLY. CAR SHOWED 3 MISFIRE CODES ON MY SCANNER P0301, P0304, P0300. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE FIRST TIME NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY CHECKED THE COMPUTER AND IT SHOWS NOTHING HAPPENED. RELUCTANT TO TAKE THE CAR I WAS, BUT LIA BREWSTER HONDA WAS VERY FORCEFUL AND TOOK THE LOANER BACK. NOT EVEN TWO NIGHTS LATER THE CAR DID IT TWICE IN ONE DRIVE CYCLE. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS IN THE RAIN. LIA BREWSTER HONDA HAS MY CAR NOW FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND NO ONE CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. I AM UPSET THAT THEY TOLD ME MY CAR WAS SAFE, I HAVE A 9 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER THAT IS THE WORLD TO ME. I EXPLAINED THIS AND STILL WAS NOT TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. MY CAR IS STILL THERE, AND NO SIGN OF BEING FIXED. ONLY PAID ONE PAYMENT ON THE CAR. THEY TOOK MY CAR DUE TO THE FACT I VIDEO TAPED THIS HAPPENING. I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE FOR MY FAMILY, HOPE THIS ISN'T SOMETHING THAT BECOMES A TREND WITH 2018 HONDA 2.0T. PEOPLE'S SAFETY IS A NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. VERY UPSET I WAS TOLD NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, AND WAS PUTS IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION.

THIS CAR HAS STARTED TO SHOW SIGNS OF BAD BUILD QUALITY. 1ST 2 DAYS AFTER BUYING THE CAR ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON SO I HAD TO TAKE IT IN FOR A MODULE REPLACEMENT. 2ND THE CAR IS VERY LOUD ( THE ROAD NOISE AND ENGINE NOISE) WORSE NOISE I'VE EVER HEARD FROM A NEW CAR AND SOUND LIKE IT'S HAS EXHAUST LEAKS. T|E VEHICLES RIDE IS VERY HARD LIKE THE STRUTS ARE WORN OR BOTTOMING OUT AND IT'S NOT THE 17 INCH TIRES AS MY FUSION HAS 17'S. THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP IN ITS LANE EVEN WITH ALL OF THE LANE KEEP TECHNOLOGY I HAVE A HARD TIME STAYING STRAIGHT ESPECIALLY WHEN I HIT BUMPS THE CAR HOPS AROUND LIKE IT HAS WORN STRUTS.
