Honda needs to recall all the newer vehicles starting with 2018 to 2024. All lights on the dashboard is on and while I’m on highway, the car would apply the brake itself and when I released my foot from the pedal, the car run smoothly again. I took the car to Honda dealership last year and I was charged over 1500 dollars, still the car is having the same issue. This is frustrating. Today, the car is showing the camera like I was trying to back up, even though the car was on drive mode. Unbelievable.
While driving, the power steering warning came on and the steering wheel became extremely tight, making it very difficult to turn. This has happened more than once, most recently on December 8, 2025. The loss of steering assist occurred while the vehicle was in motion and created a serious safety concern. The dealership retrieved diagnostic code C1250-52, which indicates an internal malfunction of the electric brake booster ECU. The steering issue and warning occurred again after the initial diagnosis. The system appears to fail intermittently and without warning. I have owned multiple Honda Accord vehicles over the years and have never experienced anything like this. Sudden loss of steering assist while driving is a safety defect, and similar issues have been reported by other owners of 2018–2022 Honda Accord models.
All my warning lights keep coming on in dashboard and my car isn’t accelerating in cold weather after sitting overnight
While trying to accelerate the car loses power. This has happened many times. The Honda dealership has said the system is on back order and they will call me when it’s available. It’s been months. The “jerks”a few times then the check engine light comes on then the car loses power. The dashboard lights are brake system, emission system, electric power steering, hill assist and ACC system problem.

I had been driving down highway and all of a sudden my car put on brakes hard. Thank goodness no one was behind me. I had dealer turn off that feature so it wouldn't happen again. I still experience my brake light flashing when nothing in road to brake for but doesn't brake on its own. Issue having now is issues starting car and once it starts I recieved a collision mediations issue pop-up on display saying see dealer now. Cruise control issue, and on dash has traction control saying ignitionating continue driving. The braking issue started right after purchase in 2018. The starting issue started yesterday 7/25/2025.
Parking brake suddenly engaged while in traffic car would not move. Car had to be towed brake pads were replaced but mechanic stated parking brake had defect that only the dealer can repair.

Driving down the road, no cars or obstacles in front of me. Out of nowhere the automatic emergency breaking came on. The car slammed on the breaks and very quickly came to a complete stop in the middle of the road. If there happened to be another car behind me they would have rear-ended me. There were no warnings prior to this happening.

During interstate driving vehicle detected both road departure and engaged the emergency automated braking. The vehicle attempted to correct the "road departure" by steering the vehicle away from the perceived problem and engaged the brakes nearly causing a collision as it has done numerous times before. I have reported this to NHTSA and American Honda and await a repair of this dangerous issue. Honda has opened a case on this but have had 6 months and no response has been issued.
My 2018 Honda Accord Sport has been experiencing issues with its automatic emergency braking system, specifically the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). The system has been activaing unexpectedly, causing the car to brake without an apparent reason. I’ve been trying to keep a list of locations that it has happened and it usually occurs under overpasses when the light changes from light to dark. I’ve reached out directly to Honda and the dealership and neither took my inquiry seriously.
The collision mitigation braking system is engaging while I’m driving with no obstructions in front of me. The car slows down completely while I’m on the highway almost coming to a complete stop. This has happened numerous times since Dec 2024. I took it into Honda and they did absolutely nothing besides charge me over $500 for diagnostic fees and told me to get an oem battery and bring it back to be inspected again.
While driving on the interstate, suddenly got 6 different ‘warning’ messages on the dashboard. Most of them involved the brakes. Emergency brake malfunction, brake hold malfunction, forward collision malfunction, adaptive cruise control malfunction, brake system malfunction (use of brakes may be reduced), and road departure mitigation malfunction.
The car is braking even when there is no obstacle or vehicle ahead. I have not driven at higher speed but I fear that if that happens, it can cause incident and injury.
CARS BRAKE/MDOULE AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGING. BRAKE LIGHT AND BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT CONSTANTLY FLASHING. FROM WHAT IVE READ SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED OR MADE A RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND CAN CAUSE HARM TO THE DRIVER AND OTHERS.
Randomly, my car will start throwing many warning signs when I crank my car. Then it magically disappears after 2 days. Also I drive my car past 40mph and the engine light came on and then I could no longer accelerate. My car was slowing down while I was on the freeway. I pulled over, turned my car off then back on. Everything is back to normal. Next day, I crank my car, warning signs again and then disappears. I took my car to the auto shop and they could not find any codes. I have videos and pictures. There’s also a Honda Facebook group with my same model car reporting the same behavior.
While driving on highways, with no one in front of me, vehicle will brake while I have my foot on the gas. Vehicle says brake system malfunction. When I let off the gas and push again, it'll accelerate for a second, then brake again even though my foot is on the accelerator.
The rear brakes are horrible. They wear so quick. This is my 3rd Honda Accord and I’ve never replaced brakes this much on any Accord I’ve ever owned. Back tires also wear really fast. The rear brakes squeal really bad and makes squealing noises when I’m driving. No brakes are being applied but the noise continues. I’ve had this car for 3 years and I’ve changed brakes 3 times which is ridiculous.

During regular driving, the vehicle engine will stall and lose power, with 9 different warning lights coming on and ALL advanced driver assistance systems becoming disabled, and I believe ABS brakes being disabled as well. This is due to cylinder 3 misfires and the problem is intermittent, but the loss of power can come on randomly and is dangerous on highways as you have to pull over due to the sudden loss of engine power, restart the car, and hope the problem temporarily goes away. The L15BE engine used in 10th gen Accord engines is widely known to have a faulty engine block design leading to EARLY head gasket leaks (see links) which results in misfires and I think it is imperative that Honda issue a recall as thus far, they have been ignoring the pleas of the owners. I am planning on replacing the gasket ($4000 personal mechanic. Honda charges closer to $6000) with aftermarket parts ($400 additional) as replacing them with OEM parts would just allow this to occur again. Please contact me for more details. All warning lights came on (check engine, emissions problem, brake problem, tire pressure monitoring system problem, cruise control problem, brake problem, steering wheel problem, and lane keeping assist problem). In addition, sometimes the vehicle will vibrate or shake when first turned on and at times, when braking, the car will shake or vibrate.
The vehicle is stalling while driving to a point where on the freeway it slows down to 10 miles per hour to all of the sudden have all the emergency lights on that come to a sudden stop. I have called 3 different Honda dealers, they said that they need to check what is wrong with the car first making it clear that there is a fee of $220. My daughter has been driving the vehicle in very unsafe conditions. On Friday [XXX] we were on our way to Oakland from the Ventura County (I was the passenger) and in less than an hour driving the car started stalling to come to a sudden stop on the freeway. I took the vehicle to the Ocean Honda dealership the following week driving forcefully the car at 20-30 miles because we could not afford another trip on the towing truck. The service person drove the car from the parking lot to the front of the service office (less than 50 ft) and the lady said the car was in perfect condition and not one emergency light was on! I shared with them images of all the emergency lights were on in the vehicle and as well as at least 4 codes. We left the car and then they called me to notify that there was an issue with the injectors and that the vehicle was still under warranty for those parts because it is under 70,000 miles. The next day the vehicle was given back to me. I asked about the replacement of the gas pump, and they said because the vehicle is not having any issues it cannot be replaced. That night the car stopped on the freeway, I took it back and now they said it was the spark plugs. I decided to take the vehicle to a different dealership. Now at DCH Honda today the injectors were replaced and the car still stalling and stopping. They recommend replacing the spark plugs ($350 they will charge) and I told them I will take it to my mechanic. They said, "but you know the car is not fixed even if they replace them". I Lost all system brake system tpms vehicle stability electric power steering hill start adaptive cruise control collision mitigation road departure Emission system problem. Check engine code that keeps popping out is P0301 have changed injectors and coil packs and have done further research on vehicle there are a lot of people stating they are a bad batch of injector and I have looked up to buy the injector and are unavailable. I believe the injector are bad and causing multiple check engine to pop up and further increasing the possibility of a crash or accident.

I have a 2018 honda accord. I have had issues with it breaking and nothing being there. It has cause me to almost get rear ended several times and I find it to be a huge safety hazard. I will be driving down an open road and nothing will be in front of me. My car will randomly slam on the breaks and it scares me terribly. This has happened quite a few times now. At first I thought it was a fluke but it has continued to happen and is becoming a major issue.

Brakes: Every day for past two years, on every startup car states Brake system problem, anti-lock brake problem, and TPMS problem; with it having no actual problem with brake system and message disappearing after a few minutes of driving. SRS: Intermittent display of SRS light while driving reading: airbag system or seat belt tensioners have a problem. Usually appears after Passenger airbag light intermittently turning on and off with nothing in front passenger seat. SRS light on dash doesn’t come back on after restarting car. Issue did not appear until seat belt recall last year.

had vehicle in for a recall, they informed me that my rear brakes only had 10% wear left, but front brakes had 60%+. That seems very strange because most of the braking is handled by front brakes. Additionally, as I sat in the customer waiting area - different service advisors came into the waiting area to also inform 2 other Honda owners that their rear brakes also need to be replaced. My vehicle is driven mostly highway miles but when I further asked why the rear brakes would wear - they said, that happens sometimes with electronic parking brake cars. Note - I've never used the parking brake, but hearing them tell 2 other customers as I sat for over 5 hours in the waiting room seemed very strange and more an engineering flaw and potential safety issue.
My vehicle I of several people I know suddenly appears on the screen the symbol of the seat belt I the airbags turn off I took it to the dealer I they told me that it doesn't have it. Nothing keeps appearing and Honda is not responsible for something that can take lives in an accident either
The brakes failed on the highway twice.
In the 2018 Honda Accord the "Brake Hold" system will, at times, allow the vehicle to keep creeping forward after the vehicle is brought to a full stop with the Brake Hold system engaged. This is one of the issue which Honda has failed to properly troubleshoot to this day.
While driving on highway, I had to break fast to avoid collision. immediately after breaking all the lights in the car lit like a Christmas tree and had the following message “Emission System problem. Avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. See your dealer” I went to the nearest dealer service center and they recommended that I drive vehicle for ten minutes and see if it goes away. If it did not they asked to go back. I drove the car once again in the freeway and It seem to drive okay but then it suddenly shook a lot when pressing gas pedal and it did not accelerate. I used emergency lights and took first exit. Luckily there was a dealer within a couple of miles. Honda’s service center technician stated after running the rough computer that it could be multiple things wrong with car but most likely the issue was the fuel pump and faulty emergency light switch. I was driving back home from school break and still had a 5 hour drive to get home. The cost to fix both issues was estimated at over $1800, my dad opted to get pump replaced (@ over $1300) since this was since most likely will get me on the road again based on conversation he had with technician. Technician also did not guarantee that this would solve the issue since there were many codes activated and would only clear codes after servicing vehicle and go from there.
The warning lights appear out of nothing and the issue has happened without an incident. I’ve been scared to drive my car with all these dash lights on. I don’t feel safe and I don’t want to put my life or kids life in danger.
The lights on this car pops up weekly sometimes when im driving pass 40 mph my car will just shut off. My brake hold button works on in off since ive gotten it i constantly get warnings like brake system problem, tire pressure monitor system problem, electrical prower steer Problem, acc problem, emissions problems all at once i have taking it to the dealer plenty of times but the problem never gets resolved i have been in almost 5 accidents due to my car just losing power
The 2018 Accords have a system called "Brake Hold" which is intended to engage the braking system while a vehicle is stopped at, say, a stop-light. The intent seems to be to allow the driver to have their foot on the gas, instead of the brake pedal. The Brake Hold system frequently has an issue where it allows the vehicle to creep. This, generally, seems to happen in colder temperatures. Another, pattern of behavior is when the vehicle has been brought to a slow roll, then stopped (using the brake pedal) and as soon as the brake pedal is release, the Brake Hold system fails to hold the vehicle in the stopped position. After a significant delay, the Brake System is engaged, but the vehicles had, at that point, lurched forward several inches, if not over a foot. This indicates (just as with the Collision Mitigation System delays, discussed in other complaints) that there is a significant issue with the timing of the control system utilized in the Brake Hold, the sensor(s) or both, where the system fails to detect the conditions in real time and reacts in a delayed manner. Again, as with other issues on the later Honda models, Honda has failed to perform comprehensive troubleshooting of the issue (even after me taking the vehicle to the dealer as indicated by Honda. This is a complaint for a separately occurring instance.
While driving at 35-40 mph the AEB braking system activated without cause. There was no vehicle, person or object in front of the car so the sensor should not have activated. The car braked without warning very abruptly. This has happened several times and I have reported to this site at least two other occasions in similar nature.
I was on a hill my car stalled I hit the gas pedal it wouldn't accelerate so I let off the padel and went to try to accelerate for the second time but as I did it took off and I hit a pole
When I am driving, the car turns off in the middle of the road and this warning message appears: Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem See Your Dealer. I took it to the dealer. They changed the battery, but the problem still occurs. This is dangerous because the car cut off in the middle of the road where you can get rear ended.

Out of the blue car was having a glitch on the screen when turning on the vechical. The battery died and was replaced. Once battery was replaced engine light and brake like will turn on and off. After battery was replaced the engine light turned on and started to read that ignition and sparks plugs are bad. I have spoke to about 50 people with the same car and they are having the same issues and the mechanics do not know what is wrong

After getting my car service the service dept. said my brake were ok, two months later my rear driver side brake pads were worn to the metal and my brake caliper needs to be replace along with that brake rotor, I complained I was just in here two months ago and you said they were ok and I asked why just one brake pad wore out they had no answer , I asked will my extended warranty will cover it and they said it would not be covered because it's normal wear and tear. also, all my Warning lights, will come on every once in a while, but by the time i go to the dealer they would cut off so now i just wait to the next day and turn the car off and on until the light go off, when i tell the dealer and show pictures of all the warning lights they say they cannot do anything until they see it themselves.
My 2018 Accord had 22628 miles on it. I brought in for an oil change and tire rotation at my local dealer, Klein Honda in Everett Washington on 12/28/22. They performed the service and they gave the car an inspection. It said that the brake pads on all four wheels were at 8mm. which would be normal at 22628 miles. Two weeks later I started hearing a crunching noise when I would come to a stop. I made an appointment for a few days later 01/26/2023. I brought my car to the same dealer and they told me I needed a rear brake job, both pads and rotors. They said the pads were at 3mm on the left rear and 1mm and metal to metal on the right rear. $600 dollars, plus tax. I don't understand how pads can go from 8mm to 3mm in three weeks. I had only driven 259 miles between appointments. No warning lights came on and the only indication was the noise. The dealer said all the breaking systems were fine and workinkg properly after they did the brake job. There is no way that could have happened in 259 miles. Even if the first inspection was a mistake or the tech was taking short cuts, the fact that it wore out rear brakes at under 23000 miles should make a recall. Honda had a similar problem in 2010 and had a recall.
My airbag light comes on than goes off for a bit than comes on for a few months With only 1200 miles I needed braces and rotors , since the metal used was rusted out and worn
The parking brake will randomly disengage when the car is parked, so I have to leave it in gear as a backup.

I got a B1 maintenance not that long ago and they said everything was fine but fast forward like 3 months later, my breaks start clunking and it sounds like it’s metal to metal and I don’t even drive fast like a crazy person or anything and I get a warning that pops up sometimes talking about a supplemental air bags error and that the passenger air bags turned off. My 2018 Honda Accord 2.0t Sport with 41k miles is just acting super super strange. It sucks because I just bought this car like a year ago. Please help me.
Braking system caused my daughter to have an accident. My 2018 Honda Accord sport has been braking on its own for quite some time now. I attempted to turn off all safety features but somehow missed the braking system feature. The car will brake on its own with nothing in front of it. It will give beeping noises and flash “brake” on the dashboard. On 10/12/2022 my daughter was on the interstate, the roads were wet with heavy traffic. She called me saying that she had an accident. The officer stated that speeding played a part in causing the accident. My daughter said the car just started beeping and she noticed she was going to slow in traffic so she preceded to get in the right lane. Upon doing so she said that my car just started spinning and she took her foot off the gas and never applied pressure to the brakes. She ended up on the other side of the road hitting a guard rail. I feel like the braking system played a huge part in this accident.
While driving the vehicle loses power in traffic or on highway. The brakes won’t stop and the gas won’t accelerate. It’s like the car dies the light all come on reading warnings Break mitigation system, Break ABS loss of engine power. I have had this looked at by the dealership and they just replaced the battery and the problem keeps occurring. I’m scared as I travel with small children. I hope this matter is looked into because it cause myself and other having the same issue a serious accident.
Hi my car the date Monday 12 September 2022. The car don't start and on the display is warning. Brake system problem. Parking brake not available. Brake performance may be reduced. The rear right caliper side is all broken complete internally. This is a real safety problem.
I have noticed a few times, at least 3 I can recall in the past year I’ve had the vehicle. The most recent being, i had just merged into a left lane. Traffic was light as it was around 8am going the opposite direction of heavy traffic and I was taking my child to school, and my car suddenly jerked like a hard brake motion. I could also hear what sounded like the abs trying to stop the car, kind of like thump but followed by a deep grinding sound like when you suddenly slam on the brakes. I looked to my side and there was no cars near me just the vehicle that was a few cars ahead of me and no one behind. The car was drove fine after that but it worries me that it could do it at the wrong time.

The car rear brakes are wearing down very quick. I replaced the rotors and the brake pads because the pads were actually rubbing the metal on the rotors. I replaced all original rotors and brake pads and about 10k miles, the rear brakes are making a metal to metal would. It seems like the rear brakes are engaged even though the parking brake and the foot is not on the brake pedal.
While driving the whole dash board lights up staring break issues, lane departure issues. The car starts julring on ewsy. I was terrified. Then I moved off eway because the car breaks automatically on its own and slows down. The cars are flying around me. It turns out it's the fuel pump. I assume all accords are having fuel pump issues because I was told it would be October before I would receive a fuel pump on a 3yr old Honda sport. Please investigate and recall. This vehicle is having fuel pump issues and could kill someone when it breaks on the eway out of nowhere, slows down and dash board lights up. I was very lucky. It could've easily cased a major accident.
Rear break pads and rotors worn quickly at 17K miles. Inspected by honda dealer. Installed new brakes and rotors at Mavis Discount Tires and worned out again in 8 months from installation date.

Rear brakes are wearing very quickly
On 6/6/22 the car had multiple Alarms came on the dashboard (break sys prob,emission prob,road dept mit,collision mit,break sys prot,aac sys prob, hill start asst prob,break performance prob). I called Honda Valley Stream informing them of the above. Got appt 6/8 I was told I would need to leave the car on 6/8 appt. On 6/8 approx 4pm rec a call from them to come get the car. Alarms only needed to be reset and rear camera recall was done. Next day all the alarms plus a few other returned. I went back and forth with Manger. I left the car Sat 6/11.Told it was injection fluid that's covered under warranty. Then later the manager called that it was CO2 built up and $413 to clean and take care of the problem. I paid for it and picked up the car. 6/15 during the day I noticed a problem with the steering and that car kept moving into the other lane , this got worst if I had to use the break. Later that night an alarm for Supplemental Restraint System. Ive notified Honda of Valley Stream of this new issue. Awaiting a resolution.
Car accident head on emergency break didn’t work bad injuries.
My brakes and rotters had to be changed three times in one year. Honda serviced my vehicle and changed my brakes and rotters at 34000 miles. I had four new tires and a wheel alignment at 36000 miles. I took my car back to Honda for service at 37000 less than I year after Honda replaced the brakes and rotters. I explained that my steering wheel shakes when I hit the brakes. I was informed that I needed brakes and rotters again. Honda refused to replace the brakes and rotters because I was beyond the warranty. I explained that it was under a year since they did the work therefore it should be covered, they refused. I paid to have brakes and rotters replaced on my vehicle in December 2021. It’s now April 2022 and my steering wheel is shaking again and I was informed that I need new breaks and rotters weeks after getting new brakes and rotters for the third time. I am a Honda fan and have drove and rooted for Honda for over 30 years. This experience has changed my perception of the reliable sedan that I once knew. The biggest issue is that Honda could care less about good customer service.
This vehicle has made sudden complete stops when there is no object or vehicle in front of it. This has occurred while being on a two lane road so no lane changing needed. It has made such a abrupt stop it has tightened the seat belts and sent a dog that was on the seat to the floor. I do alot of traveling on the highway and this could be very dangerous and cause a bad collision. Took to the dealer and was told nothing is perfect. I am very concerned of when it could happen.

The emergency braking anti collision system will engage when I am driving and there is nothing in front of me, regardless if there is a car or even a shadow the system will start to engage. I've had this happen on multiple occasions whether driving on a highway or neighborhood street. This has not been inspected by anyone yet and has not yielded any damage or accidents just yet.
I purchashed the Honda Accord new and it has 17,800+ miles. As I am driving usually highway driving it just suddenly decides to brake without my foot on the brake pedal. There doesn't seem to be any regular pattern. It has happened several times always on the highway at speed. A week ago it happened on a Sunday morning, changed lanes to ge into the off ramp lane and without warning it applied the brake. Fortunately there was nobody behind me. The car will automatically brake itself when no car in anywhere close to being in front of me. This only happens when I am going from the current lane to a left hand turn lane. It only happens when I do NOT have my blinkers activated. The braking does NOT happen when I use my blinkers. My best guess is the the use of the blinkers deactivates or overrides the sensors. This issue only happens at one particular turn near my house. I believe it has something to do with the lines painted on the road and how the sensors are reading them, but that is just a theory. This happens every time I drive by this intersection.

Whilst driving on the freeway, on multiple occasions, the automatic emergency braking system of the car engaged even though there was no car near me whether in front, to the sides or behind. On one of the occasions the automatic breaks kicked in with no car around me or in front of me, I estimate I was travelling around 60 mph and the car immediately braked down straight to around 30-40 mph. If there had been a car travelling behind me I most certainly would have been rear ended. This issue is clearly a safety risk for myself and other drivers. Unfortunately, in my research online I haven't seen anything from Honda regarding this issue. I have not addressed this issue with the Honda dealer as per my research online from reports from other people with the same issue, the dealer doesn't do anything about the issue, therefore I haven't bothered taking the vehicle into the dealer. This braking issue occurred soon after I purchased the vehicle in February of 2018, within a month or two as I recall. There were no warning lamps or messages or symptoms prior to the problem ocurring.
The automatic collision avoidance, braking system sometimes when it has brought to a near stop locks down. It happens when I am on cruise control and let the system slow me down. When this happens it won't bring me up to speed when the car in front of me pulls away. I have to give it some some gas to break free. It's happened several times over the last few months.

While driving a about 40 mph on a clear road, the car started braking automatically and almost stopped. I was worried I would be hit from behind.
In 2019 I was in a parking lot driving at about 5 mph. A man left a store and stepped into the street over 20 ft in front of my car and the car suddenly slammed on the brakes and came to a complete jerking stop without me hitting the brakes or applying any pressure since he was so far away I didn’t need to fully brake. I reported this to the Honda dealership during my next service and was told it must’ve been a fluke occurrence or exaggeration. During multiple instances over the years I have felt the car brake on its own while I’m entering an intersection even though there is nothing in the way and no reason to activate the braking system.

Rear brake pads wore out prematurely due to electric parking brake malfunction. Three different service writers at the Honda dealership acknowledged this as a known issue and stated they’ve seen it multiple times on this model. Honda refuses to acknowledge the issue and take responsibility. Front brakes show no signs of premature wear and are still in good “safe” condition. Mechanic at non-Honda service center agreed rear brakes wore out long before they should have and in a manner not related to normal wear and tear.

My rear brakes were reported to have been worn out and needing replacement when I last had my oil changed 12/3/2021 at the Honda dealership. I had them resurfaced this summer when taking my vehicle in for the previous oil change and routine maintenance. After reviewing several online posts and videos, I discovered several other Honda Accord owners reporting that their back brakes are wearing out much earlier than anticipated. This makes me think there is an underlying issue and defect in the braking system.

Collision Braking Mitigation System experienced two errors (descriptions unknown). Received error message warning on display panel, but no description of errors. CMBS, LKAS, speed limit sign sensing, etc. all failed. Turning vehicle off and on several times did not restore the system. Vehicle drove fine, but all safety features were disabled.
I have only 17,750 miles on my vehicle and my rear brakes are completely worn. They are pulsating and I am afraid to drive the car.

Rear breaks went from being in great conditions to totally work out to the point it was metal on metal. Went to the Honda dealership and they said the roters were rusted and corroded which caused the break pads to disappear. My brakes are very sensitive. Every time you brake it brakes hard. When I brake at 50 mph the steering wheel and brakes vibrate. I never had a car with this problem and I have had Honda's my whole life and never had this problem. I don't know if its because of the new electronic braking system but it sucks. THE INTENT SEEMS TO BE TO ALLOW THE DRIVER TO HAVE THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS, INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM FREQUENTLY HAS AN ISSUE WHERE IT ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO CREEP. THIS, GENERALLY, SEEMS TO HAPPEN IN COLDER TEMPERATURES. THE RADAR SENSOR ON THE VEHICLE HAS PREVIOUSLY CAUSE A NUMBER OF ISSUES AND THIS WAS AN EXTREME CASE OF THE CMBS (COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKE SYSTEM) REACTING IMPROPERLY. THE VEHICLE DECELERATION WAS ABRUPT TO THE POINT OF POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE INCOMING TRAFFIC IN THE NEW LANE IMPACTING THE VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. HONDA'S REPRESENTATIVES HAD SWORN LAST WINTER, WHEN THE RADAR SENSOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED TO THE POINT OF CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT CASCADED TO SEVERAL OF THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEMS THAT "ISSUES WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN." I BRUSHED IT OFF BUT ABOUT 20 MILES OR SO DOWN THE ROAD IT DID IT AGAIN EXCEPT THUS TE WAS NEXT TO A DIESEL AND NOT ONLY DID BRAKE ON ITS ON IT ALSO RESPONDED AS IF I WAS OUT MY LANE AND BEGAN TO TO TURN MY CAR INTO THE DIESEL I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE CAR FROM CRASHING AND THE THE CRUISE CONTROL WENT OUT AND I BEGAN TO GET A MESSAGE THE THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKING MECHANISM. I WAS WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING THE REMAINDER OF OF MY TRIP BUT I WAS AN HOUR AND HALF AWAY FROM HOME SO TRAVELED ON HOME CHECK MY BRAKES CONSTANTLY. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS MY WIFE AND I RATTLED. I TOOK MY CAR IN ON THE 6TH TO TOPEKA HONDA AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT THE CAR TRIED TO KILL ME AND MY WIFE BY TRYING TO RUN US INTO A DIESEL TRUCK AND HOW IT WAS BRAKING ON ITS OWN AND THE TOOK AND LOOKED AT IT . THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME BACK A STATED"THERE WAS SOME GUNK ON YOUR CENSOR AND THAT CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN AND THEY CLEANED IT OFF IT WAS FINE" BUT IF THE CENSOR IS ON THE FRONT OFF THE CSR AND GUNK MAKES IT NOT WORK SURELY THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE NOR WILL I ALLOW MY WIFE TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE.

THIS CAR HAS A LANE DEPARTURE MITIGATION (LDM) SYSTEM THAT HAS FALSELY ACTIVATED MANY TIMES WHILE THE CAR IS CENTERED ON THE DRIVING LANE. THE LDM ACTIVATES BY PROVIDING A WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD AND BY MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL QUICKLY TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT WHICH DISTRACTS THE DRIVER (A SAFETY ISSUE) AND ONCE CAUSED ME TO ALMOST STEER THE CAR INTO A SEMI ON MY RIGHT BY COMPENSATING FOR THE LEFT STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT. THIS CAR ALSO HAS A LANE KEEP ASSIST SYSTEM (LKAS) WHICH REPEATEDLY HAS STEERED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. BOTH THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN RECORDED AND PROVIDED TO AHM AND BOTH DEALERS. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN RANDOMLY ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. ADDITIONALLY, THIS CAR HAS ISSUES WITH RANDOMLY DISPLAYING AN INCORRECT SPEED LIMIT ON THE DASHBOARD (100 MPH IN A 60 MPH ZONE), FALSELY WARNING "STEERING IS REQUIRED" ON THE DASHBOARD, A "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING WHILE REPOSITIONING THE CAR AND THE ENGINE IS ON, AND THE BRAKE ASSIST/ANTI-COLLISION FALSELY ACTIVATING WHEN NOTHING IS DIRECTLY IN THE PATH OF THE CAR. ALL OF THESE HAPPEN WHILE THE CAR IS OPERATING ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.

HOWEVER, IN THIS CASE THE MESSAGES THAT HAVE COME UP (WILL ATTACHE PHOTOS) DEMANDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE ERRORS AND MESSAGE DID NOT GO AWAY UPON MULTIPLE RESTARTS OF THE VEHICLE. UPON ARRIVAL TO THE DEALER, IT WAS INDICATED TO ME THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF SOME OF THE OTHER ISSUES I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING WITH THE VEHICLE AND STILL (MONTHS HENCE) DOES NOT HAVE A FIX, AND THAT HONDA HAS, ESSENTIALLY, BEEN RESORTING TO TESTING THEIR VEHICLE ON THE CUSTOMERS, INSTEAD OF MORE RIGOROUS PRE-RELEASE TESTING, INSTEAD CHOOSING TO USE THE DEALERS AS A QUASI-TEST/R&D DEPARTMENT. I HAVE PERSONALLY BEEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AT ROUGHLY 70MPH ON A CLEAR DAY WITH NO VEHICLES IN SIGHT, NO ROAD CONSTRUCTION, STRAIGHT HIGHWAY, NOT MERGING ON OR OFF THE ROAD AND THE SYSTEM LOCK DOWN WITH THREE CHILDREN IN THE BACKSEAT. MOST RECENTLY MY GIRLFRIEND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM LOCKED DOWN CAUSING A GENTLEMEN TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID HITTING HER IN THE REAR END. ATTEMPTS TO OVERRIDE THE SYSTEM BY APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I ESTIMATE THAT IT TOOK BETWEEN TWO TO THREE SECONDS BEFORE THE SYSTEM DISENGAGED AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN TO OPERATING SPEED, NARROWLY AVOIDING A COLLISION.

WHEN I SPOKE TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THE SENSOR IS JUST SENSITIVE. THEY CHECKED IT OUT BUT OFFERED NO SOLUTION. I HAVE KEPT THE FEATURE TURNED OFF SINCE THIS HAPPENED. THE THIRD TIME IT HAPPENED WITH THE FEATURE DISABLED. MY SON WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME. WE WERE BOTH SHAKEN UP PRETTY BADLY. I AM NOW SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I HAVE BEEN IN A 75MPH OR MORE ZONE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND THE CAR WILL BRAKE DOWN TO 40 OR LESS IN AN INSTANT. IT SENDS EVERYTHING IN MY VEHICLE FLYING. HONDA DENIED A HONDA BUY BACK BECAUSE THEY DID A SYSTEM UPDATE FOR THE BRAKE MITIGATION SYSTEM THAT HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC YET. THE CAR HAD OTHER PLANS AND THE BRAKES COMPLETELY LOCKED UP LIKE IT WAS USING THE EMERGENCY BRAKING FOR COLLISION MITIGATION' BUT NO WARNING/INFO SHOWED ON THE DASHBOARD AS IT NORMALLY DOES WHEN EMERGENCY SYSTEMS ENGAGE. SO BASICALLY MY CAR DECIDED IT WANTED TO SLAM ON ITS BRAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY FREEWAY, NEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC, ALL BECAUSE I LIGHTLY TOUCHED THE BRAKES-- IT WAS NOT ABRUPT, IT WAS NOT A HARD PUSH... IT WAS LITERALLY TO TURN OFF ACC. I WATCHED THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AS THE SUV BEHIND ME WAS ABOUT TO PUT MY TRUNK IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, BUT THANKFULLY THEY WERE ABLE TO SWERVE INTO THE HOV LANE NEXT TO US. THEY BARELY MISSED ME AND IF THAT OPEN SPOT WAS NOT THERE FOR THEM, I'D LIKELY BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DEAD. THE WARNINGS SAY SOMETHING ABOUT SYSTEM NOT WORKING AND TO SEE A DEALER. THE SAME WARNINGS APPEARED ON 2/13/19 IN THE AFTERNOON BUT DISAPPEARED ON 2/14/19 IN THE MORNING. OTHER WARNINGS OF SAFETY SYSTEMS NOT ACTIVE HAVE APPEARED DUE TO ICE/SLUSH BUT THEN CLEARED WHEN THE SENSORS WERE CLEARED, BUT THESE NEW WARNINGS ARE DIFFERENT. AT LEAST TWICE, MAYBE THREE TIMES IN THE PAST FEW MONTHS, THE CAR WOULD SUDDENLY BRAKE AND SLOW DOWN WITH NOTHING IN THE ROAD OR IN FRONT OF THE CAR. MY BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY WORKED FINE FOR FIRST 2-3 MONTHS BUT THEN STOPPED AND I COULDN'T RECONNECT THE PHONE OVER THE PAST TWO MONTHS. IT SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN ONE SYSTEM/ELECTRONICS PROBLEM AND SEEMS LIKE THE WARNINGS APPEARED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE BRAKE NOT WORKING AS IF IT WAS MORE THAN AN ALERT BUT A SYSTEM (SYSTEMS) NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AT ALL. THERE IS NO HEATING ELEMENT ON THE UNIT AT ALL TO KEEP IT CLEAR OF SNOW AND IT'S LOCATION IS SUCH THAT IT IS RENDERED TOTALLY USELESS IN ANY SNOW WHAT SO EVER. BMW, MERCEDES AND AUDI ALL EITHER HAVE HIDDEN THEIR UNITS BEHIND ITEMS THAT ARE HEATED FOR NORTHERN CLIMATES OR THE RADAR UNIT ITSELF IS GENTLY HEATED BELOW A PARTICULAR TEMPERATURE TO AVOID LOOSING ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE IN A MODERN CAR AND I WOULD ASK NHTSA TO LOOK INTO WITH HONDA RECALLING ALL NORTHERN CARS TO CHANGE THE RADAR UNIT TO A HEATED VERSION OR TO RELOCATE IT BEHIND AN EMBLEM OR SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T COLLECT SNOW LIKE A SCOOP. IT IS A VERY POOR DESIGN AND IMPACTS ALL DISTANCE AND CRASH AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS PRESENT ON THE VEHICLE. COMPLETELY RANDOM AND CANNOT WILLING REPLICATE. 9/18/2018 DEALER IS NOW COMING TO PICK THE CAR UP AND WORK WITH HONDA ENGINEERS TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. THIS A A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT WILL AT SOME POINT CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO OPERATOR AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. HONDA MUST RECALL THIS FEATURE IMMEDIATELY. THE PEDAL FEELS BINARY LIKE THE BRAKES ARE EITHER ON OR OFF AND NOT SMOOTH AND LINEAR. IT'S EITHER FULL BRAKE OR NO BRAKE AND NO IN BETWEEN. THERE ARE STEPS TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO BRAKE SMOOTHLY. THIS HAS CAUSED BACK PAIN AND IF THE ACCORD I TEST DROVE FELT THAT WAY, I WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT ONE. I DROVE A FRIEND'S 18 ACCORD AND IT DIDN'T FEEL THAT WAY AT ALL. IT'S BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE NOW AND I TOLD THEM THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS LIKELY THE ISSUE AND THEY'VE JUST PUSHED BACK WITH "IT FEELS FINE" OR "IT NEEDS TO BREAK IN". I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART, WHICH I DID. THE CAR RESTARTED, THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE ONE BLOCK TO HOME. THE DEALER TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHICH I DID NOT DO AS I DID NOT FEEL IT WAS SAFE. IT WAS FORTUNATE I WAS NOT ON A FREEWAY OR IN TRAFFIC AS I MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED BECAUSE IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP UNEXPECTEDLY; FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND NO NOTICE LIKE BRAKE STOP LIGHTS TO WARN OTHER DRIVERS THE CAR WAS STOPPING. RESTARTING THE VEHICLE CLEARS THE ERROR AND ALLOWS THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL TO WORK AGAIN UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT OCCURS. BOTH TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED WERE ON WARM, SUNNY, CLEAR DAYS WITH DRY ROADS AND NO OBSTRUCTIONS IN FRONT OF THE RADAR OR CAMERA UNITS. YESTERDAY, THE CMBS FAILED TO ALERT ME TO A FOUR-WHEELER THAT DROVE ACROSS THE STREET IN FRONT OF ME AND IT SEEMS LESS SENSITIVE AT DETECTING OTHER VEHICLES NOW - EVEN WHEN THERE ARE NO ERROR MESSAGES OR WARNING INDICATORS PRESENT.

THE NOISE CAN BE CONSISTENTLY REPRODUCED AND EMANATES FROM THE FIREWALL AREA UNDER THE DASH WHERE THE BRAKE PEDAL LINKAGE ATTACHES TO THE BRAKE BOOSTER.

THE WEATHER IN ALL CASES WAS NORMAL (NO RAIN, SNOW, MUD, ...) .WHEN I VISITED THE DEALER AFTER THE FIRST TWO OCCURRENCES (WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THEN BACK ON THE CONDITION CLEARS) THE DEALER FOUND NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES OR OTHER PROBLEMS. THEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED A THIRD TIME. THE DEALER AND HONDA CORPORATE SAY THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT BECAUSE OF THE ABSENCE OF DIAGNOSTIC CODES.

THE NEW BRAKE BOOSTER SHOULD RETURN THE BRAKE PEDAL TO NORMAL, AND RESTORE A SMOOTH LINEAR BRAKE. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE 2018 ACCORD AS THE PART (01469-TVA-A24) IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND MY VEHICLE WILL SPEND OVER 2 WEEKS IN THE SHOP!!!

THE DEALER REPLACED THE ELECTRIC BRAKE BOOSTER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE MANY OWNERS ON THE INTERNET REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM.

BOUGHT VEHICLE NOV 22,2017. THE FOLLOWING WEEK WHEN COMMUTING HOME FROM WORK A LIGHT CAME ON WHILE USING DRIVER ASSIST SHOWING COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THE SHOP FOREMAN SAID TO TAKE A PHOTO IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. THE FOLLOWING WEEK IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN THE COMMUTE HOME WHILE USING DRIVER ASSIST SHOWING THE SAME MESSAGE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER THE 2ND TIME AND THEY KEPT IT A FEW DAYS SO THE FOREMAN COULD REPLICATE THE ISSUE. HE COULDN'T REPLICATE IT AND TOLD US TO TAKE IT BACK AND TAKE A PHOTO AND RECORD IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. HE ALSO THOUGHT OUR COMMUTER TRANSPONDER MIGHT BE INTERFERING WITH THE HONDA COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY. THE 3RD TIME ON THE COMMUTE HOME WAS A SCARY SITUATION WHEN NOT ONLY THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, THE BRAKES ENGAGED AT APPROX. 55 MPH AND WE THOUGHT SOMEONE REAR ENDED US IN THE FAST LANE ON THE FREEWAY. THANKFUL NO ONE HIT US OR US HITTING THEM. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER OVER 2 WEEKS AGO AND AND THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE IT ONCE AGAIN. NOW THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE FACT THE BRAKES ANGAGED ON THE FREEWAY AT 55 MPH. WE REFUSE TO DRIVE IT. THE DEALER CALLED US TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE THEY INSTALLED A RECORDING DEVICE WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS DIDN'T MAKE SENSE TO US TO SUBJECT ANYONE TO A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. WE UNDERSTAND THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE IT BUT SOMEONE COULD BE HURT OR KILLED. WE ARE IN LIMBO AND ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED.
