On Nov 7, 2025, I took my 2018 Honda Accord (VIN: [XXX] ) to "Honda of Gainesville" (Dealer #208034). 1. Recall Negligence: The dealership performed unauthorized repairs on the vehicle's fuel system (alleged fuel injector failure). However, while the vehicle was in their service bay for fuel system work, they failed to perform or even disclose active NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-858 (Fuel Pump), which is open on this specific VIN. The dealership prioritized unauthorized, billable fuel repairs while knowingly releasing the vehicle with a mandatory federal safety defect still present in the fuel system. 2. Safety Coercion: Service Advisor [XXX] used safety fear tactics to coerce the unauthorized work, claiming the vehicle was entering "limp mode" and would become inoperable/dangerous to drive. Independent diagnostic analysis (OBD2) performed after the service revealed ZERO error codes and no history of the claimed failure. The dealership fabricated a safety hazard ("limp mode") to generate revenue while ignoring a real safety hazard (Recall 23V-858). Associated Investigations: A formal complaint regarding the unauthorized repairs has been filed with the Florida Dept. of Agriculture (Case #XXX-XXX). I have a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 The issue started after getting my fuel pump replaced as part of the recall. While driving, all of the dashboard lights came on. Warning messages kept flashing on the dash. This car was driving perfectly fine before the fuel pump was replaced. When the codes are cleared, the car drives perfectly fine. The dashboard lights will periodically turn off but ultimately come back on and as a result, the car goes into limp mode. Coils, sparkplugs, breakers have been switched out and oil levels have been checked. When the car is scanned, the codes are reading a misfire with the coils but, the coils that are allegedly misfiring were JUST replaced. The car jerks while attempting to accelerate, and after a few miles, it goes into limp mode. I have tried every type of repair that has been suggested to me by the mechanic but the issues persist.

Evaporator for AC failing. This poses a risk for drivers not having property AC in different weather and is extremely dangerous with children. Issue was found by the Honda dealership. I brought this issue up with them on a previous visit after hearing a strange noise, said everything was fine then a week later it goes out and only blowing hot air into vehicle.

On 11/3/25 honda conducted the fuel injection recall fix. Prior to this, no warning lights were displayed on dash. 11/11/25 nine different warnings displayed on dashboard board. 11/13/25 at approximately 35mph the vehicle would not accelerate and the 9 warning notifications continued to flash. Cars had to go around me as I tried to find a safe place to pull to side of the road. I turned off the ignition. I took the vehivle back to the honda dealership maintenance. My vehicle will be there till tomorrow. I was informed code P0304 was present. Prior to recall fix drivability was not a concern and and had no warning lights.

So about 3 months ago all the sudden all the lights on dash board came on, everyday in the morning when I turn on vehicle on and start driving it does not go over 10 MPH even after pressing gas padel all the way, then I have to shut off vehicle for some time and starts back on it start running but lights still comes on. Honda repair shop told me to change Fuel Injectors which estimate $1,600. But at two different certified mechanic told me Honda Accord has problem with their engine getting coolant in the engine.

I own a 2018 Honda Accord that was subject to a fuel pump recall. The dealership replaced the fuel pump in July 2025 as part of the recall. Shortly after the replacement, all dashboard warning lights illuminated. I took the vehicle in for diagnostic inspection and was informed that the fuel injector and head gasket had failed. The estimated cost of repairs is $5369.69. I believe these failures may be related to the fuel system recall or indicate a broader defect in the vehicle’s engine or fuel components. I am deeply concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially since these issues arose immediately after the recall repair. I am currently unable to afford the repair, and I fear the vehicle may pose a risk to myself and others on the road. This situation has caused me significant stress and anxiety. The unexpected financial burden has disrupted my personal and professional life, and I feel unsafe driving a vehicle that may have underlying defects. I am frustrated that a recall repair may have led to even more severe mechanical issues, and I am left without clear support or resolution. I had no choice but to pay for the repairs out of pocket, despite the financial strain. I am seeking guidance on how this cost might be recovered—whether through manufacturer assistance, warranty extension, or further recall action. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate whether this issue is connected to the existing recall or represents a wider safety defect affecting other vehicles of the same make and model.

I have changed turbo, coil packs, fuel injectors, spark plugs, battery, fuel pump and my vehicle still give misfire in cylinder 3. Honda knows it’s a turbo and head gasket issue and will NOT do a recall on this for the vehicles. HORRIBLE company. Will never buy another Honda

The sunroof spontaneously exploded while traveling at 50mph. Was not a rock. The sound was extremely distracting and could easily cause a wreck, especially if the sunroof visor was open. Could also cause bodily harm.

My honda has 59000 miles on it not even 60k on it since we bought it. Have done all regular services an have done every recall is had. One more my husband goes to leave for work not even got out of the neighborhood an every warning light turns on car start shaking. I take it to my family mechanic who does all of our work on every one of my vehicles. An he said its the head job witch doesn't make since cause of the year an the miles on the car. An I bought it thought car max an got maxcare so I had to take it to another shop Prestige Auto Worksan they say the samething an tells me to go thought all this cause honda is having problems right now with there vehicles. So now it's been about 2-3 weeks without a car waiting to get fixed.

Backup camera has purple and green distortion that makes it hard to see what’s behind the vehicle when trying to backup. This is a permanent problem that can be inspected upon request. It involves a risk to myself and others by possibly causing injury or property damage. Asked dealership about it and they said it’s common issue and I would need a new camera. Not sure what caused it. It just happened one day and has been like that ever since for about 1 month. Contacted Honda Headquarters and they said they couldn’t do anything since there’s no recall with my VIN associated with it. Even a google search shows that there are too many others experiencing the same issue that this should be covered by a recall. It’s very dangerous to allow it to stay like this.

The paint on our 2018 Honda Accord is fading and the clear coat is no longer on the car on the areas of the hood, trunk and roof at this point. The roof is having issues with the paint peeling and rusting in all four corners. We have reached out to our Honda dealership and did not receive any help with this issue. This car is great shape inside and out except the paint issue. The paint should last longer and it should not be rusting. We do not want the rust to continue as it will soon damage our car.

I got this car April 2024. By December I went to the Honda dealer for the recall even though nothing was wrong with the car. After December, when I got the recall fast forward to February. My engine is stalling. I could be pulling out my driveway and it’s stalling. I could be going 10 MPH and it’s stalling. I was coming off a ramp and almost got smacked by a 18 wheeler because it started stalling as I’m coming off the ramp. It break checked me on 5th ave. I was driving. No car in front of me. But a car in the back of me. And it just broke on me. Out of no where. Almost causing the Mercedes Benz to hit me. Luckily they were paying attention. I keep taking it to my mechanic. They are seeing nothing wrong. They don’t want to fix something that’s not broken also after I did the recall for the fuel pump. Now all these lights pop up on my dash. Driving used to be fun. Now it’s getting real scary. I am going to go back to the Honda dealer and see what they tell me but I did look up they have to keep fixing it until it’s fixed. Fingers crossed. I can’t get another car and I also can’t keep driving like this. It’s going to cause an accident.

I was traveling at 55mph when the car lost power on the freeway. I had to make my way to the shoulder. I could only travel 10mph. I had the car inspected by an independent mechanic and Honda Dealership. I was told it was the head gasket. I am told by Honda it will cost $5500 to fix. I did some research on this issue and found it to be a design flaw due to the channels that are put in the engine block to pass coolant. I found this is a prevalent and Honda did confirm it. Honda denied helping to fix the car and even though they know about the issue. We purchased this car brand new in 2018 and we thought we had a reliable vehicle with Honda's reputation. Honda's good will program did not accept the case either.

This is regarding TSB 21-087, Warranty Extension for 2018 Accord Paint B-757P Still Night Pearl. I was not informed in writing as per required customer notification in 2001. The extended warranty was for 7 years from date of purchase with no mileage limit. When I noticed the paint peel on the roof seams on the left side and right side of the roof, I asked the local dealership today on 7/25/2025. They said I was a few weeks past the expiration date and I had to contact American Honda. While at the dealership getting maintenance performed, I contacted them via chat and they directed me to call instead. I called Honda and they said once the expiration date has passed, there was nothing to be done. I asked for good will and she declined. They will not provide email of incident, as per my request, from discussion but did open case and assigned a case number. Honda stated my only recourse was to pay for damage out of my pocket or wait to see if Honda will possibly extend the warranty and that it was my responsibility to contact them since they will not provide any notification again. So, my vehicle will continue to rust from the paint peel on the roof on a daily basis in the Florida sun. Or I have the option to pay out of pocket now and, if warranty extension approved request reimbursement.

All of the lights in the dash came on . We took it to Honda , at first they said it was the coils and spark plugs. I had them replaced , the same thing happened again the computer read that it was misfiring on one of the cylinders . They kept it and ran several tests . They then tried to say that it the result of a bad oil change but we knew better. After about a month they said that it had over heated and blown the head gasket . I ended up having to use my warranty and pay a deductible.

UNKNOWN. My 2018 Honda has all the lights on in the dashboard and I’m getting a lot of warnings as well. I took it to numerous mechanics and they all say nothing is wrong with the vehicle. The lights turn on and stay on for multiple weeks then they turn off but then they turn on again. On 2025-06-12 at about 3:50 PM EST I triggered a remote start command from my phone via the HondaLink app to cool down the car before leaving work. When I went out to the car it had not started. I assumed the command had simply failed, so I returned home and parked in our attached 2-car garage at around 5:10 PM. At about 6:30 PM I opened the door between the house and the garage and heard an engine running. The car was found to have spontaneously started itself. I do not know precisely how long it had been running. It took me a couple seconds to recognize the situation and the danger, and once I realized what had happened I immediately closed the door to prevent carbon monoxide from entering our house. I tried accessing HondaLink to shut down the vehicle remotely but the app gave a message "Services Currently Unavailable". In order to safely shut it down, I opened the garage doors, waited a couple minutes for the garage to ventilate, then quickly moved in and shut down the engine while avoiding breathing in. We noticed a smell of fumes in our house near the connecting door. Both keys were in static locations (not in pockets, etc. where the buttons could have been accidentally pressed). They had been that way since I got home. I believe that HondaLink's servers sent the remote command to my vehicle *significantly later* than the command was requested. This is a major problem and safety checks should prevent a delayed command from having an effect on the vehicle, especially when dealing with engine start commands. The carbon monoxide buildup fortunately seemed to be minimal, although I am again unclear exactly how long the engine had been running. The vehicle will normally shut itself off 10 minutes after a remote start. However, the most dangerous situation would have been if the car shut itself off and then someone entered the garage shortly afterward without realizing that the vehicle had been running.

The door locks are unresponsive using both the fob and the vehicle controls. The problem started with a rear door not locking or unlocking when the other doors would lock. Eventually all doors became unresponsive. The doors now require me to manually lock each and use my fob key to unlock the driver door and manually unlock each door. I've replaced fuses to try to resolve the issue with no luck. It seems that the door lock actuators failed prematurely.

The lettering of the gear shift and signal light/ wiper switches run off easily making it hard to see in dark places and at night. Bring that those switches are the most crucial when operating the vehicle the white lettering should be sustainable and durable making the visibility great whether driving during the day or night.

My vehicle has 101,000 miles and the head gasket has failed and I could provide the vehicle for inspection upon request. The problem has been confirmed by a Honda Master Mechanic that the head gasket has failed. The failure of the gasket caused the vehicle to cut power of the vehicle while driving on the freeway. A warning on the dash came up that stated, that the vehicle is limiting power to the engine.

At approx 10pm, vehicle was moving at a steady speed of 70mph on urban highway on New Year's Eve. Without any indication or warning, the car stalled/had loss of power for about 1-2 seconds and recovered and then about 1-2 minutes later stalled again and recovered. No dashboard lights ever came on. I thought maybe the clutch was failing again. I immediately got off the freeway to find a safe place to call for tow. As I drove to parking lot, my motor made a loud, uncoordinated, rattling noise which is towards the left side and near the engine cover. I thought it might be the serpentine tensioner because only the belt only had been replaced in May 2024. The rattle gets louder with high RPMs. After reviewing service records, oil change on 04/18/24 is the first mention of valve cover leak, and oil change 12/23/24 indicates possible rear main seal leak, residue around rear main cover which made me suspect gasket failure. The dealership denied the fault lies with tensioner or clutch and said the knocking sound is from the lower portion of the motor - possibly a faulty knock sensor - and the engine would not be disassembled to provide a more specific diagnosis. The dealership said a replacement engine is needed. No diagnostic codes or other specifics were provided. Dealership replaced fuel pump module per recall protocol. My and my grandchild's safety were jeopardized because my malfunctioning vehicle could have created a deadly traffic hazard among NYE celebrants who may have been driving distracted or with impaired cognitive function. In the past when my vehicle had stalled, it would lose power and I would have to coast off the freeway or to the side of the road. In those instances, my car created a traffic hazard & congestion for the vehicles behind me and toward the side that I was trying to exit.

Unknown Vehicle continues to display all warning lights on continuous jumping when driving. It took over seven months to obtain parts and took 26 hours to complete service leaving me without a vehicle. The damage received on the vehicle while waiting on parts caused more problems. Replacing the part after seven months of driving has caused my vehicle to deteriorate beyond repair in my opinion. I am requesting compensation or the ability to have a full inspection beyond the initial recalled parts in order to confirm that my vehicle is in proper working condition.

My vehicle will randomly lose power while driving, lights will flash and then car will just stop and turn off. Try to turn car back on and all these lights are flashing and engine light stays on with codes. Taken my car to performance Honda MULTIPLE of times, paid to get it towed, Honda continues to say they don’t know what’s wrong with it. I’ve recorded videos of my car losing power and given them to Honda and they still couldn’t provide any answers after having my vehicle for 6 months on and off. My car continued to do the same thing all over again after Honda ended up putting used spark plugs in my car and I returned my car to Honda again. They replaced fuel pump and I made it 30 minutes home and my car broke down in the middle of an intersection on the highway again and all my fuel was all over the road. Honda came and got my car again. Car is not even reliable to have my kids in. This has been the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned and no dealer will even let me trade the car in because of all the recalls this model has had and how many customers have complained. I’m at a total loss and now a loss of a vehicle I have to pay on and can get rid of it for something safe to have my kids in. I’ve only had this car for 3 years and the last two years have had the same continuous problems with no explanation. Honda just clears the codes and gives the car back every time they have it. I’ve had to call 911 to have cops come and block my vehicle on the highway because it’s broken down with me and my kids in the car and my car wouldn’t start so I could move it. Honda knows about the continuous problems and has record of having none stop. No lights or anything on prior to car just losing power and turning off or not going over 20 mph and going into limp mode.

Hi, I would like to address two issues separately for my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T 6MT; one dealing with the open recall and one dealing with how the vehicle operates dangerously due to poor programming under specific operating conditions. To add, I speak as an engineer working in the automotive space specifically on the design of ADAS and AV systems with ISO26262 and SOTIF in mind. 1) There is an open recall for my vehicle for a fuel pump issue. I am experiencing some of the symptoms of this issue, specifically, my car will hesitate at around 4000 RPMs during acceleration. I immediately back off the accelerator and then the check engine light flashes and I lose all engine power. I then restart my vehicle and it operates more or less normally with the occasional illumination of all the dash lights. I have taken my car to the dealership expressing my concerns (Braman Honda of Palm Beach in particular) and they said they cannot do anything about it unless since there are no parts. I have paid for them to diagnose the issue but since they cannot recreate the issue (as it is intermittent) they cannot do anything. Question: what is the point of a recall if a vehicle experiencing the symptoms that lead to the recall cannot be repaired due to "part shortages"? 2) I want to talk specifically of the vehicle programming to cut engine power off. I think I have a separate electrical issue that causes all the lights on the dashboard to go off and again cut engine power. I understand that engineers may want to design their vehicles to cut power off when there is a potential mechanical failure, but in this case the issue is purely electrical. The fact that I can restart my car and accelerate normally shows that the issue is not mechanical. I believe this programming needs to be addressed. To be frank, losing engine power while driving on the highway may lead to catastrophic consequences. I feel that my vehicle is unsafe to drive since it has happened to me multiple times already.

I am the owner of a 2018 Honda accord purchased from Hillside Honda in Jamaica, NY on February of 2018. In 2021 started to experience issues with my vehicle while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked, loss motive power, switched to limp mode with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle failed to properly accelerate while in limp mode. After stopping the vehicle, the check engine warning light disappeared and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer baron Honda located in Patchogue, NY for a routine oil change, and, to be diagnosed. The dealer informed me that the failure was caused by damage to a fuel injector that would cost approx. $2500 to repair. The dealers diagnosis of the fuel injector issue was incorrect and the dealer later admitted that the fuel injector did not need to be changed. At the time of the dealers initial diagnosis i declined repair of the fuel injector and just received an oil change. My intention was to get a 2nd opinion from another Honda dealership as the vehicle was 3 years old. Due to covid it was difficult to bring my vehicle to another dealer immediately & i would be responsible for the cost of another diagnostic. The failure subsided for a short time but than a few months later the same issue recurred. I then became aware of a recall to the fuel pump to the same make & model vehicle which the manufacturer informed me that my vin # did not match a fuel pump recall. While still experiencing on & off issues with my car relating to limp mode since 2021 I filed 2 cases with American Honda in 2023 & was denied. In December 2023 American Honda finally told me that my vehicle had a known recall to its fuel pump but the parts are in back order. At this time my vehicle still has issues with the engine limp mode that may/may not be related to the recall. I request that Honda remedy the issue. I demand either a full repair of my vehicle engine to resolve the limp mode issue, OR a new vehicle

COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM DEFECT On May 7, 2024, AAA tow-truck driver installed compact spare tire on right rear tire due to damaged tire. Drove 10 miles to tire store & orange-colored "Low Tire Pressures" dash board indicator light appeared. 4 new tires were installed. Drove 4 miles and parked car in restaurant parking lot. 1 hour later tried to start engine. Car immediately jumped in the air, all the orange-colored dashboard warning lights flashed in rapid non-stop cycle, downward slash (/) symbol appeared on "D" dashboard symbol, car had very small amount of engine power. THE CAR SEIZED AND WAS INOPERABLE. Called AAA tow truck & driver said he never saw a car so strangely disabled. Towed car to tire store. Upon confused inspection, manager said "It is your COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS). We think we reset system. Your car is under warranty. Return car to Honda dealer." June 15 2024, LTP dashboard indicator appeared despite no visible tire problem. Reset tire pressure indicator using dash screen interface. June 19, LTP indicator reappeared and I reset tire pressure. June 24, drove car to Honda dealer & explained CMBS seizure and inoperable condition, reoccurring tire pressure indicator & rough ride. Provided written time line of CMBS problem. Upon diagnostics was informed no problem. No charged for diagnosis. June 28, LTP indicator appeared. Drove car to Honda dealer and provided another written time line of CMBS & LTP indicator problems. Mechanic test drove, found a wood sliver in left rear tire, patched tire. Charged $149, service coordinator would not provide receipt & explanation of service, due to cyber attack, but required me to sign form promising payment and he would not provide copy. July 5, flat left rear tire. AAA installed compact spare & I drove to Honda dealer, provided another time line CMBS, mechanic found screw in tire, patched tire. Charged $39.95. ANXIOUS CMBS WILL ENGAGE WHILE DRIVING & CAUSE ACC

A loud clicking/knocking noise that sounds dangerous while steering the vehicle at low speed; such as turning into a parking spot or making a u-turn. The noise occurs throughout the day but is not constant. My vehicle has been inspected several times and Honda claims to not hear this loud noise. As soon as I drive away I hear it and all of my passengers hear it. This noise started at the beginning of 2023.

When turning and there is a slip in the Vehicle Stability Assist, it results in shut off and warning of multiple features, including: adaptive cruise control, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring system, brake system, electric power steering, vehicle power steering, collision mitigation braking system, and road departure mitigation. The issue has happened randomly (~8 times now, the most recent being 6/15/24), the first being less than one year after I bought the car new in 2018. It turns off after I turn off and start the car again. I have spoken to the dealer and reached out to the warranty provider, but because the car does not display the error message when I go there, the dealer refuses to look at the car. My guess is that it may be an issue with an ECU or the differential, as it results in the failure of many systems.

Dashboard lights: emissions systems problem, road departure mitigation system problem, collision mitigation bar along system problem, ACC system problem, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability assist system problem, electric power steering system problem, brake hold system problem, brake system problem, tire pressure system problem- every single warning and light turn on when weather is less than ideal (high humidity, cold temp, etc.). When taken to dealership they simply reset the system and all lights go away, but they always come back. Bought car in 2018, always been a problem, regardless of new battery. I take my car in for regular maintenance.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ve taken the car to several other places to find out that the repair guys are at each and everyone as if they know that my car is going to be there is very scary is very creepy. Every last one of them works or worked for the dealership that I purchased the car and had repairs done, my car has been keyed in operable. I’m having issues with getting it repaired to find out what the repair is. I’m getting the runaround. I’m buying parts and services for things and I’m still not figuring out what’s wrong with the car at this point I feel like I’m being targeted. I would like to know the name I have filed complaints. I’ve spoken to Jackie and she has not contacted me back or any of the people , that works at the Honda manufacture I can provide your proof I have some unknown trusted credentials that are popping up. I’m not sure if all of this happened after they did the TV broadcasting thing back in October, but I am very much aware that there’s something going on and I am unable to figure it out and these people that work at the dealership are not wanting to fix the problem because I’ve already filed several complaints with them, I just wanna get my car fixed or at least know what’s wrong with it

My 2018 Honda Accord has suddenly experienced a Backup Camera display issue. The glitch leads to a multicolored display to show on the display screen when the vehicle is put in reverse gear in order to back up. This is a safety issue since we do not have a clear line of sight when backing up using the backup camera. Please see the attached photo. Please note that there have been multiple reports of similar incidents on Honda forums online.

Forward Collision Warning feature On 02/16/24 I was traveling east on I-630 at about 60 mph. While driving at that speed I saw a foreign object in my lane but I could not swerve in neither right or left lane as there were vehicles traveling in both lanes when my car hit the foreign object the object became lodged under the car dragging it at least 20 to 30 feet the car lost power myself and passenger had to push car out of road to shoulder to keep from getting killed as it had lost power and would not start. The Forward Collision Warning feature did not alert me of the object nor of the vehicle’s traveling ahead of me nor vehicles traveling in left and right lanes along side of me that I attempted to avoid hitting. I had previously filed a complaint about the warning lights and malfunctioning features on the car to dealership on 2019 2020 and 2021 I was told it could be a series of reasons why the warning lights are all on and the car features shut down even the car losing its power I was never able to get my car on the recall list for this I filed a complaint with Honda Manufacturer 2022 and was told that someone would be in touch but no one ever called I took the car back to dealership tech stated that the cracked windshield maybe the cause of the warning lights coming on so I got windshield , spark plugs, battery twice, replaced all for tires twice kept scheduled services up to par warning lights still on in-car still losing power in the middle of traffic on 01/20/24 I tried getting appt for fuel pump recall dealerships states they donot have the inventory to replace fuel pump I was told when Honda manufacturer contact dealerships giving the go ahead to repair I will l be contacted fast forward to 02/16/24 this is the result of none of features functioning especially the Forward Collision Warning feature my car now is at a loss of use it does not start the oil panel was damaged the radiator was crushed the sensor dislodged and body was damage to vehicle

I purchased this vehicle zero miles from Brickell Honda back in 2018. A couple of years ago, with only (Miles: 51070), I started to notice that the vehicle's velocity started to decrease all of the sudden when driving it on the roadways and highways. To me, it was extremely dangerous, specially driving the vehicle on the highways because one time another vehicle almost hit me from behind. One of the details about this issue, was the fact that all the lights on the dashboard were turned on, and I was unable to turn them off. On [XXX], I took the vehicle to Brickell Honda and service advisor named Miguel Diaz told me that the vehicle needed to be repaired (Fuel system cleaning), but was was unable to explain me the cause of the problem. On [XXX], I went back to Brickell Honda and paid ($1,798.00) to get my vehicle fixed. However, on 2023 I started to have the same symptoms with the vehicle as before but this time I took the vehicle to Hendrick Honda in South Carolina to be evaluated. I explained to Honda Advisor named Jeremy Mann that I got my vehicle repaired in Miami back in [XXX] and now it was having the same symptoms as before. Jeremy told me that I needed to pay ($3,503.70) to replace the cylinder head gasket. I explained to Jeremy that the symptoms were all the same as before, and he ignored it. I ended up paying Hendrick Honda ($3,142.44 ) to get it fix. On December 2023 I saw an article online about a recall, so I contacted American Honda Motors. I opened a case with them (Case # [XXX]) and explained to them my situation and how much I have spent to get my vehicle fixed. On [XXX], I received an email from American Honda Motors stating that the case was being closed and stating (No Campaigns are available under customer's VIN related to either repair). The symptoms that my vehicle was having were the same as it is mentioned in the 2023 fuel pump recall and American Honda didn't do anything to address the issue. There was a persistent noise from the gas cap whenever locking or unlocking the vehicle. The Honda service shop stated that the issue was related to malfunction of the fuel door release actuator. The fuel door release actuator was replaced.

Began getting several alerts, when taken in to get a diagnosis I received the following error codes P0301, P0304, P0301, P0300, U0401-68 & U3003-16. These codes stated that I had Cylinder 1 Misfire, Cylinder 4 Misfire as well as Random Misfire and ECM Failure and Electric Parking Brake Control Unit Power Source Circuit Low Voltage. The misfires were taken care of with new ignition coils and spark plugs; however, 2 days later alerts came back on at that point replaced battery. A few days after that the alerts again came back on. The dealership has not helped me out much simply saying I am no longer under warranty. However, I feel this vehicle is unsafe to drive as sometimes it feels as if it is just going to shut off. Therefore, this can possibly cause an accident injuring either. Others or myself.

This has happened before and will have happened again (I am filing this complaint after some time has passed). As with a number of other issue with the 2018+ Honda models, Honda's response has been "take it to the dealer" while the dealer's mechanic drives the car for an hour, does not see the issue and then claims that nothing is wrong with the vehicle. The infotainment unit on the 2018 Honda Accord does not properly sync up with a music player on the phone over Bluetooth. This is manifested by the incorrect display of the time the music track that has been played. This happens periodically. At other times, the music player on the infotainment unit does not respond to the tracks been switched from the controls on the steering wheel or the touch screen. A video of the behavior is available. Additionally, he infotainment unit does not display the album art for the music which is being played. This feature used to work, until the phone update. Which indicates that the infotainment unit does not properly work with newer Bluetooth protocols. Upon an attempt to troubleshoot the issue, based on the information here: [XXX] [XXX] I was able to restore only the track information being displayed, but not the album art. This is troubling as this would indicated that Honda has built in infotainment units without a seeming path to upgrade them during the life of the vehicle. Honda has been unwilling to properly address the issue via a recall or a software update. Their typical response (to just about every issue) is to take it to the dealer, who is not able to properly troubleshoot and address issues which were caused by the Honda's failures in software (and hardware) development. In some instances, it seems that the ventilation system is potentially pulling noxious fumes in from the engine bay and in others, there seems to be an issue with moisture retention when AC is run. The vehicle forces foul smelling air in to the cab. Honda has failed to properly troubleshoot the issue(i.e. retain the vehicle for more than a few hours and try to understand if there is an issue with the ventilation system or something else). The issue has happened at 52305 and 52474 miles (as well as other instances).

The entire engine turned off on a few occasions, unsure if it is electrical or the engine. When coming to a light, as the car is decreasing speed, it turned off completely. At this time all the lights appeared (check engine, brake system, etc) on the dash board. While in the middle of the road, I placed the car in park, and was able to restart it. The lights went away from the dash board and the car continued to run like nothing had occurred. Luckily there were no cars behind me. This has now occurred on 2 occasions and it is a hazard for an accident. Yes, the car is available for inspection. No, there were no warning lights nor indication that the car would turn off completely.

The paint is chipping in different parts of the car. About 1 1/2 years ago they had to repaint the roof because of the chipping. The chipping is starting again on the sides underneath the hood and in the rear by the left side window. I had asked them initially to repaint the car and they would not.

The 2018 Accords have a system called "Brake Hold" which is intended to engage the braking system while a vehicle is stopped at, say, a stop-light. The intent seems to be to allow the driver to have their foot on the gas, instead of the brake pedal. The Brake Hold system frequently has an issue where it allows the vehicle to creep. This, generally, seems to happen in colder temperatures. Another, pattern of behavior is when the vehicle has been brought to a slow roll, then stopped (using the brake pedal) and as soon as the brake pedal is release, the Brake Hold system fails to hold the vehicle in the stopped position. After a significant delay, the Brake System is engaged, but the vehicles had, at that point, lurched forward several inches, if not over a foot. This indicates (just as with the Collision Mitigation System delays, discussed in other complaints) that there is a significant issue with the timing of the control system utilized in the Brake Hold, the sensor(s) or both, where the system fails to detect the conditions in real time and reacts in a delayed manner. Again, as with other issues on the later Honda models, Honda has failed to perform comprehensive troubleshooting of the issue (even after me taking the vehicle to the dealer as indicated by Honda. This is a complaint for a separately occurring instance.

In the multimple other complaints filed (regarding the Collision Mitigation System, Infotainment, etc.) it become obvious that Honda has really screwed up the firmware/software and how it interacts with the sensors/systems and the user on this vehicle. The issue, this time, was the common occurrence of the battery dying. HOWEVER, instead of simply putting up a message that says "Hello, your battery is in an untennable state", someone thought it would be a good idea to flush EVERY warning possible, as in "Anti-Lock Brake System Problem...", "Vehicle Stability Assist System Problem...", etc. And, of course, it would demand that you "take it to the dealer." Upon replacing the battery the issues went away, for a few days. Then, another set of warnings - this time, something to do with the "Emission System". Upon taking it to a non-Honda reputable mechanic (so, a third party without a conflict of interest), they reset the codes and then things seemed to settle down. Good to know - another thing that just "happens with these" when it comes to the Accords of the 2018+ model year.

I purchased the vehicle from a Honda dealership on 5/21/2022. The Multi-View Rear Camera stopped working correctly after only a few weeks of ownership. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the problem. I didn't take the vehicle back until 11/28/2022, due to the 3YR/36K factory warranty being expired. I also didn't purchase any extended warranty coverage due to the mileage on the vehicle being only 13,878 at that time. There has been a previous recall due to the Multi-View Rear Camera (Recall Numbers: K2G & V2F). The NHTSA Campaign Number is: 18V629. The information related to this recall states that the Multi-View Rear Camera may fail because of bad software. I feel that the safety of myself, other passengers that I may have in the vehicle, as well as the safety of others, are at risk due to the Multi-View Rear Camera not working properly.

The backup camera does not work. Currently it is a black screen when in reverse. It started several months ago going in and out, with it working sometimes and other times going completely out. Now it is completely out and does not work at all. This puts my daughter and others in and around the vehicle in danger when reversing. Honda has a "Rear Camera Safety Recall" for the 2018 Honda Accord, however it does not apply to my VIN. I was told by Honda to bring it to the dealer for a diagnosis. If it was not too expensive, then I could pay for the fix. If it is too expensive, then to call Honda back with the diagnosis and they would determine if financial assistance can be provided to make the repair. I have an appointment tomorrow to have it diagnosed.

My 2018 Honda Accord Ex-L 91,560 miles has an issue with the fuel pump/injectors while driving on the roadway and/or highway. My vehicle will come to a mid stop abruptly because it is not getting enough power to the engine from the fuel pump. This has caused safety issue to myself, passengers in my vehicle, pedestrians and and other drivers while operating my vehicle. Honda has been made aware of this issue and has over 650,000 vehicles manufactured between 2018-2020 with the same reported issue and has previously issued a recall for only certain 2018-2020 vehicles. Furthermore, Honda refuses to repair my 2018 vehicle under the recall for the same issue based on my VIN#. I have notified Honda of the inherent danger to myself and others and they have ignored the safety hazard and refuse to repair the fuel pump which typically has a life span of 250,000 miles or more.

Climate controls and dual climate control worked fine 1 week ago. However, as of yesterday (September 17, 2022), not only is the dual climate control not working, but I am NOT able to get heat from any vents after raising the temperature to 80°F. Currently the passenger's side vents blow cold air conditioned air, while driver's side doesn't. Moreover, air from driver's side vents feel tepid cool regardless of temperature setting. Winter is approaching, heat in the car will be needed to defrost windows.

I was driving on the highway at about 45 mph when the car suddenly came to a stop without my touching the brake ( It wasn't as if the brakes were slammed on: the stop was relatively smooth but quick}. When I tried to use the accelerator to speed up, there was no response. I was unable to pull off the highway. I'm not sure what I did next, but I think I touched the brake. Within about 30 seconds I was able to resume using the accelerator. I don't think this was operator error. I drive this car infrequently, and it operates differently from the Tesla that I usually drive. But I don't think I was the cause of this.

The locking mechanism has been malfunctioning. The key fob does not open the driver door and the internal button in the vehicle works sporadically. Opening this door requires a key. This has been an ongoing issue for years but is now at its worst.

1. The component/system that failed, malfunctioned, or is defective is unknown. The clinking/rattling noise appears to be coming from the cabin and the right side of the vehicle. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. My safety is put at risk each time I drive the vehicle. The noise sounds like a loose component or system; consumer does not feel comfortable driving the vehicle on the highway. 3. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer; a Honda service manager test-drove the vehicle on 8/9/2021 and compared the noise to same/like model; both showed the same noises. 4. No, the vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, even though the consumer made a request for the manufacturer (American Honda) to do so. 5. Yes, there were symptoms of the problem prior to the failure; the rattling noise was soft at first, but then became progressively louder.

While driving my vehicle at approximately 25 miles per hour on a cloudy day with temperatures around 55 degrees, I heard a loud bang. Apparently my sunroof exploded without any debris around. As you can imagine, this shocked me and caused a brief panic as to what had just happened. 1-When I would hit the remote to unlock the doors it would make a weird noise. 2-After a few days I started hearing the noises in the gas cap area and in the gearshift when I put the car in gear. 3-Shortly after that, all of the warning indicators on the dashboard began to come on at the same time-3a- Brake Performance may be reduced, then the automatic emergency brake came on when there was nothing in front of me getting off on an exit ramp; 3b- Brake System-Electric Parking Brake Problem-3c- Vehicle stability 3d-Safety support system; 3e-ABS Anti-lock brake system; 3f-Systems Initiating message while in driving and in park; 3g Failure to disengage the parking brake. All of the above issues have the ability to put mine and others at risks of injury or worse if not properly addressed! Thankfully, there were no injuries or accidents. I took it to the Honda Dealership and left it, The tech called and told me that I had a problem with the fuel induction and I needed battery, which does not address any of the issues- so I feel like no one is taking these issues serious which is a problem. I am sure there are some details that I have forgotten, I will resubmit if that is the case. Please do something to address these issues. This vehicle is only 3 years old and should not have these major issues. With so many complaints of the same issues with the same model and year, I am appalled that NTHSA NOR HONDA is taking this seriously enough to issue a recalls or open an investigation. It seems that our safety and the safety of others is of no consequence to you all! PLEASE ADDRESS IMMEDIATELY!!!

The door locks on my vehicle don't always work as they should. Often times only one or two of the doors lock and unlock, and it is not always the same two doors. I was told that the BCM recall would likely fix the problem when I took in for recall about a year or so ago. During my most recent trip on January 14, 2022, I was told that the problem is my actuators. After a quick inquiry I found that Honda has experienced this issue with this model before as well as other models. I wasn't aware that the locks weren't engaging for quite some time which meant that I was driving with unlocked car doors. There were no indicators that the doors were unlocked.

Supplemental restraint system malfunction which could lead to failure of airbags to deploy. This is a fairly new car and the indicator for failure of this system appeared with no prior collision, deployment of airbags, or tampering with system. Non-deployment of airbags in the event of a collision is a major safety hazard due to a randomly malfunctioning system. The problem has not been confirmed by dealer or independent service and has not been inspected. There is a warning message that appears that does not state what the issue with the restraint system is (electronic or mechanical).

While driving on highway bridge at highway speeds (65 mph) the sunroof glass suddenly exploded and shattered. The interior shade was closed, so no glass entered the vehicle. There was a loud bang and then wind could be heard coming through the sunroof. There was no apparent damage to the sunroof glass prior to this incident and there was no evidence that an object had hit the roof of the vehicle. There was no other vehicle in front of or beside this vehicle at the time of the incident. No object was seen coming at the vehicle prior to the incident. The hole in the glass was nearly the entire size of the sunroof opening. Pictures are attached. Had the interior shade not have been closed, this incident could have been far worse since it happened while driving at fast speed across a high bridge. A safety recall should be investigated.

I bought the car from a Honda dealer in Babylon, Long Island. I have interior entertainment issue with the car play and equipment, which I have been complaining for a long time and software update are being done only to specific model under same trim. I have the same issues as addressed in the Honda updates but my car is not getting updated. The last update was in April, 2018, as displayed in my car android version but the record with dealer says 2020 update has been installed and 2021 is incomplete. There is rattling issue with the rear speakers when I keep volume above 13.

I am leasing a 2018 Honda Accord Touring with dark blue paint. Approximately 1 year after leasing I began to notice the paint chipping off in the roof gutter rails in a few spots near the rear window. The paint chipping has begun to progressively worse and I notified the Honda dealership in Signal Hill, CA during a service visit. They gave me information to take it to their preferred body shop to fix and informed me that there have been a few problems with Accords paint peeling from 2018. I have gotten an estimate and am awaiting a response from Honda on whether they will cover the repair which is estimated at $1600 as they will have to strip the entire roof to fix. I would like this noted as this is a manufacturing defect. I live in Southern California and the car is inside when parked.

2018 Honda Accord had been parked for less than an hour while shopping. On return, entered car, put foot on brake and pushed the start button, immediate back pressure on brake pedal, audio warning of electrical system failure, messages on dash of electrical brake system failure (reason for this report), etc. Car would not start. Called dealer and they said to bring it in, there was nothing they could advise over the phone. Had the car towed to the dealer. Once there, first thing I was asked was whether the person who towed the car had attempted to jump start it. He had not. Service person said problem source was probably the battery which they said was drained, claimed there were electrical systems in the car that could drain the battery when the car was off, something I had never heard of before and I am still skeptical about. Car remained at dealer for a day and a half running diagnostics, etc. and they could find nothing wrong, even the battery, once recharged, was deemed good. Wife is now worried about driving the car and what might happen if the brake system failed. After researching 2018 Honda Accord electrical system problems online, I no longer have confidence in the vehicle's safety/reliability. Too many reports with no problem source determination nor resolution which is the category I'm sure this one is going to be added to.

Paint is peeling on the roof and the trunk. Talked to honda dealership and they submitted photos to Honda which said it was environment related. I took the car to an independent body shop who said it is a paint defect. The paint is peeling in multiple spots.

Car is driven in North east area of USA. This car stopped blowing cold air one fine day. On inspection from dealer it was assessed that Condenser was leaking. As per the assessment there was no physical damage. Most probably manufacturer fault. Car is driven only 30500 miles at time of reporting this incident. Single owner. Only commute from home to office and back and that too minimal commute during pandemic. No accident or impact whatsoever.

- AC compressor failed within 1 year. Replaced. New one failed in 2 years now out of warranty. - Very limited heat on cold days in winter. Must be driving constantly in higher rev (no stop and go) can't use eco mode. Dealer says it's "normal" but my Civic that's 7 years older has no issues. Seems to be the same as current recall for other Honda CRV models - HUD rattles constantly in hot weather, dealer refuses to do anything despite a service bulletin - Rear speaker deck rattles constantly with all styles of music even at low volume. Dealer has "fixed" twice but problem remains. Not of safety concern All concerns reproduceable but several dismissed by deal Yes, available for inspection upon request

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65 MILES/HOUR WHEN I BEGAN TO HEAR A HISSING SOUND COMING FROM THE LEFT MOST AIR VENT. THE SMOKE LASTED FOR ABOUT 45-60 SECONDS. FIRST THING THE NEXT MORNING, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 4 WORKING DAYS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT, AND INSTRUCTED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK TO THEM IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. A FEW MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE 2018 ACCORD, HONDA HAD TO PUT A SOFTWARE UPDATE, WHICH THEY CLAIMED WAS GOING TO ADDRESS AND ISSUE WITH THE BACK-UP CAMERA (WHICH ALWAYS SEEMED TO WORK FINE, AT LEAST ON MY CAR). SHORTLY AFTER THE UPDATE, THE INFOTAINMENT UNIT HAD STARTED TO RANDOMLY (AND RATHER FREQUENTLY) RESET ITSELF EVERY FEW DAY. HONDA (AFTER SOME TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REACH OUT TO THE HONDA OF AMERICA HQ) HAD FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AND, EVENTUALLY, BEGRUDGINGLY HAD ADMITTED TO THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, THEY HAD FAILED TO PRODUCE A FIX FOR MONTHS. MY VEHICLE STILL DOES NOT HAVE A FIX APPLIED AND KEEPS HAVING RESETS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH A 2018 HONDA ODYSSEY (WHICH USES THE SAME SYSTEM), WHO FINALLY GAVE UP AND GOT RID OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF RECALLS (AND, TO SOME EXTENT, VERY POOR HANDLING OF THE ISSUES BY HONDA DEALER(S) AND HONDA), BUT THEY HAD TO HAVE THEIR UNIT PHYSICALLY REPLACED. SUPPOSEDLY, THERE NOW A RECALL, BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (SURPRISE, NOT). AS IT STANDS, HONDA MAY HAVE USED A PIECE OF HW WHICH HAS A BUILT-IN FAILURE (THIS COULD BE MORE INSIDIOUS THAN JUST A SW FIX) AND IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS IT IN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. WHY CAN'T THIS BE DONE VIA A 'SIMPLE' SW UPDATE THE WAY 21ST CENTURY CAR-MAKERS DO? OR IS HONDA SIMPLY HIDING AN INEVITABLE FAILURE VIA SW UPDATE? ON THE NOTED DATE, THIS WAS YET ANOTHER RESET OF THE UNIT. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS ABOUT 27,500 MILES, BUT HAS EXHIBITED THIS BEHAVIOR FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES/OVER A YEAR.

2 ISSUES THAT I AM HAVING IS THAT WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THE RADIO GOES CRAZY ( INTERFERENCE). DEALER NOTIFIED AND APPARENTLY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG SO NO FIX FOR IT YET. THE OTHER ISSUE IS WITH CMBS IT FAILED 2WICE IN THE PAST 3 DAYS. CONDITIONS OF THE ROAD WERE GOOD, ( NO SNOW, NO RAIN) AND THE TRAFFIC WAS NOT HEAVY. BOTH TIMES THE SYSTEM FAILS TO OPERATE MID CRUSE AND SHUTS OFF. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO WORK IS BY RESTARTING THE CAR BUT THIS IS NOT AN OPTION DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY.

ALL LIGHTS IN MY DASH CAME ON, BRAKE, ENGINE, STEERING, COLLISION, ACCELERATION. I TOOK IT IN TO PRIORITY HONDA AND WAS TOLD IT WAS CRACKED SPARK PLUGS AND IT WAS FIXED. I PAID $260. SIX DAYS LATER SAME THING. SAME DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT IT. SAID IT WAS FIX, SENT ME ON MY WAY, BUT TOLD ME THEY WOULD REPLACE SPARK PLUG COVER. SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. NOW BACK IN THE SHOP FOR A 4TH TIME. WAS TOLD I HAD BAD FUEL INJECTORS. COST $1700, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $200 DEDUCTIBLE. PROBABLY IS MY CAR WAS BRAND NEW WHEN PURCHASED AND I'M UNDER 5YR, 60,000 MILE WARRANTY. SO WHY AM I PAYING ANYTHING IF IT IS A POWERTRAIN FAILURE AND I'M UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE HELP. THESE INCIDENTS HAPPEN AS SOON AS I STARTED MY CAR, AND I TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT DID. THE LAST INCIDENT WAS DECEMBER 5, 2020. BEFORE THAT WAS TWICE IN NOVEMBER BUT I WOULD HAVE TO VERIFY EXACT DATE BASED ON WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE I SERVICE MY CAR, AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS BEEN SUBPAR. IN DECEMBER 2019, MY CAR AIR CONDITIONER WAS MAKING AN UNUSAL NOISE WHEN BEING TURNED ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN THERE SAID THAT THE AIR CONDENSER WAS LEAKING. HE ADDED THAT IT WOULD BE A >$1000 CHARGE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. AT THAT TIME, BECAUSE THE WEATHER WAS NOT TOO HOT, THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS NOT A BIG ISSUE SO I DID NOT FIX IT THEN. HOWEVER, IN JUNE 2020, THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS BLOWING WARM AIR AND IT WAS A HOT SUMMER SO I HAD TO PAY >$1000 TO FIX IT BY THE DEALER. I SAW THE RECALL FOR HONDA CIVIC MODEL OF THE SAME YEAR BEING CLAIMED FOR THE SAME ISSUE SO I TALKED TO THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THEY WERE SAYING THAT THE RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO HONDA ACCORD MODELS. HOWEVER, MY BROTHER, WHO HAS THE SAME MODEL OF THE SAME YEAR, HAD THE SAME ISSUE SO HE HAD TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS WELL. I ALSO HAVE SEEN SEVERAL SIMILAR CASES WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER OF THE SAME MODEL MANUFACTURED IN THE SAME YEAR. I BELIEVE, JUST LIKE THE CIVIC MODELS, A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IF YOU GOOGLE "HONDA ACCORD AIR CONDITIONER', IT IS NOT DIFFICULT TO FIND THE ISSUE. THE SEALS AROUND THE DOORS, WEATHER STRIPPING IS COMING LOSE, SEATS ARE FALLING APART, THE RADIO AND NAVIGATION SCREEN WILL GO BLACK AND REBOOT ITSELF. THE COLLISION CONTROL SYSTEM WILL GET YOU KILLED IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL. I WAS GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT, HAD MY TURN SIGNAL ON. AS I'M MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 50 MPH, THE CAR THINKS I'VE FALLEN ASLEEP OR SOMETHING. THE CAR FORCIBLY TAKES ME BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND DOWNSHIFTS THE CAR WHILE BRAKING? SCARED ME TO DEATH. I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE A TURN SIGNAL ON. LUCKILY IT WAS 3AM OR I COULD'VE BEEN SMASHED. ALSO, THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL FLASH AT TIMES, NO ONE IS IN FRONT OF YOU. OR IT FLASHES LIKE YOU'RE ABOUT TO HIT SOMEONE BUT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING BUT FLASH. ALSO, IF YOU DRIVE ANY LENGTH, IT SYSTEM WILL STATE THAT THE DRIVER HAS LOW ATTENTION SPAN. THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE AT THE TIME. NOW, I'M THINKING THAT HE KNEW SPECIFICS AND DIDN'T SHARE.

ON 10/29/2020, WHILE CHANGING LANES, THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY CUT THE POWER AND SLAMMED THE BRAKES, WHILE FLASHING "BRAKE" ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THERE WERE NO VEHICLE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY IN THE LANE IN TO WHICH THE CHANGE WAS PERFORMED. THE RADAR SENSOR ON THE VEHICLE HAS PREVIOUSLY CAUSE A NUMBER OF ISSUES AND THIS WAS AN EXTREME CASE OF THE CMBS (COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKE SYSTEM) REACTING IMPROPERLY. THE VEHICLE DECELERATION WAS ABRUPT TO THE POINT OF POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE INCOMING TRAFFIC IN THE NEW LANE IMPACTING THE VEHICLE FROM BEHIND. HONDA'S REPRESENTATIVES HAD SWORN LAST WINTER, WHEN THE RADAR SENSOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED TO THE POINT OF CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE THAT CASCADED TO SEVERAL OF THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEMS THAT "ISSUES WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN." THAT WAS A LIE. CURRENTLY, THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA RELATED TO THE SAFETY SYSTEM IN THE CR-V MODELS: HTTPS://WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM/NEWS/2020/HONDA-CR-V-SENSING-LAWSUIT-SUVS-SUDDENLY-STOP.SHTML CONSIDERING THAT THE SIMILAR RADAR SENSORS ARE USED IN THE PILOT, ODYSSEY, ACCORD AND THE CR-VS, AN INVESTIGATION AND A RECALL SHOULD BE LAUNCHED FOR THE MAJORITY OF HONDA MODEL PRODUCED SINCE 2016. I WILL HAVE A 3RD REPLACEMENT SOON DUE TO THE SAME CRACKING / FRAGILITY OF THESE WINDSHIELDS. THESE WINDSHIELDS ARE INCREDIBLY SOFT TO THE POINT THAT THEY PIT RATHER EASILY FROM PEBBLES HITTING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND HONDA SHOULD OFFER A REPLACEMENT ON ALL 2018 ACCORDS WITH STRONGER GLASS. MANY ONLINE FORUMS AND SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS WITH 10TH GEN ACCORD OWNERS COMPLAIN OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE WINDSHIELDS. I RECENTLY FINANCED A VEHICLE THRU AMERICAN FINANCE CORPORATION VIA VANDERGRIFF HONDA (1104 W I-20 ; ARLINGTON, TEXAS 76017). SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE A RECALL REPAIR WAS REQUIRED FOR MY VEHICLE. THIS WORK WAS DONE AND COMPLETED ON JUNE 30TH, 2020. I PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ON JULY 1ST, 2020 FROM THE SERVICE CENTER. ON JULY 9TH, 2020 THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED AND STALLED IN A RESIDENTIAL PARKING LOT. I PHONED HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE GIVING MY VEHICLE ID AND LOCATION,THEREAFTER A TOW TRUCK ARRIVED AND TOWED TO THE VEHICLE TO RUSTY WALLIS HONDA. I WAS CONTACTED BY [XXX] (SERVICE ADVISOR) WHO INFORMED THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED MY VEHICLE FROM OVERNIGHT AND THAT "THEY WERE ABLE TO START MY VEHICLE". SHE ALSO STATED THAT IF THE ISSUE TURNS OUT TO BE THE BATTERY, THAT VANDERGRIFF HONDA WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE SINCE THIS PURCHASE WAS WITHIN 30DAYS. THE NEXT CALL I RECEIVED I WAS INFORMED THAT ISSUE WAS NOT THE BATTERY, BUT RATHER A "GAS ISSUE". AT THAT MOMENT I INFORMED HER THAT THE RECALL REPAIR THAT WAS COMPLETED ON JUNE 30TH WAS THE "FUEL PUMP MOTOR". WITH THIS INFORMATION NOTED THAT SINCE THAT WAS A RECALL REPAIR( THE FUEL PUMP MOTOR) THAT REPAIR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THEY WOULD UPDATE ME ON THE CONTINUING REPAIR. I WAS CONTACTED THE NEXT DAY BY AND INFORMED ME THAT A FUEL INJECTOR RAIL PART THAT WAS NEEDED IS BEING ORDERED, HOWEVER BECAUSE IT WAS SATUDAY THAT THIS PART WOULD NOT BE IN STOCK UNTIL TUEDAY JULY 14, 2020. ON JULY 15TH I CALLED INTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. UPON SPEAKING TO A GENTLEMAN BY THE NAME OF [XXX] WHO ANSWERED THE TELEPHONE. [XXX] EXPLAINED TO ME THAT MY CAR WAS STILL DISABLED AND THAT HE WOULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER (ASKING FOR A 30 -40 MINUTES FOR AN UPDATE FOR ME. THIS WAS 19 HOURS AGO. I SUSPECT THAT MY ACCORD CONDENSER WAS MANUFACTURED WITH THE SAME OR SIMILAR DEFECT. I PURCHASED MY ACCORD IN SPRING OF 2018 AT A TIME WHEN NOT MANY WERE BEING SOLD, WHICH MAY EXPLAIN WHY THIS IS NOT YET A RECOGNIZED DEFECT. THIS CAR HAS A LANE DEPARTURE MITIGATION (LDM) SYSTEM THAT HAS FALSELY ACTIVATED MANY TIMES WHILE THE CAR IS CENTERED ON THE DRIVING LANE. THE LDM ACTIVATES BY PROVIDING A WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD AND BY MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL QUICKLY TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT WHICH DISTRACTS THE DRIVER (A SAFETY ISSUE) AND ONCE CAUSED ME TO ALMOST STEER THE CAR INTO A SEMI ON MY RIGHT BY COMPENSATING FOR THE LEFT STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT. THIS CAR ALSO HAS A LANE KEEP ASSIST SYSTEM (LKAS) WHICH REPEATEDLY HAS STEERED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. BOTH THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN RECORDED AND PROVIDED TO AHM AND BOTH DEALERS. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN RANDOMLY ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. HONDA HAS REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO INVESTIGATE NUMEROUS, POTENTIALLY SW/HW - RELATED ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN MANIFESTING THEMSELVES IN OTHER PARTS OF THE VEHICLE. WHAT HAPPENED TODAY WAS A NEW SET OF SYMPTOMS, BUT WITH MUCH HIGHER SEVERITY AND NO OBVIOUS PRECEDENT. I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO DISABLE THE LANE DEPARTURE AND THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS ON THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THEIR ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. I BELIEVE THAT IS REALLY SHOULD MERIT A RECALL AS IT INTERFERES WITH THE SAFE DRIVING OF THE VEHICLE. 7/17/19. 2018 ACCORD TOURING 2.0 PURCHASED NEW IN NOVEMBER (HAS ABOUT 11,000 MILES NOW). I WAS DRIVING 65MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN CAR MADE LOUD CLUNKING NOISE, BEGAN TO SMOKE INTENSELY, AND SHUDDERED TO A STOP AND DIED. I WAS ON BLUETOOTH PHONE CALL AT THE TIME AND THE PERSON ON THE OTHER END HEARD IT AND ASKED WHAT IT WAS. I SAID I THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS ON FIRE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER JUST AS EVERY POSSIBLE WARNING LIGHT FLASHED ON DASH AND PROFUSE SMOKE POURED FROM SIDES AND UNDER HOOD. I JUMPED OUT AND MOVED AWAY FROM VEHICLE, SEEING A LONG STREAM OF LIQUID FROM UNDER THE CAR ALONG THE ROAD WHERE I HAD PULLED OVER. FIRE RESCUE CAME, ALTHOUGH THE CAR DID NOT IGNITE. THEY AND THE ROADSIDE SERVICE MAN ADVISED ME THAT OIL HAD EXPLODED EVERYWHERE, AS FROM A HIGH PRESSURE SITUATION. THE CAR HAS HAD ONE OIL CHANGE AT THE DEALER, PER ITS MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE, AND OTHERWISE HAS HAD NOTHING DONE. I DID HEAR A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM IT THE PREVIOUS EVENING--LOUD ENOUGH THAT I CHECKED TO SEE IF IT HAD ANY MAINTENANCE WARNINGS, WHICH IT DID NOT. IT SAID MY OIL WAS AT 60% AND WOULD NEED A B1 WHEN IT WAS TIME. AFTER MY CAR DIED, IT REQUIRED A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT EVEN TURN IT ON AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG, BUT THEY NEED A SPECIALIST TO COME LOOK AT IT. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT HOW UTTERLY DANGEROUS THE SITUATION WAS. IF IT HAD BEEN LATER IN THE DAY WITH HEAVIER TRAFFIC, MY LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT EVEN GREATER RISK. WITH NO OBSTRUCTIONS IN THE ROAD OR TRAFFIC AHEAD OF MY VEHICLE FOR AT LEAST A HALF MILE, THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATED FLASHING A "BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD AND LOCKED THE BRAKES CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO COME TO A QUICK AND COMPLETE STOP IN LIVE TRAFFIC. ATTEMPTS TO OVERRIDE THE SYSTEM BY APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I ESTIMATE THAT IT TOOK BETWEEN TWO TO THREE SECONDS BEFORE THE SYSTEM DISENGAGED AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN TO OPERATING SPEED, NARROWLY AVOIDING A COLLISION.

THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING WHEN I APPROACH A CAR ON THE INTERSTATE. USUALLY THIS WILL HAPPEN 1-3 TIMES PER 100 MILE TRIP. I NEED THE CRUISE CONTROL AND HAVE DISCOVERED THAT IF I PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF, THEN TURN IT ON AGAIN THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL FUNCTION AGAIN. PULLING OFF ON THE SIDE OF AN INTERSTATE OR EXIT RAMP IS HAZARDOUS. APPARENTLY SOME PEOPLE ARE PUTTING THEIR CAR IN NEUTRAL WHILE STILL DRIVING ON INTERSTATES, TURNING THE CAR OFF, THEN ON AGAIN.

AFTER STOPPING AND TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE THE ERROR MESSAGE WENT AWAY AND SYSTEM WAS SHOWING TO BE FUNCTIONING. 2 WEEKS LATER WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD I GOT THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE. AGAIN, STOPPED AND STARTED THE VEHICLE AND MESSAGE GOES AWAY.

I BELIEVE IT'S THE ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLATION ANC - ONCE THE VEHICLE WARMS UP 15 - 20 MINUTES THE NOISE STOPS. I FEEL THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY HAZARD THAT HONDA IS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT. I CALLED MY LOCAL HNDA DEALERSHIP IN READING PA. THEY SAID THEY HAVE RECEIVED ALOT OF THESE COMPLAINTS AND THEY THINK THEY HONDA SENSING SYSTEM JUST FREEZES IN THE WINTER. IT ONLY SNOWED 5 INCHES A DAY PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. BASICALLY THEY SAID IT WILL GO AWAY ONCE ITS BIT WARMER AND THEY HAVE NO FACTORY RECALL. ALL THE DEALERSHIP COULD REPEAT " WE ARE SORRY". I LOOKED ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND I FOUND 100S OF SIMILAR COMPLAINT. MY QUESTION IS WHY THEY ARE NOT FIXING IT? WHY THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL? WHEEL WELLS BUILDING UP WITH ICE/SNOW CAUSING VEHICLE TO VIBRATE WHILE OPERATING (LIKE OUT OF ALIGNMENT) AND HINDERING THE TURNING OF THE VEHICLE LEFT OR RIGHT BECAUSE TIRES ARE HITTING THE ICE/SNOW BUILDUP ON WHEEL WELL.THE TIRES WHEN COLD ALSO BEHAVE AS IF ROAD IS SLIPPERY, BOTH IN ACCERALATION/STOPPING EVEN THOUGH ROAD MAY BE DRY. THIS OCCURS IN COLD TEMPERATURES ONLY. DEALERSHIP STATES THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE OTHER THAN TO DRIVE VEHICLE INTO A HEATED GARAGE TO ALLOW ICE/SNOW BUILDUP TO MELT OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE TRAVELING 15-20 MILES IN SNOW CONDITIONS AND THE WHEEL WELL IS FULL OF SNOW AND THE TIRES ARE MAKING CONTACT WITH THIS SNOW WHICH WILL AFFECT THE TIRES AS WELL. NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN SHARPLY LEFT AND RIGHT IS DANGEROUS NOT ALLOWING DRIVER TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION NEED BE. TIRES APPEAR TO BE DANGEROUS IN COLD TEMPERATURES BECAUSE AFTER THEY WARM UP, THEY OPERATE OKAY. HOWEVER WHEN COLD, THE SLIP AND SLIDE BEHAVING LIKE YOU ARE ON ICY ROADS EVEN THOUGH ROAD IS DRY. THE DEALER REFUSES TO ACCEPT THE GLASS COULD HAVE SHATTERED ON ITS OWN AND SAYS THAT ITS DUE TO AN OUTSIDE INFLUENCE AND WILL NOT COVER THE CAR UNDER WARRANTY. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED SEP 18,2018. I HAD TO PAY OVER $1,375.19 FOR REPAIR.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN TO WORK THE CRACKS APPEARED TO TRAVEL LONGER ON THE WINDSHIELD.

THE SENSOR FOR THE HONDA SENSING SYSTEM IS LOCATED WHERE IT IS VERY VULNERABLE TO DAMAGE AND IT STOPS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY WHEN IT COLLECTS EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF SNOW. OTHER VEHICLES DO NOT HAVE SENSORS ANYWHERE NEAR THIS VULNERABLE. THIS SYSTEM IS PROMOTED AS ADDING TO THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE, BUT BECAUSE OF THE DESIGN AND LOCATION ON THE 2018/2019 ACCORD IT IS VERY VULNERABLE TO FAILURE. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATE CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO BASICALLY SAID THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM SINCE THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE LOCATION OF THE SENSOR. I THINK THEY WILL IN TIME. THIS SENSOR WAS DAMAGED ON MY NEW ACCORD WHILE DRIVING DOWN AND INTERSTATE HIGHWAY IN ARKANSAS AFTER OWNING THE CAR TWO WEEKS AND A DAY. SINCE IT IS DAMAGE, THE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE COST TO REPAIR THE SENSOR. I AM CONCERNED THIS IS LIKELY TO HAPPEN AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THIS SENSOR.

WHEN DRIVING MORE THAN 25 MILES IN A DAY MY STEERING WHEEL WILL STIFFEN UP AND THEN IT WILL RELEASE WITH A JERKING LIKE MOTION ( ALMOST SIMILAR TO A RACK AND PINION ISSUE IN AN OLDER VEHICLE). IT PROGRESSES THROUGHOUT THE DRIVE MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CONTINUE THE TRIP. HONDA HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS AND SAID IT'S THE WAY THE SUSPENSION IS SET UP, HOWEVER IT SHOULDN'T BE STIFFENING UP AND JERKING AS IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN. HONDA IS CURRENTLY IN POSSESSION OF THE ACCORD TRYING TO DETERMINE IF THERE'S ANYTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 17 DAYS AS OF THIS POSTING. WITH ALL THAT SAID, I KEEP ALL THE DRIVING SUPPORT FEATURES DISABLED. THIS STEERING ISSUE HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS DURING THE TIME OF MAINTAINING A CERTAIN SPEED FROM 25+ MPH. IT'S QUITE SCARY TO DRIVE UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. THE 2ND ISSUE I'VE REPOSTED SINCE PURCHASING THE ACCORD IS I ALSO HAVE TO KEEP THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM TURNED OFF WHEN AS SOON AS I REMEMBER TO DISABLE IT AFTER EACH STARTUP AS I'VE HAD SUDDEN STOPS BY THE CAR AT A NEARBY RAILROAD TRACK AND A HIGHWAY SIGN THAT GOES ACROSS A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN TEXAS WHICH I WAS GOING 45MPH. DUE TO THE FACT IT THINKS THERE'S SOMETHING IN FRONT OF ME AND STOPS THE CAR. I'VE HAD WHIPLASH TWICE FROM THE CMBS SYSTEM ALERTING THE CAR TO COME TO A COMPLETE HAULT. I'VE BEEN FORTUNATE THAT NO ONE WAS BEHIND AT THE TIMES OF THESE INCIDENTS, BUT ONE DAY I MAY NOT BE SO LUCKY.

I ALREADY HAD A PREVIOUS SITUATION WITH THIS VEHICLE WHERE THE BRAKING SYSTEMS ENGAGED AS I WAS ON HIGHWAY IN 05/13/2018, AND ALMOST CAUSED MY LIFE AND OTHERS BEHIND ME, THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE FROM BEING REAR ENDED AND OVER 18K WORTH OF DAMAGE BUT HONDA DEALER KEEP SAYING NOTHING WAS FOUND FAULTY! I HAD THEM TURN 'OFF' ALL SAFETY MODES CAUSE I'M AFRAID IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN BUT IT KEEPS COMING BACK 'ON'. IT YANKED ME SEVERAL TIMES WHEN NO OTHER CAR IS AROUND ME. THE BRAKING LIGHT APPEARED SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY SINCE I GOT IT BACK, AND IT'S LIKE THEY DON'T BELIEVE YOU. I LIVE IN ROCHESTER NY AND EVEN WITH VERY LIGHT SNOW THAT IS NOT EVEN COLLECTING ON THE ROADWAY I GET AN URGENT NOTIFICATION THAT CRASH AVOIDANCE AND ANY RADAR BASED SAFETY SYSTEMS ARE COMPROMISED AND NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. THIS IS DUE TO THE RADAR UNIT BEING INTERFERED WITH SNOW COLLECTION AS IT IS IN THE SHAPE OF A SQUARE CUP AND IT COLLECTS SNOW LIKE A SCOOP. THERE IS NO HEATING ELEMENT ON THE UNIT AT ALL TO KEEP IT CLEAR OF SNOW AND IT'S LOCATION IS SUCH THAT IT IS RENDERED TOTALLY USELESS IN ANY SNOW WHAT SO EVER. BMW, MERCEDES AND AUDI ALL EITHER HAVE HIDDEN THEIR UNITS BEHIND ITEMS THAT ARE HEATED FOR NORTHERN CLIMATES OR THE RADAR UNIT ITSELF IS GENTLY HEATED BELOW A PARTICULAR TEMPERATURE TO AVOID LOOSING ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS. THIS IS SIMPLY NOT ACCEPTABLE IN A MODERN CAR AND I WOULD ASK NHTSA TO LOOK INTO WITH HONDA RECALLING ALL NORTHERN CARS TO CHANGE THE RADAR UNIT TO A HEATED VERSION OR TO RELOCATE IT BEHIND AN EMBLEM OR SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T COLLECT SNOW LIKE A SCOOP. IT IS A VERY POOR DESIGN AND IMPACTS ALL DISTANCE AND CRASH AVOIDANCE SYSTEMS PRESENT ON THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A 2.0 TOURING EDITION WITH EVERY AVAILABLE OPTION SO IT IS NOT FOR A LACK OF SPENDING MONEY FOR SAFETY THAT'S FOR SURE. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAVE RECEIVED MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE AND ARE TELLING PEOPLE IT'S MADE THAT WAY AND FRANKLY THE SENSOR SHOULD BE HEATED IN NORTHERN CLIMATES. NICE!

I'M TRYING TO RATIONALIZE THIS EVENT AND I AM STILL UNABLE TO MAKE SENSE OF IT. I DECIDED TO SEARCH THE INTERNET AND IT APPEARS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO SEEMS TO EXHIBIT ISSUES WHICH I HAVE TAKEN UP WITH THE DEALERSHIP ON TWO OCCASIONS WHERE IT APPEARS TO SHIFT HARD UNDER LIGHT ACCELERATION AND EVEN UNDER PASSING POWER. ALSO, UPON ACCELERATING, THE CAR WILL SEEM TO BOG DOWN LIKE IT HAS A AIR INTAKE ISSUE(SENSATION FEELING) IT DOES IT FROM STOP AND GO AT TIMES AND ALSO WHEN AT SPEED. I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN IT RAINS IT SEEMS TO BE EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED AS WELL. THE OTHER ISSUE HAS BEEN THE HONDA SENSING. AS OF LATE I HAVE FOUND MYSELF TURNING OFF CERTAIN "SAFETY" FEATURES OUT OF FEAR OF THEM MALFUNCTIONING AFTER TWO FREAK INCIDENTS. TWICE WHEN AT SPEEDS ON THE HWY, THE EMERGENCY MITIGATING BRAKE HAS ENGAGED WITH NO TRAFFIC AROUND OR IN FRONT ME, BASICALLY SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ANOTHER TIME THE STEERING HAS TRIED TO YANK ME INTO ANOTHER LANE THINKING I HAVE GONE OFF THE ROAD, THE ROAD MITIGATION SYSTEM. THESE ISSUES COULD HAVE PROVEN VERY DANGEROUS IN BOTH SITUATIONS IF VEHICLES WERE NEXT TO ME OR BEHIND ME AND THESE ISSUES WITH A BRAND NEW CAR ARE NOT MAKING ME FEEL SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR. ALSO, ANOTHER NEW ITEM WHICH I HAVE CAUGHT ON CAMERA IS THE RADIO HEAD UNIT HAS NOW BEGAN TO SHUT OFF INTERMITTENTLY DURING NORMAL OPERATION FOR NO APPARENT REASON OR CAUSE. I HAVE HAD THE RECALL ON THE BACK UP CAMERA COMPLETED ALREADY. BUT THESE ERRORS STILL CONTINUE. THE CAR IS GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THURSDAY, 11/7/2018 TO GET THESE LOOKED INTO, BUT THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THE CAR HAS HAD TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE PURCHASE IN JULY FOR NON REGULAR MAINTENANCE. I AM GOING TO ONLY DEAL WITH THIS A FEW MORE TIMES BEFORE I HIRE A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD IN MY TOWN AND NO CARS WERE IN FRONT OF ME AND I DID NOT LANE DEPARTURE AT ALL AND THE CAR SUDDENLY CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ALMOST FOR NO REASON THANKFULLY NO CARS WERE BEHIND ME. THIS ALSO HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS COMING UP FAST LUCKILY THEY NOTICED MY CAR BRAKING AND GOT OVER. SOMETIMES MY COMPUTER SYSTEM SHUTS OFF AND MY RADIO AND MY WHOLE DASH IF FROZEN I CAN'T DO THE TOUCHSCEEEN OR ANY OF THE SIDE BUTTONS AS NONE OF IT WILL WORK THEY ONLY WAY FOR IT WORK IS TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. THE BACKUP CAMERA ALSO TAKES A WHILE TO GO ON I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND THE SCREEN IS BLACK AND I PUT IT IN PARK AND REVERSE AGAIN AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE.

IF YOU USE NAVIGATION SYSTEM OR NEED SCREEN FOR OTHER ACTIVITIES WHILE YOU DRIVING - YOU ARE IN TROUBLE, BECAUSE YOU WILL LOSE ALL THE CONTENT YOU HAD ON THE SCREEN BEFORE THE RESTART AND IT WILL DISTRACT YOU FROM THE DRIVING. AFTER RESTART SYSTEM IS VERY SLOW AND IT FORCES YOU TO ACCEPT LEGAL DECLAIMER WHILE YOU DRIVING! TWO TIMES IT JUST FROZE WITHOUT RESTART AND I HAD TO STOP THE CAR, TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND ON AGAIN, TO REMOVE THE PROBLEM. VERY ANNOYING AND ALSO NOT SAFE BECAUSE IT DISTRACTS YOU. ONE TIME IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS BACKING UP USING REAR VIEW CAMERA, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY, MAINLY WHEN I'M DRIVING. IT HAPPENS WHEN DEVICES ARE ATTACHED TO THE MULTIMEDIA UNIT AND WITHOUT ANY DEVICES BEING ATTACHED OR USED. IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT AND DAY TIME AND I DOUBT IT IS RELATED TO OVERHEATING. IT CAN HAPPEN DURING LONG DRIVE AS WELL AS 5-10 MINUTES AFTER THE ENGINE START. NO VISIBLE PATTERN HERE. OCEAN HONDA OF BURLINGAME DEALERSHIP IN BAY AREA IS NOT HELPFUL AND TOTALLY NOT PROFESSIONAL. BEEN THERE TWICE, NO LUCK. THEY DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE PROPERLY ALWAYS TRYING TO SEARCH FOR FAULT IN MY ACTIONS OR BLAME COMPATIBLE DEVICES ATTACHED TO CIGARETTE POWER SLOT. AMERICAN HONDA ADVISED ME TO VIDEO RECORD THIS ACTIVITY WHILE I'M DRIVING !!!! STILL NO RESOLUTION. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA 2. SENSORS ARE NOT PROPERLY SETUP BECAUSE IT "THINKS" THAT THERE'S A CAR AHEAD OF YOU IF SENSOR DETECT SHADOW ON A ROAD, ETC. CAR APPLIED BREAKS FEW TIMES WITHOUT A REASON. DIDN'T GO TO DEALERSHIP WITH THIS PROBLEM YET.

DIFFERENT AREAS IT WILL EITHER DISPLAY THE INCORRECT SPEED OR NOT DISPLAY IT AT ALL. MY HONDA DEALER CHECKED IT OUT, STATED IT WAS WORKING CORRECTLY. IT DOES AT TIME, AT TIMES IT DOESN'T. I HAVE TALKED WITH HONDA, THEY STATED THERE ARE VARIOUS FACTORS THAT CAN INTERFERE WITH THE CAMERA READING THE SIGNS. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS, ACCESS ROADS & THE INTERSTATE. IT'S INTERMITTENT.
