2019 HONDA ACCORD Forward Collision Avoidance Problems

Inadvertent Automatic Emergency Braking Collision Mitigation Braking System automatically activated even there is no obstruction while driving.

There is loss of power when accelerating and all the warning lights are staying on when the car starts which is disengaging all of the advanced driver assistant systems.

While driving my 2019 Honda Accord, after about five minutes on the road, multiple warning lights suddenly appeared on the dashboard. The emission system, brake system, power steering, TPMS, ACC, hill start assist, collision mitigation, and vehicle stability assist warnings all came on at the same time. The alerts caused concern for safety, as several major systems such as steering assist, braking, and driver-assist features appeared to malfunction simultaneously. The issue seems related to an electrical or charging system failure (such as the alternator or battery), since all of these systems rely on stable voltage to operate correctly. The incident occurred without warning and could have resulted in loss of steering assist or engine power while driving

I was traveling on a two lane road at approximately 40 mph when the automatic braking engaged for no reason, bringing the car to almost a complete stop. There were no other cars from either direction.

In 2 instances the car put on brakes for no reason. Nothing was in front of car. I was traveling roughly 70 mph and car slowed down and brake indicator came on, also going 75 with cruise control on and the system that brakes the car slowed the car down and then just quit working. Warning lights came on saying system failure but after car was turned off then turned back on there were no warnings.

The vehicle just arrived at the body shop and no diagnosis has been done yet. The vehicle is not drivable so the problem has not been reproduced. Vehicle has not been inspected and looked into yet, I am waiting for the body man to do a deep dive into it or I am planning on bringing it back to the dealership. There was no warning lamps present.

I feel like my car should be under recall it’s so many other who experiencing the same thing. all of my lights are on, on the dash. Check engine light down to my cruise control not working. as I drive it’s stalling and jerking. I went to the dealership to have my spark plugs and my fuel injectors replace and it started back doing the same thing. Spent thousands just to be going through the same exact thing.

Driving along at approximately 41 mph, CMBS unexpectedly activated for no apparent reason. There was no object in road to potentially collide with. Warning system barely activated before CMBS engaged braking very hard. Vehicle went from 41 mph to 31 mph in 2 seconds as recorded on dash cam. This is the 2nd occurrence in the same approximate location, both for no apparent reason & with no object in road ahead. Had an another car been following closely, this would have caused injury.

I bought this 2019 Honda Accord on June 30th from a company called Greenville Motor Company. July 1st, I took the car to the Honda dealership to get a diagnostic to make sure everything was in good shape. The technician I spoke with did notice the car & stated that it had a problem with the previous owner which was the Injectors. She told me that the light may not come on now but it may come on in the future. After I left the Honda dealership, I went to Greenville Motor Company & showed them the diagnosis I had done at Honda. He said he didn't see anything wrong. On July 2nd, all of my dashboard lights came on. Took it back to Greenville Motor Company, the tech there said I could pick it up July 3rd & drive it over the weekend. (basically he reset the lights so they wouldn't come on for a certain period of time).Within this time period I took it back to the Honda dealer & they told me that I also needed a turbo, they gave me the printout for that as well. Took it to Greenville Motor Company, they agreed that I did. need a turbo. Manager says he ordered turbo. I I don't remember the date I took it back but on July 12th, my dash lights came on again. I took it back to Greenville Motor Company July 14th, July 18th Greenville Motor Company called & said something on top of the turbo wasn't screwed on thats what was triggering the turbo code to show, so he never put on the turbo that he ordered I had it 2 hours & my dash lights came on again.

Lights go crazy in dashboard apparently due to constan cylinder misfires, spark plugs changed, same issue, fuel injectors and coils changed, same happened keep it getting fix and the problem persist, making the car dangerous to drive, since it loses power since the car it’s not able to respond and work as it should be Having engine, steering and brake issues, problem has been confirmed by dealer. It hasn’t been inspected by manufacturer. The lost of power and acceleration it’s probably one of the symptoms before all the light go on again. It’s been several times that this happens and I know for a fact that many people are experiencing this issues due to turbo or head gasket failure. Might get that inspected soon.

Yes it is dangerous A failing turbocharger can result in a noticeable decrease in engine power, especially at higher speeds. DIAGNOSTIC : Confirmed by dealership. The car was looked at the dealership mechanics nothing happened to where I need any others. I have documentation from John Eagle Honda to support as well as several others who are willing to do a Class Action Lawsuit in regards to the 10th generation Honda Accord 1.5 T and some of the other trims. I have a list of other owners like myself who have paid out of pocket constantly to get our vehicles fixed. My last straw for reaching out is when it stalled on me while on the interstate for the second time and almost getting in a horrible accident. Something has to be done, because at this point Honda has been called several times and acts if no one is reporting it when indeed they are. After fuel pump failed to open, top of this year my vehicle began to stall. I had the recall issue fixed 5/31/2024 by Honda dealer Staten Island. Just a couple days ago my vehicle started stalling again.

Car keep braking when I go under low bridges or shadows on the road from overhanging trees.

1. The AEB system activated on a clear road with no visible obstacles in sight. The car showed "Brake" message and braked by itself. Fortunately there was no car immediately behind me, so there was no collision. 2. While parked, with the keys untouched, the truck opened by itself. This has happened on more than one occasion.

The Automatic Braking System (ABS) engaged suddenly and without cause to engage. The vehicle is available for inspection. The sudden stop while traveling at approximately 40 mph startled me (driver) and could have caused a rear end collision. The vehicle was taken to the local Honda dealer. They indicated I should disable the ABS when using the vehicle. The actual ABS system was not inspected by the dealership or any other individual. There were no warnings prior to the occurrence although the dashboard displayed the standard BRAKING warning when the ABS engages. This occurred just once at which point I have subsequently disabled the ABS whenever driving.

I was driving about 45 mph about 10:45 AM. Suddenly, my car braked on its own. The message, "emergency brake", flashed on the screen. This same problem happened on August 2, 2024. There was no vehicle in front of or behind me. Neither was there any vehicle beside me. I am very concerned about my safety in driving this car. I have reported this problem before. On August 5, Honda dealership did a component diagnostic check. They said they found nothing. But this problem has occurred twice now. Something is wrong. I REPEAT: I am very concerned for my safety in driving this car.

When I am driving on the highway, sometimes my car just brakes. This has happened 7 times! I am lucky I am not dead, or I have not killed anyone yet. It will go from 60 mph down to 20 mph all of a sudden. I am scared to drive my own car.

My accord seems to trigger automatic brakes for no reason. I have noticed it happening primarily on freeways and expressways (while traveling at high speed)which is extremely dangerous. There has been only a single instance of this behavior while driving on a 35 MPH posted speed corridor. My latest experience was on 6/29/24 around 10:30 am. Contacted the dealership with the issue. They said they will call back, but haven't heard from them yet.

Honda is delaying the safety recall and because of that I am loosing money ! Honda is costing my business to loose money ! How this can be handled ? This car also ended up in the crash and now my car value is not the same and I am in negative equity

I got an oil change done and everything was fine brakes were good , battery , engine , everything . Then dashboard lights came on the engine light saying to take to dealer the. The ADAS system sensors popped up when I’m driving they will automatically slam on breaks if I’m not even close , now it’s having a hard time starting up

The car brakes hard while your driving and there is nothing infront of you without warning and hurts your stomach with the seatbelt. Also when passing over a train track the car beside me went over it and the rail got detected and made the car stop hard.I was with my girlfriend and she is pregnant and the seatbelt got stuck for a moment and since it broke over the train tracks and the force made us fly forward and the seatbelts hurt our stomach but good thing there was no accident or anyone behind me

Vehicle has applied brakes automatically for no apparent reason at least 10 times in the 4 years we have owned the vehicle. 2 of those incidents was entering a freeway under acceleration from a on ramp putting us in a dangerous situation. It did not completely stop us before it released the braking system. It has also happened when exiting the freeway onto a off ramp numerous times automatically applying the brakes when nothing is in front of us or beside us. Last time it happened was last week while driving down a divided highway with no vehicle beside me or anywhere close in front of me a car was behind me and had to slow down. My car automatically applied the brakes and slowed me down and would not accelerate for about 10 seconds then they released and I was able to accelerate back to normal speed. To not it does not slam the brakes on and lock them up but it does start to slow you down quickly before allowing you to accelerate again. In the wrong situation this could cause a accident or a string of accidents.

Automatic braking occurs at any time for no reason. This is extremely dangerous. I've almost been hit from behind a dozen times when my car suddenly puts on the brakes for no reason. I submitted this information to you several years ago and never heard a thing back. This system was apparently designed for people who drive impaired/distracted who shouldn't be on the road to begin with. I drive attentively and if I need to apply the brakes I do so. When I'm being tailgated it freaks me out because I know it's an accident waiting to happen if my car slams on the brakes. I can not turn this function off or disable it. (the date below is today as this field is required. It's been happening on average once every 100 miles.)

All warning lights come on and engine lags. Lights come on every time and lags about every 10th time driven.

On Thursday November 16th at around 8:00 am I was driving down La Cienega Blvd going around 30-40 mph. I was about to pass a green light when my 2019 Honda accord sport started showing the brake signal on my dash. My car suddenly brakes and comes to a complete stop by itself in the middle of the road. There were no cars in front or on either side of me, no potholes or anything of that matter that would’ve caused this to happen. I am now suffering with severe neck and shoulder pain from this unexpected incident. My 1 year was also in the car with me. My car is now being inspected at the Honda dealership where it was purchased.

I was highway driving when suddenly a brake light flashed on and off and car came to an immediate stop (then go). There was no use of the brake pedal, nothing ahead of me - and fortunately no one behind be which could have resulted in a serious crash, Safety was a major risk!! Husband checked fluid, car is now "awaiting" inspection at a reputable diagnostic service location. Read an article about these similar defects/complaints, but the Honda dealership claims there have been no like incidents, complaints or concerns. I read otherwise that indicated such events were under investigation (CNN Wire Feb 27,2002). When I called another dealership, they explained that there were not enough complaints to warrant a (safety recall). I beg to disagree!! Today's date is 11/04/2023. Thank you.

Since may or June of 2023 my car has automatically breaked at random times without coming close to anything. It has happened approximately 5 times, 3 times on the freeway when I was going anywhere from 40/70 miles an hour and twice on side streets going less then 20 miles an hour. It has caused me to think I was getting rear ended due to the brakes slamming for no reason.

My car will be driving down the road and all my lights will come on and go to fix the problem and they all come back on . I’ve had the car for two years and been in the shop majority of the time . First the front senor was bumped out so none of my safety equipment on the car did not work , all my lights where lit up and check engine was blinking and went to take to Honda dealership and they said they tightened the bolts and car is running good and I picked it up and 15 miles later all my lights came on blinking , this has been ongoing and I know online the years 2018-2021 have has similar problems. I have a warranty but I want to get this checked out for others as well

We were driving on I 75 southbound just north of Knoxville. We were in high speed lane going 60 mph (adaptive cruise control and front collision mitigation systems were on). We were on cruise, and had been for many miles. Our cars adaptive system had slowed us to 60 mph due to traffic, and again this had been for several miles. The cars braking system suddenly brought the car to a stop. I swerved to left to get in median and floored the gas peddle to get out of the way of traffic behind me but nothing worked. The car came to a complete stop in seconds. Again in high traffic in the fast lane of interstate. It was a clear, beautiful day. Luckily the 3 vehicles behind me were able to swerve and brake in order not to hit us. If it had been a semi behind us…. We would not have had a chance.

I was driving 40 mph on a street when the car's break suddenly went on and the car stopped. There wasn't another car in front of me, no animals or birds were crossing my path, the car just braked and then stopped. The car then started moving again after I pressed down on the accelerator.

When I was driving down the road with no cars or no object in the road at all the emergency brake system came on (slamming brakes on) I had seat belt on and it still threw me forward a good bit until seat belt caught. A car behind me thankfully was able to brake and not hit me. This has not been reported it the dealership. The emergency brake light did come on and flash as the car braked its self. I have had the emergency brake light come on many times over the 3 years I have had it(starting from the beginning of ownership) but this is the first time it actually braked the car. The light come on frequently and never is anything in front of me.

Every single dash warning light is showing up on my car and I've had it looked at and claimed to be fixed but it has popped back up and I'm unaware of the problem and it's been this way since I've bought my car and I've read online a few others have had this problem

Car breaks unexpectedly while driving . It’s will break on its own 3-4 times in a row. I was able To Avoid 3 accidents due to the cars around me giving me space . I will take the car in to be inspected

Radio fails to start when turn the vehicle on. If the radio does start it will shut off while driving. When this happens the forward collision alert fails.

I started my car this morning and I got a message saying Supplemental Passenger Error contact the dealer. Also, this car once a week will brake like if another car is in front of me on a busy highway I travel going home from work. This will cause someone to have a heartache especially when there is a big rig coming at speed behind you. Please look into these problems!

Braked auromatically on highway at 65mph due to flying bag in front of car. Very dangerous! Thank God no one was behind us.

I have had several times where the "BRAKE" alert comes on the dash and the car brakes and will not excel. Note.. this happens when there is absolutely NOTHING in front of me. This is apparently a common issue as I am seeing that many people have reported this. I have reached out to my dealer with this however, because it does it when it wants to and not all the time, they have not been able to see it happen or know why.

Travelling at approximately 47 mph, with nothing in front of me, the car's emergency braking system engaged completely unexpectedly, slamming my car to a stop. This caused a pick-up truck, to hit me from behind. The emergency brake light appeared at the exact same time as the car's emergency brakes applied. The driver of the other car confirmed there was nothing in front of me. The Honda dealer where I brought the car the next day stated there was nothing wrong with the camera or radar system. This failure caused an accident, and could have been much worse.

I saw that this is already under investigation by nhtsa and want to add my name to the list. The car randomly brakes at times for no reason which I find extremely dangerous. It's never caused an accident for me, but I've had at least a dozen near misses of being rear-ended. I've tried to turn off the automatic braking but it still randomly slams on the brakes by itself. 2019 Honda Accord LX I purchased this car late September in 2022 from Mclarty Honda in Little Rock, Ar with less than 25,000 miles. To date the brakes have locked up multiple times on my way to work for no reason whatsoever and I have a witness to every time. I would be driving down hwy46 headed to Sheridan, Ar and the brakes would engage for no reason and completely stop my car in the middle of the road. Nothing would be in the road for it to sense/detect or whatever to even need to apply the brakes. I recorded a video of the brakes smoking like my car was on fire just yesterday morning when i got to work. I’ve called the dealership multiple times and they have no response or reason for why my car is doing this, I have even scheduled it to be repaired two times and the dealership hasn’t been able to fix the problem and it pisses me off they are even able to sell such a piece of shit vehicle. The dealership along with honda should be held accountable, apparently they have known about this issue since 2015 and yet to do anything to correct the issue just swept it under the rug and left the consumer to deal with their problems. Whats even worse is Congress has made it a law that new vehicles are required to have this worthless piece of technology installed on each vehicle, smh like they have any clue what the American people want or need lol and why is it taking so long for NHSTA to get a response from Honda? This is ridiculous and the people who are in charge need to get off their butt and get something done for the people instead of their pocketbook. Real talk

We own a Honda Accord with approximately 39,405 miles on it when we took it to the Bob Howard Honda Dealership located at 13201 North Kelley Oklahoma City, OK 73131 for repair/diagnosis on August 25, 2022. The failure of the Honda included every sensor displaying in the vehicle from emission to lane change, etc. The dealership stated that the only code they noticed was a low fuel pressure but there was no issue other than that and these new cars are sensitive to low gas in vehicles which they felt contributed to every emergency sensor warning displayed with safety issues. We picked vehicle back up and on August 27, 2022, my wife was stranded cause the vehicle just stopped and would not start again with the same codes as before. Just quit running while driving which was very unsafe for my wife. It took well over 3 hours waiting for vehicle to be towed cause HONDA doesn't have a shift release easily accessible on their ACCORD models when vehicle is unable to start and to be put in neutral cause it won't start. We had vehicle towed back to Bob Howard Honda and on Monday, August 29, 2022 they stated it needed a fuel pump which would cost around $1007.00. However, the fuel pumps are on back order with no timeframe for delivery and the warranty for this vehicle expired apparently at 36,000 miles. First off fuel pump should not have failed this soon for a brand new Honda Accord or any vehicle for that matter. This is a failure in manufacturing.

Driving my 2019 Honda Accord on major Interstate at night when car suddenly brakes hard at 75 mph with no other vehicles or oblects around. The car's AEB/CMBS systems were on at the time of the hard breaking which occured twice with 3 minutes of each other. I was fortuanate no vehicles were behind us because we could have been seriously rear ended. For the past 3 years my car has started breaking on it’s own when there is no reason to. There are no cars or anything in front of me. The automatic braking system malfunctioned and started to brake for no reason, with no car in front and/or no other safety risk. Luckily there was no car behind me which most likely would have resulted in a rear end collision; which put myself and other at risk. The warning lamp on my dash was flashing brake as the vehicle was braking. I am afraid to drive the car due to safety concerns.

For wheels tpms system warning keeps turning on stating I have low tire pressure. I would check tire pressure and it is normal 33-34psi which is the recommended tire pressure by Honda. I would recalibrate the tpms and it would turn back on after driving 20 miles. I do this daily and honda dealers claim there is no issue. When I turn on a curving road if there are cars parked on the street the emergency brake system would turn on and start braking.

AEB was applied three times without need since I have owned the car (purchased used in May 2022). All three times were not warranted and I was nearly rear ended once. First time occurred while merging onto a highway. The AEB system appeared to confuse the concrete dividing wall (which ends at the merge point) and braked unexpectedly. I was nearly rear ended. Second instance occurred while traveling at highway speed on a two lane freeway. I was in the left lane and a vehicle in the right lane began to slowly approach the dividing line (never crossed) and the AEB system activated. Third instance occurred when changing lanes on a two lane highway (right lane to left lane). Car braked suddenly for no reason. It appeared to confuse a large black patch (fresh road repair) in the middle of the road with an obstruction. No other cars were present.

There have been two incidents where my 2019 Honda Accord braked extremely hard and it was out of my control. The first incident was while I was exiting a highway on a rainy night at approximately 30mph, I had cars behind me that had to brake extremely hard due to my braking system which could have caused a rear end collision. The second incident was while I was driving approximately 50mph on a small two lane highway, I had other cars behind that had to swerve to avoid a collision once again. My car also detects many crack repairs on the highway as lane lines and attempts to depart the actual lane. I have to force the steering wheel to stay in the accurate lane. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe driving my own car.

My Honda Accord has randomly started breaking by itself. I was not pressing the brake just the gas as I was driving and it wouldn’t go as I pressed the gas again . The dash flicked off and came back on and it allowed me to go as I pressed the gas . This could result in a bad accident if it happens on the freeway at 60+ mph. I’m very nervous to drive this car as I have 2 children in it often as well. Please make other 2019 Honda Accord owners known as well as this could happen to them too.

Today, April 23, at around 12 pm, I was driving through my neighborhood, on a straight line at about 25 mhp with clear view no obstacles in sight keeping my foot on the gas pedal, when suddenly the car applied the emergency breaking, with flashing indication on the dashboard that said BREAK. It was a very rough yank. It's something I would expect at a near collision situation. But there wasn't anything ahead of my car in hundreds of feet. I believe the automatic emergency breaking misfired. I am very concerned about driving with it engaged now, so I have to turn it off every time I start my car. There is no way to turn it off permanently.

When I make a turn left or right even the slightest turn on the road and no matter the speed the Traction Control lights up And immediately at the same time the breaks are applied automatically by the car itself, making my car slow down thus putting me in danger of being hit by the car(s) behind me. Then, all the warning lights start to appear on the dashboard. And they stay on for about 30 - 40 mins then they disappear but themselves. Stopping the car and turning it back on doesn't make them disappear. I've taken the car to the deanship and they said it was the alignment of the tires and that they fixed it but as soon as I drove off the dealership it happened again. I happens every single time I drive. I'm afraid to take the freeway because the self breaking system is so abrupt that it's a miracle that I've not been hit by another yet. I've had this issue since at least 25th of January of this year 2022. For a car to apply breaks by itself because I'm making a slight turn is dangerous and it's only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured or worse. I was scared today because I was going 27miles an hour on a regular street when the car applied breaks by itself and the car behind me honked at me. But I never even touched the break paddle. Please take this issue seriously, it's very dangerous to drive like this.

The braking force was strong enough to lurch me forward and in the process of the vehicle braking, my steering wheel veered to the left and I almost hit a divided barrier. This is the second time in a year my car has done this, but the first time that the braking changed the vehicle’s direction.

I continue to have intermittent instances of "phantom braking" during highway driving when there is no vehicle near me in front. I am driving at 70 mph when the car suddenly slows and the red BRAKE warning flashes on my dashboard. It does not happen often, but once is all it takes for an accident. I have reported this to my Honda dealer over the few years I have had the car. I reported this to you a couple of years ago and am reporting it again after reading recently that your are investigating my model for the problem.

This is a follow up for NHTSA complaint 11452424. After the engine light came on along with other warning lights, like a Christmas tree and taking the vehicle to a Honda dealership with a almost 3700.00 repair bill for a vehicle with with under 88,000 miles. The dealership said the vehicle needed a head gasket. The problem is the dealership did not provide the error code numbers. They just gave a price due too coolant going into cylinder number 3. I asked the service rep for a break down the for repairs, which he said was provided. The only thing provided was coolant leaking into cylinder 3 with no codes that the dealership found with the engine light on. I filed a complaint with Honda to off set the repair cost. Mind you we are talking about a head gasket. Honda denied the claim and referred to lack of maintenance. When I told the representative I do my maintenance. He said it was because the dealership wasn’t making money. Who in their right mind would pay 144.00 an hour maintenance when they can’t be up front and provide codes that were thrown on engine light for repair bill. I think NHTSA needs to investigate Honda’s technical service bulletins regarding cylinder misfires in 1,2,3 and 4. I am quite skeptical that a dealership can not list error codes on a repair estimate that they aren’t hiding something. My family will never purchase another Honda and I will share this Story with everyone I know. Something is being hidden if the dealership doesn’t provide error codes. I have never seen this in my 30 plus years of driving.

The ADAS lights indacstor turn on the freeway while driving, the brake system ligth came on and the car start braking while driving several times The problem happend 5 times on 4 weeks, i took the car to the dealer they replace the brake switch but the problem still coming up days after, now the brake ligths are always on even when nobody is pressing the brake pedal.

When my 2019 Honda Accord Sport makes high speed changes, the brakes will automatically start aggressive braking enough to cause a rear end collision. Driving on the interstate and no cars in front of me and then suddenly the braking system aggressively brakes the car. Very dangerous.

I would like to add a comment on the "phantom braking" as I have experienced it with my car several times. I am glad to see a formal investigation has been launched. I think a way to try and replicate this issue is to attempt to pass another vehicle (that is in the adjacent lane) BUT ensuring you are doing this on a curved road way. ...At some point the Accord gets "confused" when it looks liked it is "lined up" behind the other vehicle in the adjacent lane. It is real.. Please find a solution and bring this to a resolution. Feel free to contact me for further explanation. I cannot recall the exact date this incident has happened to me; hence I am putting in today's date.

On at least 2 occasions the AEB was triggered when there was no object or vehicles present in the lane. The first observed incident occurred while on a highway onramp, the road in front was empty when the brakes suddenly engaged violently. The second incident happened on the highway. I was in the left lane, Adaptive Cruise Control was engaged, Lane Keeping Assist was turned off

Concern was reported to dealership 2x. Sudden breaking on freeway at 55+ mph. Since June 2019, this has happened approx. 5 times. Most recently, Feb 2022, night driving approx. 55 mph on freeway suddenly rectangle breaking alert & sound on dash with car self breaking. There was a car 3 lengths behind and luckily didn't cause an accident. Each time, grateful there was no accident. 3 of the 5 times it was at night and 2 times during the day. 4 of 5 was 55mph and 1 time <45 (non-freeway) I believe the camera is getting confused with the lines/grooves on the pavement. This is dangerous.

I regularly had issues with the automatic braking system. On 11/2/2020 I was driving on the highway and the braking system automatically engaged, causing me to swerve and hit a semi-truck. This resulted in a total loss to the vehicle and ongoing back pain.

The automatic break system activated for a fraction of a second several times, the breaking system alerted in the dashboard. The vehicle has not been addressed. It cause a scary reaction of driver.

At two different times on a heavily traveled, high-speed road, the dashboard crash warning activated even though no other vehicle or obstacle was in the vicinity. The car did not slow a great amount or come to a stop; but had it done so, I could easily have been rear-ended by another vehicle. I have not asked that a dealer, independent service center, or Honda check this. Until recently reading of the NHTSA investigation, I assumed my car had experienced an isolated glitch that would be difficult to identify. The incident date entered on this report is not accurate. I do not recall the dates, which were sometime during 2020 and 2021.

Vehicle will brake suddenly even if nothing in front. it has done this several times on the highway and feel this could be an accident hazard as it could brake suddenly and cause someone to rear collide the vehicle.

While driving at approximately 40 mph, the automatic emergency braking system engaged and brought the vehicle speed to under 20 mph on a busy road. This issue occurs repeatedly on the same road and location. The road opens up to four lanes and goes uphill at the point where the braking activates. I have had this issue occur in multiple other instances, with several near rear end collisions.

For more than the past two years I have been experiencing unexpected braking while driving my 19 Accord. There have been probably 20-30 random incidents....generally when I am changing lanes..I think? The braking lasts for 2-3 seconds and then all returns to normal. This has happened when other cars are near and when there is no other car ahead or behind. On at least a couple occasions I received a nasty horn from the car behind me due to my unexpected braking and more than once an uncomplimentary comment from my wife about my driving skill. Several times I feared being rear ended. I explained this braking action as my failure to use the turn signal when changing lanes. Upon reconsidering and after reading the recent NHTSA alert, this is a sensor/software problem in the ESC/Emergency Braking system. Please give this issue your prompt attention. The contact stated that while driving at 45 MPH with activated cruise control, the vehicle independently came to a complete stop as a brake warning light flashed on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the contact was hit from behind by another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact suffered whiplash as a result of the crash; however, no medical attention was given at the scene. The contact spoke with a doctor and received a prescription for her neck pain. A police report was filed at the scene. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home from the scene but later had the vehicle towed to an independent body shop. The contact notified the manufacturer about the failure; the manufacturer denied that the failure was caused by a mechanical failure and believed the failure was caused by a driver error. Several times for no reason the AEP (Automatic Emergency Braking) light on my 2019 Honda Accord came on and the car started to stop. These events occurred in January-February 2022.

Vehicle has suddenly stopped with nothing in front of it on several occasions. One time someone almost rear ended me.

Brake light warning comes and with nothing in front or near me and on occasion it engages the brakes. Also the lane keep assist also goes off when I’m in the middle of a lane and going straight. I have had various electrical problems like this since week one of getting the car, and the dealer or Honda can never explain any of this

This vehicle has a safety issue when it comes to snow on the ground and driving on a hill/incline. I was driving my vehicle through snow in the Ohio/WV region and when I tried to drive up a hill with snow on the ground the vehicle stopped. The vehicle would not accelerate and it seemed the engine just shut off. So I put the car in neutral and pushed the gas and I was correct the engine had no RPMs. This caused a huge safety issue to myself and the people driving near me. As I had ZERO control over the vehicle on an incline. The cars coming toward me and the ones behind me had ZERO issues with their vehicles going up this hillside. I tried three times to shut car off and back on so it would give me a few seconds of acceleration, allowing me to get up the hill a few more feet before shutting off again and possibly causing an accident. When I took it to my Honda dealer they stated computer showed no issues with the vehicle. And they have not heard of the engine shutting down or not having RPMs with snow on the ground. They recommended that I have tracking control off next time allowing me full control vs. the computer of the car however, I DID have it off. Once they heard that statement they informed me I have no other options. Honda did tell me when driving in snow other messages can go off and the car is still SAFE to drive. Which it needs to be as this area has tons of snow. However, that is not the case if the car just shuts off. Prior to the issue, the car kept beeping non stop with warning of break system & adaptive cruise control. My sensors were wiped off prior to the car shutting off. Yet again you can't keep a sensor spotless driving on a highway with snow. Two of the warning lights that showed on my dashboard were not listed in the manual. I am now afraid to drive my vehicle with any snow coming down. I have been a Honda owner since the 90's and I no longer trust this brand.

Twice in the last 4 weeks ( 11/18/21 and 11/30/21) my 2019 Honda Accord came to complete and sudden stop for no apparent reason. My foot was on the gas, my speed was approximately 25mph, an orange warning light on the dash was activated very briefly. Cars behind me had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Going from 25 mph to Zero, caused my neck to snap forward and back and forward again which was very painful. The mileage on my car was approximately 6,650. This exact problem first occurred on 2/6/21. Subsequently, I took the car to the dealershipd where they performed and scanned the vehicle and no codes or error messages were found. Ran air fuel system test etc. and they advised me that no system failure was detected. I reported the incident to NHTSA on approxamately 2/10/21. My Complaint Number for the 2/6/21 incident is 11395658.

On 11/30/21, I was driving approximatley at 25 mph when my car suddenly came to a complete stop for no apparent reason. My foot was on the accelerator, an orange warning on the dash flashed and my head and neck snapped. This is the third incident this year. Other incidents were 11/18/21 and 2/6/21. Both were reported to NHTSA. Complaint number for 11/18/21 is 11442365. The Complaint number for 2/6/21 is 11395658. I do plan to take the car to the dealer again for diagnostic tests even though the tests performed on 2/10/21 showed "no system failure was detected at this moment". I fully expect to be told the same thing regarding this incident.

NOT ONLY DOES THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN SOMETIMES BLACK OUT WHEN I AM NAVIGATING, BUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SOMETIMES KICKS IN ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN THERE IS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR NONE ON EITHER SIDE. I ALSO GET OCCASIONAL COFFEE CUP ICONS WITH A DRIVER ALERT SIGNAL EVEN WHEN I AM DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, YET CONSCIOUS OF THE NEED TO STEER A BIT TO TELL THE SYSTEM I AM ALERT. THE ALERTS HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED QUITE A FEW TIMES. THE DEALER'S ONLY RESPONSE WAS THAT HONDA IS AWARE AND BLAMES THE PROBLEM ON USING THE CORD THAT MUST BE USED TO ACTIVATE CARPLAY AND THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM!

LUCKILY, THE DRIVER BEHIND ME WAS NOT FOLLOWING CLOSE AND WAS ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION BY SWITCHING LANES. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE, BUT NO ONE CAN FIND OR DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. MOREOVER, A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, WHEN I WAS SWITCHING LANES, TOWARD THE RIGHT, THE LEFT WARNING LIGHT AND BEEPING NOISE CAME ON. SO FAR, I HAVE RECORDED NINE INCIDENTS WHEN THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN, AND FOUR OF THOSE WERE ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS FORCED TO DEACTIVATED ALL "SAFETY" SENSORS WHILE I AM DRIVING TO AVOID ANYMORE INCIDENTS OR ACCIDENTS.

THE DEALER WAS EMAILED AGAIN REGARDING THE FAILURE. LATER, THE VEHICLE MOVED ON ITS OWN IN REVERSE FROM A PARKED POSITION AND STRUCK A NEIGHBOR'S MAILBOX. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ROADSIDE SERVICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS $3,700 WORTH OF DAMAGE, BUT NO FAILURE CODES WERE LOCATED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND A LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
