The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the turbocharger. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The warning light continued to illuminate intermittently. Approximately a year later, while driving approximately 30-40 MPH, an unusual odor entered the cabin of the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the brake disc on the driver’s side was hot, and the odor was most pronounced; however, the passenger’s side was cool to the touch and did not have the same strong odor. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was unknown.

I bought this car used in August 2022. September 2022, I paid for diagnostics because every warning light was on. They returned the car and the warning lights were clear. They eventually reappeared. I called, complained and was told I would need to pay for another diagnostic. This has been an ongoing problem. The lights are: Collision Mitigation, braking system problem. TPMS system problem, check tire pressure. Brake System problem, brake performance may be reduced. Brake system, brake hold system problem, apply brake when stopped. Electric power steering system problem, steering assist reduced. Vehicle stability assist system problem, reduced traction and handling. Hill start assist problem, vehicle may roll upon brake release. ACC, adaptive cruise control system problem. Road departure mitigation system problem. Emission system problem, avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. When the battery is disconnected for 15 minutes, then reconnected the lights clear, only to reappear within a few miles of driving. This is very concerning. My teenager will be driving soon and this is an unacceptable safety issue.

The contact owned a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the computer system failed. The contact stated that the traction control, tire pressure warning system, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the power steering seized, and the tires slipped. In addition, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact attempted to steer the vehicle onto the shoulder of the road. The contact’s vehicle crashed into a metal wall several times. The contact sustained injuries to the left shoulder and his neck. In addition, the contact sustained multiple bruises and bumps. The contact received medical treatment from the contact’s primary care physician. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. An independent mechanic connected a scanner to the black box, and the vehicle's computer displayed a warning. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the vehicle was condemned total loss. A police report was filed. The contact obtained the black box and was seeking assistance with collecting the stored data. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.

My car has been sending several warnings including: Brake System: Electric Parking Brake System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Supplemental Restraint System Problem, and Power Steering Reduction Problem. My car is not even 100,000 miles yet. I have had all maintenance done on time and recently had brakes replaced. I have changed my battery and tires twice within the 6 years of owning the car. It seems this is a regular complaint for such low mileage. I was a Toyota person but switched to Honda for their safety performance, and now I am regretting that. I read that this is the Turbo needing to be changed. This part should be recalled if it is failing soon. A person who just bought a car should not be paying $4500 in repairs already. I had the Fuel Pump recall replacement done, and had the brakes done. I am changing the spark plugs and ignition coils next week. Honda needs to do something about this and I am looking to join in the class action suit against them, if they do not correct the issue.

All of the safety and warning lights appear on my car upon starting. It started doing it randomly and the warnings will go off so I’d ignore it but now it is more consistent and they stay on all the time. I searched online to see if anyone else had experienced this and there are many others are having the same issues.

I was driving on the freeway going around 50 MPH and out of nowhere the car slammed on brakes so hard that it slammed me in my seat. No cars were in front or behind me. So there were no accidents that occurred from this incident. But it certainly did scare me.

The contact was driving 55 mph when he rear-ended a 2019 Honda Accord that was stopped in the middle of the road. The owner of the Honda Accord stated the vehicle abruptly stopped. The brake light illuminated, and the vehicle braked without assistance. The contact vehicle was towed, but the driver of the Honda Accord drove his vehicle from the scene of the accident. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

I was highway driving when suddenly a brake light flashed on and off and car came to an immediate stop (then go). There was no use of the brake pedal, nothing ahead of me - and fortunately no one behind be which could have resulted in a serious crash, Safety was a major risk!! Husband checked fluid, car is now "awaiting" inspection at a reputable diagnostic service location. Read an article about these similar defects/complaints, but the Honda dealership claims there have been no like incidents, complaints or concerns. I read otherwise that indicated such events were under investigation (CNN Wire Feb 27,2002). When I called another dealership, they explained that there were not enough complaints to warrant a (safety recall). I beg to disagree!! Today's date is 11/04/2023. Thank you.

My three year old daughter was locked in the vehicle recently which is a major safety concern and was a very terrifying experience. All door locks were malfunctioning. I was unable to gain access to her for several minutes via my key fob or manually pulling the handle/latch. It was in the 40s, after several minutes I was able to gain access through the drivers door. I struggled to undo her car seat from the front. Finally I was able to reach her and she crawled out through the front seat. I was frantic because I was unable to manually unlock the doors when the door release latching system failed. The very next morning I went to warm up the car to take my daughter to school and 10warnings displayed: TPMS, brake system hold, brake system performance, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control x2, electric power steering, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation. This incident constitutes as CHILD ENDANGERMENT in the state of NC. I am terrified and afraid to drive this vehicle, because if in the event of an emergency the doors/car could malfunction AGAIN and we would not be able to exit the vehicle. Surprisingly, I took my car the next morning to a scheduled diagnostics appointment with my certified Honda dealership and they failed to identify the problem. This experience is very anxiety provoking and overwhelming to know that the one thing that is supposed to protect us and keep us safe is the one thing that failed us. Someone needs to hold Honda accountable before this defect results in bodily harm/injury and/or death. This is something that should be taken seriously as Honda has had known problems with the body control modules and safety mechanisms. I would like for NHTSA to conduct a causation survey for failure of safety mechanisms. I would like an update after investigations have been conducted. Sincerely, Terror stricken and perplexed mom.

I went to a dealer because my brake system lights came on. They said that it was the emergency nrake switch. I paid 264.29 to have the switch replaced, only for the lights to cone back on that night. Screen Honda looked over the car and said that they cannot figure out what the issue is, since replacing the switch.

While driving with girlfriend. On a 30 mph street,in Avon,Mass. Suddenly my car brakes In gaged, with Bright “Brakes” on dashboard. Pulsed brakes,slowing me down to right side. Pulled right over, scared Obviously!! My car was bought Oct-2019. Only 14,000 miles on it. Mint Condition,so when this happened. Was very Shocked, not as others before me. This, really has me driving defensive. Waiting, for another episode. Not enjoying,the driving experience!!😡😡

This car brakes on its own. It has done this over and over. Honda claims It has no issues dealer has always serviced it replaced things but it brakes on the freeway, its just shuts down nothing I can do. I reported when it began to happen I even filed a report and sent letter to Honda USA. It last did it a few weeks ago on an expressway near my home. First time it ever did it on the street its always been freeways. I have documented emails to dealer, Honda corporate VM. No one is helping this car is not safe. It is not a made up thing. This car brakes on its own. It beeps signals when it does. It does not move it just shuts down. I have not been hit but know it will one day happen. If it does it has been reported and documented to Piercey Honda now Envision Honda in Milpitas Ca . My service advisor is Adrian Cruz

On March 22, 2022, while at a stop light the brake pedal started going towards floor. As I was driving, the brake light system came on and went off a couple of times. I called the dealership and the car was taken in on Saturday, March 26th, 2022. When they moved the car, they told me the brakes felt squishy. On Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, I received a call from dealership. I was told the car didn't throw any codes and Honda would not let them fix the brake booster. I was then told, my Accord had a test booster put on it by Honda. I was never notified of this before purchasing car. Had I been told, I would not have bought car. I was told this is normal for the brake system to do, per Honda of North America. If this is normal, how come it started 2 weeks ago and not 3 years ago?? There is something wrong with the brakes on this car and I would like the booster to be replaced. I've been in contact with Stirling Honda in Longview WA who tried to get Honda to approve booster replacement. I've also been in contact with Honda of Burlington, WA as they called to see if I was going to return car or buy it(I'm leasing). Honda of Burlington has been less than helpful. Been told, Honda will not replace and there's nothing wrong with the car. Brake pedal should not be going to floor. When I start car, brake pedal will go to approximately 1" from floor. I've also had issues with car braking on Freeway...there isn't a car in front of me. I have a picture of brake pedal going to floor while my car is parked in my driveway. It is on my cell phone and am not able to attach to this complaint. Can email if needed.

Rear brakes have been changed out 3x since 2019 car only have 60k miles . Vehicle have been worked on by Honda there’s nothing they can do but replace the brakes and charge me since it’s an “Wear and Tear” component.

When my 2019 Honda Accord Sport makes high speed changes, the brakes will automatically start aggressive braking enough to cause a rear end collision. Driving on the interstate and no cars in front of me and then suddenly the braking system aggressively brakes the car. Very dangerous.

This has started to become a serious problem it first start happing last year but now is happening more often. When taking to the shop they find nothing wrong with the vehicle. No warning lamps or messages. I have not had any other problems with the vehicle.

For more than the past two years I have been experiencing unexpected braking while driving my 19 Accord. There have been probably 20-30 random incidents....generally when I am changing lanes..I think? The braking lasts for 2-3 seconds and then all returns to normal. This has happened when other cars are near and when there is no other car ahead or behind. On at least a couple occasions I received a nasty horn from the car behind me due to my unexpected braking and more than once an uncomplimentary comment from my wife about my driving skill. Several times I feared being rear ended. I explained this braking action as my failure to use the turn signal when changing lanes. Upon reconsidering and after reading the recent NHTSA alert, this is a sensor/software problem in the ESC/Emergency Braking system. Please give this issue your prompt attention. Jan 6, 2022 Crash

At approximately 16:08 EST on Jan 1, 2022 I was traveling westbound on I-76 at mile marker 146.9 WB (40°02'03.0"N 78°29'50.0"W) in the center lane on a straight section of road at approximately 70mph. Car mileage was 21264 at the time of the crash. The weather at the time of the crash was light rain and with temperature approximately 50F. The car suddenly and for no apparent reason began skidding / fishtailing. I tried steering to regain control of the vehicle and applying the brakes to slow down, but the car continued fishtailing. I did not feel the anti lock brakes engage at any point during the skid. I went into the left lane, and struck the center concrete barrier, causing the airbags to deploy and the car to come to rest in the left lane. 3 symptoms appeared the day of the crash which had never happened before: 1) Several hours before the crash, the vehicle began handling strangely. It felt like there was either steering or brake input from the land keeping assist / adaptive cruise control / traction control systems which was "fighting" me and causing the vehicle to swerve slightly. These handling anomalies occurred randomly about 10 times immediately before the crash. 2) About 2 hours before the crash, the check engine light began flashing and there was a loss of engine power. I pulled over and restarted the car, which seemed to resolve the check engine light / power loss. 3) At one point the adaptive cruise control turned itself off and gave a message about traction conditions. To my knowledge the problem has not been confirmed or reproduced, and the vehicle has not yet been inspected by Honda, my insurer, or anyone else. As of Jan 6, the vehicle is currently in a yard near Altoona PA awaiting assessment, and is available for inspection upon request. I informed Honda about the crash on Jan 6, 2022. They gave me a case number and said to work through my insurer on next steps. Honda service bulletin 21-052 may be relevant to this incident.

Collision mitigation braking system is braking my car at least 4xs when there is nothing on the road in front of me . Luckily there wasn't a car behind me. I was driving each time about 40 miles/he. Took my car to Davis Honda in Burlington County on Aug.6 2021 and they stated to me there was a piece of debri in the multi purpose camera which was cleaned out by them. Otherwise nothing came up in computer check. I believe there is a class action suit against Honda for this problem.

Rear passenger side outside brake pad wear out much faster than the other 7 brake pads on the car. It worn out completely at 33k miles and the rotor and brake pad was metal on metal, because of this both had to be replaced.

I PURCHASED MY HONDA ACCORD SPORT LAST MONTH AND HAD NO ISSUES 5,000 MILES ON IT. BUT AS I'VE BEEN DRIVING IT THE BRAKES ARE NOT OPERATING AS THEY SHOULD WAY TOO SENSITIVE AND IS NOT A SMOOTH PROCESS AS IT SHOULD BE THE SLIGHTEST PRESSURE MAKES IT JOLT FORWARD. ON IDLE MY RPMS START TO LOWER THEN GO UP I DON'T BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A VACUUM LEAK, FUEL PUMP OR SPARK PLUGS BUT THERE IS AN ISSUE.

AT 25,000 MILES, TOOK CAR IN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, RECALL 20-039, ACC MALFUNCTION, AND HAZARD MITIGATION WARNING LIGHT ON DASHBOARD. DURING INSPECTION ON VEHICLE BY TECHNICIAN, WAS FOUND THAT FRONT BRAKES WERE AT 7 MMS AND REAR BRAKES WERE AT 0 MMS. REAR BRAKE PADS WERE COMPLETELY WORN DOWN AND ROTORS WERE RUSTED AND BEYOND ANY REPAIR. TECHNICIAN AND SERVICE MANAGER SAID THIS WAS "NORMAL." HONDA CORPORATION WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IN TALKING TO SEVERAL OUTSIDE MECHANICS AND MY KNOWLEDGE OF BRAKE REPAIR, ALL AGREE THAT REAR BRAKES SHOULD NOT COMPLETELY WEAR OUT BEFORE FRONT BRAKES AT 25,000 MILES. THE HONDA MECHANIC STATED THAT DOING THE RECALL OF REPROGRAMMING THE BCM WOULD CORRECT PROBLEM WITH ACC - ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. THIS RE-PROGRAMMING DID NOT CORRECT THE ACC PROBLEM AND ACTUALLY MADE IT INOPERABLE. WE HAVE FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT TO LOOK AT ACC PROBLEM. DEALER SAID IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, THEY WILL HAVE HONDA CORP. INSPECT VEHICLE. WE HAVE ON FILE ALL ROUTINE MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS RECORDED IN "MAINTENANCE & SERVICE HANDBOOK" AND HONDA MULTI POINT VEHICLE INSPECTION CHECKLISTS. INCURRED $355 EXPENDITURE TO REPLACE REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS WHICH SHOULD BE COVERED BY HONDA ALONG WITH RESOLUTION OF ISSUE.

SPEED WAS APPROXIMATLEY 27 MPH. NECK AND HEAD INJURY RESULTED. HONDA DEALER COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AFTER RUNNING ALL TESTS. THEREFORE, THEY SAID NOTHIG WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND MY CAR HAS APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKES FOR NO REASON. NO VEHICLES IN MY IMMEDIATE AREA, INCLUDING IN FRONT OF ME. ON THE FIRST AND MAIN OCCASION, I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 75MPH. MY CAR FLASHED THE EMERGENCY "BRAKE" NOTIFICATION ON THE DRIVER INFORMATION SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD, AND AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED BRAKES BRINGING ME DOWN TO ABOUT 50-55 MPH BEFORE THE WARNING WENT AWAY, BRAKES WERE RELEASED AND EVERYTHING PROCEEDED AS NORMAL. CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON AND THERE WERE NO CARS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME NOR NEXT TO ME. THE SUN WAS NOT RISING NOR SETTING, SO I DON'T BELIEVE THERE TO HAVE BEEN ANY SUN GLARE AFFECTING THE RADAR. I HAD THIS ISSUE AGAIN DRIVING AT NIGHT ON BACK ROADS. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE "BRAKE" NOTIFICATION APPEARED AND THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED BRAKES, DESPITE NOTHING BEING IN MY LINE OF TRAVEL. AFTER THIS, I FIGURED OUT HOW TO DISABLE THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING AND CHANGE IT TO JUST A WARNING. THE THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I DON'T RECALL MY SPEED, BUT NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF ME. MY CAR FLASHED "BRAKE" FOR NO REASON BEFORE DISAPPEARING. I DO NORMALLY GET THE "BRAKE" NOTIFICATION WHEN I AM APPROACHING A SLOWED VEHICLE, BUT I DON'T GET AUTOMATIC BRAKING WITH THOSE AS I AM ALREADY APPLYING BRAKES. IN ALL THREE OF THESE CIRCUMSTANCES THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANYONE IN FRONT OF ME TO TRIGGER THE BRAKE WARNING.

THIS WAS IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME, I OR MY FAMILY HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT THE CAR DOES HAVE AN ISSUE WITH BRAKING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED FOR NO REASON. AT TIMES THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON, THE LAST TWO TIMES LANE DEPARTURE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I HAVE BEEN CENTERED UP IN MY LANE, NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME OR AS I STATED BESIDE ME. THE CAR IS A DANGER TO THE DRIVER, ANY POTENTIAL PASSENGERS AND THE VEHICLE FOLLOWING. MY 2019 HONDA ACCORD, PURCHASED NEW JULY 25, HAS 2365 MILES ON IT. TWICE VERY EARLY IN MY OWNERSHIP OF THE CAR THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS) ACTIVATED WITH NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME. I FORGOT ABOUT THE PROBLEM AS IT DID NOT REPEAT ITSELF UNTIL THREE INCIDENTS 9/11 AND 9/12 2019. CMBS ACTIVATED YESTERDAY EVENING (9/11/19). IT HAPPENED AGAIN 9/12 MY DRIVE TO CHICAGO ON I-294. I CALLED HONDA OF RACINE RIGHT AFTER THAT HAPPENED AND WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. HE TOLD ME TO TURN THE SYSTEM OFF. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON MY DRIVE HOME FROM CHICAGO. I SEARCHED THE PROBLEM ON-LINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON: HTTPS://WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM/HONDA/ACCORD/2018/BRAKES/SERVICE_BRAKES.SHTML MANY OF THE COMPLAINANTS WHO HAVE BROUGHT THEIR CAR INTO HONDA DEALERS FOR SERVICE REPORT HAVING NO SATISFACTION. WHAT IS ALSO TROUBLING IS THAT THE SYSTEM DID NOT WORK TODAY WHEN THERE WAS NEED FOR AN EMERGENCY STOP WHEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME BRAKED AND SWERVED LEFT (IN A NARROW CONSTRUCTION ZONE) TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR THAT HAD TO STOP SUDDENLY IN FRONT OF HIM WHEN A TOW TRUCK STARTED BACKING UP ON THE ROAD TO SERVICE A CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I BRAKED QUICKLY AND THE CAR BEHIND ME SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ME. THE CMBS DID NOT ACTIVATE IN THIS SITUATION. 9/13: WAITING AT HONDA FOR DIAGNOSTICS. I HAVE BEEN SHOWN A MAY 2019 HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN WHICH ACKNOWLEDGES THIS ISSUE. I SEE NUMEROUS NHTSA OWNER REPORTS OF IDENTICAL PROBLEMS.

WHEN I BRAKE FROM A SPEED OF 30-40 MPH, THE PEDAL FEEL IS NOT SMOOTH THROUGHOUT THE BRAKING MOTION. FIRST, I START TO BRAKE BUT I DO NOT SLOW DOWN, ONLY WHEN I PRESS EVEN HARDER DOES THE BRAKE ENGAGE BUT AT THAT POINT IT IS A HEAVY BRAKE MAKE THE CAR LUNGE FORWARD. BASICALLY THE BRAKES ONLY ENGAGE WHEN I PRESS HARDER ON THE PEDAL BUT DOING SO MAKES THE BRAKING NOT SMOOTH. THIS UNCERTAINTY WHEN THE BRAKES WILL ENGAGE MAKES FOR A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I HAVE TO HEAVILY CONCENTRATE ON BRAKING. MY CAR IS BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 1450 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUT THEY DO NOT BELIEVE MY STORY EVEN WHEN THEY TEST DRIVE.

ON A TOTAL OF 6 OCCASIONS DURING THE FIRST 4500 MILES OF USING MY NEW CAR, THE BRAKE ALERT SIGN ACTIVATED WITHOUT REASON FOR PROVOCATION, I.E., NO OTHER CARS NEARBY, NOTHING IN ROADWAY. FOUR OCCURRED WHILE DOING 65 MPH ON INTERSTATE. THE LAST 2 OCCASIONS WERE STARTLING AS THE BRAKES WERE TRIGGERED, CAUSING THE CAR TO FISHTAIL AND SWERVE LEFT MOMENTARILY AS IF ATTEMPTING TO AWAKEN A DRIVER FALLING ASLEEP. ON THOSE OCCASIONS I WAS DOING ABOUT 50-55 MPH ON A HIGHWAY WITH OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD BUT NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO NEED TO BRAKE. ONE TIME I WAS TAKING AN EXIT TO GET ON ANOTHER HIGHWAY. THE OTHER TIME I WAS GOING THROUGH A CONSTRUCTION ZONE BUT THERE WERE NO CIRCUMSTANCES THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE NEED TO BRAKE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECOND OCCURRENCE AND LEFT FOR 24+ HOURS. THEY ACTED AS IFF THAT COULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED UNLESS I WERE TOO CLOSE TO SOMETHING -- THEY'D NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. THEY TEST DROVE FOR 13 MILES, AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR FOR THEM. NOTHING PROBLEMATIC SHOWED UP ON DIAGNOSTICS. NOTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. I DISABLED THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP.

APPLYING BRAKES GIVES A NON-LINEAR RESPONSE THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO BRAKE SMOOTHLY AND SAFELY. APPLYING THE BRAKES RESULTS IN VARYING RESPONSES THAT APPEARS NOT TO BRAKE AND THEN SUDDENLY GRABS. I SUSPECT THAT THERE IS EITHER AIR IN THE SYSTEM OR PART FAILURE OF THE BRAKE BOOSTER OR MASTER CYLINDER. DEALER SAID THAT IT IS 'NORMAL' BRAKE RESPONSE FOR THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THE SALESMAN AND SERVICE TECH FELT THE PROBLEM UPON DRIVING. ALSO HAD COLLISION BRAKE MITIGATION PROBLEM LIGHT GO OFF ON MY WAY HOME FROM DEALER.

WITH ONLY LESS THAN 800 MILES ON THE CAR, MY 2019 HONDA ACCORD VSA MODULATOR (WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP) FAILED. I FELT THE CAR BEGIN TO BOG ON THE HIGHWAY RIGHT BEFORE WE WERE ON THE EXIT. THEN, THE GAS PEDAL STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY AND THE CAR LOST SPEED. I WOULD PRESS HARD ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WOULD TAKE ABOUT 3 SECONDS BEFORE IT STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD, JERKING IN THE DIRECTION I INTENDED IT TO GO. AFTER STRUGGLING A LITTLE WHILE, I LUCKILY PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO SEND MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I FELT THAT I WAS VERY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER. 1ST, IT HAPPENED DURING AN EARLY SUNDAY MORNING WITH HEAVY RAIN, SO THERE WAS NOT MUCH TRAFFIC. 2ND, THE EVENT OCCURRED RIGHT BEFORE WE WERE GOING TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY WITH ONLY A FEW HUNDREDS OF FEET TO GO. ALSO, IT'S IN MY HOMETOWN AND I KNOW THE ROAD VERY WELL. OTHERWISE, AN UNCONTROLLABLE CAR COULD CAUSE VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IF WE WERE TO CRASH, THE EVENT WOULD LIKELY BE ATTRIBUTED TO DRIVER FAULT - SINCE IT IS SUCH A NEW CAR - RATHER THAN A CRUCIAL CAR PART FAILING, WHICH COULD CAUSE DEATH TO MANY OTHERS WHO BUY NEW HONDA ACCORD 2019S. THEREFORE, I BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY AND SHOULD BE FURTHER INVESTIGATED.

THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM AND CRUISE CONTROL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. IT REQUIRES A RESTART TO ACTIVATE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES. THE CAR WAS ON THE HIGHWAY EACH TIME. IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK. ATTACHED IS A PICTURE OF THE WARNING OF THE FAILURE.
