Honda did a software update on my vehicle tied to the recall below. The dealership stated to me that they need to replace the VSA modulator and they are claiming this is not covered since they did the software update a few years ago. I believe they are directly corollated as I don't drive the car much only have 27K miles on the car. They are asking me to the pay for replacing the modulator VSA and are stating that this is not covered under the recall. It's hard for me to beleive how they are unrelated if the software is causing the unit to malfunction and we know the unit needs replacement there is a direct connection. This is costing me $2500. The contact's parent owns a 2016 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the parent was parking into a parking space, and straightening the steering wheel; the brake pedal depressed but the vehicle continued to drive. Several warning messages were displayed "Vehicle Stability Assist Problem", "Power System Steering Problem", "Hill Start Assist Problem", "Emissions Systems Problem", "Brake Hold System Problem", and "Brake System Problem". The driver noticed that the brake pedal failed to respond and the vehicle rapidly accelerated, causing the vehicle to crash into two medians and crash into a parked and unoccupied Ford Edge vehicle at unknown speeds. The stationary vehicle was pushed halfway out of the parking spot. No air bags deployed, and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was unknown if the vehicle was diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

I have noticed for a while now. When the light turns green or I'm at a stop and I have enough time to take off the car does not move when I apply the gas. It stalls and that scares me. I have noticed my cruise control shut off the other day when driving on the freeway. And I could not turn it back on. Now when I try to apply the parking bake when I'm parked the parking brake does not turn on nor the brake hold. The lights keep flashing than turn odd My headlight in the front and back passenger don't work. I've switched out the bulbs and it's an electrical problem. I see recalls on some of these matters but honda won't do nothing because it's not on their system when I bought this car in 2016.
Honda knew of an issue with their Electronic Parking Brake system which required a software update per service bulletin 17-007 since January 17, 2017. Honda claims that the issue was not associated with my 2016 Civic Coupe EXL VIN however on Oct 29, 2023 my Civic threw this error which then cost me $112 for the service center to diagnose and an additional $150 for the software update to be installed. Total cost of $262 for an item that Honda knew was an issue and never addressed on my vehicle. This issue creates a dangerous and possibly life threatening situation which Honda is fully aware and should be held liable. American Honda states that my vehicle was not effected however I disagree as the photos and failure occurred. I was expecting more fro Honda.
My car has an emergency parking brake malfunction where the brake delays once parked.
Both steering and brake system warning lights came on and steering wheel locked in to place with no prior warning indications of power steering rack failure.
Air conditioner in my 2016 Honda Civic has never worked. Condenser or compressor needs to be replaced continues to leak throughout system and is defective. Emergency Brake malfunction does not work and poses as a safety issue. Left head lamp doesn’t work due to excessive heat exposure in Nevada.
Emergency brake failed and gives following code in the dash: Red blinking light- BRAKE Yellow light: Brake System There was a recall back in 2016 because of this same problem. More than 300,000 cars affected.
ABS malfunction. The malfunction problem showed up on the dash and the car would not drive properly causing several messages to come on. Once I stopped and turned off the car I started if back up and went a few yard and the car started to malfunction and the message appeared again. I immediately called a foreign car specialist and was told there is a recall. I looked up the recall and it stated the same exact issue for Honda Civics years 2016-2022. I have had the car towed to two auto shops and both stated that there is a recall for the problem I am having and that they are seeing more of this issue on the Civics. I am a dialysis patient and need reliable transportation. I have about 8 months left to pay the car note in full and would really appreciate it if this could be addressed. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA ABOUT THE ( EPB) PROBLEM. THEY REFUSES TO AKNOWEDGE THE ISSUE BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT SHOW UP. THE PROBLEM IS THERE AND I HAD IT COMFRIM BY A MECHANIC. THERE WAS NO WARNING BEFORE HAND TILL ONE DAY WHEN DAY WHEN ENGAGING THE PARKING BRAKE THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT ENGAGED. THE ONLY WAY WAS TO CUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT AGAIN. I AM UNABLE TO PARK ON A HILL BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM AND AFRAID OF THE SYSTEM FAILING ALL TOGETHER.
BRAKES they stop too slow and I need to push fes time to made it stop, that made me very insecure and unsafe. AC stop working is only hot air what is coming out, since is to hot is impossible ti drive like that.
I'm the original and only owner of the vehicle, which has less than 36,000 miles. My Civic has only ever been serviced by Honda dealerships, and I can provide maintenance records upon request. A failure of this nature to the braking system can only be caused by a defective part. In fact, I had my brakes inspected by Honda at 33,000 miles, and Honda gave my brakes a clean bill of health. While driving my vehicle, the brake pedal suddenly was unable to be depressed except with extreme foot pressure; it felt like a brick had been placed under my brake pedal. The stopping power was substantially diminished. It took multiple, very strong brake pumps to slow and stop my vehicle, meaning I was unable to stop in the event of an emergency. I took the car immediately to a Honda dealership. Ultimately, Honda replaced by brake booster, which they noted was defective, but charged me for the repair because the time (but not mileage) had elapsed on my warranty.

WHILE DOING NORMAL CITY DRIVING IN EARLY MORNING, I DROVE OVER METAL PLATES ON THE STREET WHICH HAD OCCASIONALLY IN THE PAST CAUSED MY AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS) TO WARN ME TO BRAKE AS IF IT SENSED A HAZARD, BUT NEVER APPLIED THE BRAKES FOR ME. TODAY WHEN GOING OVER THESE PLATES, THE CMBS APPLIED FULL BRAKES TO THE CAR WITHOUT MY TOUCHING THE BRAKE PEDAL MYSELF, BRINGING MY CAR TO AN ABRUPT STOP. THE CAR BEHIND ME UNDERSTANDABLY REAR-ENDED ME. LUCKILY JUST VERY MINOR DAMAGE SINCE THE CAR BEHIND ME MOSTLY STOPPED, BUT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. WILL TAKE TO DEALERSHIP IN A COUPLE DAYS FOR INSPECTION. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THIS SYSTEM COULD NOT BE DISABLED, BUT AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I FOUND IT COULD BE, SO I DISABLED IT TODAY. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN ONLY UNDER CERTAIN SITUATIONS SUCH AS SUNLIGHT ANGLE AND THE COLOR OR REFLECTION FROM THE TRUCK ARE INTERFERING WITH THE CARS SENSING BRAKES CAN ALSO BE AUTOMATICALLY APPLIED RATHER HARD WHEN EXITING A HIGHWAY RAMP WITHOUT USING A TURN SIGNAL. THIS CAN HAPPEN WITHOUT THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL APPLIED SO I SUSPECT IT IS RELATED TO THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE FEATURE. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE NEW AND THESE EVENTS HAVE OCCURRED MORE THEN A DOZEN TIMES. ON A TRIP DRIVING FROM FLORIDA TO PENNSYLVANIA ON RT 95 IT HAPPENED ABOUT 5 TIMES. VERY FRIGHTENING TO HAVE THE BRAKES APPLIED SPONTANEOUSLY AT 70 MILES/HR WHEN PASSING A TRUCK. I HAVE ASKED ABOUT THIS DURING SERVICE AT A HONDA DEALER AND THEY REPORTED EVERYTHING WAS WORKING PROPERLY.

THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED AN INTERMITTENT BUT SUDDEN AND COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MOVING AT AROUND 40MPH. IN PART DUE TO THE LOW SPEED, THE VEHICLE WAS SAFELY MANEUVERED OFF THE ROAD ONCE BRAKING POWER WAS REGAINED. THE CAR DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE PIN THE ISSUE TO AN ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT FAILURE IN THE BRAKE CONTROL UNIT (HONDA ERROR CODES V300-49 AND V3003-68) AND RECOMMENDED CHANGING THE VSA MODULATOR UNIT. REGULAR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE VEHICLE JUST A MONTH PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP INDICATED NO OBSERVED ISSUES WITH BRAKING. ATTACHED IS THE INVOICE OF THE VSA UNIT REPLACEMENT WORK PERFORMED AS RECOMMENDED.

MY EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY RESULTING IN SEVERAL INCIDENTS OF THE CAR 'ROLLING' AWAY AFTER ENGAGING THE E-BRAKE. THIS HAPPENED FOR SOME TIME UNTIL I COULD NOT ENGAGE THE E-BRAKE AT ALL UNLESS CONTINUOUSLY ENGAGING THE BUTTON AND WAITING UP TO 10 MINUTES AND 20+ 'PULLS' OF THE BRAKE BUTTON. IF I WAS ABLE TO, IT WOULD NOT STAY ON FOR GOOD AT ALL TIMES, RESULTING IN THE CAR ROLLING AWAY QUITE OFTEN. THIS WAS EXTREMELY SCARY AND UNSAFE. WHEN HONDA SAID MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 2016 CIVIC SAFETY RECALL REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE, I DECIDED TO FIX IT OUT OF POCKET. HOWEVER, THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO OTHER VINS BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM AND MAY HAPPEN AGAIN REGARDLESS OF MY DEALERSHIP FIXING IT ON THIS OCCASION. I THOUGHT BY LAW, RECALLS HAPPENED BY YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL, NOT NECESSARILY BY THE SPECIFIC VIN #S AFFECTED (IN THE PAST WHEN I WAS CONTACTED ABOUT A SAFETY RECALL FOR A DIFFERENT CAR COMPANY, I WAS TOLD VIN DIDN'T MATTER, ONLY YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL). I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN HONDA'S HANDLING OF THIS SITUATION AS IT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND DEATH AND I THINK IT'S ONLY FAIR TO REIMBURSE THOSE OF US WHO HAVE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM WITH THE 2016 EMERGENCY BREAKS BUT HAVE NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HONDA DID TELL ME THAT IF ENOUGH PEOPLE REPORTED THE PROBLEM, THEY MIGHT EXTEND THE VIN RANGE FOR THE RECALL. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2016 HONDA CIVIC IN MARCH 2016. WITHIN THE FIRST 6-8 MONTHS I BEGAN HAVING ELECTRICAL BRAKE PROBLEM ISSUES AND GETTING NOTIFICATIONS REGARDING FAULTY BRAKES. I HAD TO CALL HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AT LEAST TWICE WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNING THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAULTY BRAKES AND BEING STRANDED. THEN CAME THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I WOULD LOCK THE CAR AND ALL WINDOWS WOULD BE UP WHEN LEAVING THE CAR BUT I'D RETURN TO ALL WINDOWS DOWN AND THE SUNROOF OPEN! THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN THE FIRST TWO YEARS OF OWNING THE CAR! LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST IS THE BATTERY ISSUE. THE BATTERY WON'T LAST 10 MONTHS WITHOUT ISSUES! IF YOU TRY TO CHARGE YOUR CAR IN ACCESSORY MODE, THE CAR BATTERY WILL DIE AND YOU WILL NEED A JUMP. I HAD AAA AND USED UP ALL BUT ONE OF MY CALLS UP ON THE BATTERY ISSUES THIS CAR HAS. I AM UNSURE IF THE MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS FOR PROBLEMS THAT DID NOT EXIST CAUSED THE TURBO PROBLEMS BUT IT SEEMS LIKELY. SINCE WHEN THESE LIGHTS COME ON THE CAR IS DESIGNED TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. LUCKILY I AM AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER AND WAS ABLE TO HANDLE THE AUTOMATIC DRASTIC DECLINE WITH OUT BREAKING WHILE DRIVING AND COMING TO AN ALMOST COMPLETE STOP. THE AIRBAGS ALSO DIDN'T DEPLOY DURING THE COLLISION. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, BUT INSTEAD OF A RESPONSE BACK AND PRESSURE COMING BACK FROM THE BRAKING SYSTEM, THE BRAKING PEDAL FELT LOOSE AND THE CAR INSTEAD OF COMING TO A STOP, CONTINUED TO SLOWLY DECELERATE. I'VE BEEN DRIVING THE CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND MY EXPECTATION WAS THAT THE CAR SHOULD HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP INSTEAD OF JUST SLOWING DOWN WITHIN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN MY CAR AND THE CAR IN FRONT. THERE WERE ALSO NO SKID MARKS ON THE PAVEMENT. I SUSPECT THE BRAKES FAILED AND HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, THE DEALERSHIP AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY IN TRYING TO GET THIS LOOKED INTO BY SOMEONE THAT CAN COME UP WITH A REPORT ON THE STATUS OF THE BRAKES. UNFORTUNATELY NOBODY CARED SO FAR, SO AS A LAST RESOURCE I'M REACHING OUT TO NHTSA FOR POSSIBLE GUIDANCE OR EVEN A BRAKING SYSTEM CAR INSPECTION.

I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED ONCE AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN THEY WERE INSPECTING IT THE CAR WAS FUNCTIONING ONCE AGAIN. NO ERROR MESSAGE AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO START IT WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. NOW MY CONCERN IS OBVIOUSLY SAFETY SINCE THE ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD SHOWS IT IS A BRAKE PROBLEM. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE.

ONE TIME, THE BRAKES ENGAGED ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO ONE AND NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME, AND I HAD TO PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER QUICKLY (TO AVOID THE DRIVER BEHIND ME REAR-ENDING ME) AND GOT A FLAT TIRE AS A RESULT. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE ISSUE, BUT THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT GET MY VEHICLE TO DEMONSTRATE/ENGAGE IN THE BEHAVIOR I WAS DESCRIBING, AND THEREFORE, SAID THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP A NUMBER OF TIMES AND LETTING THEM KNOW OF THE ISSUE THEY NOW RUN A FULL DIAGNOSTICS THAT MY WARRANTY IS OUT AND THINK IT HAS TO DO WITH A BAD CELL IN THE BATTERY. SO EITHER THERE IS A FAULT WITH THE ELECTRICAL BREAK SYSTEM OR THE BATTERIES IN THE 2016 HONDA CIVICS ARE BAD. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH WILL SHOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE.

AFTER THE MALFUNCTION, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ORR HONDA OF PARIS TX WHERE I DISCOVERED THE RECALL OF 2016 HONDA CIVICS. ORR HONDA CONDUCTED A VIN INQUIRY THAT SHOWED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS COMPLETED ON OCT 12, 2016, PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TESTED MY PHYSICAL VEHICLE AND THE REQUIRED UPDATE TO THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS NEVER MADE. IT APPEARS MILO GORDON HONDA UPDATED THE VIN DATABASE WITHOUT EVER REPAIRING THE ACTUAL CAR, THEN PROCEEDED TO SELL IT AS A NEW VEHICLE. ON TWO OCCASIONS, MY CIVIC HAS "LOCKED UP". UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATE AND THE CAR WON'T GO INTO GEAR. I WAS STUCK WHERE I WAS AND HAD TO GET THE CAR MOVING SO I FORCEFULLY ENGAGED THE VEHICLE BY INSERTING THE KEY INTO THE SHIFT KNOB AREA. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR, ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE STILL ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO MOVE, THE VEHICLE WAS VERY HARD TO MANEUVER, THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK WELL, AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. I EVENTUALLY DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND "RESET" THE COMPUTER THAT WAY. THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY FOR A FEW MONTHS, THEN CAME BACK AGAIN SAME EXACT WAY. THE NEXT TIME, I DID THE SAME THING, DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND IT RESET. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM IS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, TRANSMISSION, BRAKING, OR WHATEVER. ALL I KNOW IS IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AFTER I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. ONE OTHER POINT TO MAKE, I ALREADY HAD THE "PARKING BRAKE RECALL" SOFTWARE UPDATE COMPLETED BY HONDA. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM AND ALL THEY COULD DO WOULD BE RESTART THE CAR UNTIL THEY WERE ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THE HONDA CIVIC WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SET WHEN IT WAS PARKED. THE VEHICLE HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. A FEW HOURS LATER THE CAR ALARM WAS GOING OFF AND WHEN I WENT TO LOOK TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON I DISCOVERED THAT THE CAR HAD ROLLED DOWN THE DRIVE AND INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE POLICE IN MY JURISDICTION DO NOT TAKE ACCIDENT REPORTS FOR ACCIDENTS ON PRIVATE PROPERTY THEREFORE A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT TAKEN. AFTER THE INCIDENT I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A ACTIVE RECALL INVOLVING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR ON OCTOBER 8, 2016 I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A "DO NOT SELL" NOTE IN THE COMPUTER SYSTEM DUE TO THE RECALL. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD DO THE DOWNLOAD WHILE WE DID THE PAPERWORK. AFTER THIS INCIDENT INVOLVING THE WRECK THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO CHECKED THE DOWNLOAD AND CONFIRMED THAT THE DOWNLOAD WAS UP TO DATE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TWO DAYS LATER TO HAVE THE BRAKE SYSTEM INSPECTED WHICH THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO CODES FOUND IN THE SYSTEM. THIS WAS DONE AT THE ADVICE OF HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE. HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE CONTACTED ME TODAY AND STATED THAT AT THIS TIME THEY RECOMMEND PROCEEDING WITH AN INSURANCE CLAIM. I STATED THAT I THOUGHT THAT SINCE THERE WAS AN ACTIVE RECALL AND THE RECALL HAD BEEN PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE STILL FAILED THAT THEY WOULD WANT TO TAKE THE CAR TO LOOK AT. TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA CALLED RIGHT HONDA. THEY TOOK THE CAR TWICE TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE AUTO BRAKING SYSTEM. NEVERTHELESS, RIGHT HONDA DROVE THE CAR AROUND 81 MILES AN HOUR. WE HAVE A GPS TRACKING DEVICE ON THE CAR THAT ALERTS US WHEN SOMEONE IS DRIVING UNPROFESSIONAL. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. LATER ON WARNING LIGHTS IN THE CAR STARTED TO TURN ON INCLUDED THE BRAKE AND ENGINE LIGHT. WE HAD A WORKER AT AUTOZONE CHECK THE LIGHTS WITH ONE OF THEIR TOOLS AND WERE TOLD THE LIGHTS MAY HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF IN THE INITIAL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO OUR PURCHASE. WE WENT BACK TWICE SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER AND SERVICE TEAM AND WERE TURNED AWAY WITH A LIST OF ALL OF THE LIGHTS ON IN THE VEHICLE WITH NO REMEDY TO FIX ANY OF THE ISSUES. WHEN WE BROUGHT UP THE RECALL AGAIN WE WERE TOLD OUR CAR DID NOT FALL UNDER IT. BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE I AND MY BOYFRIEND COULD AVE LOST OUR LIVES IN AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY. AS OF TODAY I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE 4 TIMES TO CORRECT THE ISSUE AND IT CONTINUES. FIRST THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND AS SOON AS I LEFT THE PARKING LOT THE VEHICLE BEGAN CLICKING. THEY REPLACED THE VSA MODULATOR AND INSISTED THE CLICKING HAD CEASED. THE CLICKING BEGAN AS SOON AS I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. THE THIRD TIME THE SERVICE TECHS WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE AND THEREFORE NOT ABLE TO INVESTIGATE OR REPAIR. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN AND THEY REPLACED THE "ABS MODULATOR" AND "CLEARED" THE CODES. ONCE AGAIN A MONTH LATER (JUNE), THE SAME ERRORS ARE APPEARING.

VEHICLE HAS REPEATEDLY THROWN ERRORS WITH WARNINGS TO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND HAVE IT INSPECTED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS ALREADY BEEN TO THE SHOP TWICE FOR THE PROBLEM. IN BOTH CASES HONDA INSTALLED AN UPDATED VSA MODULATOR THEY CLAIMED WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. IT HAS NOT. NOT THE LOCAL DEALER DOESN'T EVEN WANT TO SEE THE VEHICLE AS THEY TELL ME THEIR IS NOTHING MORE THEY CAN DO FOR US. THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE EMAILED HONDA CORPORATE TO HAVE A REGIONAL REP CONTACT US. IT HAS BEEN 4 DAYS SINCE. THEY SAY THE VEHICLE IS SAFE, BUT YET THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THE VEHICLE HAS A DEFECT THEY CANNOT CORRECT, AND MY CAR IS NOT ALONE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE SHOP 5 TIMES FOR "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE", "ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE", "TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM FAILURE", "TIRE PRESSURE LOW", AND "CHARGING SYSTEM FAILURE" WITH NO RESOLVE BY THE DEALERSHIP. THESE MESSAGES WERE ALL ON THE RADIO DISPLAY PRIOR TO TODAY TO WHICH THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ARE FALSE FLAGS. I AM NOT SURE HOW A "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE" ANYWHERE ON A DASH IS A FALSE FLAG. THESE MESSAGES GENERALLY OCCURRED UPON STARTUP BUT MANY TIMES WHILE DRIVING. LAST NIGHT, ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WOULD NOT START UP AT THIS TIME.

COMPUTER SYSTEM HAD A MAJOR MALFUNCTION, TRIGGERING 6 DIFFERENT WARNINGS, AND AN AUDIBLE MESSAGE TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND PARK THE VEHICLE AND HAVE A DEALER INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED AFTER FILLING UP THE VEHICLE WITH GAS. MY FAMILY WAS IN THE VEHICLE WITH THE CAR IN ACCESSORY MODE, LISTENING TO THE RADIO. AFTER FINISHING UP FUELING, ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER, I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE. I GOT IN, SHUT THE DOOR, PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, PRESSED THE BUTTON TO START THE VEHICLE, PUT ON MY SEAT BELT, AND THEN SAW THE MESSAGES. AFTER A FEW MINUTES WITH THE CAR ON AND READING THE MESSAGES, A VOICE STARTED TO TALK AND TELL ME, TO STOP THE VEHICLE, PARK IT, AND HAVE A DEALER LOOK AT IT. THE 6 MESSAGES ON THE CENTER DISPLAY SAID VARIOUS THINGS. SUCH AS THEY WERE TITLED: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM THE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM CMBS PROBLEMS ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM TIRE PRESSURE LOW BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM THE ALARMING NUMBER OF PROBLEMS ABOUT THE BRAKE SYSTEM ALONE, TELLS ME THIS VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. COMBINE THAT WITH THE AUDIABLE MESSAGE ABOUT PULLING OVER AND PARKING THE VEHICLE, NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND IS GOING TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT IS PROPERLY LOOKED AT. THE DEALER DID LOOK AT IT, AND SAID IT WAS THE VSA MODULATOR, AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THERE IS CASE AFTER CASE OF THIS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM FOUND ONLINE. YET PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES, INCLUDING MINE ARE BEING SENT BACK ONTO THE ROAD IN THESE VEHICLES OF WHICH HONDA HAS NOT AND CANNOT PROVIDE A FIX FOR BECAUSE IT, ITSELF DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. ANY THEREFORE NO ONE KNOWS IF THEIR CAR IS CRYING WOLF, AND JUST WAITING TO KILL THEM. I DON'T WANT MY CAR IF I CAN'T TRUST IT. I JUST CAN"T WAGER MY FAMILIES LIVES ON THAT. THEY ARE WILLING TO TELL US TO DRIVE AROUND IN THE VEHICLE EVEN BEFORE THE FIRST REPAIR IS TRIED. THE ERRORS ARE RELATED TO BRAKES

WHILE DRIVING ON A MAIN ROAD AT SPEED LIMIT ON CR 201 IN FLORIDA (WEST OF I-95 WHICH IS A SECONDARY, MAIN, PAVED ROAD) MY EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED AFTER I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE BUTTON ON THE CONSOLE. MY VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY SLOWED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND VEERED OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT. ONCOMING TRAFFIC ALSO VEERED AWAY AND FOLLOWING TRAFFIC HAD TO USE EVASIVE MEASURES TO AVOID COLLISION. WHEN I BOUGHT MY NEW HONDA, I ASKED THE SALES REP IF THAT WAS AN ISSUE AND HE (RAY AT COGGIN HONDA) SAID "ABSOLUTELY NOT" AND EXPLAINED (PARAPHRASED) THAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ARE IN PLACE TO ELIMINATE ANY PREMATURE OR ACCIDENTAL EMERGENCY ENGAGEMENT OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHILE IN GEAR AND WHILE DRIVING.

I HAD APPROACHED APX 56 MPH AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED ACCELERATING, ACROSS THE DASHBOARD SCREEN WAS A BLINKING RED STATING, BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE. ! KEEP IN MIND, THIS VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW I HAVE LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON IT ! AT THE TIME OF THE SCREEN ON THE DASH BLINKING WHAT SEEMED TO HAVE BEEN AN EMERGENCY BRAKE DEPLOYED AS I WAS DECELERATING CAUSING ME TO COME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! LUCKY FOR ME THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME, BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE TURNED FATAL. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY TO TRY AND RELAX. I TURNED THE CAR OFF. TURNED IT BACK ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS STILL BLINKING SAYING FAILURE. I TURNED IT OFF AGAIN AND BACK ON AND THE LIGHT HAD STOPPED BLINKING. I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE AND I DID, JUST THINKING IT WAS A FREAK THING. ON MY WAY INTO BOSTON, THE DASH LIT UP AGAIN WITH THE SAME MESSAGE. WHEN I WAS SAFE IN A PARKING LOT I CALLED HONDA AND HAD MY CAR TOWED, AT THIS POINT I NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CLOSEST HONDA DEALERSHIP IN BOSTON. AS OF YET, THEY HAVE NOT DECIDED WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. IF I GET UPDATES I WILL UPDATE THEM. THE LAST I HEARD IS THAT THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE SYSTEM MODULE HAD FAILED. HOW CAN THIS BE , WHEN THE CAR IS NEW ? HOW CAN I HAVE FAITH DRIVING MY VEHICLE , THAT THIS WON'T HAPPEN WHEN I AM IN TRAFFIC AND CAUSE A SERIOUS WRECK? CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A "BRAKE HOLD" FEATURE THAT CAN BE ACTIVATED TO HOLD BRAKES ON WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE WITHOUT KEEPING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AND THEN PRESS GAS TO START MOVING. FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, I CAN HEAR THE BRAKE HOLD CLICK ON WITHOUT IT BEING TURNED ON (THERE WOULD BE AN INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH), TO TEST IT I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE HOLD WAS NOT ACTIVATED. SOME OF THESE TIMES, THE BRAKE HOLD WOULD COME ON, I WOULD TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO SEE IF IT WAS DOING IT, AND THEN 5-10 SECONDS LATER THE BRAKE WOULD RELEASE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO MOVE WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING, AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATOR ON THE PANEL. THE BRAKE HOLD FEATURE STILL WORKS FINE WHEN I TURN IT ON, ALL LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND OFF WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO, BUT THE CAR SEEMS TO HOLD THE BRAKES WITHOUT ME ACTIVATING THE FEATURE, AND THEN THEY DO NOT HOLD UNTIL I GIVE THE CAR GAS, POTENTIALLY RELEASING THE CAR TO MOVE BEFORE I AM READY FOR IT TO IF I AM EXPECTING THE BRAKES TO BE HELD. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP, BUT THE UNEXPECTED RELEASE WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO START MOVING SUDDENLY.

SUDDEN RESISTANCE - HAVE EXPERIENCE THIS QUITE FREQUENTLY, NEED MORE ACCELERATION TO GET THE VEHICLE INTO MOTION MAINLY AT TRAFFIC STOPS. 3. CAR RADIO - MY MODEL IS EQUIPPED WITH ALL TOUCH SENSITIVE BUTTONS. POWER BUTTON ON RADIO MOSTLY DO NOT RESPOND.
