I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback and the dangerous issue related to its air conditioning (A/C) system — a problem affecting many Civic owners nationwide. I initially brought my vehicle to Honda City Chicago for a Honda “campaign” repair (a term they use instead of calling it a recall) in 2023 and again this year, related to the A/C system. I was told the issue would be resolved. However, after agreeing to an optional transmission oil change they recommended, I was later told the A/C still wasn’t fixed — and that I now needed to pay $400 for a diagnostic. That diagnostic revealed the actual problem: a locked A/C compressor. (Which they knew they just wanted the money) This defect is not just an inconvenience — it’s a serious safety hazard. When the A/C is turned on, the locked compressor causes the engine to shake violently and stall completely. This happened to me at a red light; the car shut off, became unresponsive, and I was stuck blocking traffic. If this had occurred while driving at higher speeds, the consequences could have been catastrophic. Many Civic owners have reported similar compressor failures leading to engine stalls and unsafe driving conditions. Honda is aware of this issue but continues to treat it as isolated rather than a systemic defect. I urge the NHTSA to open a formal investigation into this widespread and dangerous issue involving locked A/C compressors in 2016–2020 Honda Civics. A safety recall is warranted before more drivers are put at risk or harmed due to this known defect.

The Body Control Module (BCM) is faulty and causes the alarm to go off on its own, lights inside the cluster glitch turning on by itself and drains the battery even with the key fob nowhere near its vicinity when off. Sometimes does not recognize the key fob.

After turning off the vehicle and locking it the vehicle continuously turns on to accessory mode on its own. On a few occasions I came out to a dead battery or have been woken up more than once to my alarm blaring in the middle of the nite and when I came out to check my vehicle it was usually turned on to accessory mode upon researching the internet I found that many owners with the 2016 and 2017 have the same problem which is a result of a faulty Body Control Module within the keyless entry system. I have taken my car to honda to be fixed it's been 3 days now with no solution on repairs yet.6/7/25

While driving my Honda civic 2017, a loud static noise suddenly started coming from the vehicle’s audio system or speakers. The noise is persistent and does not stop unless I turn off the vehicle completely. This creates a significant distraction and could interfere with hearing emergency vehicles or other road sounds. This issue occurs randomly and is a serious safety concern.

I drove home from work today like normal. Pushed the engine start/stop button before getting out of the car. The radio was still on, and the dash was still on, with Accessory Mode, push "start/stop" twice to turn off, or something similar to that. I pushed the button twice. It went to accessory mode. I started the engine, drove the car out of the drive way, came back, pushed the button to turn off the car... accessory mode. turned the car on, turned the car off.... accessory mode. Moved the keys all away from the car. Started the car (which i could do because it WAS STILL IN ACCESSORY MODE) and drove the car, meanwhile there was a big warning saying there was no key fob in the proximity. Parked the car, pushed the on/off button.... accessory mode. I have tried everything I can think of, the car wont lock. It wont exit accessory mode unless its in full on start. Someone could come along and steal my car because I cant turn it off. all i can do is disconnect the battery and after 2-3 days i connect it and it works just temporarily. This is not ok and unsafe especially when i have a new born and stranded in the middle of the wors place due to this issue.

The abs speed sensor on honda vehicles are placed in such a way that is breaks often. And when it breaks, it leads to multiple sensors going off which may cause the abs to lock up while braking normally, car accelerating unexpectedly.For me the speed sensor on the right wheel was broken. This lead the car to accelerate unexpectedly and then the sensors would go off. Car accelerating and braking in a weird way would definitely lead to some issues. And when you go to the dealership for this issue, first they won't be able to diagnose it. They will simple reset the codes and say uts an intermittent failure and charge you 100 dollars for nothing. Then you have to go again the other day with the same issue and then they tell you its speed sensor. I think that's a bad service and since honda knows of this beong common issue with how they have placed the sensor it should be recalled.

I’m having a problem with my steering . It’s like it’s sticky and jerky feeling when driving, causing me to have to overcorrect left or right when making slight adjustments to center. Obviously more noticeable with highway driving. Took to Honda they diagnosed it as VSA Module, got it fixed still having the same issue with sticky steering. I don’t feel safe driving my car

About a week ago my car began going into accessory mode on its own leaving my interior and exterior lights, my dash board lights and my head unit on until i noticed so my car couldve been dead if i wouldnt have seen. also since the car is locked and it goes into accessory mode on its own the alarm starts going off due to the security system thinking its being broken into. ive done my research trying to figure out what the issue is and ive found a huge amount of other people are also dealing with this issue. during my research i found that the cause for the car going into accessory mode and the alarms going off is the body control module. so many people are saying they filed complaints and tried to get a hold of honda to try and get a recall started but nothing has come of it and im hoping that you guys can change that. i looked into the body control module and you cant even get the part right now due to very high demand and the part being on back order indefinitely due to so many people dealing with this issue. i hope something can come of this thank you.

BCM module in the 2017 Civics seem to have constant Parasitic Battery Drain issues that are not being addressed by Honda. My battery died and was replaced, drain continue on a daily basis. Was able to trace to BCM module. checked online to find numerous other people having the same exact issue.

My vehicles Body Control Module has malfunctioned and now I have to get a new one. When driving my car will begin to flash all of the warning lights including the power steering, break system, TMPS system and the immobilizer light. This is distracting while driving and it makes me feel like I am going to crash and I could injure myself or others on the road when these lights are distracting and I am not in a safe place to pull over. Honda Marysville has inspected the vehicle and has confirmed that the Body Control Module has failed. A bunch of alerts began to pop up and I was unsure of which ones to fix. I checked all my tires and they were within normal range so I was confused why my car was showing me the warning light. There were no other warnings that were shown. My car alarm would go off and the lights on the dash would flash when I turned my car off.

Body control module/ECU had to be reset at dealership and possible replacement in near future. Glitch occurred and cut power to hazards, turn signals, lights, door locks, etc. during operation of vehicle.

There is a short in the BCM (body control module). This causes massive parasitic drain on my battery of over an amp (roughly 1.2 amps typically). I have to pull the fuse for it (fuse 18 in the engine bay fuse box) every time I leave my car off for more than a couple hours. I'm extremely worried this short is going to cause either a fire or one of the important functional systems of my car to stop working while I'm driving. I have read MANY other reports of this happening to other 2017 Honda Civics yet Honda hasn't done anything about it.

2nd attempt. I went to download pictures and was kicked out of site. 2017 Honda Civic EX Sedan bought used 2021. So far I've needed 2 new batteries in a very short amount of time. Multiple warning lights are appearing when I start car. Charging System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, Charging System Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem, Brake Hold System Problem. Yes, charging System Problem was showing twice. Available for inspection. Yes, my safety is at risk, I'm afraid and paranoid on what else could happen while I'm driving. I'm afraid to drive my car for my own safety. You know Honda, my Life matters too! I've went online and read others with similar problems from used to brand new, going into Limp mode not being able to drive over 40 mph and myself being severely inconvenienced with my JOB. Dealership appt this Tuesday. Occurances: Nov 13 12:32 pm 12.19 TWICE 12.21 Once 12.26.23 9:39am AND 11:23am AND 1:10pm 1.2.24 10:21 am 1.4.24 11:42 am AND 12:34 pm 1.5.24 11:13 am 1.6.24 11:37 am brake light came on, binging, then went away. 1.6.24 12:12pm. This is happening almost everyday now. Thank you!!

My apologies, I just filled out a form (Your Complaint Number: 11563943) and forgot to add problems with AC with my 2017 Honda Civic EX Sedan. My AC went out, went to local dealership, they recharged this around August 2023 I believe. Good now, but my point is I'd ask how long this will last. They said they don't know. I'm like a day, week, month(s)? Again they couldn't say. I live in a very warm area during the Summer, need AC and I need a cool AC environment when driving. I think I deserve to be comfortable. At the dealership, I had mentioned about a Honda recall letter I received about AC. It was either the Compressor or Condenser that is recalled, I forget. Well, they stated after looking at my car, that it was the item that isn't covered. Bill would be close to $1,000.00, I believe. Come on. I find this shady, confusing and concerning with Honda. Thank you again for your help!!! Yes my Life is at risk with this as well. Again, my Life matters also! This is my 4th Honda and I never had so many things go sideways with the last three Hondas as I'm experiencing now with this 2017 Civic EX. This is just ridiculous. Just about fed up with Honda.

Keep getting LANE KEEPING and ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL errors randomly as well as BRAKE SYSTEM warning lights. Took to Honda and they said my camera and radar were functioning fine and recalibrated to be sure. I’m still receiving error messages daily.

Car was draining battery because it would turn on randomly. They replaced the ignition switch, which didn’t work, then the alarm would go off constantly so I took it back to dealership. They said the part is backordered and they have NO idea how long it will be. It has been nearly 2 months, and I NEED my car for work and my 3 kids. I understand this is a well known issue, and the 2018-2019 models were recalled. Dealer says the have several similar issues with the 2017 models. I got a Honda for reliability, but instead I have had the worst car issues of any I have driven.

BCM Failed causing an electrical start problem and the car will not completely turn off. With BCM failed doors will not unlock with the remote and the car fails to start or starts and fails to turn off. This is a known problem with these cars that honda will not address and a safety concern for my family as the car has turned itself off while in motion.

Car has a faulty board control module. Car randomly starts itself in accessory mode, even when key fob is not present or batteries are removed. Other times, car will click and not turn on, or show random error messages. Car will intermittently not start; shows “keyless start system problem.” Car alarm randomly goes off. Car will intermittently not turn off once started. Internet search reveals multiple other individuals with the same problem, sometimes covered under warranty and other times not. Honda of America is sometimes helpful and other times, not. Problems are intermittent and difficult to reproduce, necessitating additional diagnostics by dealers. Among other problems reported are problems with door locks, windshield wipers, and headlights. I have concerns that the electrical problems will lead to serious safety issues, such as: lights turning on or off while driving; inability to turn off ignition in an emergency; wipers not working during rain (wet conditions seem to correlate to more problems, for other drivers and for me, suggesting an issue with corrosion), or getting locked into/out of the vehicle in an emergency.

My 2017 Honda Civic Touring, has had two major issues in the past two months. So far, I have put about $3,000 in these issues. Issue 1:Two months ago, they found a leak in the front seal of the compressor, and it had to be replaced. There is no extended warranty on the compressor (only the condenser), though it seems to be a big issue for the Civic. This expense was approximately $2000. Issue 2:Long story short, a few weeks ago, my car alarm started going off about every four hours and had killed my battery by the next morning. During this time, my key fabs no longer worked and we had to jump the car to take it to the shop. The Body Control Module had gone out with no pervious warnings. Honda told my mechanic they’re on backorder and it will be nine months to a year before they could get a replacement. They located a used one and installed it. Though they were told it was a match, it was missing certain elements that my car had – back seat windows, auto lock when you exit your car, and front led blinkers. My front blinkers no longer work, and the previous Honda was probably bulbs. Needless to say, this can only be a temporary fix because it’s dangerous and won’t pass inspection. So far this expense has cost approximately $900. I’ve emailed Honda, and my issue has been ignored. They haven’t offered to help for either case. These things should not be happening to civics with this low mileage and age. So I now have a new BCM on backorder with a Honda dealer, and some time down the road, I will be paying for this expense again.

These cars have horrendous AC issues. A spotlight needs to be on put on it. Broken AC can subject drivers to dangerously high temperatures in the cabin, even if the windows are rolled down in some climates. Honda, the maker of these vehicles, is still answerable for the supplier of the compressor/ac system, Keihin's, failures. There are many of us, but we haven't been able to connect the dots to see how many have truly been affected. I nearly suffered heatstroke driving this car. Was dizzy the night of at home, with outdoor temperatures reaching triple digits (Fahrenheit).

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the rear door locks were making squeaking sounds and the alarm would inadvertently be engaged at night. The contact stated that the vehicle would fail turn off and would go into ACC mode. The contact was unable to lock the doors. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the BCM had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V771000 (Electrical System, Back Over Prevention, Visibility/Wiper, Visibility, Exterior Lighting) because the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 39,500.

After a sever rainstorm and ice storm a code that causes BCM (Body Control Module) fault code to show up. It affected systems such as Intermittent lock or unlock trunk and door while vehicle is in operation, Failure to start and Security alarm active at random times. An independent service found the "B12D1" code that indicated the BCM has failed during the prescribed process by the manufacture. The problem was reproduced during an ice storm in 2019 and 2022 causing this error code while vehicle is exposed to weather.

Wiring harness was "damaged by rodents" twice due to the swap to soy-based, edible wiring. No other vehicles have this issue in my area and I have lived here 5 years. This damage causes all electrical systems to fail, including power steering, and will eventually result in a fatality - if it has not already. Honda will not cover this under warranty and has done nothing to resolve the issue! The alleged "spicy tape fix" does not deter rodents.

19-033 19-038 honda sb Extended powertrain warranty. Included dtc codes for misfire. Dealer refuses to honor warranty Still have code for misfire. It's not fixed Honda has multiple issues across all model lines w fuel injectors It causes all warnings lights to go off on dash. Honda has case number already. Cylinder 4 misfire Cylinder 1-3 injectors bad. When did cars work with out injectors? It's a powertrain product. No where on sb does it state or imply certain conditions Also Honda in 2019 sent all owners 2016-2018 letters extending warranty. Especially w the misfire codes Per sb. To e ensure customer confidence i in our product, Honda IS extending ther powertrain warranty from the original 5 years/ 60,000 miles to 6 years with unlimited mileage from the original sale date This warranty extension applies to any engine 6 components, such as camshafts , rocker arm assemblies, or spark plugs, requiring repair due to damage resulting from hose concerns identified in the first paragraph. The ECU and TCM software is covered under the vehicle's emissions 5 warranty beyond 6 years. Irony same motor family is in the fit. Exact same code sb is....replace injectors 20-002

The board control module failed and replacements are not available. Available for inspection upon request. Due to the component failing, the vehicle goes to accessory mode randomly or even to its on without engine mode. The wireless key will not grant access during these times or remote start. Without constantly charging the battery, the vehicle will completely discharge its battery. This issue has been verified with the dealership and component inspected. No warning lamps gave away the process of the failure. warning lights only appear now after jumping the vehicle from a depleted battery due to the failure.

On two (2) separate occasions the engine wiring harness was damaged by rodents. The damaged wiring harness compromised the power steering system, braking system and stability control system. Failure of these critical systems put the safety and welfare of myself, my family and all drivers on the road in danger of serious injury and death. The damaged wiring harness is in my possession and available for inspection. The local Honda dealership and numerous other sources have stated the manufacturer is using a soy based plant material to produce the wire casing that attracts rodents to chew and permanently damage the food based wiring components. The local Honda dealership inspected and verified the cause and the effect of the damage. Steering, braking and stability control warning lights were indicated while driving the vehicle and prior to driving in subsequent trips

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated the ventilation system became inoperable. While the blower was in the on position, the windshield fogged up. The temperature increased to high. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the condenser needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact was informed that the coolant needed to be flushed and also that there was a hole in the radiator causing a coolant leak. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000.

This is a known issue with Hondas from 2016 and up where the Body Control Module (BCM) is faulty and malfunctioning. When the car turns off, it turns itself back on and makes noises to turn itself back on. This issue may cause possible electrical issues that may short and start a fire internally. Honda dealerships across the country have known about this issue for many years, yet they have not fixed the problem. There are youtube videos entailing the same occurrences in a lot of other people's cars, including myself. My vehicle has not been inspected but spoke with several Honda dealerships about the issue, and they are all aware of the issue, yet have no solution but to replace it. The BCM is on backorder for months and people are without cars to use due to the repeated occurrences for everybody. There are no signs of any issues before the faulty BCM malfunctions. Dealerships charge $1500-2500 for car repairs that they are not able to fix due to the backorder of the component. If this issue has been going on for several years, why hasn't Honda fixed and replace the issue, instead of knowing the issue and making their customers pay a large amount of money to fix what they know will go wrong? Faulty Body Control Module which controls many electronic systems in the car. Alarm started going off while car was parked in the garage. Went off twice within 12 hour period—once in the middle of the night. Car has to be accessed and turned on to stop alarm. Issues with vehicle recognizing key. Body Control Module was replaced at my expense.

Key-less start system problem.... Car has 55000 miles and has been serviced at local Honda dealer on time every time. Car will start up in accessory mode after being turned off and goes into alarm. To turn off alarm I have to use door key. Keyless Remote does not work during the alarm stage and will work after restarting car. I have to unhook battery to keep car from alarming. I have already had remote replaced and reprogrammed. I have to go through a new system reset every time I use the car. Honda could not find a code error. I am concerned this is a major and dangerous problem with the electrical system, possibly control module or push start button. I have read numerous complaints of this issue online from many different Honda models including mine.

Air conditioning started to blow hot and the Freon was low. Had to refill the Freon which is using the new R-1234yf fluid which is hard to find at autozone and is very expensive for a 1 pound can at $50. Still cheaper than a mechanic or dealership price. Problem is that the car has 27000 miles and has only been driven sparingly and was never abused. A month later and it’s starting to blow warmer only on 100 degree weather. I currently cannot afford to have full repairs done to the AC. Never had hit anything with my car. Paint and interior is in near excellent condition. So it’s obviously not my fault. Honda should be ashamed.

happens with out the key near the car. 2017 Honda Civic, Car will trigger itself to start to accessory mode, turning on headlights, wipers (if switch is on), and sometimes triggering the alarm system when locked and armed. just the electronics turn on by itself. It occurs both when I am in the vehicle, and when no keys are in the vehicle sometimes every error message shows. Several times I will go to my car and the system will be on, or the car will be dead and have to be jumped from being on without me knowing. I'm currently disconnecting the battery. STARTED CAR TO RUN AN ERRAND, AND A BUNCH OF ERROR/PROBLEM CODES APPEARED ON DASH ONE BY ONE AS WELL AS ENGINE LIGHT. ALL YELLOW LIGHTS. THE CAR WAS STILL ABLE TO DRIVE WITH NO PROBLEMS BUT IT DISPLAYED ON DASH WITH EVERY PROBLEM. HAD NO ISSUE TURNING ON, STAYING IN MOTION, SITTING IDLE FOR 30 MIN, OR BRAKING, YET EVERY ISSUE WAS STILL ON DISPLAY AFTER MULTIPLE STARTUPS. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD ME BRING IT IN BUT SHOULD ONLY TAKE A COUPLE OF HOURS. HAD TO LEAVE OVERNIGHT AND IS NOW LATE AFTERNOON. SERVICE IS MAKING REPAIRS AND SOFTWARE UPDATES AT THE APPROVAL OF AMERICAN HONDA (NOT EVEN INVOLVING EXTENDED WARRANTY.) FAIRLY CERTAIN THAT THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THAT HONDA HAS HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS.

MY CAR ALARM RANDOMLY STARTED GOING OFF WHILE PARKED FOR THREE DAYS, THREE DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE DAY. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED BACK TO BACK AT 2AM WHILE PARKED. I TRIED TURNING IT OFF WITH MY KEY FOB AND IT WOULD NOT REGISTER. I OPENED THE CAR WITH THE KEY IN THE FOB AND PUSHED THE START BUTTON, THE ENGINE STARTED AND I REMAINED PARKED. THEN I TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF, INSTEAD THE LIGHTS FLICKERED ON THE DASH AND THE CAR STAYED ON. I TRIED IT 2 MORE TIMES AND IT FINALLY TURNED OFF THE ENGINE BUT NOT THE DASH. ALL THE WARNING SIGNS CAME ON THE CAR INCLUDING A BREAK SYSTEMS ERROR AND A TIRE PRESSURE ERROR. AFTER THIS, I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT OF MY FOB AND NOW THE CAR BATTERY IS DEAD. I POWERED UP THE BATTERY TODAY BUT THE CAR WON'T START. THE DASH TURNS ON BUT THEN IT JUST FLICKERS AND GIVES ME ALL THE SAME WARNING SIGNS. I FOUND THERE WERE RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE ON 2016 CIVICS AND THAT THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO 2017 AND 2018 CIVIC AS WELL. MINE IS A 2017 CIVI AND IT'S HAVING ALL THESE ISSUES THAT COULD BE DEADLY IF THEY HAPPEN ON THE FREEWAY.

THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IN MY STATE, CELL PHONES AND ANY OTHER FORM OF ELECTRONICS ARE NOT PERMITTED. SO WHEN BEING ON THE PHONE OR USING GPS IT SHUTS EVERYTHING DOWN AND THATS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I RECENTLY WENT TO MANY HONDA DEALERS AND THEY HAVE CONTACTED HONDA NORTH AMERICA BUT THEY TOLD ME HONDA DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE AND THAT THEY RECALLED THE 2016 HONDA CIVICS FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE, BUT SINCE THEY DIDN'T RECALL THE 2017 HONDA CIVICS THEN THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THIS PROBLEM IS STRESSING ME OUT BECAUSE I CAN'T FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON MY GPS OR ANSWER IMPORTANT CALLS IF NEEDED. MY SON AND I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED 2017 HONDA CIVIC SEDAN ON DEC 3RD FROM HONDA OF LISLE IL. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED WITH 22,100 MILES. AS HE WAS DRIVING TO THE DEALER HE GOT ABOUT 1 MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN BLACK SMOKE STARTED POURING OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE CAR FROZE UP AND IMMEDIATELY BURST INTO FLAMES. THANKFULLY IT HAPPENED ON A SIDE STREET AS HE WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A LAW THAT THEY NEED TO TAKE IT BACK WITHIN 15 DAYS OR LESS THAN 500 MILES, THEY ESSENTIALLY TOLD ME IT WASN'T THEIR PROBLEM AND I NEEDED TO GET MY INSURANCE INVOLVED. A FIRE INSPECTOR HIRED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY LOOKED AT THE TOTALED VEHICLE AND SUSPECTED THE FIRE STARTED NEAR THE BATTERY. MY INSURANCE COMPANY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE A FIRE ENGINEER INSPECT IT AT A COST OF $5,000 THEREFORE THEY WILL NOT PURSUE FURTHER. CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE AND THE ALARM SET ITSELF OFF MULTIPLE TIMES, WHEN I APPROACHED THE CAR IT WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO ANY KEY FOB COMMANDS AND THE DASHBOARD WAS COMPLETELY LIT WITH FLASHING SAFETY FEATURE WARNING LIGHTS, AND AIRBAGS WERE ALSO DISABLED. HAD TO OPEN THE CAR WITH THE MANUAL KEY, SINCE THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND TO THE KEY FOB. STARTED THE CAR TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON, WHEN I WENT TO TURN IT OFF AGAIN, IT REFUSED AND WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I PROCEEDED TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AFTER MULTIPLE FAILED ATTEMPTS TO GET THE CAR TO RESPOND TO THE KEY FOB AND THEY TURNED THE CAR OFF. TWO DAYS LATER I DROVE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE WHOLE WAY THERE ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON AND ALL THE SAFETY FEATURES WERE DISABLED AND NOT WORKING. DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO COOPERATE OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AT HAND. TOOK IT TWO TIMES JUST TO BE TURNED AWAY AND TOLD THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME OUT, AS THEY CLAIMED THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR, EVEN THOUGH WHEN WE WENT TO PICK IT UP THE VEHICLE WAS STILL NOT WORKING. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW, I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER, ONLY HAS 14,600 MILES. DEALERSHIP MANAGER TOLD US THAT CORPORATE HONDA COMMANDED HIM NOT TO TOUCH THE VEHICLE AND TO TELL US TO PICK IT UP. SOMETIMES, WHEN TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT WILL NOT CRANK AND START. THE ELECTRIC POWER WILL COME ON (DASH BOARD ICONS, HEADLIGHTS, ETC.), BUT IT WILL NOT CRANK. IT TAKES FROM 2 TO 7 TURNS OF THE KEY, BEFORE IT CRANKS AND STARTS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS SOMETIMES ONCE A WEEK, SOMETIMES 2 OR 3 TIMES. I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALER FOR REPAIR. HOWEVER, ON THE DAY I TOOK IT IN, OF COURSE, IT WAS WORKING FINE. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT THEIR COMPUTER COULD NOT DIAGNOSIS IT, UNLESS THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE IT WAS HOOKED TO THE COMPUTER. I WENT TO GO START MY VEHICLE AFTER LEAVING WORK AT 4 AM, 5/9/2019. UPON TRYING TO START MY VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS STIFF. I COULD NOT START THE VEHICLE. MY CAR'S LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING, WITH A WEIRD CLICKING NOISE BEING MADE. ON THE DASHBOARD, THE SYSTEM STARTED STATING "ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE PROBLEM". "MANUAL BRAKE PROBLEM", "STABILITY PROBLEM", AND A COUPLE OTHER ERRORS. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, AND UPON DOING RESEARCH, THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE WITH 2016-2018 HONDA CIVICS. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT ON, AND I HAVE NEVER USED THAT FEATURE. AT THE TIME OF THIS COMPLAINT, MY VEHICLE IS SITTING IN MY WORK'S FULL PARKING LOT, AND I AM STRANDED.

I BOUGHT MY 2017 CIVIC BRAND NEW IN MAY 2017. EVER SINCE I HAD THIS CAR THE ELECTRONICS DON'T ALWAYS WORK. VOLUME DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK ON THE STEERING WHEEL OR ON THE DIGITAL RADIO. I'LL HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON TO BE ABLE TO USE THE VOLUME. TWO DIFFERENT TIMES MY CAR WOULDN'T TURN OFF WHILE IN PARK. I HAD TO SIT OVER 5 MINUTES IN PARK BEFORE IT WOULD TURN OFF WITH PUSHING THE START BUTTON OVER AND OVER. THE RADIO GOES STATICKY EVERY TIME I USE THE DEFROST BUTTON. FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS MY CAR NOW MAKES A BEEPING NOISE HERE AND THERE THAT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S COMING FROM THE DASH/RADIO. DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR IS IN DRIVE OR PARK. EVERY TIME I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO HONDA THEY COULDN'T FIX ANYTHING SINCE THE CODES DIDN'T PULL UP WHEN THEY PLUGGED THEIR COMPUTER INTO MY CAR. THE RADIO TURNED OFF, THE SCREEN WENT BLACK, THE COMPUTER DASHBOARD FLASHED UNTIL FINALLY THE 'H' HONDA LOGO APPEARED ON THE RADIO SCREEN RESETTING ITSELF. SCARING ME TO BELIEVE THE CAR WAS SHUTTING DOWN OR ABOUT TO MALFUNCTION WHILE I WAS DRIVING! THREE MONTHS LATER THE RADIO, SATELLITE, SIDE MIRROR CAMERA, REAR BACKUP CAMERA EVERY THING ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMPUTER BRAIN OF THIS CAR COMPLETELY WENT OUT! NOTHING CAN BE RESET THROUGH THE RADIO AS IT'S JUST STUCK. HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS NO EXPLANATION OTHER REPLACEMENT FOR SAFETY! DEALERSHIP REACHED OUT TO HONDA FOR ASSISTANCE AS I'VE EXCEEDED 36,000 MILE COMPLEMENTARY WARRANTY. HONDA ACTUALLY TOOK RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS MALFUNCTION AT FIRST, STATING THEY WOULD PAY/COVER MAJORITY OF COST LEAVING BALACE OF $300. I FOUND THIS TO BE CRAZY, AS THIS ELECTICAL MALFUNCTION WAS NO FAULT OF MY OWN & SHOULD INITIATE RECALL! MY 2017 HONDA CIVIC HATCHBACK, WITH 13,015 MILES ON IT, WAS IN MY CARPORT AND HAD ONLY BEEN SITTING 2 DAYS WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON AND THE CAR BEGAN THROWING WARNINGS OF ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS HAVING PROBLEMS. FOR EXAMPLE THE TPMS, ELECTRIC PARKING BREAK, BRAKE SYSTEM, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING, HILL START ASSIST AND MORE. AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO SURPRISE HONDA (BIG MISTAKE) AND THEY SAW THAT MY HARNESS (PART NUMBER 53682-TSA-A01) WAS CHEWED BY RODENTS WHICH CAUSED THE PROBLEM. HONDA SAYS AND KNOWS THIS WIRING IS MADE FROM SOY BASED MATERIAL WHICH ATTRACTS RODENTS. HONDA EVEN HAS A SPECIAL SPICY TAPE, WHICH THEY CHARGE FOR AS WELL, THAT THEY CAN USE TO WRAP THE WIRING TO DETER THE RODENTS (WHICH THE SERVICE MGR SAID REALLY DOESN'T WORK.) HONDA SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. THEY REPLACED THE WIRING AND IT COST ME 370.00 DOLLARS. THE PART ITSELF WAS ONLY 20.00 DOLLARS. IT IS 108 DEGREES OUTSIDE THE RODENTS ARE NOT GOING INTO MY ENGINE TO KEEP WARM!! THE SOY BASE WIRING IS ATTRACTING THEM TO DO THE DAMAGE. HONDA AND THEIR DEALERSHIP WERE OF NO HELP WHATSOEVER EXCEPT TO MAKE MONEY OFF A POOR CHOICE IN THEIR SOY BASE WIRING.

I WAS LEAVING A PARKING LOT, APPROACHING A GATE WITH AN INDUCTIVE-LOOP TRAFFIC DETECTOR, WHICH CAN DETECT VEHICLES PASSING OR ARRIVING AT A CERTAIN POINT, ONCE A VEHICLE IS DETECTED THE GATE WOULD OPEN. I WAS APPROACHING, MAYBE 50 FEET FROM THE GATE, AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, WHEN THE ENGINE OF MY 2017 HONDA CIVIC REVVED UP AND ACCELERATED FORWARD TOWARDS THE GATE. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR, AS I WAS APPROACHING THE GATE WHICH WAS STILL CLOSED. THERE WAS NO DEBRIS ON THE FLOOR BOARD OR ANYTHING OBSTRUCTING THE PEDALS THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED IT TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR. I HAD TO ABRUPTLY DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID STRIKING THE GATE. MY HONDA IS EQUIPPED WITH HONDA SENSING AND I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS COULD HAVE OCCURRED, MAY BE AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE SENSOR BECAUSE THE "BRAKE" WARNING WAS ON, IT OBSERVED THE GATE.

I THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD RAMMED INTO MY CAR. WHEN THE AIRBAG BLEW, IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE HAD FIRED A COUPLE OF 12 GUAGE SHOTGUNS IN THE VEHICLE.SMOKE WAS BILLOWING OUT FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN. IT SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WAS ON FIRE. THE IMPACT FROM THE EXPLODING AIRBAG WAS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE TO SAY THE LEAST. BY THE TIME I UNBUCKLED MY SEAT BELT TO EXIT THE CAR, THE SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE WAS SO THICK I COULD NOT SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD. MY CHEST AND HAND ARE SORE, BUT NOTHING APPEARS TO BE BROKEN. I LEFT THE VEHICLE WHERE IT WAS PARKED AND HAVE MADE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIOP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR, SO THAT A COMPLETE EVALUATION CAN BE DONE TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE THAT RESULTED FROM THE EXPLODING AIRBAG. WHEN I CHECKED THE VIN ON THIS WEBSITE, IT DID NOT COME UP AS BEING ON THE AIRBAG RECALL. THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE ASAP. THANK GOODNESS I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE. STARTING ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES ON MY 2017 HONDA CIVIC THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF OLD AND ONLY HAS 18K MILES ON IT. IT FIRST STARTED AROUND THE FALL LAST YEAR WITH MY CAR REPEATEDLY POPPING THE TRUNK WHEN I WOULD NOT BE NEAR IT AND WOULD COME OUT TO IT IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK AND FIND MY TRUNK WIDE OPEN. LATER ON I FOUND OUT THE TRUNK POPPING OPEN WOULD FORCE THE CAR ALARM TO GO OFF FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND OCCASIONALLY WOULD LEAD TO A DEAD BATTERY. WHEN I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE ISSUE INVESTIGATED THE TECHNICIANS TOLD ME THE COULDN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT SHOULDN'T CONTINUE (IT HAS CONTINUED AND IN FACT IS HAPPENING AS I TYPE THIS IN MY APARTMENT). THE NEXT ISSUE OCCURRED ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN THE POURING RAIN AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY. UPON HAVING THIS PROBLEM INSPECTED THE TECHNICIANS DETERMINED IT WAS "FAULTY" WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTORS AND HAD BOTH REPLACED. THE LATEST ISSUE THAT OCCURRED WAS AS I WAS DRIVING TO PENSACOLA FROM WASHINGTON AND STOPPED OFF AT A REST STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE OREGON FOR SOME SLEEP. UPON WAKING UP (3HRS AFTER I SHUT THE CAR OFF) I DISCOVERED MY CAR WAS DOING SOME GLITCHY THING WITH ALL THE LIGHTS AND DASHBOARD WHERE IT WAS ACTING LIKE I WAS TURNING IT OFF AND ON. I HAD NOTHING TURNED ON OR PLUGGED IN WHEN I WENT TO SLEEP AND WHEN I WOKE UP THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAD TOTALLY DISABLED THE CAR.

A VIDEO THAT SHOWED HOW THE FAILURE OCCURRED WAS SHOWN TO THE DEALER, BUT STILL NO DIAGNOSIS WAS MADE. IN ADDITION, WHILE CONNECTING THE BLUETOOTH TO THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, IT FAILED TO CONNECT. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON IN ORDER FOR THE BLUETOOTH FUNCTION TO CONNECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A FIELD TECHNICIAN WOULD BE SENT TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,500.

THEY REPLACED THE WIRING AND IT COST ME 268.00 DOLLARS. THE PART ITSELF WAS ONLY 28.00 DOLLARS. THIS THEN HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN EXACTLY 2 WEEKS LATER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AGAIN. THIS TIME I FOUND OUT THERE IS A FIX FOR THIS. A SPICY TAPE THAT HONDA MAKES THAT CAN BE WRAPPED AROUND THE WIRING TO RESIST RODENTS I DON'T KNOW HOW EFFECTIVE THIS IS.THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE TAPE.. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO SINCE THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN GOING ON THE 2ND DAY. THER IS A CLASS ACTION SUITE THAT WAS FILED FOR THIS VERY SAME REASON. THIS DATES ALL THE WAY BACK TO 2010 I WAS TOLD.

ENGINE SHAKES/SHUDDERS ON START, AGAIN "NORMAL OPERATION" PER DEALER & HONDA TECH. POOR HORN PERFORMANCE, PER DEALER ONLY A SINGLE LOW NOTE HORN INSTALLED. NOT LOUD ENOUGH TO BE HEARD EASILY. OWNER EXPENSE TO UPGRADE TO BETTER (LOUDER) UNIT. ELECTRICAL GLITCHES STILL ONGOING ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW, VEHICLE HAS 20,000 MILES. THIS 10TH GEN CIVIC NOT RELIABLE & MAY PROVE A SAFETY CONCERN LONG-TERM. AM UNABLE TO AFFORD REPLACING THIS VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. ELECTRONIC BRAKING FAILURE AND MISCELLANEOUS ELECTRIC GLITCHES. AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE WARNING LIGHT AND BRAKES ARE LOCKED IN PARK. I HAVE HAD 3 DIFFERENT ELECTRIC GLITCHES. FIRST LESS THAN 2 WEEKS OF PURCHASING MY 2017 CIVIC TURN SIGNAL WAS STUCK ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. SECOND 1 MONTH AFTER DASH SCREEN WOULD NOT LOAD. IT WAS "BUFFERING / THINKING" TOOK IT TO AND DEALER COULDN'T FIND THE CAUSE BUT FIXED WITH A HARD RESET AND IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN AND CHECKED FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES AND IT WAS CURRENT. THIRD PROBLEM A 2 WEEKS LATER, STARTED THE CAR AND GOT BRAKE FAILURE WARNING LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. CAR WOULDN'T MOVE PARKING BRAKES LOCKED UP. TRIED TO PUSH THE BRAKE HOLD AND PARKING BRAKE TO MANUALLY DISENGAGE BUT WOULDN'T. HAD IT TOWED TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. THEY DID A SECOND HARD RESET. I QUESTION IF MY CIVIC WAS PART OF THE 2016 / PARTIAL 2017 RECALL FOR ELECTRIC GLITCH THAT INCLUDED THE PARKING BRAKE ISSUE.

SINCE THE FIRST DAY DRIVING LESS THAN 10 MILES HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL, A C AND DRIVE TRAIN OR WHEEL PROBLEMS. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TRANSFERRED.FROM A SANTA BARBARA CA DEALERSHIP TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP IN SAN LUIS OBISPO CA. THEY CALLED ME ON A SUNDAY TO SAY THE CAR WAS THERE IT WAS RAINING AND DARK. CAR HAD 400+ MILES ONE IT AND SAFETY CHECK HAD NOT BEEN DONE SINCE IT WAS ORIGINALLY RECEIVED WHEN IS WAS 0. ON THE 7TH OF A 10 MILE RIDE HOME THE WHOLE.ENTIRE DASHBOARD FIRST SIZZLED OUT LIKE AN OLD COMPUTER.MONITOR GOING BAD THEN.COMPLETELY WENT BLANK. I COULD NOT TELL HOW FAST I WAS GOING. AT THAT POINT I HAD NOT YET HOOKED UP MY PHONE.TO APPLE.PLAY WHICH IS A WHOLE NOTHER SOFTWARE ENDLESS.GLITCH BAG OF ISSUES. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR ABOUT A YEAR. IT POPPED THE HOOD AND ALMOST BURNED MY HANDS ON THE HOOD ARM. THE DIGITAL DASH TURNS BLACK AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A MONTH (NO MILES.PER HOUR, ETC). EVERY OTHER DAY MY IN DASH FACTORY SCREEN RADIO GOES BLACK. THE CAR UNLOCKS ITSELF OVERNIGHT EVERY FEW DAYS. MOST IF THIS INCREASES WITH FREQUENCY WHEN IT RAINS. AT LEAST ONE TIME A WEEK THE CAR WON'T UNLOCK BY TOUCH EVEN THO I HAVE THE KEY ON ME. SINCE DAY ONE THE CLIMATE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY TURN ON FULL BLAST. SINCE DAY ONE RIGHT FRONT LOUD BEARING NOISE NEAR TIE ROD ARM AND LOUD KNOCK/BEARING/BUMP NOISR IN DRIVE TRAIN AREA; UNDER DASH AND IN AND INSIDE DOORS AND SUN ROOF RATTLE SO LOUD I HAVE TO TURN UP THE MUSIC NOT TO HEAR IT LIKE PARTS ARE LOOSE, AT 9 MONTHS HOT FULL BLAST 90+ DEGREE HEAT COMES ON WHEN THE A C IS TURNED ON (STUCK.IN HEAT MODE) EVENTUALLY AFTER BEING TURNED OFF WILL RESET ITSELF THEN WORK NORMAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN 4 TINES IN THE PAST WEEK. SINCE DAY ONE TURN SIGNALS GET STUCK AND DON'T DISENGAGE UNLESS FORCIBLY FORCED. NO CLEAR COAT ON DOOR JAMS. HOOD, TRUNK AND DOORS HAVE UNEVEN GAPS/MISALIGNED.CRACKED LIGHTS

SECOND TIME WHILE DRIVING DOWN HWY, ALL ERROR LIGHTS ON DASH CAME ON, I HAVE 10 OR SO PHOTOS, OF THE INCIDENT, SPEEDOMETER READ 0 GOING UPWARD OF 50 MPH, POWER STEERING WAS GOING IN AND OUT AND VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE BEING IN COLORADO. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING FREEDOM HONDA CO SPRINGS, CO. NOW ITS THE 3RD TIME A REPEAT OF THE SECOND TIME EVERY INDICATOR ERROR LIGHT ILLUMINATING, NO SPEEDOMETER, AND POWER STEERING INTERMITTENT AGAIN. THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I AM DROPPING THE VEHICLE OFF FRIDAY 9/8/2017 FOR DIAGNOSIS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-999-1009 AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST IF THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110.

I LEASED MY HONDA CIVIC FROM HERB CHAMBERS HONDA OF BOSTON IN NOV. 2016. IN MARCH 2017 MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICING, THEY TOLD ME THAT RODENTS HAD CHEWED ON THE WIRES UNDER MY VEHICLE. AFTER I DID SOME RESEARCH ON MY OWN, I FOUND OUT THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND MY CAR RECEIVED DAMAGE TO THE WIRING (UNDER MY CAR) DUE TO THE SOYBEAN COATING THAT HONDA IS USING ON THE WIRE COVERS. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT COVERED BY THE DEALERSHIP OR WARRANTY. REMIND YOU "THIS IS A LEASE." MY BRAND- NEW LEASED CAR WAS COMPLETED DEAD AND WOULDN'T EVEN TURN ON. I AM LUCKY IT DIDN'T DIE ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. I HAVE READ ONLINE COMPLAINTS THAT THIS HAS HAD TO OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS DAMAGE TO THEIR VEHICLES. I WAS QUOTED $2,600 IN REPAIRS. I ENDED UP PAYING A $500 DEDUCTIBLE TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THERE ARE CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS IN PLACE IN CA AND OTHER STATES REGARDING THE "SOY-BASED WIRE COVERING." THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE MADE BY HONDA.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND THE RPMS DECREASED TO ZERO. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT AFTER A FEW MINUTES, BUT THE ENGINE SHOOK. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. ALTHOUGH THEY WERE ON THE FREEWAY, THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM RE-ROUTED THEM AS THOUGH THEY WERE ON THE STREET. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S RADIO FAILED. THE FAILURES OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SYSTEM NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE RADIO STILL FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TUNER AND ANTENNA NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE REARVIEW AND PASSENGER SIDE CAMERAS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONSOLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,900.

CAR IS AN EX AND HAS PREVIOUSLY TEST DRIVEN A 2017 CIVIC HATCHBACK SPORT THE DAY BEFORE . DROVE OFF WITH MY MEW CAR THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME WITH 450MILES. RIGHT AFTER I LEFT DEALERSHIP WITH MY BRAND NEW CAR AND WAS DRIVING HOME FOR FIRST TIME GOT ABOUT 6 MILES FROM DEALERSHIP AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS WITH DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER DISPLAYED FLASHED AND WENT DEAD (COMPLETELY BLANK A.K.A. BLACK SCREEN OF EARTH). I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 30-35 MPH . DROVE ANOTHER'S ANOTHER MILE (APPROX) WITH NO DIGITAL SPEED DISPLAY AT ALL- COMPLETELY BLACK INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (MAIN DISPLAY WHICH NORMALLY SHOWS DIGITAL MILES PER HOUR, TEMP GAUGE, ETC) AND TURNED ON RIGHT HAND SIGNAL TO MAKE RIGHT TURN AND ABOUT FIVE SECONDS LATER RIGHT SIDE CAMERA TURNED ON MEDIA DISPLAY TO RIGHT AND EVENTUALLY DIGITAL DASHBOARD SPEEDOMETER BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED BACK ON. EVERYTHING ON THE CAR IS COMPUTER CONTROLLED. THIS IS REALLY DANGEROUS. NOT SURE HOW F CAR HAS A BAD CPU OR ECU. CALLED DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY AS I HAS JUST DRIVEN AWAY 15 MINUTES BEFORE AND THEY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A BIG DEAL. I AM VERY CONCERNED.
