Both door handles need to be replaced at 800.00 a piece. Key fob to door handles causing parasitic draw to the battery and car goes dead. Risk - have to lift that 47 lb hood to jumpstart while putting my back out. Steroid injects on 12/2/2025. My Honda advisor and pain doctor are aware. Problem has been reproduced by my Honda advisor and mechanic at Crown Honda Florida. No warning lamps in this Honda Civic 2018 shows no low battery capability. Google search door handles causing parasitic draw. 1600.00 is a lot of money to pay so I hope there will be a recall.

I have replaced my battery twice. I have purchased a new door handle so it wouldn’t drain the electric in my vehicle. I was told to drive my car every day to keep my battery charged. I just walked out the door and my battery is dead. This has happened approximately 12 times since I have owned this vehicle and I believe there should be a recall because you cannot find the parasitic draw. Please help me. I cannot afford all these repairs and this should be a recall. I have seen lots of articles about the 2018 Honda Civic sedan please file this under a recall.

Mid 2025 my brakes started malfunctioning above 50 mph. Then they were stuck closed. It was found to be a faulty abs module. We replaced it with Honda in the phone. The second module failed within 2 weeks. Now my car is still sitting at the shop, and Honda still hasn't responded. It's been 2 months

Honda Civic 2018 EX keyless with BCM failure. Alarm won’t deactivate, engine won’t shut off. Only solution is battery disconnection. Issue reported in 2016+ models, Honda charges $1,000+. Full Complaint: My 2018 Honda Civic EX keyless has a serious electrical problem. The alarm activates and cannot be turned off with the key fob. I have to use the physical key to silence the horn, but the vehicle stays in accessory mode. If I start the car, I cannot turn off the engine. The only way is by disconnecting the battery cables, which is very dangerous since the ignition stays hot and could cause an electrical short. Honda knows about this defect but has not issued a recall. They are charging customers $1,000+ to replace the BCM. This problem has been reported in multiple Honda models from 2016 and newer, including the Honda Civic. In my opinion, this is a clear safety issue because if the vehicle cannot be turned off in an emergency, it could cause a serious accident or tragedy. I ask NHTSA to investigate and hold Honda accountable.

Aug 5, 2025

The electric power steering (EPS) system failed/malfunctioned this past week. When going over 35 mph my steering wheel would become "knotchy/jerky" and lock up and be difficult to turn. As a result, I took it to Honda to which they stated my whole rack and pinion needed total replacement. No warning signs, messages, icons, or lights came on in my car.

HONDA RECALL THE 2018 CIVIC FOR AC COMPRESSOR SHAFT SEAL AND THE DEALER REPAIR THE AC SYSTEM 3 TIMES AND THE PROBLEM WAS NOT FIX. ALSO HAS A RECALL FOR A FUEL PUMP MOTOR BUT IM NOT SURE IS WAS CORRECT IT FOR THE OLD OWNER.

Jan 16, 2025

Car battery died 3 times. Bought new battery after it being towed 2 times. 500. Door handle had to be replaced labor and costs over one thousand dollars. September 2024 bought used. This should be a recall.

The standard OEM key fobs for Honda Civics, for several model years, and possibly for other Honda models, have a "feature" that seriously affects driver and passenger safety, and that cannot be disabled. If two buttons are depressed simultaneously on the key fob for a period of time, all of the windows go down and the doors unlock. I have encountered dozens and dozens, perhaps hundreds, of owner complaints about this "feature" on various Internet bulletin boards. Typically, the stories go, "I parked downtown in an unsafe area and I came back to my car and found that it was unlocked with all of the windows open and someone stole everything from my car," or "I parked outside just before a rain storm and I returned to my car to find all of the windows open without my knowledge and the interior of my car was soaked." Single women could encounter this problem and be attacked by people hiding in the back seat. Apparently, if anything in one's pocket depresses the keys on the fob, without one's knowledge, this occurs. It has happened to me, where I'll bend down to tie my shoe and walk away and I'll return hours later to find all the windows open during a rain storm or in a bad part of town. I've asked American Honda numerous times for a way to disable this unwanted "feature" and they've said that they've not interested in addressing it unless they're forced to do so by the government. This is a serious safety issue, not only implicating potential crime, but a wet soaked car interior could affect electrical and navigation systems in a life-threatening way. If you respond, I can upload several Internet pages with owner comments and complaints about this problem.

1) Caused by faulty Body Control Module (BCM). 2) Can't enter car, key fob won't unlock car. Dashboard is illuminated when car is off, I can see it through my window. 3) Alarm horn went on when car is off. 4) Turn on my car, multiple errors, go to drive the car thinking I need to reset it from battery change. Shut off my car, but go to turn it back on. Car cranks but won't turn on, shows multiple errors on dash. 5) Dash shows "keyless start system problem" and car won't turn off. When pushing button to turn off car, head lights and a/c turn off but the engine still runs, push/start button flashes. Disconnected battery, still runs. Had to pull fuel or ECU fuse to stop the car running. 6) Can't reliably get my car to start. Issue is intermittent.

Car threw a p0035 code which indicates a problem with the turbo bypass valve solenoid high voltage/circuit. Car suddenly lost power and had many service lights go off. The check engine light, power steering, brakes, stability, and other lights went on. This prevents my car from going over 40 MPH without feeling like the car is struggling to accelerate. The dealership couldn't reproduce or confirm the issue when I went in for service. The code will disappear and reappear after a few starts ups. I noticed that the 2017 type R has this recall but I'm noticing a lot of other owners having this issue as well.

My AC system in my 2018 Honda has now failed twice under 80000 miles. The first time the compressor and condenser were leaking and failed around 50000 miles which the dealership said was due to a new refrigerant that Honda had started using for this generation of civics. Following this repair, Honda extended the warranty for these components of the AC system. Early in July 2024, I had the same issues with my AC blowing hot air only and making hissing and banging noises on the passenger side at around 75000 miles. Took this to the dealership and they again said that the compressor and condenser were leaking and had failed but also that the evaporator valve was leaking and failed due to the compressor and condenser issues. However, Honda has not extended their warranty for these parts and this would be an out of pocket cost. Honda needs to own up to their faulty AC system used in this generation of Honda civics and extend the warranty to all involved parts or issue a recall and properly fix the system so it isn’t failing every 18 months.

Body control module constantly fails and begins to parasitically drain the battery of the vehicle. I've had to swap the body control module twice now after it has failed shortly after the warranty period. This is not as serious as other issue but having the battery drained at unexpected times can cause safety issues.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic Sedan. The contact stated that when the vehicle was parked, on several occasions while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact was informed by the local dealer that the failure was not related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.

Water leaks in trunk every time it rains and stays in spare tire wheel well causing rust on spare tire, tools, etc. Also mold has presented in trunk which is another problematic issue. Honda Service Technician found wire/cable on wire harness that is not routed properly, damage to trunk seal is present from rubbing, recommended replace trunk seal and reroute cable. After checking online there are several complaints with the same issue. Honda is placing the responsibility of repair on the customer even though the customer did not perform the wiring. The water leak and the mold it causes needs to be addressed and recalled for repair ASAP. THANK YOU

I got a new alternator because I thought it was draining the battery. A few weeks later I didn’t drive my car for 3 days and the engine would not start but all the lights would turn on. I got it jumped and took it the dealership and they still don’t know what is wrong with it. This is the 4th time this has happened and I changed the battery every time.

Oct 26, 2023

Last week my body control module (bcm) malfunctioned in my car. I was first alerted to this from a car alarm going off. I tried my key fob and nothing happened. Despite nothing happening I walk outside to find it is actually coming from my car and none of the key fob buttons are working.(I have 2 I tried) I was completely locked out of my car and even the physical key was not opening the door. Yet for some reason the trunk was unlocked.(not able to enter car through here.) Looking inside the care to my amazement it was turned on in accessory mode despite me having absolutely no contact with the key except hours prior but the vehicle was properly shut off at that time. The safety concerns posed by this is that this could happen at any point potentially locking a pet, a child, or myself into my car with no means of escape. The car was only in accessory mode, but that means it’s fully capable of turning itself on by itself. Had I parked my car in the garage and it turned over, I’d probably be laying in my house dead from carbon monoxide poisoning. Upon looking online, there were countless occurrences of this happening in Honda’s newer vehicles 2016+. Even to the point where Honda recalled the same body control module issue in their accord and insight models. But why not the civic in their line which suffers from the same issue as their flagship vehicles? I am still unable to get into my car at the moment so I have the part but I’m looking to get it fixed asap as it’s my only vehicle.

Car has power steering issue most noticeable at highway speeds, matching the description of the EPS defect on 2018 Civics (NHTSA ID: 18V663000 ) but my VIN was not included in the recall, despite showing the exact same problem. The steering sticks and has resistance to small adjustments, especially trying to go straight in a lane, & snapping side to side or pulling in opposite direction instead of smoothly turning, intensity varies. There is an audible "clicking" or resistance sound when turning. It's getting increasingly worse overtime, and is a safety issue. Matches testimonials of many other owners of 2018 Civics online. Ive had 3 independent engineers diagnose this issue as a power steering rack problem matching the recall - I have documentation from 2 attached below, the 3rd was an in-person recommendation, document was not provided. Honda is the only diagnostic not acknowledging the EPS problem. Please help me get this replaced so I can drive safely. The contact stated after Honda giving the runaround, they did confirm that the power steering rack is faulty and needs to be replaced . However, since the VIN was not included in the recall for the 2018 Honda Civics, they will not offer me any assistance with the $4200 repair.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle at the residence, the vehicle started losing electrical power. The instrument cluster lights became dim, and the infotainment system turned off. The contact stated that she parked and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving and turning the steering wheel. Additionally, the steering wheel became difficult to steer. The "Power Steering Failure" and "Brake System Failure" messages were displayed. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V663000 (Steering). The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The car makes loud noise in back near gas cap. The Honda dealer states there's a electrical gas locking mechanism gone bad and needs to be replaced. They were out of part for the fuel door latch actuator. Seems like lots of people having this problem.

Jul 25, 2023

Car steering wheel became “sticky” and “jerky” and felt like lane keeping assistance was on preventing car from turning properly. Clicking noise and scraping started. Took to dealership and was told new tires required. Aware of multiple service bulletins and March 2023 class action regarding steering. Took to different dealership who is charging $3800 to replace steering rack. Allegedly not covered under warranty or recall. Car has only 45,000 miles on it

Every so often, quite a few lights will come on my dash. These lights include and relate to problems with power steering, hill start assist, emissions system, traction control tire pressure, and brake system. It does not allow me to use my brake hold when this happens. Also, unsure if it has anything to do with it, it has caused a problem with my first cylinder and is reading that the fuel system is too rich. But the original few lights that come on, will come and go randomly when the car is shut off overnight and will typically stay gone until the car sits with the parking break on for a few minutes.

I am the original owner of the above listed vehicle. The AC is not circulating cold air. I brought it in to get inspected and was told that the AC went out and has to be replaced. It is retaining freon, but it’s not circulating.

The computer board is out and on back order. I have to boost my care EVERYTIME I attempt to drive it. It has been out since January and won't be in until March 8th. They won't give me a loaner car at all. Nothing showed on the dash. The car automatically stays on but won't crank up but that is why the battery is being ran down.

Jan 5, 2023

When I drive down the road at certain times the steering sticks which does not allow me to make the minor adjustments needed to stay in the center of a lane. This causes a jerkiness and overcorrection when driving at higher speeds. This has occurred on long trips and short drives, but sometimes the steering seems fine. I have confirmed that it is not the lane assist kicking in. It is a problem with the steering wheel sticking.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated that when attempting to make a right turn at approximately 25 -30 mph, the vehicle failed to successfully turn right. The vehicle continued in a forward motion until it crashed into a nearby sign. The air bag did not deploy. There were no injuries. Medical attention was received and confirmed that no injuries occurred. The sign was damaged. There was no police report. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that there was an electrical failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 51,128.

After less than 4 years, the dashboard Infotainment Screen stopped working and went blank/dark. I checked all connections and fuses with no luck. After a trip to the Honda Dealer, they quoted $1200.00 to replace the Infotainment screen. I do not have the money to replace this part. This part failed in less than 4 years time. As a result, I have no access to the back up camera, tire inflation calibration, or radio controls and other functions displayed on this screen. This is causing a safety hazard while driving and undue driver distraction while driving while trying to access information usually displayed on the screen. I checked the internet regarding this issue, and there is wide spread data that this is a common issue with Honda, including several law firm class action lawsuits. I believe there should be a Safety Recall for Honda to replace this part.

Oct 17, 2022

First it was two hoses that had issues with the AC then the condensor wasnt holding anything in so it kept leaking out and my AC still wasnt working so Honda said the Evaporator went out and said this is what Honda is known for and happens a lot. So my whole AC all these little parts kept going out and it cost me $4000 to replace all of them and to get it fixed. The evaporator is what cost $3000 to replace

Actuator Assy., Fuel Lid (FUEL FILL DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR). Repeatedly locks and unlocks (making a gun shot noise loudly) every time I get in and out of the vehicle. Yes, it is available for inspection at any time. My safety or the safety of others could be at risk with the open gas cap, constant moving electrical components, and to be left stranded unable to open the gas door. The Problem was talked about with the Honda dealership. They said it was a common problem. That Honda knows about. No warning lamps or any notification.

WITHOUT WARNING OR WHEN I COME OUT TO MY CALL, ALL THE WINDOWS ARE ROLLED DOWN, AND THE SUNROOF IS OPEN. I HAVE BEEN REPEATEDLY TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS IS AN OPERATOR ERROR AND THAT THE FUNCTION ON MY KEY FOB MUST HAVE BEEN ACCIDENTLY PRESSED. HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE KEY FOB IS NOWHERE NEAR THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES AT HOME WHERE I KEEP THE KEY FOB AT LEAST 30 YARDS AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED TWICE AT WORK WHERE THE VEHICLE IS OVER 50 YARDS AWAY AND MUST PASS THROUGH 1.5 FEET OF CONCRETE TO SEND A SIGNAL TO THE CAR. IN ADDITION, THE NUMEROUS TIMES (I HAVE LOST COUNT) THE TRUNK WILL OPEN WITHOUT ACTIVATING THE KEY FOB OF DEPRESSING THE KNOB IN THE CAR. AGAIN, I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DEALERS THAT IT IS OPERATOR ERROR. HOWEVER, EACH TIME THIS OCCURS, THE KEY FOB IS IN MY HAND ON THE WAY TO THE CAR OR IN THE CONSOLE AREA WHERE IT IS NOT BEING TOUCHED BY ME OR BY ANYTHING ELSE. IT HAS OCCURRED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND ONCE WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION'CAUSING ME TO QUICKLY PULL OVER SO THE CONTENTS OF THE TRUNK DO NOT FLY OUT AND HIT SOMEONE. BESIDES THE OBVIOUS SAFETY AND SECURITY ISSUE, THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED A GREAT DEAL OF WATER DAMAGE TO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE AND MAY HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM VIA THE HANDS-FREE SYSTEM IN THE CONSOLE AND THE USB PORT IN THE CENTER COMPARTMENT'BOTH OF WHICH WERE COVERED IN WATER DURING THIS PAST INCIDENT WHEN IT WAS HEAVILY RAINING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THESE ARE FLUKES, AND HONDA HAS NOT AND WILL NOT MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO DISABLE THIS FEATURE. THE 200+ COMPLAINTS/REPORTS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE INDICATES TO ME THAT IT IS NOT A FLUKE. AS THE OWNER, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE DISABLE THIS FEATURE SO FURTHER DAMAGES, SAFETY, AND SECURITY ARE NOT AN ISSUE. THE HONDA CIVIC IN QUESTION IS LESS THAN TWO YEARS OLD.

ON JUNE 21, 2019, OWNER OF A 2018 HONDA CIVIC 5 DOOR HATCHBACK GRAND TOURING WAS DRIVING ALONG A 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY IN A 45 M.P.H. ZONE. SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 46 M.P.H. THE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS) SUDDENLY ACTIVATED WITHOUT THERE BEING A VEHICLE OR PERSON IN FRONT OR TO THE IMMEDIATE EITHER SIDE FRONT OF THE CAR. THE CMBS WENT DIRECTLY INTO STAGE 3 ACTIVATION OUT A POSSIBLE 3 CMBS STAGES. THESE ARE: STAGE 1: VISUAL AND AUDIBLE WARNING STAGE 2: VISUAL AND AUDIBLE WARNING AND LIGHT BRAKE APPLICATION STAGE 3: VISUAL AND AUDIBLE WARNING AND STRONG BRAKE APPLICATION THIS ALMOST CAUSED OWNERS CAR TO BE REAR ENDED BY THE VEHICLE TRAVELING DIRECTLY BEHIND OWNERS CAR DUE TO THE VIOLENT AND STRONG APPLICATION OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM IN OWNERS CAR. REMEMBER, NO CARS TO FRONT OR IMMEDIATE FRONT SIDES OR A PERSON IN THOSE POSITIONS EITHER. THE APPLICATION OF THE CMBS CAUSED AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN INJURY TO THE OWNER OF THE 2018 HONDA CIVIC OR THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE DIRECTLY TO THE REAR OF OWNERS' VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL HONDA DEALER TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT. DEALER STATES COMPUTER GLITCH IN DATA SYSTEM. NO CODES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS EVENT WERE FOUND. AND A VERBAL STATEMENT FROM TECHNICIAN OF 'THESE THINGS HAPPEN'. NOT VERY SATISFACTORY ANSWER WHEN THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO SHOP IN CONJUNCTION WITH A HOPEFULLY SEPARATE ISSUE THAT WILL BE REPORTED SEPARATELY. THE TECHNICIAN CLEARED ALL CODES AND TEST DROVE VEHICLE FOR 2 MILES. TECHNICIAN STATED SHE COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM AND RELEASED CAR. OWNER HAD TO RETURN TO SHOP TO HAVE TECHNICIAN SET THE SYSTEM SO THE CMBS COULD BE MANUALLY DEACTIVATED AGAIN AS WHEN VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT INTO SHOP.

KEYFOB RANGE REDUCED DRASTICALLY USED TO BE ABLE TO REMOTE START MY CAR FROM OVER 200FT. NOW I CAN'T EVEN DO IT OVER 30FT. EVEN ONE OF THE SALE MEN SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM BECAUSE HE WAS ABLE TO START HIS OWN CIVIC FROM OVER A 100FT. THE SERVICE MANAGE TOLD ME THE LAST TIME I CAME IN TO CHECK IF THERE WAS ANY NEW (BECAUSE THEY NEVER CALL OR RETURNED MY CALL) SAID THAT CORPORATE HONDA DIDN'T HAVE A FIX AND THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. HE THEN GAVE ME A BUNCH OF RIDICULOUS REASONS (SO MUCH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT IT CAN DRAIN THE BATTERY EVEN WITH THE CAR OFF AND THAT THE CAR IS PROTECTING ITSELF FROM DRAINING COMPLETELY BY "SHUTTING DOWN SOME SYSTEM" WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. OTHER EXCUSES THEY TOLD ME WAS THAT MY WINDOWS WERE TINTED (THEY ARE CERAMIC TINTED WHICH DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH SIGNAL LOSS) IT COULD BE MY DASHCAM, OR MY SUBWOOFER. I WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED IT IF IT HAPPENED AFTER I JUST HAD THEM INSTALLED. BUT I HAD EVERYTHING INSTALLED 3 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR WHICH WAS OVER A YEAR AGO AND THE PROBLEM JUST SHOWED UP A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. GOES TO SHOW YOU THAT NOT JUST HONDA BUT CAR DEALERSHIPS WILL DO ALL THEY CAN TO NOT FIX YOUR CAR. I EVEN SENT CORPORATE HONDA A MESSAGE AND ALL THEY SAID WAS GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP... SERIOUSLY? YOU'D THINK THEY'D TRAIN TECHS TO BE ADEQUATE ENOUGH TO DEAL WITH AN ISSUE LIKE THIS. I AM NOT GOING TO DRIVE 45MIN (CLOSEST LOCATION) TO BE TOLD THE SAME THING. AFTER I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IS THE RECEIVER IN THE CAR COULD BE THE PROBLEM THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD HAVE TO CHARGE ME A LABOR FEE TO DO THAT. WAS A HONDA FAMILY BUT WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANOTHER HONDA IN THE FUTURE.

May 19, 2019 Fire

ELECTRICAL FIRE WITHIN THE DRIVER DOOR. A FIRE STARTED WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED OUTSIDE AND OFF AT MALL IN TOLEDO, OHIO. WEATHER HAD BEEN RAINY. CAME OUT TO VEHICLE AND THE INSIDE WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE. AFTER FIRE DEPARTMENT AND TOWING AGENCY MANAGED TO GET THE PASSENGER DOOR OPEN TO GET INSIDE, IT WAS REVEALED THAT THE DRIVE DOOR HAD BEEN ON FIRE AND MELTED. THE FIRE HAD ALSO DESTROYED THE HEADLINER, DRIVE SEAT AND LEFT THE SMOKE DAMAGED INTERIOR COVERED IN SOOT. THERE WAS ALSO A HOLE IN THE DRIVER FLOOR, REVEALING POSSIBLE FRAME DAMAGE. HONDA SAYS THAT THEY ARE INVESTIGATING TO SEE WHICH COMPONENT CAUSED THE FIRE. DURING A PREVIOUS OIL CHANGE IN FEBRUARY, I HAD MENTIONED TO THE MECHANICS THAT THE CAR HAD BEEN BEEPING RAPIDLY WHILE IT WAS OFF AND THE KEY FOB WAS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO DO THIS IF THE VEHICLE IS STILL RUNNING. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL WHEN THE WEATHER WAS COLD, BUT IT ALSO HAPPENED WHEN IT WAS WARM OUTSIDE, AND BECOMING MORE FREQUENTLY AS TIME WENT ON. THIS CONCERN WAS BRUSHED OFF BY BROWN HONDA, WHO ALSO REFUSED TO PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE HONDA WAS INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE. HONDA CORPORATE SAID THAT THE BEEPING SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF THE CAR IS OFF. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING ON HONDA FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 HONDA CIVIC. WHILE AT A RED LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE GEAR HAD TO QUICKLY BE SHIFTED INTO PARK TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE HOLD INDICATOR FLASHED WITHOUT THE CONTACT ACTIVATING THE FEATURE. THE BUTTON HAD TO BE MANUALLY PRESSED TO PREVENT THE WARNING INDICATOR FROM FLASHING. THE CONTACT HAD TO DISENGAGE THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO MANEUVER THE BRAKE PEDAL AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

2018 HONDA CIVIC - EX-L INFOTAINMENT SCREEN (RADIO, HEAT, NAVIGATION SYSTEM, A/C, ETC CONTROLS TOUCHSCREEN) WILL FLASH OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING INCLUDING DURING BACKUP CAMERA AND NAVIGATION SYSTEM USE. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT AND NOT PREDICTABLE. HONDA DEALERSHIP HAS ATTEMPTED TWO RE-FLASHES OF THE SOFTWARE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE WITH NO POSITIVE RESULT. HONDA REPRESENTATIVE STATES THAT THE ISSUE HAS NO RESOLUTION AND WILL DO NOTHING FURTHER TO CORRECT THE ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE AND MAY HAVE A FIX AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE.

HONDA CIVIC 2018 MANUAL TRANSMISSION. BUMPING THE KEYCHAIN WITH MY KNEE CAN ROTATE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION TURNING OFF THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE A STANDARD SIZE KEY RING WITH A COUPLE CAR KEYS AND WORK/HOME KEYS. THEY DON'T HANG DOWN VERY FAR BUT DO SO FAR ENOUGH TO CONTACT MY KNEE WHEN DRIVING. WHEN IN MOTION, AS I SHIFT AND TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS MY KNEE PUSHES ON THE KEYS. ON THREE OCCASIONS, ALL ON CITY STREETS SO FAR, THIS PUSH HAS BEEN ENOUGH TO ROTATE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND TURN OFF THE CAR.

RODENTS ATE THROUGH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING WIRES. MY SON WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN POWER STEERING LOSS OCCURRED. HE COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND OR KILLED. AMERICAN HONDA WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING!!

THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS COVER COMPOSITION IS ATTRACTIVE TO RODENTS. SQUIRRELS CHEWED INTO THE HARNESS LEADING TO LOSS OF ACCELERATION. THE ENTIRE HARNESS NEEDS REPLACING DUE TO THE SOY BASED WIRE COATING. THE FAILURE WAS FIRST NOTICED WHILE AT SPEED (APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH IN CITY TRAFFIC. SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS AT STARTING THE VEHICLE RESULTED IN ROUGH IDLE AND DANGEROUS HESITATION WHEN MERGING. LOCAL DEALER ADVISES THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AFFECTING THE UK ASSEMBLED CIVIC HATCH BACK. ESTIMATE FOR REPLACEMENT IS $900.00 AS THIS IS NOT COVERED BY HONDA.

(4 COMPLAINTS, ALL POSSIBLY ELECTRICAL) 1) KEY NOT DETECTED IN VEH ERROR, WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, I HAVE THE KEY NOT CONNECTED TO ANYTHING AND NO LONGER IN A POUCH, MY CAR BEEPS AND SAYS "KEY NOT DETECTED IN THE VEHICLE) THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET AND FREEWAY. IT IS A RANDOM OCCURRENCE BUT HAPPENS ON A DAILY BASIS. 2) BLUETOOTH IS NOT CLEAR ON THE PERSON SPEAKING TO ME'S SIDE. OTHER PERSON STATES AS WELL AS HONDA TECH LINE STATES IT IS UNCLEAR, MUFFLED, AND LOUD INTERFERENCE WITH MY VOICE HAPPENS WHILE USING BLUTOOTH. 3) CAR PLAY: DUE TO BLUETOOTH ISSUE I STARTED ONLY TAKING CALLS WHILE USING CAR PLAY. ONCE I STARTED USING I STARTED HAVING THE ISSUE OF IT STATING RANDOMLY AFTER BEING SUCCESSFULLY CONNECTED"CAR PLAY NOT SUPPORTED" WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CALL IT WILL DISCONNECT AND I WILL HAVE TO PULL OVER TO ATTEMPT TO RECONNECT. RIGHT AFTER CAR PLAY WILL CONNECT AGAIN AND WORK UNTIL IT RANDOMLY DISCONNECTS AGAIN SAYING CAR PLAY NOT SUPPORTED. NOTE: WITH CAR PLAY AND BLUETOOTH ISSUE I HAVE TAKEN CAR INTO DLR MULTIPLE TIMES STARTING WITH THE DAY AFTER THE VEH WAS PURCHASED IN 1/29/2018 NO RESOLUTION SO FAR TO DATE. DLR HAS REPLACED MICROPHONE, AND STILL NO RESOLUTION AS OF YET 4) DRIVER WINDOW MAKES WEIRD SOUND LIKE IT IS COMING OFF THE TRACK, TOOK INTO DLR AND THEY REPLACED THE MOTOR FOR THE WINDOW, THE WINDOW STILL HAS ISSUE. ** I HAVE MORE PHOTOS OF RECORDS FROM TAKING VEH INTO DLRSHIP.
