The contact leased a 2024 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at 70 MPH, and making a lane change, the steering wheel overcorrected the change due to the automatic lane corrector and swerved across two lanes inadvertently, and collided with a semitruck and then into a wall. The air bag deployed, and the driver's seat belt independently unlatched. The contact stated that the seat belt unbuckled at some point during the collision. The contact sustained face burns and lacerations, right arm/shoulder, and right side rib injuries. Medical attention was needed for the contact. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a lot where the vehicle was deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 22,083.

At speeds 35+ MPH the steering has a “sticky” “notch” feeling making steering at high speed very difficult to do smoothly, especially when cornering. This has led to close-calls nearly resulting in accidents, but fortunately being avoided. I suspect it has to do with the steering rack issue that is a common complaint with this MY.

Every time I get in the car at some point in my drive, all of my safety features kickoff. Basically my ADAS. I can’t even use cruise control. There’s a huge safety issue because I was on a snowy road and my traction control was not on cause my Civic to lose control. Good thing I recovered it and no accident. I can drive 5 miles down the road or 200 miles, but at some point it will kick on. I have looked this up, and thousands of Honda owners are having this issue. I took my car to the dealership and they did a diagnostic on it and cannot tell me what the issue was. The dealer was Prescott Honda in Arizona. THOUSANDS owners are having this issue.

Please help. I have purchased my 2024 Honda Civic last year in 2023. I’ve had my Honda Civic for a year now. I recently noticed my steering wheel “sticky” as some other 2022-2024 Honda Civic owners have reported and stated on all media’s after researching. This mainly occurs to me after the car has warmed up and or its at its normal temperatures and driving. The steering wheel can feel some “fight” even at 2 degree adjustment while driving. I feel unsafe to drive my car. I have read and discovered some have recalls for this matter of steering rack problems. Honda contacted me weeks after purchasing my Honda Civic and scheduled me to bring in my Honda to have it checked for the recall and apparently my Honda does not have a recall. I have called Honda today, 8/26/2024, and I explained what I am experiencing with my steering and they said due to my car being over 36k miles it’s no longer under warranty even though this problem seems to be more of a recall type and should not require to be under warranty. Perhaps this recall has not been called for yet or discovered and I am reaching out to get help. As I am concerned and I am worried about my safety the safety for others as I am driver and transport passengers on daily basis as part of my job. Please once again help with my case and please investigate. As part of researching I did discover a rough cost of the steering rack and it is expensive and it was just for the part not including labor. This is unsafe and unfair. I hope whoever reads my description can understand my situation and help me. I am willing to cooperate with any information needed for this investigation as I believe it to be a future recall especially since the car has not had any accidents nor damages whatsoever. Please help my case.

Vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) was traveling on interstate highway in moderate traffic in right lane while traveling around a slight curve traveling at 60 mph. Vehicle 2 traveling in left lane merged to right lane with approximately 2 car lanes of spacing in from of vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle). I lifted off accelerate in vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) to slow down and Honda Sensing Collison Mitigation Braking System abruptly apply very hard braking resulting in vehicle 1(complaint vehicle) nosing driving and straightened the steering on the curve. The braking and steering straightening resulted in vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) crossing the lane line into the left lane by approximately 2 feet before the vehicle could be recovered and a speed reduction by 15-20 MPH. No vehicles were in left lane next to vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) at the time of incident or behind vehicle 1 (complaint vehicle) to have resulted in a collusion. If vehicles were either behind or in the lane at the time of the incident the Honda Sensing Collison Mitigation Braking System actions would have directly resulted in a collision from its intervention. Contacted Honda and reported incident and inquired how to disable the system permanently and was told the Honda representative that they would pass along the information to "engineering" and the system can only be disabled for each drive and would turn on each time the ignition cycled. I then inquired if anybody would be reaching out to correct the issue and was informed that nobody would reaching out to me about the issue. I expressed the safety issues and was informed other than notifying engineering nothing would be addressed for me.

While I was turning my vehicle it set off the lane departure feature throwing me into a concentrate decretive section on the road. My blinker was on and the feature shouldn’t have went off knowing I was turning my vehicle through me off the road. I was so shocked I peed myself.

When Lane departure is turned on it tries steer, vehicle off-road. Also noticing jerking motion or sticky steering at mainly highway speeds where car is difficult to steer around curves, and then straight lines

I was driving in the free way, was trying to change lanes, and my steering wheel, got stuck and when I try to change back to my lane, it swerves loosely. Not sure what’s going on.
