Numerous defects in my 2024 Honda Civic Sport. I leased this vehicle in January 2024 for 36 months (with a $4,675 down payment and $284.62 monthly payments). From early in the lease, the car has been plagued with serious problems. Below is a chronological list of the issues my vehicle has experienced: Gearbox replacement – Feb 3, 2025 (12,792 miles): The vehicle’s transmission/gearbox failed catastrophically and was replaced under warranty. Axle boots replacement – Feb 19, 2025 (13,384 miles): Soon after, the front axle boots were found to be defective (leaking) and were replaced. Climate control panel failure (moisture damage) – Mar 6, 2025 (13,892 miles): The climate control and infotainment panel stopped functioning due to moisture intrusion and had to be replaced. Refusal to diagnose vibration issue – June 27, 2025 (18,116 miles): I reported a persistent and concerning vibration during driving (which could indicate an unresolved powertrain or suspension issue), but the dealership refused to perform a diagnostic or address it, returning the car to me without resolution. Steering wheel damage & falsified report – June 30, 2025: During a service visit, dealership personnel damaged the steering wheel and then provided a false report that inaccurately stated the damage was pre-existing, instead of taking responsibility. Ongoing audio system malfunctions – (continuing issue): The car’s audio system suffers from frequent USB/Bluetooth disconnections, which have persisted despite multiple service visits. The car's lane assist is triggered at random during drives almost causing several auto accidents. Every one of these issues is documented through repair orders and correspondence. I have maintained a file with all relevant service records, emails with the dealer (Honda of Van Nuys), and photographic evidence (such as photos of the steering wheel after the damage on June 30, 2025). These docs are available

EPS Grbx Greasing. Attempted to get recall repair completed. Honda states parts have not been in for nearly 6 months now.

Feb 8, 2025

Dealership has not performed recall and are telling me that it may be over two months for them to get the parts needed to make the repair.

In Dec 2024, I began to hear a noise under the car. I dropped off the car for the recall and to see if they could figure out the issue. Recall was completed and no issue found after blowing out the dust shield around the brakes. 1 week later, the problem came back sounding a little different. We found a plug in the aluminum pan under the car. After removing it, the original noise returned (may not have been noticeable because the other sound was louder). I took it back to the dealership. They could not find anything specific, but tightened up something in the front end suspension. The noise came back 30 miles later. So I took it to a different dealership last week. They found that the splash cover was missing a screw. So that must be it right? No 5 minutes after I left, the sound returned. Tuesday 2/4 I took the car back. After a longer inspection, they determined that the sway bar links were bad on both sides. So they replaced them. The car ran okay for the 1st day or so. I heard a couple squeaks but I just figured it had something to do with the replacement parts. As of today, the noise has returned as it was before. I will update, but this seems to be suspension related/faulty suspension parts.

Dec 15, 2024

Big star Honda has refused to service my recall replacement. They have confirmed and scheduled multiple times only to tell me when I arrive they can no longer provide part . I was told I would be called within a few days , and that a part would be put aside for me. It’s going on three weeks where I have not been contacted or serviced

I got a message about recall in October, I brought my car to my Honda dealership then but they didn’t have the appropriate part and told me it’ll be there mid November. I brought my car again a couple of days ago but still they didn’t have the part, so I’ve been driving with thud recall for over a month. My steering wheel makes a noise when turning.

Didnt received any mail from manufacturer for recall on my vechicle.

Oct 20, 2024

I called to confirm the recall on my vehicle and after I was told that in fact my vehicle does have a recall that they don't have the parts so I will have to wait, I was not given any time line and absolutely no information on when my vehicle recall will be fixed

My Honda Civic's software for Apple CarPlay does not have an available update by Honda Corporation to allow functionality to use CarPlay Focus Driving settings to prevent receiving audio phone calls and ringing via the infotainment system speakers while driving and using apps such as Waze for navigation and/or iHeart radio for music. My safety while driving and the safety of others while I am driving is put at risk because while I am driving and using an app for music and/or navigation, my Honda Civic's infotainment system speakers may ring when my Apple iPhone receives a phone call from anyone, and this distracts my driving and may be unsafe. My Apple iPhone 14 has CarPlay Focus Driving software to allow me to prevent incoming phone calls while driving and connected to car Bluetooth or CarPlay. However, I cannot use this Focus Driving feature with my Honda Civic because Honda Corporation has not updated my Civic's infotainment system software to interface with my Apple iPhone 14 Focus Driving feature. I met my Honda dealership's service department staff, and they confirmed that there is no recall for my Honda Civic. They confirmed and showed me on my Civic's backup camera screen settings for Driving Focus that "Incoming calls will not be silenced while using CarPlay." I will upload this image/picture from my backup camera screen as a file for this discussion. The need for Honda Corporation to update their car infotainment system software to allow safety while driving is not unique to my 2024 Honda Civic.

Start stop feature creates a pause when taking off, has cause me to be bumped in the rear twice. Feature come on automatically when starting the car .it should be off unless wanted , the switch does not always turn system off when pressing. This is an asinine way of designing a function that creates an unneeded hazard. It should be in off at start and option to use. Apparently someone did not look at the potential hazards this could cause. Please contact me at [XXX] to discuss [XXX] . An answer would be appreciated I'm guessing I'm not the only one that has experienced this issue, INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Drivers side door trim peeling off. Clearly a problem, as I own a 2024 Honda Accord in addition to my 2024 Honda Civic. Both are having the same issue of the drivers side door trim/weather stripping peeling from the door.

Vehicle dashboard where speedometer is displayed went completely black while driving. The AC stopped blowing cold air and red flashing warning light came on with the word brake. I didn’t not lose control of the vehicle and was able to get home safely by driving slowly avoiding traffic around me. Signal lights nor hazard lights worked either. The car would not turn off unless I pressed the brake at the same time with the ignition button several times. The hatchback would not open either prior to getting it towed directly to the nearest Honda dealership for inspection and repair.

Driver door window shattered while car was parked. No one was in the car when it happened, no injuries. Possibly heat related. Window was bowed out. Have multiple pictures of damage. Insurance says they will cover it. The dealer says not covered under car warranty. Seems to be a manufacturing defect if heat stress (temperature differential) can make a window burst.

The car is constantly taking control while driving, I have the car for less than an hour brought it back to the dealership. The auto start and stereo was completely malfunctioning. Two days later after not driving for one brought it back and steering shaking and taking over and radio and power shut off. Had the car less than five days and in a second loaner car.

Jan 15, 2024 Crash

While I was turning my vehicle it set off the lane departure feature throwing me into a concentrate decretive section on the road. My blinker was on and the feature shouldn’t have went off knowing I was turning my vehicle through me off the road. I was so shocked I peed myself.

2024 Honda Civic Touring at about ~4650 miles when brought into the dealership on 1/10/24 Two days prior, experienced sticky steering while driving on Highways speeds betweens 40 mph and 70 mph. Steering wheel would get "stuck" in the center position requiring extra force to be able to turn. Sometimes causing the car to hear or unable to turn without applying extra force. After the steering became unstuck, it would function normally until it went back to the center position. Brought it to the dealership on 1/10/24, and they diagnosed it as a bad EPS (Electronic Power Steering) unit and informed me that the part is on back ordered and could be a month or so. This car was purchased on 9/30/23 with 5 miles on it, no previous owners I had it checked on 12/23/23 for the recall that was issued, but my car was not affected due to it not having the replacement EPS unit that was being recalled.
