Both automatic door locks are malfunctioning on the passenger door side. They will not stay unlocked with the vehicle is unlocked. Daughter was choking in backseat & the door would not open unless I pushed the unlocked button and opened the door at the same time.
Understand my car is old but I also understand that there was a class action lawsuit I was not informed about regarding the door actuators the door locks on my vehicle I paid $300 plus to replace the front door actuator and now my back door driver side and back door passenger side door actuators are extremely loud and it is difficult to unlock the door if you're on the inside of the vehicle trying to get out it freezes the door locks that's very dangerous I know my car is old but Honda should still have to replace them considering they agreed to replace all four door actuators back in 2015 but I was not informed of that.
VEHICLE IS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN
Hello I’m [XXX] and own a 2008 Honda CRV that runs fine. VIN [XXX] , but previous owner never went to the recall and I bought the car in 2014 and recently, during a brake job, I first became aware of the problem when my mechanic alerted me to the recall situation and the rusting out that was putting drivers in a very dangerous situation. My car failed the recall because of the rust causing the degradation of the rear suspension trailing arm, and now I'm left with a car not fit to drive? and I would be liable for whatever happens but I was never offered a solution to buy the car back something to help and I cannot be without one to get to Dr’s or buy food live rural I have no choice living alone at [XXX] need a car. So a question, why am I the problem? when, in the first place, the car was dangerous from the manufacturer to the rusting out situation which was actually life threatening, lose steering, the wheel could collapse or the frame itself, and again, never offered any help at all some compensation, nothing? Just drive it home with the burden of the liability etc. I’m on a Fixed income of only $800 a month how am I to survive living rural without a car at my age? Please, I need some help. Why am I being punished when the design itself, as I said, created the dangerous problem and just that's it? Appreciate help from someone. Rear right passenger lock actuator failing to unlock randomly, sometimes locks only partially.
Several of the door locks on our 2008 CRV will automatically unlock after locking the car when parked making it an easy target for theft. And when the car is running and in Park, several of the door locks will not unlock making it extremely difficult to let someone into the car.
The doors keep locking and locking during driving. This is a major safety concern for minor children and safety when car is in motion. And the door locks don’t stay locked when parked. There for my car is open to theft and I am not safe nor are my minor children in the car.
The paint seal never worked or was out in. I’m in the Midwest and it’s freezing. The car can’t warm up because all the heat goes through roof where paint is all worn off. It makes you freeze and sick.
Rear-door passenger actuators have stopped working one at a time. Honda dealership refused to perform the repaire free of charge. However there was a lawsuits in 2021(?) to have Honda cover the charges free of cost to customers!
A lot smog come out from the wood the A/C stop working
When attempting to lock the doors with either the key fob or from inside the vehicle, the back door locks stay open. The front passenger door also makes a loud buzzing noise but stays locked. This is an issue when the auto lock function kicks in after every stop sign or red traffic light. I don’t want to leave the car in public spaces for fear of someone entering my vehicle unbeknownst to me. The original vehicle owner had no recollection of any correspondence, by mail or otherwise, related to the 2007-2011 Honda C-RV recalls for this issue.
Failure of all Door Locks. I purchased my 2008 Honda CRV new in 2008. While driving all door locks move up and down or open and close and cannot be locked or open with the remote device. After checking on line, I see there have been recalls of similar problems with this model. I called First Honda in Simi Valley, CA and was told there was a recall but not for my 2008 Honda. This is for sure a safety problem which amazes me when companies that build these cars have so many problems. I understand that if I need to repair the five locks it will cost me over a $1000. I am a senior citizen with limited income and cannot afford a new car so I am between a rock and a hard place. If there is a recall out there, please let me know so I can get this problem fixed. Front passenger door unlock while driving and makes a weird noise while driving i feel unsafe driving with the noise and the door being unlock, first it started unlocking and locking then it get worse within a few days, I feel unsafe driving with my child in the vehicle while its like this

WHILE I WAS STANDING, BOTH FEET ON THE GROUND, OUTSIDE THE CAR, WITH THE CAR DOOR OPEN AND CAR MOTOR OFF, IN PARK, ABOUT TO GO IN MY HOUSE. MY CAR WENT IN REVERSE, ALL BY ITSELF, KNOCKED ME TO THE GROUND AND RAN OVER MY FOOT/ANKLE/LEG AND PUT ME IN THE HOSPITAL FOR OVER A WEEK. THE PROBLEM COULD BECOME A SAFETY PROBLEMS IF SOMEONE GETS IN A CAR ACCIDENT OR HAS A CAR FIRE AND EITHER THE DRIVER OR THEIR PASSENGERS CANNOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE QUICKLY UNLESS THE DRIVER UNLOCKS THE DOOR FOR THEM AND YOU HAVE TO QUICKLY OPEN THE VEHICLE DOOR BEFORE IT LOCKS ON YOU AGAIN.

HONDA REPLACED BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAGS. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT APRIL 2017. I WAS BROADSIDED, DRIVERS DOOR WAS IMPACTED. MY HEAD WENT HROUGH THE DRIVERS WINDOW. NONE OF THE SIDE AIRBAGS INFLATED. THE BODY SHOP WAS DISTURBED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE BEEN IN PHYSICAL THERAPY SINCE THE ACCIDENT. THE VA HAS BEEN SUPPLYING MEDICAL TREATMENT. HONDA DENIED RESPONSIBILITY ALTHOUGH THEY NEVER SAW THE CAR. MY INSURANCE COMPANY PROGRESSIVE WILL NOT REPAIR THE FAULTY AIRBAGS BECAUSE THEY WERE FAULTY BEFORE THE ACCIDENT. WESTPORT HONDA WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE CAR IS NOT INTERESTED IN TAKING IT AS A TRADE IN BECAUSE OF THE KNOWN AIRBAG PROBLEM. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I CAN'T SELL THE CAR WITHOUT REVEALING THE KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS. THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT WARNING INDICATING THE SIDE AIRBAGS ARE NOT WORKING. THE INDICATOR IS OFF MOST OF THE TIME. I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GOING TO COME ON AND HOW LONG IT'S GOING TO BE ON. HONDA INDICATED TO ME THAT THE SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE TESTED AT MY EXPENSE. THE BACK PASSENGERS DOOR WAS NOT STAYING LOCKED SO THEY REPLACED THAT ONE.I NOW HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WHERE YOU CAN NOT UNLOCK IT . I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT HONDA DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T COVERED BY THE WARRANTY EXTENSION ANYMORE. I PAID $286.27 TO HAVE IT FIXED. I THINK IT'S VERY DANGEROUS NOT TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF YOUR CAR DOOR, ESPECIALLY IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY. I AM HOPING FOR SOME REIMBURSEMENT FROM HONDA.

MY CAR IS NOW PAST THE MILEAGE LISTED ON THE WARRANTY BY A FEW THOUSAND MILES. HONDA WANTS TO CHARGE $1,100 FOR NEW PARTS AND LABOR. HONDA DEALER WANTS AMERICAN HONDA TO "SEND AN EMAIL" TO THE DEALER, UPON CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA, THEY WANT THE SERVICE MANAGER TO HONOR THE WARRANTY. IT IS A GAME OF "PASS THE BUCK". ALSO, I WAS WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR FOUR MONTHS LAST YEAR DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL SO I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE SAFETY OF THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. HONDAS ARE NOT INEXPENSIVE VEHICLES. THERE SHOULD BE A HARD RECALL ON THESE AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEMS THAT ARE FAULTY, AND HONDA KNOWS IT.
DRIVER WAS PARKED/IDLING IN PARKING LOT WHEN LOUD EXPLOSION HAPPENED. DRIVER THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD REAR ENDED HER. TWO BYSTANDERS WERE CONCERNED AND CAME OVER TO CHECK ON DRIVER. THEY SAID NO ONE HAD HIT HER. THEY FOUND A FILTER, GASKET AND A PIECE OF INSULATION UNDER THE CAR. UPON INSPECTION DRIVER SAW THAT THE FRONT BUMPER HAD PARTIALLY BLOWN OUT FROM THE CAR, IT WAS DETACHED UNDER THE HOOD, UNDER THE GRILL AND AROUND THE WHEEL WELL. ALSO A LARGE CHUNK OF WHEEL WELL IS MISSING. CAR WAS TOWED TO DRIVER'S MECHANIC. MECHANIC DETERMINED THE A/C COMPRESSOR EXPLODED, SUBSEQUENTLY BLOWING SHRAPNEL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SYSTEM, RUINING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM AS WELL AS CAUSING SAID BODY DAMAGE. A COMPLETE REPORT FROM A BODY SHOP WILL BE OBTAINED TODAY. DRIVER WAS QUITE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MASSIVE DAMAGE DONE AND HOW EASILY SOMEONE NEAR THE CAR AT THE TIME COULD HAVE BEEN HURT. DRIVER WAS ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT HER RESPONSE WOULD HAVE BEEN IF SHE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT THE TIME OF EXPLOSION. DRIVER IS A GRANDMA, SHE MEETS UP WITH HER DAUGHTER AND GRANDDAUGHTER IN VERY SIMILAR SITUATIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE 7 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN IN THE BLAST RADIUS. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH HONDA TO WHICH THEY QUICKLY DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AGAINST HONDA AND WON IN 2012 REGARDING EXPLODING A/C COMPRESSORS IN 2008 CRVS. HOWEVER HONDA WAS ABSOLVED OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAID VEHICLES AFTER 7 YEARS OR 100,000 MILES. THE CRV IN QUESTION HAS 120,000 MILES.

ON JUNE 23, 2017, AT ABOUT 8:10 A.M., I TURNED IN TO A DRY CLEANERS STORE AT 5702 EVERHARD ROAD, CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS. AS I WAS SLOWLY TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND APPLYING MY BRAKES, MY 2008 HONDA DR-V ACCELERATED ON IT'S OWN, AT A SPEED SO FAST I COULD NOT STOP IT, EVEN THOUGH I WAS APPLYING THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD. THE CR-V TRAVELED ABOUT 20-25 FEET AND HIT A PILLAR OF THE BUILDING HEAD ON. THE CR-V HIT THE PILLAR WITH SUCH FORCE THAT IT REBOUNDED BACK APPROXIMATELY 5 FEET FROM THE POINT OF IMPACT. THE FRONT OF THE CAR WAS CRUSHED IN AND THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG INFLATED. THE SUDDEN, UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION OF THE CR-V ON IT'S OWN CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. THE OWNER THEN MUST PAY A HONDA DEALER TO CHECK THE CAR, THIS WILL COST $150. WHEN WILL CALL HONDA OF NORTH AMERICA AND ASK FOR "GOODWILL ASSISTANCE" THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL OVER THE TELEPHONE ARE BELLIGERENT. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL WILL TELL YOU OVER THE TELEPHONE THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS DEFECT. I TRIED TO USE THE BUTTON INSIDE THE FRONT DOOR TO UNLOCK IT, NO LUCK. THEN I TRIED TO MANUALLY UNLOCK AND IT WAS STUCK IN LOCK POSITION. THE THREE OTHER DOORS/LOCKS WERE STILL FUNCTIONAL. IT BEGAN WORKING AGAIN A COUPLE DAYS LATER, BUT SOUNDS OFF AND MY CALL TO HONDA SERVICE CENTER HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED. I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL AS THEY ALREADY RECALLED THE FRONT LOCKS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN.

I BEGAN CALLING TWO LOCAL DEALERS WHO SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS, BUT WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY DO. MEANWHILE, I HAVE TO KEEP DRIVING THE "UNSAFE" VEHICLE. I CONTINUE TO CALL THEM, THEY DO HAVE MY INFORMATION ON FILE, AND I MAKE THEM VERIFY THAT BY GIVING ME THE VIN NUMBER EACH TIME I CALL SO I KNOW I AM IN THE QUEUE. MEANWHILE, TODAY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HONDA SAYING IT IS IMPORTANT THAT I RESPOND. DO I STILL OWN THE VEHICLE? THEY HAVE MY VIN NUMBER. I WOULD HOPE THAT WHEN THE DEALER RECORDS IT IN THE WAITING LIST, THE DATA WOULD BE UPLOADED TO HONDA'S DATABASE. APPARENTLY NOT, THE NUMBER IS ON THE LETTER. THE CAR IS NOW DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITHOUT THE PART. HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE SHOP FOREMAN INFORMED ME THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON THESE CARS. IN ADDITION, I RECEIVED A LETTER THAT THERE IS A TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL FOR THIS CAR IN MARCH, NOW IT IS APRIL AND THOSE NEW PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN RECEIVED BY THE DEALER YET. I HAVE A CAR SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY THAT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE NOW 1) IT NEEDS A $2100 PART, WHICH THE SERVICE FOREMAN TELLS ME IS NOT GUARANTEED TO LAST BECAUSE THEY ARE FAULTY; AND 2) THERE IS AN AIRBAG PART THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE AT ANY DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE CHECKED; AND 3) THE FACTORY ALARM WILL NOT SET, I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED BY TWO HONDA DEALERSHIPS AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. IT WILL LOCK ITSELF IF THE AUTO ACCELERATES OVER 10MPH, BUT THEN WILL AGAIN SLOWLY UNLOCK SECONDS LATER AND WILL STAY IN THE UNLOCK POSITION. THIS IN TURN DEFEATS THE SECURITY SYSTEM, MAKING IT INEFFECTIVE, ALLOWING THE PASSENGER DOOR TO BE OPENED WITHOUT SETTING OFF THE ALARM. I ATTEMPTED TO RESET THE LOCKING MECHANISM AS STATED IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL BUT IT DOES NOT FIX THE ISSUE.

AT FIRST WHEN LOCKING THE DOOR, THE DOOR SLOWLY UNLOCK ITSELF, BUT OVER THE PERIOD OF COUPLE OF DAYS THE DOOR STARTED TO MAKE JAMMING MECHANISM NOISE (CLICK, CLICK, CLICK...). NOW EVERY TIME WHEN I DRIVE, THE CAR DOORS MECHANISM DOES NOT SENSE THAT THE DOOR IS LOCKED, AND ALWAYS GET JAMMED TRYING TO LOCK THE DOOR (EVEN THOUGH THE DOORS ALREADY IS LOCKED).

PAGE 307 OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE OWNERS MANUAL, ENTITLED "TIRE CHAIN", STATES THAT IN INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE TIRE CHAINS CAN BE PLACED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRES TO ASSIST WITH DRIVING. AFTER THE CONTACT PLACED THE CHAINS ON THE VEHICLE, THE ELECTRONIC MONITORING SYSTEM ACTIVATES BRAKING AND TRACTION. THE FAILURE SPORADICALLY CAUSES A LOSS OF CONTROL THAT FREQUENTLY RESULTS IN 180 DEGREE TURNS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED DURING RELATIVELY LOW SPEEDS AND WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH. THE DEALER STATED THAT IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG, A WARNING INDICATOR SHOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO OR DURING THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT ASSIST. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 26,000.
