My front passenger seat weight sensor is faulty and shows as "OFF" when a large passenger is in the seat. An independent service center has scanned and confirmed the faulty sensor. I see CRV recalls for both the sensors and airbags, but my VIN does not return a result.

TAKATA RECALL TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP ON 5-23-17 FOR TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. RECENTLY WE RECEIVED ANOTHER AIRBAG RECALL LETTER. CALLED DEALER THINKING THAT WE ALREADY HAD TAKEN CARE OF THIS MATTER. WERE INFORMED THAT ON 5-23-17 ONLY THE DRIVERS AIRBAG WAS REPLACED AND NOW PASSENGER BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHY WERE BOTH NOT DONE ON 5-23-17? WHY HAVE WE BEEN DRIVING A CAR WITH AN UNSAFE PASSENGER AIR BAG FOR 2 ADDITIONAL YEARS AND A TOTAL OF 15,157 MILES. ALL THIS TIME WE THOUGHT WE WERE DRIVING A SAFE CAR, NOT PLAYING RUSSIAN ROULETTE WITH THE PERSON RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED MUSCLE SPASMS AND SORENESS ACROSS THE CHEST AND BRUISING TO BOTH FEET. HONDA ISSUED TWO SAFETY RECALLS FOR MY 2008 HONDA CRV ON 2/12/2016 AND 5/23/2016. THEY INFORMED ME THAT BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS HAVE SAFETY ISSUE, AND IT IS ADVISED THAT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO SCHEDULE AND FIXED THE AIRBAG, BUT THEY ALWAYS INFORM ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. THIS IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE FOR MY DAILY COMMUTE. DELAY IN REPLACING PARTS FOR TAKATA RECALL - DAMAGED ROTORS AND PADS. I GOT A HONDA RECALL NOTICE AND WAS ASKED TO NOT DRIVE THE CAR DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. HONDA TOOK 3 MONTHS TO REPLACE THE PARTS AND MY CAR WAS NOT DRIVEN FOR 3 MONTHS. THIS CAUSED MY BRAKES ROTORS AND PADS TO RUST. I HAD PUT NEW ROTORS AND PADS TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE RECALL. NOW THREE MONTHS AFTER THE RECALLED AIRBAG WAS FIXED, HONDA IS ASKING ME TO REPLACE ROTORS AND PADS AGAIN FOR THE COSE OF $1100. DUE TO DELAY ON REPLACING THE PARTS BY HONDA - MY NEW ROTORS AND PAD WERE RUSTED AND I REACHED OUT TO AMERICAN HONDA TO REPAIR MY CAR. IT IS SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME NOW AS IT MAKES TOO LOUD NOISE AND HEAVY PULSATING VIBRATING NOISE WHILE APPLYING THE BREAK. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR AND ASKING HONDA TO RESPOND SOON - BUT HAD HAD NOT RESPONSE FOR THE CASE 05096581.

IN JULY I RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER WITH A WARNING THAT HONDA SUGGESTED THAT TO AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT. I CALLED THE NUMBER LISTED IN THE LETTER AND WAS TOLD I CAN HAVE A LOANER UNTIL REPAIR IS DONE WHICH I GOT THROUGH A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. WITHIN A WEEK I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE REPAIR CAN BE DONE. ON AUGUST 3RD THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS DONE; WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL BE DONE AND THAT I NEED TO RETURN THE LOANER CAR. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL CALLS TO HONDA DIVISION INFORMING THEM OF THE INCONVENIENCE THIS HAS ON MY FAMILY FOR NOT HAVING ANY ONE SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT. I WAS NOTIFIED ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO THAT MY CAR WAS SUBJECT TO RECALL FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS. NOTICE SAID PARTS WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL JUNE 2016. I CALLED MARIN HONDA THE LOCAL DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD ORDER PARTS. TODAY, JULY 11TH, I GOT A CALL INFORMING ME THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ORDERED WAS IN AND TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR INSTALLATION. I ASKED ABOUT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "BACK ORDERED". I SAID I WANTED TO WAIT FOR BOTH PARTS ORDERED FOR THE RECALL REPLACEMENT TO BE AVAILABLE SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO SPEND 2 DAYS ON THIS RECALL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WOULD NOT BE HELD FOR ME AND MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WAS AVAILABLE. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY RISK BUT HONDA IS NOT GIVING RECALL REPLACEMENT ANY PRIORITY, MUCH LESS THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. CUSTOMER SAFETY SHOULD BE NUMBER 1 PRIORITY.

I NOTIFIED O'NEIL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND HAVE CALLED MONTHLY TO CHECK ON STATUS. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT PARTS ARE ON ORDER AND DELAY IS DUE TO NATIONAL RECALL, SHORTAGE OF PARTS AND DELAY DUE TO EARTHQUAKES IN JAPAN, WHERE POSSIBLE MANUFACTURE OR DISTRIBUTION IS LOCATED. REASONABLE TIME OF 60 DAYS TO MAKE REPAIR HAS PASSED. THE ONLY REASON I AM FILING A COMPLAINT IS DUE TO HAVING A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH A TOYOTA VEHICLE, WHERE IT TOOK OVER 6 MONTHS TO GET A RECALL REPAIR MADE. IF HONDA & TOYOTA AND OTHER AUTO MANUFACTURES ARE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THERE PARTS FROM OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY. IT SEEMS REASONABLE TO SET UP MANUFACTURE AND DISTRIBUTIONS WITHIN THE UNITED STATES TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS RECALL SPECIFICALLY REGARDING AIR BAGS IS OF EXTREME NATURE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF AFFECTED VEHICLES. THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED DEATHS AND INJURY IN MY STATE OF KANSAS. I EXPECT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO TAKE AND ACTIVE ROLE IN EXPEDITING A RESOLUTION TO THIS NATIONAL SAFETY ISSUE. AND FURTHERMORE TO ENACT LEGISLATION TO PROTECT US CITIZENS AND DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY FROM AUTOMOBILE MANUFACTURERS, REGARDING THEIR SUPPLIERS AND THE NEED FOR TIMELY RESOLUTION. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS VERY UPSET, ASKED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND WAS GIVEN THE NUMBER FOR THE MAIN AMERICAN HONDA OFFICE. I CALLED THEM RIGHT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD AT THIS TIME ONLY THE ONE AIRBAG WAS ON RECALL, I VOICED MY SERIOUS CONCERN AS MY CAR HAD NOT BEEN ON THE RECALL LIST A YEAR AGO AND NOW IT WAS AND I HAVE 2 GRANDCHILDREN THAT FREQUENTLY RIDE IN MY CAR. I REQUESTED THAT THEY DISCONNECT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG, THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO THAT, THEY TRIED TO ASSURE ME IT WAS SAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE MY CAR WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN. I REQUESTED THAT IT BE NOTED I WAS NOT SATISFIED. THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER. RIGHT NOW I AM IN GOD'S HANDS AS THIS IS THE ONLY TRANSPORTATION I HAVE. IT MAKES NO SENSE THAT BOTH AIRBAGS WERE NOT REPLACED WHEN THEY HAD MY CAR AND REPLACED THE DRIVER'S. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 1 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING 35 MPH CRASHED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY HOWEVER, CHEMICALS WERE SEEN COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD AND THE FOOTWELL. BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUFFERED LUNG IRRITATION DUE TO THE AIR BAG CHEMICALS THAT EMITTED FROM THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE ACTIVE AND SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WAS AWAITING THE RESULTS OF THE INSPECTION. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 106,000. THE CONSUMER STATED AS SHE WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO A PARKING LOT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CAME OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, FORCING HER TO STOP TO AVOID A HEAD-ON-COLLISION AND SHE WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE NYS THRUWAY SOUTHBOUND ON A CLEAR, DRY DAY, WE WERE ABOUT TO EXIT ONTO EXIT 13N WHEN A SPEEDING SEDAN CUT US OFF BEFORE WE COULD EXIT AND WE HAD TO STEER THE VEHICLE BACK ONTO THE THRUWAY. THE 2009 HONDA CR-V WENT OUT-OF-CONTROL AND WE WEAVED OVER 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND HIT THE CEMENT MEDIAN, BOUNCED OFF AND HIT IT AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER FRONT SAFETY BAGS PARTIALLY DEPLOYED AND SIDE BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE AMBULANCED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. I SUFFERED NUMEROUS BRUISING AND ABRASIONS TO THE CHEST. HE SUFFERED MASSIVE BRUISING AND 4 BROKEN RIBS. THERE IS DEFINITELY A STEERING ISSUE WITH THE 2009 HONDA CR-V AND SHOULD NOT BE RATED A SAFE VEHICLE. WE HAD PREVIOUSLY LEASED A 2006 AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH THAT MODEL.
