From the moment we drove off the lot, this car had had one issue after another, nearly cause me to lose my job because I couldn’t make it to work due to the car being busted. It was getting really bad MPGs, they said it’s fine. It started overheating, they said the coolant fans and radiator cap were what was wrong, for a long while now the Tire pressure management system has been ON, 24/7, my tires are not low. I bought new tires for the CRV. The mechanics don’t really seem interested in fixing anything.
I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED AND CAR SERVICED ON 6/21/19 AND ON 6/22/19 MY TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING ONLY 2 MILES ON THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED MY TIRES AND ALL WERE AT 40LBS. I RESET THE TIRE PRESSURE CENSURE, AND A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS YET AGAIN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I CHECK MY PRESSURE AGAIN AND ALL WERE 40LBS. BEFORE MY TIRES WERE ROTATED MY LIGHT NEVER CAME ON, AND NOW IT COMES ON AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A WEEK. NOT SURE IF IT IS THE SENSOR THAT HAS GONE BAD OR IF THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HOW THE TIRES ARE ROTATING. MY CAR HAS 34,500 MILES ON IT. CHECK TIRE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT; NO POT HOLES WERE HIT AND THE ROADS WERE NOT UNEVEN.

THE TIRE GAUGE LIGHT WILL NOT RESET. I MADE SURE THE TIRES WERE INFLATED CORRECTLY. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC FOR A NORMAL BRAKE REPAIR. I ASKED HIM TO REST THE TIRE GAUGE. HE ADVISED ME THE GAUGE SENSORS ARE NOT WORKING ON ANY OF THE TIRES.
TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN PRESSURE IS FINE AND/OR COMES BACK ON AFTER RECALIBRATION AND CORRECT PRESSURE IN TIRES IN CONFIRMED. HAS DONE THIS FOR 3 YEARS, INTERMITTENTLY. HONDA WON'T DEAL WITH THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY CAN'T REPLICATE IT.
TIRE FAILURE - CONTINENTAL CROSS CONTACT LX 225/65/R17 WHILE TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH WITH MEAN TEMPERATURE OF 74 DEGREES AND MAX OF 84 THE TIRE BLEW OUT WITH NO APPARENT REASON TO DO SO. VERY CLEARLY THERE WERE DISTINCT FLAPS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE TIRE THAT GAVE IN ADDITION TO THE FRONT SIDE. APPEARED AS IT THE WALL WEAKENED.

FAULTY TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM (TPMS). THIS SENSOR GIVES FAULTY READING EVEN WHEN TIRES ARE CHECKED AT A MILITARY BASE AUTO SHOP AND LOCAL DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP. WAS SHOWN HOW TO REMOVE SENSOR LIGHT BY CUSTOMER SERVER AT DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP. THE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY MILES. LEFT SENSOR LIGHT ON SO DEALERSHIP WOULD SEE IT BUT HE WOULD NOT CHANGE IT AS IT WAS NOT ON A RECALL. ALSO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE TPS LIGHT GOING ON FOR NO REASON AND NOW A GROWLING SOUND WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD AND IT IS COLD OUTSIDE BELOW 20 DEGREES WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE. MANUFACTURE NOT NOTIFIED. THESE ARE ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED FROM OTHER CR-V OWNERS NUMEROUS TIMES A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED GET A BEFORE SOMEONE LOSSES THERE LIFE OR CAUSES OTHER TO LOOSE THEIRS.

I HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND BALANCED AT DISCOUNT TIRES ON 1-13-2016 AND THE SERVICE MAN INFORMED ME THAT AT 18746 MILES THAT THE TIRES WERE HALF GONE! THE CAR CAME WITH CONTINENTAL CROSS CONTACT LX 225/65R17 TIRES 60K TIRES. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED MUCH MORE FROM HONDA. I QUESTIONED THE SALESMAN AT THE TIME ABOUT THE TIRES AND HE ASSURED ME THESE WERE GOOD TIRES. I DO NOT CONSISTED THIS GOOD. WHY WOULD HONDA PUT SUCH POOR PREFORMING TIRES ON THERE CARS?

THEY ALWAYS CHECK FOR ME AND TELL ME I'M FINE, AND TO JUST RESET THE LIGHT. I'M AFRAID THAT PEOPLE WILL IGNORE THESE FALSE WARNINGS AND EVENTUALLY DRIVE WITH A TIRE THAT IS ACTUALLY UNDER INFLATED.

THE FIRST TIME WAS AS WINTER WAS SETTING IN, AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, WHERE WE BOTH ASSUMED IT WAS JUST THE COLD WEATHER CAUSING THE TIRES TO LOSE A LITTLE PRESSURE, SO THEY PUT A LITTLE AIR IN AND RESET THE BUTTON. THE OTHER THREE TIMES, IT HAS BEEN QUITE WARM, SO COLD WEATHER IS NOT THE ISSUE. EACH TIME, I HAVE NOT BEEN ANYWHERE I COULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, BUT I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY MECHANIC TWICE AND STOPPED AT A FORD DEALER I WAS PASSING WHEN IT HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND OF JULY 4TH. EACH TIME, NOBODY COULD FIND ANY PROBLEM, AND WE JUST RESET THE BUTTON. IT DOESN'T MAKE ME COMFORTABLE TO SEE THAT A NUMBER OF PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. TOOK VEHICLE TO HONDA OF SERRAMONTE AND LEFT VEHICLE THERE SO THEY COULD TEST IT IN THE MORNING. NEXT DAY IN THE AFTERNOON I WENT TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE, SERVICE REP WAI WONG WHO ASSISTED ME SAID TECHNICIAN DID NOT HEAR THE SOUND. SHE TOLD ME THERE ARE A FEW CASES OF THIS PROBLEM SO FAR. I ASKED HER FOR A SERVICE REPORT FOR MY RECORDS, SHE SAID IT IS NOT REQUIRED BECAUSE NO WORK WAS PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE. SO I ASKED IF THE GRINDING NOISE WOULD DAMAGE THE ENGINE, SHE PROMISED VERY CONFIDENTLY THAT SHE IS POSITIVE THE ENGINE WOULD NOT BE DAMAGED BY THE GRINDING NOISE. IT HAS STILL BEEN MAKING THIS GRINDING NOISE FROM TIME TO TIME IN THE MORNINGS ONLY. ALSO, WITH A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT WOULD TURN ON FROM TIME TO TIME. I'VE CHECKED ONLINE FOR ANY RECALLS RELATED TO THE ABOVE THREE ISSUES I AM HAVING WITH MY VEHICLE, BUT SO FAR NONE TO DATE.

THE FRONT SEAT CANNOT BE ADJUSTED TO MY COMFORT....IT DOES NOT STAY UP...I NEED TO SIT HIGH AND IT IS IMPOSSBLE TO MAKE IT STAY UP BECAUSE OF WHERE THE LEVER TO ADJUST IT IS. I WILL ALWAYS READ THIS SIGHT BEFORE BUYING ANOTHER CAR. I HAVE HAD CRV 2014 18 MONTHS AND BEGAN PROBLEMS AFTER 2 WEEKS. TPMS LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON EVERY FEW WEEKS. LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE BAD AND HIGH BEAMS ARE RIDICULOUSLY TOO FAR AHEAD AND CAN'T SEE RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. THE HEAD REST LEANS SO FAR FORWARD ITS UNCOMFORTABLE AND AWKWARD. MY ENGINE MAKES A TERRIBLE GRINDING SOUND WHEN STARTING THE CAR. AFTER READING ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, I CONSIDER MYSELF FORTUNATE I HAVEN'T HAD ACCELERATION UPON APPLYING THE BRAKES OR NO THROTTLE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I WILL BE CAUTIOUS OF THOSE PROBLEMS NOW SINCE I'VE HAD SO MANY OF THE OTHERS LISTED HERE.

DURING A 3500 MILE TRIP THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING WARNING LIGHT (TPMS) CAME ON AT LEAST 6 TIMES. EACH TIME I STOPPED AND NONE OF THE TIRES WERE LOW. I RESET THE SYSTEM AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE. EVENTUALLY, THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I REPEATED THE SAME, STOP AND CHECK PROCEDURE, EACH TIME THERE WASN'T ANY VARIATION IN THE TIRE PRESSURE. I HAVE HAD TPMS ON OTHER VEHICLES AND NEVER HAVE I HAD A FALSE READING. THE HONDA SYSTEM IS A BASIC SYSTEM AT BEST AND FROM READING OTHER COMPLAINTS, HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH PROBLEMS. THEIR SYSTEM IS MORE OF AN ANNOYANCE THAN BENEFIT. I WAS TOLD THE 2014'S HAD UPDATED SOFTWARE WHICH DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK. HONDA NEEDS TO DESIGN A SUITABLE FIX FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM. *TR

SINCE MAY 27TH THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY 4-5 DAYS A WEEK. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED I UTILIZED THE MANUAL TO CALIBRATE THE SYSTEM, BUT THEN IT CAME ON AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY CHECKED ALL OF THE TIRES, CALIBRATED THE SYSTEM, AND STATED THAT EVERYTHING SEEMED OKAY. ANOTHER 5 DAYS LATER THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THE RAN A CHECK THROUGH THE ENTIRE COMPUTER TIRE SYSTEM AND TEST DROVE IT, SO THEY SAY, BUT WHILE HEADING HOME THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR THE FOURTH TIME. I CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE, AND RECALIBRATED THE SYSTEM PER THE OWNERS MANUAL (TIRE PRESSURE WAS HIGH FROM THE DEALER (@37PSI), AND WAS RESET TO THE 30PSI FACTORY SPEC). THE LIGHT ACTIVATED AGAIN WITHIN SEVERAL DAYS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND THEY BASICALLY DID THE SAME - TIRE PRESSURE CHECK AND SYSTEM CALIBRATION. WE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE NOW FOR 6 MONTHS. AFTER EACH SYSTEM CALIBRATION AND RESET, THE LIGHT WILL AGAIN ACTIVATE ANYWHERE FROM 1 DAY TO APPROXIMATELY 10 DAYS - EACH TIME THE TIRE PRESSURE HAS BEEN WITHIN THE FACTORY SPECIFICATION. LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON ABOUT 3 TIMES WEEKLY EVEN THOUGH TIRE PRESSURES WERE GOOD. WENT TO RAY PRICE 12/28/13 (MILEAGE 5027) AND EXPLAINED SITUATION. RAY PRICE RAN CODES, WHICH ALL CAME UP CLEAR AND THEY RESET THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT AGAIN. NEXT DAY, THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. 1/4/14 BACK TO RAY PRICE, TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT ON AGAIN. RAN CODES AGAIN AND CHECKED TIRE PRESSURE AGAIN, BOTH WERE GOOD. THE TECH SAID IT MUST BE A RF SIGNAL AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT IT. I CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA 1/30/14 AND 1/31/14 ABOUT ISSUE. AMERICAN HONDA STATED THAT THEY ARE AWAITING A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THIS ISSUE. SOFTWARE UPDATE SHOULD BE RELEASED BY END OF FEBRUARY, BUT NO GUARANTEES. THE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON CLOSE TO 90% OF THE TIME SINCE WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR. ONCE THE LIGHT COMES ON IT NEEDS TO BE RESET BECAUSE IT WILL NOT GO OUT ON ITS OWN. HAVING THE TIRE PRESSURE COMING ON FALSELY CONSTANTLY IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. RAY PRICE CONTACTED ME ON 2/12/14 STATING THAT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS AVAILABLE AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING THE CAR IN ON 2/14/14. AFTER RECEIVING THE CAR FROM THE APPOINTMENT I CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND THE TIRES WERE OVERINFLATED BY THE DEALER TO 35 PSI INSTEAD OF THE MANUFACTURES RECOMMENDED 30 PSI. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THEIR QUICK FIX FOR THE ISSUE AND NOT AN ACCEPTABLE RESOLUTION. OVERINFLATED TIRES MAKE YOUR VEHICLE RIDE HARSHLY, ARE MORE PRONE TO ROAD HAZARDS, WEAR UNEVENLY. OUR SALESPERSON HAD ALREADY WARNED US ABOUT THIS DURING THE WALK THROUGH AT THE DEALERSHIP TELLING US THERE IS NO NEED FOR US TO PULL OVER BECAUSE MORE THAN LIKELY THERE IS NO PROBLEM. BEING AN INFORMED CONSUMER WE WERE ALREADY AWARE THAT HONDA HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THEIR TPM SYSTEM ON THE 2014 MODEL. IT SIMPLE DOES NOT WORK. IT CRIES WOLF AND CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. AFTER RESETTING THE LIGHT IT WILL CONTINUALLY RETURN AND HAVE TO BE RESET WITHIN 50 MILES OR LESS OF IN TOWN DRIVING. ALTERNATELY WE RESET IT BEFORE A 240 MILES ROUND TRIP HWY DRIVE AND THE TPM LIGHT DID NOT COME ON DURING THE ENTIRE HWY TRIP. THE PURPOSE OF THE GOVERNMENT MANDATING TPM IN ALL NEW CARS WAS TWO FOLD. FIRST FOR FUEL ECONOMY, SECOND FOR SAFETY. SINCE THE TPM LIGHT PROVIDES FALSE ALARMS EVERY WEEK, IT DOES NOT ACCOMPLISH EITHER GOAL. WE HAVE HAD NO FORMAL RESPONSE FROM HONDA ACKNOWLEDGING THERE IS A PROBLEM OR THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON A FIX. HONDA DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE TPMS WARNING CAN NOT BE RELIED ON BECAUSE IT GIVES FALSE INDICATIONS. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE TPMS ON THE 2014 HONDA CR-V IS AN INDIRECT SYSTEM. THERE ARE NO ACTUAL PRESSURE SENSORS. IT USES THE WHEEL SPEED/ROTATION SENSORS TO DETERMINE WHEN THERE IS A TIRE PRESSURE PROBLEM. THE COMPUTER INDICATES A PROBLEM BASED ON DIFFERENT SPEEDS/ROTATION OF THE WHEELS. I DON'T KNOW IF THE SENSORS ARE THE PROBLEM OR IF IT IS THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE. *TR
