My mechanic has said that they have replaced many valve cover gaskets on Hondas and they’re not sure why there has not been a recall. They’ve been keeping an eye on mine but now it’s time to get it replaced. I need to know why there has not been a recall.

Vehicle stalls while accelerating from a stop. I have had it checked out with a mechanic but he could diagnose the cause. I take great care when especially making a left turn. When the vehicle stalls I have to gently accelerate so it won’t shut down. Very unsafe. Has been occurring for the last 2 years.

The fuel pump failed while I was driving on the highway. My car entirely and suddenly stopped working while I was driving in an extremely busy highway almost causing me to get into an accident. There was a recall issued for my year and type of vehicle but my vin number was not listed and I was not notified or contacted of the potential danger. I spoke with Honda and they told me my vehicle vin was not under the recall. I had lights flash in my dashboard almost immediately before my gas just stopped working and I had to almost coast to the side of the road. Terrifying.

On [XXX], my 2015 Honda CRV completely stopped at a traffic light on [XXX] . All warning lights came on. At the time, the vehicle had 60,000 miles. I was towed to Bill Page Honda in Annandale, Va. They could not determined the cause of the engine failure. I was then towed to Ourisman Honda of Tysons Corner where I purchased the vehicle. (Reference attached invoice dated 08/08/03) No reason could be given for the complete shut down of the engine. Note that all required maintenance work had been completed on this vehicle as scheduled. A used motor was installed. I'm filing the complaint in light of the current probe by the NHTSA on this Honda vehicle even though the year of my vehicle is not included in the probe. I've spoken with an NHTSA representative on 11/18/24 (Call Ref.# 1586954) who referred me to the Federal Trade Commission asking that I make reference to my call to the NHTSA. I left a voicemail on 11/18/24 with the Federal Trade Commission at (202)366-2222. I'm waiting for a call back. PNA VTC ACTUATOR, TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER, ENGINE VALVES, FUEL JOINT PIPE AND TIMING CHAIN ALL WENT BAD AT 90k miles

Engine failed when entering the highway. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior. The car was undriveable and I was stranded on the highway for 2 hours. The engine was replaced as I needed a car right away. The car is available for inspection but the damaged engine is no longer available.

[XXX] 2015 Honda CRV would not start, called AAA who determined battery needed to be replaced. AAA replaced battery on the spot upon purchase. [XXX] 2015 Honda CRV would not start, called AAA who determined battery was bad, needed to be replaced, AAA replaced with a AAA battery. Battery drain continued, exhausted the AAA road side allotment. 10/2023 Local Service Center checked battery and determined AAA was bad. Purchased and had Interstate Battery installed. Battery drain continued. Purchased AllStart Microburst to jump start the 2015 Honda CRV. 12/15/2023 Went to Balise Honda (see attachments) for diagnostic testing. Balise Honda provided a diagnostic result for the "good" battery, but determined that the Remote Start System that was installed by Boch Honda when I purchase the 2015 Honda CRV on [XXX] was the problem. The remote start was disconnected. 9/17/2024 Went back to Balise Honda requested another diagnostic test. Car needed to be "jump started" almost daily even though the CRV is driven daily to charge the battery. Disconnecting the remote start did not solve the battery drain. Balise determined a $3212.12 Instrument Panel Wire Harness and Keyless Access Unit was needed. No diagnosis report provided. 10/9/2024: To date the electrical cause is uncertain. For the very first time I've noticed that my car won't start in a normal way. It was a couple of months ago. It was driving fine back then. Two weeks ago, not only my car won't start many lights came on including the engine service light. I took my car to Columbia Honda dealership; they only tested my battery and told me the battery was fine. So, they let me go. On [XXX] my car experienced the same symptoms but this time besides all these lights that came on, my car was not accelerating, just started stalling, therefore I had to take it to the closest shop which is Custom complete automotive that is 0.5 miles away from me. At first, they weren't able to identify the issue, but they found a service bulletin issued by Honda on March 18 , 2016,(please find it attached to my email) according to which there were multiple complaints from the Honda customers about the same issues that are connected to each other. Those are: crank sensor malfunction, O-ring, Intake manifold gasket A, Engine Wire Harness. Based on this Bulletin, Custom complete automotive manager Kyle recommended that all those parts needed to be replaced but the repair cost is enormous so I've decided only on the crank sensor to be replaced so that I can proceed with further repairs while be able to drive my car (I've attached the Invoice from Custom automotive for the crankshaft sensor including their labor work and diagnostics). Driving car made a rattle noise in the engine compartment. Driving I lost power on the freeway. Engine light came on. Had it towed. No one wants to touch the problem being the actuator. There is no fix for it according to dealer. Problem will occur again & again.

My 2015 Honda CR-V, at 128,547 miles, with remaining oil life @ 30%, the check oil light is flashing. Took it to the dealership and was told the car was 3 quarts low in oil. After diagnosis, I was told I needed a new engine because my the oil being lost is actually backing up into the engine. To replace the engine would cost me out of pocket $7527.72, because the car is no longer under warranty. Really, at 128,547 miles to replace the engine when the car was purchased and has been serviced by this same dealership? Something is wrong with this picture. I purchased a Honda based on it's decent reputation to stand behind their product. But Honda Corp advised me today that I'm just at a loss in this situation. They have no intentions of making this good for the customer! What a let-down!

The contact owns a 2015 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50-60 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. On several occasions the contact was able to depress the accelerator pedal several times and regain forward motive power. The contact stated that other times the vehicle was coasted to the side of the roadway and restarted several times before regaining motive power. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the contact was informed that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed during the failure to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started pulling to the right. The contact became aware that the electric power steering was not functioning properly. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle idled abnormally rough, causing the seats to vibrate. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the power steering assist control module. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V305000 (Engine) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was known.

The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to shift into park(P) and restart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent; however, several times after stalling, several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The contact stated vehicle was hesitating while depressing the accelerator pedal before the vehicle responded. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start at one point, and the battery was replaced. The contact stated that the stalling had occurred when the weather was hot. The contact checked the coolant level, and the reservoir was full. Additionally, the contact stated that following an oil change, the brake pedal was depressed with force and the check oil warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after checking the oil level, two quarts of oil needed to be added to top up the oil level. The contact checked for oil leaks but found none. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

The contact stated that vehicle started to lose motive power. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle made a loud revving sound but failed to respond as needed. The contact stopped and turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the vehicle would not exceed 15 MPH while driving. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the crank shaft position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure had recurred. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle had recently started to backfire during cold starts and the vehicle would only start after several attempts. The contact stated that there was an abnormal odor of gasoline following the backfire. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to manufacturer Technical Service Bulletin number: 16-011 - CKP sensor no signal and engine wire harness (Engine). The failure mileage was approximately 169,000.

There is an issue with the VCT actuator in all 2.4 liters engine built by Honda from 2011 to 2016. I have a 2015 Honda CRV and I am worried that it may cause a major breakdown for me on the road or a major accident due to this. I have taken my vehicle to the dealer multiple times for this issue and they refuse to fix it saying it is out of warranty and we cannot do anything. Tried calling Honda corporate customer service and they hang up on me . There are thousands of Honda owners who are suffering with the same issues. Why is there not a recall so far for this fix as Honda was able to resolve this issues with 2017 engine onward. Please look into it or if you need more information I can show you multiple Honda forums with the same complaints. Please force Honda moters Co to own the responsibility of fixing this issue as it is a manufacturing defect, not a regular wear and tear.

Differential problem, converter torque locked up transmission and froze engine. No engine light or warnings were given, this happened in the middle of rush hour traffic where I could have been rear ended from sudden engine failure and was very dangerous for me to exit my vehicle for help. Three times the vehicle would not start while at Walmart parking lot since over February 2020. I push the button to start and it wont start. The air condition/heater does not work since winter of 2021/2022. The electrical system has gone haywire twice. The lights on dashboard flash and the numbers roll all over since 2021. The door locks are not wanting to lock now for the past 12 months. while I was inside the car the door would not unlock The engine seems to stall for the past 8 months. It feels like it is not getting gas. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer three times for the air with no positive results yet.

Our well maintained crv suddenly began to make loud noises and stall while driving. No engine/warning lights illuminated. The low mileage CRV (60k) was immediately taken to a Honda dealership. It needed a complete engine replacement. The cause was not identified. Honda failed to make it right and acknowledge the problem. The car has also stalled while in reverse and vibrates when stopped.

I noticed the car shook at first in park or at a light. I made Honda aware 1 month in at 25K miles and was told it was a common flaw with my year make and model and there was nothing to be done. It progressed over 1 year into vigarously shaking while in reverse. I was driving on the road and my car completely cut off on me without warning. It would restart, the ac blew hot, then cut back off. I was almost hit from behind while traffic kept going. I got out of the car for safety to have it towed to the Honda dealership. While off the tow, the car started back up again and went into drive. However, the check engine light was still on and the shaking was still ongoing. Honda told me they cleared the codes and could find nothing wrong. I made them keep the car. It has now been two week. After about 5 days they told me a list of the following problems: 1.engine harnes1.engine harness had s had corrosion due to coolant leakage 2.speed sensor and both transmission warmer coolant hoses with clamps needed repair 3. Transmission side mount 4. Evaporator canister vent shut valve stuck closed 5. front engine mount is collapsed My warranty company refused to repair issue #1 and #2 due to the corrosion. Honda charged me $1800 to repair the problem. The service manager mentioned in a phone call that my car was salvage while reading an email from his district manager. I can not find out if this is in fact true and the sold me a certified pre owned care under false pretenses. I want to make others aware.

For the past 4 months, we have had intermittent starting issues with our 2015 Honda CRV. It takes numerous times to start the car. I have researched this issue online and it appears to be a widespread problem amongst thousands of Honda owners. It usually requires significant costs to repair the issue ($600-1,000). I have called Honda directly and they are of no use and will not help. This appears to be a huge issue and It appears Honda would rather sweep this under the rug and not recognize this as a widespread issue. We need someone to begin a formal inquiry into this intolerable situation because it is a safety issue when you can’t start your car in the winter or at night miles from home or in a different state. On August 1, 2021 and again on February 26, 2022 I had major issues with transmission slipping gears and my 2015 Honda CR-V stalling out on an incline while driving home. This was very dangerous and nearly caused an accident. I had my 8 year old son in the back as well and many cars almost rear-ended me both times. Additionally, i experience VERY rough idling and extremely rough gear changes which lead me to believe there is an issue with my car's transmission, specifically with the CVT system on this car. It continues to feel VERY unsafe and unreliable as i drive it and i am very worried about my safety and the longevity of my cars ability to continue running.

Purchased used at 64,000 miles. Second day of ownership/operation vehicle began stalling while in operation on the road. This happened when coming to a stop, when accelerating from a stop and while at high speeds on the highway. I am not sure if th problem is caused by drivetrain, fuel delivery, engine, or electrical issues.

In June 2016, my Honda CR-V 2015 broke down, lost all power, and stopped working in the middle of the road. The vehicle was towed to a Honda Dealership - Diamond Bar, CA. The Honda Mechanic diagnosed a P2138, did not solve the problem, and sent me home. The vehicle broke down once again, only for them to claim again that they could not recreate the problem. The vehicle had 12,000 miles on it at this time. I filed a complained with the NHTSA at this time. In September 2017, my Honda CR-V broke down again, lost all power, and stopped working in the middle of the road. The vehicle was towed to a Honda Dealership - Alhambra, CA. The Honda Mechanic diagnosed a P2647 and fixed the issue. The vehicle had 35,000 miles on it at this time. Now, in August 2021, my Honda CR-V broke down again, lost all power, and stopped working in the middle of the road. The vehicle was driven to a local mechanic, where he diagnosed the car to have 4 OBII codes and recommended taking it to a Honda. I took it to a Honda Dealership - Buena Park, CA. The Honda Mechanic diagnosed a P2128 only, said they don't take recommendations from other mechanics, and replaced in the APP Sensor and gas pedal. The vehicle had 83,000 miles on it at this time. Only 1 week later, My Honda CR-V broke down again, lost all power, and stopped working in the middle of the road. My ODII code diagnosed the issue as a P2138 - the exact same code diagnosed and not fixed by Honda - Diamond Bar, CA back in 2016. When I called Honda Buena Park about the car breaking down again, they stated they will charge me another $150 diagnosis fee to look at it again. The above codes have the same issues over and over again, and I believe this vehicle should have a recall with no individual/franchise dealership willing to bite the bullet, looking to yank customer's chains to make the most amount of money for simple fixes. The engine wiring harness melted and frayed. Two different garages (including Honda dealer) could not determine cause. As part of the fact-finding, multiple fuses blew every time they were replaced - at minimum in fuse box under hood harness and also under dash. For months the car could be sluggish when first leaving garage (like something wasn't catching) but I don't think that was related (although that problem has disappeared it seems.) I drove the car one day. Parked it. Got in it the next day and it was dead. Battery (3 yrs old) was at 50%. Starter was fine. Assumed it was starter button on dash. When car got to Honda, battery was dead. First garage found blown fuses, replaced, blew/melted. Did get it to start after many trials, but then brake lights wouldn't turn off. Then next morning dead again. That's when discovered harness. Never started again (until harness replaced at dealer06.)

SUV stalls when starting after overnight or day stay and driving slowly in reverse for about 3 yards. The engine can be restarted with starter button. This is dangerous, because I am parking for work in an underground garage with minimal lighting and other drivers do not expect a vehicle stalled half way pulling out from a parking space.

I have had this car for 3 years and have needed to replace the alternator twice. This is a safety concern, as I am ansi for parent and this could leave anyone stranded with the inability to start the vehicle under any conditions. This is a know problem with this specific year CRV, and is frequently discussed in the CRV community as well as at the dealership, by repair staff. There should be a required recall to fix whatever is causing alternators needing to be replaced every 18 months.

So I went to my Honda dealership (Doylestown, PA) today with issues of my oil lamp going on (for a few days). The oil was low (it seemed to burn real quick) and adding additional oil was the item that was performed on my vehicle. However the service representative told me to come back after I have driven for 1000 additional miles for them to check and see if the issue is the Piston Rings. Which he stated may run at least $3000. So I did some research and noticed that a recall (recall number KF6) was created for engines issues for Honda CRV 2015 (mgr Feb. 8 2015 - July 28, 2016). My SUV was mgr on April 2015. I wanted to see if it's possible that there is an issue with my vehicle and this recall.

NO ENGINE RESPONSE FROM STOP. 2 TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE ENGINE RESPONDS TO ACCELERATOR. HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN ENGINE AT TEMPERATURE. DEALER INSISTED IT WAS TRANSMISSION. CHECKED AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT IT COULD BE THE ENGINE. HAVE SEEN SAME COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET BUT NOT SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM. HAPPENS MOST TRIPS BUT NOT ALWAYS. MAY HAPPEN FOR SEVERAL STOPS OR MAY NOT. STARTED WHEN CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND CONTINUES TODAY. STARTED AT ABOUT 30,000 MILES AND CAR HAS 90,000 MILES NOW. DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE.

LOUD RATTLING NOISES WITH ASSOCIATED STRONG UNSETTLING VIBRATIONS COME INTO THE CABIN. THESE VIBRATIONS AND RATTLING NOISES HAVE BEEN VERY DISTRACTING. THE RATTLING NOISES BEGIN AT A LOW VOLUME AND BECOME QUITE LOUD. THE ASSOCIATED VIBRATIONS MAKE ME FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THESE DISTRACTIONS CERTAINLY DISTRACT ME FROM DRIVING SAFELY AND ARE A SAFETY HAZARD.

I TOOK MY CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP BECAUSE MY CAR VIBRATES AND IDLES LOW TO WHERE IT FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO CUT OFF AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT WHILE IN GEAR. THE SHOP CHANGED OUT THE VALVE GASKET AND DID AN OIL CHANGE PAID $260.00 THE CAR CONTINUED TO LOW IDLE AND VIBRATE AT THE STOP LIGHTS AND AND STOP SIGNS FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL OUT. A WEEK LATER I TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP AND THEY CHANGED OUT THE COILS AND SPARK PLUGS ALSO CLEANED THE BODY THROTTLE WHICH COST ME $820 LEFT THERE AND STILL MY CAR AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS WHILE IN GEAR VIBRATES AND IDLES LOW AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL OUT. SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THAT SHOP 3 MORE TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEAL SHIP WHERE THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND UPDATED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND STILL MY CAR VIBRATES AND IDLE LOWS AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL OUT WHEN IN GEAR AT STOP LIGHTS AND STOP SIGNS. HONDA DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE.

JUST PURCHASED A 2015 CRV EX. EVERYTHING WAS COPASETIC UNTIL THE FIRST TIME IT WOULDN'T START UP. WHEN I PRESSED THE IGNITION I LET OFF THE BRAKE SEEMINGLY TOO EARLY, BECAUSE AS SOON AS I DID SO, IT PUTTED TO A HALT. TURNED IT OVER ON A JUMP AND CHALKED IT UP TO LEAVING A LIGHT ON OR OLD/WEEK BATTERY. THE SECOND AND THIRD TIME, ABOUT TWO AND THREE WEEKS LATER WAS REASON TO BE BECAUSE OF THE SAME CAUSE. THEN THE OCCASIONAL NOT STARTING TURNED INTO NEEDING A JUMP EVERY TIME I USED THE VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO TWO AUTO SUPPLY STORES TO GET CODES ON THE ISSUE. ONR SHOP SAID BAD ALTERNATOR DIODE, THE OTHER A BAD ALTERNATOR AND BAD BATTERY. THEN THE BATTERY BLEW UP. I IMAGINE I TRIED TO START IT TOO SOON TO WHEN I KILLED IT BECAUSE THERE WAS A DEEP BOOM, TO FIND OUT THE BATTERY BLEW UP. THERE WAS A LARGE HOLE IN THR SIDE OF IT. SO I PUT IN A NEW/USED/ LARGER BATTERY THAT WAS NEVER ABLE TO START THE CAR ITSELF SO I CONTINUED JUMPING IT EVERY TIME I USED IT SND NEVER TURNING IT OFF WHILE RUNNING ERRANDS. AT ONE POINT I HAD A FRIEND PUT HIS MULTIMETER TO USE TO TEST THE ALTERNSTOR. THOSE NUMBERS WHERE ALL OVER THE PLACE, JUMPING UP AND DOWN ON AN IDLE. AT THIS POINT IVE CHALKED IT UP TO A BAD DIODE, PARASITIC DRAIN, OR BAD WIRING. HELP! I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX THIS THING.

AFTER REVIEWING SB 15-046, THE INITIAL REPAIR IN 2016 WAS FOR DRIVING MODE 1. ON THE SECOND REPAIR IN 2017, THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED DRIVING MODE 2 REPAIR WITHOUT NOTIFYING ME VIA PHONE OR IN PERSON ABOUT THE REPAIR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SB 15-046. SB 15-046 STATES, FOR DRIVING MODE 2 UPDATE NOTES: -YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE SERVICE ADVISOR HAS REVIEWED THE CUSTOMER INFORMATION STATEMENT FOR DRIVING MODE 2 WITH THE CUSTOMER BEFORE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IS PERFORMED. -VERIFY THAT THE SERVICE ADVISOR HAS NOTED ON THE CUSTOMER INFORMATION STATEMENT THAT HE OR SHE HAS REVIEWED THE CUSTOMER INFORMATION STATEMENT FOR DRIVING MODE 2 WITH THE CUSTOMER. -THE NOTED CUSTOMER INFORMATION STATEMENT MUST BE RETAINED FOR FUTURE RECORDS AND ATTACHED TO THE REPAIR ORDER BEFORE DOING THE SOFTWARE UPDATE, AS THIS SOFTWARE MAY HAVE A SMALL IMPACT ON FUEL ECONOMY. IN EARLY 2018, AROUND THE 80K MILEAGE MARK THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS DUE FOR IT'S OIL TO BE CHANGED, CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND IT APPEARED DRY. THE CAR HAD BEEN SOUNDING FUNNY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS, BUT NEVER CONSIDERED THE OIL LEVEL AN ISSUE OR THE CAUSE OF THE FUNNY SOUNDS. ONCE I FILLED THE TANK THE SOUND DISAPPEARED. HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY THE DEALERSHIP 2 DAYS LATER AND COMMENTED ON THE ISSUE. AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS RECOMMENDED. WENT BACK AT 1000 MILES AFTER THE OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD ALL WAS FINE. SKIPPED FURTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TESTING AT THIS POINT. AT THE NEXT OIL CHANGE (5K MILES LATER) WAS TOLD MY TANK WAS DOWN NEARLY 4 QUARTS. DECIDED TO GO THROUGH THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AGAIN. 1ST TEST, DOWN 1 QUART 2ND TEST DOWN 3/4 QUART 3RD TEST DOWN 3/4 QUART. WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MANAGER THAT 1 QUART/1000 MILES, IS CONSIDERED ACCEPTABLE MY HONDA STANDARDS/POLICY. A SEARCH OF THE INTERNET REVEALED THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER 2015 HONDA CRV OWNERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT WITH NO RESOLUTION/SATISFACTION BY HONDA. TAKATA RECALL 2.4L VTC ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT I HAVE HAD A FEW HONDAS WITH THIS ENGINE IT IS VERY COMMON IN THIS ENGINE THE VTC SYSTEM RELIES ON PROPER OIL PRESSURE AND ALLOWS THE VTC ACTUATOR TO MAKE CONTINUOUS INTAKE VALVE TIMING CHANGES BASED ON OPERATING CONDITIONS. INTAKE VALVE TIMING IS OPTIMIZED TO ALLOW THE ENGINE TO PRODUCE MAXIMUM POWER. IF AN ERROR OCCURS, THE VTC SYSTEM CONTROL IS DISABLED AND THE VALVE TIMING IS NO LONGER VARIABLE. GAS IMPROPERLY LEAKING INTO THE OIL. MY ORIGINAL ENGINE FAILED WITH NO ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS CONFIRMING THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A DIFFERENT USED ENGINE AND AFTER 2,500 MILES ON OIL INSTALLED IN DECEMBER 2018, SENT THE OIL TO A BLACKSTONE LABS FOR TESTING ON FEB 1, 2019. THEY CONFIRMED HIGH LEVELS OF GAS IN THE OIL. MY ORIGINAL ENGINE HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AND IT WILL BE REPEATED AGAIN IF WE CANT GET HONDA TO OWN THIS PROBLEM.THEIR RESPONSE SO FAR IS THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAPPEN DURING THE WINTER MONTHS IN THE MIDWEST. THE FIRST SIGN IS THE OIL DIPSTICK SHOWING OIL LEVELS RISING OVER WEEKS. THE FINAL RESULT FROM THE LOWERED COMBUSTION TEMPERATURE OF THE OIL IS AN EVENT WHICH CONVERTS THE REMAINING OIL TO SLUDGE WHICH CAUSES ENGINE FAILURE WITHIN A SHORT TIME FRAME AFTER THE CAR COOLS DOWN. IT'S NOT CLEAR HOW THE HIGH LEVELS OF GAS IN THE OIL CAUSES THE ENGINE FAILURE OR HOW THE OIL CONVERTS TO SLUDGE WITHIN WEEKS.

I HAD JUST RETURNED FROM THE GROCERY STORE WITH ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS. WE PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND MY 2015 HONDA CR-V EX-L WAS STOPPED AND MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. MY CAR WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. BEFORE I COULD PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED UP TO A VERY HIGH RPM AND LUNGED FORWARD. EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE BREAK, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND THE CAR RAN OF TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF BUSHES BEFORE RUNNING INTO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF MY HOUSE! THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND (MAYBE LUCKILY) HER AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE AIRBAG MAY BE A TANAKA AIRBAG. I HIT MY AIRBAG WITH SUCH FORCE THAT THE AIR BEGAN TO SMOKE. MY DAUGHTER'S WAS INJURED AND SHE SUFFERED A VERY BLOODY NOSE WHEN HER HEAD HIT THE DASHBOARD. I SUFFERED BRUISES TO MY ABDOMEN. THE FORCE OF THE CRASH KNOCKED THE PLASTER OFF THE INSIDE OF MY KITCHEN AND THREW IT 10 FEET. THE STUDS WERE KNOCKED OFF THE MOORINGS. BECAUSE MY HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1929 STUDS DID NOT BRAKE AND THE DAMAGE WAS ONLY COSMETIC. IT IS LIKELY THAT THE CAR IS TOTALED AND THERE WILL BE SIGNIFICANT COSTS IN REPAIRING THE HOUSE.

2015 HONDA CR-V HAS A SPORADIC PROBLEM IN GEAR ONLY AT AN IDLE. ENGINE RPM DROPS BY 100 TO 200 RPM AND EXCESSIVE VIBRATION IS FELT. HAVING THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL WHEN THIS OCCURS DOES NOT PRODUCE THE DROP IN RPM. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED IN DRIVE AGAIN, THE RPM DROP CONTINUES TO BE OBSERVED. RELEASING THE BRAKE MOMENTARILY OR MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL RESTORES THE ENGINE RPM FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. A HESITATION OFF IDLE WHERE THE VEHICLE ALMOST DIES IN TRAFFIC HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. DEALERSHIP HAS NO AUTHORIZED CORRECTIVE REPAIRS TO PERFORM. TECH MANAGER AT DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THE PROBLEM IS KNOWN AND DEEMED ACCEPTABLE. HAVE SCHEDULED TWO MEETINGS WITH THE HONDA DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER AND SHE HAS BEEN A "NO SHOW" BOTH TIMES. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP INTO A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN AND LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR, THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE AFTER MAKING THE TURN, I EXPERIENCE A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. IF I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR, AND THEN PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY. IF INSTEAD WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER, AND I CONTINUE TO HOLD THE ACCELERATOR PRESSED DOWN THE VEHICLE STAYS IN A LOST STATE OF POWER UNTIL I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN PRESS DOWN AGAIN. THIS EVENT HAPPENS 2 TO 3 TIMES PER MONTH SINCE THE CAR WAS DELIVERED TO ME BY THE DEALER. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STEEP HILL ABOUT A BLOCK FROM MY HOMEWHEN ALL OF THE "TROUBLE" LIGHTS CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY TUNED AROUND AND THE ENGINE POWER WAS SO LOW THAT I BARELY MADE IT THE BLOCK HOME. I PARKED AND CALLED HONDA SERVICE. WHE I FOUND OUT THAT SINCE MY CAR HAD 47,000 MILES ON IT AND HONDA TOWING WOULD COST $160, I HAD THE CAR TOWED BY A LOCAL SERVICE FOR $100 TO THE DEALER. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY (IT HAPPENED ON A FRIDAY OR SATURDAY), THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE MECHANICS COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM BY STARTING THE CAR. NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO DRIVE IT. THE COMPANY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS CORROSION BETWEEN THE ENGINE WIRE HARNESS AND THE SENSOR CONNECTOR. THE PARTS TO REPLACE WERE THE CRANK SENSOR CONNECTOR, THE O RING, AND INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET. THIS COST $1002.

EXCESSIVE VIBRATION THROUGHOUT CABIN. HONDA SERVICE RECOMMENDED AND APPLIED THE MOD 1 REPAIR. THIS HAS ONLY MOVED THE VIBRATION AROUND IN THE VEHICLE. NOW THE VIBRATION IS MUCH MORE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE REAR SEAT. A MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE VIBRATION HAS NOW SHOWN UP AT SPEEDS AROUND 70 MPH - THOUGH THIS VIBRATION IS MUCH MORE INTERMITTENT. THE VIBRATION HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 4 MILES ON IT IN JULY OF 2015. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER INITIALLY AND THEY SUGGESTED RUNNING THE AIR CONDITIONING OR AN ACCESSORY TO MINIMIZE THE PROBLEM. HONDA WAS WORKING ON A FIX. STILL WAITING FOR THE FIX AND ALSO WONDERING WHAT SERIOUS PROBLEMS THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE DOWN THE ROAD.

SIGNIFICANT VIBRATION WHEN I AM AT A STOP AND FOOT ON BRAKE OR JUST ABOUT TO DRIVE OFF. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. SIGNIFICANT VIBRATION OF THE FRONT SEAT WHEN NO ONE IS SITTING IN IT. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN I AM AT A STOP BUT IT CONTINUES EVEN WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO REACH OVER AND HOLD ON TO THE SEAT TO GET RIDE OF THE NOISE AND VIBRATION. WINDOWS AND REAR WINDOW SEEM TO HAVE A FOG OR CLOUDINESS IN THEM NO MATTER THE STATE OF THE DEFROST, WEATHER OR HOW MUCH I CLEAN THEM. NO CLEAR VISION OUT THE WINDOW. HAVE SEEN THE SAME ISSUE IN HONDA ODYSSEY AS WELL.

CAR HAS BEEN STALLING IN MOTION (ESPECIALLY IN AREAS OF HIGHER SPEED) AND THE CAR HAS BEEN NOT STARTING UP. WE HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERSTATES WHEN THE CAR HAS GONE FROM 60 MPH TO STOP ALL AT ONCE...ALMOST KILLING US. IN REGARDS TO THE START UP ISSUE, THE LIGHTS COME ON BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT. THE BATTERY WAS JUST REPLACED AND THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT FIX THESE SAFETY ISSUES. IN FACT, THE MANAGING PARTNER TELLS HIS STAFF TO IGNORE OUR COMMUNICATION ATTEMPTS AND WILL NOT RETURN OUR CALLS HIMSELF. THE SERVICE MANAGER REFUSED TO FIX ANYTHING BECAUSE HE SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AFTER DRIVING IT AROUND THE DEALERSHIP PARKING LOT ONCE. VIBRATION: IN DECEMBER OF 2014, WE PURCHASED A BRAND NEW HONDA CRV 2015 MODEL FROM TOM WOOD HONDA IN ANDERSON, INDIANA. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, (AT AROUND 5,000 MILES DRIVEN ON THE VEHICLE), WE NOTICED THAT; THE VEHICLE VIBRATED WHEN STOPPED (SAY AT A STOP LIGHT) WHEN THE CAR WAS IN 'DRIVE'. THE VIBRATION WAS NOT DETECTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND IN 'PARK'. THE VIBRATION AT THIS TIME WAS SLIGHT AND ONLY A LITTLE DISTURBING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PENSKE HONDA (ON THE NORTH SIDE OF INDIANAPOLIS) AT AROUND 28,000 MILES OR SO, WHERE A '16-053 CRV UPDATE' WAS APPLIED. THE VIBRATION PROBLEM WAS MADE MUCH WORSE, NOT BETTER. IMMEDIATELY AFTER DRIVING THE CAR OFF OF PENSKE'S LOT, IT VIBRATED SO BADLY THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY DISTURBING. FOLLOW A FEW FRUSTRATING CONVERSATIONS WITH PENSKE HONDA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FISHER'S HONDA. FISHER'S HONDA PERFORMED UPDATE 15-046 FOR VIBRATION AT IDLE, WHICH AMELIORATED THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STILL VIBRATES QUITE NOTICEABLY WHEN ENGAGED IN DRIVE AND STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE. THE IDLE SPEED DROPS TO AROUND 550 RPM WHEN STOPPED AND IN DRIVE. THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES IN THE DRIVER'S HANDS. IN MY OPINION, NO ONE WOULD BUY A NEW OR EVEN USED CAR WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T. WE TOOK THE 2015 HONDA CRV TO TOM WOOD HONDA. ONE OF THEIR TOP TECHNICIANS DROVE THE CAR WITH US IN IT. HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM, BUT STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MORE HE COULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAN WHAT HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE, AND THAT THE PROBLEM HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN PAIRING. SINCE THAT TIME, THE VIBRATION PHENOMENON WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND ENGAGED IN DRIVE HAS WORSENED. WHILE DRIVING AT 80 MPH ON A HIGHWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED AND THE VEHICLE DECREASED IN SPEED TO 50 MPH ON ITS OWN, ALTHOUGH I NEVER REMOVED PRESSURE FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I SPENT TIME LOOKING UP RECALLS AND FOUND YOUR LETTER NVS-215SM TO HONDA DEALERS DATED 03/9/2015 WHICH DENOTES THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD - "LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WHILE IN MOTION." THE PROBLEM IS BACK, THE VIBRATION GETS VERY ANNOYING AND I AM AFRAID THAT WITH TIME SAFETY WILL BE AN ISSUE. THE GOVERMENT SHOULD ACT IN A PROACTIVE WAY BEFORE DEATHS START HAPPENING . WHEN AT A STOP AFTER ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS THE ENGINE GETS A ROUGH IDLE ALMOST LIKE YOU THINK AT FIRST IT'S GOING TO DIE, BUT IT DOESN'T IT'S JUST ANNOYING. HOWEVER, HERE IS A REAL PROBLEM. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, OR AFTER PULLING OUT, CHANGING LANES (REALLY NO SET PATTERN) THE ENGINE (AND ACCELERATION) ARE GONE. IT'S LIKE YOU JUST ARE WITHOUT GO POWER. FINALLY IT CATCHES UP BUT IF YOU HAVE THIS HAPPEN AT THE WRONG TIME IT COULD BE BAD. I HAVE CHANGED LANES AND HAD PLENTY OF SPACE BUT IF YOUR CR-V HAPPENS TO DO THIS IN THE PROCESS THE CLOSING RATE IS MAJOR. THE CAR BEHIND YOU IS ON YOUR BUMPER AND FAST BECAUSE IT'S LIKE YOU JUST STOP ACCELERATING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NORMAL STREETS, PULLING AWAY FROM STOP SIGN AND GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. HONDA CR-V 2015 VIBRATION . LAST YEAR I PURCHASED A 2015 HONDA CR-V AND AS WITH MOST OTHER OWNERS, IT HAS A BAD VIBRATION ISSUE WHILE AT A STOP IN DRIVE MODE WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKES. I ALSO VIBRATES AT LOW SPEEDS BETWEEN 40 -50 MPH AND AROUND 70 MPH. I HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES BUT STILL VIBRATES WHILE STOPPED IN THE DRIVE MODE (IN GEAR WITH FOOT ON BRAKE). I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA CORP AND THEY SAID EVEN WITH THE 4 SUGGESTED REPAIRS WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN PREFORMED ON MY CAR BY THE LOCAL HONDA SERVICE CENTER, THIS WILL NOT STOP THE VIBRATION ISSUE AND THAT HONDA HAS NO OTHER KNOWN FIX TO STOP THE VIBRATION ISSUE AND THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE CAR. THE LOCAL HONDA SERVICE CENTER VERBALLY ACKNOWLEDGES THE VIBRATION ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO PUT IT ON THE SERVICE REPORT THAT THERE IS STILL A VIBRATION ISSUE. I SEE ALL THE POST FROM OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS A DISTRACTION AND I CONSIDER IT A SAFETY ISSUE AS ONE, TIME WHILE I WAS SETTING AT A RED LIGHT, IT STARTED VIBRATING AND WHILE I WAS DISTRACTED BY THE SEAT AND CAR VIBRATING, THE TRUCK BEHIND ME BLEW HIS LOUD HORN AND I ALMOST RAN THE RED LIGHT THAT HAD CHANGED WHILE I WAS DISTRACTED. I KNOW THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT BUT I DO NOT KNOW THE STATUS OF IT. THEY HAD TO KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM PRIOR TO SENDING THE 2015 HONDA CR-V TO THE DEALERS, BUT NOBODY INFORMED THE BUYERS OF THIS ISSUE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING AT BOTH LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN THREE TIMES, BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THE CONDITION. THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE NEWLY DESIGNED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION/POWER TRAIN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CONDITION CONTINUED TO PROGRESS WITH NO SOLUTION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NAUSEOUS FREQUENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE VIBRATED AND SHOOK. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO PERMANENT REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WE PURCHASED A NEW HONDA CRV 2015 DECEMBER OF 2015. THE SAME WEEK WE TOOK THE CAR HOME, WE NOTICED A VERY STRONG VIBRATION AT IDLE WHEN THE CAR IS IN GEAR, FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. THE VIBRATION IS SO STRONG THAT IT FEELS AS IF ONE IS SITTING IN A 'MASSAGING CHAIR'. WE (MY WIFE AND I) HAVE GOTTEN DIZZY AND NAUSEATED FROM THE VIBRATION. WE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP AND AMERICAN HONDA IMMEDIATELY. SINCE THEN, THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE CAR 5 TIMES AND WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. I THEN REQUESTED THEM TO BUY THE CAR BACK AND THEY DENIED IT. THEY EVEN SAID THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPAIR MY CAR ANYMORE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE LAST TIME I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS SATURDAY FEBRUARY, 13 2016. IN THE REPAIR ORDER, THE DEALERSHIP CLEARLY STATES THAT THE VIBRATION WAS PRESENT AFTER THE REPAIR.

VIRBRATION. STEERING PULLS LEFT.THE CAR HAS SERIOUS VIBRATION AT IDLE, @600 RPM, 1200 RPM, 1800 RPM AND 2200+ RPM. THIS VIBRATION TRANSMITS THROUGH SEAT, STEERING COLUMN, FLOOR AND PEDALS. BACK PAIN IS INDUCED WITHIN JUST A FEW MILES OF DRIVING. FEET GET PINS AND NEEDLES AND GO NUMB AS WELL AS HANDS AND ARMS FATIGUE QUICKLY. DRIVING IS LIMITED IN RANGE AS A RESULT. DEALER ATTEMPTED 4 REPAIRS INCLUDING REPROGRAMMING, REMOUNTING RADIATOR AND MODIFYING ENGINE. VIBRATION WAS DAMPENED IN THE SEAT ONLY AT LOWER RPMS. MPG DECREASED FROM 33 MPG TO 28 MPG. CAR PULLS STRONGLY TO THE LEFT. HAVING ONE HAND ON THE WHEEL (E.G. REACHING FOR A.C.) IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO KEEP IT IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THIS HAS CAUSED MANY NEAR MISSES ON TWO LANE ROADS AND NOW I JUST DON'T ADJUST A.C. UNLESS I HAVE TO (FOGGY WINDOW ETC.) I TAKE I95 AND THIS CAUSES PROBLEMS ON RAMPS. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS ALL RELATED TO THE CV TRANSMISSION, AND IT TAKES GETTING USED TO, BUT I HAD NISSANS WITH CV TRANSMISSIONS. FOR YEARS. I HAVE REPAIR DOCUMENTATION BUT AM UNABLE TO UPLOAD IT AT THIS TIME. PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU NEED THEM. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY UPON DISCOVERING THE PROBLEM (WITHIN 48 HOURS OF PURCHASE) AND THEY TOOK NO ACTION OR ATTEMPTED REPAIR UNTIL I HAD CONTACTED THEM REPEATEDLY.

MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED THE 2015 CR-V EX-L AWD ON JANUARY 5 2016 AT STATEN ISLAND HONDA. AFTER ONLY 11 DAYS AND 300 MILES ON VEHICLE AS WE WERE DRIVING FOR A SKI VACATION I NOTICED A CRACKLING NOISE WHEN I WOULD TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION. I THEN NOTICED THAT NONE OF THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS WORKED OR THE RADIO. IN ADDITION TO THIS MY HORN DIDNT WORK AND MY BLUETOOTH WOULD CONSTANTLY SAY (HTC IS OK ) BOTH MY RADIO INTERFACE SCREENS WOULD ALWAYS FLASH DIFFERENT MAINTENANCE MALFUNCTIONS. MY CELLPHONE WOULD ALSO RANDOMLY CONNECT AND MAKE CALLS. THEN AS I WAS DRIVING TO GET GAS OFF THE NJ TURNPIKE MY HORN STARTED TO GO OFF NON STOP AND I HAD TO PULL THE HORN FUSE OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I ALSO NOTICED A VERY STRONG VIBRATION WHEN VEHICLE IS IDLE AND STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AND NOW SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE . OUR VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FROM JANUARY 19-21 AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THEY REPLACED THE FUSES AND THE CABLE REEL AND SAID THE VIBRATION WAS NORMAL. I DID SOME FURTHER RESEARCH AND THERE IS A LAWSUIT AGAINST HONDA IN REGARDS TO THE 2015 CR-V VIBRATION ISSUE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND FEEL THAT I WAS SOLD A $30K LEMON . I HAVE OWNED HONDAS IN THE PAST WITH NO ISSUES BUT AFTER THIS EXPERIENCE AND HONDA BEING AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND STILL SOLD THESE TRUCKS THE COMPANY HAS LOST MY TRUST. WHEN GOING THROUGH MY DOCUMENTS I NOTICED THAT I WAS MISSING ALOT OF PAPERWORK FROM MY SALES CONTRACT AND I BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE. AT FIRST HE SAID HE GAVE US EVERYTHING AND THEN REALIZED HE DIDNT BUT DIDNT HAVE ACCESS TO THE FILE ROOM TO GIVE US THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS. HE STATED HE WOULD GET BACK TO US AND NEVER DID. SO IN ALL I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GOING TO STATEN ISLAND HONDA DUE TO THEIR INCOMPETENT SALES STAFF AND I HOPE HONDA RESOLVES ALL OF THESE ISSUES.

UNFORTUNATELY HONDA OF AMERICA WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW AND THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE SOLD. IT VIBRATED AT A STOP VERY BAD THEN IT FEELS LIKE YOU HAVE STUDDED SNOW TIRES ON AT 40 TO 50 MILES AN HOUR WHICH THEY CLAIM IS A SOFTWARE FIX THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT IN CALIFORNIA AGAINST HONDA FOR THESE PROBLEMS.

WHEN I EXPRESSED CONCERN WITH THE RESULTS OF ALL OF THE ENGINE FLUIDS BEING SHARED THROUGH OUT THE ENGINE AND FEELING UNCOMFORTABLE WITH ONLY FIXING 3/4 OF THE ENGINE. I CONTACTED AMERICAN HONDA. THEY DIDN'T CARE THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED. THAT THE CAR WAS NOT PULLED AND FIXED WHEN THEY ISSUED THE RECALL. AMERICAN HONDA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. TOOK THE CAR BACK WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF PURCHASE AT WHICH TIME I WAS TOLD THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THAT THERE IS NO SOLUATION AT THIS TIME. THEY REFUSSED TO REPLACE MY BRAND NEW HONDA CRV 2015 WITH A TROUBLE FEE CAR. AND TO THIS DATE (7 MONTHS LATER) THEY STILL HAVE NO SOLUATION. PURCHASED THE 2015 CRV IN FEBRUARY 2015. APPROXIMATELY A WEEK AFTER MAKING THE PURCHASE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN EXTENSIVELY VIBRATING WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, WITH THE VEHICLE ENGAGED IN THE DRIVE POSITION AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED. I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE RPM'S DROPPED BELOW 600. THE VIBRATION IS FELT IN BOTH THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SEATS, BUT MORESO IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. IT FEELS AS THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS GOING TO STALL OUT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AS I HAVE THE CONSTANT FEAR THAT IT IS GOING TO STALL OUT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER ON FOUR OCCASIONS, BUT THEY STATE THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM SO THEY HAVE BEEN OF NO HELP. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2015 HONDA CR-V EX FWD A MONTH AGO. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS LITTLE OVER 600 MILES, I STARTED FEELING A SEVERE VIBRATION INTERMITTENTLY AT IDLE IN DRIVE MODE WHEN I STOP AT STOP SIGNS. THE FREQUENCY AND SEVERITY INCREASED NOW WHEN IT IS ABOUT 1000 MILES. JUST TO CHECK ITS SEVERITY I PLACED AN EMPTY PLASTIC BAG ON THE PASSENGER SEAT AND I COULD HERE THE NOISE MADE BY THE BAG DUE TO VIBRATION. IT WAS AS IF LIKE MASSAGING ON MY BACK AND BACK OF HEAD. WHEN I REPORTED IT TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY CHECKED AND TOLD ME THAT ITS A KNOW ISSUE WITH ALL 2015 MODELS AND NO FIX HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA ALSO AS PER THEIR SUGGESTION AND THEY ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THIS ISSUE BUT SAID NO FIX IS AVAILABLE. I'M WONDERING IF THERE IS ANY BODY THAT ACTUALLY REGULATES AUTO MAKERS TO NOT SELL VEHICLES HAVING ISSUES. THE 2015 HONDA CR-V HAS A PROBLEM WITH A VIBRATION WHILE THE CAR IS STOPPED IDLE AND IN DRIVE AT SLOW SPEEDS THE IDLING OCCURS AT EVERY STOP LIGHT, AND IN HEAVY HIGHWAY BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC. THE VIBRATIONS ARE EXPERIENCED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEATS AND CENTER CONSOLE. DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS EXPERIENCE MOTION SICKNESS INCLUDING HEADACHES, NAUSEA. ANY NEW PASSENGER IN MY VEHICLE IS STARTLED BY THE VIBRATIONS. EVERY NEW PASSENGER COMMENTS ABOUT THE STARTLING VIBRATIONS. SOME PASSENGERS EVEN SCREAM DUE TO THE STARTLING VIBRATIONS. ALL OF THIS IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER WHO IS TRYING TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE TRAFFIC. THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT IS HESITATING AND WILL STALL WHEN THE GAS PETAL IS DEPRESSED. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED YET, BUT THE ISSUE IS GETTING WORSE NOT BETTER. HONDA ADMITS TO THIS ISSUE, BUT OFFERS NO RESOLUTION AND CALLS THIS MERELY AN ANNOYANCE. THIS ISSUE IS GETTING WORSE AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF THE ISSUE IS THE MOTOR, TRANSMISSION, OR FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM. IT COULD BE ANY OF THOSE SYSTEMS. THE ATTEMPT TO MAKE THE CR-V MORE FUEL EFFICIENT BY USING THE HONDA ACCORD'S ENGINE HAS BEEN A FAILURE AND RESULTED IN A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CARS.

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW CR-V EX-L BASED ON EXCELLENT REVIEWS FROM CONSUMER REPORTS AND EDMUNDS. I EXPECTED THE CAR TO BE PERFECT. HOWEVER, HONDA SOLD ME THE DEFECTED CAR WITHOUT ANY NOTICE EVEN THIS DEFECT WAS KNOWN FOR MONTHS. THE ISSUE IS A VIBRATION DURING IDLE. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN I STOP ON THE TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE PASSENGER SEAT STARTS TO SHAKE. IF I RELEASE BREAKS VIBRATIONS WILL GO AWAY. IT IS NOT NORMAL. I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM 2 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE (OR 600-700 MILES). THEN I WENT TO THE DEALER AND HE TOLD ME THAT HONDA'S ENGINEERS WERE "WORKING ON IT", NO SOLUTION WAS FOUND YET AND I HAD TO WAIT FOR A FURTHER NOTICE. VISIBLE VIBRATIONS MEAN THAT THERE IS MECHANICAL RESONANCE IN THE CAR. AN EXAMPLE OF DESTRUCTION DUE TO MECHANICAL RESONANCE WOULD BE A COLLAPSE OF TACOMA NARROWS BRIDGE. THUS, MY SAFETY CONCERN IS THAT THE CAR CAN BE DAMAGED STRUCTURALLY. FOR EXAMPLE, FEW BOLTS MAY COME LOOSE AND THE CAR MAY DISINTEGRATE DURING THE DRIVE. THE PROBLEM COULD BE THAT A NEWLY INTRODUCED CVT TRANSMISSION IN HONDA CR-V 2015 DOESN'T GO ALONG WITH THE ENGINE AND THEY PRODUCE EXCESSIVE VIBRATIONS THAT SPREAD THRU A CAR FRAME TO THE SEAT. BOTH THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEATS VIBRATE AS WELL AS THE STEERING WHEEL. THE VIBRATING PROBLEM CONTINUES TO THIS DAY. I AM HOPING THIS WILL NOT BE A SAFETY ISSUE. VIBRATIONS AND RUMBLES WHEN IN DRIVE WHILE AT STOPS WITH FOOT ON BRAKES. IT'S GETTING WORSE. INITIAL VISIT AT THE HONDA DEALER, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. THE SECOND TIME AT A DEALER THEY SAID AN ENGINE UPDATE WAS NEEDED AND SHOULD STOP IT. WELL IT GOT WORSE, SO I TOOK IT BACK AND THE VIBRATION AND RUMBLE WAS DUPLICATED BUT HONDA DOESN'T HAVE A FIX. ROUGH IDLES AT STOPS AND LOW SPEEDS CAN CAUSE A STRAIN ON THE ENGINE AND EVENTUALLY ENGINE FAILURE. THE VIBRATION IS SO BAD THAT IT SENDS WAVES THRU MY FOOT WHEN IT'S ON THE BRAKES AND THE VIBRATION IS FELT THROUGH OUT MY BODY. THE FRONT AND BACK SEATS VIBRATES UNTIL MY 9 YEAR OLD THINKS THAT WE'RE GETTING A BUTT MASSAGE. THIS IS REALLY SAD AND AN UNFORTUNATE LOSS OF A LOYAL CUSTOMERS TRUST IN HONDA SINCE 1990.

HONDA SERVICE SAYS THAT THERE IS NO KNOWN FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND DEALER REFUSES TO PROVIDE A REFUND.

WE WERE NEVER TOLD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WHILE BUYING THE CAR. WE CONSIDER THIS AS FRAUDULENT PRACTICE. I AM REQUESTING DOT TO PLEASE HELP US ASK HONDA TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. EITHER THE REMOTE STARTER SHOULD BE REINSTALLED OR ANOTHER STARTER SHOULD BE INSTALLED WHICH WORKS CORRECTLY. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS VEHICLE AND IF THERE CAN'T BE A RESOLUTION THEN I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER ONE. I LEASED A HONDA 2015 CRV AND STARTED NOTICING NAUSEATING VIBRATION WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS. WHEN THE CAR'S RPM HIT UNDER 1000 THE VIBRATION IN THE CAR GETS CONTINUALLY WORSE. WHEN RPM HIT 500 THE CAR VIBRATES SO MUCH IT CAUSES DRIVER AND PASSENGER TO VISIBLY SHAKE. THIS OCCURS EVER TIME THE CAR HITS 500 RPM, WHICH FOR ME OCCURS AT LEAST 7 TIMES EACH WAY OF MY DAILY WORK COMMUTE . YOU WILL FEEL THIS SHAKING FROM YOU BACK TO YOUR SHOULDERS WHEN YOU ARE IN THE SEAT. HAVE TAKEN IT TO TWO DEALERSHIPS BOTH WHICH COULD/WOULD NOT FIX THE ISSUE. WAS TOLD IT A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR WHICH IS BS. MADE A COMPLAINT TO HONDA OF AMERICA WHICH HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL. THIS WAS MY FAMILY'S FOURTH HONDA BRAND CAR AND WILL BE ARE LAST. ADDITIONALLY THE CAR VIBRATES AND FEELS AS IF MIGHT DIE WHEN SLOWING DOWN AT A STOP LIGHT. THE SAME THING THAT A MANUAL MIGHT DO IF LEFT IN GEAR WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. YOU HAVE TO DRIVE THE SUV FOR ABOUT 15-30 MINUTES IN ORDER FOR YOU TO FEEL THE VIBRATION. AS MENTIONED ITS VERY BAD &ITS NAUSEATING AND DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER. I HAVE RECORDED MY DAILY DRIVE TO WORK AND THE VIBRATION IS DOCUMENTED WHEN AT IDLE. HONDA NEW ABOUT THIS VIBRATION SINCE NOVEMBER OF LAST YEAR. THE VIBRATION IS A SAFETY CONCERN OF US SINCE AS I MENTIONED IT IS DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER AND ITS VERY NAUSEATING. SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2015 CR-V I NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THE RPMS WERE BETWEEN 1,000 - 1,200 AND MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS. THE VIBRATION DISAPPEARED WHEN I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE GAS. I ALSO NOTICED AN INCREASE IN THE RPMS TO 3,000 WHEN GOING DOWNHILL WITH MY FOOT OFF OR ON THE BRAKE AND A LOUD HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CAR DOES VIBRATE WHEN IDLING AT A RED LIGHT BUT NOT ENOUGH TO CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS YET. I ONLY HAVE 1,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND WAS ALSO TOLD BY MY HONDA DEALERSHIP THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND DOESN'T HAVE A FIX YET. I HAVE OWNED HONDAS SINCE 1986 (ACCORDS) AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS LIKE THE ONES ON THE CR-V. I AM BEGINNING TO REGRET BUYING THIS VEHICLE AND AGREE THAT HONDA SHOULD DEFINITELY COMPENSATE CR-V OWNERS ASAP. THE FULL STALL WAS A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE HOWEVER THE VEHICLE OFTEN APPROACHES A STALL WHILE STOPPED WITH THE BRAKE . THE VIBRATION HAS BEEN PRESENT SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER 2014. WHEN I TOOK IT TO GERMAINE HONDA, THE SELLING DEALERSHIP, IN ANN ARBOR, I WAS TOLD THAT THE VIBRATION IS A "CHARACTERISTIC" OF THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS LIKE A FLIMSY EXCUSE AND QUITE FRANKLY PROBLEM IS BEGINNING TO WORRY ME. THE STALL WAS SERIOUS AND IN TRAFFIC. THE VIBRATION IS VERY PRONOUNCED AND TRAVELS THROUGHOUT THE CHASSIS. SHORTLY AFTER I BOUGHT MY 2015 CRV TOURING I NOTICED SEVERE SHAKING WHILE IDLING. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE FOR A 4 CYLINDER VEHICLE AND SINCE I HAD TRADED IN A V8 I WAS JUST NOT USED TO IT. I TOOK HIS WORD FOR IT AND HAVE UNFORTUNATELY BECOME ACCUSTOM TO IT BUT IN THE LAST MONTH IT HAS GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. TOOK IT IN TO HONDA SERVICE AND THEY SAID IT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE AND THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND AT THAT TIME NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT SUBMIT IT TO HONDA ENGINEERING . I AM AFRAID THAT THIS WILL CAUSE A MAJOR ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN THE FUTURE IF IT IS NOT ADDRESSED. I AM NOT SURE HOW THIS COULD BE A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION BECAUSE I HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WHO OWNS A 2014 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE SAME CVT AND POWERTRAIN AND THE ISSUE DOES NOT EXIST. THERE IS VERY NOTICEABLE VIBRATIONS WHEN VEHICLE STOPS AT STOP LIGHT. IF VEHICLE IS 'D' AND 0 SPEED IT VIBRATES AND RPM NEEDLE IS NOT SABLE. ALSO, VIBRATIONS ARE AT 60 AND HIGHER SPEED. AFTER TEN DAYS OF OWNING THIS CAR TODAY IS THE FIRST TIME THAT EXPERIENCED ENGINE VIBRATION AT IDLE WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT. THE VIBRATION IS FELT THROUGH THE CABIN AND THE DRIVER SEAT. BRAND NEW VEHICLE ON THE THIRD TRIP FROM HOME. THE HESITATION/VIBRATION PROBLEM IS NOTICEABLE (INTERMITTENT SHUDDERING AS IF A WHEEL IS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND/OR THE VEHICLE HAS JUST HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE, BUT RELATED TO THE NEWLY DESIGNED CRV TRANSMISSION, A PROBLEM COMMON TO ALL CRV 2015 THAT DOES NOT YET HAVE A FIX) BUT WHAT REALLY STUNNED ME WAS A SUDDEN EXTREMELY HIGH REV WHEN GOING DOWN A SMALL HILL. I WAS BRAKING LIGHTLY AT THE TIME. (SERVICE TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS ON HILLS, SO, USING THE BRAKE CAUSED THIS. ??!!) IT DIDN'T LAST LONG, BUT THE ENGINE RACED SO COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT FEEL SAFE, AND ONE HAD THE SENSE THAT MOTION HAD SEIZED UP, ALTHOUGH IT KEPT MOVING. THE NOISE WAS INCREDIBLE. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN FOR A WHILE, AND I ASSUMED IT WAS DUE TO USING THE BRAKE ON A HILL (!!??). I STOPPED USING THE BRAKE ON HILLS AND NOTICED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DIDN'T ALWAYS DOWNSHIFT, SOMETIMES IT SHIFTED UP AS THE VEHICLE GAINED SPEED! WHAT TO DO... I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN TO SERVICE ABOUT THE VIBRATION ISSUE, ON THE 28TH JAN, AND WAS TOLD THAT ALL CRV 2015 HAVE THIS ISSUE AND THERE'S NO FIX YET. I LEFT CHEERFULLY ENOUGH, AND DRIVING HOME, THE SURGE/REV HAPPENED AGAIN, GOING UP A HILL, WITH NO USE OF THE BRAKE. I CALLED MY SALESMAN, AND THE NEXT MORNING RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED FOR MY MONEY BACK, BECAUSE THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. MY 2015 HONDA CRV TOURING HAD SURGED DURING INITIAL START THE PAST FEW DAYS. I THOUGHT MY FOOT HIT BOTH BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR DURING START UP. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY. I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND BACKED OUT OF THE GARAGE WHEN THE SURGING STOPPED. I SHUT THE CAR DOWN AND WAITED FOR MY SPOUSE TO ARRIVE. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN IT SURGED TO 4000 RPM THEN STOPPED. I SHUT THE CAR DOWN WONDERING WHAT WAS GOING ON. I AGAIN STARTED THE CAR TO PUT IT BACK INTO THE GARAGE RPMS NORMAL, SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE CAR LEAPED FORWARD A COUPLE OF FEET BEFORE I COULD STOP IT AND PUT IT IN PARK. THERE ARE SEVERAL ONGOING PROBLEMS CAUSED BY DEFECTS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE IS A VIBRATION WHEN THE CAR IS IN "DRIVE" AND COMPLETELY STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION. THE RPM'S DROP, SOMETIMES AS LOW AS 550 WHICH CAUSES A VIBRATION AS IF THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO STALL. THE LOWER THE RPM'S, THE WORSE THE VIBRATION. ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS I HAVE HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AT A STOP LIGHT BECAUSE THE RPMS DROPPED SO LOW. THERE IS ANOTHER VIBRATION OR SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN 1800 AND 2000 RPMS WHEN ACCELERATING. SOMETIMES I SMELL GASOLINE IN MY CAR SHORTLY AFTER IGNITION. SOMETIMES FOLLOWING DECELERATION, THE CVT TRANSMISSION CANNOT CATCH UP, AND WHEN I NEED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, I PUT THE "PEDAL TO THE METAL;" BUT THE CAR IS BARELY ACCELERATING AND NOT THRUSTING FORWARD LIKE IT SHOULD. THIS OCCURRED ON A HIGHWAY MERGE AT I-83 AND I-695 ON DECEMBER 19, 2014 (A TRICKY AND DANGEROUS MERGE AREA). TWICE SINCE 1/1/15 I HAVE HEARD A FRIGHTENING ENGINE NOISE WHEN DECELERATING ON A WINDY DOWNHILL ROAD. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE A SMALL PLANE IS OVERHEAD, AND I WAS SHOCKED THE CAR WS STILL RUNNING, AS I WAS LOOKING FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR SOME INDICATION WHAT WAS WRONG. IT IS NOT A NORMAL ENGINE NOISE. HONDA IS AWARE OF THE VIBRATIONS WHEN STOPPED AND AT 1800-2000 RPMS AND DOES NOT KNOW IF/WHEN A FIX MAY BE AVAILABLE. I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER WITH THIS ISSUE - THERE ARE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE VARIOUS REVIEW BOARDS, AND HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED IT IS WIDESPREAD. HONDA WILL NOT PROVIDE THEIR POSITION TO ME IN WRITING WHEN ASKED. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE OTHER PROBLEMS WHICH ARE MORE INTERMITTENT, AND IT WILL BE BACK AT THE DEALER NEXT WEEK TO ADDRESS THE FRIGHTENING ENGINE NOISE AND DOCUMENT THAT PROBLEM.
