The contact stated that while making a turn from a complete stop, the vehicle temporarily stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact attempted to contact the local dealer several times, but the dealer was unreachable. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. While driving at normal speed, the vehicle suddenly began to shudder and produce unusual mechanical noise. Within seconds, the car lost all ability to accelerate despite pressing the gas pedal. The vehicle lost power in live traffic and had to be coasted to the side of the road. There were no warning lights, no error codes, and no fluid leaks. This was a sudden, dangerous failure. A family member who is a new driver was operating the vehicle at the time, with passengers on board. This created a serious safety risk to both my family and surrounding drivers. The situation could have resulted in a serious accident if it had occurred on a highway instead of a city street. The problem was diagnosed by a trusted independent repair shop as a complete internal failure of the CVT transmission. They confirmed the component failure occurred without any external damage or signs of neglect. The transmission had to be replaced at significant cost. The component has not been inspected by Honda. However, I have dashcam video showing the moment of failure, including the vehicle shuddering, power loss, and driver reaction. The video clearly shows the dangerous nature of the incident and is available for inspection upon request. To my knowledge, this is a known issue affecting this generation of Honda CR-Vs with CVT transmissions. Honda refused reimbursement assistance despite full documentation, citing the vehicle being out of warranty — even though this is the type of premature mechanical failure their Goodwill Assistance policy is supposed to address. No warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms appeared before the failure.
While driving on highway at 70 mph on cruise control, the transmission went out of gear causing the engine to rev and the vehicle to slow. Pulled over to side of road, turned off engine, turned it back on and could not get transmission to go into any gear. Had to be towed

I was driving 55 miles an hour on a country road and a transmission completely disengage from the engine. There were no warning signs or messages on dashboard at all about any kind of transmission issue
For a few years now, my 2015 CRV EX has made whinning sounds when driving. At stoplights/stop signs when the vehicle was not in motion, it would shake violently at times. As time has progressed (approx 114000 miles), there is now a grinding and clicking noise that worsens when accelerating. Even in park, the grinding noise has become more noticeable. When going downhill, the gears do not want to change as they should because once I am on level ground, the RPM decreases but does not when car is in motion downhill. At times, my CRV jerks when the transmission finally changes gears. A more noticeable whine/whistling can be heard constantly when my vehicle is in motion. At stop signs/lights, the grinding has become more audible and it shakes to the point of embarrassment. There is a click noise when I start it to let it warm up. As each day passes the symptoms get worse. Additionally, the battery in the 2015 Honda CRV EX must have a bad electrical flaw. I have had consistent battery drainage issues shortly after purchasing it new in 2015. I have had batteries replaced several times. Now, to insure my vehicle will start in the mornings, I have had to disengage the battery terminals overnight and each time I get out of my vehicle. This problem existed basically since I purchased it. There are some serious flaws with this vehicle, and the way it shakes at time along with the straining, clicking, and grinding transmission sounds that something may malfunction and cause me to have an accident while the vehicle is in motion. I have researched where other 2015 Honda CRV EX owners have had the same issues. There is a problem, and these issues need to be addressed to protect drivers and their passengers. As of today, I will never own another Honda. As a driver of the vehicle, when you feel unsafe traveling or wake up to a dead battery that has been drained overnight, the issue should be addressed and cconsumers' concerns should be seriously considered.
Differential problem, converter torque locked up transmission and froze engine. No engine light or warnings were given, this happened in the middle of rush hour traffic where I could have been rear ended from sudden engine failure and was very dangerous for me to exit my vehicle for help. I had the vehicle repaired at Lithia Honda Medford oregon.

Vehicle stalls when in reverse and backing up after it has sat for a period of time, sometimes as little as 16 hours. While backing up, the vehicle stalls and shuts off.
While traveling approximately 65 mph on a heavily traveled, two-laned interstate portion with minimal emergency lane access, my vehicle suddenly lost all power: first slowing down and struggling for power around 40 mph, then, completely shutting down and losing all power leaving the vehicle completely without any power and minimal control to exit the roadway or move to a safer location. I managed to coast and pull my vehicle over to the side of the interstate just after a busy cloverleaf on-ramp and on an overpass and call for assistance from the State Highway Patrol who in turn called for a tow truck. On-ramp traffic was unable to move over to the left lane as they were on-coming and merging with existing interstate traffic, coming dangerously close to myself and the State Trooper at times. So much so, I truly feared for my safety and the safety of the trooper. Also, because of the location, I was unable to get out of my car and stand to the side out of harm's way. The vehicle was diagnosed at the Honda Dealership in Tucson as a "complete transmission failure" and would have to be replaced with a new transmission for approximately $6,000.
I was driving on an expressway on July 25, 2022 and my car stopped accelerating at a speed of 70mph. The RPMs would move but there was no acceleration and the speedometer wouldn’t go above zero. After pulling over I had to have the car towed. The dealer indicated that the transmission was damaged due to lack of transmission fluid. My safety and the safety of my son were compromised as I was driving on a busy expressway and the transmission just stopped working with no warning. There were no warnings that transmission fluid was low (yet I get warnings for things like tire pressure and oil?). I regularly have this vehicle serviced so I feel like this is some defect and do not understand how this could happen with no warning. The car is still being repaired so I do not know if the parts are still available.

This vehicle shakes pretty badly at idle. We took it to Honda for repairs, there is no recall for this but they did have a service bulletin for the issue. They replaced the headrest and two mounts, one was for the transmission and the other I think was for the condenser unit and recalibrated the idle. The car did improve although the shaking was still there at idle. This was done in October and in the last two weeks the problem has gotten worse then when we first took it to Honda. The car shakes very badly and doesn't feel safe for my kids. I have resorted to putting the vehicle in Neutral at stop lights which helps.
Purchased used at 64,000 miles. Second day of ownership/operation vehicle began stalling while in operation on the road. This happened when coming to a stop, when accelerating from a stop and while at high speeds on the highway. I am not sure if th problem is caused by drivetrain, fuel delivery, engine, or electrical issues.

THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO REV HIGH AND WHINE LOUDLY UNTIL I REACH THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL WHEN IT FINALLY UPSHIFTS AND WORKS CORRECTLY. THE ENGINE IS WORKING TOO HARD TO MAINTAIN A SLOW SPEED DURING THE DESCENT. CAN THE TRANSMISSION BE ADJUSTED SO IT DOESN'T DOWNSHIFT AND HOLD THE VEHICLE BACK? OR IS THIS A DEFECT WITH THIS TRANSMISSION THAT WILL BE COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY? IF SO, HOW CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION INSTALLED?

DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON STRAIGHT STRETCH OF THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 60MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF FREEWAY. PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN TURNED OFF VEHICLE. STARTED RIGHT UP BUT WHEN I SHIFTED THE ENGINE WOULD REV BUT NOT ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. NONE OF THE GEARS WOULD ENGAGE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO GOODYEAR TIRE AND AUTO IN DAVIS, CA AND ASSESSED FOR PROBLEM. THEY CONTACTED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF ABOUT $4600. THE VEHICLE HAD 87,000 MILES ON IT AND THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 80,000. WE CONTACTED HONDA BUT THEY SAID THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. IT SEEMS THAT THIS YEAR HONDA HAD A SOFTWARE RECALL WHICH WAS COMPLETED ON THIS VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES OF USE IN 2016. THE SOFTWARE RECALL FIXED A PROBLEM THAT WOULD LEAD TO THIS EXACT FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION. IF DAMAGE HAD OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE SOFTWARE FIX THEN IT SEEMS LIKELY IT COULD SHORTEN THE EXPECTED LIFE OF THE TRANSMISSION AND CONTRIBUTED TO THIS TRANSMISSION FAILURE.

LOUD RATTLE NOISE ON COLD START AND LASTS FOR 1-2 SECONDS. MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT IT'S THE VTC ACTUATOR AND CURRENTLY THERE'S NO FIX FOR IT. IF REPLACED, IT WILL EVENTUALLY COMES BACK AGAIN.

ON COLD START AFTER ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS THE ENGINE DIES. ADDITIONALLY NO DIAGNOSTIC ERROR CODE OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATES GIVING NO INDICATION THERE IS A PROBLEM. THE CAR DOES START AFTER THIS HAPPENS ALTHOUGH IT HAS IN THE PAST, NOT THE LAST TIME THIS ISSUE OCCURRED, I DID HEAVE TO CHOKE THE ENGINE TO GET IT TO START. DURING THE LAST INCIDENT THE AMBIENT OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ~70F. THE CAR WAS STARTED AND PUT INTO REVERSE WITHIN THE FIRST 5 SECONDS OF IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A FLAT SURFACE DURING THE INCIDENT. NO ACCESSORIES WERE RUNNING EXCEPT FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. I WAS NOT TURNING BUT BACKING UP STRAIGHT INTO A PARKING SPOT BEFORE LOSS OF POWER AND CONTROL.

WHEN MY CRV IS STOPPED WITH VEHICLE IN GEAR (AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT). I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TECHNICIAN A MARKING THE ISSUE AS NORMAL VIBRATIONS. MY SON COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS VEHICLE. I BOUGHT THIS 2015 CRV USED WITH APPROXIMATELY 31,400. MILES. CHECKED THE CAR FAX NO PROBLEMS NO ACCIDENTS REPORTED. THE CAR DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE CAR AND SERVICED IT. IT HAD AN OIL JOB, BATTERY, TIRES REPLACED. DROVE IT FOR 4 MONTHS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I AM STILL UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THEN DECEMBER 17 THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE MY 22 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING IT ON THE ROADWAY. JUST LOST POWERS. SOMEONE EVENTUALLY PUSHED HIS CAR OFF TO THE SIDE OF ROAD AND OUT OF TRAFFIC. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO JOYCE HONDA. ALTHOUGH UNDER WARRANTY THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT. SAID THE CAR HAD ONLY 1 GALLON OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. NO LEAKS. THERE WAS NO PROBLEMS PRIOR, NO LIGHTS LITE UP ON THE DASHBOARD WARNING US TO SERVICE OR CHECK THE ENGINE. NO FUMES. WE DIDN'T EVEN OWN THE CAR LONG ENOUGH TO NEED AN OIL JOB YET. I SPOKE TO OTHER MECHANICS WHO SAID IT'S DEFECTIVE. IT COULD NOTBHAVE BEEN DRIVEN FOR FOUR MONTHS ON ONE GALLON TRANSMISSION FLUID. I KNOW HONDA HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S A DEFECTIVE TORGUE CONVERTER THAT IS BURNING OFF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. I HAVE A CASE OPEN WITH HONDA BUT THEY REFUSE TO HONOR MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THIS IS A $4800 REPAIR! AFTER WAITING FOR OVER A MONTH FOR IT TO BE FIXED, I PICKED IT UP AND WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE PERFORMANCE. I BROUGHT IT BACKAND WAS TOLD THAT THE SOUND I WAS HEARING COMES FROM A "FLAT SPOT IN THE TIRE SINCE IT WAS SITTING THERE FOR A LONG TIME AND I SHOULD DRIVE IT FOR A MONTH AND IF NO CHANGES I SHOULD BUY NEW TIRE. " THAT DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME SO HERE I AM TRYING TO FIGUR IT OUT, VERY DISGRUNTLED, AND DISSATISFIED!!. ON TOP OF THAT THE VIBRATING OF THE CAR ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S IDLING... NOT EVERY TIME I START THE CAR, BUT AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN JUNE 2015. ALSO IN GENERAL THE CAR SHUDDERS SIGNIFICANTLY WHILE IDLING IN DRIVE. I FEAR THAT SOON THE CAR MAY START STALLING IN DRIVE AS WELL WHILE IT IS IDLING. WHILE DRIVING, MY WATER PUMP SEIZED CAUSING MY DRIVE BELT TO DISENGAGE MY DRIVE TRAIN. THIS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO OVER HEAT AS WELL AS THE BELT TO RUB ON THE ENGINE. THE FRICTION FROM THIS CAUSED THE BELT TO START THROWING EMBERS. THE SMOKE FROM THE BURNING BELT IS WHAT INDICATED TO ME THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE AND EMBERS MADE ME FEAR THAT MY CAR HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. AFTER GETTING MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE CLOSEST AUTO SHOP I WAS INFORMED ABOUT TSB ID #A17-063. SERVICE BULLETIN - THE WATER PUMP SEIZED OR THE DRIVE BELT SHREDDED. THE WATER PUMP BEARING IS OUT OF SPECIFICATION. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A RECALL. HAD THIS HAPPENED AT A DIFFERENT TIME AND PLACE, IT COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR IF I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD FAST ENOUGH I FEAR THAT MY CAR WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE.

I WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT'S IT'S NORMAL BUT IT DEFINITELY IS NOT NORMAL AND UNBELIEVABLY UNCOMFORTABLE AND DISTRACTING WHILE TRYING TO FOCUS ON DRIVING. IT'S EMBARRASSING THAT ANYONE IN THE CAR ALSO COMMENTS AND THIS WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A NEWER CAR THAT I WAS HAPPY ABOUT AND PROUD OF. I HAVE SINCE SEEN REVIEWS ONLINE OF SO MANY OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS. IMMEDIATELY AFTER DRIVING THE CAR OFF OF PENSKE'S LOT, IT VIBRATED SO BADLY THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY DISTURBING. FOLLOW A FEW FRUSTRATING CONVERSATIONS WITH PENSKE HONDA ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FISHER'S HONDA. FISHER'S HONDA PERFORMED UPDATE 15-046 FOR VIBRATION AT IDLE, WHICH AMELIORATED THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STILL VIBRATES QUITE NOTICEABLY WHEN ENGAGED IN DRIVE AND STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE. THE IDLE SPEED DROPS TO AROUND 550 RPM WHEN STOPPED AND IN DRIVE. THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATES IN THE DRIVER'S HANDS. IN MY OPINION, NO ONE WOULD BUY A NEW OR EVEN USED CAR WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CERTAINLY WOULDN'T. WE TOOK THE 2015 HONDA CRV TO TOM WOOD HONDA. ONE OF THEIR TOP TECHNICIANS DROVE THE CAR WITH US IN IT. HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM, BUT STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MORE HE COULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAN WHAT HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE, AND THAT THE PROBLEM HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN PAIRING. THE SURGE OF ENERGY SEEMED TO PULL-STEER MY CAR TO THE RIGHT AND IT HIT A PARKED CAR THAT WAS 3 SPOTS TO THE RIGHT AS THERE WERE NO CARS IN THE EMPTY PARKING SPOTS NEXT TO THIS CAR. MY CAR ALMOST WENT SIDEWAYS AND HIT THE CAR'S FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE AREA AND DAMAGED IT PRETTY BADLY. I WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR DURING THIS ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WILL SOUND AN ALARM AND DISPLAY "SHIFT TO PARK" ON ONE OF IT'S SCREENS. HOWEVER, THIS DOES NOT PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING ON ANY FORM OF INCLINE. WE HAVE ALMOST LOST THE CAR THREE TIMES IN PEOPLE'S DRIVEWAYS WITH THIS PROBLEM. YES, THE PREFERRED SOLUTION IS TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE BEFORE EXITING BUT THAT IS NOT A REAL-WORLD SOLUTION FOR FLAT-LANDERS (THIS SOLUTION IS ONLY USED ON STEEP INCLINES). OUR PREVIOUS IGNITION KEY CAR WOULD NOT LET US REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION WAS PLACED IN PARK. THIS DEFICIENCY COULD EASILY RESULT IN AN OUT-OF-CONTROL RUNAWAY CAR.

I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA CORP AND THEY SAID EVEN WITH THE 4 SUGGESTED REPAIRS WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN PREFORMED ON MY CAR BY THE LOCAL HONDA SERVICE CENTER, THIS WILL NOT STOP THE VIBRATION ISSUE AND THAT HONDA HAS NO OTHER KNOWN FIX TO STOP THE VIBRATION ISSUE AND THAT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE CAR. THE LOCAL HONDA SERVICE CENTER VERBALLY ACKNOWLEDGES THE VIBRATION ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO PUT IT ON THE SERVICE REPORT THAT THERE IS STILL A VIBRATION ISSUE. I SEE ALL THE POST FROM OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. BROUGHT THE VEHICLE, TO THE DEALER, ON OCTOBER 3RD TO DETERMINE WHAT THE CAUSE OF THE VIBRATION MIGHT BE. THE VIBRATIONS WERE CONFIRMED BY THE MECHANIC DURING A TEST DRIVE. THE FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE WERE CHECKED AND FOUND TO BE WITHIN SPECS. A SERVICE BULLETIN WAS FOUND INSTRUCTING THE MECHANIC TO PERFORM A SOFTWARE UPDATE. A SECOND TEST DRIVE SHOWED NO IMPROVEMENT. HONDA TECHNICIANS WERE CALLED WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THAT HONDA WAS WORKING ON IT (APPARENTLY SINCE 2014). THE TECHNICIANS INDICATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS THOUGHT TO BE RELATED TO "HARMONIC DISTORTIONS" ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF THE DRIVE TRAIN, FOUND IN THE HONDA ACCORD, IN THE 2015 CR-V. THE HONDA TECHNICIANS OFFERED ASSURANCES THAT THERE WERE NO SAFETY ISSUES. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DIFFERENT DEALER WHO CHECKED THE SAME MECHANICAL PARAMETERS INCLUDING THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. THIS WILL HAPPEN ON A HILL, UP OR DOWN, OR ON A FLAT. YESTERDAY I COULD ACTUALLY FEEL THE DROP FROM 3000 TO 1000 IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. I AM NOT PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL AT THESE TIMES. THIS IS ABNORMAL FUNCTION. 4) ON THE HIGHWAY , I SLOWED DOWN BEHIND A TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE CARS WERE SPEEDING BY ON THE LEFT. I THEN TRIED TO PASS THE TRUCK AND THE CAR JUST WOULDN'T GO. I CALLED HONDA USA AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR A CHECK. THE DEALER AFTER CHECKING THE CAR TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THIS WAS ON MARCH 23, 2015. ON MARCH 24, 2015 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE HONDA DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE STATING THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE NEW TRANSMISSIONS AND THAT HONDA IS TRYING TO FIND A FIX BUT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW LONG ITS GOING TO TAKE TO FIGURE WHAT THE FIX IS GOING TO BE. TODAY MARCH 25, 2015 I RECEIVED A CALL FROM HONDA USA CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYING THAT THE SYMPTOMS THAT I'M EXPERIENCING IN THE CAR ARE A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR. I INFORMED HER THAT I SPOKE TO THE DEALER REP AND HE TOLD ME THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE TRANSMISSION AND SHE SAID SHE WASN'T INFORMED ABOUT IT. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I PAID $26,000 FOR A CAR THAT VIBRATES AT LOW SPEEDS, THAT MY WIFE WON'T DRIVE BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T FEEL SAFE IN IT, AND HONDA USA IS TELLING ME ITS NORMAL FOR THE CAR TO DO THIS. I TEST DROVE ANOTHER 2015 CR-V AND IT EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUES. IT MAY BE A COMMON CHARACTERISTIC BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THE DRIVE TRAIN IS FUNCTIONING AS IT SHOULD. IT GREATLY DIMINISHES THE OVERALL QUALITY FEEL OF THE VEHICLE. I ALSO REPORTED THE ISSUE TO HONDA USA. MINE IS A 2015 CRV EXL. I CAN'T BELIEVE HONDA BUILT THIS CAR. IT HAS BAD VIBRATIONS WHEN STOPPED AND IDLING, THE ENTIRE SEAT SHAKES. IT HAS BAD ENGINE/ TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING WHEN I ACCELERATE WHEN THE ENGINE CHOOSES A RPM IN THE 1000-2000 RANGE. EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT SHUDDERS AT RANDOM INTERVALS. THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM. NOT ONLY IS IT EXTREMELY ANNOYING, IT CAN NOT BE GOOD FOR THE ENGINE LONG TERM. THIS WILL CAUSE A MAJOR ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION FAILURE IN THE FUTURE. HONDA NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM, FIND A SOLUTION, AND APOLOGIZE TO ME AND ALL THOSE 2015 CRV OWNERS.

AFTER VEHICLE IS WARMED UP IDLE IS VERY LOW , AROUND 550 RPM, AND VEHICLE JUST SHAKES AND PASSENGER SEAT VIBRATES. VIBRATIONS CAN BE FELT THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL, AND CREATE A DISTRACTION DURING DRIVING. HONDA'S RESPONSE IS THAT THE VEHICLE IS WITHIN PARAMETERS AND THIS IS A CHARACTERISTIC. AS I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE STOPPED RESPONDING. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 7 TIMES NOW SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW IN OCT. 2014. IT HAPPENS AS I GIVE THE VEHICLE GAS TO ACCELERATE - IT SEEMS TO JUST STOP ACCELERATING - IT LASTS ABOUT 2 SECONDS, AND THEN SEEMS TO RECOVER. THERE IS THE SENSATION THAT THE VEHICLE HAS SHUTDOWN/SHUTOFF, BUT DOES NOT ACTUALLY STALL. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS BETWEEN 50-65 MPH, BUT HAS HAPPENED 1X UNDER 15MPH (WAS IN A PARKING LOT AT THAT TIME). THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD PULLED INTO A HIGH-SPEED LANE, GAVE THE CAR GAS, BUT IT JUST SEEMED TO GO DEAD FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. *TR

HOWEVER AFTER DRIVE EVERYDAY FROM HOME TO WORK, AND WORK TO HOME, THE CRV 2015 HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM. WHEN IT'S IN D MODE AND BRAKE PRESSED, THE RPM STAYS AROUND 600, WHEN I'M WAITING FOR RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE CAR JUST VIBRATES REALLY CRAZY. I HAVE VERY SHORT LEG, SO I'M TRYING MY BEST TO HOLD ON THE BRAKE, BUT THE SHAKE IS MAKING IT REALLY DIFFICULT, NUMEROUS TIME MY LEGS ARE SO TIRED I HAD TO PUT ON PARKING MODE. THE PROBLEM WONT OCCUR WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD OR THE HEATER FAN IS ON HIGH. AND I CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATE, THEY SAY ALL THE PARTS ARE GOOD THERE IS NO PARTS DEFECT SO IT DOESN'T QUALIFY FOR RECALL. BUT COME ON! IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, SPECIALLY IF YOU DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN NEW YORK WHICH INVOLVES COUNTLESS STOPS. THERE ARE SEVERAL ONGOING PROBLEMS CAUSED BY DEFECTS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE IS A VIBRATION WHEN THE CAR IS IN "DRIVE" AND COMPLETELY STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION. THE RPM'S DROP, SOMETIMES AS LOW AS 550 WHICH CAUSES A VIBRATION AS IF THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO STALL. THE LOWER THE RPM'S, THE WORSE THE VIBRATION. ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS I HAVE HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AT A STOP LIGHT BECAUSE THE RPMS DROPPED SO LOW. THERE IS ANOTHER VIBRATION OR SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN 1800 AND 2000 RPMS WHEN ACCELERATING. SOMETIMES I SMELL GASOLINE IN MY CAR SHORTLY AFTER IGNITION. SOMETIMES FOLLOWING DECELERATION, THE CVT TRANSMISSION CANNOT CATCH UP, AND WHEN I NEED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, I PUT THE "PEDAL TO THE METAL;" BUT THE CAR IS BARELY ACCELERATING AND NOT THRUSTING FORWARD LIKE IT SHOULD. THIS OCCURRED ON A HIGHWAY MERGE AT I-83 AND I-695 ON DECEMBER 19, 2014 (A TRICKY AND DANGEROUS MERGE AREA). TWICE SINCE 1/1/15 I HAVE HEARD A FRIGHTENING ENGINE NOISE WHEN DECELERATING ON A WINDY DOWNHILL ROAD. THE NOISE SOUNDS LIKE A SMALL PLANE IS OVERHEAD, AND I WAS SHOCKED THE CAR WS STILL RUNNING, AS I WAS LOOKING FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR SOME INDICATION WHAT WAS WRONG. IT IS NOT A NORMAL ENGINE NOISE. HONDA IS AWARE OF THE VIBRATIONS WHEN STOPPED AND AT 1800-2000 RPMS AND DOES NOT KNOW IF/WHEN A FIX MAY BE AVAILABLE. I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER WITH THIS ISSUE - THERE ARE A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON THE VARIOUS REVIEW BOARDS, AND HONDA HAS ACKNOWLEDGED IT IS WIDESPREAD. HONDA WILL NOT PROVIDE THEIR POSITION TO ME IN WRITING WHEN ASKED. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE OTHER PROBLEMS WHICH ARE MORE INTERMITTENT, AND IT WILL BE BACK AT THE DEALER NEXT WEEK TO ADDRESS THE FRIGHTENING ENGINE NOISE AND DOCUMENT THAT PROBLEM.
