The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to use the remote start, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle had to be started manually, and once started, the parking brake, air bags, check engine, TPMS, and the Service Vehicle warning lights were illuminated. The failure was intermittent; however, the warning lights occasionally illuminated while driving at various speeds or while idling. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

New battery dies after sitting for one night. Had checked after driving a couple of miles to autozone. Battery test Good. Next morning battery was dead again. There is some sort of peristent drain on the battery that kills the battery overnight.

For some weeks, the driver’s heated seat began to heat to excessive temperatures without me turning on the seat warmer. The seat heating system intermittently reaches temperatures high enough to cause painful burn-type irritation to my back and buttocks. I have experienced repeated episodes where normal seat heating settings produced dangerously high heat. I returned the vehicle multiple times to Townsend Honda for diagnosis and repair (repair orders are on file with the dealer and with Honda corporate). Despite multiple service visits, the dealership has been unable to permanently resolve the overheating condition. On 09162025 and 09222025 repairs or diagnostics were attempted but the defect persists. Honda corporate has since opened Case #15869482 for further review but I have not heard from Honda corporate till now.

This all started when I purchased a 2018 Honda CRV from Motorworld in the late months of 2021 used. When this issue started happening, Motorworld ignored me when I was asking questions. Then, when I brought it in for service, they used tactics like "if we don't find anything, we will have to charge you a service fee" or call me the next day and say "before we hook it up, it may be your easy pass". They took the car in after I had complained about going down [XXX] , and with nothing in front of my car, it slammed on the brakes going from 40-0mph. When they got done, I went to pick up the car, and they told me it was the aftermarket windshield, but it was the one I bought with the car. I called Honda, they made Motor World take it in, and then called me and told me that they have the information and would share it with the appropriate parties. It has continued to happen, and I could get killed if it happens to me. I called to give Honda a more detailed recent incident, and the lady was like They closed this case. I have been waiting for a solution, and Honda just closed the case. I have been worried about the family's safety for 4 years. When it happened the brake warning comes on and the car just stopped. Please dont let them hide this issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

There was a recall on the fuel pump which houses the fuel filter which led to faulty fuel injectors, after speaking with Honda mechanic I was informed that they are aware that there is an issue with injectors but no recall has been issued yet. The fuel injection issue would cause the car to lose acceleration and speed. Also an unknown electrical issue is happening with the car, battery has had to be replaced 3 times in the past three years, Honda mechanic is unable to locate the issue.

A few weeks ago, my vehicle suddenly turned off at a stop light. For several weeks, it’s been feeling like it’s being forced to take off. Today, the car struggled to turn on and then turned off and all the lights came on. It happened three times. A year ago, I received a recall letter that the fuel pump needed to be replaced and that I would be notified when the parts arrived. When my car starting having issues, my mechanic said it might be the fuel pump. I contacted Honda to replace it and they said the recall had been closed. Now I’m having these issues with my vehicle and I’ve read online about it happening to several people who have owned 2018 Honda CRVs.

I am submitting this complaint due to repeated and unresolved safety and performance issues. Beginning in mid-2023, the vehicle experienced multiple system-wide failures, including: -All dashboard warning lights illuminating intermittently without cause, sometimes for days. -Sudden failure to accelerate after stopping, including stalling in intersections. -Engine running rich with repeated check engine light activations. On two occasions, the vehicle stalled in the middle of busy intersections, once with my [XXX] child in the car, posing a serious risk to my family and other drivers. The dealership replaced the A/C Control Unit (June 2023) citing it as the cause of the system alerts, but no improvement was seen. The dealership then diagnosed a faulty VSA unit, quoted $2,500, but never ordered the part or followed up. A third-party shop (Mr. Tire) diagnosed a faulty ECM, which the dealership ignored. In September 2023, dealership recommended replacing the fuel injectors, which I paid for out-of-pocket (~$1,000), which resolved the warning lights and stalling. However, ongoing problems persist: The air conditioning system is no longer cooling effectively, despite prior repair. The car also feels underpowered when accelerating or starting, with weak engine revving compared to when the car was new. While no current warning lights appear, the performance is noticeably degraded. In April 2025, the vehicle’s fuel pump was finally replaced under Honda’s service bulletin recall after being on the waiting list for the parts for nearly 1.5 years, but these other concerns remain unresolved. I am submitting this complaint because: The stalling incidents created serious safety hazards in live traffic. The vehicle has experienced repeated systemic failures that align with known issues reported by other 2018 CR-V owners. Despite multiple dealership visits and significant personal expense, the vehicle has not been restored to reliable and safe operating condition. all warning signs come on at the same time on the dashboard. Car repair service explained that this is a known problem with CRV and suggested that I take it to he dealer. I have disconnected and reconnected the battery and this worked in discontinuing the warning signs but this was a temporary fix since same problem reappeared within weeks. This has reoccurred several times since 2024. Appointment has been made with dealer since the danger is whether warning sign is legitimate or just an electrical problem. This happens when car is first started and prior to initial drive. Does not prevent use of the car.

I am writing to express my concern and disappointment regarding persistent electrical issues with my 2018 Honda CR-V (VIN: [XXX] ). My vehicle has recently experienced multiple warning lights turning on simultaneously, including brake, VSA, and TPMS. After inspection, I was informed that the issue may be related to the battery or sensor systems, even though the vehicle has not experienced any incidents or misuse. I would like to emphasize that this is a well-known issue reported by many 2018 CR-V owners, as evidenced in online forums, service bulletins, and consumer complaints. It is extremely frustrating to be responsible for repair costs for what appears to be a design or manufacturing flaw. Additionally, I visited a local Honda dealership for diagnosis, but I was given no explanation regarding the cause of the problem and was simply asked to pay for service. I found this experience to be highly unprofessional and upsetting, especially considering the seriousness of the issue and my loyalty to the brand. Given the potential safety risks and the common nature of this problem, I respectfully request that Honda consider my case for goodwill repair coverage or reimbursement. I am also aware of an open fuel pump recall (Campaign: 24-007:6FE00) on this vehicle, and would like to confirm that any and all necessary service campaigns are addressed. Please let me know how to proceed, or if you require additional documentation. Thank you for your time and understanding. Driving i would lose all power like inwas out of gas. Would let it sit for a few minutes and it would run normally for a while then stall on the side of the road. Happened 2 times on the interstate and one on a back road.

Fuel Pump recall completed at McGrath Honda, St. Charles IL., on Monday 2/3/2025. Never had any issues with car since purchase in 2019. Since Fuel Pump recall I have had an additional 3 visits. Car has a rumble and shaking when starting. Revisit on 4/1 shop found no problems all inspections checkout out. Once again car still rubles and shakes when starting. On [XXX] my 17 year old was driving, all emergency lights came on, gas pedal stopped working, (This is a vital safety concern for a gas pedal to stop working) and car overheated. Car required another shopping and upon inspection again no issues identified. On [XXX] again all warning lights activated, car rumbles/ shakes upon starting. Car returned to shop where faulty oring on fuel pump was identified and changed. All warning lights cleared and car returned. On [XXX] Car rumbles when starting, all warning lights active and car speed is limited. Car will be shopped for 5th service in 3.5 months since Honda Fuel Pump recall. No other major shop events in car since prior since 2018. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My vehicle became difficult to steer, similar to driving with all the tires low on air. I made an appointment with Proctor Honda. They determined the Electronic Power Steering Rack was sticking and replaced it with a 5320-TLB-A23 : G/BOX ASSY, EPS. Honda assured me this was not a recall issue. After paying the $4365.66 repair charge, I determined there was a Service Bulletin 23-037 issued for this same problem. It applied to 2018 Honda CRVs. However, it only covered 54 vehicles and my vehicle was not included. This seems unreasonable given it appears to be the identical issue as the vehicles subject to the recall. I'm a 76 year old female and have no means to challenge this other than to ask for your help in determining if I am being treated fairly. If it truly is not the same issue, then I understand. Mileage is 87,661.

Car was not able to shift into lower gears. Car would not accelerate when put in drive and drive did not illuminate on the dash. Gearshift was slipping between neutral and drive. mechanic got code of U3003–16. And U 04168. On a separate couple of occasions, the emergency brake system was activated when nothing was in the road

ALL dashboard warning lights and beeping alerts come on/cycle through for a few days. Then, things quiet down for a few days. Cruise control stops working when this happens. VERY ANNOYING and erodes confidence in the safety of the vehicle. PLEASE address this problem, which has been experienced by SO many others, with a RECALL fix as soon as possible.

Apr 19, 2025

In January 2023 our vehicle began having numerous issues with sensors, alarms, door locks, the car would turn itself on and drain the battery overnight and at times would not shut off without pulling the main fuse. Through research online it was clear that the problem was the Body Control Module (BCM). There are many, many reports online of the 2018 CRV having this problem, so I took it to the dealer and they had never heard of the issue. They tried to do diagnostics but had no way to determine if it was the BCM. Finally, I asked them to just replace the BCM even without a diagnosis, and after 2 months (there were significant back orders of this part) we were able to get it installed in the car and all was fine. Fast forward to last week (April 2025) and it’s starting up again - electronics turning on randomly, battery drain, windows going down in the garage, warning lights all illuminated, dead battery every day - so the BCM that was installed in 2023 has failed AGAIN. Honda absolutely knows about this issue as they have a recall for Accords. However, I paid $1000 to fix it in 2023 and will no doubt pay at least that much now to do it again. Meanwhile, the car is effectively inoperable and can’t be safely operated on the road. Honda needs to RECALL this issue and fix it for good.

Apr 13, 2025

The infotainment display on my vehicle's dashboard flashes and emits a "beeping" sound frequently. The only way to remedy the problem is to pull off the road, shut down the engine and restart it. The flashing and beeping is not only annoying, but poses a safety hazard - particularly at night. I belong to a Honda CR-V owners group and my complaint is frequently echoed by other CR-V owners, so the problem is not limited to my vehicle. My Honda dealer will fix the problem for $1,600. I've been in touch with Honda corporate and they refuse to remedy the problem at their expense since my vehicle is out of warranty.

All for the safety features light remains on after starting and driving my car. I drive my car for 2 to 3 days per week. The most recent maintenance on my car was the Honda recall and alignment at the dealer. Reading various chats this seems to be a comma issue for the Honda CRV. I am concerned if saftey features work and if my sensors are defected. I purchased my car December 2018 with little over 67, 000k miles.

Mar 11, 2025

Summary of Issue: I am submitting this complaint regarding unresolved safety recall issues and recurring emission system failures with my 2018 Honda CR-V. Safety Recall Unresolved for Over One Year: I received a safety recall notice in early 2024 concerning my vehicle’s fuel pump, but despite numerous follow-ups with both Honda Customer Support and my local dealership, the issue has not been addressed. The necessary parts are not available, and the problem continues to be postponed for over a year, presenting potential safety risks. Emission System Disorder: In 2022, I experienced issues with the emission system in my vehicle, and the case was registered under Case Number 13205072. However, in 2025, the emission system malfunctioned again, and the dealer attributed it to a fuel injector problem. This contradicts the original diagnosis and raises further concerns about a defect in the emission system that may have existed since the vehicle was purchased. Dealer Excuse for Issue: Recently, the dealership has suggested that a faulty fuel injector caused the emission system failure, but I believe the underlying issue could be more serious, potentially related to the recall and the original emission system defect.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The CAR had everyt warning light come on the dashboard- this happened multiple times to many people it's been widely reported online. Honda is covering it up and not doing anything about it..... every safety feature in teh car ceases to work! and does not operate- the car STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY! honda is aware and hiding this issue. it's affective 2017-2019 CRV. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes! I took to the dealer and they're aware of it... they said there is no recalls yet. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? honda is supressing this! Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO!

Multiple vehicle warning lights showing up on dashboard, but only when the weather is cold - usually under 35 degrees F. Once the temperature goes above 35 degrees F, the warning lights disappear. Not exactly sure what is going on, but have read online of a bunch of other owners of 2017 and 2018 Honda CR-V’s experiencing the same exact issue. Would like to get Honda Motor Corp. to cover the cost of repair.

BCM box failed without warning. This caused the brand new battery to die without warning and caused the vehicle to stop recognizing both key fobs, locking me out of the vehicle. Panic alarm randomly went off in the middle of the night. If this happens in an area without cell phone service, I would not have been able to call for roadside assistance. If this happens in an unsafe area, drivers are put at risk. Problem has been diagnosed by two separate mechanics, one of whom works at Honda. There were no warnings. The only warning that seems like a warning in hindsight is that the original car battery failed without warning overnight. That battery was promptly replaced, only to have the above problem occur within two weeks.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the brakes suddenly activated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and continued driving. The contact stated the road was uneven due to construction and there was metal covering over the parts of the road being worked on. The brake light flashed on the instrument panel, advising the driver to apply the brakes while there was no other vehicle in front of the contact to activate the sensor. The failure occurred intermittently. The dealer was informed of the failure but had not diagnosed the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

2018 Honda CRV with 47,000 miles bought 12/23/24. Upon driving the car that evening all warning lights on dashboard lit up, and every warning started popping up on the dash - hill start assist error, power steering problem, parking brake problem, vehicle stability assist problem, etc. Car drove without being affected but the warnings continued cycling through on the dashboard. Took it back to the dealer I bought it from, and they said the battery wasn't tightened down all the way. I drove it and the next day all the lights came back on, and cycled through all the warning system errors. It has since stopped again, but this seems to be an issue with the 2018 CRVs.

I have been having issues with my car abruptly stopping by itself. One example is when I was driving down the road with no one behind me and the car went from 40MPH to 0. The car behind me almost hit me. But MotorWorld's excuse to this was maybe this was because of the sun!!!!! I had called MotorWorld when this first started happening and they claimed they never heard of this happening before after bringing the car in to be looked at they kept asking if i was sure I wanted it to be looked at because with will cost me money if no codes show. I had it looked at and they told me it was my EZ-pass then it was my aftermarket window that I bought the car with (even though they found codes while troubleshooting). I eventually asked them to disable it, which they told me they couldn't. I found online that there is a button to disable it every time I get in the car. I had called Honda directly to file a complaint which the person told me to take it to get a second opinion. I told him I took it to a certified Honda dealer why would I have to take it anywhere else. I am still driving this unsafe car that stops by itself. I would have filed this a long time ago, but I was not aware of this reporting system. Thats why I reported it to honda who did nothing for me, but mislead me for months before I just gave up on them

All warning lights appearing on the dashboard unexpectedly which then prevents the cruise control and other features from working. This issue comes and goes and makes it unsafe to drive. A new battery was installed but that did not solve the issue and no one has a solution. There are many websites stating this exact same problem. Different years and both CR-V and Pilots.

Nov 6, 2024

Every warning light came on at the same time. Everything except the cruise control and lane assist works, eventhough the warning lights are on. There is nothing wrong when driving, the car accelerates fine, brakes work fine. Only the cruise control and lane assist are affected by all the warning lights. Took car to the Honda dealership and was told 2 of my fuel injectors are completely clogged, but I have to replace all 4 of them. Why would fuel injector issue cause EVERY warning light to come on. My car gets great gas mileage (and has since I bought it brand new). Have read numerous forums with this same issue from 2017 Honda CRV to 2023 CRV's. Some have had their fuel injectors replaced and the problem comes back in a few weeks. If the fuel injectors aren't the issue, what exactly is making this happen and how do we know it won't cause the brakes and every other system to fail while driving down the street?

Oct 28, 2024

Keyless start system problem. The car turns on accessory mode without the key being inside. The battery drains which triggers the anti theft alarm. The car is not able to be opened with the keyless remote. You have to use a manual key. During the day the car won't unlock or the trunk won't open unless you use the manual key to open the car and then start the engine.

Oct 21, 2024

I talked to other people who has the same issue with me, bad head gasket , fuel injector an vsa module going bad, I'm having all 3 issues at the same time

While driving all the warning lights for every vehicle system came on. I was just pulling onto a highway when this occured and was not sure to pull to the side for fear vehicle was going to have a problem, especially when the alerts for break system failure came on.

Aug 28, 2024

I was driving my mother's 2018 Honda CR-V at a steady rate of about 30 mph when there was a warning chirp and the car suddenly braked hard and came to a complete stop. At that time, I was at least 30 feet behind the car in front and both my car and the one in front were traveling at the same speed. I can only assume that the collision avoidance system kicked in unexpectedly. After stopping, I restarted the car and proceeded normally, with no warning lights showing.

Aug 21, 2024

While away from home on vacation, the car alarm randomly went off for several minutes. Upon returning the battery was dead and would not start. Over the next several days this happened multiple times with the battery dying, car not starting, and the dash would light up and doors would not lock or unlock properly. Replaced the battery and again the same issue with alarm going off in the middle of the night after battery drain. I saw on the forums that the BCM is a common issue with the Honda vehicles. the car recognizes that "the start switch has been pushed, when it has not." This poses a safety risk for the car and the individual. Remedy from the dealer is the body/keyless module replacement at nearly 800.00. This seems to be something that Honda is aware of, but has not yet addressed.

Aug 15, 2024

As soon as I turn the vehicle on, all the warning lights turn on. I cannot use any safety features of the vehicle as the lights remain on. It started a year ago however used to go away itself. But this time it is consistent for over 10 days and not going away

8/6/24 confirmed by Honda dealer, steering gearbox internal failure. Need to replace rack and pinion assembly. See attached.

Jul 4, 2024

Several months ago, I noticed my steering wheel was sticky. While driving it is clearly difficult to turn the wheel. So I bought new tires and had a wheel alignment. The problem continues. I have just over 42,000 miles on the CRV and was under 40,000 when I noticed the problem. I just took it into the dealership and was told it was gear box issue that they are aware of and that would cost me over $3,000 to fix. When I googled this, I found that there are many complaints about this issue. Honda should recognize this problem and recall affected cars.

The following has happened several times before a repair was made: [Car Alarm / Unable to turn on/off car.] Questions: *BCM failure. My car is available for inspection. *Unable to turn off/on vehicle, children inside. *Problem reproduced months earlier, and at dealership (Goodyear(920-458-8306) and Honda International(920-208-0200), both in Sheboygan, WI) *Warning lights and messages only appeared during the issue happening, not prior. Started [XXX] Car alarm goes off during inconsistent times. Then if I try to turn it on, I am unable to turn the car back off: dash lights flicker, relay is clicking several times. IF I am eventually able to turn it off, I can not turn it back on, though it does try to (engine). Same symptoms as above. Eventually it seems to possibly drain the battery, and all the dash lights and relay again flicker, But then the brake pedal pushes back at me when trying to turn it back on (with no engine sound). Battery, On/Off switch, and BCM were replaced to resolve(?) this issue. We will see if this continues. I am seeing MANY others online having the exact same problem. Side note: Touch Screen Infotainment screen went black months prior. pulling fuse and inserting it fixed that issue. Also, I have video, but am unable to upload here. Vehicle is flashing all kinds of repair needed signals. It is stalling and shutting off. It's not safe for me to drive. I'm elderly (disabled) and need to drive to get medicine and doctors appointments. The fuel pump is on recall and I can not wait until the fall to get the pump replaced. No Honda dealers have the pumps in stick yet. I need help ASAP. Thank you

Dashboard all warning lights flashing. Unable to see how fast I’m going. Has happened multiple times in the past months. And Is also a safety distraction. Light will not turn off unless I connect and disconnect the battery, which will still happen again either way in about a week.

The wiring harness that runs the electric lock on the back doors is faulty. I suspect it is because the wiring harness is too tight, and when the back doors are opened repeatedly it wears on the wires and eventually causes the wires to break. This means that the back door locks become manual locks. I think this is a mild safety issue because we have small children and it makes it difficult to get them in and out of the car. The problem was reported to the Honda dealership, and to an independent mechanic, both of whom reviewed the problem and confirmed it. The vehicle has not been inspected by Honda, the police, or insurance. There are no warning messages. The symptom is merely that the door lock ceases to function. This issue first appeared for us about five years after purchase of the vehicle (we purchased the vehicle new). We had the issue repairs once, and but it has happened again. When I google this issue, there are many forum posts with people experiencing the same issue (I would say it's a "known issue" for this vehicle).

The car quit suddenly while picking up my child at school and would not start. Had to be towed to the honda dealership due it not running. No warning sign of it having any problems, nothing. This qas February 13th and has been sitting therr for over a month now. I have contacted the Honda service department twice and they can not give me an ETA on when my car will be fixed or when the fue pump will arrive and if that is the only thing wrong with my car. This is our main vehicle, I do have a courtesy car to drive but I am making car payments on a car that is not functioning.

All electrical warnings spontaneously engaged on the panel; disabling cruise control and adaptive tools (emergency braking, lane warming, 3rd party vehicle encroachment, etc). The car drives fine. Has happened 6 times in the last 2 years. Either spontaneously resets when I turn the car off and then on, or I have to disengage the battery to reset everything.

While driving the entire driving assist system warnings started flashing (lane assist, blind spot, ACC, etc.) resulting in a solid system break light, with none of the safety features functioning. In addition to being very distracting while driving, had I not noticed the warning lights going off , I would not have known that the safety system was off. It is very easy to miss while focusing on driving in a rainy day like today. I am writing to you directly since the last time I emailed Honda about a confirmed SW bug that results in the screen going dark, they told me it is not a safety issue and requested $180 for a SW update. When your screen goes dark when you are driving after changing the brightness on its own, and you don't see the backing off warnings, or camera, I would say it is a safety issue. While I am not writing about this specific issue, I don't trust Honda to do an honest assessment. I am unaware if Honda researched this issue yet, but have seen reports online about this issue.

On 2/10/2024 I was stopped waiting to put gas in my car when all of a sudden multiple lights lite up on my dash board (vehicle stability assist, vsa problems, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control problems, collision mitigation problems, road departure mitigation system problem, power steering (eps) problems, electric brake system problem, emission system problem, brake system problem, * all integral to safe driving for me. I was able to drive slowly to my mechanic and he was able to do a diagnostic assessment and it showed a code B1234 (Air Mix Control Motor Circuit (Driver's) Short. He was able to turn all the warning lights off. I am now a little afraid to use my car long distance until I can get assured that this will not happen again. In searching the internet I find that this is not an isolated occurrence. There are multiple complaints regarding this same issue.

Display unexpectedly switches to brightness setting and then blinks off and on constantly with loud noise then goes dark, and repeats flashing noise dark etc. controls do not stop it and must pull off if interstate and turn off vehicle and restart to make it stop. It is a huge distraction and very scary to experience. How is this not a safety concern for Honda? Others have experience in what I have read. Needs to be a recall before folks wreck. You should not have to stop your car to get the flashing to quit. Would love to upload video of the experience. This happens about 1 to 2 times time a month at least. And started with about 37k on CRV and still doing it at 64k. Only reported now cause I have read of others having same issue.

Starting late December 2023, the vehicle drained the battery in the car very quickly. I replaced the battery twice, and twice the battery was drained to death very quickly. It was discovered by the local Honda dealer that the Body Control Module (BCM) on the car wakes up by itself while the car is shutdown and parked. BCM drains the battery very quickly and leaving the car in-operable, leaving us stranded. This is a very serious security risk. It caused over $1000 to repair. This is a wide-spread problem for Honda cars. Actually there is a recall for BCM in Honda Accord models.

All of the warning lights on my dash associated with the Advanced Driver Assistance system listed above come on and off randomly. This has happened numerous times over the last 18 months. I've been to the dealership twice and have also seen numerous complaints online. There doesn't seem to be a certain fix for the issues.

Jan 26, 2024

Sudden unexpected acceleration. Multiple occurences during same outing, almost caused me to have an accident . had to HARD break while engine continued to surge. Had vehicle towed to Honda Dealer. They said No Code set and couldn't duplicate condition. They kept vehicle 2 weeks and drove multiple times but couldn't duplicate problem. Since no code set, nothing fixed. Do not believe any diagnosis on components were done. My opinion.

Jan 11, 2024

The Body Control Module malfunctioned in my CRV. The alarm was going off at random and the car would start into accessory mode by itself after being shut off (after use). This is a safety concern as it draws attention to me, the driver, when parking my car in a public space. For females, this can be scary and is especially dangerous as after this the car will typically not start, nor will the doors lock, for several minutes. If it occurs in a garage, I worry about any emissions coming from the car (carbon dioxide) if the car were to start on its own, which is what was happening in my 2 car garage. I took the car to the dealer, who is replacing the body control module. I also read online that Honda is recalling certain 2018-2020 Accord Sedan, Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles due to this issue, though 2018 CRVs were not included. The problem first appeared 1/6/2024, there were no warnings prior to it appearing. I had to get the battery jumped as it ended up dying and the same situation happened - I then took the car to the dealership.

Our 2018 CRV Touring modelm has had the dashboard light up like a christmas tree with all codes flashing. We have had the vehicle to the local honda dealer numerous times and also to a private garage. The battery has been changerd out, The Honda dealer performed a sparkplug recall and the car continues to do this with the dashboard lighting up showing all kinds of codes. Last evening for the second time the car would not go above 10 MPH. I had to shut down the engine and restart. This is very dangerous. We bought the car brand new and have had all the maintenance done. My wife is afraid to drive the car, Is there anything NHTSA can do to have Honda look into this problem. From my looking into this it appears quite a few honda CRV's are encountering this problem. This is unsafe. Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing back from you

I parked my car after my lunch break, set the parking brake, turned off the car, and then locked the car from the door passengers side door exterior handle after grabbing my bag (to be clear I did walk around the car, so I’m positive the car was off.) and as always checked via the back door handle. The car was fully turned off and locked. I went to back to my office. When I left for the day several hours later I found the car still locked but now running, the parking brake disabled, but no message that the keys couldn’t be detected or that the car was in accessory mode despite the fact my keys were sitting outside of the car near the back drivers side wheel along with my bag a range too far to unlock the doors much less be a sensor for the car . The hood was hot to the touch so it had been running for a while. The keys were in my hands as I walked up to the vehicle so the keys weren’t accidentally left in the car. My only other key was home where only I have access to it. The car was otherwise undisturbed. It’s a well patrolled area and there is almost always at least one employee in the immediate area. I use the remote start on routine basis so I know even if I managed an impossible feat of accidentally hitting the remote start sequence correctly when I was outside of the range of the fob it shouldn’t still be running. As I know for a fact that my car turns off the car if started via remote start after 20 minutes and between my gas gage and heat from the hood the car had been running for a while. I was very lucky I was not parked in an enclosed garage. I did turn the car off, let it cool down, before restarting the car without issues. The only other possible symptom is the car has been randomly disconnecting CarPlay for several months prior to this.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the brakes locked up inadvertently. Additionally, the electronic braking system, TPMS, the emission, the AWD system, braking system, brake hose, power steering, the vehicle stability assistance, Fuel Start Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and the Hydro High beam warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, there was smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that there was sludge in the engine and that the turbo system was blown. The dealer replaced the turbo, rebuilt the engine, and performed an oil change and an engine flush; however, the failure persisted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Schaumburg Honda Automobiles (750 E Golf Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60173), where an oil change and an engine flush were performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who informed the contact that the timing chain was loose and needed to be replaced. The contact declined the repair. The contact stated he had replaced PCV valve, the camshaft sensor, and the battery himself. Additionally, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the ECM. The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer for the repair. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer, where the contact was informed that the engine needed to be taken apart. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and several cases were opened. Additionally, the manufacturer referred the contact to the third dealer for the repair. After battery replacement done by dealership Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning, horn was off, lights were on, keyless remote can not be detected, many safety system errors etc. Called road side assist, after entire system reset, everything seemed to be normal, but problem showed up again on Saturday morning. Towed car to dealership, they checked everything and turned out to be body control module problem, had to replace body control module. My car only 5 years, 55k miles. It happed so randomly, faulty locks, faulty anti-theft, and can be a huge safety concern/issue.

Multiple engine failure codes appeared on dashboard. Took vehicle for inspection and diagnoses states code P0172 Fuel system too rich. The service technician recommended fuel injector replacement due to faulty injectors. Service advisor did not file a warranty claim on my behalf despite my request to do so. When I called Portfolio Protection, they informed me that the technician did not call in the claim. Portfolio Protection Ever Drive 250 Limited Powertrain Coverage has an exception for injectors listed in the Mechanical paragraph as follows: Mechanical: This Limited Warranty does not provide coverage for service adjustments/cleaning, carburetor, throttle body assembly (except injectors), contaminated fuel system, water ingestion, air conditioning recharge, refrigerant, coolant, battery cables, belts, hoses, brakes (front hubs, drums, shoes, lining, disc rotors and pads), exhaust system, (...) etc. Portfolio Protection and Barber Honda Service Advisor will not acknowledge the exception for injectors clearly stated in the contract. I took the steps required in the contract to file a claim and spoke to multiple adjusters at Portfolio Protection and they refused to acknowledge the exception for injectors. Honda has extended the warranty on fuel injectors for other vehicles due to faulty injectors and incorrect installation during the assembly process as stated on Honda Service Bulletin 22-002. This is clearly an ongoing issue with Honda and needs to encompass all vehicles.

2018 Honda CR-V EX Shortly after purchasing my Honda CR-V in Feb 2018, I noticed a strong smell of gas when I changed the oil. I found a recall bulletin regarding fuel mixing with oil and worked with Honda to have a software update (Case #*******) in late 2018. Afterwards, the vehicle performed normally and has for a few years. Approximately 12 months ago every light on the instrumentation panel came on (Vehicle Stability, Adaptive Cruise Control, Tire Pressure monitoring, Collision avoidance, Lane Keep assist, etc) I used a code reader and found that the only hard code was P0172 “Fuel System Too Rich”. I reset the code and it came back the following day. I reset the code again and it came back 2 months later. Since then, the exact same code has shown up at least 6 times. It always occurs while the engine is running and I am idling, not when driving. Sometimes the dash warning lights clear automatically after a few days and sometimes I have to manually reset the P0172 code with a OBD tool. I have replaced the battery to ensure it wasn’t a low voltage issue, but it continues. While the code is set and all of the warning lights are present on the dash, none of the vehicle safety features work. Collision avoidance, Lane Keep assist, Adaptive Cruise Control. I do have an appointment scheduled with my local Honda Service Center for Oct. 2. Reading through TSBs and Customer complaints, I find hundreds of examples of this exact issue. I am concerned I will be billed $2K for a known issue with the fuel system in this vehicle. I recently purchased a 2023 Ridgeline and plan to give the CR-V to my 16 yr old son and I am also concerned about the reliability and safety systems on this vehicle. Please advise. Regards,

My 2018 CRV will intermittently have malfunctioning in which all warning indicators will go on flashing. The car seems to drive ok when this happens. Once in a while when this occurs, the car will not start, then eventually it will start again. I have taken to the Honda dealer several times regarding this issue. It was recommended to first fix the Power unit, which I have done around March 2023. In July 2023, the car started up again with all warning lights, once again the car seemed to run ok. I took it in again to Honda and was told that despite the issue, the car can been driven per usual and if I start to have any mechanical issues to bring it in. On September 9th 2023 the warning lights when on again and the car was not starting up. a few more attempts to start vehicle and it started and was running fine. Then the same day after the car was parked for about a half hr, the car would not start. There are numerous issues reported by other owners of the Honda CRVs with this issue. I believe this is a safety concern and Honda needs to create a recall like they did for the Honda pilots. Another issue I have is the AC takes a long time to cool and is not very cold. I live in a climate where the temperatures reach upper 90s and low 100s for 4 months out of the year. Repairs had been made soon after i purchased the vehicle, but the AC never really worked well.

My Honda CRV infotainment system is flashing on and off uncontrollably with the brightness setting and cannot stop. It is very distracting and dangerous to drive at night as the entire screen flashes on and off brightly and beeps. I have taken multiple videos of the incident and also sent it to the Honda Dealership where they have not fixed the issue. They only did a factory reset and the issue still happens daily. I am aware of a Honda service bulletin 19-066 that is describing this exact issue but it is not a recall so they will not update the faulty software to fix the issue. Very dangerous to drive with this issue.

Warning lights on the dashboard are all going on at once. Something like this happened intermittently with the ADAS system; occasionally they would all report a malfunction. When turning off the car and restarting the car, they would go away. Now all warning lights are going off at once. This poses a safety hazard because any real problem is obscured by the cacophony of false alarms. Other folks have reported this issue.

Alternating multiple System Problem messages lit up the Dashboard & a bell sounded. Took car to Honda dealer, diagnosis was faulty fuel injection system which needed to be replaced ( cost estimate $1500). Was told Parts are on back order, won’t be in for 4-6 weeks. Dealer advised not to drive vehicle. Dealer would not offer a loaner.

Display screen regularly & unexpectedly malfunctions while the vehicle is in motion. During these times, the display screen dims, goes dark, freezes, or goes into full bright mode. This continues throughout a cycle until the can can be stopped & restarted. Also, the windshield continues to crack along the base from side to side without any noticeable damages prior & I continue to have it replaced.

All the warning lights come on at random times for all these components: Adaptive Cruise Control Automatic Emergency Braking Blind Spot Warning Forward Collision Warning Lane Departure Warning Lane Keeping Assistance Parking Collision Warning Rear Cross Traffic Warning And the "ding, ding, ding" noise when the door is open also starts dinging. This has kept happening since we changed the battery last year. I have researched this issue on the internet and there are many CRV owners in the same situation. Some taken their vehicle into the dealerships and have paid thousands for "fixes" that don't work. Your agency really needs to look into this. This is an urgent safety issue since we can't have all these warnings going on at any time and when will we know there really is a problem?

Today, as I was driving my automatic braking system activated without need. There was no obstacle. It was a clear and sunny day. I was driving the speed limit of 50 mph. The brakes activated so hard that if I wasn’t wearing my seatbelt I would’ve been injured. Currently my neck and back do hurt but I did not seek medical attention. This has not happened before and I have owned this vehicle for over 2 years. I have not reported the incident to my dealership yet because it is Sunday and they are not open.

Driving on freeway at approx 65 mph when the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) notification flashed on the dash, and the car automatically hard braked on its own, while my foot was on the gas.Only lasted a few seconds but I felt the lag and it resumed back to normal. This is my second experience of this happening since purchasing the car in February of 2022. The first time however, was at a much slower speed (>20mph), and I did not notice the ACC indication beforehand. The vehicle hard braked while in traffic but resumed back to normal seconds after. I believe the brake indicator flashed on the dash the first time , despite being a fair distance behind the vehicle in front of me. The incidents were approximately 1 year apart from each other.

The manufacturer's technical support assisted the dealer in diagnosing that the electric steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the infotainment system would make abnormally loud beeping sounds, and the infotainment screen pad was engaging functions independently. The contact stated that the infotainment system failed to turn off upon turning off the vehicle. The dealer replaced the infotainment system; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the windshield had cracked without impact and was replaced. The contact also stated that upon opening the vehicle, the driver's seat would independently move significantly closer to the steering wheel. All the warning lights started displaying on the dashboard over the course of six months. One day they would all start coming up one at time, then when I would turn off the vehicle for an extended amount of time, they were no longer there. Finally at my oil change appointment I brought up the issue and I was told it was a fuel injector issue. Apparently they’ve had many CR-V owners come in with the same problems…over $1000 to repair!

I am so disppointed and frustrated. Exactly ONE year ago my 2018 CRV had power issues. Loss power, excessive and unsafe deceleration when driving on State Highway 20. Every warning light and driver assist notification light up on the dash. My car was jerking and I had to pull to the side of the road. Thankfully not to far from home and able to drive to the house but could not get over 20MPH. Took to the dealer, fuel pump replaced at MY COST. Here we are ONE yeat later and all dash board lights on again in similar fashion. Car is currently at dealer ship with noted need for fuel injectors. I find it peculiar and upsetting as having done research 2022 and now again 2023: there have been issues with fuel pump and fuel injectors reported on NHTSA, forums, to honda and articles about the recurrent issues with the 2018 CRV and Honda does not want to be responsible. There were some recalls of the 2018 CRV but my VIN# did not identify as one. The 2018 CRV has recurrent issues in this department. My car was part of the S/B 18-114 campaign to "fix" and issue reguarding the oil/fuel mixture and here my car is having issues that I feel are a result.

Component: Body Control Module (vehicle is sitting at the deanship). Safety of driver and 2 small children (6 year old and 18 month old) in back seat. First the remote start didn't work - that was okay, but driving down the highway 75South going home after pick up children the door locks kept going off and on, the windows kept going up and down (all windows). No warning whatsoever. However upon reading on internet the first sign of the body control module failure was when the battery kept dying and we replaced that at a cost of $200. Now we are told we can still drive the car while we wait for the part - which we are told could be 9 months to a year for the part, we would need to unhook the battery and hook it back up. Is this really what you tell a single mom, nursing student with two small children to do. What could happen if the wires a crossed and the car goes up in flames with children inside? Cannot afford to have a rental car for 9 months or more.

On multiple occasions, I have turned off my car and exited my car. The car would then turn back on by itself. Initially the dash would light up and an error message would appear saying key not found. I thought it was my key fob battery, so I replaced the battery and still received the message. I was unable to do anything with my car. This happened on several occasions, but each time it would eventually work. I then noticed that the dash kept coming on. When I would get home, I would park the car in the garage and turn the car off and go inside. I came out and noticed the lights were on and the dash lit up. I turned it off again and then sometimes it would stay off and other times it would come back on and I could not get it to turn off right away. Several times I would go to my car in the morning and my car battery was dead and I had to have my son-in-law jump my car or AAA had to come out so I could go to work. This went on for weeks until I realized it was because the car keeps turning back on on its own until the battery dies. After back and forth at the dealership and replacing other parts they thought were the issue, I am now told it is a faulty Body Control Module which caused my car to turn on in accessory mode. The part is on backorder, so I have had to borrow a car for the past couple months. My daughter has been researching the issue and found this to be a common problem with the car. Battery drain, car alarms going off, not able to start the car, etc. all due to the faulty BCM. I see Honda has had issues with this part on their other cars, but has not issued a recall for the CRV yet. The part is expensive, but because I have 41,000 miles on my car it is now out of warranty. This should be investigated further, as I know I am not the only one experiencing this issue.

While driving all dash lights warning started flashing disabling forward crash avoidance power steering stability control tire pressure everything is blinking and flashing. Had to pull to side of road and almost got run over

Feb 6, 2023

We had just gotten off the freeway and were sitting at a stoplight. When the light turned green, all of a sudden several of the yellow warning lights on the dashboard started to flash: emergency braking, electronic parking break, tire pressure, lane-keep assist, and others. The car became sluggish and moved forward haltingly and slowly. It feels like the breaks or the parking break are cycling on and off. We pulled over as soon as we could. Turning the car off didn't clear the warning lights. We called AAA and they came and checked the battery -- which was at 100% and working fine. The parking break works fine; we can hear it turn on and off using the lever. We had it towed to a Honda dealer nearby and are having it evaluated. It is undriveable in this state, and we are concerned that even if the dealer gets the warning lights to shut off, it could happen again at any time. There are reports all over the NHTSA website that this is a common issue -- please investigate!

Every component was flashing malfunctioning.WILL be taking it to dealer tomorrow.

Dec 30, 2022

Warning lights for multiple (possibly all) systems begin appearing and all ADAS including traction control is deactivated. The condition clears eventually in its own after fuel up, possibly several days later. Dealership attributes conditions to bad fuel injector with no other fuel related symptoms because the condition includes and engine code for either a faulty fuel injector or fault AC control module.

Dec 30, 2022

While driving (road trip 500 miles round trip), all the dashboard lights turned with no real indication of what the issues was. I pulled over to see if there was anything noticeable and did not see anything exteriorly nor once I opened the hood of the car. I continued my drive home (remaining 100 miles or so) and once I parked my car in driveway, I noticed a strong smell with black smoke coming from exhaust pipe with black oil at the end of my tailpipes. My car is currently at dealers getting looked at and they recommended changing my fuel injector and spark plugs, which they completed ($2,000) and I AM STILL having issues.!!! Doing my research online I noticed that there was a recall of this vehicle in China but not in the US, which is unacceptable. Something needs to be done ASAP!

I recently bought a 2018 Honda crv and have had ongoing issues with the touch display going on and off by itself. I took a video of it. It will randomly start blinking and beeping changing the brightness on the display. There is no way to shut it off or stop it without turning off the vehicle. I have also had issues with the automatic braking system. It is braking when it should not be. It has happened to me twice on the freeway now and once in town thankfully no one was behind me, or I would've been rearended badly and possibly been flipped in my vehicle. I was going 75 miles per hour, and it started flashing brake and then braked for no reason there was nobody in front of me. Another time it said I was skidding but I was not until it braked than I began to skid at which point it did nothing to stop the skid. I have recently skid on ice, in town and it did not do anything to stop it, nor did it respond. I have not taken the vehicle in yet. I was researching the issues to see if they were known issues with my vehicle. To my dismay they are. I bought this vehicle due to its safety features as I have my grandkids with me frequently. My Audi did not have the winter safety features I needed.

My vehicle computer started indicating that there was a critical brake failure and other related safety issues, this started after a brake repair at Middletown Honda. I returned to the dealer and they indicated that it’s the fuel injectors misfiring and need replacement. They also indicated that the spark plugs need replacement. I gave approval to replace the spark plugs and the vehicle ran well until I added fuel to the vehicle. then the problem returned. There’s currently a recall on Honda models 2014-2016 for the fuel injectors and I want this vehicle year to be included. Thank you

On October 10, 2022 I had brake work done and the computer system starting indicating failures. The computer electrical system continues indicating major failures while driving and the messages indicate critical failures throughout the vehicle. The brake fluid was lower than normal and once filled the lights went out. Then on October 20, 2022 the computer began indicating problems once again.

2018 CRV repeatedly had emergency brake amber light go on in the center of the dashboard. It goes on for a few seconds then shuts back off. This has been happening intermittently for the last two months. It has happened in the past(years ago) but there is no documentation of that complaint. Took vehicle to Honda dealership last week. Initially could not find what was wrong. Finally after hours of running tests? It came down to one code and that the issue was the electronic brake booster. The vehicle stayed overnight. After paying a large sum of money, 5 days later, the light turned on amber on the dash again. I called Honda Service repeatedly but could not reach the Service personnel that had assisted me 5 days previously. Finally talked to another service manager last evening at 6:00 p.m. Bringing car in first thing Friday Morning October 21st. One service manager stated that she had not seen this problem before. There are a few incidences that can be found on the internet with what appear to be simple fixes i.e. low brake fluid, air in line, problem with software, problem with a line to the display and still others. The end all was the issue was treated as a safety issue by one ,while another person stated something alluding to if it was a serious safety issue the warning light on the dash would have been red and not amber. In addition, yesterday when the light came on.(after the problem was purportedly repaired) I was doing about 40. There was a brief pause/resistance to the brake as I was slowing. This happened on a main thoroughfare at 0915 a.m. None of this has made ANY sense and I stated as such.

While driving all of the dash warning lights concerning the Honda Sensing System came on with malfunction warnings. This has happened multiple times since that first occasion but mostly occurs the first time the car is used that day. Sometimes turning the car off and on resets the problem. I have a video of the warning lights, and the malfunction was witnessed by my local mechanic. The dealership looked at the car at a time when the warning lights were not on and couldn't identify anything wrong with the vehicle. They assured me the car is safe to drive, but the Honda Sensing Package is deactivated.

Oct 10, 2022

All safety lights are showing on dash. This is NOT due to low battery power as it happened before and after replacement. I have reset the infotainment and even disconnected and reconnected the battery. The problem always comes back. I have been to two mechanics and spoken with a Honda dealer. No one has been able to fix the problem. Hill assist, cruise control, awd, and other electronic safety systems no longer work. I have seen multiple discussion boards where Crv owners are experiencing this major safety issue. There needs to be a recall and Honda needs to take ownership of this problem.

Honda CR-V 2018. Faulty camshaft. About August 7. While driving I had car act sluggish. Noticed my dashboard lights on. About a few weeks later about Sept 17 my car changed gears on me while driving. Sept 30 2022 had diagnostics done at dealer. I have a text. Per McDavid Honda of Plano TX. “We're done with the diagnostics, your vehicle had an intermediate failure on your Camshaft position sensor.” Avail for inspection. The sensor can cause safety risks as the car stalling while driving. Engine misfire. Transmission shifting issues. Car may not start. Car can jerk forward while driving as a result of an improper amount of fuel being injected into cylinders. Poor acceleration. First appeared in August. Had dealer review on about 8/25/22. Said they fixed it but it wasn’t fixed. 9/30/22 had dealer do diagnostics testing. Again they said it was fixed. It was not fixed. Having dealer look at it again 10/3/22. Warning signs include sensor lights on dashboard: engine light, emission system problem, brake system fail, parking sensor fail, tire pressure system problem, electric parking brake problem, auto high beam problem, road departure system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, collision mitigation system problem, hill start assist problem, vehicle stability problem, power steering system problem, brake hold system problem,

I was having multiple electrical issues with the car, malfunctioning radio, flashing etc. I had it checked out at Mahwah Honda and they stated no issues. Last week I was in an accident in which my car was deemed totaled. As I was crossing the intersection a car sped through a red light traveling at a high speed hitting my passenger side. This caused the passenger air bags to deploy (I was traveling alone) and the impact caused me to hit another car across the roadway. The driver side air bags did not deploy even though I hit another car. I do not understand why my air bags did not go off and do not recall if the on star worked as well. I do not know if this is all related to the electrical issues I reported which Honda dismissed.

There is an electrical issue with the car. On 07/14/2022, I took the car to the dealer for diagnosis of an electrical issue. The result of the diagnosis was a faulty Body control module. When the vehicle is shut off, the ignition spontaneously turns on and off and ultimately stays on. This kills the battery within a couple of hours. I have my own scan tool and plugged it to the OBD2 port. I attached the codes reported when I scanned it. I cannot drive it because the battery is currently dead and will go dead if I do drive it and shut it off for any considerable length of time. This has been such an inconvenience. The dealer couldn't even give me a rental while I wait for the parts to come in. I tried jumping the car to start it, but the problem still persists. I also have video documentation of the problem but couldn't upload it here.

I put my car in park after driving a short trip of approximately 12 miles. Every single system alarm warning was activated. The critical engine failure, brake failure, fluid level warning, acc/lane assist warning, etc all alarmed during the same incident. The warnings I listed are not all inclusive. There were several others that I don’t recall at this time. Basically every system warning was activated.

When driving the 2018 CRV, all dashboard warning lights appeared. This happened on three occasions and the Honda dealership indicated it was a known issue with this generation CRV where the fuel injectors would fail and trigger all warning lights. Honda has extended the warranty on a number of CRV’s from 2018 to cover the fuel injector failure, but the extension does not (at this time) apply to my particular CRV. I have asked the dealership and Honda corporate for assistance with no success. This is a dangerous known problem and Honda is not willing to recall the fuel injectors.

I get glitching electrical problem where it seems to be struggling to turn off. After several more attempts it finally goes off. Also the CRV has turned itself on in Accessory mode. And then one day alarm we t off. Go to the dealership and said that it’s BMC needs to change, and now it’s almost 4 months they said part is in back order and with in 2 months this issue goes too much that now my car is not started and useless seating in to the corner. No action or called recall because lot of crv people facing this Issue and still not replying helping us, i have faith on you and this is my truly last hope for getting my car started and i can go work.

Car has been through at least 3 batteries in 4 years, 2 in the 10 months I've had it. It did not have the original Honda battery in it when it was sold to me. It had 20,00 miles so the battery shouldn't of failed so soon. The alternator isn't charging it correctly at times and is most likely the reason for the battery failure.Ive had it tested twice at other shops and it came up as low output from the alternator but a good battery. I've provided the dealership with tons of videos and the test results, but they aren't interested and just say it's a defective battery. It's the 3rd battery and the current one is only a few months old. There is a class action lawsuit for my vehicle stating that Honda used underpowered batteries in 2017 to 2019 CRVs and has done nothing to rectify the issue. I've had it to 2 different dealerships and both seem to find no issue or blame it solely on the battery which isn't covered under my warranty. A battery should last years and not months. It's left us stranded no less than 6 times. I've had this car less than a year. Lawsuit claims Honda has known about the issues and has not disclosed then when selling the vehicles. I was never made aware of the issue.

As I was driving home from work, I tried to accelerate to merge onto the highway and my car would not go over 30-40 mph. It felt like it was going to stall. This could have caused a major accident. I was able to make it home. I took the 2018 honda crv to the dealer that night and was told that Turbocharger was broke. During this whole ordeal, the engine light did not come on once, nor leading up to this event. The dealer ran computer diagnostics and nothing came up. They had to take the car apart to find out what was wrong. Because the turbocharger had been broken, this also caused damage to the fuel injectors and they needed replaced. 25 days later, again on my way home from work, every single light and warning message is flashing on my dash, as if there is a battery problem. THERE WAS NO WARNING APPEAR PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. Took it back to the dealer and was told that there is blown head gasket, coolant leaking into the cylinder, no compression in cylinder. Luckily, nothing happened while I was driving. THIS NOW REQUIRES MY WHOLE ENGINE TO BE REPLACED. Seems due to driving with the malfunctioning Turbo, the original problem, WHICH I HAD NO IDEA OR WARNING LIGHT, damaged my car further. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE HONDA CRV 2018 SAFETY ONBOARD DIAGNOSTICS AND IN MY OPINION MALFUNCTIONED.

The forward collision sensor basically completely freaked out for no reason at all and when I applied the brakes to try to slow down and get off the road, the anti lock braking system activated and I could not slow the car down. Thankfully I was not near any other cars or obstacles or I would have been involved in an accident. I took the car to the dealer to be checked out and they were not able to replicate the issue. There were no prior warnings or messages before this happened, it was completely random and has happened several times.

The radio info system keeps turning off and on when driving. Also the brightness switch keeps doing the same thing. It is hard to drive when this hapens. Have to pull over and turn off the car and reboot the system. Service at dealship said Honda knows about this but cannot come up with a fix. At times it is unsafe to drive when this happens.

I have experienced the effects of a parasitic drain on the vehicle's battery which caused a premature failure. It's a known issue as the vehicle stability assist unit runs when the vehicle is off, which caused the premature failure. The Audio Display screen will occasionally start dimming, changing functions, and continually beeping. There are no warning messages or lamps connected with this failure; it just happens randomly. This can be very dangerous if one is using GPS as a navigational aid as I often do and the Audio Display screen fails at a critical time. This problem has been reported by many CR-V owners. Examples of the failure are on YouTube. I have reported the problem to my dealer and will be taking it in to see if they can fix it soon.

Online you can see everyone seems to have this problem to the point there's a class action suit going on I think. My battery died several times while still under warranty but the dealer said this is NORMAL for it to die after sitting for a week and some / many die after 3 days!! I feel this is VERY dangerous! What if it dies after say a trip and you're off site parked in a bad area? Or in bad weather? They did not replace and of course as soon as the warranty ran out it died for good and I had to replace it. I feel this should be looked into as a serious problem. Jim PS - I had reported a problem w/ the collision system a year or two ago....it's still fluky. Just this week it auto slammed on the brakes when I truck was on a bend in front of me so it thought I was going to hit him?? Then it happened on an Interstate! A vehicle coming on via the onramp triggered it at 70 MPH! Not a slam though but scary.

The vehicle has a "feature" which rolls down the windows automatically upon pressing the unlock button on the keyfob twice and then holding the button. On multiple occasions the windows have rolled down without the owner's knowledge when keys are carried in pockets, purses, etc. This is considered a safety issue due to risk of windows unrolling in inclement weather and damaging the interior, or due to risk of an unauthorized person obtaining access to the car by reaching through the now opened window and simply depressing the interior unlock button. There is no way to disable this capability.

I had been running errands, driving, made 2 stops. When I cranked the car at the 3rd stop, the Dashboard warning system lights all come on and won’t go off. This includes the TPMS System, Brake Failure warning light, Emergency Brake Light, Lane Assist, VSA warning, etc. The car was drivable, so I took it to the dealer in December 2020. They said battery was low and I bought a new one. October, 2021, it happened again. The battery was under warranty, so they changed it out for a new one. Today, 2 weeks later, November 2021, it happened again. The dealer is keeping it for diagnostics. No resolution yet. The vehicle has less than 25k miles, but of course not under warranty because it was purchased more than 3 years ago.

Grinding noises were heard in the car twice, before the engine stalled. The car was stopped in the middle of the intersection. Could not restart the car at all, and check engine lights were lit on the dashboard. After 5 minutes passed and after multiple tries to restart the car, the engine started and I was able to get to safety. Upon dealer inspection, the cause was the air condition compressor locking up, possibly due to a leak in the refrigerant. This is confirmed by the car blowing hot air even in AC mode. The lock up caused the engine to stall and go into fail safe mode. This meant the car was stopped and unable to restart in the middle of a busy intersection. Because the car's engine was stopped, it was not possible to get the car moving again. It was incredibly dangerous for me and my passengers, as well as other cars on the road. Even when the lights changed, I was still stuck. There were cars driving around my car, causing more potential traffic incidents. The engine was not able to be immediately restarted, which put multiple cars in traffic in danger for longer than necessary. The car is being serviced by Roush Honda (100 W Schrock Rd, Westerville, OH 43081). Prior to the failure, there were no warning signs and no other issues. This was a sudden and completely unexpected engine stall due to the AC Compressor Failure. This issue is common among CRV (2017 to 2020). https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t72370_ds1082603. There is also another NTSHA notice on this car related to the AC Compressor Leak. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10189868-0001.pdf Please recall this car. This issue puts everyone in an incredibly dangerous situation.

I've taken the vehicle to a mechanic four times for this problem, twice to a Honda dealership; the diagnosis each time has been a faulty fuel injector that spews gasoline into the oil. According to Consumer Reports, this problem has been common with the 2017 and 2018 models of this vehicle, and the Honda Co. agreed to extend the warranty on these models to cover the repair of a common problem among the models in these years. However, this visit to Honda of Bedford, Ohio, the dealership has kept the vehicle for four weeks because the Honda corporation refuses to repair a fuel injector that spews gasoline into the oil pan. The fuel injector was faulty but Honda won’t take responsibility. It’s a fire hazard as well as it could cause an accident when it loses power. especially in a high traffic area. My request is to compel the Honda Corporation to cover the cost of this repair in that the fuel injector in may of the 2017/2018 models were faulty from the factory. Our 2018 Honda CR-V SUV EX 2WD is a very good vehicle except we can't rely on it to start. Since buying it new in April, 2018 we have had to have it towed or jump-started six times because the battery has been drained. Many other owners seem to have similar problems; online it has become known as a "parasitic battery drain" problem. There are at least two class-action suits at present we know of concerning the same problem, one In Iowa, and another in Florida. Also on three different occasions we experienced the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems display flashing indicating some features are not working while driving -- for no apparent reason. However, the systems gradually return to normal after the vehicle has been stopped, re-started, and driven again for several miles. We don't know if the two issues are related (see NHTSA Complaint 11361514). Not being able to start in an out of cell-phone area or an unpopulated area is a serious safety concern. Additionally, I carry a portable, battery-powered oxygen concentrator that can't be recharged when the CR-V won't start and the battery is dead. We have records and documentation to support our CRV problems. We are on our third SUV battery - a top-of-the-line from AAA - and have been doing such obvious things as checking our garage nightly to make sure a dome light isn't on, etc. There are no preliminary cues that we have noted such as lights become dimmer, etc. prior to the non-starting times. Four of six times have been during daylight hours. On one occasion we were able to restart the vehicle using a portable lithium battery power pack; on another this booster failed to start the SUV and we had to call AAA. Our "home" Honda service center has sincerely tried but failed to diagnose the problem and neither was the major Honda garage in Albuquerque, NM able to this past summer. Two different complaints with Honda Motors of America remain unanswered as of today. Honda isn't supporting their dealerships.

On 9/7/2021 at 10am, my car (housed in a garage) would not start. It unlocked electronically, but when I put my foot on the brake pedal it felt soft and when I depressed the start button, nothing happened. Everything on the car was locked/frozen and would not respond. There were some alerts (related to brake failure) showing on the dashboard and the headlights and taillights were on. I was able to lock the car manually but the lights stayed on. I had it towed to the repair service, they found that the battery had only 8 volts. Nothing else looked unusual on the diagnostic. They had no explanation for the occurrence. The battery was original, Honda factory installed, 3 years old and the car has <7,000 miles on it. This happened very suddenly with no warning. Car had been functioning with no problems noted until then. Something had caused a sudden drain on the battery. (I had not left any lights on.) When I searched online for possible explanations, I found numerous reports of sporadic, sudden battery failures with recent Honda cars, as well as TSR from Honda asking to have removed batteries returned to them. This is a potential safety issue. What if it had occurred when parked on a street after dark when everything was closed? I believe Honda should acknowledge the problem and find a solution other than continually replacing the batteries.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle accelerated even though consumer was not depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact also stated that the touch screen display would not engage and allow the contact to use the screen. The contact also stated that the high beam headlights would independently flicker on and off. Additionally, the automatic cruise control warning light was illuminated on the control panel. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with nothing needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,466.

DRIVING ON CITY STREET AND INTERSTATE THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY GO OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST BUT HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM HOUSES THE GPS AND CLIMATE CONTROL (DEFROST) SYSTEM ALONG WITH THE CAR SETTINGS (ADAS) AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. WHEN YOU ARE DEPENDENT ON THE GPS FOR NAVIGATION AND YOU LOOSE THE DIRECTIONS YOU GO INTO A PANIC SITUATION TRYING TO FIGURE THINGS OUT. WHEN THE WINDSHIELD FOGS AND YOU CAN'T USE THE DEFROST SYSTEM IT BECOMES A VISIBILITY ISSUE. DEALERSHIP HAS UPDATED THE SOFTWARE BUT STILL CONTINUES TO HAPPEN.

THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TURNED ON (IDLE) IN DRIVEWAY WHEN ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS TURNED ON. 2 DAYS LATER, THEY ALL TURNED OFF. THEN 2 DAYS LATER THEY ALL TURNED ON AGAIN WHEN THE CAR WAS IDLE IN DRIVEWAY. MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON, INCLUDING POWER STEERING PROBLEM, HOWEVER, THE POWER STEERING IS FINE. CAR RUNS NORMALLY. I READ ONLINE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE HONDA 2017-2018 CR-V'S. MOST PEOPLE HAVE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY AT DEALERSHIPS AND NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT EXISTS IN MY 2018 HONDA CR-V. THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM ON MY HONDA WILL, ARBITRARILY, CYCLE THROUGH VARIOUS MENUS AND START BEEPING LOUDLY. THIS IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND DIVERTS THE DRIVER'S ATTENTION AWAY FROM THE ROAD. IT IS UNBELIEVABLY ANNOYING AND IT COMPLETELY DESTROYS A DRIVER'S SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ENDEMIC PROBLEM WITH THE 2017-2019 CR-V AS WELL AS OTHER HONDA MODELS. IT CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING AND NUMEROUS EXAMPLES OF THIS FAILURE MODE CAN BE FOUND ON YOUTUBE. HONDA, HAS SUGGESTED THAT THE SOFTWARE IS AT FAULT AND ISSUED AN UPDATE, BUT THIS HAS DONE NOTHING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY, I WRITE THIS LETTER IN THE HOPE THAT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY ADMINISTRATION TAKES ACTION AND INVESTIGATES THIS RECURRING PROBLEM. THERE ARE COUNTLESS STORIES ON HONDA FORUMS OF DRIVERS BEING DISTRACTED AND REMOVING THEIR ATTENTION FROM THE ROAD AS THE CENTER INFOTAINMENT SCREEN STARTS FLASHING AND BEEPING INCESSANTLY. ON THREE OCCASIONS I HAVE RETURNED TO MY PARKED CAR WHICH WAS LOCKED AND HAD ALL THE WINDOWS AND POWER SUNROOF CLOSED WHEN I LEFT IT, TO FIND ALL FOUR WINDOWS HALF WAY DOWN AND THE POWER SUNROOF THREE INCHES OPEN. ON TWO OF THESE OCCASIONS IT HAD RAINED BEFORE OR WAS BEGINNING TO RAIN UPON MY RETURN TO THE CAR AND SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE OCCURRED IF THE RAIN STORM HAD BEEN WORSE. THE THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED, MY CAR WAS PARKED IN A PUBLIC PARKING LOT AND THIS MALFUNCTION CREATED A SAFETY AND SECURITY RISK FOR MY FAMILY AND PROPERTY. THE HONDA CR-V MANUAL INDICATES THAT THERE IS A "FEATURE" WHERE IF A PERSON PRESSES THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB ONCE AND THEN PRESSES IT AGAIN AND HOLDS IT FOR A MINIMUM OF 10 SECONDS, ALL THE WINDOWS WILL BE LOWERED HALF WAY AND PARTIALLY OPENS THE SUNROOF. MY KEY FOB HOWEVER WAS NOT IN A PLACE WHERE THE UNLOCK BUTTON COULD BE PUSHED TWICE IN THIS PATTERN AND THESE INSTANCES WERE NOT DUE TO OPERATOR ERRORS. HONDA CURRENTLY DENIES KNOWLEDGE OF ANY SUCH ISSUE IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT MY WEB SEARCH FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BY OTHER CR-V AND CERTAIN ACURA OWNERS ABOUT EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP SAYS UNLESS THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM THEY ARE ADVISED BY AMERICAN HONDA THE PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST AND THEY CANNOT FILE ANYTHING WITH HONDA AMERICA REGARDING THE ISSUE. SINCE THIS IS A LOW OCCURRENCE RATE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, CUSTOMERS WILL FRUITLESSLY PAY HONDA TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION OF IT UNLESS HONDA IS FORCED TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND ADDRESS IT BY THE NHTSA. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST YOU DO WHATEVER IS IN YOUR POWER TO MAKE HONDA RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AS AT A MINIMUM, AN UNLOCKED VEHICLE ALLOWS FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF A CRIMINAL GAINING ACCESS AND BEING PRESENT INSIDE THE CAR WHEN THE OWNER RETURNS.

2018 HONDA CRV TOURING PURCHASE SEPTEMBER 8, 2018. CURRENTLY HAS 16,400 MILES. ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, I WENT OUT TO START MY HONDA CRV TOURING IN THE GARAGE. IT WOULD NOT START. I CALLED THE HELPLINE TO HAVE A TOWING COMPANY COME TO TAKE THE CAR TO BOB BRADY HONDA DEALERSHIP IN DECATUR ILLINOIS. I CALLED BOB BRADY HONDA SERVICE CENTER THEY TOLD ME TO JUST HAVE THE TOWING COMPANY JUMPSTART MY CAR AND DRIVE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. NOTE, THE TOWING COMPANY DRIVER INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS ABOUT THE 13TH HONDA 2018 2020 THAT HE HAS HAD TO JUMPSTART. SOME OF THE VEHICLES HE'S HAD TO REVISIT TO JUMPSTART. I DIDN'T DRIVE THE CAR AFTER COMING HOME THE REST OF THE DAY ON THURSDAY. THE CAR STARTED ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, AT 11:30 AM. THE HONDA STARTED ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18 AT 3:30 PM. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19, THE CAR STARTED AT 10:00 AM. THAT SAME DAY THE CAR STARTED AT 1:00 PM. ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 13, I WENT OUT TO TRY TO START MY CAR AT 7:00 AM. MY CAR WOULD NOT START! IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THEY WILL NOT JUST FLIP OUT THE BATTERY UNTIL THEY FIRST TRY TO CHARGE IT AGAIN TO SEE IF THAT HELPS THE PROBLEM. IT IS NOW DECEMBER 14, 2020 AND I AM GOING TO CALL THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED IN TODAY FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM OF THE BATTERY BEING DEAD! BOTH TIMES THAT THE CAR BATTERY DIED AS WELL IT WAS SITTING IN MY HEATED GARAGE. I'M NOT ABLE TO TAKE ANY PHOTOGRAPHS ON A DEAD BATTERY. ON SATURDAY 2/29/2020 I WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON HIGHWAY 183 HERE IN AUSTIN TEXAS AT 68 MPH WHEN MY DRIVER DOOR OPENED. IT DIDN'T FLY ALL THE WAY OPEN BUT IT WAS AJAR ABOUT 4 TO 5 INCHES. I HELD THE DOOR AS CLOSE TO CLOSED AS I COULD WHILE DRIVING WITH THE OTHER HAND TO REACH A SAVE STOP IN ORDER TO CLOSE MY DOOR. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR A YEAR AND 8 MONTHS AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED BUT IT IS SCARY NONETHELESS. I WAS ABOUT 19 MILES INTO MY TRIP TO WORK THAT DAY. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND THAT WAS NO ALERT THAT MY DOOR WAS OPENED PRIOR TO IT OPENING. THERE WASN'T EVEN A ALERT ONCE IT BECAME OPEN AND I NOTICED BECAUSE I COULD HEAR THE AIR AND THE DOOR WAS MOVING. THE DOOR LOCK MECHANISM STILL SHOWED THE DOOR LOCKED BEFORE I UNLOCKED IT AND CLOSED THE DOOR. WHILE IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN. I WOULD STILL APPRECIATE THIS TO BE LOOKED INTO.

THE IGNITION IS KEYLESS. I PRESSED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND IT SHUT OFF. BUT I FORGOT TO SHIFT INTO PARK. I EXITED THE CAR. THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD. I RAN BACK TO IT, JUMPED IN AND SHIFTED TO PARK, STOPPING THE CAR. IF I HADN'T NOTICED AND STOPPED THE CAR, SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE BEEN HURT. WHEN YOU STOP THE ENGINE, THERE SHOULD BE AN AUTOMATIC SHIFT TO PARK OR AN AUTOMATIC ACTIVATION OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE.

I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY CRV, MOST RECENTLY A COMPLETE MALFUNCTION WHERE CAR DID NOT GO OVER 10 MPH AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALL FLASHING ON ALERT. HONDA MECHANICS TOLD ME THIS WAS MY FAULT FOR OVERFILLING MY OIL TANK. WANTED TO CHARGE ME $2500 FOR A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER. AFTER MUCH NEGOTIATING THEY LOWERED COST. HOWEVER I HAVE SINCE SEEN THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED AS SUCH. *TR

DURING THAT 3RD TIME WE ALSO HAD 4 WARNINGS: ACC, LKAS, CMBS AND RDM. I HAD AMBER AND RED WARNING LIGHTS SHOWING THE BRAKE SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE, ACC & FORWARD COLLISION WARNING ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF FOR 30 MINS. I VERY WELL COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. I SAW NO OBSTRUCTION ON THE ROAD. 3 TIME WHILE DRIVING ON THE FWY 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED, LANE CONTROL ACTIVATED, AND THE DISTANCE SET TO MINIMUM, WITH NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME, THE CAR DETECTED THE CAR TO THE RIGHT OF ME AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, AND CAUSING THE PERSON BEHIND ME TO SLAM ON THEIR BRAKE ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENED BETWEEN APRIL OF 2019 AND OCT OF 2019. WHEN I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS DIRT ON THE MILLIWAVE RADAR, FOUND CODE P2583-97, I FOUND THIS TO BE HIGHLY UNLIKELY BECAUSE THE CAR WAS SPOTLESS. THE SECOND TIME I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. WHEN ASKED HOW THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR THEY SAID THEY DROVE IT 10 MILES DOWN A BOLSA CHICA RD. I TOLD THE SEVICE PERSON THAT THAT WAS NOT THE SAME CONDITIONS AS I WAS DRIVING AND THAT THEY COULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THE CAR UP TO 65 MPH WHEN THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 45 MPH AND IT WASN'T A FWY. HER RESPONSE WAS WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE CARS ON THE FWY. I SAID THEN HOW ARE YOU DO DUPLICATE THE CONDITION OF THE PROBLEM. THIS CAR HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR MULTABLE ELECTRONIC ISSUE, NONE OF WHICH HAVE BEEN SOLVED YET. ALL I GET IS THE SAME ANSWER, CANT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS CAR HAS HAD THESE PROBLEMS SINCE IT WAS SOLD NEW AND THE PERSON BEFORE ME TURNED THIS CAR IN WITH ONLY 8000 MILES ON IT FOR A NEW CAR THAT THEY COULD TRUST. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AD COULD CAUSE ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THATS NOT MY FAULT.

WHILE DRIVING ON SLICK ROADS I WAS USING BLUEOOTH TO HAVE A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION. A CAR SWERVED IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING ME TO SWERVE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE BLUETOOTH DISENGAGED AND I HEARD THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY CLICK TO LOCK (THEY WERE ALREADY LOCKED). I ASSUME THESE ARE BUILT IN SAFETY FEATURES. WHEN I CAME TO A STOP, THE ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCK OVERRODE THE MANUAL LOCK FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK; I COULD NOT EXIT THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I TRIED MANY TIMES TO USE THE FOB OR TO MANUALLY UNLOCK THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO NO AVAIL.I HAD TO EXIT USING THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK REFUSED TO WORK UNTIL I USED THE PHYSICAL KEY TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. USING THE PHYSICAL KEY APPEARED TO RE-SET THE ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCK SYSTEM AND IT THEN WORKED NORMALLY.

MY 2018 CR V HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM 5 TIMES. BASICALLY ON MY MORNING COMMUTE FROM NORCO TO LOS ANGELES I SPORADICALLY GET AN ERROR MESSAGE, ROAD MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE SYSTEM PROBLEM ALONG WITH A BRAKE LIGHT CYCLE THROUGH MY DASHBOARD AND ALL THESE SYSTEMS FAIL TO WORK. THIS WILL LAST THE REST OF MY COMMUTE AND ALL LIGHTS ARE OFF WHEN I DRIVE HOME LATER ON IN THE DAY. THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES I BROUGHT THE CAR IN, THEY SENT IT HOME WITH ME BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT FIND ERROR CODES, PROBLEM STILL PRESENT. FINALLY THIS LAST TIME THE TECHNICIAN ADJUSTED SOME CAMERAS TO SEE IF THAT COULD FIX THE PROBLEM, IT DID NOT. MY CAR IS STILL IN YOUR SHOP AT PENSKE ONTARIO AND THE TECHNICIAN WHO CALLED ME YESTERDAY SAID THIS IS A NORMAL FEATURE OF THIS CAR, AND THE HONDA HOTLINE DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM REPORTED. HE INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR IS PICKING UP SOMETHING THAT IS CAUSING IT TO FAIL. MY COMMUTE IS AT 4AM ON A NON BUSY FREEWAY, I HAVE NOT NOTICED CONSTRUCTION NOR MAJOR ROAD DAMAGE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IF THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE THE PROBLEM, I DRIVE THIS COMMUTE A LOT AND THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN THEN. THIS SOUNDS LIKE THEIR IS NO SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM AND I AM GIVEN A GENERIC ANSWER. I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH AND I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON EXPERIENCING THIS WITH THE CR V. THE DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THEY WILL BE DOING NOTHING FURTHER FOR MY PROBLEM. THIS HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES

VEHICLE ROLLED OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND HIT A TREE CAUSING SIGNIFICANT REAR DAMAGE (THANKFULLY DID NOT HIT ANY OTHER VEHICLE OR PEDESTRIAN). BROUGHT TO HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING ALTHOUGH I EXPLAINED THAT THE WARNING INDICATORS WORK INTERMITTENTLY. FINALLY ON 10/2/19 I VIDEOTAPED AN INCIDENT WHERE IT DID NOT ALERT ME IN ANYWAY WHEN I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND LEFT IN THE DRIVE GEAR (IMAGES FROM VIDEO ATTACHED). REOCCURRING ISSUE OF THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN EITHER FREEZING OR GOING BAZERK WHILE DRIVING. EITHER NOTHING WORKS, INCLUDING THE POWER BUTTON TO TURN THE WHOLE DISPLAY OFF, OR THE BUTTON WORKS, CUTS THE DISPLAY OFF AND THE RADIO CONTINUES TO PLAY, OR THE DISPLAY STARTS FLASHING BETWEEN SCREENS, ADJUSTING THE BRIGHTNESS, BEEPING CONTINUOUSLY AND SOMETIMES MAKING PHONE CALLS ALL WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO STOP IS TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND CUT THE CAR OFF. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE POSTING HERE..... WHO KNOWS HOW MANY PEOPLE AREN'T GOING THRU THIS PROCESS TO REPORT. ISN'T THIS DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING DANGEROUS ENOUGH TO BE INVESTIGATED AND PROVIDE FOR A RECALL. A MINI SCHOOL BUS WAS HEADING IN THE OTHER DIRECTION ABOUT 2 CAR LENGTHS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD MY TWO GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR BREAKED HARD SENDING ALL MY THINGS ON THE FLOOR AND SCARRING MY GRANDDAUGHTERS. I WAS SHAKEN MYSELF BEING NEARLY REAR ENDED BY THE CAR BEHIND ME. I TOOK IT IN TO ATLANTIC HONDA, AND WAS TOLD ' NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND ON THE COMPUTER AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE'. 'NEVER HAD ANYONE COMPLAIN OF THIS'. I ALSO ADVISED THEM, THE BREAK LIGHT FLASHES 'OUT OF THE BLUE' WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH NO OTHER CARS AROUND. TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON A ONE WAY STREET IN CITY TRAFFIC WITH NOBODY IN FRONT OF ME AND SEVERAL BEHIND ME, AS I WAS GOING THROUGH A SIGNAL LIGHT INTERSECTION THE CRV WENT INTO COLLISION ALERT WITH A WARNING ON THE DASH AND BEEPING, IT SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. THERE WAS NOBODY IN FRONT OF ME OR COMING FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE CROSS STREET. THIS HAS HAPPEN ONE TIME BEFORE WHEN I WAS PASSING THROUGH A CONSTRUCTION ZONE AND ONE LANE HAD CONES CUTTING A TWO LANE DOWN TO ONE LANE. IT AGAIN SLAMMED AN THE BRAKES AS IF I WAS LEAVING THE ROAD. I ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE AUTO DIMMING HEADLIGHTS THAT DIM WHEN THEY SHOULD NOT AND GO TO BRIGHT SOMETIMES WHEN MEETING TRAFFIC AND SHOULD BE DIM. I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS ALSO MORE THAN ONE TIME AND THEY COULD NOT REPEAT THE PROBLEM. I ALSO GET RANDOM MESSAGES THAT POWER HAS BEEN LOST TO MY INFORMATION CENTER (PICTURES INCLUDED). THE NAVIGATION/INFOTAINMENT DISPLAY WORKS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, IT BECOMES UNUSABLE AND ALSO JUST BLACKS OUT SO IF YOU ARE USING THE NAVIGATION WHILE DRIVING IT BECOMES INOPERABLE AND THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT IT IS TO PULL OVER TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT WHICH IS DANGEROUS. HONDA HAS STATED THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT HAVE NO SOLUTION YET.

Jun 6, 2019

THERE ARE RECURRING PROBLEMS WITH THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM DISPLAY: 1. NUMEROUS TIMES THE DISPLAY HAS GONE FULL FREAK-OUT WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THE DISPLAY TURNS ITSELF ON AND OFF, ATTEMPTS TO ADJUST ITS OWN BRIGHTNESS AND REPEATEDLY BEEPS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE MADNESS IS TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. THIS IS A TOTALLY UNCOOL THING TO HAPPEN WHEN ONE IS TRYING TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE TRAFFIC AROUND THEM. PLEASE ALSO REFERENCE NHTSA COMPLAINT #11132814 FOR THIS SAME VEHICLE. 2. EVEN THOUGH THE TOUCH SCREEN SENSITIVITY IS SET THE HIGHEST LEVEL, SOMETIMES YOU MUST PRESS THE 'CYBER BUTTONS' REPEATEDLY BEFORE THE UNIT REGISTERS THAT YOU HAVE PRESSED A BUTTON. WHILE I AM MOTORING DOWN THE ROAD PRESSING FAUX BUTTONS 10-15 TIMES TO TRY TO GET THE UNIT TO DO SOMETHING GUESS WHERE MY EYES ARE NOT'YEAH, ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME WHERE MY EYES SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT MY INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM DISPLAY/CONTROL UNIT IS WORKING PER SPEC.

AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN RANDOMLY STARTS FLASHING AND BEEPING. WITH THE BRIGHTNESS CONTROL BAR POPPING UP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN. THIS IS VERY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIME WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO TURN THE CAR OFF. THIS IS A BIG SAFTEY ISSUE FOR SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE AND IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT FOR SOMEONE. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN RANDOMLY I BELIVE IT MAY HAPPEN WHEN THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS ACTIVATED AND THE CAR HAS AN ANDROID PHONE ATTACHED HOWEVER I AM UNABLE TO REPLICATE IT. IT HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES. MY VEHICLE HAS 8000 MILES ON IT. ADDITIONALLY THERE ARE REPORT ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS HAS HAPPEND TO OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL. I REPORTED THIS BY TELEPHONE TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT HONDA AS WELL 0N 05/30/2019 . I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE THAT ONETIME THIS WINTER I STARTED THE CAR AND THE SUNROOF AUTOMATICALLY OPENED AND COULD NOT BE CLOSED FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR. LUCKILY IT WAS NOT RAINING OR SNOWING THAT DAY. IT IS VERY DISTRACTING BECAUSE IT IS CONSTANTLY BEEPING WHILE IT IS TRYING TO MAKE THIS ADJUSTMENT. I TRIED TURNING THE RADIO OFF, THIS DID NOT HELP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTOPARK HONDA (LOCATED AT 3630 OLD RALEIGH RD, CARY, NC 27511, (919) 467-4747) FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE OIL DILUTION WITH FUEL DUE TO A SOFTWARE SETTING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THERE WOULD BE A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500.

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT NIGHT THE ENTIRE DISPLAY (HEAD UNIT) WITH THE MAP WENT OFF, CAME BACK ON AND THEN STARTED TO BEHAVE ERRATICALLY. I HEARD BEEPING SOUNDS AS IF SOMEONE WERE ACTUALLY TOUCHING THE SCREEN, THE BRIGHTNESS TURNED UP AND DOWN BY ITSELF AS WELL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TESTED IT AND SAID THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. I TOLD THEM THAT I HAD VIDEOS FROM WHEN IT HAPPENED TO CLEARLY ILLUSTRATE THE PROBLEM BUT THEY WERE NOT EVEN INTERESTED IN SEEING THE VIDEOS. THEY ASKED ME TO RETURN IF IT SHOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. HOWEVER NONSENSICAL THIS RESPONSE, I WILL TAKE THEM UP ON THIS OFFER. I WONDER WHAT GUARANTEE THEY HAVE THAT THEY WILL BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. IF THEY CAN'T, WHATEVER THEY ARE PROPOSING TO DO THEN I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO WHEN I TOOK IT IN.

WHILE DRIVING THE CR-V DOWN THE COUNTRY ROADS IN MY AREA THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE AND LOOSE POWER. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WHILE TRYING TO FIND A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OFF THE VEHICLE BEGAN LOOSING POWER. WITH THE GAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO ABOVE FIVE MILES AN HOUR. FINDING A LOCATION TO PULL OVER. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND THE ENGINE WAS CRACKLING AND SMELLED LIKE IT WAS BURNING. GETTING OUT OF VEHICLE FOR SAFETY REASONS ALLOWED SHOWED THAT THE SMELL WAS WORSE ON THE OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DEEMED IN OPERABLE. THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A LOANER; HOWEVER, I AM PAYING FOR A VEHICLE THAT CANNOT BE DRIVEN. THIS VEHICLE WAS ONLY OFF THE LOT FOR THREE MONTHS WITH LESS THAN 800 MILES.

I WAS DRIVING TO HONDA DEALER ON MARCH 6, 2019 FOR MY SECOND OIL CHANGE AS A RESULT OF ME CALLING THE DEALERSHIP AND TELLING THEM MY OIL SMELLED LIKE IT HAD GAS IN IT AGAIN. THIS IS WITH LESS THAN 700 MILES SINCE THE FIRST OIL CHANGE THAT I HAD DONE ON FEBRUARY 13, 2019. MY FIRST OIL CHANGE WAS WITH 4525 MILES, THIS WAS DONE AS PART OF A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. ON THIS MARCH 6TH TRIP I WAS ABOUT 40 MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND MY ACC (ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL) SHUT DOWN, THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM AND ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM LIGHTS ALL CAME UP ON DASH OF CAR AND KEPT SCROLLING ON DASH. WHEN MY CAR DID THIS I WAS UNSURE, FELT UNSAFE AND WAS FRUSTRATED AS NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON AND HOW MANY MORE PROBLEMS I AM GOING TO HAVE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I FOUND A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER AND CALLED THE DEALER AND TOLD HIM WHAT WAS GOING ON, HE SAID THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE BUT THOSE SYSTEMS THAT WERE SCROLLING ON DASH WEREN'T OPERATING. IT WAS 6 F OUTSIDE A CLEAR ROAD AND A SUNNY DAY IN NORTH DAKOTA. AFTER THE OIL CHANGE, I WAS TOLD THE OIL WAS HIGH AND THAT THERE WAS AGAIN GAS IN MY OIL AGAIN. AT THIS POINT I AM BEYOND FRUSTRATED AND WONDERING HOW MANY MORE PROBLEMS I WILL BE HAVING WITH THIS NEW VEHICLE AND THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO ME IS 100 MILES AWAY, WHICH CAUSES ME TIME AND EXPENSE TO GET TO DEALERSHIP. THIS ALSO CAUSES ME TO WONDER HOW RELIABLE THIS NEW VEHICLE CAN BE IN NORTH DAKOTA IN THE WINTER TIME AS ALSO NOT GETTING MUCH HEAT OUT OF THE HEATING SYSTEM EITHER, SO BETWEEN THE HEAT, THE GAS IN THE OIL AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS I AM NOT FEELING THAT THIS IS A SAFE DEPENDABLE VEHICLE TO DRIVE, AS A PERSON COULD FREEZE TO DEATH IF ENDED UP STRANDED WHEN THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AND NO HEAT, LIKE IT DID WHEN I HAD MY APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL ON 2-12-19 AND IT HAD TO BE PUT ON FLAT BED TRUCK TO GET RECALL DONE.

HONDA WON'T FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. A TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF CAR AND BACK ON. THE ACTIVE SAFETY AND DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEMS RANDOMLY SWITCH THEMSELVES ON AND OFF WHILE IN MOTION AND ARE UNRELIABLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT BOTH HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. IT HAS HAPPEN IN NORMAL DRIVING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND COLD WITH SNOW FLURRIES. THIS VEHICLE FAILS TO WARM TO TO "NORMAL" OPERATING TEMPERS ESPECIAL ON MN COLD DAYS. IT MAY NOT WARM UP PERIOD ON DAYS WHERE THE TEMPERATURE FALL TO 15 DEGREES OR LOWER. ON DAYS OF 50 DEGREES OR LESS IT WARMS UP WHEN DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS BUT IN LOW SPEED SITUATIONS IT MAY NOT WARM UP AT ALL. THERE IS THE DISTINCT SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE CAR AT TIMES. ADDITIONALLY THIS VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE AN OIL DILUTION PROBLEM AS THE OIL LEVEL REGISTERS ABOVE THE MAX OIL LEVEL LINE ON A REGULAR BASIS. IN MY MIND THESE ARE ALL SAFETY ISSUES. I WONDER IF THE SAFETY SYSTEMS WILL ACTUALLY WORK IF AND WHEN I NEED THEM. I WONDER IF THIS CAR IS GOING TO BURST INTO FLAMES AS I CAN SMALL GASOLINE IN THE CABIN. IF I SMELLED GAS IN ME HOUSE THEY RECOMMEND I LEAVE THE PREMISES. I CAN'T REALLY DO WITH I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I DO HAVE A FEW PICTURES OF SOME OF THE ELECTRONIC WARNING AND TEMP GAUGE BUT CANNOT DOWNLOAD FROM THIS LOCATION. I AM LISTING HERE THE FIRST INCIDENCE BUT KNOW THERE ARE A FEW INCIDENCES.

WE HAVE A 2018 HONDA CR-V TOURING AND HAVE RECENTLY HAD A CRITICAL PROBLEM WITH ITS COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM. ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE CAR HAS BRAKED WHEN NOTHING WAS IN FRONT OF IT. BOTH INSTANCES HAPPENED AT DUSK/EVENING; HOWEVER, THE MOST RECENT EXPERIENCE WAS THE MOST SEVERE. I WAS ACCELERATING ON A ROAD AND GOING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN I PASSED UNDER AN OVERPASS/BRIDGE. SUDDENLY, AS I WAS ACCELERATING, THE CAR BRAKED AND SLOWED FROM 45-50 MPH DOWN TO 15-20 MPH IN ABOUT FIVE SECONDS. THE SEVERE BRAKING CAUSED EVERYTHING TO FLY OFF MY SEATS, MY SEATBELT TO LOCK, AND GAVE ME WHIPLASH. LUCKILY, THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND ME; OTHERWISE, I AM SURE I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR-ENDED. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO MY HONDA DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE SENSOR MAY HAVE DETECTED THE SHADOW FROM THE BRIDGE OR PERHAPS RAIN DROPS ON THE ROAD. I ASKED IF THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THEY SAID OTHER DEALERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR CASES. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM EVERY TIME WE START THE CAR. CURRENTLY, HONDA DOES NOT OFFER ANOTHER SOLUTION.

I BOUGHT A 2018 HONDA CR-V (1.5L TURBO ENGINE) IN AUGUST. IT ONLY HAS 1700 MILES, BUT SO FAR IT HAS STALLED ON ME 3 TIMES (WHILE DRIVING). THE FIRST 2 TIMES, I WAS UNDER 25 MPH AND IT STARTED STALLING. SEVERAL LIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD CAUTIONING ENGINE FAILURE, BRAKE FAILURE, TIRE PRESSURE FAILURE, ETC. THE CAR WAS MAKING PINGING NOISES WHILE THESE LIGHTS WERE FLASHING AND IT WOULDN'T DRIVE ANY LONGER. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE ME TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE 3RD TIME THIS HAPPENED, I WAS GOING ALMOST 40MPH AND IT STALLED AGAIN (SAME AS BEFORE). THE CAR WAS ALSO SHAKING AND STUTTERING WHILE SIMPLY SITTING IDLE. HONDA SAID THAT THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR (CPK) WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED IT...HOWEVER, THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN I ASKED HONDA IF THIS STALLING ISSUE WAS RELATED TO ARTICLES DESCRIBING THE ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH THIS MAKE/MODEL (IN RECENT YEARS), THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AND SAID THEY COULDN'T COMMENT BECAUSE IT WASN'T A "HONDA ARTICLE". I'M SURE I'M NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER THAT HAS COME TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THIS PROBLEM...YET, THEY REFUSE TO ADDRESS THAT IT'S A SERIOUS PROBLEM. THEY ALSO HAVE NOT DECLARED A RECALL. THIS IS A SERIOUS LIFE-THREATENING SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN THE CAR STALLED, I WASN'T ON THE EXPRESSWAY, BUT ON LOCAL ROADS; HOWEVER, I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANYMORE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT'S GOING TO STALL AGAIN. HONDA HAS GIVEN NO ASSURANCES THAT THEY KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS OR CAN EVEN FIX IT.

ON 12/21/18, I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT STARTED FLASHING ALL KINDS OF ALERTS ON THE DASHBOARD. THE CAR WOULD NOT START. DOOR LOCKS, TAILGATE WOULD NOT CLOSE VIA REMOTE OR OR BY PRESSING THE BUTTONS FOR THESE FUNCTIONS. NO INDICATION THAT THE LIGHTS WERE LEFT ON. 2 HOURS PRIOR THE CAR STARTED WITHOUT ISSUE. TOW WAS REQUESTED. TOW TRUCK DRIVER GAVE THE BATTERY A JUMPSTART AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE THE CAR RUNNING FOR 30 MINUTES WHILE THE SYSTEM RESET. THE SYSTEM DID NOT RESET. DASHBOARD ALERTS FOR TPMS PROBLEM, BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEM, BRAKE HOLD PROBLEM AND VEHICLE STABILITY ASSISTANCE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO FLASH. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT HOME IN DRIVEWAY FROM THE PREVIOUS EVENING. WE MOVED IT FORWARD TWO HOURS PRIOR TO ALLOW SPACE TO ROLL OUT OR TRASH CANS FOR GARBAGE COLLECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE ON JULY 30TH 2018 AND HAS 8322 MILES ON IT. NEVER EXPECTED TO HAVE AN ISSUE OF THIS SORT WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM KEATING HONDA IN CONROE, TX. SINCE DAY 1 I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY LCD SCREEN THAT CONTROLS THE AUDIO AND CLIMATE. DEALERSHIP AWARE BUT HAD ISSUES WITH GETTING LOANER SO UNABLE TO DROP OFF FOR REPAIR. THE SCREEN WOULD FLICKER AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING OR "AUDIO ISN'T RESPONDING" ERROR SHOWS UP AND BOTH LCD SCREENS GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. CAR STALLS WHEN GOING UP PARKING RAMP, CAR DIES AT INTERSECTION, CAR DOES NOT SENCE OBJECTS WHEN IN REVERSE, A BLUE LINE APPEARS WHEN RAINING AND I REVERSE OBSTRUCTION VIEW, ELECTRONICS FREEZE AND UNABLE TO USE TOUCH SCREEN...USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN RAINING CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. BRAKES FAILED (PEDAL FROZE) IN REVERSE. SALESMAN SAID TO LET IT HAPPEN SEVERAL MORE TIMES BEFORE MAKING A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE CAR HAS BEEN A PROBLEM EVER SINCE I GOT IT EARLIER THIS YEAR...THERE IS ONLY 4,000 MILES ON IT AND SO FAR, THEY CHANGED THE BATTERY...EXPLANATION I WAS GIVEN IS THAT HONDA HAS BAD BATTERIES. THIS AFTER CHANGING OIL ONE WEEK PRIOR AND SERVICE REPORT INDICATED GOOD BATTERY. ONE WEEK AFTER SERVICING, THE CAR DIED AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE SERVICE PEOPLE AT HONDA SAID IT WAS ALL DUE TO A BAD BATTERY. BRAKES FAILED DUE TO BAD BATTERY???? STILL HAVING PROBLEMS, CAR IS STALLING, PANEL FREEZES, SENSORS DON'T WORK...SALESMAN SAID NO LOANERS AVAILABLE AND IF YOU WANTED A LOANER WHEN YOU SERVICE CAR, SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A LEXUS OR BMW. THIS AFTER I DESCRIBED ALL THE PROBLEMS. REALLY UNHAPPY WITH THIS CAR. I BELIEVE IT'S A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. .BRAKES FAILED, PANEL FREEZES, CAR STALLS...HELP!!!!! NOTE THIS HAPPENED AS RECENTLY AS 10/5/18 BUT REALLY IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD THIS CAR. I HAD IT TOWED ONCE WHEN A LIGHT FLASHED, "BRAKE FAILURE" AND I WAS UNABLE TO START THE CAR. WITH MY SMARTPHONE CONNECTED TO THE AUDIO/INFORMATION SCREEN (INFOTAINMENT PANEL) VIA USB PORT IN THE CENTER CONSOLE FOR THE USE OF IOS MAPS FOR NAVIGATION, I RECEIVED AN INCOMING PHONE CALL. THE VOLUME OF THE RING THROUGH THE VEHICLE SPEAKERS WAS SO LOUD THAT MY BODY INSTINCTIVELY AND INVOLUNTARILY REMOVED MY HANDS FROM THE STEERING WHEEL TO PROTECT MY EARS BY COVERING THEM. AT THAT POINT, I HAD COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL OF THE MOVING VEHICLE! IT CREATED AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM LATER, I FOUND THAT THE VOLUME OF INCOMING CALLS IS A FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE; NOT THE SMART PHONE WHEN USED IN THIS FASHION. THE VOLUME MUST BE ADJUSTED BY USE OF THE INFOTAINMENT PANEL VOLUME KNOB (OR MAYBE STEERING WHEEL VOLUME ADJUST?) WHILE THE CALL IS INCOMING. TO HAVE THE DEFAULT INCOMING CALL SETTING AT A VOLUME LEVEL THAT WOULD CAUSE A DRIVER'S HANDS TO INVOLUNTARILY COVER THEIR EARS WHILE IN MOTION SEEMS TO BE RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT. I WAS NOT ADVISED VERBALLY OR IN WRITING THAT THIS VOLUME WOULD NEED TO BE ADJUSTED OR THAT IT COULD CAUSE A HAZARDOUS CONDITION. MY HEARING HAS NEVER SEEMED OVERLY SENSITIVE TO LOUD NOISE.
