I took the car to get serviced 3 times because the battery was being drained and it left me stranded on the side of the road . I had to look up the technical service bulletin myself before the dealership would update the software on the car. It should have been recalled back in 2019 when they knew about the problem. it left my elderly mother stranded 3 times and it took me having to figure it out myself to fix the problem. the problem was the peristaltic drain on the battery when you set the parking brake after turning the car off which caused the car to not start.

All the dashboard warning lights came on. The car became shaky, wouldn’t go above 10mph. All safety features were turned off. I couldn’t go up a hill. Eventually I just parked it and had it towed. I tried a hard reset thinking maybe a glitch. Didn’t help.

Electrical System problem //I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding a recurring and serious issue with my 2019 Honda CR-V. Multiple dashboard warning lights turn on simultaneously without clear explanation. These lights are extremely distracting while driving and present a significant safety concern. What’s even more troubling is that we have no idea why these lights are coming on. This uncertainty puts us in a dangerous situation—driving without knowing whether the vehicle might stall, break down, or suffer another critical failure at any moment.Given that this appears to be a common issue among other CR-V owners, I strongly believe that Honda should take responsibility. At the very least, owners should be provided one free diagnostic service at an authorized dealership to determine the cause—especially if it’s related to a manufacturing or system defect. The stress and anxiety this has caused are considerable. In fact, the distraction caused by these lights nearly led to an accident. I hope NHTSA will take this matter seriously and offer support to affected customers before someone gets seriously hurt.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. While the contact’s husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost power and shut off. The driver inspected the vehicle and noticed that there was corrosion on the battery terminals. The battery was replaced by the husband. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the parts were on back order. Another dealer, Honda of Valley Stream (164 E Sunrise Hwy, Valley Stream, NY 11581); confirmed that because the parts were on back order, an appointment could not be scheduled. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure related to the recall. The failure mileage was unknown.

Defective Body Control Module (BCM) required replacement after only 23,000 miles. It is not available for inspection as dealership disposed of it. This defective part prevented the vehicle from starting, and controls other systems. The dealership's mechanics diagnosed that this BCM part was the cause preventing the vehicle from starting. This failure occurred without warning. This part was recalled for the 2019 Honda Insight, Honda Accord and Honda Accord Hybrid, and apparently for some 2019 Honda CR-V models (recall 20V771000), but we received no notice.

Continuous illumination of all lights on the dash. We have to reset the battery to clear the codes and it will do it again but the timing differs. Now, I am getting the “Airbag SRS System Problem” that pops up and then goes away when the vehicle is restarted. This has been going on for over a year. We have replaced the alternator and continue to try and find the actual malfunction as a code reader just lists all things being illuminated. We are not the first, not the only, and definitely not the last crv owners with this issue. FIX THIS!!!! I’m highly disappointed in Honda.

Having done some research I discovered that my problem seems to be happening to a number of CRV owners. My signal lights are flickering while the car is turned off. I discovered that Honda had done a recall to fix this problem on several other models but not the CRV. From what I can determine is that this is a problem with the Body Control Module. I feel that there seems to be a lot of CRV with the same problem and maybe your Organization might want to look into this. To see what has been posted you can go to UTube and type in the link (2017 CRV lights flickering when car is off)

The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact believed that the failure was associated with an unknown recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the vehicle was diagnosed that the body control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 23,000.

The battery dies of unknown causes and goes to 0 when parked and not in use. Body control module (BCM) was diagnosed as the potential problem by Honda dealer. But even after the brand new BCM module was installed (after lengthy procurement time), the problem is still not fixed. The battery dies completely - same as before. There is no pro-active warning sign of this issue. I believe Honda has recalled BCM in other models but they should do the same for CRVs too. What are we to do if the engine suddenly stops running due to 0 battery charge in a distant location (and god forbid while we are driving on the road). Appreciate your attention to this issue. Thank you.

Odometer Fraud. The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact purchased the vehicle from a dealer. The contact stated that when the vehicle was purchased the bill of sales and the odometer indicated that the mileage was 74,460. The contact stated that the vehicle broke down immediately after the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with several undisclosed failures. The contact stated that the Carfax report indicated that on 12/09/2023, the vehicle was serviced, and the odometer indicated the mileage was 199,300. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. In addition, the contact stated that the dealer declined her phone calls.

2019 Honda CRV infotainment issues, screen randomly goes blank while driving causing the passengers of the car to have no ability to adjust the various settings (climate, radio, navigations, lighting of the counsel, etc.). This has been ongoing since the first year I purchased the car. Recently while driving the entire screen went blank and a very loud static like noise was coming from the speakers, I could not turn the radio off, I could not adjust the volume. I have to find a safe spot to pull over and shut the car off for a few min. I purchased my car new from the Honda Dealership and have brought it in multiple times due to these electrical issues and they keep telling me it is because I am not using an apple cord to connect OR my apple cord is old. This is not true I purchased brand new cords from apple directly and still the issues keep happening. Also in the last 2 months the rear tail lights will flash for no reason. Car parked in the garage over night the next morning I go out and tail lights are randomly doing quick flashes every few mins. This is a daily occurrence now and I worry someone will think it is a blinker while I am driving but it is not. I have seen several other online forums with the very same issues I am having and Honda wont do anything about it. There is something wrong with the electrical system in these cars.

Good afternoon, My 2019 Honda CR-V suddenly displayed all warnings on the dashboard while operating the vehicle. The warnings remained but would sometimes disappear. However, while driving the vehicle on [XXX], the vehicle suddenly decelerated and was unable to accelerate while driving in traffic. Given any other situation or position of my car on the road, an accident would have occurred. On March 12, 2025, my 2019 Honda CR-V was repaired by Pearson Honda. Pearson Honda determined that the 2019 Honda CR-V had fault fuel injectors, and the fuel injectors were placed. The 2019 Honda CR-V had 66,888 miles at the time of service. As you're likely aware, recalls have been issued on various other Honda Models relating to issues with the fuel injectors. Additionally, there is an abundance of online forum posts highlighting the issue and likely other NHTSA stating the same: - [XXX] (User ALY1337 noting that fuel injectors in their 2017 Honda CR-V went bad at around 68,000 miles) - [XXX] (Various users noting that their Honda CR-Vs of varying years have had fuel injector issues) Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. As I pulled from a stop, into an intersection, the car slammed on the brakes with no warning. Did not see the normal "BRAKE" message as usually appears if you follow to closely for example and there was no car in front of me. It was a quick slam of the brakes, which threw my head forward and down suddenly, then released. I Continued driving and saw no warning lights or indication of a problem on the dashboard. However, when I parked the car and turned the engine off, it would not restart. Only clicked and displayed a continuous series of error messages on the dash including "Electronic Break System Failure" and others. The car would not start. I tried to start it multiple times until the battery eventually ran down. Called tow service and they jump started the car. All error messages reset and did not reappear. I only drove it short distance home and have not driven it since.

I am writing a complaint for 2019 Honda CR-V. While I am aware of the fuel pump recall for this model, what is not recalled and needs to be are the multiple dashboard lights that turn on and remain lit that many owners of this model and several years earlier have not been able to find solutions for. The lights turn on regardless of having a new battery. 2017-2019 Honda CRV owners have not been able to get a clear answer from dealers, and only have been told by Honda to "go to a dealer" who is not able to give a solution. Some have reported that the issue is poor fuel inspectors that needs to be replaced. Finding answers to this is costly after already investing in a vehicle that we trusted would be safe. The multiple dashboard lights are distracting and a safety hazard, and the fact that we do not know the reason they are turning on puts us in a position of driving on the road without knowing if our vehicle will stall, break down, etc. My personal vehicle has been inspected. I am requesting, at minimum, that if a recall cannot be issued, then owners be provided at least one free diagnostic service at a Honda dealer to address an issue that was the responsibility of the vehicle maker.

My CRV 2019 EX Honda is losing power while drivng. It is very concerning since it is happening very often and it can reduce all of a sudden the speed while driving on a highway. I have to stop the car, turn off and then on again to continue. I went to see if there was a recall, but no recall for my car. They say I should change the gas cap but I am not sure that will solve the problem since I’ve heard it can be a software.

My wife was driving the Honda CRV (61k miles, 2019) through a parking lot when suddenly all kinds of buzzers and warning lights came on. There was no warning anything was wrong before this. All of the Driver Assist features read failures, none of the gauges worked, all of the dash was lit up like a Christmas Tree. Sufficed to say this freaked my wife out. She was in a parking lot, she's very anxious and this nearly caused an accident in the lot. There was no visible loss of power, but if we were on the freeway? Terrible accident! We've heard of other people having the same issue from CRV forums. Anyway, we took it to two different places to get the codes checked, and the codes were p0172 (fuel system too rich) and u0401-68 (ecm failure). We then went to a mechanics shop who diagnosed the problem but said they couldn't touch anything until the ECM was fixed by a dealer. We went to Honda West in Las Vegas, NV (W Sahara location), but they said there was no issue with the ECM. In fact, they said that "it's normal for everything to shut off like that when one system goes wrong or bad." Well, the problem is my wife suffers from occasional anxiety and panic attacks, but can drive normally. We've had a check engine light come on before and we've handled it. But the whole dash lighting up for 1 or 2 issues? A potential loss of power, skid control, driver assist features, all out the window because of two codes? By the way, the dealer said nothing was wrong with the ECM. Then why did a code populate for it? This needs to be fixed. The fact that I'm out $200 for a diagnostic fee, to be told that the issue is the fuel injectors (lines up with p0172 code) is fine, but why is everything lighting up like that? It's dangerous, and it's also a KNOWN issue. They need to recall their fuel injectors on their CRVs. I only found out AFTER I BOUGHT ONE. The ECM also CLEARLY needs to be fixed. Now, again, they're making money from misery.

UNKNOWN , Rubber seal in the sunroof ripped when I opened it, causing it to make little holes, after the car has sat in dealership lot for a while. I bought the car used so that is the reason the sunroof has not been opened for a long time as it was just in the dealership lot. This could possibly cause water to leak inside of the car.

I was driving slowly yesterday in a parking lot area and the electrical system on my 2019 CRV Touring sent messages that the brakes, power steering, and engine were shutting down. I lost some power steering capabilities and the brakes were not working normally, but were partially working. I called the dealer who was nearby and they said if I could drive it, to try to get to the dealership. I was less than a mile away, so I was able to drive it very slowly without complete power steering. I was told that all of the electrical signals and shut-downs were due to a fuel injector defect and that I would need all fuel injectors replaced. I have had my Honda regularly serviced without missing any needed service appointments. Prior to the electrical system shut-down yesterday, my Honda was on a recall list for a new fuel pump, which was incorrectly installed, had to be reinstalled a second time, only to find out from Honda that they had made an error and should not have sent me a letter that my Honda was under a recall for a defective fuel pump. The electrical issues began to surface soon after the second fuel pump install (the reinstall due to incorrect install the first time). It also needs to be noted that my car cabin smelled of gas for several days after the fuel pump installs, and if I fill up my gas tank to full, the cabin of my car has a gas smell. My battery immediately died shortly after the second fuel pump install and it was only approximately 2 years old. The screen where my indicators are will frequently shut down for no reason from time to time, but then will come back on. Yesterday was the first time that all systems sent warnings that everything was going to shut down, and the steering and brake systems were compromised. My family and I have concerns regarding the safety of this vehicle at this time.

Aug 8, 2024

While coming home from a restaurant, all kinds of warnings were displayed on the screen. Then as I got in front of my house, my brakes and transmission locked up preventing the car from moving. I had it towed to the Honda dealer and after inspection I was told the wires in the harness leading to the rear view mirror were loose and caused the electrical system in my vehicle to malfunction. I had no idea why this happened as neither my wife or I ever touched those wires. I was told the repair would cost $3,650 and would not be covered by the extended warranty I had purchased when I bought the car new. I did go ahead and authorize the repair, but was not happy about it. The service advisor said this had happened before on other Honda vehicles. This is a major safety defect that could cause accidents.

[XXX] Saturday at [XXX] while driving at about 50 MPH onto [XXX] toward [XXX] , My Honda CRV 2019 suddenly stalled, all alarms setup, beeping on the dashboard, while I was puzzling what was happening, the car behind us almost slammed into our car, narrowly missed by sudden turned to my left hand side. We hit the Emergency Light immediately, then pull over to the side, and immediately called my favorite Honda Mall of Georgia Dealership (HMGD), Buford, GA the lady was very nice after she heard the incident, gave us the name and mentioned to contact Service Manager directly first thing on Monday, also scheduled us to checkup on 7/24/2024 . Me and my wife called the office again on Monday 7/22/2024 11:15 AM, to reiterate the dangerous incident which occurred two days ago. However, Service Manager was away from the office, after a few minutes, the Assistant Manager responded immediately, recommended us to bring in to have a thorough Checkup. Also we stated that we have been calling the office regarding the FUEL INJECTION PUMP RECALL (since 12/28/2023 regarding Engine Fuel Injection Pump Replacement), for more than 5 times according to our record. The responses were no parts available until August 3X, then delayed till September 2X, recently said till this fall 2024. Having said that, if the incident happened again, while our whole family, my daughter and two grandchildren all on our favorite HONDA SUV, if a semi-truck was behind us on [XXX] that day, a crash accident would have been fatal the whole family and Daughter and two Grandkids。After HMGD completed checkup from 7/24 to 7/25, stated the Technician and HQTR still could not identify any RECALL related issue. Then stated my CRV is ready to pick up. (Repair-Order- [XXX]. Dated 07/25/2024) I was startled by the statement. Our HONDA (HMGD), is willing to put our Lives and Safety at RISK on the highway again, as long as you bring the car back for the next incident, (if YOU survive the CRASH). REALLY ! There is a recall issued for my vehicle. I have experienced the exact symptoms described as part of the recall notice. I had a check engine light. Initially they said it was the battery and replaced it, however, a month later again was the same problem. They had an area of diagnosis where it said fuel injection replacement. I was charged 3k. I spoke to them and asked why is it that I had to replace my battery within 1 month, thats very odd. Why is not the recall issue that is the problem and why do they not fix that for me? Why is it that the recall issue is not causing my issues or secondairly causing my issues and everything is being addressed but the recall? I called company. They said they cant get any information from the dealership because of their systems being down—in 2024, lies. Systems can be down but eventually they can be fixed. They asked me to go to a different dealership. I have gone to a different dealership. I was told that the company is not reimbursing people despite having these issues of starting vehciles and check engine signs. These companies need to be held accountable. If a recall is issued, and when a customer is having issues, they cant just blame it one the batter or other parts and act like the recall is not the issue.

Emergency breaking for no reason. Car shuts down and stalls. Flashing Emission system problem, brake systems problem, brake hold systems problem, Power steering systems problem, vehicle stability assist problem, Hill start assist problem, adaptive cruise control problem, Collision mitigation System problem, Road departure mitigation system, problem. This is continuing to happen after the recall was supposed to be fixed. My car is unsafe to drive.

*This car was parked in the driveway 2 days without being driven before the following incident* ALSO- there are recalls for this make and model. Honda always said that the recalls do not include my car. Recalls should be expanded to include mine since the car is un drivable at the Honda service center. WHAT HAPPENED: Alarm went off on car in driveway. Horn constantly going off. Smoke came out around steering wheel and inside the vehicle filled with smoke. All lights came on dash. Gears were locked up and had to manually put in neutral to get on tow truck. Car is at Honda dealership in cumming GA. Said I needed steering wheel cable, srs unit, safety restraints unit, & brake boosters. They put parts on. Did same thing to them as it did in my driveway. Horn & smoke & all!! Now they say it needs steering wheel & the harness is on back order until August 28! and that my vin # is NOT on the recall but I believe it should be. This car could have caused a fire and was parked beside my house. My family and I were at risk and almost called police and fire department. Newborn baby, & other family members inside the home. Family members disconnected the battery because horn was so loud. All these repairs are headed towards $9000 & this is insane. This is my only vehicle. I must have transportation!

I experienced a concerning incident while driving recently, and I would like to bring attention to several issues with my vehicle. Firstly, while turning onto a main street at a speed of 35mph, my vehicle's automatic emergency braking system unexpectedly activated, despite there being no obstruction in front, beside, or behind me. This occurred at a green light as I approached the beginning of the intersection. Additionally, I have been facing multiple problems with my stereo, including glitches, turning off unexpectedly, and the brightness becoming engaged and freezing. I had previously reported these issues to the dealership within the first two years of purchasing my vehicle in 2019. However, the technicians only unplugged and replugged the stereo, assuring me it would be "good." I’m still currently dealing with the problem of the stereo glitches in 2024. Given these concerns, I am worried about the possibility of future issues arising and the potential for a collision due to my vehicle stopping itself randomly while driving. As a responsible driver with a family to consider, I kindly request immediate assistance in resolving these matters. To address the specific questions: 1. The component or system that failed or malfunctioned is the automatic emergency braking system. 2. Yes, the vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. 3. The safety of both myself and others was put at risk due to the sudden activation of the automatic emergency braking system. 4. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. 5. The vehicle and its components have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. 6. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure of the automatic emergency braking system.

Sometimes when you shut the car off, the fuel pump in the fuel tank continues to run. I restarted my car and shut it off and the fuel pump will stop. I'm not sure if it's a bad relay or in the wiring. I don't park near the house. Thanks

All of these warning indicator messages pop up on dash: electric parking brake problem, tire pressure monitor problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, power steering system problem, hill assist etc. My battery was changed and my system was checked but these lights still come on frequently. This has been going on for over a year.

Feb 11, 2024

Randomly all (12 or 13) warning lights come on my dash. Everything from check engine, cruise control problem, hill start problem, braking problem, tire pressure problems, etc. Honda claims they don't find any problems with my car, but I have had this happen for years. Even under warranty, the dealership and Honda of America did nothing.

Jan 29, 2024

A little over two weeks ago we took our 2019 Honda CRV to the dealership because all the indicator lights were lighting up on the dashboard. It started as I was sitting in the car with the car idling as I waited for my husband to come out of the store. We took a short video of what it was doing. The car was at the dealership the next day, but there were no indicator lights like the previous day. We shared the video with the service rep. When we picked it up we were told the fuel injectors needed to be replaced and it would cost in excess of $2,300. The car has less than 78,000 miles on it. The service rep said that if it was his car he would not drive it a distance (freeway) with this problem. That says to me that it is a safety issue. We had been concerned that it could be an electrical issue because the car was in a front-end, side-swipe collision in November 2023, and we had just gotten it back from repairs at the dealership two weeks before the indicator lights problem. The service rep assured us it was not an electrical problem. I looked up the problem on the internet. On [XXX] there were a number of other Honda CRV owners with the same problem at about the same mileage. Our safety is at risk with possible risk to friends and family because we need to drive on the freeway for daily activities. We took it to an independent automotive service location. They did not come to the same conclusion; the indicator lights were no longer on. This vehicle component has not been inspected by any others, other than already mentioned. While driving the car at highway speed the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power to all essential functions. The engine shutdown and there was no steering and loss of some of the brake functions. Multiple warnings started showing ( too many to list here ). The car came to a stop partially in the highway and we experienced several near misses by passing vehicles before we could get enough assistance to push the vehicle out of the roadway. Since this incident a simple search has shown that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. It appears that it could be a problem with the computer software. This problem has a very high potential for serious injury or death when it occurs while driving at highway speeds. Please look into this issue as soon as possible.

All the warning lights come on. When they do, none of the features work including cruise control and advanced vehicle detection.

Dec 29, 2023

Was parked on side of road. No previous warning lights. Car would not start. Unable to put on hazard lights in dark on highway. Had to be towed. All dash wearing lights on only. Was at dealer 2 months prior due to all dash lights on and power failure. Replaced battery and car was re coded per dealer. Prior to that all dash lights came on when car turned off and had to disconnect battery cable every night. Now car does not turnover when jumped and battery charged. Dealer thinks might be a smart unit and parasitic battery drain. Car only has 42000 miles on it. No hazards, worried about being rear ended. i What if there was an abrupt power failure while driving. Living in Wisconsin what if stranded in freezing temps. Unreliable car due to manufacture defects.

Dec 28, 2023

Rear doors will not open when getting out or opening. I changed batteries in key fob, but didn't help. 12/27/23 all lights on dash went black and stayed off for about 5 miles. I've had the brakes stop me and I was thrown forward hard. My main worry is if my electrical system goes out while driving, will my car lock up and cause an accident?

The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but also occurred while the vehicle was parked in the garage and turned off. The contact adjusted the steering wheel to the highest position and the horn no longer operated as needed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

2019 Honda CRV 61K Miles, already had all lights on dash pop up. Says battery is bad, but its good. Then asked me to change engine filter and cabin, done and good now its saying fuel injectors? When does it end this is a joke

After waiting in car, dash board went crazy with all warning lights scrolling. Two dealers refused to take car because the dash stopped. This happened 3 times. Third time, Autozone x2 and Firestone, independent of one another said computer issue and that a code for rich fuel was coming up. On sixth check, mechanic private used code reader after check engine light came on. Dash went berserk twice. They refused to touch vehicle stating it’s electrical. Took it to dealer who kept car for five weeks. ‘Can’t get an active code. We can start with fuel injectors’. ‘Maybe’ that will stop dash board issue. Now, five days after this diagnosis, dealer states that the tech DID find drop in voltage happening intermittently. When I asked why I was not told this originally - he cited mis communication. Car runs great. No repairs done yet as no one knows what to do. 114,000 miles. Highway. I am on several forums and this is not an isolated issue. Help please

Radio screen went blank. Rear back up camera non operational. It is available for inspection.Unable to view behind vehicle when backing up.Dealer service center inspected. No other inspection. No warning.

Two issues are going on and have been going on since I have had the vehicle: 1. The car will spontaneously brake HARD when going down the road with no particular reason. It most frequently happens on the highway and it happens sporadically so it is difficult to replicate. I see it often but not all the time when crossing under an overpass or going off on an exit. The amount of brake use varies as well, sometimes just a tap and sometimes quite significant, losing 20-30 mph in seconds. 2. The infotainment system goes on the blink. Often starts with the brightness setting flashing up on the screen when nothing has been touched. Then it will go away, then brightness will blink back up, then the whole screen is useless / frozen or just disappears all together. I have a few videos of this. The ONLY way to get it to work again is by stopping the car, turning it off and restarting it. This obviously is not possible at certain times and can be really difficult to deal with when going through a big city and relying on the map to help you navigate both roads and traffic (like when it happened on the George Washington Bridge in NYC).

While driving the SUV and series of warning lights started going off all at the same time. I took the SUV to Honda dealership and they ran diagnostics and said that all SIX fuel injectors needed to be replaced. Said it was a common problem they we seeing in this make and model of SUV. The faulty fuel injectors was causing fuel pressure problems which sets off all the warning lights is how it was explained to me. Due to the widespread problem with the fuel injectors there was a backlog and wait time of 6 months to order new fuel injectors and replace them. I am just outside of the warranty for the SUV and I went through Honda for Goodwill Assistance. Honda said I was a good candidate to receive because of the low mileage. After many weeks they denied my Goodwill Assistance request and Honda stated they only do Recalls when NHTSA requires them to do a Recall. Please look into faulty fuel injectors because when all the warning lights come on then I loose some of the safety features that come with this SUV. I will be more than willing to provide any other information to prove there's a known and widespread problem with this SUV's fuel injectors. I respectfully request it's investigated and Honda is required to do a Recall. Thank you. There are 11 warning lights that come on, I have provided pictures of a few but listed here are all of them: Electric Parking Brake Problem, Tire Pressure Monitor Problem, Emissions System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem.

Vehicles harness leading to auto dimming rear view mirror was defective and a wire split rendering all my braking capability. The ABS system felt like it was reversing the brakes EVERYTIME I stepped on the pedal. I hit my garage door because of this: Honda wanted me to pay to fix the wire because "I had a handicap plate that probably broke the wire" yet I never put my handicap placard on my mirror but rather on my dashboard. My brakes are electronically controlled due to it having an electric brake booster and AEB, radar cruise control and more. I could have been killed. HONDA DIDNT CARE, made me take the car with no brakes.

While driving my Honda CR-V the braking, steering and GPS started to fail. I noticed the wire from the windshield to the rear-view mirror was hanging lose. the car was almost impossible to stop. Buckeye Honda replaced the wire for $1028.97 I recently became aware that Honda has recalled a number of other models with the same problem. Should the CR-V also be recalled? I am aware of other owners having same problem. This is very dangerous since the brake and steering fail at the same time. I have the work order and receipt from Buckeye Honda however my printer copier is not working.

When the fuel injectors go bad or out in the 2019 CRV, the check engine light should just come on. Instead the CRV 2019 CRV all lights come on dashboard disabling all safety systems in the car and makes those safety systems unusable when it should just be alerting you of an engine issue. This could cause accidents with a vehicle, rather than the engine just shutting down. Honda has known about it not fixing not only fuel injector they need to be fixing the electric problem that goes along disabling the safety features. They also need to get fuel injector parts in stock. Also, the fuel injector cause further damage to other parts of the vehicle. It damages spark plugs, oil. Honda should been recalling this issue awhile. We take good care of our vehicle and have up kept this vehicle. This one needs to be fixed properly fixing just the injector not enough they have to fix the issue of the safety features where doesn’t disable the whole car along with new injectors.

Possible faulty Body Control Module. Will not recognize either set of keys after the car has been off for a few hours. (The red light on both keys stops working. Both are somewhat new batteries.) To unlock the door, I need to use the physical key. When I hold the keyfob up to the push start, the car will turn on. Sometimes the car will start but will say something about the key not being detected in the car 50% of the time, the car will recognize KEY 1 as KEY 2 and show Key 2 driver's cluster settings. If you do not know about the physical key inside the keyfob or know about putting the keyfob next to the push start button, you will be left stranded. Other reports from a Honda enthusiast website have very similar problems with even the battery being drained overnight.

I bought a Honda CR-V 2019 with 30,695 miles on 7/22/2022 from an authorized dealer. Vehicle had 1 previous owner and a clean record. At around 50,000 miles the car started to have some computer glitches. Interior lights and radio turning on and off. Interior screen changing randomly and rapidly between functions. Nothing to where I was too concerned. I would turn the car on and off and it would fix itself. I am now at 56,000 miles and on 7/23/23 and my car had every light on the dashboard light up. It had the engine light, brake system, traction, steering ACC and was showing warnings for: Adaptive cruise control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind spot warning, Forward collision warning, Lane departures warning, Lane keeping assistance, Parking collision warning, Rear cross traffic warning. I just received a call from the Honda Mechanic, and they informed me it was the fuel injectors and possible spark plugs. It will cost $1,730.00. They are also going to do a computer update and reset. Why is this problem not under warranty? This car is not that old and I make sure all my maintenance is done.

Jul 13, 2023

My vehicle did not want to start, upon getting my vehicle checked by a mechanic my battery, starter, alternator, key fob were good. Mechanic checked the car with his computer and no problems appeared in the system. Upon checking online many Hondas and Acura's have been this issue were the car doesn’t want to start or doesn’t want to turn off. Many articles online show these issues are with the start button on these cars. The engine from my 2019 CRV almost started when using the keyless function from the key fob while outside the vehicle. My mechanic said there has to be an electrical or computer issue because the car wants to start but it’s not getting enough signal. This is a big safety issue that a car is unresponsive, if your in a parking lot or closed structure and the car does not want to turn off it can turn into a big safety hazard.

Rear backup camera has intermittent power loss and loss of entertainment system. There is also popping, cracking sounds and info screen goes off and on. I first noticed this issues about 3 months ago. It was intermittent at first but now the issue is happening all the time I first reported this problem to the Honda dealer about a month ago and they told me there has been no camera issues reported I rechecked with Honda dealer (6-28-2023) and they have had no recall notice and have not heard of this issue with the 2019 Honda CRV. The dealer would charge me $159.00 to see if they can reproduce the problem. This issue is causing an problem as I rely on the rear camera when backing. No warning lights/ messages have shown

Bought the car in August 2019. After a few days I saw the touchscreen beeping for no reason as if buttons on the screen were pressed. That still happens every 6 months or so. From “time to time “Brake" warnings show for no reason when the road is completely open once in a while (which could be very dangerous if it automatically applied brakes for "emergency"). Over the last 4 years this must have happened 5-6 times. Had a dead battery for no reason in April 2021. AAA jump started and replaced it after the second failure the same day. The same battery problem (for no reason) happened in May 2023. I try my best not to keep any electrical systems running when I stop the engine. If I turn on the electrical (by pressing START twice) to open the windows etc, I immediately turn them off right away because it drains the battery very quickly. That’s exactly what happened in May 2023, the fan drained the battery in just one minute and “brake failure” message showed on the dashboard. Honda service was helpful. They replaced the battery and checked to make sure no drainage. American Honda simply emailed me back that there is no such electrical/battery problems even though I see many complaints online. So I wanted to report it.

While her husband was driving the TPMS, emissions, brakes, all-wheel drive, brake hold system, and electronic braking warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving, the warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was restarted but the warning lights remained illuminated. The contact called the local dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 65,500. The contact stated was told that it is a fuel injector issue. My extended warranty will cover the fuel injectors but not the pipe set which is $270 and there is a national back order issued on the parts needed to repair the vehicle.

Vehicle purchased 1/2020. Nov 2020 car had issues with the center screen going black. Had to pull over several times and to restart the car to get it to come back on. The round start button was flashing red when the vehicle was off, also the auto brake light has come on several times and there is no obstruction anywhere. Brought to dealer and they did a software update. mileage was 12,936. 5/16/22 Dead battery twice. Had AAA come to jump the vehicle. Took to local dealer mileage 29,641 battery test failed. replace battery under warranty. Had to leave the car all afternoon. 2/27/23 Car ran for 20 min, Went to move it 2 hrs later battery was dead. Had AAA come and jump it to get it to the dealer. It was going to snow for the rest of the day and we needed to get the car moved in the carport to get to our snow blower. Service closed at 5 pm. They said I could bring it and leave it in the lot for the next day. I brought it myself the next day after driving the car for an hr and starting it several times in the night. battery replaced under extended warranty plan. mileage 31,396 Was told by dealer to keep a charger on it if it was not going to be driven for more than a day. Seems to be some kind of electrical problem drawing the power down. Two batteries on a SUV with this mileage is not normal.

My daughter and I took the CRT 2019 for service to Mahwah Honda, NJ. On 3/31/2013. I was concerned about the sudden opening of the moonroof that would not close manually. They told me that the unit would cost $2000 to replace and have forced the moonroof closed. The same evening the car started to blink brake light even though there were no vehicles around. The car then jerked to a sudden jolting halt. Luckily the traffic was light or it could have led to a chain collision. I would like the issue to be handled immediately. It is the only car I rely on. The car has over 46,000 miles so it is beyond the manufacturer’s warranties. I disagree. Honda model CRT for 2019 have this safety issue and should address the problem forthwith. I request your help and guidance on this critical safety issue.

The collision mitigation system causes the vehicle to stop suddenly in the middle of the street. This happens when there is nothing in the street and when there is a pot hole cover. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership, but since this happens randomly, they were not able to reproduce the issue. The information screen goes blank and shuts off at random intervals. The first few times I took the vehicle to the dealership for repair, they reset the screen and then eventually they replaced the screen. The issue has continued to

All my car systems started to flash warning failure lights including brakes, steering, transmission and all the safety features. My car would start but I couldn't move it out of park and all the warning lights for every system on the car blinked failure. The wire harness that connects to the rearview mirror caused my entire car to shut down and become inoperable. I had to have it towed and it cost me $1552.53 in repairs. I did some research and other people are having the same issue. Critical systems like brakes shouldn’t be connected to things like mirrors. This is a critical safety concern. This issue should have a recall. The 2019 models having a bit of wire that hangs down is clearly a design / engineering flaw. I shouldn’t have to pay to repair this. I would like to know what Honda’s plan is to fix this issue. I have found reports of others having the same issue. My hanging my handicap plate card on the rear view mirror shouldn’t short out the entire car. Legally that is where we are suppose to hang it. People with disabilities have lower incomes and shouldn’t be penalized for Honda design errors. I would like my money refunded. I think Honda should warn customers of this flaw. I also think Honda needs to fix this on all existing and future models. I was lucky this didn't happen while I was driving on the highway to my destination.

The forward collision or automatic brake system engaged for no reason, Zero cars on the road. The car beeped and then came to a complete stop, luckily no vehicles were behind me or I would have been involved in a car accident. The LCD screen beeps, turns on and off, brightens appears and go and down. It won’t stop until you turn the car off. It’s happened numerous times. The backseat passenger window went down and wouldn’t go up either by backseat passenger door or driver door, heard clicking by shutting the car off it fixed it.

Unexplained auto braking. 1st incident Summer 2021. Was approaching intersection with a stop sign with no vehicles behind or in front of my CRV. There was 2 construction metal poles on each side of the intersection. As I approached the cars brake warning light on dash flashed. I tapped brakes to slow down released the brakes and the light returned and car suddenly braked hard before I got to stop sign. Was only going about 15 mph but braking was hard enough to throw me forward in the seat and was caught by the seatbelt. There was nothing in front of the vehicle. Happened again 2 days ago Sept. 2022. Driving on highway at daytime no vehicles in front or rear of my CRV. Brake light started flashing to hit brakes. I applied brakes, but there was nothing in front of me. Because I continued braking the auto brake did not engage this time. Talked to local Hinda dealer was told they have not heard of any issues. If it happened again they recommended getting car inspected. Also have had intermittent issues with radio display suddenly starting to dim and change brightness on its own going from black to bright repeatedly with audible beeping. Was driving car everytime this happened. Happened multiple times over last 2 yrs. Only way to stop it is to stop vehicle, turn it off and then restart it.

1) The following has occurred 5 separate times on 5 separate days: I was driving on a 2-lane road on 4 occasions going anywhere from 25mph to 35mph, and on a 5-lane freeway on 1 occasion going 65mph. My brakes suddenly engaged and my car came to a full stop. The "BRAKE" notification flashed on my dashboard continuously for 30 seconds to 60 seconds. I was unable to steer car for another 1-2 minutes after. Each time it felt like a slam and my body was physically moved in whiplash mode. All items in my car flew around. Each time this occurred there was not another vehicle, object or person in front of me nor beside me. However there were cars behind me. On 3 of those instances, the cars behind me swerved. On all 5 instances I was shaken to my core. I did not want to drive for a day or two after. I have been terrified ever since. I could have been killed each of those times. My son could have been killed or severely injured on 2 of those occasions he was in the passenger's seat. The other drivers who had to swerve violently to get around my car could have also been killed or severely injured. Each of those times the dashboard has lit up every single icon. I have been told I have to pay to have this problem checked out. I do not have the means for this. I purchased my vehicle brand new off the lot. This is unacceptable and honestly terrifying, both for the risk of death and injury, and financially. 2)Electric Parking Brake Problem- my car refuses to start after this event.

For the 4th time in a year and a half, my CR-V has failed to start. I've had it in for dealership servicing twice on this issue and even replaced the battery at their recommendation. It did not fix the problem and they have since told me that they can't identify the problem and said it could be with the computer system (I did purchase an additional warranty for the computer system). In addition to the car failing to start and needing a jump start, the dashboard will start beeping and go blank, or flash a warning message that does not fit the situation. I consider this situation to be a safety issue as it leaves me without a reliable car for travel due to the uncertainty of being able to start the car. The latest episode was today and it was 88 degrees out and I had my 91 yr old father and my dog with me. Waiting for assistance in the heat was very hard on them. My father felt sick due to the long exposure to heat.

Low Tire WARNING light comes on even when there is no problem, because as I was told by my dealership, "The warning light comes on when it can actually be a reminder." Because of the WARNING I pulled over on a heavily traveled road way to look for a low tire. Dangerous not only to my self but other vehicles. "Warning" does not mean the same as "Reminder" and yet Honda has no way of distinguishing the difference. Do I keep driving ignore the warning light as it probably means nothing, and causing an accident because there was a real tire problem or pull into a possible unsafe area, to check? I feel there should be a way to distinguish warning from reminder on the vehicle that has more electronics than the first space craft.

While driving felt sticking of the steering wheel when only turning left on curves or at a red light or stop sign. This occurred sporadically over a three month period but became more pronounced the last month prior to taking the vehicle to the dealership. Dealership discovered the issue was the electric power steering (EPS) had failed. This occurred 3 months after 36 month warranty had expired and 3,000 miles over the mileage limit. No warning light was displayed when issues occurred. Diagnostics was performed by dealer and fault code 32xx thru 34xx confirmed the problem was the EPS control unit. Had the unit replaced due to safety concerns when driving with family. Because of the electric system there was no way to conduct preventative maintenance. Called Honda corporation and a "Good Will Case" was opened (#13019826).

The audio head unit software or hardware is defective. The unit resets repeatedly like someone is pressing the brightness button over and over again (beeping wildly). The problem is well described online as extremely common in newer Hondas. Honda has a TSB on it https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163184-0001.pdf However, the dealers often won't replace these unless they can see the problem themselves, which only happens intermittently (in my case, I have many videos of the problem). But when it does it is an extreme safety hazard disabling the navigation system, climate controls, and other controls controlled by the head unit. Many people in online forums have had their units replaced multiple times to no avail. Honda should be forced to recall these defective audio head units. At the very least dealers should be instructed to fix the problem when videos of it are shown to the dealer.

ON AUGUST 28 I WENT TO START MY CAR AND IT WOULD NOT TURN ON. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY JUMPED IT AND THE CAR STARTED. THEY TESTED THE BATTERY AND IT WAS FINE BUT CHANGED IT ANYWAY. ON DECEMBER 23 IT WOULD NOT START AND HAD TO BE JUMPED. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ON DECEMBER 26 AND 27. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE SAID NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE BATTERY OR THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE 2019 CR-VS.

THE FIRST THIS HAPPEN WAS WHEN I PARK AND I TURN OFF THE CAR BUT THE DASHBOARD WAS STILL ON AND THEN APPEARS MOST OF THE SIGNALS ON AND SOME WEIRD CODE ON THE DASHBOARD AND IS BEEN FOR MONTHS LIKE THAT AND ALSO LIKE 2 MONTHS AGO START AS I WAS DRIVING ALL OF A SUDDEN SEEMS THE CAR REDUCE THE SPEED AND I PRESS THE GAS AND DOESN'T DO ANYTHING

OUR 2019 HONDA CRV WAS PURCHASED IN DECEMBER OF 2019. THE BATTERY HAD DIED 3 TIMES AND HAD TO BE RECHARGED BY THE DEALER. THE HONDA DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AND COULD TELL US WHY THE BATTERY KEEPS DYING. THE CAR IS DRIVEN EVERY DAY AND THE LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS TURNED OFF AUTOMATICALLY AT NIGHT AFTER DRIVING. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AS WE HAVE FOUND OUT ON THE INTERNET THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR 2019 HONDA CRV.

VEHICLE KEEPS GAINING OIL LEVEL FROM BURNED FUEL EVEN THOUGH THE DEALER INSTALLED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. I LIVE IN THE SOUTH SO THE COLD WEATHER IS NOT THE ISSUE. I AM AN INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC FOR 47 YEARS AND DO MY OWN MAINTENANCE SO I KNOW WHAT THE CORRECT LEVEL IS. THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO FIX BUT DILUTED FUEL LEADS TO DAMAGE AND IF SEVERE, CAN CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE AND ACCIDENT. THE IMAGE POSTED IS ABOUT 7K MILES ON OIL CHANGE AND THE LEVEL IS ABOVE THE LEVEL MARKER PAD. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY FAILS TO FUNCTION WHICH ALLOWS ACCESS TO VEHICLE INFORMATION AND CONTROL ACCESS. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT BUT THIS ISSUE GOES BACK TO 2016 AND SO FAR, DO NOT KNOW IF THE REPLACEMENT WILL SOLVE THE ISSUE SINCE IT WAS REPLACED WITH A REMANUFACTURED PART, NOT NEW. THE DEALER REPLACED THE UNIT REALLY NOT TELLING HONDA THE TRUTH ABOUT THE FAILURE TYPE, THEY SAID IT WAS SOUND SYSTEM ISSUE WHEN THEY KNEW FOR A FACT THERE WAS NONE AS I GAVE THEM A VIDEO AND A LETTER DESCRIBING THE ISSUE. ONE PART IS 1000 DOLLARS AND THE OTHER 1800 DOLLARS, A STIFF COST WHEN WARRANTY RUNS OUT. THEIR FIX IS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AT A COUPLE OF HUNDRED A MONTH. A WIN WIN FOR THEM AND A LOSS TO THE CONSUMER. THE FAILURE WAS SPORATIC AND HAPPENED DRIVING OR PARKED. THE FAILURE DATE IS JUST FOR THE ELECTRONIC PART BUT OIL ISSUE HAS BEEN FROM THE BEGINNING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BATTERY BECAME DRAINED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BRAMAN HONDA OF PALM BEACH LOCATED AT 5200 LAKE WORTH RD, GREENACRES, FL 33463, WHERE THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER TWO WEEKS AND A ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED AND RECHARGED THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE ROADSIDE SERVICE TECHNICIAN THAT IF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVEN UP TO 20 MILES PER DAY, THE BATTERY WOULD BE DRAINED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS COMMON WITH THE MAKE AND MODEL AND THAT THE DEALER WOULD NOT DISCLOSE THAT INFORMATION. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THE INFORMATION AND TOLD THE CONTACT TO BUY A JUMPER CABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,900.

CAR IDLING, OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE NOT REGISTERING. DEALER FOUND "CODES B1227 OPEN IN THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR, C0051-54 STEERING ANGLE SENSOR LEARNING INCOMPLETE, OTHER AREAS HARNESSES DAMAGED INSULATION AND TUBING, ...". ENTIRE MAIN ELECTRICAL HARNESS HAD TO BE REPLACED. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE ROAD, COULD A SAFETY FEATURE HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED? PROBLEM ATTRIBUTED TO RODENT DAMAGE, YET CAR WAS PARKED IN THE SAME PLACE AS A 2013 HONDA ACCORD, WHICH I TRADED IN TO GET THE SUBJECT VEHICLE, FOR SIX YEARS. ON JULY 25, 2020, WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, USING GOOGLE MAPS GPS FOR DIRECTION ON APPLE CARPLAY, THE DISPLAY ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED BEEPING AND FLASHING DIFFERENT SCREENS. THE SCREEN BRIGHTNESS CHANGED AS WELL AS THE DISPLAY. NOTHING WAS BEING TOUCHED. THIS WENT ON FOR AT LEAST 4 MINUTES UNTIL WE HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF IN ORDER TO STOP THE BEEPING AND SCREEN FLASHING. THE PASSENGER HAS A VIDEO OF THE SCREEN FLASHING/BEEPING AND PROOF THAT NO BUTTONS WERE BEING TOUCHED THAT WE CAN SHARE. IT WAS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING AND WAS VERY DANGEROUS. I BELIEVE THIS INCIDENT ALSO RE-SET THE LANE KEEP ASSIST AND AUTOMATIC CRUISE CONTROL NOTIFICATION SETTINGS. ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2020, THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AGAIN DRIVING ON A DIFFERENT INTERSTATE WHEN USING APPLE CARPLAY FOR GOOGLE MAPS GPS. THE BRIGHTNESS INDICATOR FLASHES, THE SCREEN CHANGES BRIGHTNESS, AND CHANGES SCREENS WITHOUT PROMPTING. THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP IT UNLESS THE CAR IS PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF.

THE SUNROOF AND ALL THE WINDOWS OPENED ON THEIR OWN DURING THE NIGHT. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED, LUCKILY THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE EACH TIME. I BLEW IT OFF THE FIRST TWO TIMES THINKING I MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING ON THE REMOTE, BUT I SEE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SOMEONE ELSE. I HAVE A SILICONE COVER OVER THE REMOTE NOW SO I DON'T THINK I AM CAUSING THIS. I ALWAYS CLOSE ALL THE WINDOWS AND TURN OFF ALL ACCESSORIES BEFORE TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE SO THIS GETS EASILY NOTICED. WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR AT WALMART AND STARTED THE ENGINE ALL THE SUDDEN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNINGS COME ON THE DASH AND ALSO I COULD NIGHT SHIFT THE GEARS. I WAS NOT ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AT ALL AND HAD TO CALL A WRECKER TO COME TOW THE CAR TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG FOR MOST OF THE DAY. THEY THEN CALLED ME AND ASKED ME DID I NORMALLY HANG MY HANDICAP PLACARD ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR. I SAID YES THAT'S WHERE WE NORMALLY HANG OUT AND REMOVE IT BEFORE WE DRIVE IT EVERY TIME. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE HANDICAP PLACARD HAD DAMAGED THE CABLE ON THE BACK OF THE MIRROR AND HAD CAUSED THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO COMPLETELY FAIL AND THAT IT WAS NOT A WARRANTY PROBLEM. I HAD TO PAY $922 TO GET THE CAR FIXED. THE WIRING HARNESS IN THE ROOF OF THE CAR HAD TO BE REPLACED. WE WERE NOT EVEN AWARE THAT CABLE WAS BEHIND THE MIRROR. THE PROBLEM COULD'VE HAPPENED AT ANY POINT WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND I WOULD HAVE LOST ALL THE BRAKING SYSTEM FOR THE CAR IF IT HAD HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN UP WITH HONDA AND OTHER CAR MAKERS AND HAVE A RECALL TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO THE HANDICAP PLACARD WILL NOT DESTROY THE CABLE. *TR

WINDOWS AND SUNROOF OPEN ON THEIR OWN. VEHICLE PARKED FOR 2 DAYS IN DRIVEWAY. IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT, ALL WINDOWS AND SUNROOF OPENED DURING A RAINSTORM. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THIS ISSUE. FIRST TIME SEP'19, SECOND TIME 4/28 OR 4/29 2020. CUSTOMER CASE 09867240 WITH AMERICAN HONDA. THEY SAY THIS IS A "FEATURE" THAT REQUIRES PUSHING BUTTONS ON KEY FOB REMOTE IN SPECIFIC ORDER. NO BUTTONS WERE PUSHED EITHER TIME. SEP'19 KEY FOB WAS IN POCKET. SECOND OCCURRENCE OCCURRED MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE I WAS SLEEPING. ONE FOB HANGING ON HOOK NEAR BACK DOOR. OTHER ON MY DRESSER NEXT TO MY WALLET. NO POSSIBLE WAY BUTTONS COULD HAVE BEEN PUSHED IN MIDDLE OF NIGHT. AM HONDA SOLUTION IS TO GET A HARDCASE FOR THE REMOTE TO BE SURE BUTTONS ARE NOT PUSHED BY MISTAKE. DEALER SAYS SAME THING. INTERNET POSTINGS SHOW THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ON MANY DIFFERENT HONDA MODELS FOR MANY YEARS AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM. AM HONDA ALSO SAYS THAT THE "FEATURE" CAN'T BE DISABLED. MY POINT...IF THEY PROGRAMMED IT INTO THE SYSTEM, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROGRAM IN A "SWITCH" THAT CAN BE ACCESSED THROUGH THE CONTROL SCREEN. DEALER (WILLIAMS HONDA, TRAVERSE CITY MI) ALSO INDICATES IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE NO WAY TO DISABLE IT EITHER, EVEN WITH THEIR SERVICE DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS. IT RAINED HERE LAST NIGHT. MY CAR IS SOAKED. THE RESPONSE FROM AMERICAN HONDA IS THAT I DID NOT HAVE A HARD CASE FOR MY KEY FOB. EVEN THOUGH I WAS ASLEEP AND THE FOBS WERE NOT MOVED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY, WHERE WE HAVE LIVED FOR OVER 25 YEARS. THE WIRING USED FOR THE MAIN HARNESS IS MADE WITH A SOY BASE PRODUCT. NOT ONLY MICE OR RATS, SQUIRRELS AND OTHER ANIMALS CAN SMELL THIS OUT AND DESTROY THE WIRING. I WAS TOLD THAT ONE MAN HAS HAD HIS MAIN HARNESS REPLACED 3 TIMES. IF A SOY BASED PRODUCT IS BEING USED, THEN THE REPAIRS THAT WILL BE NEEDED OVER AND OVER FROM RODENTS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY FOR WIRING FOR THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE CAR!! THIS HARNESS GOES TO CONTROL ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT IS IN THE CARS COMPUTER SYSTEM. I AM AN ELDERLY DISABLED SENIOR ON A FIXED INCOME. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO BUY THIS CAR AND THEN TURN AROUND BEFORE IT IS EVEN A YEAR OLD TO HAVE TO FORK OUT $1400.00 FOR A NEW WIRING HARNESS, YOU KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN, BUT DID NOT CARE!!! THEREFORE YOUR PRODUCT IS HIGHLY DEFECTIVE!!! I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HONDA CAR AND I WILL DEFINITELY PROMOTE THE PROBLEM OF THE WIRING INFO TO INFORM OTHERS NOT TO PURCHASE THESE VEHICLES!!! THE POOR SERVICE THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN CUSTOMERS CONCERNING THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG!!!!! BY DOING THIS THEY ARE CREATING A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PROBLEM. MICE, RATS AND RODENTS CARRY ALL KINDS OF DISEASES AND BY ENTICING THEM WITH SOY BASED WIRING, YOU ARE CAUSING ANOTHER PROBLEM THAT COULD BE MUCH WORSE FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS, IF THEY WERE TO BE BITTEN BY THESE RODENTS!!!! WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE THINK ABOUT WHAT WOULD BE WORSE, THE ENVIRONMENT OR DEAD CUSTOMERS AND THE LAWSUITS FROM THAT!!!!

WE WERE DRIVING A CRV WHICH IS LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD. ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS FAILED. THE BREAKS SYSTEM, COLLIOSION AVOIDENCE, LANE ASSIST, ACC. ALL FAILED. FORTUNATELY WE WERE AT 20 MPH SO WE WERE ABLE TO SAFELY STOP THE CRV. WE TOWED THE CRV TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY AFTER 4 DAYS WERE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THAT ALL THE SAFETY SYSTEMS HAD FAILED AS THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORTCURCUIT WHICH HAS BLOWN THE FUSES AND THE CONTROL SYSTEM. THE CAUSE OF THE ELECTRICAL SHORT WAS TRACED TO EXOPSED WIRES IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSMEBLY WHICH WERE DAMAGED BY AN ORNAMNET WE HAD HUNG. THE REASON I AM COMPLAINING IS I WANT TO BRING IT TO YOUR ATTENTION OF THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT. 1.LOT OF PEOPLE HANG ORNAMNETS/ CAR FRESHNER ETC AND THIS DEFECT CAN CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS SYSTEM FAILURE WITH ALL SAFETY SYSTEMS FAILING WHEN THE CRV IS IN MOTION. 2.THIS CRV IS LESS THAN 6 M OLD SO IT ALSO INDICATES TO THE POOR DESIGNAND MANUFACTURE . 3. CRV IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR SUVS SOLD IN USA SO LOT OF PEOPLE ARE AT RISK. 4. THE DESIGN ENGINEER KNEW THE IMPORTANCE OF THESE WIRES SO HAVE A PROTECTIVE RUBBER INSULATION BUT THE INSULATION LEAVES A GAP WHERE THE WIRES ARE EXPOSED, AND CAN BE DAMAGED. I HAVE DRAMATIC VIDEO SHOWING THIS INCIDENT WHEN WE WERE DRVING AND THE EXPOSED WIRES, THE SHORT CRICUIT DAMAGE AND THE ORNAMENT THAT THEY ARE BLAMING FOR THIS INCIDENT. THIS RECALL WAS FIRST ISSUED IN MAY 2019, HOWEVER HONDA DID NOT NOTIFY OWNERS UNTIL MID JULY. I WAS TOLD BY EVERY SINGLE ONE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS IN STOCK FOR CURRENT CUSTOMER REPAIRS AND WILL NOT RECEIVE THEM UNTIL AUG/SEPT. I WAS THEN TOLD THAT THE PARTS THAT THEY ARE RECEIVING WEEKLY ARE ONLY FOR CURRENT INVENTORY ON THE LOT THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL. WHAT?! THIS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE! BRAND NEW 2019 HONDA CR-V EX-L: ELECTRICAL PROBLEM,4/10/19 AT 200 MILES, BATTERY COMPLETELY DEAD AFTER 2 DAYS OF NOT DRIVING BECAUSE COMPUTER PROGRAM ERROR. HONDA IS AWARE OF PROBLEM, BUT DOES NOT INSTRUCT THE DEALER TO FIX THE PROBLEM BEFORE SELLING ITS CARS. ENGINE PROBLEM AT 12 MILE AND UP, BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH,2019, SMELLED GASOLINE IN ENGINE OIL AT DIPSTICK, THE LEVEL WAS OVER MAX MARK BY 1/4", WAS TOLD THAT HONDA ALREADY IMPLEMENTED THE SOLUTION PRIOR TO SELLING 2019 MODEL TO THE PUBLIC. OBVIOUSLY, IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. DEALER WAS NO HELP, REFUSE TO ADMIT THAT THE OIL WAS OVER MAXIMUM AND MIXED WITH GASOLINE. 5-9-19 AT 1467 MILES, PAID TO CHANGE OIL AND FILTER AT DEALER AND STARTED TO MONITOR OIL CONDITION AND LEVEL CLOSELY. DISCOVERING THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS STILL OVER MAXIMUM MARK BY 1/4" AFTER RETURNING HOME AND ENGINE WAS COOL. 5/13/19 AT 1600 MILES, DRAINED 1/4 QT. OF OIL OUT TO BRING THE LEVEL DOWN TO 1/8" BELOW MAX. MARK. DISCOVERED THAT THE OIL HAD ALREADY TURNED BLACK AFTER LESS THAN 200 MILES , 4 DAYS AFTER OIL CHANGE. SAVED SAMPLE OF THE BLACK OIL FOR DEALER. 5/14/19 AT 1694 MILES, SHOWED SAMPLE OF NEWLY CHANGED BLACK OIL TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT. WAS TOLD THAT THIS DIRTY OIL COULD BE TYPICAL OF THIS 1.5 TURBO ENGINE. DEALER ADMIT THIS TIME FROM THE OIL SAMPLE THAT THERE IS GASOLINE SMELL MIXED IN WITH ENGINE OIL. PAID FOR ANOTHER OIL AND FILTER CHANGE MYSELF. DEALER DID NOT OFFER TO DO ANYTHING EXCEPT TELLING ME TO CONTACT HONDA ENGINEERING. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE OIL STATUS, AND POSSIBLY ASK FOR HELP FROM HONDA USA. HONDA IS NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING FOR THE CUSTOMER SINCE IT HAS KNOWN THIS SINCE 2017 MODEL YEAR. SERIOUSLY, CONSIDERING OTHER BRAND OF VEHICLE IN THE FUTURE. IF THE NEW OIL AND FILTER CAN GET COMPLETELY DIRTY IN LESS THAN 200 MILES, I WOULD BE REQUIRED TO CHANGE OIL EVERY WEEK!

I WENT INTO MY GARAGE FOR SOMETHING AND NOTICED A HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE CRV WHICH HAD BEEN PARKED IN THERE FOR SEVERAL HOURS. I WALKED AROUND THE CAR BUT COULDN'T LOCATE THE EXACT LOCATION THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM. WHEN I OPENED THE DRIVERS DOOR THE NOISE STOPPED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONLY ONE TIME THAT I KNOW OF BUT IF ITS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IT COULD CAUSE A FIRE.

ANYHOW AS YOU ALREADY KNOW THIS IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED A.S.A.P.. DEALER NOW TELLS ME HONDA IS WORKING ON A FIX BUT IN THE MEAN TIME I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR JUMPED AND PAID FOR THIS AS WELL IT'S A MAJOR NUISANCE I WANT FIXED VERY SOON OR WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I WILL BUY ANOTHER CAR. VEHICLE BATTERY WAS DEAD AFTER THE SUV SAT UNUSED FOR 2 DAYS WITHIN 3 WEEKS AND 300 MILES OF OWNERSHIP. THIS HAS OCCURRED OVER 6 TIMES IN 3000 MILES. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE BATTERY TWICE AND IS NOW ON ITS THIRD BATTERY. DEALER NOTES THIS PROBLEM EXISTS ON ALL 2019 CRV'S DELIVERED TO-DATE AND THAT THEY DO NOT YET HAVE A SOLUTION.

IF THE CAR SITS FOR 2-3 DAYS WITHOUT RUNNING THE BATTERY DRAINS AND DIES COMPLETELY. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT IS RELATED TO AN EVAC TEST THAT IS PERFORMED 5 HOURS AFTER THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. APPARENTLY HONDA IS AWARE AND IS WORKING ON A SOFTWARE UPGRADE.

THE BATTERY IS REPEATEDLY DEAD AFTER A DAY OR SO IF NOT DRIVEN. THE DEALER SAYS A DRAW OF 0.500 AMP WAS FOUND FROM THE EVAPORATION DETECTION MODULE AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX IT. THEY CANNOT GIVE ME ANY TIMELINE FOR THIS UPDATE OTHER THAN TO SAY "THEY ARE WORKING ON IT". IN THE MEANTIME, ANYTIME I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR FOR A DAY OR TWO, I NEED TO GET A "JUMP" TO GET IT STARTED.

PURCHASED 2019 HONDA CR-V ON FEBRUARY 9, 2019. DROVE ONLY TWICE IN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS. ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE FOR THE 3RD TIME (101 MILES ON ODOMETER) ON THE 2 WEEK ANNIVERSARY OF BUYING, FEBRUARY 23, 2019 AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD! HONDA SENT TOW TRUCK, DRIVER CHARGED BATTERY. TOOK INTO HONDA TODAY FOR INSPECTION, THEY CHECKED THE BATTERY AND ONLY THE BATTERY AND SAID IT WAS FINE, NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO. I WOULD HAVE LIKED THEM TO CHECK AND SEE WHAT DRAINED THE BATTERY. THE CAR SAT FROM TUESDAY TO SATURDAY, I WOULD EXPECT IT TO START WITHOUT AN ISSUE. SPOKE TO SALES ASSOCIATE WHO SAID THAT NEW CARS TEND TO DRAIN THE BATTERY IF THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE LEFT IN THE ON POSITION. I DON'T KNOW WHY THAT WOULD EVEN BE A POSSIBILITY BUT IF THAT IS A FACT IT SHOULD BE CORRECTED.

ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 2019 WHILE DRIVING ON A CLEAR AFTERNOON, WE WENT ONTO THE ENTRY RAMP FOR THE HIGHWAY TO RT 95 S. THE RAMP WAS NOT STRAIGHT AND HAD CURVES. WHEN AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO APPLY THE BRAKES TO SLOW FOR THE FIRST CURVE, THEY DID NOT RESPOND AS THEY SHOULD, THEY PULSED AND LOCKED. AT THE SAME TIME, THE DIGITAL DASH BEGAN DISPLAYING MULTIPLE WARNINGS OF SYSTEMS NOT FUNCTIONING INCLUDING BRAKE, EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRANSMISSION, POWER STEERING, TIRE PRESSURE, LANE ASSIST, CRUISE CONTROL, HILL ASSIST,, ETC. WITH DIFFICULTY WE WERE ABLE TO PULL ONTO THE GRASS SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY, THERE WAS NOT A BREAKDOWN LANE IN VIEW. WE TRIED SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING, AND THE WARNINGS PERSISTED. I CONTACTED HONDA ASSISTANCE AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK. THE TOW DRIVER STATED HE HAD DIFFICULTY LOADING THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE BRAKES BEING LOCKED. AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP, THEY ALSO COULD NOT RELEASE THE BRAKES TO OFF LOAD THE CAR.
