The air bag light flashing saying airbag is off. The electrical system shut off, radio flashed on and off. The steering lost its power and the head lights shut off then everything would come back on. This happened multiple times, I could not control the steering, very unsafe and scary. Car is available for inspection upon request.

ALSO, HAD MY CAR IN THE REPAIR SHOP 3 TIMES BECAUSE OF FOLLOWING REAONS: WHEN ACCELERATING FROM 0-35 MPH IT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE. HAD IT HOOKED UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE 3 TIMES AND THE NOISE WAS NOTICED, BUT NEVER RESOLVED.

POLICE REPORT NUMBER: PA-19-285971 WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A POLICE IMPOUND FACILITY. THE FRONT PASSENGER WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE TO THE HOSPITAL AND SUSTAINED FIVE BROKEN RIBS, A BROKEN BACK, AND LACERATIONS TO THE HEAD. THE OCCUPANT REMAINED IN THE HOSPITAL FOR EIGHT DAYS. THE SECOND ROW PASSENGER AND A CHILD WERE ALSO TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH INJURIES TO THE FACE AND HEAD. THEY REMAINED IN THE HOSPITAL FOR ONE MONTH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.

TAKATA RECALL - IT HAS BEEN OVER SIX MONTHS SINCE I WAS PUT ON THE LIST FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL. I CONTACTED HONDA RIGHT AWAY AS I HAD JUST HAD THE DRIVER SIDE ONE REPLACED THAT TOOK ALMOST 3 MONTHS. WE ONLY HAVE 1 VEHICLE IN OUR FAMILY AND MY FIT IS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR MY FAMILY. I SPOKE WITH HONDA ABOUT GETTING A RENTAL AS WE CANNOT USE THE FRONT SEAT SAFELY AND WAS DENIED A RENTAL AND WHEN I ASKED FOR AN APPEAL I WAS JUST PUT ON HOLD AND TOLD NO. I FEEL THAT HONDA HAS HANDLE THIS PART OF THE RECALL POORLY AND IN MY CASE SEVERELY AFFECTED WHAT MY FAMILY AND I CAN DO. THEY CLAIM I HAVE 5 SEATS WHICH WOULD BE GREAT IF THE BACK SEAT HELD 2 REGULAR SIZED ADULTS LET ALONE 2 TEENAGERS AND AN ADULT.

TAKATA RECALL I GOT THE RECALL EMAIL FROM HONDA IN MARCH OF 2016 SAYING THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE SUMMER OF 2016. IT STATED THAT HONDA WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS FOR MY FIT WERE AVAILABLE. CONSIDERING THAT THE AIR BAGS DEPLOY AND SPRAY SHRAPNEL INTO PEOPLE'S FACES AND EYES, IT WOULD SEEM URGENT TO GET THESE REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS TO HONDA'S CUSTOMERS. TO DATE, I HAVE HEARD NOTHING FURTHER FROM HONDA. I CAN'T SELL THIS CAR BECAUSE IT IS A "RECALL" CAR AND SHOULD NOT DRIVE IT FOR YEARS AND YEARS WITH THE DEFECT/MAIMING AIRBAGS. THE LETTER STATED THEY WOULD SEND ME ANOTHER LETTER SOON INFORMING ME WHEN I COULD GET IT FIXED. I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM, SO I CALLED THEM ON 7/18/2016. THEY SAID THAT I COULD GET IT FIXED BY LATE SEPTEMBER AT THE LATEST AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A SECOND LETTER INFORMING ME WHEN I COULD GET IT FIXED. NOW IT IS 11/2/2016 AND I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM HONDA. IF MY CAR TRULY HAS A DANGEROUS AIRBAG THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, I THINK THAT MORE THAN 7 MONTHS IS LONGER THAN I SHOULD HAVE TO WAIT TO GET IT FIXED. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE FOR 8/27/16 ONLY TO FIND OUT WHEN I GOT THERE THAT MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP (HONDA OF OAKLAND) STILL DID NOT HAVE THE PART EVEN THOUGH I WAS ABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ONLINE SPECIFICALLY FOR THE RECALL. IT'S BEEN OVER 90 DAYS AND I STILL HAVE YET TO RECEIVE NOTICE FROM MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS RECALL. PLEASE REMEDY THIS SITUATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. TAKATA INFLATORS. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH 2016, AND WITHIN A DAY OR TWO CONTACTED MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER, MC GRATH HONDA, LOCATED AT 1411 E MAIN STREET IN ST CHARLES, IL. THEY SUPPOSEDLY PUT ME ON A WAITING LIST. I HAVE CALLED THEM 3 TIMES, AND EVEN STOPPED BY ONCE TO INQUIRE ON THE STATUS O MY VEHICLE. THEY HAVE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. EVEN ON MY DROP BY VISIT, I WAS NOT GIVEN AN ANSWER, JUST TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BACK THE NEXT DAY...DID NOT HAPPEN. I HAVE NOW BEEN WAITING OVER 180 DAYS TO GET THE REPAIR. I HAVE EVEN CONTACTED THE HONDA DEALER SCHAUMBURG, IL, BUT HAVE HAD NO BETTER LUCK WITH THEM. IF THIS IS SUCH A SAFETY CONCERN, MAYBE THEY SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON FIXING THE CARS THAT ARE ALREADY ON THE ROAD. HELP ME GET MY CAR FIXED. TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN OVER 60 DAYS SINCE FIRST CONTACTING MY HONDA DEALERSHIP (AUTOMATION HONDA OF VALENCIA) FOR A REPAIR APPOINTMENT. THEY HAVE NEITHER REMEDIED THE DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE, NOR MADE ANY ATTEMPT TO ASSURE MY SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO CALL TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE TO TRY AND RESOLVE THE SITUATION HAVE BEEN IN VAIN.
I BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO BE REPAIRED AND THEY NOTIFIED ME THAT IT WOULD BE AN EXTENDED TIME THAT MY CAR WOULD BE OUT. I EXPLAINED THAT I DRIVE UBER AND THAT WAS MY MAIN FORM OF INCOME, WHEN I COULDN'T DRIVE A REGULAR ENTERPRISE, I SPOKE TO HONDA AND DID THE SECOND OPTION OF PAYING FOR IT UPFRONT AND BEING REIMBURSED 6-8 WEEKS AFTER I FILED MY RECEIPTS. THIS WAS GOING ON IN APRIL-MAY AND IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER. I AM OUT $1200 AND DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GET THEM TO REIMBURSE ME MY MONEY. THEY HAVE BEEN DRAGGING THEIR FEET ALWAYS REQUESTING MORE INFORMATION AND WANTING MORE AND NEEDING ME TO EXPLAIN. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND I WANT TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION. HOWEVER WHEN I CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE NATIONAL HONDA HOTLINE 6/21/6 FOR AN UPDATE, NEITHER COULD PROVIDE ANY NEW INSIGHT WHATSOEVER AFTER 3 MONTHS HAD PASSED. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. A MANUFACTURER CAN PROVIDE SOME AT LEAST REMOTELY ACCURATE DELIVERY ESTIMATE UPDATE AND DISSEMINATE THAT INFO. ALSO, SOMEONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACQUIRING THAT INFO, COORDINATING WITH OTHER ENTITIES AND DISSEMINATING THAT INFO. RATHER IMPORTANT WITH LIVES AT RISK. SIX OF THESE VEHICLES ARE HONDA FITS AFFECTED BY THE TAKATA RECALL. FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR MEMBERS AND LIABILITY PURPOSES, WE REMOVED THESE VEHICLES FROM SERVICE ON APRIL 4, 2016. I WAS TOLD THE PARTS MAY BE AVALIABLE IN LATE SUMMER OF 2016. THEY HAVE OFFERED A RENTAL, WITHOUT THE OPTIONAL INSURANCE COVERAGE, BUT I WOULD PREFER IF THEY OFFERED A BUY BACK ON THE VEHICLE.

I ASKED ABOUT A REPLACEMENT CAR, AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO RENT A CAR ON MY OWN, FOR A MONTH OR MORE, FILL OUT A REQUEST AND THEY MIGHT COVER SOME OF THE COST. I WORK APPROX. 18 MILES FROM HOME. I DEPEND ON MY CAR. EIGHT DEATHS AND OVER 100 INJURIES HAVE OCCURRED IN THE US. THEY WON'T EVEN RETURN MY CALL FOR A BUSINESS DAY OR TWO. I HAVE MISSED WORK TODAY.
