TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HONDA GL1800 GOLDWING. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE REAR BRAKES ENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY AND STOPPED THE MOTORCYCLE WITHOUT WARNING. THE MOTORCYCLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE WORN THROUGH AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER A RECALL RELATED TO THE SERVICE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. COMPOUNDING THE TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT ONLY OCCURS WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE 90 DEGREES F. IT APPEARS TO BE A FEEDBACK LOOP ISSUE SINCE FRONT AND REAR BRAKES ARE LINKED SYSTEMS.
