ABS WARNING LIGHT ON. TAKEN TO DEALER MANY TIMES OVER SEVERAL YEARS. BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRED, DEALER TOPPED-OFF FLUID. PROBLEM RETURNED IN A FEW WEEKS AND REPEATED VISITS TO DEALER RESULTED IN SAME REMEDY. EVENTUALLY, DEALER ADVISED REPLACEMENT OF OUT-OF-WARRANTY ACCUMULATOR FOR $498.98. AFTER REPLACEMENT, PROBLEM RETURNED LESS THAN A WEEK LATER. DEALER FURTHER ADVISED REPLACING THE REST OF THE ABS SYSTEM AT A COST OF OVER $1000. BRAKES OTHERWISE WORK FINE. *NM

1995 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH 56,000 MILES. ABS LIGHT WENT ON INTERMITENTLY. TOOK THE CAR TO HONDA DEALER. WAS TOLD THERE IS A LEAK ON MODULATOR AND ACCUMULATOR. WAS ADVISED TO REPLACE THE MODULATOR ACCUMULATOR AT $1365. THIS HAS ACCOUNTED FOR OVER 20% OF THE COMPLAINS ON 1995 HONDA ODYSSEY ON NHTSA SITE. THERE WAS ALSO A SIMILAR DEFECT INVESTIGATION ON 1995 HONDA ACORD ABS. CALL FOR AN DEFECT INVESTIGATION ON HONDA ODESSEY.

1) ABS SYSTEM: THE ABS LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED. I HAVE ADDED BRAKE FLUID TO THE RESEVOIR, ALTHOUGH THIS FIXED THE PROBLEM ONLY TEMPORARILY. FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS APPEARS TO BE A FAIRLY WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL YEAR. 2) AIR CONDITIONER: THE AC MAKES A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE, WITH A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF VIBRATION BEING FELT QUITE STRONGLY WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE GAS PEDAL. THE PROBLEM DIMINSHES WHEN THE REAR AC IS TURNED OFF, AND DISSIPATES COMPLETELY WHEN THE AC AS A WHOLE IS SHUT DOWN.*AK

ON ANNUAL INSPECTION, RIGHT REAR DISC AND PAD SHOWED EXCESSIVE WEAR/SCORING ALTHOUGH ALL OTHER DISCS & PADS WERE NORMAL. DISASSEMBLY SHOWED INNER PAD WORN ONLY ON PARTIAL AREA OF SURFACE. PADS WERE BOTH ADEQUATELY INTACT SO THEY WERE NOT THE SOURCE OF SCORING. SOURCE OF SCORING NOT FOUND. *AK
