My rear sliding door FELL all the way off the van.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO OPEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR WITH THE KEY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HAD TO ENTER THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COGGIN HONDA JACKSONVILLE (LOCATED AT 11003 ATLANTIC BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32225, (904) 302-8217) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.

THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR GLASS SEPARATED FROM ITS FRAMEWORK/BRACKET AND FELL INTO THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AT THE TIME - MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IT I BELIEVE ON THE HIGHWAY. WHILE WE WERE GETTING THE VERY COSTLY REPAIR DONE, ANOTHER WOMAN WAS THERE WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE - I JUST HAPPENED TO OVERHEAR HER - RIGHT AFTER THE MAINTENANCE REP INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF IT HAPPENING. I AM SUBMITTING IT NOW BECAUSE I REALIZE IF PEOPLE DON'T SPEAK UP, NOTHING WILL BE INVESTIGATED. WE NO LONGER OWN THIS VEHICLE AND WE GAVE ALL THE MAINTENANCE RECORDS TO THE GAL WE SOLD IT TO. IT WAS REPAIRED BY PARK HONDA IN AKRON OHIO AND WE CAN ONLY ESTIMATE THE TIMEFRAME AND THE MILEAGE. IF NEEDED, I COULD TRY TO FIND OLD CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS THAT MIGHT NARROW IT DOWN.

WE HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION SYSTEM AND THE STARTING OF IT. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO USE THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS THEY ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF WORKING ORDER. WE HAVE BEEN WORRIED ABOUT IT WAS NOT A SAFE AUTO WITH SMALL CHILDREN.

WE LIVE IN MINNEAPOLIS, WE DROVE THE CAR TO HOUSTON ON 5/112017. OUR CAR WAS IN A CRASH IT HIT THE FRONT CAR AND IT WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED IN THE FRONT AND HAS BEEN TOTALLED. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND MY WIFE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT , THOUGH WAS WEARING THE SEAT BELT HIT IN FRONT AND HER CHEST HIT THE DASHBOARD AND CAUSED IMMEDIATE PAIN. GENERALLY INCIDENTS LIKE THIS THE AIRBAGS SHOULD BE DEPLOYED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. THE CAR WAS RECALLED ONCE AND THE HONDA DEALER IN WHITE BEAR LAKE SAID THE AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED BUT STILL THEY DID NOT WORK.

HONDA ISSUED A RECALL NOTICE, SERVICE BULLETIN:08-031 " WARRANTY EXTENSION: PAINT PEELING ON DARK BLUE 2003-2005 ODYSSEYS". I AM ATTACHING THE SERVICE BULLETIN FOR YOUR REF. MY 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY WAS AFFECTED AND ITS BLUE COLOR WAS PEELING OFF OF PLACES. ON FEB 24TH 2010, COLONIAL HONDA OF DARTMOUTH, MA REPAINTED THE AREAS OF CAR AS PER THE BULLETIN: WHICH WERE ROOF, HOOD, TOP HALF QUARTER PANELS, AND TOP HALF FENDERS. MY CONCERN WAS THAT HONDA CHOSE TO JUST PAINT THE FEW AREAS AND IF OTHER AREAS STARTS TO PEEL OFF AS WELL BUT I WAS TOLD BY COLONIAL DARTMOUTH DEALER THAT TO KEEP COST DOWN, HONDA IS ONLY WILLING TO RE-PAINT THE AFFECTED AREAS AND SHOULD ANY OTHER BE AFFECTED AT A LATER POINT, THOSE WILL BE DONE AT THAT POINT. WITH THAT SAID, I AGREED AND LET THE DEALER DO THE WORK. SOME TIME LATER I NOTICED THE PAINT IS PEELING FROM OTHER AREAS. IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME WAY IT IS PEELING, LIKE IT DID BEFORE AND MATCHES PICTURES SHOWN IN THE BULLETIN ATTACHED. SO, I WENT BACK TO COLONIAL HONDA AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEED TO CALL HONDA I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT THEY HAD PROMISED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM AT A LATER POINT IF PEELING SHOULD OCCURS BUT NOW THEY ARE NOT HONORING THEIR WORD AND LOOKING THE OTHER WAY AND ALSO MADE DEROGATORY REMARKS ABOUT MY CAR, THAT " YOUR CAR IS 13 YEARS OLD" !!! SUBSEQUENTLY, I CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OPENED CASE# N012015-04-2100738. AFTER ABOUT 30 MIN OF KEEPING ME ON HOLD, HONDA CUSTOMER REP, MATTHEW TOLD ME THE SAME THING THE DEALER SAID, THAT IT IS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. IF HONDA WOULD HAVE DONE THE RECALL PROPERLY THE 1ST TIME, BY PAINTING THE CAR ON ALL AREAS I WOULD NOT BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A RECALL THAT WAS NOT DONE IN ITS ENTIRETY.
2003 HONDA ODYSSEY EX WAS TAPPED IN THE REAR BY A LARGE PICKUP TRUCK WHILE WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT, CREASING THE LIFT GATE AND SLIGHTLY PUNCTURING THE BUMPER COVER. JEFF'S BODY SHOP IN CHESTER MD IS THE REPAIR SHOP. UPON REMOVING THE REAR BUMPER COVER, THEY DISCOVERED THE STEEL FRAME TO BE SEVERELY RUSTED, WITH OVER HALF OF THE BOTTOM OF THE BEAM MISSING. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE STEEL FRAME MEMBER FROM THE ACCIDENT. HAD THIS BEEN A MORE SERIOUS COLLISION, THE BEAM COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY FAILED AT ITS INTENDED PURPOSE. THIS VAN WAS GARAGE KEPT FROM 2003-2010, WELL CARED FOR AND GENERALLY NOT DRIVEN WHEN IT SNOWED AND ROADS SALTED, AND IN TEMPERATE MARYLAND THE ENTIRE TIME. THE REPAIR SHOP WILL BE CUTTING OUT AND WELDING IN A NEW FRAME MEMBER. PHOTOS OF THE RUSTED PART ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. I'VE ALSO ASKED THE BODY SHOP TO SAVE THE PART FOR INSPECTION.

BUT IF IT IS A FAILED DEFECT THEN THEY SHOULD ADDRESS THIS BECAUSE THIS IS DISTURBING AND UNSAFE TO ME,AND MY FAMILY NEVER MADE IT TO THE RIVERWALK. PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED LIMIT. THEN VEHICLE SEEMS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING OR TOOK A FEW SECONDS TO ENGAGE FROM A STARTING MOVEMENT FORWARD LEAVING A STOP LIGHT. AT IDLE THE TACHOMETER STARTED TO REV BETWEEN 1100-2000 RPMS AT STANDING IDLE IN PARK.THE SLIDING DOORS GET JAMMED STUCK WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN FROM THE DASH CONTROLS. I KNOW THESE COULD CAUSE AND ACCIDENT AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET NY CHILDREN OUT OF THE VEHICLE VIA THE SLIDING POWER SIDE DOORS.VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED ON 12-12-2014. *TR
TOLD BY HONDA ON 4/9/2014 AFTER I CALLED AND THEY SAID THE DARK BLUE BODY PAINT EXTENSION EXPIRE. THEY SAID I WAS MAILED A LETTER ABOUT THE PAINT IN 2008. DID NOT GET THIS. FOUND OUT ABOUT IN RECENTLY ON THE WEB. *TR
NOTICED PAINT PEELING ON ROOF IN CHUNKS FROM MY UPSTAIRS WINDOW. GOT ESTIMATES TO REPAINT THINKING IT WAS DUE TO AGE. BOTH VENDORS ASKED IF IT HAD BEEN HIT AND REPAIRED ASSUMING THAT WAS THE CAUSE. I AM ORIGINAL OWNER WITH IT NEVER BEING HIT WHICH CAUSED ME TO CHECK FOR RECALL I MAY HAVE MISSED AFTER IT BEING DIAGNOSED AS A PRIMER ISSUE. DEALER SAID THE REP TOLD THEM THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NOW I'M TOLD THAT EVEN GETTING IT REPAINTED BEFORE IT RUSTS WILL WORK SINCE THE INITIAL PRIMER IS THE ISSUE AND NEW PAINT WON'T STICK ANY BETTER THAN THE OLD. DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO KEEP IT LOOKING LIKE A TRASH VAN.

LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER WE BOUGHT OUR VAN, THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR WOULDN'T CLOSE PROPERLY. IT WAS FIXED PRIOR TO US BUYING THE VAN. SINCE THEN WE HAVE HAD TO GET OUT AND PHYSICALLY PUSH ON THE DOOR TO CLOSE IT. ALSO, HAD AN INCIDENT WHERE THE DOOR CLOSED ON A CHILD'S HAND WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE SENSED IT WAS THERE. CHILD WAS FINE. NEW PROBLEM IS WE CAN'T GET DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR TO CLOSE PROPERLY. IT WILL CLOSE AND THEN POP OPEN A LITTLE BIT. HUBBY HAS TAKEN TO "KICKING" IT IN WITH HIS FOOT. WE DRIVE WITH THE DOORS LOCKED PRAYING THAT THEY WON'T OPEN LIKE I HAVE READ ABOUT HAPPENING TO SO MANY FOLKS. WE BOUGHT THE VAN BECAUSE WE HAVE 3 KIDS BUT THIS IS SCARY STUFF. AS WE DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD THERE IS A CONSTANT BEEPING SOUND LIKE THE DOOR IS OPEN BUT IT ISN'T LIT UP ON THE DASH. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY NO RECALL HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS YEAR OF HONDA. SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEMS THE EARLIER YEAR HONDA'S HAVE HAD. WE ARE MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS VAN AND CAN'T AFFORD TO PURCHASE ANYTHING ELSE. VEHICLE WAS PARKED. DRIVER USED FRONT DASH AUTO OPEN BUTTON TO OPEN SIDE DOOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE. 6 YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT HAD GOTTEN OUT OF HER CAR SEAT AND AS THE DOOR WAS OPENING HER LEG SLIPPED INTO THE OPEN SPACE BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE RETRACTOR BAR. THE DOOR DID NOT REGISTER THAT THERE WAS AN OBJECT AND CONTINUED TO PRESS ON HER LEG UNTIL DRIVER WAS ABLE TO EXIT VEHICLE AND PULL SLIDING DOOR HANDLE TO REVERSE DIRECTION TO FREE UP THE CHILD'S LEG. LEG WAS PAINFUL BUT NO SERIOUS INJURY ON THIS OCCASION. *TR
I PARKED THE CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY TO PICK UP MY 4 YR GRANDSON. I LEFT THE CAR, WITH KEYS IN HAND, BUT LEFT THE CAR DOOR OPEN. I TURNED MY BACK TO THE DOOR TO WALK AROUND THE BACK OF THE CAR, AND NOTICED THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS TOWARD THE STREET. I TURNED QUICKLY IN THE DIRECTION OF THE STEERING WHEEL ATTEMPTING TO INSERT MY RIGHT LEG TO PRESS THE BRAKE. I HOPPED A FEW TIMES ON MY LEFT LEG, AS THE CAR DOOR WAS PUSHING ME BACKWARDS. UNABLE TO REACH THE BRAKE, THE FORCE OF THE CAR DOOR SLAMMED ME TO THE GROUND ON MY RIGHT BUTTOCK AND RIGHT SIDE. THE BOTTOM OF THE DOOR SCRAPED OVER MY LEFT KNEE, LEAVING TWO GASHES AND BRUISED KNEE, SCRAPED UP OVER MY LEFT ARM AND SHOULDER, COMPRESSING MY SHOULDERS, CLAVICLE, CHEST CAVITY AND BASE OF SKULL (SHOULDER TO SHOULDER MEASURING 19") SO THEY WOULD FIT BENEATH THE DOOR (12" CLEARANCE).THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR DOOR IS CRIMPED WHERE "IT GAVE" INTO THE PRESSURE OF PUSHING MY BODY INTO THE GROUND. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ROLL ACROSS THE STREET, UP OVER THE CURB, AND FINALLY STOPPED WITH THE REAR WHEELS ON THE SIDEWALK AND THE FRONT WHEELS STILL IN THE STREET AGAINST THE CURB. NO TIRES ROLLED OVER ME. WHEN MY DAUGHTER ENTERED THE CAR TO REPOSITION AND PARK IT, SHE FOUND THE CAR IN REVERSE, AND I HAD THE KEYS IN MY HAND. A NEIGHBOR HAD DIFFICULTY INSERTING THE KEY, BUT WAS ABLE TO START AND PARK IT. I DROVE THE VAN TO MOHAWK HONDA, WITH BLOOD DRIPPING FROM ABRASIONS. THEY GAVE ME A RIDE HOME WHILE THEY REPLACED IGNITION CYLINDER, GAVE ME 2 NEW KEYS, TOLD ME THERE WERE NO RECALLS, AND CHARGED ME $555. WHEN I ASKED IF THIS SHOULD BE REPORTED SOMEWHERE, I WAS TOLD NO. I SAW THE NHTSA ARTICLE IN THE NEWSPAPER TODAY 10/6/12. I HAVE A NO FAULT CLAIM, HEAD CT SCAN, CONTINUING PT AND THERAPY DEALING WITH PTSD AND CONSTANT HEAD AND NECKACHES .A BROTHER OF MY SON'S CLASSMATE WAS KILLED 4 DAYS AGO AS A DODGE CARAVAN ROLLED OVER HIM IN HIS DRIVEWAY. DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC DOOR HAS STARTED NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR CLOSES BUT NOT QUITE ALL THE WAY, IT WILL NOT "ENGAGE", OR "CATCH". THEREFORE, THE VAN THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN (OPEN DOOR LIGHT IS ON, BUZZES CONTINUALLY WHEN PUT INTO GEAR, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON). HOWEVER, THE POWER SLIDING DOOR INDICATOR LIGHT IS NOT ON, SO THE VAN THINKS THE DOOR IS CLOSED, BUT IT IS STILL OPEN. I HAVE TO GET OUT AND PHYSICALLY BUMP THE REAR OF THE DOOR THE FINAL CENTIMETER OR SO TO GET IT FLUSH. SOMETIMES NO MATTER HOW MUCH I TRY THE DOOR WILL NOT CATCH ALL THE WAY. FOR SOME REASON THE BACK LOCK PART ISN'T "CATCHING." THIS OCCURS ALMOST EVERY TIME THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS IS A DANGER FOR MY CHILDREN RIDING IN THE CAR IF THE DOOR IS NOT ENGAGED. *TR

THE VAN WAS NEVER ABUSED OR USED TO TOW. TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT 1.30.12 BY PRIVATE SHOP CONTINENTAL TRANSMISSION FOR $1800. (TORQUE CONVERTER BLOWN TO PIECES). HONDA DOES HAVE LIMITED RECALLS ON TRANNYS BUT MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED (ONLY IF 2ND SHAFT IS BROKEN & SCORED AND BURNT/ BLUISH COLOR) THIS WILL DOCUMENTED TRANNY PROBLEM WITH 2ND GENERATION ODYSSEY IS VERY UPSETTING AND I BLAME IT ON A POOR DESIGN BY HONDA ENGINEERS (UNDER SIZED TRANNY PAIRED WITH A POWER V6 240HP HEAVY 4500LBS VAN HAS BEEN A RECIPE FOR PREMATURE FAILURE). THE WORST PART WAS ON 1.5.12 I JUST HAD EXTENSIVE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE DONE AT DON DAVIS HONDA (TIMING BELT, WATER PUMP, TENSIONER AND POWER STEERING BELTS) AND TWO WEEKS LATER THE TRANSMISSION FAILS!!! OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VAN HAVE BEEN, AC COMPRESSOR FAILED MAY 2010 88,648 MILES. REAR WIPER MOTOR FAILED MARCH 2011 89,240 MILES, BOTH SLIDING POWER DOOR ROLLERS HAD TO REPLACED. BRAKE SWITCH FAILED (LOCKED UP), DEC 2011 98,750 MILES VAN WOULD NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK. NOT REAL HAPPY OR CONFIDENT WITH HONDA RIGHT NOW! *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY 65 MPH WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR, THE DRIVERS SIDE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR OPENS ALL BY ITSELF. WE HAD TO FIND A PLACE TO PULL OVER AND SHUT THE DOOR. THE DOOR OPENS FINE BUT WILL NOT LATCH ON AND CLOSE PROPERLY ANYMORE. THE INTERIOR CALL LIGHTS GO ON AND EVERYTHING STARTS BEEPING AND DASHBOARD STARTS FLASHING. THE VEHICLE (2003 HONDA ODYSSEY) HAS PROGRESSIVELY BEEN EXPERIENCING WHAT I'LL DEEM "ELECTRICAL" ISSUES THAT SEEM TO BE SEVERELY IMPACTING THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS ON THE VEHICLE CAUSING THEM TO OPEN WHILE DRIVING, NOT OPEN WHEN USING THE HANDLE OR BUTTON. SPECIFICALLY, THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS WILL NOT OPEN, WILL NOT CLOSE OR PARTIALLY CLOSE WITHOUT FULLY LATCHING. THIS HAPPENS REGARDLESS OF USING THE MANUAL DOOR HANDLE OR THE BUTTON LOCATED ON THE DASHBOARD. MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE AUTOMATIC DOORS HAVE OPENED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH CHILDREN IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE CREATING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION. THIS HAS OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 6-10 TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR AND SEEMS TO BE GETTING MORE FREQUENT. IT'S HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, ON SIDE STREETS AND DURING NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT IS CONSTANTLY DRAWING A SMALL CHARGE FROM THE BATTERY KEEPING IT IN A WEAKENED STATE. *KB

MY 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY'S TRANSMISSION WENT OUT IN FALL OF 2010. I AM A CAREFUL DRIVER, TAKEN CARE TO MAINTAIN MY CAR ACCORDING TO SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE. THE TRANSMISSION FELT A LITTLE LOOSE FOR A FEW DAYS, AND THEN ONE DAY ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK IT COMPLETELY FAILED. I COULDN'T GET INTO ANY GEAR. I CALLED HONDA AND ASKED FOR HELP AND THEY SAID MY CAR WAS TOO OLD AND IT WAS NORMAL FOR TRANSMISSIONS TO FAIL. THE MILEAGE ON MY CAR WAS 134760. I HAD TO HAVE A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AT AAMCO FOR $3000. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS, AND HONDA REFUSES TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS DO NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR CLOSES BUT NOT QUITE ALL THE WAY, IT WILL NOT "ENGAGE", OR "CATCH". THEREFORE, THE VAN THINKS THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN (OPEN DOOR LIGHT IS ON, BUZZES CONTINUALLY WHEN PUT INTO GEAR, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON). HOWEVER, THE POWER SLIDING DOOR INDICATOR LIGHT IS NOT ON, SO THE VAN THINKS THE DOOR IS FINE, BUT STILL OPEN. I HAVE TO GET OUT, WALK AROUND, AND PHYSICALLY BUMP THE REAR OF THE DOOR THE FINAL CENTIMETER OR SO TO GET IT FLUSH. FOR SOME REASON THE BACK LOCK PART ISN'T "CATCHING." THIS OCCURS ALMOST EVERY TIME THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS IS A DANGER FOR ANY CHILDREN RIDING IN THE CAR IF THE DOOR IS NOT ENGAGED. FUSE #13 HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT SO DOORS WERE RESET AND EVERYTHING CLEANED AND OILED. *TR

IN ORDER TO OPEN A STUCK SIDE DOOR, I MUST EITHER HAVE A SECOND PERSON PUSH HARD ON THE INSIDE WHILE I PULL HARD ON THE HANDLE ON THE OUTSIDE, OR I MUST YANK REPEATEDLY ON THE HANDLE. I WAS TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR LAST MAY, 2006, WHEN THE HANDLE BROKE OFF ENTIRELY, PROBABLY FROM THE REPEATED YANKING I'D DONE DURING THE THREE YEARS I'D HAD THE VAN. I FELL HARD INTO THE PAVEMENT AS WELL AS INTO THE CAR PARKED NEXT DOOR, BUT I AM MORE CONCERNED THAT, SHOULD I HAVE AN ACCIDENT, MY CHILDREN WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS TO FREE THEMSELVES. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WITH THE RUBBER SEALS ON THE DOORS STICKING TO THE METAL OF THE BODY WHEN THE DOOR IS SHUT. WHEN THE HANDLE BROKE, I TOOK IT TO THE HONDA DEALER THAT SOLD ME THE VAN FOR REPLACEMENT, WHICH THEY DID AT NO CHARGE EVEN THOUGH THE VAN WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, AS THEY'D REPLACED SEVERAL OTHER HANDLES DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE SEAL/STICKING PROBLEM ITSELF. THEY ADVISED ME TO APPLY A SILICONE-BASED LUBRICANT TO THE SEALS, WHICH I DID SEVERAL TIMES, BUT EACH TIME THE LUBRICANT ONLY LESSENED (NOT STOPPED) THE PROBLEM FOR A DAY OR TWO BEFORE THE DOOR WAS STICKING AGAIN. THE DEFECTIVE SEALS ARE STILL ON MY VEHICLE. *TR

WHEN THE DOOR DOES OPEN YOU MUST PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO CLOSE THE DOOR WITH THE DRIVERS CONTROLS, THERE IS NOT ALWAYS A SAFE AREA TO PARK WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHICH INCREASES THE RISK TO SLOW DOWN AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THEY CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE, AND ONLY AFTER "YANKING" ON THEM NUMEROUS TIMES, THEY CAN BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE CONTACTED SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS AND THEIR RECOMMENDATION IS LUBING THE SEALS. I HAVE HAD THIS DONE TWICE AND IT HAS NOT WORKED EITHER TIME. ONE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD TO BE ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM IN ORDER TO FIX IT. SINCE THIS ONLY OCCURS UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, AND NOT REGULARLY, THAT WOULD BE NEAR IMPOSSIBLE. AFTER NOT RECEIVING ANY SATISFACTION FROM MY DEALERSHIP, I DID CONTACT HONDA DIRECTLY. THEY THEN CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP AND THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED IMMEDIATELY. THEY REPLACED THE WEATHERSTRIPPING AND SUBSEALS. SO FAR, I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS (THIS WAS DONE LESS THAN A WEEK AGO). MY CONCERN IS THAT THE DEALERSHIPS WILL NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY. THE BUYER HAS TO GO THROUGH SEVERAL STEPS FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I HAD TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE COMPANY. THE DEALERSHIPS ONLY RECOMMENDED "LUBING" THE DOORS WHICH, AT BEST, IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX TO A POTENTIAL DANGEROUS PROBLEM. (THE INCIDENT DATE I CHOSE BELOW IS THE LAST DATE OF THE PROBLEM.
