The power sliding door on my driver's side completely fell off. This is due to a faulty hinge with plastic rollers that was I told totally disentgrate after being used normally. This hinge is located at back part of sliding door. I had no warning in any way. There was no warning lights or any sounds of any kind that told me something was wrong. I was closing my door after loading my groceries into my vehicle when the door literally fell off hinges and onto me. Luckily, it was me and not one of my children as I could just barely bear that weight and ended up hurting my back and shoulder because of it. There is no way that they could have, it would have crushed them! My vehicle is available to view issue at request. Please check into this it definitely needs to be recalled and fixed before a child gets hurt! There are thousands of people that have dealt with this happening to them with their Honda Odyssey, why hasn't this vehicle been recalled and fixed? What is going on?

Both of the automatic sliding doors have came off tracks and fell off and will not close all the way it seems the door is only in place with a wire that supports the sliding component and has fallen off and the doors now are only supported by a single top track and this is a safety issue due to passengers riding in the van and if this falls off going down the road it could cause a accident

The sliding door on the driver side has had trouble latching. It has repeatedly caused the battery to drain and has been previously repaired at an independent service center. On 7/16/21, the same sliding door wouldn't close and fell off. The slider center wheel detached causing the door to fall off the track. This resulted in body damage to the side of the vehicle as well as the door needing to be repaired. The vehicle is currently at a body shop, an independent service center. There were no warning lamps on. The door could have injured myself or my son but fortunately we were able to catch it.

I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING FREEZING UP ON SLOW TURNS AND THE TRANSMISSION TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH IS STUCK MAKING THE CAR TRANSMISSION HEAT UP AND QUIT UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN, I WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD 4X FOR THIS. ONCE WITH MY 97 YR OLD BROTHER IN LAW AND 79 YR OLD SISTER.THEY WANT $4000 TO FIX THIS. THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CABLE BROKE ALSO.I HAD THE RUN FLAT PAX TIRES ON IT WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED, I WAS NOT TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE AT LEAST 100 TO 200 MILES TO GET THEM CHANGED OUT AS THEY NEED A SPECIAL MACHINE TO FIX THEM. THERE IS RUST OVER THE REAR WHEELS ON BOTH SIDES. I HAVE SEEN THIS ON ALMOST EVERY SINGLE SIMILAR HONDA ODYSSEY, SAME MODEL AS THE 2006 MODEL I OWN. THE RUST IS ON THE BODY PANELS IMMEDIATELY OVER THE REAR WHEELS, ON BOTH THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER SIDES. THIS HAS HAPPENED GRADUALLY, AND OCCURS ON NO OTHER PART OF THE VEHICLE, SO IT IS A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE.

THIS VAN HAS BEEN A FRUSTRATING NIGHTMARE. BESIDES THE PAX SYSTEM TIRE ISSUES, WE HAVE HAD TO FIX BOTH SLIDING DOORS BECAUSE THEY FELL OFF. MY HUSBAND CAME WITH SOME TOOLS AND HELPED TO GET IT CLOSED SO WE COULD TAKE IT TO THE AUTO SHOP. IT WAS AN EXPENSIVE FIX NOT TO MENTION THE DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR. YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS AT THE LIBRARY WITH FOUR OF MY CHILDREN ( 8,6,3, AND A BABY) THE OTHER DOOR CAME OFF THE TRACK. THIS TIME, MY HUSBAND WAS NOT AROUND TO COME HELP US ( HE IS DEPLOYED SERVING IN AFGHANISTAN). WE HAD TO GET THE VAN TOWED, AND THE DOOR STAYED OPEN ALL NIGHT BECAUSE THE SHOP WAS CLOSED. WHILE THERE, ONE OF THE MEN WORKING SAID HE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS ODYSSEY. LOOKING ONLINE I SEE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE BECAUSE A PIECE WAS MADE WITH NYLON ( TO REDUCE NOISE) WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE WITH STEEL. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE HARDWARE ON THIS. HONDA NEEDS TO FIX THESE, INSTEAD OF LEAVING THE BURDEN TO REST ON THE CONSUMERS WHO PURCHASED THESE PIECES OF JUNK. THE SUB-FRAME, RR ASSEMBLY GOT SO SEVERELY CORRODED THAT IT HAS CRACKS AND FRACTURES AND NOW THERE IS A SMALL HOLE IN IT WHICH IS DEEMED AS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WE CAN'T EVEN DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THE COST TO REPAIR IT IS MORE THAN HALF MY VEHICLE VALUE AT THIS POINT. WHAT IS PRETTY INTERESTING IS THAT THE HONDA DEALERS DON'T STOCK THE PART (50300-SHJ-A01) AND CAN'T REALLY SAY IF OR WHEN THEY CAN GET THE PART. MORE THAN A COUPLE OF THEM HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY'VE NEVER ORDERED THIS PART BEFORE, WHICH LEADS ME TO ASSUME THAT THIS COULD NOT BE A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FAILURE. I CALLED HONDA AND THEY WILL NOT RELY ON A 3RD PARTY (MY TRUSTED & REPUTED LOCAL MECHANIC) OPINION AND WOULD LIKE ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE, MOST LIKELY TOW IT, TO THE DEALER AT MY EXPENSE AND GET IT DIAGNOSED AT MY EXPENSE, WHICH MY MECHANIC HAS ALREADY DONE. WHILE IT'S "ONLY PAINT"...WE ALL KNOW THAT RUST LEADS TO STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ISSUES, HOLES AND CAN ALLOW WATER AND ELEMENTS IN TO DAMAGE THE ENGINE. AFTER HONDA HAVING THE CAR FOR 31 DAYS THE INSURANCE PAID THE REPAIRS & I PAID MY $500.00 DEDUCTIBLE. I'M READY TO DRIVE MY HONDA ODYSSEY AWAY ON 11/13/14, AND I NOTICE THE VAN BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND THE RPM'S DROPPED TO ALMOST 0. NO REPORT WAS GIVEN TO ME ABOUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH VAN & WHAT FUTURE REPAIRS HAD TO BE DONE. ALL I GOT WAS THE PRESENT REPAIRS DUE TO THE FIRE, EVEN AFTER WE HAD ASKED THEM TO DO A FULL INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE FIRE THE VAN NEVER SHOOK, IT NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. WHILE THERE, THEY PERFORMED THE CHANGING OF THE FUEL PUMP WHICH HAD BEEN RECALLED BY HONDA, BUT NOW WE CAN NOT BE SURE THAT IT WAS DONE NOR CAN WE BE SURE THAT IT DIDN'T AFFECT THE CARS STATUS NOW. HONDA STILL HAS THE VAN IN THEIR LOT & INSURANCE ADJUSTER WENT TO SEE THE CAR AND NOW HONDA IS SAYING THAT THE SHAKING OF THE CAR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FIRE. ACCORDING TO HONDA'S FINAL REPORT THE "PROBABLE" CAUSE OF FIRE WAS IN THE ALTERNATOR AREA -SUB-CORD ALTERNATOR TO FUSE BOX. HONDA SAID THE SHAKE IS CAUSED BY THE RUBBER MOTOR MOUNTS. I TRIED TO TELL HONDA THEY ARE RUBBER PIECES AND WHEN RUBBER COMES IN CONTACT WITH HEAT IT MELTS. HONDA WILL NOT FIX WITHOUT ME PAYING OUT OF POCKET. IF THE PROBLEM REALLY IS THE MOTOR MOUNTS, I HAVE RESEARCHED THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE AWAITING A RECALL FROM HONDA ON THE MOTOR MOUNTS FOR THE FACT THAT THEIRS PREMATURELY FAILS. HONDA HAS US ON A BACK AND FOURTH. MY 2006 ODYSSEY WAS HIT ON THE PASSENGER 2ND ROW BY A VEHICLE THAT RAN A STOP SIGN AND SUSTAINED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE 2ND ROW PASSENGER SIDE. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE ODYSSEY TO SPIN AND WAS PUSHED AT LEAST 20 FEET BEFORE BEING STOPPED BY THE CURB. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AND SHE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES- NO ONE WAS IN THE 2ND ROW THANKFULLY. WHEN I VIEWED THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO QUESTION IN MY MIND THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, AFTER INQUIRING FURTHER TO VERIFY THIS ASSUMPTION, I DISCOVERED THAT NO AIRBAG WAS DEPLOYED. I WAS SHOCKED TO LEARN THIS. THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED AND DID NOT. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A MALFUNCTION, AND I AM INFORMING YOU OF IT AS SUCH. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A MATTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY BECAUSE A SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY WHEN VEHICLE IS HIT HARD AND DIRECTLY ON ITS SIDE. HAVE HAD TWO HONDA ODYSSEYS (ONE NEW 2008 AND ONE USED 2006). BOTH HAD ISSUES WITH THE RIGHT AND LEFT REAR AUTOMATED SLIDING DOORS. THE NEW VAN HAD THIS PROBLEM MUCH LESS THAN THE OLDER ONE, BUT BOTH HAVE HAD MULTIPLE OCCURRENCES OF THIS PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM SOMETIMES COME AND GO SPORADICALLY AND SOMETIMES NEEDS TO BE TAKEN TO THE SHOP TO BE FIXED. THE DOOR USUALLY SHUTS, BUT THEN POPS OPEN JUST ENOUGH THAT IT IS NOT FULLY CLOSED. SOMETIMES THEY WILL NOT LATCH AT ALL. I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS JUST "OUR LUCK" BUT AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I REALIZED THAT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ONGOING MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT IS WELL KNOWN ON THE WEB. IN OUR FAMILIES CASE, I CAN SAY THAT THE INCIDENCES WERE NOT RELATED TO ANYTHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO "BREAK" THE DOOR. WHEN WE TOOK DELIVERY OF OUR 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY ON JANUARY 21, 2014 THE RIGHT HAND DOOR WAS NOT OPENING/CLOSING PROPERLY. THE SALES PERSONNEL SAID THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE WEATHER RELATED AND TO GIVE IT SOME TIME AND THAT IF IT CONTINUED TO NOT WORK PROPERLY THEN TO BRING THE VAN BACK AND THEY WOULD FIX IT. WE HAD JUST UNDERGONE AN ICE STORM HERE IN MICHIGAN, IN DECEMBER 2013, AND HAD UNUSUALLY COLD TEMPERATURES WHICH STAYED UNTIL EARLY MARCH. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AFTER THE WEATHER HAD WARMED A BIT AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE DOOR AND THEY SAID THAT THE VAN WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BUT THAT THEY WOULD WORK ON IT AS A GOOD FAITH GESTURE. THE VAN WAS TAKEN IN AND THE CENTER ROLLER ASSEMBLY OF THE RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR WAS REPLACED. THE DOOR WORKED PROPERLY FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND THEN STARTED TO NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE SYMPTOMS THE DOOR WAS EXHIBITING WERE THAT OF A FAILED RELEASE ACTUATOR. I HAVE FOUND THROUGH RESEARCH THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMON PROBLEMS WITH THE 3RD GENERATION HONDA ODYSSEY VANS AND WHEN I CONTACTED THE DEALER REGARDING THIS ISSUE THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO UNLESS I WAS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. THEY HAD EVEN NOTED IT IN THE VAN'S SERVICE RECORD THAT THE RELEASE ACTUATOR MIGHT HAVE TO BE REPLACED BUT ELECTED NOT TO DO IT AT THE TIME THEY REPLACED THE CENTER ROLLER BECAUSE THE VAN'S DOOR TESTED OK. *JS

THE STRUTS ON THE LIFTGATE OF MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY LX COMPLETELY FAILED IN NOVEMBER 2011 AT AROUND 40,000 MILES. THANKFULLY, THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS OPENING IT, SO NO ONE WAS UNDERNEATH IT YET. THE LIFTGATE IS EXTREMELY HEAVY AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURY, ESPECIALLY TO A SMALL PERSON. WE REPLACED THE STRUTS WITH NEW HONDA PARTS PURCHASED FROM THE SAME HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. IT IS NOW APRIL 2013, NOT EVEN A YEAR AND HALF LATER, AND THE REPLACEMENT STRUTS HAVE ALSO FAILED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY HAVE NO ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO FROM HERE OTHER THAN REPLACE THE STRUTS WITH THE SAME PART THAT HAS FAILED TWICE NOW. I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE. GIVEN THE TRACK RECORD OF THE LIFTGATE STRUTS FOR THIS MODEL, I THINK IT'S PRETTY LIKELY THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, AND I FEAR THAT I OR SOMEONE IN MY FAMILY MAY SUFFER SERIOUS INJURY OR WORSE. BASED ON A REPORT TODAY THAT HONDA IS RECALLING 2003/2004 HONDA ODYSSEY WHERE THE ISSUE INVOLVES THE IGNITION INTERLOCK, A DEVICE INTENDED TO ENSURE THAT THE KEY CAN ONLY BE REMOVED WHEN A VEHICLE IS FIRMLY SHIFTED INTO PARK. WE HAVEN'T OPENED IT SINCE. MOVING FORWARD TO LAST MONTH, NOVEMBER 2012. THE DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC DOOR STARTED SQUEAKING UPON OPENING AND CLOSING. A WEEK LATER, IT TOO WAS REFUSING TO SHUT. THIS TIME I WAS AT A GROCERY STORE AND ENDED UP STRANDED IN THE PARKING LOT WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD FOR OVER AN HOUR BEFORE I COULD FINALLY GET THE DOOR TO SHUT. IT IS WINTER AND THUS, VERY COLD THESE DAYS. I AM NOW HAVING TO LOAD MY KIDS IN THE VAN FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OR THROUGH THE TRUNK. I DON'T DARE OPEN EITHER AUTOMATIC DOOR. IN THE SUMMER OF 2009, MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY DEVELOPED A STRONG, FOUL ODOR FOR WHICH NO SOURCE COULD BE FOUND. I VACUUMED THE CARPET, LEFT CONTAINERS OF BAKING SODA INSIDE, AND EVEN THREW AWAY THE RUBBER FLOOR MATS, THINKING THEY HAD DETERIORATED IN THE SUMMER HEAT. THE ODOR DID NOT GO AWAY. (THE CAR HAD BEEN GARAGE-KEPT UNTIL AROUND THAT TIME.) IN 2010, WHEN TAKING THE CAR FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE APPOINTMENT, I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER TO CHECK FOR THE PROBLEM. HE WANTED TO REPLACE THE CABIN AIR FILTER, WHICH I HAD ALREADY DONE MYSELF. IN SEPTEMBER, 2011, AFTER HURRICANE IRENE, THE TAILGATE HATCH WOULD SLOSH AND SPILL WATER WHEN OPENED. THIS PAST WEEK, I WENT TO DRIVE THE CAR ON AN EXTENDED TRIP. I HAVE A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L VAN. I NOW HAVE 101,000 MILES ON IT BUT EVER SINCE 48,000 MILES, I HAVE HAD DIFFICULTY WITH THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR. I HAD A FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE SUGGESTED REPLACING THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS INVOLVED AT GREAT COST. THE DEALER FINALLY TOLD ME THERE IS A SWITCH ON THE DASH TO TURN OFF THE BUZZER BUT THE DOOR DOES NOT SHUT ALL THE WAY. THE BACK OF THE DOOR STICKS OUT A BIT AND MAKES IT SO IT WON'T LOCK. TWO OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR VAN AND HAD IT FIXED AT GREAT COST. I BROUGHT MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY INTO THE DEALER FOR A BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER RECALL. UNBEKNOWNST TO ME I WAS INFORMED THAT 2 MOTOR MOUNTS ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE COST OF $1350. THE SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE ODYSSEY AND NOT PART OF REGULAR MAINTENANCE. AN ONLINE SEARCH REVEALS THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VAN ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME SITUATION. I THOUGHT HONDA WAS KNOWN FOR SAFETY BUT IT APPEARS IT HAS ALSO EARNED THE REPUTATION FOR DEFECTIVE MOTOR MOUNTS. AT WHAT POINT WILL HONDA BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR AN OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW THAT JEOPARDIZES THE SAFETY OF ITS RIDERS? AFTER TAKING IT TO HONDA, ACCORDING TO THEIR SERVICE BULLETIN ON 11/12/08, THEY CLAIMED IT IS A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AND B-CAN DTC AFTER EXPOSURE TO THE WATER LEAKS. THE SERVICE BULLETIN CLAIMED WATER ENTER WHERE THE CONNECTOR C701 BEHIND THE LEFT REAR SIDE TRIM PANEL. THE CORRECTION ACTION IS SEAL THE PWR SLIDING DOOR PULLEY MOUNT, REPOSITION THE FOAM BLOCK, DRY CONNECTOR C701, AND APPLY DIELECTRIC GREASE TO THE CONNECTOR. IF THE ISSUE OCCURS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY, A GOODWILL CONSIDERATION WOULD BE OFFER BUT NEEDS TO BE REQUESTED. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED BEFORE THE EXPIRATION OF THE 36 MONTH/36000 MILE WARRANTY. UNFORTUNATELY, MY WIFE DID NOT TELL ME OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL A WEEK AFTER THE 36 MONTH WARRANTY EXPIRED. HONDA SHOWS THE PART NUMBER FOR THIS LIFT CYLINDER AS 74820-SHJ-A61. THIS PART NUMBER WAS USED ON 2005-2008 VEHICLES. THE LOCAL HONDA DEALER AT FIRST WAS UNWILLING TO DO ANYTHING. AFTER I INSISTED HE CALL HONDA, HE INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL IN PROGRESS. HOWEVER, SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS NOT CURRENTLY A PART OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE BEST HONDA WOULD DO WAS PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT PARTS IF I PAID THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE LABOR. THE SLIDING DOOR OF MY ODYSSEY (TOURING) MODEL WILL NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY. SIMILAR TO ANOTHER COMPLAINT, THE DOOR GETS CLOSE TO BEING CLOSED, BUT WILL NOT CLOSE EITHER ELECTRONICALLY OR MANUALLY. THE VAN IS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN WITH THE SLIDING DOOR OPEN. THIS FIRST HAPPEN AT ONLY 29K MILES AND CONTINUED TO HAPPEN PERIODICALLY UNTIL I TOOK IT TO A HONDA DEALERSHIP WHO COULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP (THAT WAS ABLE TO FIX IT) SHOWED ME THAT IT WAS A DESIGN FLAW OF THE "CENTER ROLLER" FOR THE SLIDING DOOR. THIS IS A PART LOCATED AT THE REAR OF THE DOOR ATTACHING IT TO THE VAN'S BODY. THERE ARE TWO PLASTIC ROUND PARTS THAT ACT LIKE BALL BEARING ROLLERS, AND THEY BECOME OUT OF PLACE CAUSING THE DOOR'S ALIGNMENT TO BE OFF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE DOOR NOT TO CLOSE ALL THE WAY. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE PERSON SAID IF HONDA SPENT $8 MORE ON MAKING THESE ROUND PARTS METAL INSTEAD OF PLASTIC, THE PROBLEM WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED. THE REST OF THE CENTER ROLLER PART IS MADE OF METAL. HE SAID THAT ONE ODYSSEY A WEEK COMES TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THIS PROBLEM OF THE DOOR NOT BEING ABLE TO CLOSE DUE TO THE CENTER ROLLER. *TR

INTERNAL DOOR HANDLES ON THE SLIDING DOORS ON THE 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY FREQUENTLY STICK. CONSEQUENTLY THE AUTOMATIC SIDE SLIDING DOORS DON'T FULLY LATCH OR SECURELY LOCK. THIS STILL IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM ON A VEHICLE THAT WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW. THE ISSUES WERE BROUGHT TO HONDA'S ATTENTION DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THEY ATTEMPTED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM WITH ADDITIONAL LUBRICATION, BUT THE PROBLEMS STILL PERSISTED. NOW ONCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY HAVE INFORMED US THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING FURTHER TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE, OR TO ERADICATE THE PROBLEM (AS OF ABOUT 12-10-09), AND THUS WE NOW BEAR FULL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY AND ALL REPAIRS. *TR

MY 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY DOOR HAD BEEN MALFUNCTIONING FOR A FEW MONTHS WHEN I TOOK IT IN YESTERDAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. WHEN THE AUTOMATIC REVERSING MECHANISM KICKED IN THE PREVIOUS NIGHT, A ROLLER BEARING SNAPPED OFF. I SHOWED THE BROKEN BEARING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER, BUT HE SAID HE COULDN'T FIX IT. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME TO USE THE MANUAL OVERRIDE. WHEN I GOT BACK HOME, I PUT MY DAUGHTER INTO THE MIDDLE CAR SEAT AND COULD ONLY OPEN THE SLIDING DOOR HALF WAY MANUALLY. I CLOSED IT MANUALLY AND REOPENED IT AND THE DOOR FELL OFF SMASHING INTO MY KNEES PINNING ME AGAINST THE ADJACENT CAR, AND I REQUIRED ASSISTANCE TO REMOVE THE DOOR FROM MY BODY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATER WAS NOT WORKING AND SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT THE HEATER PIPES CONTAINED MICE DROPPINGS. THE DEALER CLEANED THE HEATER PIPES AND AIR WAY FOUR TIMES, BUT THEY COULD NOT CORRECT THE DEFECT. SHE FOUND THAT THE PIPES WERE MADE WITH A CHEMICAL THAT ATTRACTS MICE, WHICH CONTRACTED AN AIRBORNE BACTERIA. HER TWO CHILDREN WERE TREATED FOR THE BACTERIA. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS DUE TO AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE. THEY FURTHER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 54,000.

THE CONDENSER IS VERY EXPOSED ON FRONT BOTTOM OF VEHICLE WITH NO PROTECTION FROM FLYING DEBRIS. SIMILAR EVENT HAS OCCURRED TO MANY OWNERS OF 2006 ODYSSEYS. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2006 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN. WHILE EXITING A PARKING LOT, I DROVE DOWN AN OBSTRUCTED ANGLED DRIVEWAY TO EXIT TO THE ROAD SURFACE AND HEARD A SCRAPE AND CRACK UNDERNEATH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER LOOKING UNDER THE VEHICLE I DISCOVERED A PLASTIC SHROUD COVERING THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS RIPPED LOOSE. FURTHERMORE, IT IS CONTINUOUS WITH THE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY WHICH WAS CRACKED. SURPRISED AT HOW EASILY THE DAMAGE OCCURRED, I MEASURED THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE PAVEMENT AND THE UNDER SURFACE OF THE PLASTIC SHROUD TO BE JUST 5 1/2 INCHES. I FEEL THE GROUND CLEARANCE OF THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS ANY MINOR ROAD DEBRIS OR UNEVEN ROAD SURFACES COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE TRAIN AND FRONT END ASSEMBLY. *JB
