I was parked at Walmart and got groceries came out opened my sliding door and it fell off the hinges due to bad hardware says it will cost 2500 to fix wtf. Then a month later the other fell off also why when there are so many other reports of this happening is there not a recall already or at least an investigation. I mean come on you don't even have an option for reporting sliding door falling off
My power sliding door pulls shut but then pops out enough to register that the door is open. Pulling on the door does not pull away from the body when it is physically pulled. The power door button on the dash and the key fob do not work for that same door. I have tried shutting off and turning on the switch with no response. I'm afraid that the door will slide open while driving.
We drove the Honda Odyssey 2007 to a nearby swimming pool and opened the driver side sliding door. The door resisted opening and fell off onto the ground. Nobody was hurt but someone was almost hurt. The door had made grinding noises and was difficult to open for about a week before the incident happened.

Paint chipping and peeling and fading
When closing the drivers sliding door the door fell off both hinges completely, crashing to the ground.
Paint is peeling off. When I touch the paint, it peels and flakes off. I can't even wash certain areas of it now because when I spray the water hose at it, the paint flakes off.
Power sliding doors on EXL model becomes slightly ajar/open after the door is closed and the power to the sliding doors is off. Furthermore, door slid open while the vehicle is moving (happened 3 times over the years) with our family dog falling out of the car in the most recent situation. (In the other two times, door slid open next to my kids who were buckled in and thus were not harmed). Please note that for the Honda Odyssey, all doors are automatically locked when the transmission is shifted out of PARK. Thus the door should not open on its own especially while the vehicle is moving. Dealership cannot replicate the problem and wants to replace the door latches which have previously been replaced (when the first two incidents happened). Even with this repair, they cannot guarantee that the door will not slide open while the vehicle is moving.
Right passenger door feel off hinge and hung. I had to catch the door since I was by myself. Yes issue was confirmed with dealer. No inspection from insurance or police. No indications of failure of door, automatic door function was not work so manual function was engaged.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND BETTER PARTS NEED TO BE MADE.

THE PAINT ON THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS SCRATCHED BADLY AND THE VEHICLE REQUIRED A TOW AND A TRIP TO THE MECHANIC. THE DOOR FELL OFF AGAIN ONLY A WEEK LATER.

WHILE MY DAUGHTER AND I TRIED PUTTING THE DOOR BACK ON THE DOOR SLIPPED OUT OF THE TRACK AGAIN AND DAMAGED THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, DENTING THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR. THAT AFTERNOON I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALER IN GRANDVILLE MICHIGAN AND TALKED TO RANDY HOWES. HE REFUSED TO LISTEN TO ME AND DIRECTED ME TO LOOK IN THE MANUAL AND CONTACT HONDA. SO I CALLED THE 1-800 NUMBER IN MY MANUAL. I RETOLD WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS A SERIOUS INCIDENT AND THAT I WOULD HEAR BACK WITH IN 2 DAYS. AFTER A WEEK A BEGAN CALLING AGAIN, I FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL BACK FROM RIO WARDANA FROM HONDA. I RETOLD HIM AGAIN WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND TOLD HIM I WANTED THE DOOR FIXED AND THE DAMAGED FIXED THAT THE DOOR CAUSED. HE WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND TOLD ME HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF ANY DOOR FALLING OFF A HONDA VAN. I INFORMED HIM OF THE 100S OF COMPLAINTS ON LINE BUT HE REFUSED TO LISTEN. I WAS TOLD THE DOOR FALLING OFF WAS MY FAULT AND NOT HONDAS. I ASKED HIM WHAT TO DO BECAUSE THE OTHER DOOR WAS ACTING FUNNY AS WELL. HE SAID TO USE THE HATCH BACK DOOR FOR ENTERING IF I NEEDED TO AND HE HUNG UP ON ME. I HAVE BEEN BATTLING HONDA EVER SINCE AND CAN GET NO WHERE. MY DOOR IS NOT DANGEROUS. I CANNOT HAVE MY CHILDREN NEAR IT WITH THE FEAR OF IT FALLING OFF AGAIN AND I CAN FIND NO ONE TO HELP ME WITH THIS CASE. THE TRASH BAGS HAD BLOWN OFF AND THE SEATS WERE WET, THE DOOR HAD SCRATCHED THE EXTERIOR OF THE VAN DEEPLY. THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY WHICH WAS MONDAY THE 4TH, I CALLED MY HONDA SERVICE STATION AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED HE SAID HE HAD HEARD ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT I NEEDED TO CALL HONDA CORPORATE AND SEE IF THEY WOULD PAY FOR REPAIRS. I CALLED CORPORATE AND WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO HE HIGH MILEAGE OF MY VEHICLE THEY WOULD NOT PAY. I TOLD HIM THAT WHILE RESEARCHING WHY THE DOOR WOULD JUST POP OUT, I FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND NOT ALL THE VANS HAD HIGH MILEAGE BUT HONDA REFUSED TO HELP THEM TOO IT WAS UNSAFE WHEN THE DOOR WAS SHAKING AND CLOSING AS WE WOULD TRY TO GET IN OR OUT BUT NOW WE CANNOT GET OUT OF THAT DOOR IN CASE OF ANEMERGENCY I BELIEVE HONDA HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THESE DOORS AND IS REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT.

ACCORDING TO THE DRIVER OF THE SECOND CAR, DRIVER OF CAR ONE SLAMMED ON HER BRAKES AFTER TAKING OFF. I THAN RAN INTO CAR NUMBER TWO. I SUSTAINED FRONT END DAMAGE AND MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.

WHEN IT IS BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE ROAD/HIGHWAY THE DOOR OPEN LIGHT IS ON, THE DOOR IS NOT CLOSED COMPLETELY AND ROAD/HIGHWAY NOISE IS HEARD FROM THE PARTIALLY OPEN DOOR. ON OCCASION, (WHEN TURNING RIGHT, GOING DOWNHILL, GOING OVER CERTAIN BUMPS) THE LIGHT WILL GO OFF AND THE DOOR WILL "CLOSE" BUT THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY. AS SOON AS THE TURN IS FINISHED, NOT GOING DOWNHILL, OR GO OVER ANOTHER SMALL BUMP, THE DOOR WILL POP OPEN IN THE BACK AND THE LIGHT WILL TURN BACK ON. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE CHILDREN ARE TRANSPORTED IN THE VEHICLE!

NEITHER COULD BE OPENED VIA REMOTE OR PHYSICAL LEVEL (INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR). AT THE SAME TIME, THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT STOPPED LIGHTING. THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT EXPLAIN THE COINCIDENCE, WHICH SUGGESTS SOME SORT OF ELECTICAL ISSUE WHICH BROKE MULTIPLE ACTUATORS, BUT REGARDLESS IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. RIGHT NOW OCCUPANTS COULD VERY WELL BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. THE DEALER HAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE OF $1000 TO REPAIR, AND I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ADDRESS THE ISSUE AT THEIR EXPENSE AS THERE ARE MANY, MANY REPORTS OF HONDAS SUFFERING FROM THESE DOOR AND LIFTGATE ISSUES. THE PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING REAR DOOR BEGAN INTERMITTENTLY HAVING ISSUES CLOSING-IT WOULD CLOSE ABOUT 75% OF THE WAY, THEN BEEP AS IT DOES IF THERE IS AN OBJECT BLOCKING IT'S PATH, THEN OPEN BACK UP. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL THE DOOR TO HELP GUIDE IT CLOSED. BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO THE HONDA DEALER, THE DRIVER SIDE POWER SLIDING REAR DOOR BEGAN DOING SOMETHING SIMILAR. IT WOULD CLOSE ONLY ABOUT 90%, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO PULL IT FULLY CLOSED. I FLIPPED THE SWITCH TO TURN THE DOORS FROM POWER OPERATION TO MANUAL OPERATION, THINKING EVERYTHING WOULD BE OK. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CLOSED MANUALLY. HOWEVER, WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION, I TRIED TO OPEN THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR (SWITCH WAS STILL IN THE MANUAL POSITION), AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO OPEN IT ABOUT 8-10 INCHES. I COULD NOT GET MY 2 YR OLD DAUGHTER OUT OF HER CAR SEAT. I PUSHED WITH ALL OF MY STRENGTH, AND IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I RAN BACK AROUND, FLIPPED THE SWITCH BACK TO AUTO, AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE DOOR OPEN THAT WAY. HOWEVER, THIS ORDEAL HAS SHOWN ME A SEVERE SAFETY FLAW WITH THE POWER SLIDING DOORS ON THE 2007 ODYSSEY. IF WE HAD BEEN IN A SITUATION WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE--POSSIBLY FROM THE NOW RECALLED FUEL MECHANISM THAT CAN CATCH FIRE--I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET THEM OUT. IN AN EMERGENCY, WHEN EVERY SECOND COUNTS, THE DOOR ISSUE COULD LITERALLY HAVE MADE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH. IN 2010 I HAD TO HAVE 3 OUT OF THE 4 MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED ON MY ENGINE AND THEN LAST WEEK I WAS TOLD THAT I NEED TO REPLACE 2 OF THE MOTOR MOUNTS. I WAS TOLD BY THE HONDA SERVICE CENTER THIS IS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEM AND THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO HAVE THEM REPLACED AGAIN 4 YEARS LATER. I'VE ALSO SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT VARIOUS MODELS OF HONDA ODYSSEYS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. YOUR ENGINE SHAKES TERRIBLY AT START AND WHILE IDLING AND HAS A HARD KICK WHEN YOU START TO GO FROM BRAKING AND IDLING AND JERKS FORWARD WHICH I CAN ONLY ATTRIBUTE TO THIS PROBLEM. ON 11/3/2013 THIS STRUTS AGAIN FAILED INSTANTANEOUSLY (USED WITHOUT PROBLEMS AROUND 2PM), FAILED AT 4:30PM. THIS IS LESS THAN TWO YEARS SINCE LAST REPLACEMENT FOR A MAJOR FUNCTIONALLY NECESSARY COMPONENT OF THE MINI-VAN. HONDA WAS CONTACTED AND CLAIMS THERE ARE NO KNOWN DEFECTS WITH THE STRUTS AND THAT THEY ARE "FAR" OUTSIDE THE REPLACEMENT WARRANTY WINDOW OF 12 MONTHS. I THINK THAT HONDA HAS IN THIS CASE DESIGNED AND PRODUCED FAULTY MOTOR MOUNTS (I THINK THAT EACH HONDA ODYSSEY ENGINE HAS 5 MOTOR MOUNTS). I ALSO THINK THAT HONDA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO REPLACE THE FAULTY MOTOR MOUNTS AT NO COST TO THE VEHICLE'S OWNERS AND SHOULD REIMBURSE OWNERS (CURRENT AND PRIOR) FOR ANY RELATED REPAIR COSTS. ON 1/23/12 WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE DRIVERS SIDE POWER SLIDING DOOR WITH REMOTE, IT WAS NOTED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE, SAID DOOR CLOSED ABOUT HALF-WAY AND THEN REOPENED. I OPENED THE ABOVE DOOR USING THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE, THE DOOR BEGAN TO OPEN. WHEN IT (SLIDING DOOR) WAS JUST ABOUT COMPLETELY OPEN (MORE THAN 3/4 OPEN BUT NOT FULLY), MY SIX YEAR-OLD SON ATTEMPTED TO CLIMB INTO THE VAN (SOMETHING HE HAS DONE BEFORE WITHOUT THERE EVER BEING A PROBLEM) WHEN THE DOOR BEGAN TO CLOSE ON ITS OWN! THANKFULLY, I WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL HIM OUT OF HARMS WAY AND STOP THE DOOR FROM CLOSING ON HIM. THE DOOR THEN OPENED, WHEN I PHYSICALLY STOPPED IT FROM CLOSING ON MY SON, AND THEN BEGAN TO CLOSE AGAIN AND THEN OPEN, TO WHERE IT STAYED. IT WAS THEN THAT I TURNED OFF THE POWER SLIDER AND CLOSED THE DOOR MANUALLY. I REALIZE NOWHERE ON THIS FORM DOES IT ASK FOR POTENTIAL INJURIES, HOWEVER THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEVASTATING. 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN. WE NOTICED TWO SMALL STAINS ON THE CARPET IN THE REAR STORAGE AREA, WHERE THE 3RD ROW SEATS CAN BE STORED. WE TRIED TO CLEAN THE CARPET WITH RESOLVE, BUT THAT MADE THE STAINS BIGGER. WHEN WE VACUUMED THE CARPET, WE FOUND AN OILY RESIDUE WITH THE CONSISTENCY OF LITHIUM GREASE IN THE VACUUM ATTACHMENT. WE REMOVED THE REAR SEATS AND FOLDED THE CARPETING BACK. THERE'S A GRAY PANEL OF SOUNDPROOFING OR SOMETHING ELSE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARGO AREA, AND THAT PANEL IS DISINTEGRATING, LEAVING BEHIND A TARRY RESIDUE. THE TARRY RESIDUE IS WHAT REACHED UP THROUGH THE CARPET TO CAUSE THE STAIN. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE PANEL ITSELF IS DISINTEGRATING. THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOORS OF THE 2007 HONDA ODYSSEY EX-L ENTRAPPED MY 5 YEAR OLDS LEFT HAND AT THE BACK OF THE DOOR. HE HAS SWELLING, BRUISING, AND ABRASIONS. IT DOES NOT APPEAR THAT THERE IS PERMANENT DAMAGE. HOWEVER, THE PROXIMITY OF THE SEAT AND SEAT BELT TO THE REAR DOOR JAM IS CONDUCIVE FOR THIS TYPE OF INJURY. THE DOOR SHOULD IMMEDIATELY REVERSE IF IT ENCOUNTERS ANY RESISTANCE TO CLOSING AT ANY PART OF THE DOOR. IT CURRENTLY ONLY STOPS IT'S MOTION IF THE FRONT PART OF THE DOOR ENCOUNTERS SIGNIFICANT FORCE. *TR
