A few years ago the driver's side rear sliding door stopped working. This seemed like a safety because, if there were ever an incident such as a fire, people would not be able to expeditiously exit the back two rows of the van. There were no warnings, the door just stopped working. I spoke with our mechanic about it and he stated that he had seen that with several Honda Odyssey vans. I had the door repaired. I recently learned that this had been an issue with other Honda Odyssey vans and wanted to let you know it had also happened to me.

Yesterday(7/9/23) when trying to open and close our back sliding door on the drivers side it was making a louder grinding sound and was difficult to open/shut. No warning lights. Today when pushing the button to open the door it started to open and then fell off the frame on the top and mid rail. Only connected by the bottom rail. It appears that the mid rail/ slider is the part that failed causing the door to come off its hinges. It also caused large deep scratches to the body of the car. This is a serious safety concern. The door is heavy and could have hurt someone. We are very lucky that my kids were still strapped safely in their car seats. We strapped the door to the car in an open position and have not gotten it inspected yet. Upon researching I have now seen hundreds of reports of this same thing happening to others.

Power sliding doors stopped working. No access to middle row seats due to having no manual opening features. In an emergency, I would be unable to remove my children from their seats. This should be recalled immediately before someone becomes trapped in this car.

The driver side passenger sliding automatic door stopped working. When opening it manually I started hearing a little grinding noise and it was hard to open. I opened the door to put my daughter in and the door fell off to the ground.

I opened the sliding door for my 5 yr old grandson, and while he was getting in the sliding door Opened and shut while he was getting in an almost closed him in by squeezed him alil I had to push the button instantly to open back up.an it happened when we was at the zoo also it Opened half way an was closing on its own

Hello yes this has been happening since May2022,,sometimes my sliding door will open then shut while someone is trying to get in,or it won't shut it will close the Open right back up while driving or sitting, so several times either my children or my grandmother was getting in after I opened the sliding door, an all of a sudden it almost smashed my 3 yr old she jumped in so fast it almost caught her leg, an the same thing with my grandmother, she was getting in an it shut without me closing it,an 1 day we was on the highway and the driver side opened automatically I had to pull over to the side of highway and it wouldn't shut after 10 tries, I had to actually grab the handle an pull it shut. An I asked a dealership about this and he said numerous of people have been complaining about this problem with Honda vans.

The Honda Odyssey I own has paint coming out from the roof and tail. Looking around on the road, I saw many other white Honda Odyssey with similar problems. When doing a search on the web, I saw the recall notice for Honda Odyssey 2011-12. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10161239-0001.pdf My Honda Odyssey is a 2010 model but with same color and similar problems with exterior paint. This would result in corrosion and ultimately the safety of the vehicle. I am attaching the pictures of my vehicle. I did contact Honda and they advised me to get the vehicle inspected at their service center. I am scheduled to visit them for diagnosis soon, but wanted to share what I found as there recall with 2011-12 is something that clearly extends to other years model as well.

The drivers side sliding door fell off upon opening. Honda says they are not liable for this issue yet I have found over 5,000 complaints in various fourms concerning this issue. My children were almost injured and something needs to be done about this issue please.

THE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR FELL OFF WHEN TRYING TO PUT MY KIDS IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NOT ON. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PUSH MY 3 YEAR OLD OUT IF THE WAY OR HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERLY INJURED. INSTEAD, HE JUST HAS SCRAPED NEED AND IS CONFUSED WHY I PUSHED HIM. I HURT MY WRIST AND BACK CATCHING THE DOOR. PICTURE IS AFTER I WAS ABLE TO SOMEHOW GET IT CLOSED.

HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE NOT BEING ABLE TO FULLY CLOSE THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. TODAY, I TRIED TO OPEN IT BUT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WAS MAKING GRINDING NOISE AND ONLY OPENING 1/3 OF THE WAY ON THE AUTOMATIC SETTING. I DISENGAGED THE AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR FUNCTION AND OPENED IT MANUALLY. SLID OPEN NO PROBLEM. I REENGAGED THE AUTO SETTING WHEN I WENT TO CLOSE THE DOOR. IT STARTED TO SLIDE CLOSE AND A LITTLE LESS THAN HALF WAY, IT FELL AT ME, COMING COMPLETELY OFF THE CAR OTHER THAN A SMALL GUIDE WIRE IN THE CENTER. I CAN NOT GET IT BACK INTO PLACE AND AM LOOKING INTO GETTING IT TOWED TO BE REPAIRED. WHEN THE CENTER ROLLER CAME OFF THE TRACK IT LEFT GIGANTIC GASHES IN THE PAINT/METAL ON THE SIDE OF THE VAN.

THE SIDE DOORS FELL OFF THE TRACK. BOTH OF THEM WITHIN DAYS. ONE WHEN OPENING IT AND THE OTHER DRIVING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY. I'M JUST GLAD IT DIDNT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THAT SERIOUSLY COULD HAVE HURT SOMEONE. I LOOKED THIS ISSUE UP AND FOUND IT IS VERY COMMON ON THESE VAN'S AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS HAPPEN. ONE DOOR IS NOW HELD ON WITH A STRAP AND THE OTHER ONE WE GOT CLOSED AND BACK ON BUT WE CANNOT OPEN THEM. MY KIDS HAVE TO CLIMB OVER THE FRONT SEATS TO GET TO THEIR SEATS. I AM VERY WORRIED THEY WILL FLY OFF DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY LIKE I'VE READ OTHERS HAVE. THE SIDE OF MY VAN IS ALL SCRATCHED UP FROM THEM FALLING OFF TOO.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BIANCHI HONDA (LOCATED AT 8430 PEACH ST, ERIE, PA 16509,(814) 868-9678) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR ON THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED IN JULY OF 2019. ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2019, WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BUTTON TO OPEN THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE SLIDING DOOR, THE CONTACT REACHED INSIDE THE SLIDING DOOR AS IT STARTED TO CLOSE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED LEFT RIB AND INJURIES TO THE UPPER RIGHT BACK AND SHOULDER. THERE WAS ALSO PAIN ON THE CONTACT'S RIGHT CALF. THE CONTACT SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION AND WAS BREATHING IN A MACHINE FOR HER LUNGS NOT TO COLLAPSE. SHE ALSO VISITED AN ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON FOR THE MUSCLES IN HER BACK AND SHOULDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

RIGHT (PASSENGER) SLIDING CARGO DOOR FELL OFF TRACK AND GOUGED THE SIDE PANEL OF THE VAN. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN DRIVEWAY. NOTICED IN WEEK PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT THAT THERE WAS A GRINDING SOUND WHEN OPENING DOOR, AND IT WOULD SOMETIME CATCH AND RE-OPEN WHEN CLOSING AS THOUGH IT HIT AN OBSTACLE. DEALER MENTIONED MAYBE SOME SAND OR GRIT IN ASSEMBLY. IN DRIVEWAY, WE OPENED DOOR THEN WALKED AWAY TO THROW SOMETHING IN TRASH HEARD A NOISE AND CAME BACK TO FIND THE DOOR HAD FALLEN OFF AND WAS HANGING FROM THE CABLE USED BY THE POWER OPEN/CLOSE MECHANISM. SIGNIFICANTLY DAMAGED CAR FURTHER TRYING TO GET IT TO CLOSE ENOUGH TO TO TAKE TO REPAIR SHOP AND PREVENT DAMAGE FROM IMPENDING RAIN AT TIME OF INCIDENT. WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIGHT THE POWER MECHANISM AND TO TURN THE HEAVY DOOR THE CORRECT WAY TO GET ALL THE PIECES IN THEIR CORRECT RAILS AND POSITION, NEVER DID GET ENTIRELY CLOSED. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER ADVISED TO TAKE TO BODY SHOP. BODY SHOP SENT ME BACK TO DEALER WHO WOULD NOT TAKE VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL DAYS BUT THEN ENDED UP FIXING THE DOOR THE SAME DAY FOR ABOUT $575. THE BODY DAMAGE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED.

NOT LONG AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP (ONE PREVIOUS OWNER) THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR STARTED FREEZING UP. WE COULD NEITHER OPEN NOR CLOSE IT PROPERLY. WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN, WE WERE SHOCKED WHEN THE MECHANIC TOLD US HE SAW THE PROBLEM ALL THE TIME ON THAT MODEL, AND THAT WE WERE LUCKY THE DOOR HAD NOT FALLEN OFF ON US, BECAUSE HE HAD SEEN IT HAPPEN TO OTHERS. WE HAVE THREE LITTLE KIDS...MOST MINIVAN OWNERS HAVE YOUNG KIDS! THEY REPLACED THE CHEAP PLASTIC ROLLERS WITH MORE CHEAP PLASTIC ROLLERS (WHY OF WHY IS THIS HONDA'S ONLY OPTION TO SUPPORT A HUGE, HEAVY STEEL DOOR?!) AND REMOVED THE AUTOMATIC MECHANISM ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOW WE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC DOOR. IT IS COMPLETELY FROZEN (AT THIS POINT IT'S FROZEN WHETHER IT'S IN AUTOMATIC MODE OR MANUAL), AND I HAVE LEFT IT SHUT THAT WAY BECAUSE I WOULD RATHER HAVE MY KIDS CLIMB IN THE OTHER SIDE, AND BUCKLE MY 4 YEAR OLD IN THROUGH THE WINDOW, THAN TRY TO OPEN IT AND RISK HAVING IT FALL ON SOMEONE. I HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER MOTHERS IN MY TOWN WHO OWN THIS SAME CAR AND HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DOORS. THIS IS NOT JUST AN INCONVENIENCE, IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE! WHAT IF BOTH DOORS FROZE ON SOMEONE DURING AN ACCIDENT AND THEY COULDN'T GET THEIR KIDS OUT? WHAT IF THE DOOR FELL OFF ON A CHILD?! AN ADULT MIGHT SUFFER ONLY MINOR INJURIES FROM SUCH A THING, BUT A CHILD WOULD BE CRUSHED. THERE ARE REPORTS OF THIS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE INTERNET, WITH HONDA USUALLY TELLING THE OWNERS THE PROBLEM IS SOMEHOW THEIR FAULT. TOYOTA HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON THE SIENNA AND THEY DID A RECALL. NOW WE'VE ALL HAD MANY CARS AND SOME DO BETTER THAN OTHERS. THE HONDA PAINT HAS TO RANK LAST ON A LONG LIST OF PAST PAINT JOBS. IT HAS LITERALLY PEELED OFF THE TOP OF THE CAR BY THE WINDOW AND SUNROOF AND HAS LOST ITS CLEAR COAT SO THE PAINT JUST DOESN'T LOOK GOOD. WHEN YOU ASK THEM ABOUT IT THEY RESPONDED WE DON'T COVER THAT . HONDA, YOU MAKE SUCH A GOOD CAR BUT CANT GET THE PAINT RIGHT? C'MON. I SEE MORE WHITE HONDA VANS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AS MINE. THIS IS AWFUL WE HAVE NOW MADE A GAME OUT OF IT CALLED I SPY, WHO CAN FIND THE WHITE HONDA ODYSSEY WITH THE SAME PAINT PEELING SPOTS LIKE OURS. WE DO A LOT OF DRIVING LOCAL AND ROAD TRIPS.YOU WOULD BE AMAZED HOW MANY THERE ARE OUT THERE. HONDA THERE IS SOMETHING YOU COULD DO. ITS EMBARRASSING TO DIVE THIS CAR AROUND. THE FRONT DOOR DETENTS ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH, AND THEY WILL ALLOW THE DOOR TO CLOSE BY ITSELF. IF YOU ARE ON AN INCLINE, OR IT IS A WINDY DAY, THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS FOR YOUNGER CHILDREN, AND MYSELF, WHEN GETTING IN OR OUT OF THE VEHILCE. OF NOTE, HONDA USES THE SAME DETENT, WITH THE SAME PART NUMBER, ON A CIVIC, WHICH HAS A MUCH SMALLER AND LIGHTER DOOR, AS IT DOES ON THE ODYSSEY, WHICH HAS A MUCH LARGER DOOR. I CURRENTLY OWN A 2003 CHRYSLER VAN, AND A 1998 BMW, AND NEITHER OF WHICH HAVE THIS PROBLEM. AND FOR THAT MATTER, NONE OF THE OTHER CARS I HAVE OWNED HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. THE SOLUTION IS A SIMPLE REDESIGN OF THE DOOR DETENT TO ACCOUNT FOR THE HEAVIER ODYSSEY DOOR. ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL. ALSO OF NOTE, I DID REPLACE THE DOOR DETENT, AND THE NEW DETENT IS AS BAD AS THE OLD DETENT. A REDESIGN IS REQUIRED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED AND ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE AN OBJECT FROM THE TRUNK, THE OBJECT WAS FOUND TO BE WET AND MOLDED. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE WHOLE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND THE REAR HEADLINER WERE WET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAMS THAT MEET THE ROOF RAILS WERE SEPARATING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 68,000.

THE NYLON GUIDE ROLLERS ON THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR BROKE. THESE ROLLERS APPARENTLY CONTRIBUTE TO KEEPING THE DOOR UP AND INSIDE THE GUIDE RAIL. THIS CAUSED THE DOOR TO DROP AND BE SUSPENDED BY THE MOTORIZED CABLE THAT OPENS/CLOSES THE DOOR AND CANTILEVERED OFF OF THE BOTTOM GUIDE. THIS HAPPENED AFTER BEING PARKED AND ACTUATING THE DOOR. THERE WAS A SOUND OF THE NYLON GUIDES CRACKING AND THE SLIDER HITTING THE BODY PANEL. THE VEHICLE HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT. I CONSIDER IT UNSAFE THAT THE DOOR BECAME UNUSABLE AND WOULD NOT RETURN CLOSED UNLESS UNBOLTED AND PUSHED IN. IT THEN DID NOT LATCH AND HAD TO BE CHAINED/TIED DOWN. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP REPAIRED THE DOOR. THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND I MUST HAVE HAD A COMMUNICATION ISSUE. IT WAS CHARACTERIZED IN THE ITEMIZED STATEMENT DIFFERENTLY THAN MY VERBAL DISCUSSIONS WITH THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE. IT WAS WRITTEN UP AS A DOOR JAM. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE PERSON WAS QUITE FAMILIAR WITH THE ISSUE I EXPERIENCED AND SAID IT WAS NOT UNCOMMON. I WAS ADVISED IF THE DOOR BECAME COMPLETELY DETACHED TO GO TO A BODY SHOP FIRST. MY INSTANCE WAS NOT THAT SEVERE.

SIMILAR TO CAMPAIGN ID # 12V062000 (FOR OLDER 2008-09 ODYSSEYS), THE TAILGATE ON MY 2010 ODYSSEY HAS FAILED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. OPENING IT VIA ELECTRICAL BUTTONS (IN-CAR DASHBOARD OR REMOTE BUTTONS) RESULTS IN THE TAILGATE RAISING, BOUNCING UP AND DOWN, THEN CLOSING RIGHT BACK DOWN. OPENING IT MANUALLY PRODUCES ADDITIONAL RESISTANCE TO OPENING THAT WASN'T THERE BEFORE THE FAILURE; THEN THE TAILGATE REFUSES TO STAY UP IN THE OPEN POSITION AND SLAMS DOWN WITH ADDITIONAL FORCE THAT CAN HURT AN ADULT, AND SERIOUSLY INJURE A CHILD. TAIL LIGHTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER PENETRATION WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY SHORT OUT THE TAIL LIGHTS. THIS APPLIES TO THE PORTION OF THE TAIL LIGHT WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE REAR HATCH DOOR. WATER ACCUMULATES IN THE WHITE PART OF THE LENS WHICH IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TAIL LIGHT IN 201 VAN (I.E., THE BACK UP LIGHTS). THERE IS APPARENTLY A DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE SEALED LIGHT SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD THE GASKET ON THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT REPLACED IN MY 2010 ODYSSEY DUE TO WATER PENETRATION & COLLECTION. THE FIRST TIME WE HAD AN ISSUE WE WERE IN THE COUNTRY AND WE STOPPED AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR. WHEN WE GOT BACK IN THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE. MY 21 MONTH OLD CHILD WAS STANDING AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE IN OUR GARAGE AS I GOT THINGS OUT OF THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO CLOSING THE DOOR. I PUSHED THE BUTTON THAT AUTOMATICALLY CLOSES THE DOOR AS I LEANED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE TO RETRIEVE ITEMS FROM THE VEHICLE. WE PURCHASED A 2010 BRAUN ENTERVAN IN LATE 2011. IT WAS NEW WITH 17 MILES. WE NOTICED WATER COLLECTING UNDER FRONT SEATS AT ABOUT 15000 MILES. IT WAS RUSTING OUR SEAT ANCHORS WHICH COULD LEAD TO FAILURE IN A CRASH. IT ALSO HAS PERSISTENT STEERING PROBLEMS AND TIRE WEARING AT 15000 MILES. IT WAS RETURNED TO BRAUN FOR REPAIR BECAUSE WE INSISTED AND WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE BRAUN CORPORATION. THEY ATTEMPTED REPAIRS BUT RETURNED TO US WITH MORE ISSUES AND A CONTINUED STEERING PROBLEM.THIS WAS THEIR FIRST YEAR DOING A HONDA ENTERVAN CONVERSION AND THEY HAVE OFFERED A 5000.00 SUPPLEMENT TOWARD A TRADE. OUR LOCAL DEALER HAS LED US TO BELIEVE HE WOULD TRADE BUT WILL NOT FOLLOW THROUGH, I FIRMLY BELIEVE HE DOES NOT WANT THIS VEHICLE BACK. HE SAID IT WAS A JUNK DEAL. IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM TO SELL US. I BELIEVE THIS BRAUN HONDA ENTERVAN 2010 MODEL MAY NEED A FORMAL RECALL. SOME HANDICAPPED PEOPLE MAY NOT BE REMOVING THE FRONT SEATS TO NOTICE THESE WATER PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE MOLD WHEN THE CARPET REMAINS WET. I ALSO HAVE CONCERNS THAT CARBON MONOXIDE COULD BE ENTERING THE VEHICLE IF WATER CAN GET IN CLOSE TO THE FIREWALL. WE BELIEVE DURING THE CONVERSION SOMETHING GOT OUT OF ALIGNMENT CAUSING EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR AND STEERING PROBLEMS,. THIS IS AN ON-GOING SAFETY ISSUE AND POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT DEFECT INVOLVING THE CHECK ROD MECHANISM ON THE FRONT DOORS OF THE VEHICLE. THE CHECK RODS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE RESISTANCE TO KEEP THE DOOR OPEN. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND THE FRONT DOOR IS IN THE FULLY OPENED POSITION, THE DOOR IS PRONE TO SWING SHUT. THIS OCCURS IN A VARIETY OF SITUATIONS: ON A LEVEL SURFACE, IF THE DOOR IS PUSHED OPEN, THE DOOR WILL SOMETIMES SWING BACK ON THE OCCUPANT; THE FULLY OPENED DOOR WILL ALSO SWING SHUT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ON EVEN A SLIGHT INCLINE OR IS BLOWN BY A GUST OF WIND. THE CHECK RODS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE RESISTANCE TO KEEP THE DOOR IN THE OPEN POSITION WHEN FULLY EXTENDED. THESE ARE VERY HEAVY DOORS AND COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. MY WIFE AND I HAVE BOTH EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS INSTANCES IN WHICH THE DOOR HAS STARTED SWINGING SHUT IN EACH OF THESE SITUATIONS. I DISCUSSED THIS CONCERN WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO AMERICAN HONDA (CASE # [XXX]). I COMPARED THE FRONT DOOR CHECK ROD MECHANISM IN THE 2012 HONDA ODYSSEY ON THE DEALER?S LOT. THE CHECK ROD ON THE 2012 ODYSSEY FUNCTIONED PROPERLY, CREATING AN APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF RESISTANCE WHEN THE DOOR WAS FULLY EXTENDED. THE SERVICE MANAGER ORDERED A SET OF 2012 ODYSSEY CHECK RODS, WITH THE HOPE THEY COULD BE INSTALLED ON MY 2010 ODYSSEY. UNFORTUNATELY, THE 2012 RODS DID NOT MATCH AND COULD NOT BE INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE. AMERICAN HONDA HAS DECLINED TO TAKE ANY REMEDIAL ACTION. I STRONGLY SUSPECT THAT THE DEFECT IN THE CHECK ROD USED IN THE 2010 ODYSSEY MODEL LED TO A REDESIGN OF THE CHECK ROD MECHANISM FOR SUBSEQUENT VEHICLE YEARS. ON AT LEAST 2 OCCASIONS, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO UNLOCK EVEN WHEN USING MULTIPLE METHODS TO UNLOCK IT. EVEN WHEN THE KNOB ON THE DOOR WAS LIFTED MANUALLY, THE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK AND OPEN. AFTER TRYING DIFFERENT THINGS (KEY FOB, AUTO DOOR UNLOCK BUTTON, MANUALLY LIFTING THE LOCKING KNOB), IT FINALLY OPENED. WE THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A GLITCH WHEN SOMEONE TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR AT THE SAME TIME THAT THE DOOR UNLOCK BUTTON WAS PUSHED, BUT SINCE READING A REPORT OF A SIMILAR INCIDENT ON AN ODYSSEY, THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE LOCKING MECHANISM. ONCE THE KNOB WAS LIFTED MANUALLY, THE DOOR SHOULD HAVE OPENED REGARDLESS.

THE SLIDING DOORS TO OUR 2010 HONDA ODYSSEY HAVE FAILED TO CLOSE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE ROLLER THAT THEY RUN ON BRAKES AND CAUSES THE DOOR NOT TO CLOSE. IT WILL OPEN BUT NOT CLOSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US THREE TIMES AND IT WAS TODAY TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR THE SECOND TIME. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN ANYPLACE SUCH AS A STOP ON THE SHOULDER OF A MAJOR HIGHWAY TO SWITCH DRIVERS.
