The car is not shifting properly and lags or hesitates when changing gears. This issue causes the car to jerk, particularly when transitioning from lower gears to higher ones. Additionally, there has recently been a noise coming from the driver's side wheel, although the brake pads are in good condition.

I purchased a used vehicle from an auto auction. After the purchase, I discovered through Carfax and AutoCheck reports that the vehicle had a history of severe damage and an odometer discrepancy, both of which were not disclosed prior to the sale. The vehicle was sold with a Clean Title that stated “Actual Mileage,” but available records contradict this, indicating possible odometer fraud and prior total loss or structural damage. This raises concerns of title washing — where previous branded or salvage titles are "washed" clean through certain state DMVs — and calls into question the accuracy of the title issued shortly before the sale. The clean title was issued just one day before the auction sale, despite existing documentation showing serious history issues. The current situation poses a potential safety risk if the structural integrity was compromised in the previous damage. I still have the documents and inspection results available upon request. No resolution has been offered despite raising the issue with the auction.

May 31, 2025 Crash

On Saturday, May 24, 2025. I had my foot on the break as I was turning into the driveway of the building. Suddenly the car engine reved and the car acceletated toward the building wall. As this was happening I began to pump on the break and the car only stopped because it it hit the curb. This cause my passenger and me to lunge forward. My passenger hurt their wrist putting their hands on the dash as they braced for impact and I hit my forehead on the stearing wheel. . The airbags did not deploy. My cars front bumper was pushed in at the bottom and out on the right side. Thank God there was no one walking on the side walk,. The car could have crashed iinto a person or the building. There were no warning indicators .There was no police called since no one was seriously injured and the only damage done was to my car. I then carfully and slowly drove the car home and parked it. I had to wait till Tuesday to take the car to the mechanic. He kept it for 2 days and could not find anything wrong. This was very scary and I am afraid the continue driving this car. This had never happenef before. I would like the car checked for any recalls and inspected by the dealer.

My wife was driving our 2014 Odyssey. She went to visit a neighbor. As she pulled up in the driveway and applied the brakes the car acceleration engaged. She was unable to stop the car. I hit the neighbors garage door, totaling it and damaged both of their cars inside. She had complained previously about what she had described as a braking problem. The car was taken into Honda service to check out the brakes and they were inspected and the car road tested and nothing was found. Since the accident the body was has been repaired and the car was returned to Honda for a diagnostic check-up and nothing was found again. I have a customer service claim with Honda USA but have not heard back from their claims manager.

my engine sparkplugs keep getting oil fouled causing rapid deceleration of van and check engine light to turn on damaging plugs, this only happens in the cylinder head closet to firewall, this engine defect may be due to Honda VCM system. Honda effuses to acknowledge my complaint. the other problem is the transmission that shacks the van and slams as I come to a stop I started to complain at 26,000 miles but they would not fix it unless it failed completely at 95,000 when it got worse Honda said it was out of warranty.

This is now the THIRD time my transmission has died (while driving). My vehicle only has 85,000 miles, There is clearly a recall that needs to happen. Honda needs to also act honorable and repair my vehicle free of charge as this transmission they put in only a few years ago.

I THEN SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE WENT TO RED LINE. I PUSHED THE POWER BUTTON. NO ONE WAS INJURED, AND THE VEHICLE DIDN'T TOUCH ANYTHING AS THE DRIVETHROUGH AHEAD OF ME WAS EMPTY. THE DAY BEFORE, THE LDW AND FCW FAIL LIGHT CAME ON IN THE DASHBOARD WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VAN TO THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP FOR A CHECKOUT / DIAGNOSTICS OF WHAT HAPPENED. HONDA KNOWS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE PAINT ON THESE VEHICLES! THEY SHOULD FIX THIS INSTEAD OF THE CUSTOMER, SINCE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF MANUFACTURE OF THE VEHICLES THAT HAVE THIS PAINT ON THEM! WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, VEHICLE STARTED TO SHUDDER AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. EXITED THE NEXT EXIT AND TOOK TOOK THE VAN TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP THE NEXT MORNING. THEY REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS, DUE TO BEING FOULED, AND ALSO COIL PACK FOR CYLINDER 3, DUE TO MISFIRE CODE ON CYLINDER 3. WITHIN A MONTH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME SHUDDER AND FLASHING CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHT. TOOK THE VAN IN TO MY MECHANIC AND THE CODE SHOWED MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 3. HE REPLACED THE SPARK PLUG DUE TO THE FOULING OF THE NEW PLUG AND SAVED IT FOR ME TO PRESENT TO HONDA. HE ALSO SWITCHED COIL PACK 2 WITH COIL PACK 3. HE ADVISED ME OF HONDA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 13-081 AND EXPLAINED THE BUILD DATE OF OUR ODYSSEY WAS LISTED AS 08/13 AND WE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE WARRANTY EXTENSION THAT HONDA WAS EXTENDING TO THE 11-13 MODELS WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AS WE WERE EXPERIENCING. I CALLED THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND SITUATION AND THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED ME OUR VAN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY EXTENSION AND AS PROBLEMS CONTINUED TO ARISE TO CONTINUE WHAT WE WERE DOING AND FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS OF OUR MECHANIC (WHO HAS ADVISED ME TO NOW GET RID OF VEHICLE DUE TO HONDA'S POSITION) AND THAT IN THE TECHNICIAN'S OPINION FUEL INJECTORS WOULD PROBABLY BE THE NEXT COURSE OF ACTION.

THERE WAS NO IMMEDIATE CHANGE IN VEHICLE PERFORMANCE AND THERE WERE NO ODORS PRESENT SO I CONTINUED DRIVING FOR SEVERAL MINUTES TOWARDS THE NEXT EXIT. ABOUT .5MI AWAY FROM THE EXIT, THE ABS, FCW, LDW, AND BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON, THE AIR CONDITIONER AND CONSOLE TURNED OFF, AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED. THIS PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE ENTIRE VEHICLE ESSENTIALLY LOST POWER. THE LOCAL DEALER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS AN OIL LEAK IN THE SPOOL VALVE THAT THEN DESTROYED THE ALTERNATOR AND FRIED THE BATTERY. THE MANUFACTURER (HONDA) RECENTY ISSUED TSB 20-023 DETAILING THE PROBLEM AND REPAIR PROCEDURE, BUT IT WAS LIMITED TO THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK, NOT ANY OF THE OTHER COMPONENTS THAT WERE DAMAGED. MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE INCIDENT LEADS ME TO BELIEVE A FIRE COULD HAVE BROKEN OUT DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE LEAK ONTO THE OTHER ENGINE COMPONENTS.

HOWEVER, WITHIN THE LAST YEAR OR TWO (ABOUT 85,000-125,000) IT SOUNDED LIKE AN ENGINE BREAK WHEN COASTING DOWN FROM SPEED (LIKE THE ENGINE WAS SHIFTING DOWN AND SLOWING THE CAR). TODAY (APRIL 17, 2020) IT BEGAN TO BUCK ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN SHIFTED WITH MORE BUCKING WHEN STARTING BACK UP FROM A STOP. SEEMS LIKE TRANSMISSION IS FUNCTIONING IMPROPERLY

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN ACCELERATING BETWEEN 15-20 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED WITHOUT WARNING. WHILE DRIVING OVER 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

MY PROBLEM IS THIS IS A KNOWN PROLEM WITH HONDA ODYSSEY, ITS ALL OVER THE INTERNET.MANY DIFFERENT YEAR MODELS, THE SERVICE MGR. THEN I CAME TO ANOTHER STOP AT A SECOND STOP LIGHT, NOT FIVE MINUTES LATER, AND AGAIN WHEN ACCELERATING IT REPEATED THE SHUDDER/JERK UPON SHIFTING BETWEEN 15-20MPH. I THEN CONTINUED ANOTHER 20-30 MINUTES HOME AND THE ISSUE REPEATED EVERY TIME I HAD TO SLOW MY SPEED BELOW 20MPH IT SHUDDERED/JERKED UPON ACCELERATING. I MADE IT HOME, DID NOT TURN OFF THE VAN, MY HUSBAND GOT IN AND DROVE IT TO A LOCAL SHOP ABOUT 5MIN DOWN THE ROAD AND EXPERIENCED ROUGH SHIFTING FROM PARK INTO DRIVE AND THE CONTINUED ISSUE OF ROUGH SHIFTING BETWEEN 15-20MPH. AT OUR ARRIVAL TO THE SHOP HE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND THEN RESTARTED IT AND WE RETURNED HOME. ON THIS RETURN TRIP AND THE NEXT DAY ON MY COMMUTE TO WORK THERE ARE NO FURTHER ISSUES OF ROUGH SHIFTING OR JERKING WHEN SWITCHING GEARS. BUT NOTHING WAS DONE TO CAUSE THIS TO START AND OTHER THAN TURNING OFF THE VAN AND RESTARTING IT, NOTHING WAS DONE TO REMEDY IT EITHER. I DID NOT TAKE IT TO A SERVICE CENTER, BECAUSE THE ISSUE CAN NOT BE REPLICATED AT THIS TIME.

MY 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY MOST NOTABLY WHEN THE WEATHER IS VERY COLD BELOW 30 DEGREES AND FIRST THING IN THE AM. DRIVING DOWN THE STREET IT'S AS IF I'M STUCK IN FIRST GEAR AND THEN SUDDENLY THE CAR SHIFTS AND IT SOUNDS HORRIBLE AS IF THE TRANSMISSION CLUNKS VERY LOUD & THEN THE CAR JERKS FORWARD FROM THE CAR SHIFTING. THIS STARTED HAPPENING WHEN MY CAR WAS VERY NEW WITHIN THE FIRST 1-2 YEARS. I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM AND THEY CAN NEVER SEEM TO GET IT TO 'THROW A CODE' FOR THEM. I EVEN LEFT IT THERE OVERNIGHT SO THAT THEY COULD DRIVE THE CAR COLD IN THE MORNING AND IT DIDN'T HAPPEN FOR THEM. IT IS VERY RANDOM WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN? AFTER READING MANY HONDA ODYSSEY ONLINE CHATS EVERYONE SAYS IT'S THE COMPUTER AND YOU HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT TO RESET THE COMPUTER. THIS HAS SEEMED TO WORK AND STOPS THE JERKY SHIFTING FOR THE TIME BEING. SO NOW WHEN MY CAR STARTS JERKING ME DOWN THE ROAD AND IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS ABOUT TO FALL OUT I HAVE TO PULL OVER SOMEWHERE SAFE AND TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A MINUTE AND RESTART IT. I THOUGHT FOR SURE THERE WOULD BE A RECALL BY NOW BUT I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE REPORTED IT EARLIER. TO SUM IT UP THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPUTERIZED SHIFTING MECHANISM THAT FOR SOME REASON WHEN IT'S COLD OUTSIDE KEEPS THE CAR IN LOW GEARS. I HAVE HAD MY CAR REGULARLY SERVICED AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP AND EVERY TIME I'VE HAD MY TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGED THEY COMMENT ON HOW DIRTY IT IS? I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM TO THEM AND NO ONE CAN SOLVE IT?

WENT TO START THE THE VAN WOULDN'T START. PUSHED THE PUSH START AGAIN IT STARTED. GOT 10 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD GOING ABOUT 30 MPH AND FELT A HARD JERK AND IT SHOOK A FEW TIMES AND THE STARTED IDLING HARD AND JERKED FORWARD . SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING WAS GOING TO FALL OUT THE BOTTOM OF IT.NO SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON. THEN GOT TO WORK SHUT IT OFF WHEN BACK OUT 10 MIN LATER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE FCW LIGHT WAS ON FELT LIKE IT WAS STILL IDELING HARD. LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. WONDER WHY HONDA IS NOT RECALLING THEM. I HAVE 61,300 MILES ON MINE. SO HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES A CAR COMPANY HAVE TO HAVE TO ISSUE A RECALL. THESE ARE NOT INEXPENSIVE VEHICLES. MAY HAVE TO LOOK INTO AN ATTORNEY. I CAN SEE WHERE THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE.

2 POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUES OCCURRING AT 55000 MILES OR LESS WITH NO RECALL FROM HONDA: TRANSMISSION JERKING AT LOW SPEEDS AND WARPED BRAKE ROTORS AT LOW MILEAGE: ISSUE 1: WHEN TRAVELING UP A HILL (SMALL TO MODERATE GRADE) THE VAN HAS A JERKING MOTION AND THE NEEDLE ON THE ODOMETER BOUNCES BACK AND FORTH ABOUT 200 RPMS WITH THE FOOT STEADY ON THE GAS PEDAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOR QUITE SOME TIME ON HILLS BUT NOW AT 55000 MILES THE VAN IS DOING IT ON A LEVEL SERVICE WHILE IN 2ND GEAR (OR WHEN TRANSITIONING TO 2ND FROM 1ST). AGAIN THE FOOT IS STEADY ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE VAN JERKS WITH THE NEEDLE BOUNCING ON THE ODOMETER A FEW HUNDRED RPMS BACK AND FORTH FOR A SHORT BIT UNTIL INTO 3RD GEAR. I READ OF A TSB 16-060 THAT THE CAUSE IS IMPROPER HEATING OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE SHORT-TERM FIX IS TO DRAIN AND FILL THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WHILE A FUTURE FIX IS A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT IS NOT YET COMPLETED. ISSUE 2: WHEN BRAKING THERE IS VIOLENT VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, DON'T REMEMBER THE DATE BUT WHILE STILL UNDER THE 3 YEAR/36000 MILE WARRANTY, THEY TURNED THE ROTORS WHICH CAUSED THE VIBRATIONS TO GO AWAY. NOW AT 55000 MILES THE VAN IS AGAIN HAVING VIOLENT VIBRATIONS WHILE BRAKING. THE ROTORS SHOULD NOT WARP SO FAST, WITH LOW MILEAGE.

THE VEHICLE NOW HAS APPROXIMATELY 117,000 MILES AND CONTINUES TO DEVELOP THIS PROBLEM ON AVERAGE ABOUT 10,000 MILES AFTER TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE. THIS COINCIDES WITH NHTSA REFERENCE #10084801. TRANSMISSION BUCKING AT LOW SPEED AFTER DRIVING A WHILE. WHEN I DRIVE MY VAN OFF THE DRIVE WAY, EVERYTHING BEHAVES NORMALLY. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN IT WAS DRIVEN FOR 30 MINUTES OR SO. AFTER ON THE FREEWAY FOR 30 MINUTES OR LONGER WHILE STOPPING AT THE OFF RAMP WAITING FOR THE GREEN LIGHT, THE VANS HAS PROBLEM TRYING TO SHIFT BETWEEN SPEED OF 20-40MPH. THE VANS BODY SHAKES VIOLENTLY AS IF IT WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD WITH MULTIPLE LOW SPEED BUMPS. THE TRANSMISSION HAS DIFFICULTY HUNTING FOR THE CORRECT GEAR. I CAN SEE THE RPM MOVING UP AND DOWN CRAZILY AS IF IT ENGAGES A LOWER GEAR AND IMMEDIATELY DECIDES TO SWITCH TO HIGHER GEAR MULTIPLE TIMES. THE PROBLEM IS MOST PROMINENT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT COMPLETE STOPS AND TRYING TO SPEED UP ON THE INCLINE STREET. WHEN IT IS ON HIGH SPEED, SUCH AS 50 MPH AND ABOVE, IT DRIVES SMOOTHLY. I THINK THE VEHICLE IS TRYING TO COMPENSATE BETWEEN BEST GEAR RATIO AND BEST FUEL ECONOMY GEAR AT THE GIVEN SPEED. A THE SPEED WHERE CONSTANT SPEED IS NOT ACHIEVED SUCH AS HILL CLIMBING OR ACCELERATING FROM STOP AT THE OFF RAMP TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE COMPUTER CONFUSED.

I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND DRIVING A STEADY 50 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUTDOWN. AFTER I REALIZED WHAT THE SITUATION WAS I PLACED THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL, STEERED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AS SOON AS IT WAS SAFE TO DO AND STOPPED. I JUST HAD THE ENGINE OIL AND FILTER REPLACED WHEN THIS EVENT HAPPENED 3.7 MILES FROM THE REPAIR SHOP. I SUSPECTED A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL CHANGE. AFTER STOPPING I CHECKED FOR OIL UNDER ENGINE (NONE) AND THEN CHECKED THE DIPSTICK (FULL). I HAD THE VAN TOWED TO THE SHOP WHERE THEIR PERSONNEL CHECKED UNDER THE ENGINE FOR AN OIL LEAK AND THEN CHECKED THE DIPSTICK AS I HAD DONE. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE VAN TO HONDA. IT?S BEEN A WEEK AND HONDA SAID I NEED NEW HEADS FOR THE ENGINE BECAUSE THE TIMING ?JUMPED?. THE OIL CHANGE HAD NO EFFECT ON THIS FAILURE. SO FAR, NOBODY AT HONDA CAN TELL ME WHAT ACTUALLY CAUSED THE TIMING TO ?JUMP?. THE TOTAL REPAIR IS BEING DONE BY HONDA AND IS COVERED BY THE HONDA'S NEW CAR WARRANTY. AT ONE POINT SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO SENSORS WERE PERFORMED BUT DID NOT CORRECT ISSUE. BRAKE ISSUE DISCOVERED AND ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO CORRECT TWICE. TOLD THIS IS NORMAL. ALSO A LOUD ELECTRONIC COMPUTER SOUNDING LIKE AN ANCIENT REBOOT OF AN OLD COMPUTER IS GREATLY NOTICEABLE WHEN THE PROBLEMS ACT UP. TOLD THIS IS NORMAL AN NO PROBLEMS BY THE DEALER. I FEEL I AM BEING IGNORED AND TREATED LIKE A STUPID PERSON EACH TIME I CALL. AFTER INSISTING, HE MADE AN APPOINTMENT THIS COMING THURSDAY MORNING SO THAT HIS MECHANIC TO RIDE WITH ME SO THAT I CAN SHOW HIM. I HOPE THE PROBLEM CAN BE DUPLICATED WHEN WE DO THE TEST RIDE WITH THEM. TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS STARTED VERY EARLY ON, I BOUGHT VEHICLE IN MARCH 2014. THE TRANSMISSION JERKS/BUCKS HORRIBLY ESPECIALLY IN LOWER GEARS, WHILE STOPPING/BREAKING, WHILE ACCELERATING, AND ALSO DURING TURNS. IT JOLTS FORWARD AT TIMES UNCONTROLLABLY. ALSO, IT DOESN'T SHIFT CORRECTLY INTO GEARS, WHICH CAUSES RPMS TO GET ABOVE 3000 JUST DURING REGULAR DRIVING. ALSO HAS PROBLEMS WITH DOWNSHIFTING PROPERLY. THE FRONT ROTORS AND BREAKS HAVE ALREADY HAD TO BE REPLACED AT ONLY 12,800 MILES. IMO, I BELIEVE THEY WARPED DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT DOWNSHIFT PROPERLY, (THIS CAUSED EXTRA STRAIN ON THEM WITH THE LACK OF ASSIST FROM THE TRANSMISSION). THE TRANSMISSION ALSO LAGS DURING ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO PASS SOMEONE ON THE HIGHWAY, EVEN THE SLIGHTEST PRESSING OF THE BREAKS BEFORE CHANGING LANES CAUSES MAJOR LAG WITH TRYING TO REGAIN SPEED, THEN THE VEHICLE YOU ORIGINALLY TRIED TO PASS IS NOW FURTHER AHEAD OF YOU, SO OVERALL IT IS HORRIBLE WITH PASSING SPEED/ACCELERATION. WHILE SHIFTING FROM 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR, THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCES A JERK/CLUNK THAT RESONATES THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE OCCURS BOTH WHILE ACCELERATING SLOWLY FROM A STOP, OR WHILE ACCELERATING SLOWLY WHILE THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN A SLOW COAST. THE WORST JERKS OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS SLOWLY ACCELERATED WHILE TURNING THE VEHICLE. IN ALL CASES, THE PROBLEM OCCURS DURING GENTLE ACCELERATION (GAS CONSERVATION) VERSUS QUICK ACCELERATION. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND HAS YET TO BE REPLICATED BY MY NEIGHBORHOOD HONDA AUTO REPAIR/DEALERSHIP. NO FAULT CODES HAVE BEEN FOUND ON THE COMPUTER. THE QUESTION WAS WHETHER OR NOT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. HE SAID THAT HE THOUGHT THAT IT WAS SINCE IT DIDN'T MAKE ANY NOISE IN THE HIGHER GEARS. THE NEXT MORNING, I DROVE IT TO THE DEALER, AND OF COURSE, NOTHING HAPPENED. THEY HAD TWO TECHNICIANS DRIVE IT, AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE CONDITION. THEY ALSO HOOKED IT UP TO THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE, AND THEY SAID THAT IT SHOWED NOTHING. THEY HAVE ADMITTED TO FEELING THE PROBLEMS AND CLAIM THEY CALLED THE HONDA TECH LINE WHO STATES I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE UNITED STATES THAT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. NEXT WEEK THEY ARE INSTALLING A NEW TRANSMISSION AND WILL CONTINUE TO TRY NEW THINGS UNTIL THEY FIND A SOLUTION. I LOVE THE FACT THAT I AM MAKING A PAYMENT FOR THEM TO PLAY WITH MY VAN AS THE TEST DUMMY. TRANSMISSION MAKES LOUD CLANKING NOISE AND SHUDDERS VIOLENTLY AT 10-20 MPH DURING ACCELERATION. ACCELERATION THROUGHOUT RANGE IS EXCEPTIONALLY SLUGGISH AND WILL NOT ENGAGE "PASSING GEAR" AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MAKING THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT LOW AND HIGHER SPEEDS. PROBLEM STOPS WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND RE-STARTED, BUT MAY REAPPEAR. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM AND STATES HONDA HAS HAD NO OTHER COMPLAINTS OF SAME. HOWEVER, I FOUND ALMOST EXACT SAME/SIMILAR COMPLAINT AT HTTP://WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM WITHIN SECONDS OF SEARCHING. I SUSPECT IT'S HAPPENING TO MORE PEOPLE. I'VE NOTICED ON COLD NIGHTS/DAYS (TEMPS BELOW 40 DEGREES). THE ENGINE TEMP IS SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN NORMAL. THE VEHICLE AT A COMPLETE STOP (AT STOP LIGHTS) THEN GO THAT WHILE I ACCELERATE IT STALLS, THE GAS PEDAL WOULD GO DOWN BUT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE THEN AFTER A FEW SECONDS WOULD JERK INTO SPEED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT A VALVE SWITCH HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. UPDATED 2/26/14*CN

DRIVING APPROX 25MPH THROUGH TOWN WHEN ENGINE RPMS INCREASED A BIT AS IT BRIEFLY SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR, THEN IT CAUGHT ITSELF AND ABRUPTLY WENT INTO APPROX 5TH GEAR (6 SPEED TRANSMISSION). FROM THERE VEHICLE WAS ONLY USING 2 GEARS (~2ND AND 5TH) AND EVERY TIME IT UP SHIFTED INTO 5TH (FROM A STOPLIGHT, ETC.) IT WAS VERY ABRUPT, AND MADE A LOUD CLUNK NOISE - IT WAS SO HARD IT FELT LIKE THE POWERTRAIN WAS GOING TO BE RIPPED OFF THE ENGINE MOUNTS AND OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT (SERIOUSLY). IMMEDIATELY LIMPED VEHICLE TO CLOSEST DEALER. DEALER REPLICATED EVENT AND DETERMINED TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS OVERFILLED (APPROX HALF A QUART). THIS WAS AN ISSUE FROM THE FACTORY AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS. THE SELLING DEALER DID NOT COVER/DISCOVER THIS OVERFILL AS PART OF THE VEHICLE SELL CHECKLIST PROCESS (IF I WERE THEM, NOT SURE I WOULD HAVE NOTICED A HALF-QUART EITHER). APPARENTLY A HALF QUART MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE INTERNAL PRESSURE OF THE TRANSMISSION WHICH CAUSED THIS ISSUE. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY OR OTHERWISE IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE OR CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IT WAS BAD ENOUGH LIMPING THROUGH TOWN. DEALER REMOVED EXCESS FLUID AND APPEARS TO BE OPERATING FINE (ALTHOUGH I NOW QUESTION THE LONGEVITY OF THE TRANSMISSION AFTER THIS INCIDENT). THIS WAS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE DURING ASSEMBLY AND I AM SURE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT MAY HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. I ONLY ASSUMING THAT A ROBOT WAS INADVERTENTLY OVERFILLING THE FLUID ON A BUNCH OF TRANSMISSIONS ALONG THE WAY. CAN PROVIDE VIN AS NECESSARY. *TR
