Camera projector fail and 6 warning ⚠️ lights came on, very common issue.
Camera/Honda Sensing failure (U3000-49 code), causing loss of safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, collision mitigation
Camera/Honda Sensing failure (U3000-49 code), causing loss of safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, collision mitigation
The front-facing camera responsible for detecting surrounding traffic is malfunctioning, which in turn compromises several critical safety systems. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. All of these features depend on the proper functioning of this camera. The vehicle has never been involved in a collision, and the camera was neither abused nor damaged. The failure occurred suddenly and without warning, triggering multiple warning lights on the dashboard. While the vehicle remains operable, all Advanced Driver Assistance Systems are currently disabled. It is my contention that Honda has engineered a defective camera system that requires a substantial out-of-pocket expense for vehicle owners to repair. I believe this cost should be borne by Honda, not the consumer. Accordingly, I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this issue and require Honda to implement a recall that permanently addresses the problem.
Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning systems stopped working simultaneously without warning. Upon further investigation, failure of the forward-facing camera is the likely root cause. Based on conversations in internet discussion forums [XXX] , [XXX] ), this is a common failure. There was a recall for the Odyssey to fix a wiring harness issue that could affect the back-up camera. I believe loss of the Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning systems is much more serious, with potentially catastrophic consequences. Since evidence suggests failure of the forward-facing camera happens frequently, I believe this issue should be treated with the same gravity as the back-up camera and a recall should be issued. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Error code U3000-49 Multipurpose Camera Unit Internal Electronic Failure. Adaptive Cruise Control does not work due to the camera failure.
Suddenly one day in the morning taking my car from my garage, all alarms in my board turned on and stopped working: Automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, forward and collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance and rear cross traffic warning. I bring my car to the McLarty Honda service in Little Rock, AR. After calibration showed that I need a new multipurpose camera code U 3000-49. This is major concern for me. My van is in perfect shape, only 7 years old not so many miles. Doing some research sounds like this is an issue with Honda vehicles. My neighborhood is full of kids ( I have 3 kids too)with these large vehicles you can find a lot of blinds spots and these features help to keep everybody safe. I believe this a safety issue that need to be recalled in Honda's cars.

I have 6 error lights on my dash board. Road departure mitigation system problem, auto high-beam problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, Ada pat I’ve cruise control problem. My car was rear ended from an insured from Utica National insurance group. After my car was rear ended these error message came up. They fixed the car but refused to fix to have the lights removed because they said that these error lights do not come on after a rear end accident.

One light on dashboard lit up, started as "Blind Spot info system problem", light would go on and off for couple of years. Now every light on dashboard lights up, including lane assist, blind spot infor system problem, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control problem, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning.

All the systems are not working This is a very low mileage vehicle and has not been involved in any accidents. They are many owners reporting the same issue. This is a safety issue as it shuts off many of the safety features of this vehicle while driving. Honda claims it’s normal.

The windshield monocular camera is completely non functional causing several dashboard errors to appear. It very disheartening as this is such a known issue within the Honda Odyssey community and very expensive to replace and get calibrated after replacement. This should be recalled since so many are having this issue. Clearly this is a fault of Honda. It seems that the camera can get too hot being in the windshield and just doesn't work. A big reason why I wanted this vehicle was because of these sensors. Now I can't use them.

The camera started malfunctioning and now I have a bunch of warning lights on the dash. I think is crazy that a lot of people have the same issue and still there is no recalls for it. Is a MAJOR safety issue.

t approximately 105 000 miles, while driving my 2018 Honda Odyssey, multiple advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) malfunctioned simultaneously. The following warning lights and messages appeared on the dashboard: LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System) ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) Auto High-Beam Headlights Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation This occurred without any prior symptoms, and the systems have remained nonfunctional since the initial incident. I did not observe any physical damage, sensor obstruction, or weather-related cause at the time. The car was in regular use and had not recently undergone service or modification. Safety Concern: These systems are critical to safe vehicle operation — especially at highway speeds — and are part of the vehicle’s integrated safety design. Their sudden failure without clear cause presents a serious safety concern for the driver, passengers, and others on the road. Troubleshooting / Diagnosis So Far: Battery is original and may be aging, but the issue persisted after a jumpstart. No recent accidents or damage. Online research shows that many other 2018–2020 Odyssey owners have reported similar simultaneous system failures, which may indicate a pattern or a design flaw. Request for Action: I respectfully request the following: That Honda investigate this incident and advise if it is part of a known issue or Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). If applicable, provide warranty or goodwill coverage for diagnosis and repair. Consider this complaint as part of broader data regarding a potential system-wide electrical/software defect.

The monocular camera installed in the front windshield over time going bad. It happen because in California always sun overheating the car when car is parked and it overheat camers components and it failed. Together the vehicle turned off pre collission avoidance system, automatic brake system, lane keeping system and etc. I have same issues on my 2021 Honda Insight it goes bad even the vehicle is 3 years fresh

Mass safety system failure due to front projector camera/ wiring harness. noted systems below failed: Adaptive cruise control Auto emergency braking Forward collision warning Lane departure warning Lane keeping assistance Auto High beams All above system are not operational
The Monocular front window camera is malfunctioning. This front window camera controls the following safety features: -Lane Keep Assist (LKAS) -Collision Mitigation -Adaptive Cruise control -Lane Departure Mitigation -Rain sensor windshield wipes -Auto High beam -Automatic Emergency Braking In addition to compromising these safety features when the camera fails, false warnings are repeatedly provided on the dash of the Vehicle, sometimes in a singular and sometimes in a cyclic manner.
I was involved in an accident with with my family. Pregnant wife and daughter. I got into a front end collision and I was at fault. The forward collision warning didn’t activate, Neither did the automatic emergency braking. This system has never failed on me and car has always stopped every time..

On September 1, 2025 the front windshield camera on my 2018 Honda Odyssey failed, part #36160-THR-A03-M1, resulting in the loss of many of my vehicle’s safety features including: adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assistance. The camera is available for inspection. Now when I start the vehicle it displays warnings that none of the above safety features are functional. I contacted 2 local Honda dealers, Bellingham Honda and Burlington Honda in Washington State. Both dealers said they could not fix my car since the camera is not available, since it is not in stock and on national back order, with no date of when a new camera would be be available. I have also contacted 2 online Honda parts distributors and they also say the camera is in national back order and not available, with no date of when it would be available. The result is that my vehicle has most of it’s safety systems inoperable and it can not be repaired, since a new camera is not available, and Honda cannot provide me a date when the part is available and my vehicle can be fixed. I see on the internet the front camera failure is a common occurrence in 2018 Honda Odyssey’s and request NHTSA investigate make Honda recall these vehicles to fix the safety problem.

Multipurpose camera behind the front windshield was inspected by Honda dealership. They were able to verify it had a fault and needed to be replaced at a cost of around $1700. This camera controls many of the safety features this van advertises such as the the Lane Keep Assist and Collision Mitigation. While researching online, I was able to find multiple owners of the 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey that have had this same issue. Ebay has recently sold 3 of these cameras that have been salvaged from donors. This is an ongoing issue that Honda has not rectified. I believe this should absolutely be recalled.

UNKNOWN, though others who have reported this problem are saying the front camera and it's calibration are at fault. Currently, 5 systems (3 reported + 2 more) are under warning on my vehicle due to this unknown issue and the dealership wants a ridiculous amount of money to fix even though it appears to be very common and frequent as these vehicles get more and more miles on them.

The automatic braking system beeped alert then applied brakes when I was going around a sharp curve, with cars behind me. Luckily they were far enough behind that they didn't hit me. This has been happening since I first got my Odyssey. I asked the Honda dealer about it if it was a defect and they said no that's how it work. I asked if I could turn it off permanently and they said no - I had to turn if off each time I turned on the car. Which I do most times but I forgot yesterday. I started turning it off regularly when it slammed on the brakes going around a curve some time ago bringing me to almost complete stop with car behind me. I probably should have reported earlier. I was in the car with a friend yesterday when it happened and she has a different model Honda and says it happens to her as well. I also am in a Odyssey Facebook forum and someone with a 23 Odyssey is experiencing it - I thought perhaps it was my year and they'd work out the kinks but it does not appear so. I was willing to give Honda a little grace on these early safety systems, but this looks to be an ongoing problem which is unacceptable. I'm going to look into a dashcam to record these incicdents. I asked the dealer because surely they would be able to see a log of when they automatic braking engaged? If not, they should.
I In August 2025, I experienced a sudden and complete failure of the forward-facing windshield camera in my 2018 Honda Odyssey, which disabled multiple safety-critical systems. After having new tires installed at Discount Tire in preparation for a road trip, I started my vehicle and was immediately confronted with multiple dashboard warnings, including: •“Road Mitigation System Problem” •“Auto High-Beam Problem” •“Adaptive Cruise Control Problem” •“Lane Keeping Assist Problem” •“Brake System” I took the vehicle to a Honda dealership. They diagnosed DTC U3000:49 — Internal failure with multipurpose camera unit and informed me the only repair option is to replace the camera and perform camera aiming. The quoted repair cost is approximately $2,000. The dealer explained that this failure is “common in hot climates.” If true, this represents a serious design flaw. The Odyssey was marketed as a family vehicle equipped with advanced safety systems, yet a single component failure suddenly disables nearly every major driver-assist safety feature. This is a serious safety defect for several reasons: 1.Safety systems suddenly fail without warning. One moment the systems are working, and the next they are completely disabled. A driver relying on lane keeping, collision mitigation, or adaptive cruise control would be placed at immediate risk. 2.Known widespread issue. The dealer admitted this happens in hot climates, suggesting Honda is aware of the problem but has not addressed it. 3.Unreasonable repair cost. A vital safety component should not have a built-in failure mode tied to environmental conditions, forcing owners to pay thousands out of pocket for safety-critical repairs. 4.Loss of federally encouraged safety features. Forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning systems are strongly promoted by NHTSA itself. Their failure removes protections drivers expect when purchasing the vehicle. This issue appears to be a common defect in Honda Odyssey vehicle
In our 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L, a few weeks ago 5 different warning lights started coming on when the vehicle was started and continued while the car was driven. Lane Assist, collision warning, auto high beams, braking system and adaptive cruise control. Just yesterday the rear hatch started to malfunction; currently the rear hatch can be opened and closed manually but the power lift does not function and now is the 6th warning on the driving display. The car was taken to a Honda Dealership for diagnosis, and after paying $99 for the diagnosis of the issues, several other diagnosis fees would be required to get to the root of the issue which the Tech states is most likely a control module malfunction due to a water leak. The fix would then be finding and fixing the leak, then replacing the module and wrapping the module in plastic to prevent future issues. Then more diagnosis fees to find and correct the other issues which could include replacing the multipurpose camera. -If a selling point of the driver assist, collision warning and automatic braking are safety improvements, by default if the system is faulty then ours and others safety is at an increased risk. -the vehicle has been inspected by a dealer -before a few weeks ago no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms were present. All of the symptoms have been rather sudden. We have been getting rain almost daily for the past few weeks.

the adaptive cruise control, collision warning, lane keep assist and other safety features have stopped working as indicated by errors displayed on dashboard. Suspect front camera is malfunctioning but has not been confirmed by independent service center. At first, this seemed to be an intermittent issue, but now the error messages appear every time the car is used.

Brake system light, and other warning lights including Adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation, road departure warning, and auto high beams: A common issue from internet which likely be caused by the camera/sensor issue (near the rearview mirror)
The windshield-mounted front camera assembly (part number 36160‑THR‑A81) that powers LKAS, ACC, Collision Mitigation, Auto High Beam, and other safety systems has failed on my 2018 Honda Odyssey. When the camera fails, multiple critical safety systems become disabled at once, posing a significant risk to driver and road safety." Supporting Evidence from Other Owners: Honda Odyssey owner posted in a parts-related forum: > “The Honda garage wants $1.5K to replace the front camera, but I’m wondering why it catastrophically failed after 3.5 years and 30,000 miles!” A documented complaint filed with NHTSA highlights a very similar situation: > “All Honda sensing technology is not working… ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation, Auto High Beam… many warning lights appear on the dash… diagnostics… indicated the issue may be related to a manufacturer defect… dealership… said the monocular camera was defective… The contact… replaced the defective monocular camera, … once the repair occurred, all of the messages and lights… cleared and all of the safety systems… are now working correctly.” Costs: Owners have reported paying approximately $750 for the camera part and another $500 for calibration, totaling around $1,250. We have even been quoted $2,500 to replace the front camera. Safety Risk: The failure disables multiple driver-assistive safety systems simultaneously, increasing risk of collision — especially since these systems (ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation) are intended to help prevent accidents. Conclusion / Call for Action: Given the frequency of similar reports, recurring nature of the front camera failure (36160‑THR‑A81) in 2018–2019 Odyssey models, the high cost of repair, and the safety-critical systems that fail when this component fails, I believe this qualifies as a design or manufacturing defect. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this issue and consider issuing a recall for affected vehicles.
1. Vehicle Information Year / Make / Model: 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring Mileage at Time of Incident: Approximately 123,952 miles Purchased New or Used: Used 2. Incident Summary On June 13, 2025 upon starting the vehicle for the first time that day (vehicle is garage kept, year round, at home when not in use), problem codes for the Auto High Beam, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) showed on the display and all features failed to function. 3. Detailed Description of Failure & Safety Risk (Chronological) Component/System Affected: I have not taken the vehicle to the local Honda dealership as yet as I plan to schedule an appointment during the week of 17 August. After researching this issues it is found that many other consumers have experienced the same issue and confirmed that it was the ADAS front-facing camera and radar sensor failure. Due to the failure this causes the following safety systems to cease functionality: Auto High Beam, ACC, LKAS, CMBS, and RDM. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: All affected systems are critical for maintaining lane position, speed, collision avoidance, and visibility. Not having these critical safety features creates a heightened risk of collision or unsafe maneuver. Inspection: Only an authorized Honda dealer will inspect/diagnose the issue. There has been no inspection from the vehicle manufacturer, law enforcement, insurance, or independent service.

My car have never in an any accident but my distance radar sensor not working. And it’s very risky to drive under this condition and it’s very big safety for me and my life so help me to fix this issue.
5 Major safety systems are automatically disabled and on further troubleshooting by the dealer, all these issues are pointing to a faulty Front Collision Avoidance Camera. The cost to replace and recalibrate the camera is upwards of $2400. This is absolutely ridiculous and seems like a safety recall issue.

All of the warning lights associated with advanced safety features came on on the way back from a visit to local store. When checking the codes there is a The U3000-49 code indicating an issue with the mono camera or radar unit. These warnings do not allow for the use of any of the safety features affected. The code cannot be cleared from the system either.
The multipurpose camera failed bring down all driver assistance functionality including lane keep assist, emergency brake, auto high beam, parking sensors, cruise control, etc. fix is outrageously high $2500+. Internet search finds this to be a very common issue and deserves a recall.

Suddenly the Van gave me 5 different warnings as below. 1. Adaptive Cruise Control problem. 2. Lane Keep Asist Problem 3. Collision Mitigation System Problem 4. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 5. Auto High-Beam Problem On top of these, 'Brake System' light also turned on.
the sensor/computer/camera on the windshield overheats and causes it to fail mines at 100,000 and its a $1600 repair dealer said because the windshield sits in sun while driving etc and the sensor overheats and melts the inside of the computer soldering. unacceptable so much for my safety features all gone i dont have the money to replace
I recently replaced a battery on the 2018 Honda Odyssey. When I turned the car on, the dashboard showed 6 issues: adaptive cruise control problem; lane keeping assist problem; collision mitigation system problem; road departure mitigation system problem; auto high beam problem; and the brake system light was on. I paid a mechanic to clear out the code and the was told that the front sensing camera needs to be replaced. Without a replacement, all these errors will continue to show up. I search online to find out if other people have had this issue because it was just too coincidental that a battery replacement broke the front camera. I found posts by many people who own the 2018 Honda Odyssey having similar or near identical issues that I have had. The cost to replace the camera and have it recalibrate it is going to cost $1,800.00 as estimated by a local Honda dealer. The Honda dealer told me that they have seen this problem over and over again.
The front camera failed so there were 5 warnings all together: Collision mitigation system problem, Lane Keeping Assist problem, Adaptive Cruise Control problem, Auto High-beam problem, Road departure mitigation system problem + Brake system warning. They claimed the bad battery, bad wheel alignment but they were not an issue. The front camera was failed, and it costs $2,408 after their discount coupon. Same thing happened to my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid. I googled it and found a lot of Honda vehicles share same problem. All the malfunctioning come from the failed front camera and it could be very dangerous if it happened during driving. This is a serious safety issue and all Honda's fault. They provided the problematic part. I never heard the similar problems happened to other brands such as Toyota, Chevy, Hyundai, and more. All happened to Honda car. They provided the poor quality front camera and they charging fortune to replace it. That front camera costs more than 10% of my current car value. It does not make sense. I strongly claim Honda should recall their front cameras and reimburse all the expense we already paid. Thank you very much.

Front camera failure causes multiple safety issues. Lane keep assist collision mitigation road departure mitigation high beam problem This is a known issue and the dealership knew about this immediately hearing the multiple warning signs. Cost of replacement is over $2000.
Driving on the freeway my lane keeping assistance, automatic emergency breaking, and adaptive cruise control warnings were flashing. The prompts keep my focus off the road as the beeps and flashing orange lights cannot be disabled. During my drive, the multicamera on the windshield seems to be malfunctions and often I would get a signal of on coming traffic and my steering wheel would vibrate to prompt me to move. This can be extremely terrifying and sometimes caused me to swerve, potentially hitting other cars. The multicamera needs to be recalled and fixed.

I have an intermittent set of warnings on Honda odyssey 2018 "lane keeping assist problem" "adaptive cruise control problem" "collision mitigation system problem" "road departure mitigation system problem" all at the same time will appear on the dashboard. I had brought it up to the dealership when under warranty and they were unable to resolve it. It comes and goes at random.

The forward camera on this vehicle fails and you lose all your adaptive cruise control, regular cruise control, Lane assist, emergency breaking, and adaptive high beams. This is the second failure of the camera since I have owned the vehicle 1.5 years and 30000 miles.

All the safety systems randomly disable themselves while driving and throw this code. Next time the vehicle starts, sometimes they are gone, then come back while driving, other times they are there from the start. U0104(00) [0xC10400] Data bus, cruise control module - no communication

Vehicle is indicating all sensing system not working such as Lane Keeping Assist System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Warning system, adaptive cruise control and others. Honda installed a cheap product on this vehicle when it was originally manufactured and is double dipping by selling us in a 7 year period another set of the same cheap product . Dealer is quoting me $3,139.80 to replace a radar and a camera both at the same time
ADAS System Failure. An audible alert would sound and the following problems would scroll across Dash Display: Auto High-Beam Problem; Adaptive Cruise Control Problem; Lane Keeping Assist Problem; Collision Mitigation System Problem; Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. Also, "BRAKE SYSTEM' illuminated in red near bottom of display. Diagnostic at Honda Dealer indicated, "U3000-49 Multipurpose Camera Unit Internal electronic Failure". To repair, the quote for the unit itself was $1201.34 plus tax. Calibration was an additional $660.00. I found the unit online at a better price and so purchased it and had the Dealer install. My total cost for the Unit and installation/calibration was $1.496.74. Even though it is a 2018 model I would have expected this camera unit to last much longer. It's an expensive part! My hope would be for Honda to issue an extended warranty and I'd be eligible for compensation on this repair. If needed I can provide paperwork. Please advise. Thank You.

UNKNOWN - Internet says the camera is faulty. Dealer told me faulty injectors. There was a separate recall for the injectors which my VIN "wasn't affected"

The front camera has failed resulting in safety concerns including braking system and cruise control failure. This is a known issue with many new Honda Odysseys and needs to be recalled as it is not safe to drive as it disables all honda sensing and auto braking components on the vehicle.

Upon startup of the vehicle the following Warnings flash on the dash: "Auto High-Beam Problem, ACC Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, LKAS Lane keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem." This problem is easily reproduced and occurs almost every time I start my vehicle. I had my battery tested and it was reported to be GOOD. The vehicle still drives correctly, but none of the safety features listed above work. If these features are going to be mandated on newer vehicles they should be reliable and function correctly. I will never buy another Honda vehicle!

The problem began when the car was started after sitting for a few days. The ADAS system has intermittent loss. System will go offline than can recover only to go out again..

Front facing camera malfunctioning, and it is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction causing 5 different warning lights to show up on dashboard. Including 1.) Auto high beam problem, Lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, road departure mitigation problem. The issue has been confirmed by the dealer. There were no warning lights prior to the random malfunction. I have not had wind shield replaced (which I have read could mean a calibration of the camera issue), nor has there been any accidents taken place. My safety is at risk as I am unable to use these features while driving unless the front camera is replaced.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that an abnormal sound was coming from the engine. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the spun rod bearing had fractured, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while diving at 30 MPH around a bend, the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and an unknown part was greased. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

The multipurpose camera on the windshield needs to be recalibrated and I've been told by dealerships that this is a common problem with 2018 Honda Odyssey. Unless I pay over $2000 to have the camera recalibrated, systems including the antilock brake system do not work.

The front facing monocular camera has failed and my 2018 odyssey has less than 55k miles on it. Without the operation of this camera you cannot use the cruise control and the dash lights up with all kinds of warnings (lane mitigation failure, acc failure, brake light continuously on). This is a known faulty safety feature that is far to common for the newer odyssey models. This is ridiculous that Honda has put this system into their vehicles, in particular the odyssey and there needs to be a service bulletin to repair this issue or recall completely. It is obviously a faulty part and needs to be resolved.

2018 Odyssey Elite with 43k miles. Apparently, the front facing camera failed and if the camera fails -- which seems to have been reported by many other owners -- it's about a $1700 fix from a dealer. Not only should the camera not fail, but this is happening to cars that are low miles, low use, and the failure affects all camera-related safety features of the vehicle: lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, parking collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

Multiple warnings occurred simultaneously for the "brake system" intermittent. I have the same issue per [XXX] for my Honda Odyssey 2018 elite. I can see the same problem by a lot of people. I told Honda and paid them $220 diagnosis fees and they ended up asked me to change the whole camera that cost 4k. This obviously defect issue from Honda. Looks like known issue for this. Can this escalate back to Honda? For example [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Upon starting the vehicle we get the following warning lights: Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Blind Spot Info System Problem Adaptive Cruise Control Problem Lane Keeping Assist Problem Transmission System Problem Collision Mitigation System Problem The vehicle is drivable but none of our safety features work. We took it to a local shop that was close and they said it’s a known issue with Honda and that the monocular camera located in the windshield is malfunctioning.

Regularly maintained my Honda Odyssey Elite. Suddenly get warnings for all safety elements while driving - adaptive cruise control, Lane keeping assist, collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam headlight. Recommended to report as this seems to be a common thing with Honda and needs to be a recall. Dealership wants me to change out the radar sensor in the front which seems to be the root cause. Lots of other Honda Odysseys having the same safety issue as reported on NHTSA website.

The Honda sense front facing camera has went out on my 2018 Honda Odyssey. The camera is currently still installed in my van and if it is necessary to replace to keep it from draining the battery I will request that the faulty part be provided to me. This camera being faulty causes the loss of cruise control, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, lane keep assist and emergency breaking. This issue is also causing a drain on the battery, which impacts other items due to low voltage. My van is currently at the dealership and I am being told that I will have to purchase a new camera which will be around $1500. The following lights are on; BREAKS, ACC and LKAS. These items first appeared within a few weeks of having the rear camera recall completed. Based on my research this is a common problem and just like the rear camera recall, Honda should have to replace this camera as well. The date provided is the date it was officially diagnosed by Honda, the lights appeared in 10/2024 and all of the functions were lost around that time.
Random multifunction camera failure triggering lots of errors. Needed to pay dealership over 2000 to fix. Safety issue as it disables blind spot detection, lane change, collision warnings etc
The Honda monocular camera is apparently causing malfunctions and or warning lights. This is impacting many Odyssey owners according to my research. This should be addressed by Honda and reimbursement or repair covered as a recall.

Multiple warning lights came on, indicating a failure with the front camera sensor attached near the rear view mirror. Errors include: auto high-beams, lane keep warning, collision mitigation system, road departure warning, brake system, and adaptive cruise control failure. All problems stem for the single point of failure - the front-facing sensor/camera located at the top of the windshield. Replacement quotes are $1,800 - $2,500!

The camera projector needs to be replaced according to the Honda dealership. Too many Honda Odysseys are having similar issues. Come thing is battery replacement or vehicle is located in warmer climate states. This camera mount is too sensitive to voltage swings or warm weather which is a poor design by Honda. It is a major safety concern not being able to use key features in the Elite and Touring models such as adaptive cruise control, LKAS, and the other 5 warnings that won't go away. This needs to be resolved by Honda so that vehicle owners can get back on the road safely. The cost to replace the camera and calibration is ridiculous ($1700 - $2000). This will be the last Honda vehicle we ever buy if Honda doesn't setup and correct this issue with thousands of Odyssey vehicles. This a major issue and Honda needs to recall and correct this issue before a major lawsuit comes their way to due to this poor design.
My 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite as faulty camera system above rearview mirror according to our local Honda delaer. The dealer is asking for $1700 to replace this item. It is causing multiple warning lights (5) on the dash and now adaptative cruise control, lane keep assist, brake system, and other systems are no longer working. Multiple Honda Odyessey owners are having this same issue. We need help getting this issue corrected/fixed by Honda as a recall.

Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warnin, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keeping Assistance lights came on and won't go away. Sometime the car won't reverse when put in reverse.
All alert lights came on suddenly (ACC, collision mitigation, road departure, auto high beam, etc). Took the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnosis, and found out there is a faulty multipurpose camera in the front near the windshield. Upon research, this seems to be a common problem for Honda vehicles manufactured between the years 2018-2019. Total cost of repair and labor is over $2,000.
Unknown but many Honda Odyssey owners are reporting the same issue which most likely caused by defective multipurpose camera at the front windshield. This create alerts and deactivates safety features: adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, Lane keep assist, collision mitigation, auto-high beam, road departure mitigation, and Brake system.
Multipurpose front camera controlling multiple vehicle safety features had internal failure. Dealer required replacement of camera and calibration. Multiple warning lights came on dashboard to alert of issue. Faulty camera was diagnosed by Honda dealer and is with dealer currently.

I got in and turned on the car one afternoon and all these lights came on. No wrecks or anything has happened. Just all systems have failed. Brake System problem ACC problem Collision Mitigation Problem Lake Keep Assist Problem Auto High Beam Problem This is a HUGE safety issue as this vehicle carries my children. We will be taking it to the dealership this week but these types of issues shouldn’t be happing this quickly. We need a recall to fix this issue as many many others have had these same issues. These are safety systems that will save your life!

The front monocular camera (36160-THR-A03) completely stopped working. It is behind the rear view mirror, behind the front windshield. Errors displayed on dashboard indicating lane keep assist, forward collision warning, brake mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and brake system lights turned on. (99% of the time). On occasion, transmission problem, blind spot detection, AND rear camera cross traffic detection (radar disabled) would also go on (3% of the time). While driving the vehicle on the freeway, the dashboard went completely BLACK for about 3-5 seconds, and I could not see my speed, fuel, odometer, and everything else. It came back on, but that really concerned me. I immediately opened a ticket with Honda Corporate. (Repair Diagnosis Request: 14552995). The root cause was not identified. However, some speculate a failing battery (low voltage) can trigger it. In my case, I replaced the battery first when the symptoms first started, but the issue did not resolve even after driving it 500+ miles. The oddest symptom is something I could not explain. Every Saturday (like clockwork because kids soccer practice), between 12pm-1pm local time (Eastern for me), the issue would go away completely and the camera (and all assistive features) would work completely normal. As soon as I power off/on the vehicle, the issue came back immediately… until the next Saturday. This happened 3 times, 3 weeks in a row. Makes me think there’s a software/firmware glitch. Honda did a goodwill with me and paid 50% of parts and labor. Honda (dealership) confirmed it was a part failure, and replaced the part and all issues went away. Given the front camera issue also affected the rear camera on occasion (cross traffic radar failure), and that part was already recalled, my opinion that when this part fails, it has greater implication to other safety features/electrical system. Due to this also being cost prohibitive, I suspect many will opt to not to fix it.

Driving vehicle on the road, the suite of driver assistance system suddenly failed including LKAS, front collision warning system, adaptive cruise control, lane departure as well as brake system light. I took the car to the dealership which indicated the front camera had catastrophically failed. This issue seems to be a recurring issue in all models of odyssey minivans. The issue is well documented in online forums. It should be a safety recall from Honda compared to other recalls on same vehicle. Dealer quoted me $2000 to fix this! HONDA - fix this and issue a recall before there is a lawsuit and someone gets hurt
Multiple dash lights warnings (LKAS, forward collision, lane departure, etc.) came up. Brought it to the dealership and was told that this is an electrical camera issue that is overheating, and there is no preventative or ways to keep it from happening. It would cost an upward of $2000 to fix it. This should be part of the recall since it seems like it’s happened quite frequently with the other Honda Odyssey.

The issue seems to appear for recent and older vans and is well documented in online forums. It should be a safety recall from Honda compared to other recalls on same vehicle.
Lane keep assist, road mitigation, auto hi beam, adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, road departure all errors and no longer work. New windshield wuth calibration august 2024, new battery 10/28/24. Issue started 10/25/24. A little over 90,000 miles on vehicle. Started vehicle in parking lot and all warnings came on. After new battery, warnings cine on and off at random.
All of my safety sensors no longer work. Warning lights for all sensors are on at all times.
Why has there not been a recall on Honda Odyssey's multi camera in windshield - it seems this is happening to many autos. These are ALL Safety issues that should be resolved by Honda. Dealership says it will cost me $2000 to have this repaired. Let me remind you that I had not even made a payment on this auto when the transmission went out while still under warranty. I had not had it a full month when this happened. We are grandparents raising our grandchild, we purchased this automobile for space for carseats and such, thinking it was a very safe automobile. Now many of the safety features no longer work! Not only are we on a fixed income but raising a child is not cheap! Auto High Beam Problem, Road departure Mitigation System Problem,, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Brake System. These are constantly flashing on my dash.

Started my car and got all these warning lights ACC problem, Collision Mitigation Problem, Lake Keep Assist Problem, Auto High Beam Problem. From reading forums online this is a common issue for Honda Odysseys 2018-2023. The camera is faulty. This should have a recall.

When I turned on the ignition to drive the vehicle, multiple warning lights came on to include failure of Lane Keeping Assistance, Forward Collision Avoidance, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Automatic Emergency Braking. Additionally, after acknowledging these lights, the "Brake System" light remained on in the Amber color. If these safety features are not working properly, it can put the occupants of my vehicle as well as others at risk. We took the vehicle to the Honda Dealer. They ran the diagnostics and stated that the fault was "Internal Electronic Failure of Multipurpose Camera Unit/Internal Failure of Multipurpose Camera". We had to replace the Multipurpose Camera and have the new one re-calibrated.

Multipurpose camera failure. Warnings appeared upon failure after being parked in the shade on a moderately warm day ~80 degrees. Warnings with chimes reappear after being cleared, causing distraction while driving. Safety systems are inoperable without expensive camera replacement. Systems disabled as a result include Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation System, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Auto High Beam system.

All of the safety features stop working intermittently on my van. The warning lights do all come on. Independent mechanic says the multipurpose camera unit has stopped working. Safety features that I thought I had are not available

The adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, and other safety functions associated with the front camera failed. These safety features are a huge part of the vehicle and doesn't feel safe to drive. The front camera has failed in under 6 years and is currently being replaced by the dealer to hopefully fix these issues. The repair is not covered by Honda.

All of our sensor controlled equipment is not working. LKAS, ACC, Forward collision, auto brights, etc.
Vehicle started to display ACC PROBLEM, LKAS PROBLEM, TRNSMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM, COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, AUTO LIGHTS PROBLEM and BLIND SPOT INFO SYSTEM PROBLEM recently around September 19,2024 and disabled all the safety features mentioned on the vehicle while it is in motion. This is a huge safety issue and could cause severe problem for many drivers and passengers in case of serious accidents which could be avoided if those systems are functioning properly. Upon researching the issue, this is very common problem for many of similar vehicles and it seems to be related to the monocular camera on the windshield. I strongly urge for quick investigation on this matter and have Honda Motors to do a recall for replacing faulty camera as it could impact many lives.
Diagnostic is U3000-49: "Multipurpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electronic failure. Multipurpose camera internal failure. Camera is overheating and hot to the touch." Honda is saying this is separate from the recall already issued on the camera and will be a $2K repair. Multiple other owners of other 2018 Honda Odysseys reporting same failure. Van running fine, then all of a sudden warning panel lit up with the following warning messages: Adaptive Cruise Control problem Lane Keeping Assist problem Collision Mitigation System Problem Road Departure Mitigations System problem Auto High-Beam Problem Local reputable auto repair shop said it is not safe to drive due to the extremely high temperature of the camera unit.
ACC,LKAS,Collision Mitigation System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Auto High Beam warnings. All read problem and do not go away
Forward collision warning comes up on vehicle. There is a problem with the transmission. the car automatically shifts itself from D to S.
Failure of the Front windshield mounted monocular camera from overheating causes all advanced driver assistance systems to shut down such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, etc. This is a very common occurrence in not just the Honda Odyssey, but other Honda models as well. A new part can be anywhere from one to two thousand requiring dealer calibration. The heat from the sun, the location of the monocular camera and possible contribution from replaced non-OEM windshields may contribute to the overheating. With all safety devices disabled, the vehicle becomes unsafe to operate requiring immediate attention and dealer only service since a new device requires calibration.

Several warnings popped up on my dash at once: adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, brake system, auto highbeam, collision mitigation system, and road departure mitigation system. The dealer’s Internet is down for at least several days, so they are not able to troubleshoot the problem. However, an internet search to troubleshoot myself indicates that this is a standing, systemic issue with 2018 and 2019 Honda Odyssey’s that may warrant a recall.

The forward camera sensor used in the 5th generation Honda Odyssey Touring is experiencing high rates of failure, especially in hot weather. This causes failure of the Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation system, Road Departure Mitigation, and Auto High Beam systems. The part number of the camera is 36160-THR-A72, 36160-THR-A73, or 36160-THR-A74 depending upon the date of manufacture.

Prior to purchasing this vehicle, On the test drive, the vehicle slammed on the brakes for no good reason. The dealer assured me the collision mitigation braking system (“CMBS”) can be turned off, so I bought the car. I then learned that the CMBS automatically turns on every time the engine is turned on. I must shut CMBS off each and every time I start the car, but since my other car is a Tesla (which doesn’t have this problem), sometimes I do forget to shut off CMBS. Through out my almost 7 years of ownership, the car has slammed on the brakes COUNTLESS numbers of times for absolutely no reason at all. Sometimes no cars are behind me, but there have been several times when cars behind me have almost crashed into me due to my faulty CMBS. My elderly mother is in need of a car and I refuse to let her borrow mine because I am scared she will forget to disable the CMBS and get into a crash. I am deeply astonished that with everything that is known about Honda’s CMBS, NHTSA has not taken any action against this dangerous feature. I wonder what NHTSA is getting paid to look the other way. A complete failure of an institution I used to hold in high regard.
the right sliding door has had intermittent malfunction for years. often, the door will not work with an automatic function and must be pulled open or closed manually which is nearly impossible to accomplish. most often the right sliding door malfunction notification appears when driving at highway speeds which is extremely unsafe. this has been inspected by the dealership and no fix or resolution was provided. recently, all of the ADAS systems are intermittently malfunctioning. they work about 1 out of every 5 times the vehicle turns on LKAS, Auto Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, are all affected. within the last week the internal camera system has been failing, audio stops working, and most importantly the rear hatch has been closing on its own while i am standing underneath it loading the trunk. this is also very unsafe, it atleast beeps to warn that it is closing but i sometimes barely have time to get out of the way. yesterday while driving in the highway, two warnings appeared simultaneously for “transmission system problem” and “blind spot notification system error”. the vehicle started again without the transmission system or blind spot error but i am very concerned about the degrading electrical system issues that i have been experiencing with this family oriented vehicle model.
Windshield monocular camera seems to be failing. No way to stop the warnings from popping up everytime I crank my car, can’t even use cruise control. I paid extra for these features and it seems to be a safety issue.

Started up the van and the following appears on the dash: ACC problem Collision Mitigation Problem Automatic speed control problem Lake Keep Assist Problem Auto High Beam Problem No prior issues.
1.5 weeks after servicing vehicle at the dealership (oil change and tire rotation) Warning lights come on beeping upon starting vehicle. The following systems are malfunctioning... -collision mitigation syatem problem -adaptive cruise Control problem -lane keep assistance problem -road departure mitigation system problem -auto high beam problem. This also removes any ability to use regular cruise control in any capacity (even without adaptive cruise control on) Honda certified mechanic diagnosed code : U3000-49 as a bad Multipurpose Camera Unit. Parts alone cost $1,200 then labor and cost to calibrate (which must be done at dealer). The cost of this repair to MAJOR safety features would be over $2,000. This is a safety related issue that should be recalled immediately. We do not currently feel safe in our 2018 Honda Odyssey, nor do we have $2,000 to complete this repair. Our research (a few screenshots attached) of this malfunction of the Multipurpose Camera Unit shows widespread issues on 2018 odysseys in particular. To me that warrants an investigation and recall. A dealer actually told me "you don't need those features to drive the vehicle". Well, we don't NEED a backup camera and it was recalled. Why? Because we don't want to run over small children. I would like to be able use ALL safety featured on my vehicle. This isn't an entertainment system. It is the major safety feature on our family vehicle, which we saved for years to purchase. We ask that Honda consider the safety ramifications of NOT recalling this malfunctioning camera unit and do the right thing in issuing a recall.

My vehicle started to show warning: Collision MitigationSystem Problem/ Road Departure Mitigation System Problem/ Adaptive Cruise Control Problem / Lane Keeping Assist Problem/ Auto High-Beam Problem. I took it back to Honda dealership and was told the Multipurpose Camera is damaged and needed to be changed. They asked if I have a vehicle accident and I told them I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ONE. I don’t understand why this just starts up all of a sudden and have seen other people complaining of this same problem.

The lane keep assist function via the monocam behind the windshield has failed causing an alert to show up a few minutes into driving that none of the systems related to it are functional. This appears to be a widespread problem amongst owners of the 2018 Odyssey. Additionally, Honda service centers are acting like this is a surprise to them but searching online will results many individuals with the same issue and then being charged 1300-2000 to fix it. Since the features are all safety related I assumed this was where I should submit this. Please let me know if this is not the case. See the honday odyssey forums for many people noting this problem... [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2018 Honda Odyssey front camera failures. We bought it brand new and found out today that front multipurpose camera was not working properly. There are bunches of warning lights popped up on dashboard: LCC, LKAS… problems. I went to Google and Facebook to see there were so many people have the same problem particularly with this 2018 models. Dealership wanted $1800 to replace camera and they know that was Honda technical issues, not in customers control.
The forward camera malfunctions and causes the Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Emergency Breaking to be inoperative. After looking online, this is a frequent issue for this van. I believe it is related to the recent recall because it was functioning perfectly until right after we had the recall repaired.

collision mitigation system activates when over 45 mph and there is a car next to you at about a 2 o clock angle from the van. Also activates if collision mitigation system is disabled and you are using the cruise function. Front camera is clear and it's a big safety problem than can easily end in a rear end accident
There are mutiple errors shown and the features disabled. Looks like the front camera is defective and is being reported by many people

- Monocular Camera failure. It is available for inspection upon request. - Multiple Dash warning lights are on and several safety features, including forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking fail to work. Dealer states that the monocular camera cannot be disabled because it is a safety feature. - The problem has been confirmed by a dealer. The dealer stated the problem was not caused by consumer usage or accident, but was an internal failure of the monocular camera. - No additional inspections have been performed. -There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, which first appeared in April 2024 at ~104,000 miles on the vehicle.
Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) We have not taken it into Honda yet as it's out of warranty and the fix is replacing/reaiming the Carmera that is located near the rear view mirror. The car has been scanned with a scan tool and it comes up with errors regarding the front camera MCU. Upon inspection the front camera is extremely hot to the touch. The errors sometimes stay on for weeks & may go off for a minute or two then come right back. Without this functioning properly the above car features (which can be safety releated) do not work & does effect the safetly of passengers in the car. It is available for inspection as it's very easy to get to.

One day i turned on vehicle and all the warning lights turned on, the lkas system. Automatic emergency breaking, lane departure warning. Cruise control, brake system. More lights that i cant remember. I took it to the honda dealership and they found that it was an internal front multi purpose camera failure that caused all these features to not work which i was told is a safety issue because the seat belts may not engage or other safety features. I have heard of this front multi purpose camera failure multiple times for the odyssey. There were no warning before failure. I do have the failed component in my posession. It has now been replaced and the issue resolved

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that upon start of the vehicle, the Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Collision Mitigation System, Road Departure Mitigation system, and Auto High Beam system warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that multiple failures occurred soon after the windshield was replaced by an independent mechanic. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the front camera needed to be recalibrated to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic where the front camera was recalibrated five times; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

I started the vehicle and it displayed a message on the infotainment system screen that the system had lost power. I believed that this would only affect the radio functionality which I was not concerned about immediately. I placed the vehicle in reverse and I accidentally backed up into a parked car. At no point before the accident did I realize the rear camera did not work and the collision assistance sensors did not function. I believe if the collision avoidance system was working correctly my accident would have been prevented. I have come to depend on the safety features of this vehicle. I know that this is not an issue with my car battery as I recently had a Honda dealer install a new battery prior to this accident and the vehicle started normally.
The forward warning system will say brake without anyone or anything in front of you. It will then slam on the brakes. This is very dangerous and has almost resulted in multiple collisions. We have took it to the dealership numerous times and it has not been fixed. I have called American Honda and they will not fix the issue. I get the run around that it is outside of warranty. It was took to them under warranty but was never fixed. The local Honda dealer wants to just try swapping out cameras at a price of $2,500. They do not know if it will even fix it. Now the system has numerous warning lights related to the adaptive cruise, lane keep assistance, forward warning system and lane departure warning. Again I have called America Honda and local dealership. They do not know how to fix it. This is a major safety hazard and they should be forced to repair it under a recall.

All warning lights related to the Honda Sensing driver assist features come on and the assist features are inoperative. Vehicle still drives fine but even normal cruise control is no longer an option. Some warning notifications pop back up while driving even after dismissed which is rather distracting.

10/4/2023 (55K miles), the vehicle suddenly lost power at interstate speed and dropped to three cylinders. Warning lights came on disabling all automatic safety systems. I took the vehicle to a parts store and OBD indicated an oil pressure sensor in VTEC Bank 1. After restarting the vehicle I once again had all 6 cylinders, but all safety systems failures were still indicated on the dash. I replaced the battery (5.5 years old) and all systems returned to normal. After a the PGM-FI update for idle stop issues (recall) was performed at the dealer on 1/31/2024, two days later (2/2/2024) the previous event recurred resulting in severe loss of power and all safety systems indicating failure. I replaced the 4 month old battery under warranty believing the battery had failed prematurely. The problem did not resolve after replacing the battery and multiple restarts. I returned the car to the dealer service center on 2/3/2024 running on three cylinders and then suddenly 6 again after a restart part way there. Dealer diagnosed issue as intermittent fault P2652 Rocker Arm Oil Pressure Switch B (Bank 1) and replaced it at my cost but did not charge diagnoses. Operation returned to normal. ***I have driven Honda vehicles for 25 years with very few issues. Something is seriously wrong in their ECU program/electrical system that causes vehicle to suddenly lose power and safety systems due to an intermittent oil pressure sensor fault. I am a Mechanical Engineer with more than 18 years working in mechanical and electrical aerospace systems. Honda needs to identify the root cause of this failure mode and issue yet another recall to address the systemic hardware and software issues. Both times this occurred, I had 4 young kids in the car and could not maintain safe interstate speed or accelerate to get on the highway.
Warning messages for the following appeared: brake system lane keeping/assist system collision mitigation system problem road departure mitigation system problem auto-high beam problem adaptive cruise control problem None of these safety features now work. Our local dealership told us it was a failure of the multipurpose camera unit. The fix we are told is a $1400 part. The rear camera was just recalled by Honda and repaired within the last month. This failure should not have happened and greatly impacts the safety of the car and it is a common problem when searching Honda message boards.
Multiple error lights come on at various times, including but not limited to road departure mitigation warning, vehicle stability assist problem, hill start assist problems, brake hold system problem, power steering system problem. Upon first dealer inspection no problem was identified. On follow up after ongoing recurrence of the issue, dealer found multi purpose camera internal fault along with recalled fuel injector repair requirement. Estimated 2,000 to fix MP camera.
The vehicle has multiple warning lights and a recall was issued for the MOST connectors upon the initial problem which fixed it temporarily and now it continues to have multiple problems. It shuts off while I'm driving and the steering wheel locks up. It's as if the car is possessed the system screams at you, goes black, turns the music off and on. I have had it at the Honda twice and am taking it again in the morning. I'm afraid to drive my children in it.
The camera on the Honda van seems to act up when either its hot outside or cold outside. Due to this, the car will show these codes, (LKAS, ACC, Collision Avoidance, Auto High Beam Problem). Due to the camera having these isues, the collision avoidance puts myself and family at risk.

All of the advanced driver assistance systems have failed: adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance. Additionally, there is a brake failure fault. The Honda dealership said that the plastic cover over the radar is prone to fogging and that we should clean it. We tried that and it did not work. Still get all of the faults and warnings.

The battery in our van weakened and needed to be replaced. Upon replacement with brand new battery, a ton of new warnings began. These included problems with: Adaptive cruise control; lane assist; collision avoidance; auto high beam, and maybe another. Doing some research online, I found that many other Odyssey owners experienced similar issues associated with battery replacement. Local Honda dealer told me the MOST recall repair may take care of it. It did not. Was told the internal front multipurpose camera just happened to coincidentally go out at the same time as the battery. Honda wants $1500 to replace the camera. Honda USA declined to help. In the meantime, our vehicle has none of the safety features available; and regular cruise control is not an option if the camera is not replaced. I believe Honda knows this is an issue and should be help responsible for replacing defective cameras.

Our 2018 Honda Odyssey has a little over 33,000 miles on it; and out of nowhere several warning light came on, such as Adaptive Cruise Control problem, Lane Keeping Assisst Problem, Collision Mitigation system problem, Road departure mitigation system problem. Scheduled an appointment with Honda Service, however they refuse to event take a look at it, and cancel my appointment half an hour prior to appointment time.

Front windshield camera failure (confirmed by local Honda dealership). No known cause and no prior warnings/messages. All warning messages popped up suddenly after the car was parked for the workday. The following functions were disabled by this failure: automatic emergency breaking, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, cruise control, etc. Part to replace is "on national backorder with no known ETA"

The camera that controls all safety features in my vehicle has an “Internal Failure” this means all my sensors and my dash board is lit up like a Christmas Tree. I took it to the dealership paid for a diagnostic test and found out it was the front camera internal failure, which means all sensors (lane mitigation, braking system, cruise control, automatic dim lights etc), is all not working. HELP please!! As I took it to the dealership even if I pay for the fixing the camera is on National Back Order that being stated it means MANY people are having the same issue, and Honda has no conducted a recall for this HELP us PLEASE!!!

I was driving and all of the sudden the vehicle slowly started losing power. A bunch of lights popped up on the dash and it turns out it was the camshaft and the sensor. The camshaft had been rubbing on the sensor for quite some time causing the engine to malfunction.
When driving the vehicle on September 8, 2023 LKAS (lane keeping assist problem), collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot info system problem, auto high beam problem and ACC (adaptive cruise control problem) came on. Pulled over and restarted the car and all warning lights remain. Transmission system problem error is now appearing with the letters blinking on the display. Turn the car off and back on until transmission problem error goes away. Vehicle going in for diagnostics early October.
Appears the front radar system fails causing all safety features that rely on data from that radar to also fail, causing a high potential for safety related incident due to reliance on these safety features.

When idle stop is activated, car will often stall on attempt to restart. Car can then not be started for 5-10 seconds. If the car does not stall, it will often hesitate 2-3 seconds before the engine restarts, leading to multiple near-miss accidents on turns. Electrical warnings will often flash after idle stop, such as "sliding door problem," "collision mitigation malfuction," "anti-theft system malfunction," etc. Battery has been replaced twice with no other remedy offered while in or out of warranty.
Honda has a recall notice to repair the rear camera. We took the car in to get the recall service. The camera stopped working. Honda told us the diagnostic to determine what wasn't working on the camera would cost hundreds of dollars. This was recall service that disabled the camera. We should not be charged and they have messed up our car system.
Started up the van one afternoon a couple months back and a bunch of warning lights came on. ACC failure, auto high beam failure, collision mitigation system failure, lane keep assist failure. These warnings come on every time and these safety features do not work. Dealership diagnoses front camera failure.

On Monday, March 27th While driving at various speeds, the collision mitigation system message flashed on the instrument panel without anything provoking it/no real cause. I observed while driving the vehicle, the warning message repeatedly flashed on the screen before the entire instrument panel went blank. This includes the infotainment system restarting as well, alternatively, I was driving going between 40-60mph and the all-dashboard notification lights started flickering (lane departure warning, odometer, blind spot warning, Collision Mitigation System etc.) it continues to happen randomly while driving at unpredictable times the wheel does lock up for a short time and the vehicle is temporarily not under driver control. It was able to restore, and I was able to regain control of the vehicle other times its last for several seconds. I have captured this incident on video. Additionally, there is also an issue with the vehicle hesitating while accelerating from a stop even with Auto Stop disengaged. On Thursday, June 1st same issue as described above occurred at 8:10AM when issue occurred again the vehicle steering for a 5-8 Second Period was locked and not able to move. Shortly after, I began to record the vehicle. Within a 7-8 Minute Period I was able to capture on video it happening an additional 3 Times.
2018 Honda Odyssey - 120,738 miles at time of occurrence Premature failure of the monocular camera (Honda Part Number 36160-THR-A04). This impacted Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Breaking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assistance and automatic high beams. This part failed very suddenly when I was on a major highway. No warning lamps prior to failure We kept the part for inspection. The problem was confirmed by a Honda dealer and the part was replaced at my expense ($1,335.88). Reported to American Honda who told me this was no longer under warranty. When i tried to find the part myself, it was on a long back order and I was told by many other dealers that this is a common failure

The auto idle on my van has cause problems for over three years. I have reported this to our Honda dealership numerous times. The car dies when I am stopped and I try to take off. Everything in car shuts off - dashboard, A/C, radio, etc. When it does not all the way die when I try to go from a stop, all my collision mitigation warnings start flashing and a few times my car has braked itself. They have blamed it on my battery twice - once they replaced and the next time they made me pay for the battery. Then, they tried to blame it on the master computer switch because my door locks would just lock and unlock as I would drive down the road. They ordered the chip in February 2022 and finally replaced it in August 2022. The van has started locking and unlocking again, collision mitigation warnings go off for no reason, and auto idle is starting to kill the van again when I try to take off.
The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a collision mitigation system message would flash on the instrument panel without incident. Recently, the contact stated that while his wife was driving the vehicle, the warning message repeatedly flashed on the screen before the entire instrument panel went blank. The contact called multiple dealers about the failure but had not yet schedule an appointment for the vehicle to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Vehicle suddenly shifts to Nuetral when driving forward at approximately 30mph to 55mph. The Collision warning system and the Emergency Braking system then shows falt/inoperative on the information display. This is an extremely dangerous situation that causes the vehicle to suddenly lose forward power.

Both the dashboard and the computer shut down randomly, different warning signs pop up intermittently and the wheel locks up for a short time. It happens while driving at unpredictable times. It happened on the highway at the speed of 65 mph. and the vehicle is temporarily is not under driver’s control. Yes, I took the vehicle for repair 3 times. Yes, the certified car dealership had identified different issues but none of them had fixed the problem. No, not by insurance or the manufacturer. No, no warning signs prior. First it happened in July, 2022
While attempting to cross a road the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating. This happened after entering the roadway with heavy traffic and my family in the vehicle, I pressed the accelerator pedal all the way down nothing. Then after a brief 5sec of fear the vehicle jerks into gear making everyone slam back into their seats. This has been reported by many owners on various forums, some of which were in accidents. This will not end well for a few drivers and their families. Honda technicians try and diagnosing this with no luck, said” I’ve never seen this issue, 64K miles great condition no damages to the transmission core unfortunately we are 4K miles over warranty!? At here is a recall for very similar issues same VF 9 speed transmission but my vin didn’t fall under the recall, American Honda said they weren’t going to help because I didn’t have “customer loyalty” I’m asking the technician to dissemble the transmission and take a bunch of pictures to try and help explain how this happened and how to avoid this from happening again because next time we may not be so luck.
The automatic emergency braking system has failed multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection. My safety and the safety of others are put at risk when my vehicle executes unexpected emergency braking. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealer on two different occasions. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives of other, except the Honda dealer. No other warning lamps, messages of other symptoms. Around Feb 1, 2019 the car started applying the brakes when crossing slightly raised railroad tracks. The braking action was hard enough to engage the antilock brake feature. On 2/11/19 the vehicle was taken to AutoWest Honda for warranty repairs at 22,853 miles. The millimeter radar was mis-aimed. This corrected the problem. See attached repair order. On 9/21/20 while driving on the freeway at approximately 65 miles per hour the automatic emergency braking system activated as I passed a vehicle on the right. There were no vehicles in front of me. Braking was again hard enough to activate the anti lock brake system. The vehicle behind me just taped my car. Only a tiny nick was put in my bumper. On 9/22/20 i returned the vehicle to AutoWest Honda. The car had 47,655 miles on the odometer. It was found that the millimeter radar was mis-aligned again. It was realigned free of charge and all was well for the next 22,000 or so miles. On or about 8/25/22, with approximately 66,000 miles on the odometer the automatic emergency braking system activated at about 65 miles per hour as I was passing a vehicle on the right. Again the anti lock braking system activated. The vehicle behind me did not hit my vehicle, but was apparently hit from behind as I saw at least one vehicle run off into the ditch as I looked in my rearview mirror. I believe this to be a design defect in the vehicle The mis-alignment of the millimeter radar appears to be an ongoing problem about every 22,000 miles

I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE WHEN SUDDENLY THE ACC, LKAS, BLIND SPOT, LANE DEPARTURE, WENT ON. ALSO I PARKED MY VEHICLE THEN THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM INDICATOR WENT ON. TOOK IT TO HONDA WAS TOLD IF ITS DRIVEABLE ITS FINE. SO I LEFT. PUT GAS WHICH THE RANGE READ 130 MILES TIL EMPTY HAVE WAY DOWN THE BLOCK I SUDDENLY HAD 121 MILES TIL EMPTY. THERES NO WAY I DROVE 9 MILES.

Four years ago I bought this vehicle, immediately from day one, up until today, the automatic braking system slams on the brake randomly for no reason, sometimes even on highways. I contacted Honda several times and they offered no fix to this. Since the first week of owning the car, up by until today, I need to disable this feature EACH and EVERY time I start the car. The few times I forget, the sudden braking reminds me. I am shocked NHTSA has not investigated this.
I have the car in service for the second time related to errors and issues around Adaptive cruise control, automatic breaking, and collision assist. On a couple occasions the auto braking system engages when there is no need.
OUR 2018 HONDA ODYSSEY ELITE HAS INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE. AS CONTEXT, THE CAR ENGINE WILL AUTOMATICALLY STOP WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FULLY STOPPED, FOR EXAMPLE AT A RED LIGHT, AND A FEW OTHER CONDITIONS ARE MET (BRAKE PEDAL PRESSURE, BATTERY CHARGE, ELECTRICAL LOAD). OUR VEHICLE WHEN AUTO STOPPED MAY STALL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RESUME DRIVING. WHEN THE DRIVER RELEASES THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUSHES THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE CAR FAILS TO AUTO START, OR AUTO STARTS WITH WARNING MESSAGES. WHEN THE CAR FAILS TO START, A VARIETY OF WARNING MESSAGES WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD. REMEDIATION VARIES. THE CAR MAY RESPOND TO SHIFTING TO PARK AND PUSHING THE IGNITION START/STOP BUTTON TWICE. AT TIMES, THE CAR MAY NOT RESPOND TO SHIFTING TO PARK AND IGNITION BUTTON ACTIONS. THE ONLY FIX THEN SEEMS TO BE A 'HARD' SHUTOFF THAT REQUIRES OPENING THE DRIVER DOOR AND PUSHING THE IGNITION BUTTON, CLOSING THE DOOR, PUSHING THE IGNITION BUTTON, AND SHIFTING TO DRIVE. WHEN THE SYSTEM PARTIALLY FAILS, THE FRONT COLLISION WARNING/MITIGATION SYSTEM IS TEMPORARILY DISABLED. MY CAR IS CURRENT ON ALL RECALLS. I RECENTLY HAD DEALER SERVICE, AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE ARE NO KNOWN BULLETINS FOR THIS ISSUE. THE CAR IS CURRENT ON MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND IS OTHERWISE IN VERY GOOD OPERATION CONDITION. THIS SITUATION CAR BE QUITE STRESSFUL WHEN AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, OR WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT TO MERGE INTO A MAJOR ROAD FROM A STOP. THIS FAILURE COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU NEEDED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE QUICKLY, FOR EXAMPLE IF STOPPED NEAR A RAILROAD CROSSING. THE AUTO START/STOP SYSTEM IS ENABLED BY DEFAULT TO IMPROVE FUEL ECONOMY. IT CAN BE MANUALLY DISABLED, HOWEVER IT RESETS WITH EACH SHUTOFF. I WOULD PERMANENTLY DISABLE IT, HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE APPARENTLY FOR EPA REASONS. I HAVE VIDEOS SHOWING THIS BEHAVIOR.

WHEN DRIVING WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE VEHICLE FREQUENTLY ABRUPTLY DECELERATES WHILE TRYING TO PASS OTHER VEHICLES. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF WE ARE BEHIND THE VEHICLE WE ARE TRYING TO PASS AND PULL OUT IN THE LEFT LANE, OR IF WE ARE ALWAYS IN THE LEFT LANE AND JUST APPROACH THE VEHICLE WE ARE TRYING TO PASS WHILE ALWAYS REMAINING IN THE LEFT LANE LIKE ON AN INTERSTATE. OUR VEHICLE IS ALWAYS SAFELY IN OUR LANE AND DOESN'T COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO THE VEHICLE WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO PASS. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO HAVE THE CAMERA ADJUSTED THREE TIMES TO NO AVAIL. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THE ACC ON AS THE ABRUPT DECELERATION CAN RESULT IN US GETTING REAR-ENDED AT PASSING SPEEDS. WE NO LONGER USE THE ACC FEATURE OF THIS VEHICLE WHEN APPROACHING OTHER VEHICLES TO PASS.
