FEDERAL SAFETY RECALL 23V-431 FAILED AFTER FOUR REPAIR ATTEMPTS - MULTIPLE SAFETY SYSTEMS NOW NON-FUNCTIONAL My Honda was subject to Federal Safety Recall 23V-431 (MOST Communication Cable causing backup camera failure). After FOUR repair attempts, the original defect persists AND multiple additional safety-critical systems are now failing. REPAIR HISTORY: August 7, 2023 (30,749 miles) - Honda San Carlos performed recall repair 23V-431. Dealer claimed issue resolved. October 5, 2024 - Original backup camera/infotainment failure returned. I documented with photo evidence but problem was intermittent. September 29, 2025 (48,038 miles) - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Same backup camera failure. Dealer attempted repair. November 18, 2025 (48,928 miles) - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Problem persists. Dealer claimed repair complete. December 20, 2025 - Returned to Honda San Carlos. Original problem PLUS multiple NEW safety system failures now appearing: Backup camera (original recall issue) - STILL FAILING Adaptive Cruise Control - ERROR Collision Mitigation System - ERROR Lane Keep Assist System - ERROR Auto High Beam System - ERROR Front camera - ERROR DEALER RESPONSE: Honda San Carlos now claims new failures are "unrelated" to recall 23V-431 and proposes $2,900 for front camera replacement. I declined as all failing systems communicate via the MOST network that was subject to the original recall. SAFETY CONCERN: I now have a vehicle with MULTIPLE non-functional federally-mandated and safety-critical systems due to what appears to be the same MOST communication defect that recall 23V-431 was supposed to fix. The recall remedy has demonstrably failed and the problem is worsening. Honda's recall remedy is inadequate and has resulted in cascading safety system failures. Vehicle is unsafe to operate with non-functional collision mitigation, lane keep assist, and camera systems.

Multi-Purpose camera has failed according to Honda dealership. No safety features work in the car. You pay for the car to have these features and then they fail after only 3 years? Have been dealing with this issue for almost 2 years now. Honda wants $1,800 for the new camera. This is a safety issue that Honda should be responsible for fixing. No adaptive cruise control, no lane keeping assist, no auto headlights, no collision mitigation, no blind spot alarms.

In December, out of the blue suddenly had rotating list of warning on dash panel (Lane Keeping Assist problem, Collision mitigation system, departure mitigation system problem, auto high-beam problem, Adaptive cruise control problem) plus Brake Warning system light is on constantly and brake hold not working. At first this was intermittent but now on constantly when starting and driving car. Only 55k miles on my Odyssey. Dealer said he had 3 of these in the last three months. Said it was Multi Purpose front camera failure. Cost over $1500. Since huge safety issue putting not only my family but other cars/people at risk, we are paying to repair, however we just found hundreds of people complaining about this same issue. This should be a Honda Recall. We did nothing wrong to cause this safety issue and this part should NOT fail in 5 years. I don't have the final invoice yet but I can upload later if required

The front camera that regulates the adaptive cruise control failed. Now it does not allow for any of the safety features to work. I’ve gone on multiple Honda forums and a lot of people have the same issue.

After researching I find it to be a sensor in the windshield is a common problem
The forward facing camera failed on my 2020 Odyssey with only 90,000 miles. Because of this failure, I am loosing all my forward facing safety features. This seems to be a common issue across many Honda vehicles and most users report being told the issue is being caused by overheating. Since users are being told this is a cause and effect issue, the manufacturer should address this at their expense. I first noticed this issue in mid September 2025.

Several warnings lights appeared on the dash at the same time regarding the accident safety features including: Adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assistance. None are currently working. The warning randomly appeared. It's associated with the camera behind the windshield and the radar detection behind the front emblem. Problem confirmed by dealer. Components have not been evaluated by anyone.

All warning lights came on for Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keeping Assistance.Based on my research, it seems the forward facing camera has failed. The vehicle only has 37,000 miles on it and it is only 5 years old.

Make: Honda Odyssey 2020 Mileage at Failure: ~40,000 miles Incident Description What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The front sensing camera system failed, which controls multiple driver-assistance features, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Lane Departure Mitigation, and Collision Mitigation Braking System. When the issue occurred, all related dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. The vehicle’s front camera module is still installed and can be made available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? When the camera malfunctioned, all driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems were disabled without warning. This created a serious safety concern because the vehicle unexpectedly lost its lane-keeping, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation capabilities while in motion. It increased the risk of a crash, especially during highway driving or when relying on these systems for lane and speed control. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The Honda dealership confirmed the issue after diagnostic testing and stated that the front camera module had failed and must be replaced. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Honda dealership. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. The dashboard displayed multiple warning messages, including: ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Mitigation These warnings appeared suddenly at approximately 40,000 miles and have persisted since. The dealer quoted $2500 Also I found numerous reports from other Honda owners experiencing the same camera-system failure at low millages.
The Infotainment system started blanking out and restarting while driving. This issue has started about 1 year ago to this date. it has occured on multiple occassions, We have brought it to Honda to get it repaired under warranty but they refused. The refusal was due to the fact that they could not "duplicate" the issue regardless of having Video Proof of the issue. The second issue is the Multipurpose camera Malfuncition. My vehicle is no longer under warranty and now I have to shell out $800 USD to fix this issue. All the lights have popped up on the Dash. Both issue have not been adressed by Honda, they refuse to fix the issue with countless other electrical problems that this van has aquired over the short lifespan of this vehicle.
The windshield camera went out. I am now unable to use cruise control auto lights auto breaking.
All of the warning lights shows up on the dash board. Honda told me it’s related to a bad Multi purpose camera. None of the safety features or cruise control will work until the camera is fixed.
Windshield monocular camera has became faulty. No longer have adaptive cruise control, lane departure, forward collision braking. Looks like about a $1,500 expense to fix. Seems like a very common problem.
On Sunday 9/28/2025 I started up my vehicle and received numerous error messages: Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Brake system light I contacted the dealership in which I purchased the vehicle and they did diagnostics. It came back that the front facing camera needs to be replaced. Which is a $2000 repair. After researching online this seems to be a common issue with years 2018-2020 odysseys. This needs to be investigated and a recall issued from Honda USA for remedy as these error messages are concerning when they pop up repeatedly.
The multipurpose camera above the rearview mirror has stopped working. It controls several systems including; adaptive cruise control, automatic brake system, forward collision warning, lane keeping assistance, lane departure warning, automatic high beam control. Every time I start the vehicle I have to clear 6 different malfunction warnings and non of the effected systems will function. There is an increased risk of accidents. I just had a vehicle diagnostic ran at Flow Honda of Charlottesville VA and they quoted me a price of $2,060 to replace the part.

My Honda's multipurpose camera system has failed without warning or apparent cause. Upon starting my vehicle, I now receive multiple alert lights indicating simultaneous failures in critical safety systems including: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) Collision Mitigation System Road Departure Mitigation System Auto High Beam functionality Occasionally, all the system failure alerts go away. According to my local Honda dealership, this represents an "internal failure" of the multipurpose camera unit (code U300-49). The dealership wants >$2,000 to fix the issue that appears to be a widespread known problem. There was no warning before the complete system shutdown, and all safety features connected to this camera are now non-functional.

For the last few days I turn on my car and get alert lights that I have problems with: the ACC, LKAS, collision mitigation, road departure mitigation systems and auto high beams. From online Honda forums I can see that many people have had these problems and it’s likely due to needing to have the windshield camera replaced. This is a 2020 model but I bought it new in 2021, so it is less than 5 years old and I’ve got 94k miles on it. Honda markets itself on its safety features, but nearly all of my safety features are not operating properly less than 5 years from the date of purchase, it’s a widespread issue, and Honda still has not issued a recall.
Internal failure of the multipurpose camera/millimeter wave radar unit with code U300-49; available for inspection upon request. All safety features linked to multipurpose camera such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto high beam, collision mitigation system, and road departure mitigation system are no longer functional. This problem has been confirmed at the local Honda dealership in addition to the numerous forum posts made by like Honda Odyssey owners with this same reoccurring issue. There were no warning symptoms or messages prior to failure.
The camera sensor is malfunctioning. It is affecting the collision sensor and lane assist sensor. Also adaptive cruise control, road mitigation and auto high beams. My vehicle is scheduled for diagnostics with a dealer, but seeing the many, many cases and videos online of the same problem, i am certain of the problem since it has been confirmed by others who have already paid for this costly repair. My warning lamps come on every time I start my vehicle. This is a definite safety issue since the issue is with the safety sensors.
The front multipurpose camera has failed “due to internal failure” according to the service tech at local Honda dealer. The camera functions - lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, front collision warning, and auto High beam lights, have not functioned for the past month. The windshield was replaced more than a year ago and no other incidents caused the failure, so it seems the camera itself is the issue. My van only has 63,868 miles on it.

I’m have had trouble with the infotainment center since less than 5,000 miles. Supposedly it was fixed during a recall. I still have issues with it. Shortly after the recall was done, I started having all kinds of dash lights come on. Transmission system problems, adaptive cruise control problems, lane assist problem, emergency breaking problems, forward collision problems, and so on. All together, they are about 7 different lights. The rear air/heat no longer work at all. Every so often, I crank it and the radio is black. Won’t work unless I restart the car. Auto headlights no longer work. Side mirrors no longer adjust. Sunroof will no longer open. Interior lights don’t work. Automatic doors and trunk lift do not work. I can’t even lock the van anymore. When I crank it, I have to hold the key fob on the ignition button and press 3 or more times before it cranks. Switch batteries in the key fob and still no different. I paid a lot of money for this van after never having one issue out of my 2014 Odyssey. The 2020 has been nothing but a nightmare since a month after I purchased it. I will never buy or recommend a Honda vehicle to anyone. In fact, I will discourage anyone who tells me they’re thinking about a Honda purchase. I am now stuck with a barely working vehicle because who can afford another car in this economy?

The multipurpose camera in mounted underneath the rearview mirror stopped working. No apparent reason for the malfunction to shut the vehicle off while filling gas and then five different warning lights occurred, including issues with lane keep assist, adaptive, cruise control, automatic, breaking, and several other safety features no explanation for the failure when that vehicle was taken to the dealer and currently being charged $2500 for a replacement of the camera and labor associated with the repair. My belief is that the system is malfunctioning due to overheating, which is a design issue associated with the vehicle and isn’t something that I should be responsible for.

When turning on vehicle the attached picture’s warning lights show on dashboard. Unable to reset them. Vehicles collision sensor not engaged when driving. Road departure will not activate when vehicle drifts of interstate lanes. Cruise control will not work at all. Brake system light will not reset even when brakes and fluids are good. With all these issues, vehicle safety devices don’t provide any safety. These could result in bodily injury and even death.

On [XXX], while driving my wife to the RDU airport, our Odyssey's engine failed to restart after an Auto Idle Stop (AIS) at a busy intersection in Greensboro. Instead of starting, the dashboard displayed a Collision Mitigation System Problem alert, the Drive ("D") indicator light started flashing, and then the dashboard displayed a "Shifting to Park: Apply Brake Pedal" message. We were stranded at a busy stoplight, at the front of a dedicated left-turn lane, unable to drive or shift to park as instructed. The only way to resolve the issue was to hold the Start/Stop button for several seconds to shut the vehicle off. And the vehicles behind us had to swerve around us because our malfunctioning vehicle was blocking the lane. This problem has recurred semi-regularly since [XXX], forcing us to manually disable the Auto Idle Stop feature on every drive to prevent being stranded in traffic. An independent mechanic found no stored diagnostic codes but identified relevant Honda Technical Service Bulletins (23-008 and 23-009) addressing similar AIS failures. A Honda service center misdiagnosed the issue as a faulty battery, but subsequent testing by the independent shop confirmed the battery was in excellent working order. The actual Auto Idle Stop malfunction remains undiagnosed. The vehicle and its Auto Idle Stop system remain available for inspection. This issue appears to be part of the ongoing NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA25-004. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Multiple warnings regarding Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning problems. Honda says it is the front multi-camera. The vehicle works fine intermittently, but doesn’t more often than not. Issue started to occur shortly after a wiring harness recall.

The Multipurpose Camera Unit failed in my 2020 Honda Odyssey. This camera is responsible for enabling multiple advanced driver-assistance systems, including the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM), Adaptive Cruise Control, and Auto High Beams. The component has not been replaced yet and is available for inspection upon request. The failure of the camera disabled multiple critical safety systems while the vehicle was in operation. These systems are designed to prevent lane departures, collisions, and unintentional road exits, especially at higher speeds. With the systems offline, I was at increased risk of collision or lane departure, particularly on highways or in low visibility conditions. This malfunction removed key layers of protection that the vehicle is designed to provide. The issue was confirmed by a Honda dealership on August 8th 2025, which diagnosed the problem as a failed multipurpose camera unit. They acknowledged that this malfunction disables all related safety systems. The vehicle was inspected by a certified Honda dealership technician, but not by police, insurance, or the manufacturer directly at this time. Multiple dashboard warning messages appeared simultaneously one day when starting the vehicle, including: "Collision Mitigation System Problem" "Road Departure Mitigation System Problem" "Lane Keeping Assist Problem" "Adaptive Cruise Control Problem" "Auto High-Beam Problem" These messages first appeared on or around the end of June 2025, and the systems were disabled immediately upon the failure.
The forward-facing camera and/or radar unit failed one morning while running errands, resulting in 5 separate ADAS system failures. With these safety features not working, our safety and the safety of others is at risk. We took it to our dealer and were told we would have to pay a diagnostic fee of $205, even though they clearly already knew what the problem was- based on the multiple complaints through NHTSA and various other forums and websites from Odyssey and other Honda model owners and across multiple years. The problem was confirmed by the dealer and they quoted us $2025 and we're still not sure if that includes just the camera and/or the radar unit, which is another $600 part. Other dealers have quoted only $1200 to fix the exact same thing, with others charging more than double that. The 5 separate warning messages scroll across our screen repeatedly and are very distracting as you're driving. With multiple electrical issues already in recall status by Honda, this is another one that they should be taking responsibility for and not dumping this defective electrical repair on their customers. Who's to say that we won't be in this exact same predicament 3 or 5 years from now if the part or parts aren't fixed! Definitely expect more from Honda... very disappointed and feel betrayed by the inferior parts they're passing on as quality products.
For the past couple of weeks, every time I drive the car, I get a number of error messages regarding problems with the advanced driver assistance features. These include: "Adaptive Cruise Control Problem", "Collision Mitigation System Problem", Lane Keeping Assist Problem", "Road Departure Mitigation System Problem", and "Auto High-Beam Problem". A diagnostic check showed error U3000-49, namely "Control Module Internal Electronic Failure". I took it to a shop, they ran diagnostics and told me I needed to replace the multifunction camera in the windshield. It seems to be a common problem and is very expensive to fix, at more than $2000.
Several months ago my wife was driving when the automatic brake system engaged when a car was turning in front of her. This engagement startled her and she felt the emergency braking was unnecessary considering the speed and distance the car was in front of her. This incident concerned her and made her lose confidence in the safety of the car. Then just recently we began encountering a almost consistent but sometimes intermittent brake System Error along with multiple trouble notices about problems with Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keep Assist System, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, etc.. when using the car. We received an error code U3000-49 reporting an Internal electronic failure in the multipurpose camera unit. Online searches of this issue seem to be very common and concerning on how many are occurring considering this is a safety system. Our van has approximately 54,000 miles on it.

All Honda Sensing technology is not working and brake system indicator is on. ACC, LKAS, Collision mitigation, auto high beam, road departure. I read online that a lot of Honda Odyssey owners are experiencing same problem. It could be the front camera sensor.I have always had electrical problems with car. There crackling sounds when the radio or music is playing on the stereos.
The front camera is malfunctioning, affecting all of my safety sensors.

While driving, all at once several messages displayed, all of which are related to forward facing camera. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High Beam disabled along with the BRAKE SYSTEM light turning on When I researched the internet, there are alot a people report this problem with the HONDA forward facing camera witch supports the systems listed this failures. Talking to friends and neighbors they have had the same issues, it is about a $2000 fix to replace and recalibrate the camera link to user forum [XXX] Most of the reported issues including mine are related to heat, the camera is in an enclosure located at the top center of the windshield. We just had heat indexes above 100 degrees. The camera is always hot to the touch. I also had this issue in the past put happened whole under warranty. The multipurpose camera in the vehicle failed, causing multiple warning lights to come on related to the collision warning, blind spot warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and others. The dealership said it needed to be replaced, as it was no longer working and none of these features would work without replacement
The multipurpose camera that sits behind the windshield has completely failed, deactivating many automated safety features. The dealer quoted $2700.00 to replace.

The ADAS front windshield camera failed on our 2020 Honda Odyssey. This vehicle is too new to have a failure like this and this is a very common issue that I have seen across all Honda Odysseys of same generation. Honda needs to be held accountable.
My Honda Odyssey, after a hot summer day showed error codes related to the front camera. The Adaptive cruise control problem (ACC), Auto high-beam (A); Road departure mitigation system, collision/braking mitigation system; lane keeping assist problem (LKAS) now are non-functional. Various internet users complain of the same issues without a conclusive source for the problem. It is either related to battery voltage or front-camera failure (possible due to heat/sun exposure). The 2020 vehicle was purchased used from dealer in 2024 where the battery was stated to have been replaced/new. Further, my vehicle has the infotainment package (TV/DVD) which has also previously drawn down the battery even after the car was shut off (i.e., the electronics and/air conditioning are drawing too much battery and causing low voltages that impact the camera-based sensors). Multiple internet users complain of parasitic battery draw, fuses, poor oem batteries, and faulty behaviors with the camera system.
Took it to certified Honda garage to solve another issue and now there is an issue with the Front facing camera system. - adaptive cruise control - lane keeping assistant - collision mitigation system - road departure mitigation system - auto high beam system
The problem first appeared in May 2025 when multiple system failure lights illuminated simultaneously. After confirming the battery and alternator were in good condition, I took the van to Honda of Cleveland (2701 S Lee Hwy, Cleveland, TN 37311) for a diagnosis. Their service department confirmed that the ADAS Front Camera (36160-THR-A91) had failed, which disabled the following safety systems: Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keeping Assistance. I asked if this is a wear component (expected to need replacement over time) and was informed that it is not. The quoted cost to replace the camera and calibrate was approximately $1,400.
Multipurpose front windshield camera stops working and many safety features are affected by this camera. Lane departure warning is not working, lane keeping assistance not working, blind spot warning not working, brake system warnings. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and they confirm that the cause of all this problems is the Multipurpose front windshield camera. There was no warnings at all when this happens.
Multiple warning lights: 1. ACC- adaptive cruise control 2. LKAS- lane keeping assist problem 3. Collision Mitigation System Problem 4. Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 5. Auto high beam Problem Safety issues: With almost all of these not working the risk of avoiding a possible accident is greatly increased. An independent service center read errors for the CAN. No prior warnings, they just came up. I have replaced the battery and the issues were not resolved. An inspection is possible.

Our Odyssey has had mounting concerns w/electrical system. These are safety issues. 10/20. Work done related to electrical system-rear camera having issues. Left/rt rear door wires were replaced due to recall. Software update completed. Gage control module software updated-know issue.10/23: rear windshield wiper not functioning-electrical issue & pump malfunctioned. Idol stop was not properly working. The car would stall out at stoplights as lifting foot off the brake & attempting to accelerate. Battery was replaced at this time & the vehicle was only 3 years old-we were charged. Issues with our car are electrical related & are seeing many others with similar issues. 8/24-11/24: key fob batteries died. After batteries were changed, issues with the power windows began immediately. Windows would not going/up or down all the way and were sticking. Soon after they stopped working all together. Auto locks wouldn’t work & the gas tank latch had to manually open to fill the gas tank. Finally took the car in for diagnosis. Said the motor in the door was broken & needed to be replaced. We were not convinced that this was the real issue b/c the problem began immediately after the fob battery issue. Instead of new parts, the dealer glued pieces together & gave us a discounted price. This was & is a real safety concern especially knowing windows were altogether not functioning & we don't believe that it was properly addressed. 2/25: After snow/icy weather front passenger side windshield wiper dispenser/sprayer wasn’t working. Upon checking, discovered it had become dislodged. Adjusted the piece & reattached this piece into place. As soon as car was turned on ,right after reinserting the piece into place warning lights came on-all brake/lane mitigation lights. After diagnosis, said it was an issue with camera at windshield & the camera needed to be replaced. Odyssey groups state electrical issue are know and many w/2020 Odysseys. 5/25 Issues are beginning again with idol stop.
Recently, my 2020 Honda Odyssey required a new battery replacement. Shortly after the battery was replaced, the front camera system failed unexpectedly. This failure has caused a complete loss of all safety features dependent on the front camera, including but not limited to: Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) A diagnostic assessment revealed that the front camera system needs replacement with an estimated cost of $1,200. This issue arose without any previous physical damage to the camera or windshield and appears to be electronic or firmware related. According to Honda, this happens frequently when a battery is replaced. Context of Vehicle History: This vehicle has already been subject to 11+ recalls, which have affected various major systems and components. The accumulation of defects and the continuing need for critical system repairs is deeply concerning, particularly for a relatively recent model known for its family-oriented safety features. Owner’s Statement: Given the number of recalls and now a costly camera system failure that directly affects key safety functions, I find this situation unacceptable for a vehicle of this age and mileage (72,000). The loss of these features significantly compromises driver and passenger safety. I believe this issue may be part of a broader reliability concern and request that Honda (or the responsible service entity) address this matter urgently and consider full or partial financial assistance for the repair.

The front camera/sensor broke and is not covered under Honda’s warranty. This affects the adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, collision mitigation system, road departed mitigation, and auto high-beam.

Starting at 50,000, I began receiving six different warning signs every time I turn on my car: (1) collision mitigation problem, (2) auto high beam warning, (3) lane keeping assist problem, (4) road departure mitigation problem, (5) adaptive cruise control problem, and (6) brake system light stays on. Online forums show this is a pervasive problem with 2020-2021 Odysseys at around 50,000 miles. Took it dealer for diagnostic, paid $229, and told me it would cost $2,000+ to fix.

The vehicle automatically brakes when approaching a small bridge crossing that had a slight 2 inch lip from pavement to bridge concrete , it also tries to alert of a collision when going around a slight curve when a vehicle is passing .

The camera is faulty and I've brought it in once early on and the dealer said a wire needed to be tightened. It happened again and they said no such loose wire this time. The code says camera needs to be replaced. I don't even have 100k miles on this car and it's going bad. Faulty part and I know this is happening a lot.

Turned on the car. It was parked for 1 day after the last driving event with no issues. Today was 15 degrees hotter than yesterday. The following errors popped up on the dashboard: Adaptive cruise control problem Collision mitigation system problem Lane keeping assist problem Road departure mitigation system problem Auto high beam problem All of the advanced safety features which utilize the front camera and sensors are deactivated. Car was turned off and restarted multiple times, windshield cleaned, and car cooled down, but the warnings remain each time. This specific issue has happened 5 times over the past year. The dealer was never able to replicate the issue as it would go away as soon as the car was restarted. This time, the warning lights would not go away.

The front camera has failed for apparently no reason at all. There has been no crash, no damage on our end. We turned the car on and all of the safety warnings came on. The dealership has inspected it and said the code is for the camera failing. Many warning lights appear on the dash due to none of the safety features working without the front camera. This has caused all of the adaptive safety features to fail. There have been no recalls yet, despite the recalls for the rear camera, and many other odyssey owners having the same issue with the front camera. We have reported it to honda and were told that it has been reported by others, but not enough times to issue a recall. It is expensive to fix and poses a serious danger to leave due to none of the safety features working. This is a manufacturing defect that honda is not taking seriously.

Front facing camera went out on a 2020 model. Several warning lights appear related to lane assist, front collision warnings, and automatic emergency braking. These safety features are important, and Honda should issue a recall. The camera is around $800 to replace, plus another $800-$1000 to install and calibrate. Car is only 5 years old, and there have been other camera/electrical related problems, and many recalls. Please hold Honda accountable to fix their declining reliability issues.

We have 2020 Honda Odyssey with 4500 miles and multi purpose camera quit working and Honda service center ran a scan and confirmed malfunction of camera and replacement costed over $1600. Internet tells me that many other similar vehicle have similar issue. It should be a recall and fixed free.
Out of nowhere I got a bunch of errors involving the addaptive cruise, lane keep assist, auto highbeams, collision avoidance, and the brake system light came on. the van has under 40K miles on it. From a quick search I can see that this is a VERY common issue.

Over 8 multiple safety warnings turned up on dashboard on many occasions while driving. Also, vehicle fails to issue a code on OBD and Honda rep claims they’ve never seen anything like this after showing them video proof of multiple occurrences. I’ve seen many complaints online. My wife drives this vehicle with young children and doesn’t feel safe while driving it because of it stating multiple safety warnings.

On 3/3/2025, the multipurpose camera started failing and I was seeing warning lights all tied to this system. Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High-Beam Problem, and Break System lights all came on. The problem was confirmed by the Honda dealership claiming there was an internal short that caused the issue. The component hasn't been inspected beyond this initial diagnosis. My family's safety is at risk with this malfunction in the event that we need assistance with breaking in an emergency situation, the vehicle can no longer take steps to prevent the car from drifting outside its lane and the high beams will no longer automatically turn off because the car can no longer sense oncoming traffic. Our insurance appraiser verified that this wasn't the cause of any collision, and the dealer has stated that this system should have lasted longer than expected.

The multifunction forward looking camera in the top of the windshield developed an "internal fault" and either needs replacement or these safety features will fail to work. These safety features allow me to avoid accidents. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. There are warning lamps that state that these features are no longer working.

We bought this van with a clean bill of health as far as accidents and single owner prior to us. The car had a documented maintenance history but after 5K miles of driving it the active cruise control began to through all kinds of errors. I researched this issue and find that many more Honda owners with active cruise control have the same issue. A few customers say that they had their front camera replaced and calibrated for a cost of about $1,600.00 only to have the error show up again. I am writing this message to report that in my case I have found a work around. It’s not a permanent fix but points to Honda’s computer throwing a false positive error that is costing a great deal of money to Honda owners. On our van when this error happens, I force a diagnostic scan followed by a forced computer reboot and the warning lights are fixed an all equipment back to working. It’s horrible to read that Honda charges $1,600.00 to replace perfectly good parts in all their line without taking the time to truly diagnose their issues with ACC errors and do good to their customers. I hope this helps reach someone who can further investigate this issue with Hondas. In our family’s case we are lucky that I have an IT background and was able to find a fix for this issue without any costs to our family financials and avoided paying Honda to replace perfectly working components due to their lack of knowledge of how their equipment works. The windshield camera malfunction caused a loss of all adaptive features include: lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, regular cruise control, collision prevention, automatic emergency braking system, and automatic highbeam.
After driving for about a minute, there is a beep and the brake system warning light comes on. Then the dash begins cycling through multiple warning messages - LKAS/ACC/CMBS/RDM - and will not stop. Now the repair shop tells us that the front multipurpose camera ADAS needs to be removed and replaced, and the ADAS calibrated. Including the fee to diagnose the issue, total cost is $2,980. Van has about 56,500 miles. We have already had it towed twice for battery replacement following similar symptoms, and had battery replaced both times. But with the new battery only 3 months old, it became clear the issue was bigger.
Vehicle was acting normally, and unexpectedly 5 warning alarms came in concurrently all related to ADAS features, creating confusion for the driver. No other abnormalities were observed. Vehicle runs and drives normally. All the ADAS features are disabled and the warning lights continue to display every time the vehicle is driven. There is no way to disable the lights and the culprit of the alarms is a bad multipurpose camera behind the windshield. Honda wants around$1500 (parts and labor) to replace the camera. A quick search finds this a common complaint amongst Odyssey owners and a recall should be issued.

__ The present complaint alleges as follows: 1. Honda has a defective design in the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) of all Honda Odysseys, models 2018-2023. 2. Namely, Honda has placed the RADAR behind the large HONDA emblem on the front grille. This causes the radar to give a "RADAR OBSTRUCTED" warning, which disables all Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in the car (Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning). 3. The "RADAR OBSTRUCTED" warning cannot be reset by restarting the vehicle or disconnecting the battery, requiring recalibration of the RADAR at the cost of $800 each time since it takes several hours to do (per Dealership). 4. The official Honda Odyssey Forum online has countless complaints on the same issue without resolution by Honda. 5. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers since this defect impacts the vehicle's advanced safety features for which buyers incur additional expenses, endangering the lives of passengers. 6. Honda has acted in bad-faith towards their customers by designing a system that requires continuous and substantial expenditures without resolution because it is an engineering problem, i.e., the placement of the radar behind the large, thick plastic H emblem obstructs the radar. 7. I hereby ask that the NHTSA investigate this issue and order Honda to offer a solution in the form of a RECALL that permanently addresses the problem.

Several engine failures, starting one month after purchase in September 2020. multiple system failures (all on video) leading to very poor acceleration and operation. No compression in engine and only able to go 20 mph. White-Allen Honda made four attempts to solve the matter over the course of two years. The dealer has had the car a total of 120 days. Then end of December 2024 then engine began making a knocking sound and I was told it needed at new engine, to the tune of $10,000.00. Then I see a recall for a similar issue but only up to 2019 Odysseys. Please help find resolution for this.
While driving on 12/20/2024 the 2020 Honda Odyssey started showing 5 warning lights (ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, & Auto High-Beam Problem) on the dashboard, along with the “BRAKE SYSTEM” light. After these messages and light popped up, the cruise control would not work. The crash mitigation system would not work (automatic breaking). The lane assist would not work as well. All of these safety features would not work which posed a combined severe safety issue to my family while driving the van, and those around me on the highway. After parking the van, I Googled these messages and saw that not only was this an issue with my model of Odyssey, but with several of Honda’s vehicles which use the same Monocular Camera. After getting my battery checked to ensure there was no low voltage issue (to which there was non and the battery checked out okay), I took the van to a Honda dealership. The Honda dealership performed a “Express Service Multi-Point Inspection” diagnostic test and told me on 12/23/2024 that the Monocular Camera was defective, which controls all of the safety systems listed above. On 01/02/2025, the Honda dealership replaced the defective Monocular Camera, to which they charged me full price for the Monocular Camera part itself and the labor to put the Monocular Camera in the Odyssey. Once the repair occurred, ALL of the messages and lights on the dashboard have cleared and all of the safety systems mentioned above are now working correctly.

I am writing to report a significant safety issue with my 2020 Honda Odyssey. The Front Assembly Assist Monocular Camera (OEM part 36160-THR-C01-M1) has failed, causing the loss of several critical safety features, including auto high beam, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation, and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). The local Honda dealership diagnosed the issue as an internal fault in the camera unit. Through research, I have discovered this failure is not an isolated incident. Numerous reports from other Odyssey owners highlight similar issues with the camera leading to the deactivation of these safety features. For example, discussions on the Honda Odyssey Forum and other online platforms describe widespread failures of front-camera-dependent systems, including lane-keeping and collision avoidance features. These failures compromise vehicle safety, potentially increasing the risk of accidents. The camera’s malfunction disables essential systems designed to enhance driver awareness and prevent collisions, leaving drivers vulnerable in critical situations. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this issue, as the consistency of these reports suggests a systemic problem. A recall or corrective action may be necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of these vehicles. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

After owning this vehicle for a little over a year without issues, I turned on the vehicle and randomly received the following five (5) error messages: Collision Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control Problem (ACC), Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, and Auto High-Beam Problem. I realized that other Honda Odyssey owners have mentioned receiving the same error messages, especially around my year (2020). The believe all of the error messages are related to the same component - either faulty wiring, camera system, or install issue. The error messages come on every time I turn on the vehicle now. I live in Texas and the first day it occurred was especially hot - it first occurred in the summer months. It is now December with mild weather and the error messages still occur. It is worrisome because the Collision Mitigation System was among the safety features that contributed to us purchasing the vehicle.

I have less than 35k miles on my car and I have 5 warning that appeared out of no where. My car has never been in an accident and I take care of it. I searched on YouTube and apparently this is very common issue. It cost $3500 to fix and needs to be with a dealer. The 5 warnings are Issue with car 1) Lane keep problem assist, 2)auto-high beam problem, 3) road departure mitigation system, 4)adaptive cruise control, 5) collision mitigation system, The car is 4 years old and should not have this problem but a lot of people who own the same exact model have tge same issue. Honda needs to do a recall and fix it for free
I just started up the car one morning and had multiple sensor warnings. Brought it to the Honda dealership and told it was an internal sensor camera malfunction and wanted $2000+ to fix it. This honestly should be a recall as I’ve had several other Honda owners complaining about the same thing which is a huge safety concern

All of a sudden warnings appear related to Collision Mitigation system Problem Lane Keeping Assist Problem Auto High Beam Problem Adaptive cruise control problem Road departure mitigation problem This is a major issue. I don’t feel safe driving this car with my family. Therefore NHTSA should get Honda to issue a recall for this vehicle given the magnitude and sheer scale of the problem. Below is one of many such forums where people who model years 2018-2020 have the exact same problem. https://www.odyclub.com/threads/lkas-acc-collision-avoidance-auto-high-beam-problem.373456/page-2?nested_view=1&sortby=oldest
There are five warning indicator on the dashboard complaining about Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keeping Assistance. I took the car to the Honda dealership, and they acknowledged that they were due toan internal failure of the multipurpose camera.

Car was operating fine on the way to a game on 11/25/2024. Parked and went inside to watch game. After the game I went to my car and when I cranked it all the warnings below came on. **Auto High Beam problem **ACC problem **Brake System problem **LKAS problem those are the warnings I can remember. I immediately cut the car off and walked around to see if maybe I had been hit while parked cause something told me it could be a camera issue with the LKAS problem 🤷🏼♀️. I had not been hit. The car was fine and just as it was when I parked it. I cranked it again and the lights were still on showing problems and stayed on. I took it to the dealership and they said it's the multi-purpose camera malfunction/went out and needs new one.
I have a 2020 Honda Odyssey and had it into the dealer for service. The battery needed to be replaced. I replaced the battery myself and had the below 5 error messages. 1-Lane departure 2-Aptive cruise control 3-Auto High beams 4-forward Collison 5-Lane keep assistant This is all failures due to the front camera monocular. This failure can cause auto accident due to it malfunctioning. This issue was discovered at a private dealer and a the car dealership. Per the dealer this is a known issue and very common issue. Honda needs to make this a warranty recall and issue

ACC system started giving errors, diagnostics ran at Honda pointed to multi function camera. System was quoted for replacement at 1500 this seems to be a big problem across these models. Please investigate.
This is the second time I’ve had to bring my car in. I have a variety of different warning signs popping up and I see that I’m not the only person that this is happened to when I look at Reddit online the malfunction is somewhere within the car system and it’s because of a windshield camera, which has nothing to do with the, warning signs that I am getting on my car. This needs to be recalled and fixed for free.
Shortly after purchasing my vehicle and replacing the battery, I received multiple dashboard warnings. I took it in to the dealership, and I was advised that the van's multipurpose camera located behind the rear view mirror needed to be replaced. I have researched this issue and this appears to be very common with the Honda Odysseys. The vehicle is less than 48 months old, and it's already an issue? Wondering if this can be logged so that it can be recalled.
It seems our multi-purpose camera is malfunctioning and therefore causing all of the systems to go offline and light up on the dashboard when we turn on the car. It seems the only solution is to replace this. That seems insane that we should have to pay for this if this is a major safety feature of the car and one of the reasons we purchased the vehicle.

September 2024, i bought my car to the dealership to check multiple warning lights showed up on my dashboard. The dealer read the code and determine the multipurpose windshield camera had internal malfunction. The dealer told me that my multipurpose windshield camera need to be replace on my 60k mi 2020 Odyssey EX-L for ~$2.3k in Conshohocken PA. I had many of those sensor lights on (e. g. ACC, lane assist, collision mitigation) and saw many comments on a YouTube video (Honda Odyssey Warning Lights Bonanza Get Ready to PAY). Do my research online; seem like this happened a lot for the Honda Odyssey from year 2017 to year 2020 Hope NHTSA will investigate on this issue. It a very expensive fix for the vehicle barely break in. With all those safety feature disengage/malfunction at the same time, it is a very dangerous issue.

Drove to grocery store, did not have any codes, when I got back in my car and restarted I received these 5 errors: Adaptive Cruise Control Auto High Beam Problem Lane Keeping Assist Problem Collision Mitigation System Problem Road Departure Mitigation System Problem
The multicamera display unit is defective. It operates several systems and cause multiple warning issues. I believe the design is flawed. In addition to the warnings, both the display for driving information ( speed, rpm, temp, etc.) go blank and the AV unit (radio, entertainment, etc) shuts off too.

Started the vehicle on 7/3. Multiple warning lights show on my dashboard: 1. ACC problem 2. Collision Mitigation Problem 3. LKA Problem 4. Auto High Beam Problem I took it to Purrfect Auto (as I had just had work done). They claim it is a software issue (per Honda) and did a reset of the dashboard (I was not charged for this). Problem was fixed. Later that day when I started the car, the warning lights came back. About 4 out of 5 times I start the car, the warning lights return. I had a long road trip (8-hours) a week later. So when I started the car and the warning lights came back, I would turn off the car and open and close the door (to turn off the computer). After I turned off and on the car 3 or 4 more times, the warning lights weren't on, so we started our road trip. This is a safety issue because I am now used to 4 years of Lane Keeping Assistance and Collision Mitigation. For the first time in 4 years, I experienced *3* near collisions with other vehicles due to the failure of these systems. This issue was inspected by the mechanics at Purrfect Auto. There were no other warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to this failure.
Front Camera failure resulted in failure of Adaptive Cruise Control Automatic Emergency Braking Blind Spot Warning Forward Collision Warning Lane Departure Warning Lane Keeping Assistance Parking Collision Warning Rear Cross Traffic Warning
It’s starting raining and the brake system light came on and hasn’t went off.
I was driving, and there was a car coming from the opposite direction in their own lane, and nowhere near my car, and the automatic braking slammed on the brakes. This was just the worst instance of it malfunctioing.

On 6-11-24 The warning lights cycle through Auto Highbeam problem Lane Keeping assist Adaptive Cruise Control Collision Mitigation System problem Road departure Mitigation System problem Earlier in the day I had maintenance at the dealership performed on my car: brake fluid , trans svc,new tires and alignment, oil change and rotate tires, ac filter change, air cleaner element replaced. I went back to dealer on 7-1 and was told it was a multi purpose camera failure. This had not previously occurred until immediately after the maintenance work was performed.
After the last recall I had corrected by Honds, I started having issues with my LKAS system. The following notifications started coming periodically and now they always come on every time i start my 2020 Honda Odyssey. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Mitigation System, Road Departure Mitigation System, and Auto High-Beam. The local Honda dealership quoted $1400 for a new camera.
The design defect of the camera in front of the car seriously affects the life safety of the driver. The dealer did not pay attention to this problem. The car did not collide, but six error prompts appeared during driving: Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High-Beam Problem.
Our vehicle is only a few years old and the front camera failed. It will not do any Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, etc. Honda refuses to cover this even though it is a manufacturer defect.
At random the following would come on when driving or when starting the vehicle up. It would also reset itself at random. Very scary when you have small children in the van. 1.Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) 2.Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM) 3.Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) 4.Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) 5. Auto head lights The vehicle has not been in any collision. This started after a required update was installed. The code reader scan code does not match what is being stated. When you are using the cruise control then it would turn off. Brake warning will not work. The cable harness for the audio for the entire van was redone last Summer 2023
Adaptive cryise control, collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, lane keeping assist, auto high beam all have errors and are not working. It happened without cause. Apparently it isn't uncommon for radar and sensor safety systems to just fail for no reason. The dealer said it could take several days to figure out the cause then a lot of money to fix it. The safety systems should not fail for no reason.
1. Issue: *Multiple (5+) warning lights on dash [i.e. road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, auto high beam warning, collision mitigation system problem etc.] 2. Honda Dealer diagnosed & confirmed the issue as "multi purpose internal camera failure" 3. A failed camera affects safety related functionality which affects the safety of both driver and other drivers. 4. The issue first appeared March 16th, 2024
Multipurpose front camera failure causing adaptive cruise, lane keep, auto highbeams, and collision mitigation to be disabled at 51k miles, error code U3000-49
All systems associated with the Lane Keeping Assist System are intermittent. No event caused them to initially fail and no discernible conditions cause it to fail currently. The system works intermittently.
Was driving to work while raining.hit a water puddle hydroplaned, The stop brake warning light came, vehiical slammed on the brakes, and the steering wheel locked up. There where not other vehicals on the road.Rolled the vehical 3 times. On several occasions our honda van has slammed on the brakes without any vehicle or obstacle present.
The entire ADAS system has begun loosing sensing capabilities for a time period but start working again later. It comes and goes regularly at this point. This inconsistency could cause and accident. There are system problem warning lights on the dash when the system is down. The car is too new for this issue. The dealer reports that the front camera is the issue but I would think it has more to do with the wiring possibly shorting out.

All advanced driver assistance systems have stopped working while driving. This has also caused brake and transmission errors to show.

LKAS, Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning all malfunctioned. Dealer inspected and determined it is an overheated camera that controls all the mentioned safety functions. This happened while driving on highway and has never worked again. I did confirm with the dealer this is the 3 instance they have seen of this in the past 3 months.
This event happens intermittently, and has occurred approximately 4 times. When the issue occurs it happens as follows: 1. Vehicle comes to a complete stop, and driver's foot has depressed brake pedal 2. Vehicle automatic start/stop feature turns off engine. 3. Driver lifts foot off pedal, begins to apply pressure to gas pedal. 4. Vehicle automatically re-starts engine 5. Vehicle starts to move forward, and then lurches - it feels like the brakes are being applied by the vehicle independently from the driver's action. 6. Alerts start appearing on the dashboard - a message that the Forward Collision Warning System has been disabled and the "BRAKE" light starts flashing for 30 seconds to a minute afterwards. 7. Vehicle then starts to move forward without issue, Collision System message goes away, but BRAKE light on instrument cluster continues to flash for a period of time. This issue presents a safety risk as the vehicle does not respond to driver's input as expected when this issue occurs, appears to brake on its own. Interferes with a driver's ability to move through an intersection after stoping. I have taken the vehicle to a Honda dealership (Penske Honda, Indianapolis Indiana) and they were unable to replicate the issue and did not find any stored error codes in the vehicle comptuer.

Front windshield camera, controls adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure mitigation, front collision mitigation, auto high beam, all the lights came on and all the features stopped working. We were 1500 miles from home when this happened had it repaired at a dealership $1300. I called Honda corporate and after 2 days a customer service representative called me back. He told me the vehicle was 2500 miles out of warranty and it's a car and cars are going to break down. That I should drive it back home and have the dealership repair it and they might be able to help with some kind of reimbursement. I did not want to drive it that far without all the systems functioning so he said well that's on me.
The following errors suddenly appeared one-at-a-time, causing all the advanced driver assistance capabilities to stop working, including regular cruise control: * ACC - Adaptive Cruise Control Problem * LKAS - Lane Keeping Assist Problem * Collision Mitigation System Problem * Road Departure Mitigation System Problem * Auto High-Beam Problem * Brake System light also appeared. Battery replacement did not fix issue. Errors usually appear within about 30-60 seconds of turning the car on, but errors occasionally go in and out intermittently. Lights come on with a distracting beep one-at-a-time, causing major distractions while driving and suddenly disabling any active cruise and/or LKAS features while driving in traffic. Dealer stated the windshield mounted LKAS camera needs to be replaced for $1592 + tax. Safety features should not be flaky, and customers should not bear the cost of repairing safety equipment such as this. This should be strongly considered for a recall.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while the vehicle was at a complete stop at the traffic light, the collision mitigation braking system (CMBS) warning light illuminated and a message indicating to shift to park(P) was displayed. The contact shifted to park and shifted back into drive(D); however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact stated that he turned off and restarted the vehicle and was able to drive to his destination. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

While driving at various speeds, my vehicle will intermittently brake without warning on its own. The brake warning symbol will flash on the instrument panel and the steering wheel shakes. The surprise and unexpected braking caused me alarm as well as my passengers who did not understand why the vehicle suddenly braked for no apparent reason. I have experienced this multiple times while driving. Most recently, we were exiting the freeway and moved into the exit lane. There was no car directly in front of me but the car suddenly braked scaring us all.
When the automatic start/stop feature turns the car off when the brake is fully depressed the Car will sometimes not restart as designed. Further, it is sometimes accompanied by the forward collision warning light coming on and shutting the car off.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently brake independently as the brake warning symbol would flash on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the steering wheel would shake during the failure. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where it remained in their possession. The dealer stated that the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

Continuously intermittent lose of all main dash board information to include speed, all advanced safety features, display goes totally black. Continuously intermittent lose of infotainment system. Includes radio, gps, backup camera and all other options.
While parking and approaching another car in a parking lot, the van automatic braking system randomly started blinking and the brakes automatically applied, pulsating and grinding loudly for several seconds for no reason. I believe my safety and my passengers safety was at risk. The problem was random and not reproduced since it happened. The vehicle was not inspected. No warning lamps or symptoms appeared prior to this occurring and have not occurred since. It was a scary experience, I assumed it was some kind of electronic glitch.
On several occasions our honda van has slammed on the brakes without any vehicle or obstacle present. The automatic braking system has worked properly when someone ahead brakes aggressively ... but the instances i'm talking about have occur without vehicles in our lane. 1 time it was coming around a turn and i almost lost control of the steering since i wasn't expecting a hard brake. I haven't gotten it inspected or looked at. the safety feature seems to work properly but then will sense something that isn't there.
MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN (BRAKE FAIL DURING DRIVING) WITH NEW 2020 HONDA ODYSSEY WITH 2618 MILES DRIVEN. BRAKE MADE LOUD SQUEAK NOISE RIGHT AFTER PURCHASE AND TOOK IT TO LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASED 4 TIMES. HONDA DEALERSHIP RESURFACED ROTOR 2 DIFFERENT TIMES. ABOUT 12-14 DAYS AGO, HONDA ODYSSEY BRAKE FAILED WHEN GOING DOWN AT SLIGHT GRADE. WHEN BRAKE PADDLE WAS APPLIED, ENTIRE VAN, INCLUDING STEERING WHEEL SHAKE AND VAN FAILED TO STOP. MY DRIVING HABIT OF LEAVING LARGE GAP BETWEEN VEHICLE SAVED MY LIFE. IT TOOK APPROXIMATELY 1/3 OR 0.33 MILE TO BRING CAR TO STOP. I SAVED MY LIFE ALONG WITH OTHER ON ROAD ON THIS INCIDENT. VAN IS PARKED IN GARAGE AND NOT BEING DRIVEN UNTIL HONDA NORTH AMERICA AND/OR NHTSA | NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION INSPECT THE VEHICLE.
