Forward collision, Adaptive cruise control and all enhanced safety features related to the camera and front of vehicle sensor stopped working. Vehicle warning lights and messages do light up for every start. Only option has been to have a $2,500 repair bill for a 6 year old vehicle to install a new camera system by the dealer. This a well known manufacturer issue among owners. Infotainment system is losing network connections and completely going black. The system is only available for brief stretches after restarting the vehicle and will go black while driving. There is a known recall for the coaxial cable (MOST connection loss) but apparently my vehicle is not part of this recall. Again this is a well known manufacturer issue with this year and model vehicle. Appears to be a wiring harness issue or improper wiring installation by manufactuer.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated that the warning lights on the instrument panel were illuminated and blinking. The lights had to be manually turned off. The message that the camera was obstructed was displayed. The maintenance past due, road departure litigation, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), and LKAS (Lane Keeping Assist System) were displayed. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V439000 (Back Over Prevention, Electrical System). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brakes and camera were faulty. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, who informed the contact about replacing the battery and performing a scan. The battery was replaced. The vehicle was taken to the dealer again, where it was diagnosed with a loss of communication with the cruise control, a driver support system, a dirty camera, and a radar antenna failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The service manager eventually declined to service the vehicle, and the contact was referred to another location. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

First issue was I was in need of a transmission while only having the car for 1.5 years. I reached out to Honda corporate and I was unable to receive any help with goodwill. Secondly I am now experiencing issues with my alarm going off suddenly, and frequently. The dash board lights up and flickers. Upon doing research I have found that 2019 Honda passport has had major issues with transmissions, keyless modules controls and electronic issues. In addition my radio keeps going off and it says connection is lost. This has also been a very known and common issues upon doing research on the 2019 Honda passport There’s different dates for events. I will be able to email my invoice for my transmission
On multiple occasions Lost connection on screen display and scre goes black preventing me from using back up camera.
The Auto Idle stop, turned off the car at a busy intersection, I was able to restart the car and took it in to the dealer. They installed a new battery, which has been working for about a year, then yesterday the AIS caused the car to stop again at a stop light and again today when I was waiting to make a left turn. Each time it has stopped it has taken longer to get the car to restart. This is a very scary situation when driving in traffic with my grandchild in the car. It seems unlikely that I need another new battery. The car only has 55,000 miles. I will be taking the car in again, but doing my research on this issue I find it is a very big problem with this model of car, so I wanted to add my issues to the count, so hopefully something will be done to solve the problem before there is a major crash.
Hello, I have put 3 batteries in this vehicle so far and it is a 2019 model year. In April, the car died while my wife was stopped at a light in the middle of town. I could not do anything...put it in gear..nothing...could not even open the door locks. I had to crawl into the back of the vehicle over the seats to get to the booster cable in very rear of the car. I was able to boost the battery and get it started after watching 100's of cars drive directly by me and around me while the car was stuck. It was a little dangerous. An automotive shop replaced the battery. the manufacture date on the battery is 2/25. My wife went the start the vehicle today...6-19-25 and the battery was dead again. There is something wrong here! I looked at the website for recalls and the only thing that comes up is the fuel pump recall which I tried to schedule several months ago and they did not have the part. Please make Honda expand this recall and make them responsible for this problem until we are sure it is fixed. This really should be covered at no cost. thank you! [XXX] Start/Stop system failed when stopped in Starbucks drive thru. Unable to restart, or move vehicle. Honda Passport had to be towed. Problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. Honda dealership deep charged battery and battery tested good? I was charged a Diagnostic fee for Starting & Charging Systems & Battery. Test name was GR8 diagnostic test by Honda. Vehicle was inspected by local Honda dealer. Diagnosed parasitic drain on battery? A new battery had been purchased 9/16/2024 @ a Honda dealership in Va. New battery is just 6 months old. Never had a problem with the new battery or Start/Stop system until [XXX] when failure occurred. There was never a warning lamp, message, or other symptoms prior to the failure. Original Start/Stop recall repair done 5/2/2023 at Honda dealership. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My Auto Start/Stop repeatedly fails to start after engaging during a traffic stop (stop sign, red light, etc.). The engine cuts off and will not start again, causing safety issues as the car is idle and “stalled” when traffic begins moving. Things an ongoing problem that I have reported to the dealer several times. The below questions ask for dates and mileage of incident, but this has been an ongoing incident for several thousand miles. I have completed the info using approximate dates and mileage of first of many occurrences.
Description: I have a concern that I will follow-up with a letter via USPS. Imagine driving your 2019 Honda Passport on an Interstate, Speed Limit is set at 70; your speed is 75; you're in the middle of the three lanes of travel; and your vehicle suddenly decelerates and every warning the vehicle is equipped with start giving alerts in rapid succession. This is what happened to me on [XXX] at approximately [XXX]. What is concerning is that this exact same thing happened April 2023 and I was told it was the Idle Control Sensor. The dealership that sold me the vehicle was gracious enough to let me bring it to them for repair, without charging the full cost of the part but, labor cost I incurred. When a consumer purchases a vehicle, the second most expensive purchase in one's lifetime, it is implied that outside of normal and routine maintenance, the car has been assessed and inspected for drivability. Being that this is the second occurrence, I am questioning if this vehicle was thoroughly inspected for this issue? I had my vehicle towed to the Greensboro Honda Dealership, 3633 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro NC 27407. Although my faith and loyalty to the Honda brand has diminished, the customer service provided by Ms. Karen was comforting and reassuring. She understood my concerns and was phenomenal in letting me know what to expect. Surprising for a weekend as, most employees are not wanting to work. The reason for this email is two fold, notification of the issue and hoping that Honda will take accountability financially and resolve whatever "root" issue(s) that could be cause. Thank you and if my life has any significance to you, I hope to hear from you regarding this serious concern. Traveling up a hill of 5-degree incline. 20 MPH speed limit. Came to complete stop, pushed reverse button. Back over prevention camera did not activate. Did not depress gas pedal. Vehicle rolled backward 35 feet before coming to rest partially in traffic and partially in private driveway. Instrument panel indicated vehicle P for park throughout the entire event. After coming to rest: (partially in traffic) Vehicle would not shift out of park. Error messages on Instrument Panel stated: "Stop Driving When Safe. Transmission Problem. See Manual." Check Engine was not illuminated. Turned off car and back on. Same error message was still present. Gear selector buttons would not respond and vehicle remained in Park, partially stuck in traffic. Repeatedly attempted to get vehicle to shift out of park. Eventually the Battery Positive Terminal was removed and reapplied and tightened Vehicle started, error message no longer present. Vehicle shifted out of Park into Reverse. Back Over Prevention Camera activated at this time.
Rear camera is malfunctioning. The view is blurry and frequently distorts to a green saturation removing visibility to the rear of the vehicle. This is a major safety hazard as the visibility is unpredictable and is obstructs the critical view behind the vehicle. Previously there was no issue. The issue only started occurring after a recall replacement was performed in December ‘23 for a similar issue. Previous recall info: RECALL 23-047 FAKRA CABLE INSPECTION Cause: FAKRA CONNECTORS UPDATE Correction: FAKRA CONNECTORS UPDATE OP CODE # 0101T0 1.70 - The replacement from recall or camera is faulty and needs replacement. Honda is stating they will not take action without a diagnosis which they are stating will cost $200 to the consumer. Please help protect the consumer here as it appears Honda is well aware of the issue persisting beyond the previous recall and purposefully not taking action.
When engaging the accelerator after auto-stop the entire vehicle stalled. Nothing was displayed on the dash or media console, the vehicle cut off, no steering, and no acceleration. When attempting to restart the vehicle it failed multiple attempts until about 45-60 seconds later. Thankfully this occurred at a redlight, but it was a single lane and other drivers behind me were not pleased. This has happened twice now.
The rear view camera is all red and blurry..
Car will at times not start and require to be jump started. Battery has been replaced and the issue persist. The car will randomly say collision warning when no cars are on the road
The idle stop start stalled the suv at intersection while waiting at light. This has happened multiple times already over the last couple of months. The latest took several repeat attempts to get it started again
The vehicle was unable to restart after the auto idle stop engaged at a stoplight, shutting the engine off. Upon release of the brake, the engine did not restart and the car was left stranded for several hours in the middle of a large intersection putting the driver at risk. The car was unable to be restarted and stranded for over two hours until police were able to clear a safe path and have the car towed to the nearest service center. There were no warning indicators or service lights prior to this occurrence. The authorized Honda service center found that the battery was drained and the auto idle stop had engaged while the car battery was low, leaving the car stranded and unable to be restarted.
Since I purchased this car in 2020, I have regularly experienced my car stalling out because of the auto idle function. The car shuts off when I brake and then does not turn back on, leaving me stranded in traffic until I can manually shut off my car and turn it back on. This is a major safety hazard that Honda has yet to properly address. Honda had a recall to "fix" this, which was just a software update. This was conducted 5/12/2023 on my car. Unfortunately, today (5/20/2023) my car stalled out again at a traffic light due to the auto idle function. Honda needs to address this issue, and if they cannot, then they need to provide those with defective models a path to upgrade their car.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the fuel saving feature activated; however, the vehicle would not restart after releasing the brake pedal. The contact manually restarted the vehicle and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 32,400.
Mileage: 32,400
This has been happening from the beginning of ownership. There was a recent recall but it DID NOT fix the problem. I come to a stop, and then start to go and my car stalls out for a second and then restart. Every time I took it in to the service center, they said they can't recreate it and there's nothing wrong. As it stalls, the "collision mitigation system" warning light comes on. I have almost been rear-ended many times and it's really scary. You can see all the complaints online for this same problem but Honda is not acknowledging the problem. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. The contact stated that Honda told them to get a video of the failure happening but the failure occurs unexpectantly and while driving.
On 01/24/2023 with IdleStop engaged car stalled on busy intersection during rush hour and couldn't be restarted. Since Honda vehicles don't have a shift interlock anymore we couldn't move vehicle since it automatically went into "Park". Car is currently at the dealer who is unable to do repairs due to lack of ECU modules.
With auto stop/start disabled as this feature regularly fails, stopped to turn left and car shifted itself into neutral, could not be shifted into drive or restarted for a few minutes despite multiple attempts. If car had auto stop start feature engaged, this often happens, which has been reported, but this time it happened without that feature on. Luckily we were turning from a parking lot so did not hold up traffic or have risk of being hit.
Vehicle fails to start intermittently after short stops. Needed jump start after it goes into accessory mode. Battery and charging system are good (12.6/14.1 volts). Battery is new, was replaced 10/2022.
On several occasions engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the Auto Start/Stop function engaged. Car shifts itself into Neutral and cannot be restarted by pressing Start button. It required jump was required for the vehicle to restart once. Usual work around posted by Honda is to put car in Park and then attempt to press Start button. Crash was avoided once in heavy traffic.
At a stop light, the auto engine idle kicked in. When the light turned green, and I took my foot off the brake pedal, the engine did not stop. I put the car in park and tried to restart. It would not restart at all. I was there for at least 15 minutes trying to turn the car back on and off. It finally did start but caused lots of traffic and was dangerous for everyone. This should not be happening to a new car.
Several times, the car shuts off at stop lights or stop signs. It has a feature that is supposed to save gas and put it into low power mode. But sometimes, especially if I take my foot off the break and press on the gas too quickly, the car completely shuts off and goes into neutral. This is VERY dangerous. Once I was on a hill when this happened and the car began rolling down and I nearly hit another vehicle. I have seen hundreds of other such complaints on the Honda Pilot. This is it's cousin, the Honda Passport and likely has the same power failure. Honda needs to recall these immediately before someone gets hurt. (It may also be related to the distance calculator being incorrect on my car. It often says I have over 1,000 miles left on my single tank.) There is for sure something wrong.
The auto stop/start feature has on multiple occasions failed to restart once the foot is taken off of the brake. The Passport's engine will stall, and the vehicle goes into neutral. The engine is completely dead and will not immediately restart. This has happened multiple times in traffic and is a safety concern. I have had the Passport looked at by a Honda Dealership. They advise that there are no error codes and advised me to replace the battery, but could not guarantee that a new battery would eliminate the issue. I am concerned about my family driving this vehicle due to this issue.
With less than 1,000 miles this car had to go in multiple times for a radio electrical issue, floor harness, IP harness etc replaced. Now at 60,000 I’m getting transmission failure faults where my car will stall out and not engage. HUGE safety issue. Now I’m waiting 2 weeks to get into a dealership
When the auto engine idle is engaged (Which is the default setting), when you stop, the engine idle works as advertised, then after a few moments the car will totally shut off and place itself in neutral. After several failed attempts, the only way to restart it, is to press and hold the start button and holding the brake pedal. This cars maintenance has been completed on time and solely by the dealership. This is a very scary issue because it can cause serious harm to the passengers in the vehicle as well as other vehicles on the road. This will most definitely cause an accident. we were in stop and go traffic on the HIGHWAY in the fast lane and the whole car shut off and as traffic began to move, my car wouldn't go there was a moment of panic as I quickly tried to get the car to start back up it took a while to get it to restart. we were fortunate there was no collision for us with this incident but my young children are now very afraid to ride in the car because it might shut off again and we could get hurt.
I was in a stop and go situation at a stop light when I decided to turn the auto stop/start off. The car froze up on me in the middle of traffic. It turned off, could not turn it back on, the brakes locked up and a lot of lights turned on my dash. After a couple of minutes I was able to turn the car back on.
When the auto engine idle is engaged (Which is the default setting), when you stop, the engine idle works as advertised, then after a few moments the car will totally shut off and place itself in neutral. After several failed attempts, the only way to restart it, is to place the keyfob against the start button hold it there while pressing the start button and holding the brake pedal. This cars maintenance has been completed on time and solely by the purchasing dealership. A battery replacement finally in december of '21 put the problem at bay for approximately 8 months and here we go again. Honda is also not being honest with the dealerships, this is a known issue just check the blogs. The dealer is the one that went onto google and started researching the issue. As for an accident, it's only a matter of time before this causes an accident, most likely someone getting rearended!
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated the Auto START/STOP feature intermittently failed to operate as needed without warning. The contact stated that upon release of the brake pedal, the vehicle stalled, causing the contact to manually restart the vehicle. One night, this Auto START/STOP failure led to the contact being stuck in rush hour traffic when the vehicle ultimately would not turn back on. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact had the battery replaced; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 10,000.

Problem with the Auto Start/Stop. Auto Start/Stop caused the car to completely shut off at a stoplight and the car would not restart. I tried applying the break and re-starting the car using the Start button, but the car did not respond. The car was completely inoperable for at least 15 minutes and left us stranded at a busy intersection. The auto start/stop will often shut down the car completely at stops and it will not restart automatically. There were no warnings prior to shut down. I've only had this car a few months and it has happened twice in two months. I am forced to turn the auto start/stop feature off every time I get in the car now.
my car has an automatic stop start. I came to a full stop at a red light and the engine automatically turned off. The light turned green and i depressed the gas pedal and nothing happened, in other words the engine did not turn on. within a few minutes, I could turn the engine back on although sitting stalled at a light on a high speed expressway was dangerous.
Auto Engine Idle has an inconsistent issue with not restarting. When at a full stop, the engine goes to neutral and does not restart. This has left me temporarily stranded while I attempt a full restart. The dealer claims to not being able to duplicate the issue. The battery has consistently tested fine. I now manually shut off this option before driving.
The vehicle stalls after the auto-shutoff/idle is engaged. As I lift my foot off the break pedal to disengage it, the car shuts off and indicates that it has been placed in Park mode. I then have to turn the vehicle back on. It can take up to 25-30 seconds. I only ever have issues restarting the vehicle after it stalls as a result of the auto-shutoff being engaged.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Passport. The contact stated while the vehicle was stationary in a parking lot, her husband stated that the vehicle lost motive and electrical power. The driver stated no warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to restart the vehicle within 30 minutes. The contact stated she also experienced the failure the following day while driving. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to diagnose the failure. The contact continued to experience the failure. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact called the local dealer and was referred to a second local dealer. The contact towed the vehicle to Jim Riehl's Friendly Honda (18900 Hall Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038, (586) 412-9600) where it was diagnosed with needing for the battery to be replaced. The contact replaced the battery. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,029.

3x in the last 6months my Passport has failed to start after the auto stop at idle has engaged. The dealership said the battery is fine and one technician just said “disable the feature “. Today when adaptive cruise control was engaged, the car increased in speed from the set 72 to over 80mph. I also emailed Honda corp and their response was to see a dealer and did not acknowledge if the auto stop/start issue was known for other vehicles.
I stopped at red-light and the auto stop idle was engaged. Once the light changed, and I removed my foot from the brake to disengage the auto idle, unexpectedly the gear just shifted to Neutral . I then had put it in park , and press the ignition start button . It took a couple times before restarting. I had to endure other drivers honking and yelling at me, because I was the 1st car at the stop light. This has happened at least 8-10 times in the past 4 months. After having my vehicle for 3 days, the dealer said they couldn't find the problem . Wih road rage what it is in these times, something like that could spark alot of frustration in other drivers. I have read blogs about other honda passport owners having the same issue. HONDA REALLY NEEDS TO FIND OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE!
Popping crackling noise from dashboard Screen went blank Sporadic occurrences when driving with radio On and Off Dealer says NO CODES Found?
Frequent shutdown of center display panel to a black screen with "MOST Network Failure" message posted. System repeatedly tries to reboot. Sometimes requires a restart to recover.
My Collision Mitigation Braking System activates when there is no reason to do so. I took it to my dealer and they said it is because there is dirt on the car logo that is in front of the radar so they cleaned it. It was not dirty in my opinion. When I dove it again with a very clean logo the system flashed BREAK again and shook the steering wheel. I know I can turn this “feature” off by pressing a button on the dash board but I have to do that every time I start the car - it malfunctions regularly. In addition to be inconvenient it is distracting and dangerous do deal with when driving if I forget to turn it off. If I loan my car to someone It is embarrassing and difficult to explain to them how to handle it.
On two separate occasions the vehicle has not started in extreme cold. First Occasion: February 7, 2021, attempted to remote start the vehicle, but the vehicle would not start. Attempted to start the vehicle from inside, but would not start. Called AAA roadside assistance to have the vehicle jump started and the vehicle still would not start. Second Occasion: Attempted to start the vehicle and it would not start. Attempted to use a roadside battery pack to jump the vehicle, but would not start. Hooked the battery up to a truck for 45 minutes, while the truck was running, and attempted to start the vehicle several times, but the vehicle never started. Called Honda roadside assistance and was informed that we would need to wait up to two hours for a tow truck. We waited 5 hours before the tow truck arrived. While waiting I called Dahl Honda of Onalaska for assistance. I purchased a new battery from them. They sent a driver out to deliver it to the parking lot we were stranded in. I installed the new batter but the vehicle still would not start. When the tow truck arrived, we tried to jump the new battery with the Honda employee present, but the vehicle still would not start. The tow truck driver delivered the disabled vehicle to Dahl Honda in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Each time dealership could not diagnose the problem that caused the vehicle to not start. Was told that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. The two times the issue has occurred, the outside temperatures were below zero, thus putting my family (two very young children) in danger. The vehicle was inspected by Dahl Honda in LaCrosse, WI and Schlossmann Honda in Milwaukee. No warning lamps, check engine lights, etc.
EVERYTIME I START MY CAR IT SAYS MY HOOD IS OPEN BUT IT IS NOT, I HAVE TO GET OUT AND OPEN AND CLOSE MY HOOD. MY FANS WON'T RUN AND AC OR HEAT WON'T WORK IF THIS ERROR OCCURS.

NOTED THAT THE DASHBOARD BLANKED OUT MOMENTARILY WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THE SPEEDOMETER CAME BACK, FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE REMAINING DASHBOARD ITEMS. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE (RECALL) HAD BEEN COMPLETED 3 WEEKS PREVIOUSLY AND APPROXIMATELY 1200 MILES PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. DID NOT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE BEFORE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR RECHECK BUT THEY DID NOT NOTE ANY SOFTWARE ERROR CODES.

I WENT TO THE STORE AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING FINE. I NOTICED A CRACKLING SOUND WHILE TALKING ON BLUETOOTH. PARKED THE VEHICLE TO GO SHOPPING. ONCE I RETURNED THE INFOTAINMENT/INSTRUMENT CLUSTER COMPLETELY WENT DARK. INFOTAINMENT SCREEN NEVER POWERED ON. WAS UNABLE TO TURN SCREEN ON. TURNED VEHICLE ON AND OFF WITH NO SUCCESS. DROVE HOME WITH EVERYTHING COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM STARTED WORKING THE FOLLOWING DAY.
Mileage: 6,964
WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION I'VE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM BRAKING THE VEHICLE WHEN A VEHICLE IS COMING TOWARD ME IN THE OPPOSITE LANE (ONCOMING TRAFFIC). THIS OCCURS WHILE I'M DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I'VE TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE ISSUE WAS NOT REPLICATED. IT DOES OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. I'VE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM TOO. THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FREEZES AND BECOMES INOPERABLE. IT DOES NOT CORRECT UNTIL VEHICLE IS PARKED, TURNED OFF, DRIVER DOOR OPENED, THEN VEHICLE RESTARTED. LASTLY, THE AUTO IDLE FEATURES CONSISTENTLY DOES NOT ENGAGE. I HAVE THE SYSTEM RANDOMLY ENGAGE WHEN I'M PARKING MY VEHICLE IN THE GARAGE. AGAIN, ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER PROVIDING SERVICE AND REMAIN UNRESOLVED SINCE THEY CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED AT SERVICE APPOINTMENT.
Mileage: 2,600
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILS, SCREEN GOES BLANK, BACKUP CAMERA AND SPEEDOMETER GOES BLANK. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES, DEALER SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED TWO WEEKS AGO BUT PROBLEMS PERSIST.
WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION THE SPEAKERS MAKE A LOUD CRACKLING AND POPPING NOISE. THE CAR AUDIO FAILS WITH AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAYS "RADIO UNAVAILABLE" OR "NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS LOST". THIS CAUSES ALL AUDIO TO QUIT WORKING, ALONG WITH THE BACK UP CAMERA, NAVIGATION AND BLUETOOTH. IN ADDITION, THE SPEEDOMETER FAILS AND GOES COMPLETELY BLANK WHILE DRIVING. SOMETIMES THE SYSTEM REBOOTS ITSELF AFTER STAYING DEAD FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TWICE. THEY TELL ME THEY SUBMIT VIDEOS TO THE TECH LINE OF THE PROBLEM OCCURING, BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION FOR A FIX. PROBLEM STARTED WHEN VEHICLE HAD APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES. NOW VEHICLE HAS 32,000 MILES AND THE ISSUE HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE. THESE ISSUES OCCUR EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN, WHICH IS MULTIPLE TIMES DAILY.
Mileage: 10,000
VEHICLE WILL INTERMITTENTLY ACTIVATE COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM WITH NO TRAFFIC NOR OBJECTS NEARBY, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A NEAR STOP, OR FULL STOP. SPEED, WEATHER, AND DRIVING CONDITIONS VARY DURING FALSE ACTIVATION, BUT IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED, NEARLY CAUSING A HIGH-SPEED REAR-END ACCIDENT. VEHICLE HAS TWICE BEEN TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER AND SINCE THEY CLAIM THAT IT CANNOT BE EASILY RECREATED DUE TO INTERMITTENT CONDITION, THEN THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE & REPAIR.
Mileage: 500
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILS, SOMETIMES REBOOTS. CRACKING AND POPPING PRECEDE IT USUALLY - SOUNDS AS IF IT'S COMING FROM SPEAKERS. THEN COMPLETE INFOTAINMENT LCD FAILS - GOES BLACK. THIS LEAVES THE *BACKUP CAMERA* NON-FUNCTIONAL. *TR
Mileage: 6,000
THE HONDA SENSING SYSTEM ALMOST CONSTANTLY THINKS THERE IS A VEHICLE COMING AT YOU WHEN THERE ISN'T ONE COMING AT YOU. IT WILL SHAKE THE STEERING WHEEL AND FLASH THE ORANGE BRAKE WARNING AT YOU. THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM ALSO STOPS WORKING ALMOST EVERY DRIVE AS WELL AND SAYS THERE IS NO INPUT FOR AUDIO. *TR
Mileage: 5,000
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS CAUSING BACKUP CAMERA AND NAVIGATION SYSTEMS TO NOT FUNCTION AND SENDS LOUD CRACKLING NOISES THROUGH SPEAKERS. ALSO CAUSES INSTRUMENT PANEL TO FAIL FOR MINUTES AT A TIME. CONNECTIONS TO INFOTAINMENT AND DASHBOARD DISPLAYS FAIL WHILE IN MOTION AFTER MINOR BUMPS IN ROAD.
Mileage: 8,000
COMPUTER SHUTS DOWN ON THE AUDIO SYSTEM. HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR REPAIR SOMETHING IS WRONG IN THE WIRING. WHILE DRIVING THESE LOUD NOISES COME FROM THE DASH THEN AFTER AWHILE IT SAYS AUDIO OFF. THEN NETWORK SHUTDOWN. *TR
Mileage: 9,000
MY COMPLAINT CONCERNS THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. THE SOUND OUTPUT WILL CRACKLE, SKIP OUT OR SHUT DOWN ALTOGETHER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IT AFFECTS ALL OUTPUTS INCLUDING FM, SATELLITE, CARPLAY AND THE HANDS FREE. RESTARTING THE AUDIO SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. WHEN FEASIBLE, SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE WILL NOT RESET THE SYSTEM UNTIL THE DRIVER DOOR IS OPENED. THIS MAY OR MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THE MOST SEVERE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER INSTRUMENT PANEL GOES BLACK WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GOING BLACK HAS ALWAYS OCCURRED WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AT GREATER THAN 65MPH. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE ALWAYS HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. OCCASIONALLY IT MAY START CRACKLING AFTER HITTING A BUMP. OTHER TIMES, THERE IS NO IDENTIFIED CAUSE FOR THE DYSFUNCTION. THE ATTACHED PICTURES SHOW SOME OF THE ERROR CODES AND MESSAGES SEEN

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY PASSPORT, I SMELLED WHAT REMINDED ME OF ELECTRICAL WIRES SIZZLING IT WAS COMING FROM THE HONDA DISPLAY AUDIO UNIT .THE APPLE PLAY STOP WORKING AND I HAD NO AUDIO SOUND FROM THE RADIO OR OTHER APP. THE UNIT WAS UNRESPONSIVE AND REMAIN ON WITH THE ENGINE CUT OFF. THE DISPLAY WHILE NOT WORKING REMAIN ON FOR THREE DAY BEFORE TURNING OFF. THE UNIT RANDOMLY CONTINUE TO GO OUT AFTER THE SMELL OF BURNING WIRE. AND ERROR CODE BEGIN TO DISPLAY: 6382 APPEARED. THIS PROBLEM IS STILL OCCUR AND I HAD TO REPLACE MY I PHONE BECAUSE THE INSIDE OF THE PHONE WAS BURN. I DO WANT TO HAVE THE PASSPORT CAUSE HARM TO SOMEONE BEFORE CHECK THIS SAFE ISSUE OUT.
Mileage: 15,350
WHEN USING THE AUDIO SYSTEM (APPLEAIRPLAY, BLUETOOTH, SIRIUS OR FM RADIO), THE SPEAKERS AT SOME POINT WILL BEGIN CRACKLING AND MAKING POPPING NOISES, SIMILAR TO STATIC NOISES, WHICH CAUSES THE MUSIC TO INTERRUPT AND CUT OUT. EVEN WHEN YOU TURN THE AUDIO OFF, THE SPEAKERS CONTINUE TO MAKE THE CRACKLE AND POP SOUNDS. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND OPEN THE DOOR TO COMPLETELY CUT OFF THE AUDIO. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND IS A COMPLETE DISTRACTION WHILE DRIVING. THE DISPLAY SCREEN ALSO CUTS IN AND OUT WHILE IN USE USING THE BACKUP CAMERA, MUSIC OR GOOGLE MAPS, ETC. AS WELL. THE CAR CAN BE IN MOTION OR PARKED, IT HAPPENS. THIS STARTED IN FEB 2020, 1 MONTH AFTER LEASING THE CAR AND APPROX 1000 MILES.

WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND DRIVING, THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILS. THE FIRST EVENT IN THE SEQUENCE IS THAT THE AUDIO FROM ANY SOURCE (AM, FM, SATELLITE, IPHONE) WILL START TO CRACKLE AND INTERMITTENTLY CUT OUT. THEN THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN IN THE CENTER OF DASHBOARD WILL GO DARK AND ALL SOUND WILL STOP. ADDITIONAL EVENTS INCLUDE THE DRIVER SCREEN (SPEEDOMETER, ETC.) BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL GOING DARK. SOMETIMES THE MESSAGES 'NO AUDIO SOURCE' OR 'NETWORK CONNECTION LOST' ARE DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN. OCCASIONALLY THE SYSTEM WILL TRY AND REBOOT AFTER 10-15 MINUTES, WITH THE SCREENS TURNING ON AGAIN FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (5-10 SECONDS) BEFORE GOING DARK AGAIN. THE ONLY WAY TO RECOVER TEMPORARILY IS TO PARK, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR (SHUTS OFF RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER) AND THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS SYSTEM FAILURE HAPPENS WITH AND WITHOUT AN IPHONE CONNECTED VIA GENUINE APPLE USB CABLE. NONE OF THE FOLLOWING HAVE RESOLVED THE PROBLEM: RESETTING THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM TO FACTORY SETTINGS; DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLE UNDER THE HOOD; AND, TEMPORARILY REMOVING THE INFOTAINMENT POWER FUSE UNDER THE HOOD. CHECKING THE SYSTEM SETTINGS VIA THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM APPLICATION INDICATES THAT THE SYSTEM IS UP TO DATE AND NO UPDATES ARE AVAILABLE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE HONDA DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THEY NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE, AND SUGGESTED THAT I FILM THE ISSUE WHEN IT OCCURS!

I COPIED THIS FROM SOMEONE POSTING, SINCE IT IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING AND MORE. 'THE ENGINE WILL JUST REV HIGHER AND HIGHER OVER 4K REVS. I CANNOT EVEN DRIVE THE 25-MILE SPEED LIMIT WHEN THIS OCCURS. I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SETTINGS ARE IN THE STANDARD DRIVE MODE DURING THESE EVENTS. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT THE AUTO HIGH BEAM FEATURE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.' THE REMOTE CONTROL CONNECT DOESN'T WORK. SIDE SENSORS WORK INTERMITENTLY. IT ACCELERATES WHEN RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE SUV DOESN'T PICK UP SPEED. IT MAKES LOUD ACCELERATING NOISE AND SLOWS DOWN INSTEAD OF GOING FASTER. HEATER MAKES PITCHING NOISE. THESE HAPPENED CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. IT'S NOT JUST ONE TIME OCCURANCE. MY CAR HAS ONLY 3100 MILES
Mileage: 45
WHILE DRIVING OVER SLIGHTLY ROUGH ROADS, THE RADIO SPEAKERS WILL MAKE A CRACKLING AND POPPING NOISE. SOMETIMES TO THE POINT OF COMPLETE MALFUNCTION WHERE THE SOUND WILL GO OFF COMPLETELY AND SHOW A MESSAGE OF NO AUDIO INPUT. THE ONLY WAY TO RESET THE AUDIO IS TO STOP THE VEHICLE, SHUT OFF THE IGNITION, AND OPEN THE DRIVERS DOOR TO END THE RETAINED ACCESSORY POWER FEATURE, THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE WHICH REBOOTS THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHO SAYS THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS OCCURS WHILE USING ANY AUDIO INPUT SOURCES, INCLUDING THE MAPS FEATURE IN APPLE CARPLAY. IT'S VERY DISTRACTING AND THEREFORE A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
Mileage: 10,000
THE ENTIRE AUDIO/ELECTRICAL GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING. CRACKLING, POPPING SOUNDS, SOUND LIKE SMALL PEBBLES HITTING WINDSHIELD, OR ELECTRICAL SHORTS, AND THEN THE ENTIRE CONSOLE GOES OUT. BACK UP CAMERA, ALL AUDIO, NAVIGATION, SCREEN FADES IN AND OUT FEW TIMES, WITH THE SMALL CRACKLE SOUNDS, THEN USUALLY A LOUD CRACK, AND EVERYTHING GOES DARK. IF YOU PULL OVER, SHUT OFF CAR, AND RESTART, SOMETIMES IT COMES BACK. IF YOU ARE DRIVING, IT MAYBE RESTARTS IN 10-15 MINUTES, BUT WILL CONTINUE WITH SHORTING OUT AGAIN. BRAND NEW VEHICLE, BOUGHT AT THE END OF OCTOBER 2019. HONDA DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE FIX, OR ANY CONNECTIONS TO WHY SOME VEHICLES HAVE THIS PROBLEM, AND OTHERS DO NOT. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO THE HONDA CORPORATION, WITH LITTLE RESPONSE BACK FROM THEM. OUR GARAGE IS DOING THE BEST THEY CAN, FOLLOWING BULLETINS ON UPDATES FOR WHAT OR HOW TO ATTEMPT REPAIR FROM HONDA. OUR NEW CAR HAS BEEN IN GARAGE 2 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS,NOVEMBER 2019, AND FEBRUARY 2020, FOR DAYS AT A TIME, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. HONDA KNEW THIS WAS A PROBLEM, AND STILL SOLD VEHICLES.
Mileage: 920
THE RADIO DISPLAYS AN ERROR MESSAGE OF 'NETWORK COMMUNICATION LOST' BEFORE THE SCREEN BLACKS OUT. THIS HAPPENS OVER AND OVER EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE SCREEN FOR THE ODOMETER BLACKS OUT AND I CANNOT SEE THE TRAVELING SPEED OF MY VEHICLE. I CANNOT USE THE FEDERALLY MANDATED BACKUP CAMERA AS WELL AS THE PARKING SENSORS. I CANNOT SEE THE PARKING SENSORS. THE VEHICLE ALSO SHOWS 'BRAKE' CONTINUALLY WHEN DRIVING AS ANOTHER CAR APPROACHES FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THERE IS NO NEED TO BRAKE AT THESE TIMES. THIS OCCURS VERY FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THE LAST ITEM IS THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT WANT TO SHIFT WHILE TRAVELING DOWNHILL ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME WHEN I LEAVE MY HOUSE. THE ENGINE WILL JUST REV HIGHER AND HIGHER OVER 4K REVS. I CANNOT EVEN DRIVE THE 25-MILE SPEED LIMIT WHEN THIS OCCURS. I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SETTINGS ARE IN THE STANDARD DRIVE MODE DURING THESE EVENTS. I ALSO INFORMED THEM THAT THE AUTO HIGH BEAM FEATURE DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE IS APPROACHING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION MANY TIMES IT DOES NOT TURN OFF AND I BLIND THE ONCOMING DRIVER. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.
Mileage: 2,800
WHILE DRIVING A CRACKLE IS EMITTED FROM THE FRONT SPEAKERS. THE TUNER WILL BLANK OUT AND DISPLAY "CHECK TUNER", THEN THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT POD GOES DARK. NO SPEEDOMETER, NO OTHER INSTRUMENT INFORMATION. APPEARS TO BE DOING A REBOOT , WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO TURNING CORNERS OR HITTING SMALL BUMPS IN THE ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT HAPPENS AT ANYTIME, REGARDLESS OF SPEED YOU ARE TRAVELLING. SUDDENLY ENTIRE DASHBOARD IS BLACK. CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 6,000 MILES ON IT, BUT PROBLEM BEGAN EARLIER AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE.
Mileage: 6,000
THE INFOTAINMENT CENTER WILL DISPLAY A CONNECTION ERROR AND THEN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE SCREEN BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL WILL ALSO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE PROBLEMS SEEM TO OCCUR WHEN HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD SMALL OR LARGE. ALSO WHEN THIS OCCURS THE SPEAKERS WILL CRACKLE AND POP IF ANY AUDIO WAS PLAYING WHEN THE ISSUE STARTED. THE SPEAKERS OCCASIONALLY WILL CRACKLE AND POP EVEN IF THERE WAS NO AUDIO PRIOR TO THE ISSUE OCCURRING.

THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM FAILS WHILE USING AIRPLAY, CAUSING NAVIGATION, AUDIO, BLUETOOTH FAILURE AND THE REAR CAMERA GOES OUT AS WELL. WHEN TRYING TO REBOOT BY TURNING OFF THE CAR, THE ENGINE STAYS OFF BUT THE INFO SYSTEM RUNS DARKLY IN THE BACKGROUND. BATTERY DIED OVERNIGHT. BATTERY RECONNECT SEEMED TO WORK BUT BEING THAT THIS HAPPENED TWICE AND I GOT LOST ONCE AS A RESULT, I AVOID PLUGGING IN MY PHONE. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS, IT'S ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND NO ONE IS STEPPING UP. WHAT ABOUT THE LEMON LAW? WHERE'S OUR PROTECTION?

INFOTAINMENT DISPLAYED 'NETWORK CONNECTION LOST.' SYSTEM AND DASHBOARD DIGITAL CONSOLE REBOOTED WHILE DRIVING. THIS INCLUDES SPEEDOMETER, NAVIGATION, AND FUEL GAUGE.

STARTING AT ABOUT 500 MILES, A CRACKLING NOISE WOULD PROPAGATE THROUGH THE SPEAKERS AND THE INFOTAINMENT AND REARVIEW CAMERA WOULD SHUT OFF. TOOK THE CAR FOR SERVICE AND THE FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR A FEW HUNDRED MILES WHEN IT CAME BACK MUCH MORE SEVERE. STEPPING ON THE GAS, OR BUMPS WOULD PRODUCE ERRATIC ISSUES, NOT ONLY FREEZING THE INFOTAINMENT ALONG WITH INTENSE CRACKLING NOISES, BUT ALSO, BRAKING ON ITS OWN. TOOK THE CAR TO BACK FOR SERVICE AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE BRAKING ON ITS OWN ISSUE. NOT UNSURPRISING BECAUSE THE PATTERN OF PROBLEMS IS RANDOM. SERVICE AT LEAST ADMITTED THE INFOTAINMENT ISSUES AND I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT HONDA IS WORKING ON A REPAIR INVOLVING REPLACEMENT OF THE HARNESS. THEY WANTED TO REPLACE THE INFOTAINMENT UNIT BUT THE PART WOULD NOT BE IN STOCK FOR ALMOST 4 WEEKS. THE PROBLEMS HAVE ONLY WORSENED SINCE AND NOW BLACKING OUT OF THE SPEEDOMETER IS THE LATEST SAFETY ISSUE. CALLED HONDA AND ASKED TO HAVE THE CAR REPLACED, ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I AM A LIAR AND THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED ONCE YET. THE HONDA REPRESENTATIVE PROVIDED THE MOST DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED DENYING THE ISSUES AND TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE AND BASICALLY IMPLYING THAT THE INFOTAINMENT PROBLEM ALMOST DOES NOT EXIST. HE LIED TELLING ME THAT HONDA IS NOT WORKING ON ANY PERMANENT FIX, AS ACCORDING TO HIM THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM. DEALER AND SERVICE EMPLOYEES ALL KNOW THE PROBLEM, BUT HONDA BELIEVES THAT ITS CUSTOMERS ARE IDIOTS WITH ZERO INTELLIGENCE. MADE ME REALIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF USING A LAWYER AND PARTICIPATING IN CLASS ACTIONS, AS THE ONLY WAY HONDA WILL RESPOND TO THE "ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM" IS THROUGH LEGAL ACTION. I ALSO HOPE NHTSA WILL ACT QUICKLY ON THIS VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AND FORCE A SOLUTION.

SINCE I HAVE LEASED THE VEHICLE, THE COLLISION MITIGATION BREAKING SYSTEM IS COMING ON WHEN NOT NEEDED, AT TIMES DURING HIGHWAY SPEEDS.. I HAVE BEEN NEARLY REAR-ENDED THREE TIMES, THE LATEST CAUSING THE MAN BEHIND ME TO ALMOST GO OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH (THANKFULLY HE WAS ABLE TO JUST BARELY AVOID THIS) AND IT IS HAPPENING WHEN MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING THE CAR AS WELL. IT IS VERY STARTLING AND WORRISOME. THE CAR ACTUALLY NOSEDIVES AND COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP AT TIMES'OTHER TIMES IT BREAKS SUDDENLY AND THEN RELEASES OR I HAVE TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN ON THE GAS WHILE TRYING TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW TIMES ALREADY AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT AS IT CANNOT BE REPLICATED WHEN THEY HAVE HAD IT (WEEKS CAN GO BY IN BETWEEN WHEN IT HAPPENS) AND I HAVE EXPRESSED I DO NOT WANT THEM CONSTANTLY DRIVING MY VEHICLE TRYING TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE WHEN I WAS TOLD EXPLICITLY THAT IF THIS HAPPENS AND THEY'RE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, MY INSURANCE IS RESPONSIBLE. I HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA MOTOR AMERICA WHERE A CASE HAS BEEN OPENED AND CLOSED VERY QUICKLY. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT IT IS PRETTY MUCH NOT THEIR PROBLEM, I AM ON MY OWN UNLESS I AM ABLE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN IN FRONT OF AN ADVISOR, OR HAVE AN ADVISOR DRIVE MY CAR FREQUENTLY (LIKE USING IT TO GO TO AND FROM WORK, ETC. BEING THEY DO NOT DRIVE IT FAR WHEN TRYING TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE) AND THEY DO NOT HOLD ANY LIABILITY IF THIS ISSUE IS TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHERE MYSELF OR OTHER DRIVERS ON THE WORK ARE INJURED IN ANY CAPACITY. I ALSO HAVE BEEN GETTING WARNING LIGHTS AT TIMES THAT THE SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING AND MY AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMS HAVE BEGUN TO NOT WORK PROPERLY AS WELL. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE ONLY FIX IS TO 'IF I WERE YOU I WOULD JUST SHUT IT OFF EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR'. I WANT IT TO WORK PROPERLY BEING IT WAS PART OF THE REASON I LEASED THE VEHICLE AS IT'S STANDARD EQUIPMENT,

AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN I-65 IN KENTUCKY (DRIVING BACK HOME TO MICHIGAN), THE VEHICLE LOST FUNCTIONS / COMMUNICATIONS OF THE INFOTAIMENT SYSTEM, WE WERE RELYING ON THE GPS SYSTEM VIA "APPLE PLAY" TO DETERMINE WHAT EXIT TO TAKE. FROM PRIOR EXPERINCE WITH THIS "ISSUE", I KNEW WE NEEDED TO PULL THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, THEN TURN BACK ON, AND THATS WHAT WE DID. IT WORKED, BUT WAS NOT SAFE ON THAT BUSY HIGHWAY.

DRIVING MY CAR ON BELT PARKWAY, I CONNECTED MY PHONE TO USE ANDROID AUTO, THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING, HEAD UNIT SAID "AUDIO IS OFF" AND ALSO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT ANSWERING TO MY COMMANDS. IN THE SAME DRIVE I ALMOST CRUSH WITH A VEHICLE COMING FROM MY RIGHT SIDE BECAUSE THE ALERT SYSTEM DIDN'T LIGHT ON TO WARN ME. AFTER FEW MORE MILES I COULD PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE CAR, OPENED THE DOOR, CLOSE THE DOOR, TURN ON THE ENGINE , CONNECT MY PHONE AND SAME PROBLEM CAME OUT. I HAVE ONLY 465 MILES WITH MY CAR AND I ALREADY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES REGARDING THIS PROBLEMS. I ALSO ASK THE DEALERSHIP TO GIVE ME MY OLD CAR BACK BUT THEY REFUSED. WHAT SHOULD I DO. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS CAR AND I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HONDA PASSPORT. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, THE BLUETOOTH SEIZED AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING. ALSO, THE CLOCK AND RADIO DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY SET TO THE CONTACT'S CURRENT LOCATION. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE SYSTEM RESTARTED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH KAY HONDA (732-982-2732, LOCATED AT 200 NJ-36, EATONTOWN, NJ 07724), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER UPDATE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 09932490 AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER; HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,000.

WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION AND RUNNING OVER SLIGHTLY BUMPY SURFACE I WILL HEAR STATIC IN THE SPEAKERS AFTER HITTING A FEW MORE BUMPS THE AUDIO WILL SHUT OFF. THEN THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WITH EITHER SAY 'FM RADIO UNAVAILABLE' OR 'NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS LOST' FOLLOWING THIS THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WILL EITHER REBOOT OR STAY OFF UNTIL THE CAR IS RESTARTED. IN SOME CASES WHEN THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN WENT OFF THE DRIVER SCREEN THAT DISPLAYS SPEED, RPM AND OTHER SAFETY WARNING MESSAGE SHUTS OFF AND REBOOTS WHILE DRIVING IN MOTION WHICH IS VERY DISTRACTING AND UNSAFE. I HAVE HAD MY 2019 PASSPORT AT THE DEALER FOUR TIMES WHERE THEY HAVE CHECKED CONNECTIONS, REPLACED WIRING HARNESS AND EVEN REPLACED THE DRIVER SCREEN MODULE. WEEKS AFTER THIS LAST FIX THE SAME ISSUES HAPPENED AGAIN AND NOW BOTH SCREENS ARE BLANK AND WILL NOT COME BACK ON AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR. IT IS HEADING TO THE DEALER FOR YET ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC. NOTE DURING MOST OF THESE ISSUES I WAS USING CAR PLAY BUT HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED IT JUST USING FM RADIO. THE PROBLEMS USUALLY DON'T SURFACE TILL AFTER DRIVING ON A BUMPY ROAD.

MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. THE FIRST ISSUE HAPPENED AROUND 300 MILES, THE APPLE CARPLAY WOULD NOT CONNECT. HAD TO REPEATEDLY DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT APPLE XS MAX. AT TIMES THE SOUND WOULD JUST STOP WORKING. SWITCHING FROM CARPLAY, XM RADIO, AND FM WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. THE INFOTAINMENT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ON JULY 13TH. I TRIED TO "FIX" BY TURNING THE PASSPORT OFF AND ON, GETTING OUT OF THE PASSPORT AND LOCKING THE DOORS, GETTING BACK IN AND STARTING IT. I TRIED THIS ABOUT 10 TIMES AND NOTHING WORKED. I DROVEE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY QUICKLY DISCONNECTED THE BATTER FROM THE PASSPORT AND THIS RESOLVED THE ISSUE. THE ISSUES HAPPENED BOTH WHILE THE PASSPORT WAS IN DRIVE AND WHILE IN MOTION. I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR NOT HOLDING MEMORY. THE MIRROR SOMETIMES DOES A FACTORY RESET, SO I AM FINDING MYSELF HAVING TO RESET THE MIRROR EVERY TIME I GO TO DRIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HONDA PASSPORT. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. ROYAL HONDA (2633 N. HULLEN ST, METAIRIE, LA) WAS CONTACTED IN REFERENCE TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,700.

NOTE. ALL HAS TAKEN PLACE WHILE IN MOTION EXCEPT FOR THE RESTART. STARTED WITH INTERMITTENT SPEAKER CRACKLES. YESTERDAY CRACKLES WITH RADIO ON REOCCURRING CRACKLES FOLLED BY INFOTAINMENT SCREAN NOTING RADIO SIGNAL LOSS FOLLED BY DATA COMMUNICATIONS LOSS. (PARAPHRASING) FOLLWED BY BLANK SCREEN. FOLLOWED BY BLANK INSTRUMENT SCREEN. FOR SOME SECONDS. THEN ALL SCREANS BECAME FUNCTIONAL. TODAY AS RADIO PLAYED THERE WAS A LOSS OF SOUND WITH VISUAL INDICATION RADIO OPERATION WAS CONTINUING AS A BUMP IN THE ROAD WAS NOTED. RADIO REMAINED SILENT TILL LATER AS ENGINE WAS RESTARTED. RADIO THEN SOUNDED THROUGH SPEAKERS.

VEHICLE WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK, IT WAS STATIONARY. FIRST TIME 3/27/19 PICKING UP NEW AT DEALERSHIP. SECOND TIME 4/10/19, PARKED IN MY GARAGE. BOTH TIMES NUMEROUS WARNING CODES DISPLAYED. IN MY GARAGE 10 WARNING CODES DISPLAYED, RAN MOTOR FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND TURNED OFF. RESTARTED LATER AND 7 WARNING CODES DISPLAYED AND VEHICLE WOULD GO INTO DRIVE. DROVE TO DEALERSHIP, MADE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE 4/11/19. DEALERSHIP FOUND MULTIPLE BATTERY LOW CODES STORED FROM WHEN BATTERY DIED ON LOT. TECHNICIAN NOTICED A HAM RADIO ANTENNA MOUNT ON THE CROSS BAR AND REPORTED THE UNKNOWN ACCESSORY ATTACHED TO THE CROSS BAR COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH VEHICLE CODES BEING SET. AS OF THIS DATE ALL THE PARTS TO INSTALL A TRANSCEIVER HAVE NOT ARRIVED. THE UNKNOWN ACCESSORY IS JUST A MOUNT AND AT THE DEALERSHIP INSPECTION IT HAS A GROUND WIRE, 14 GAUGE THHN, CONNECTED TO A BRACKET. WHEN THE ANTENNA IS INSTALLED IT MUST BE GROUNDED TO FRAME. I'M INCLUDING JPEGS OF ANTENNA MOUNT. ALSO I HAVE SUPPORTING EMAILS DETAILING WHEN THE PARTS WILL ARRIVE TO MY PO BOX AND OR STREET ADDRESS. A TRANSCEIVER HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE! THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE BATTERY/VEHICLE!

LET VEHICLE RUN ABOUT 15 MINUTES, TURN OFF, GO INSIDE FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES, RESTART VEHICLE, 7 WARNINGS AND NOW CAN GET INTO DRIVE. ONE ADDED ISSUE: AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN CLOSING THE DOOR THERE IS SEVERAL BEEPS INDICATION THE KEY IS STILL INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE KEYFOB IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE OR ANYWHERE NEAR!! VEHICLE STATIONARY IN GARAGE AT HOME.
