Needed a steering rack. Needed a new transmission due to a torque converter failure. Now AWD is intermittently faulty needing fuel injectors. All within 1 year

Dashboard warning "Emissions System Problem". Trouble code - P0430 / Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2. Brought it in to the dealer, and required the fuel injection to be replaced. There is recall for model year 2016-2019 Honda Pilot V6, but was told by the dealer this car was not part of the recall based on the VIN#. Fuel Pump was having problem, and replaced under recall on 09/28/2023 (54K miles).

My car is very hesitant while driving, it pulsates as well. I can be driving at 65mph and next thing I’m doing 45-50 and the engine is sputtering and the dashboard lights up with check engine lights.I know there’s a recall on the fuel injectors for the model year I own but mine is not included in the recall which I think it should be. Scanned the codes and got P0430 and P219B which is the fuel injectors as well as raw fuel making its way back to the catalytic converter. I’ve read of thousands of Honda owners with the same issues of being left high and dry by Honda just because they refuse to include vin numbers that should have been in the original recall. I really hope this recall can be expanded as my car has been babied with only 49K miles on it. Thank you

Fuel Injector issue - diagnosed at Mike's Automotive, a NAPA AutoCare Center by ASE certified technician. Codes were P0430 and P219B which indicates fuel injector issue. The Emmissions System Problem check engine light goes on and off at random times, reduced fuel economy by almost 5 mpg, hard shifting, stalling. All symptoms are in line with the recall for 2019 Honda Pilots however my VIN is not included in the recall, but I believe it should be. Honda wants me to bring my vehicle to a Honda Dealership to get diagnosed, diagnostic is my cost, though I've already paid for a diagnostic at a different repair shop.

Nov 20, 2025

My vehicle keeps pulling up a code intermittently to do with fuel injector issues. The mechanic tells me that it is a fuel injector issue needing replacement. There is a recall for my model of 2019 Pilots, but Honda is saying my VIN is not included in this recall. I find it highly unlikely that this is related due to my fuel injectors are messed up and the machine checking for my engine light issue is pulling the same codes and issues that are covered by the recall on other Pilots. It is very evident that my vehicle and other owners' pilots are having the same fuel injector issues but are also being told their VIN is not covered under this recall. This seems to be a much bigger issue than they are admitting or including in the recall, and this should definitely be reconsidered due to the costly repairs this is for owners experiencing this same manufacture problem.

Oct 26, 2025

Fuel Injectors failed after being replaced less than 50,000 miles ago. This is part of a larger Honda issue noted on Bulletin 21-010. It is causing my car to not accelerate appropriately which is dangerous when on the road. Honda inspected the vehicle and found code P219B. This after finding code P0430 in April 2025 causing me to have to replace catalytic coverters. The emissions system light turned on for each of these issues. Please include my VIN in the safety notice since it is clearly having the same issues as all the other 2019 Honda Pilots.

Oct 20, 2025

The car keeps getting a 219a error code intermittently. The dealer states it is the fuel injectors needing replacement. There is a service bulletin for my model of 2019 Pilot , with a warranty extension to 10 years or 150,000 miles but Honda is saying my VIN is exclusionary and want affected. Except, my fuel injectors are bad with the same code and issues as covered by the warranty extension. It seems quite clear that my vehicle and so many other pilot owners with them from this generation are having the same fuel injector issue but being told their VIN is not effected. One needs only to do a quick search online to see that this is bogus and a more widespread problem than honda is taking responsibility for.

six months ago, I reached out due to an extreme concern regarding my safety and wellbeing regarding a 2019 Honda Pilot that I purchased from Carmax in Newark, DE. I purchased the car on January 10th and on January 29th there were issues with driving the vehicle. The car began to jolt and shake and the check engine light came on. I contacted the warranty company and was told that since it was within 30 days I would have to contact Carmax directly. I contacted the dealership and had the car towed to Carmax. On February 3rd I heard back from the dealership with a diagnostic test result. At that time, I was told by the service representative that the car had a transmission switch that had to be fixed. I was later told that when they fixed the switch it didn’t resolve. On February 5th I was then told it was the fuel injector, and they were going to do an engine flush. The car was not fixed until February 13th.I was given the run around with the service representative and the manager on duty regarding my concern with the vehicle and its safety. I asked if I could change this car for a different car because I do believe that it was unsafe. I was inevitably told since it was a used car that “these things happen” and any work done on the vehicle is covered under warranty for at least one year. I mentioned “Lemon Law,” and the manager mentioned that it only applies to new vehicles. I was also informed that I would have to wait for them to fix the same issue three or four times before we could discuss an exchange of the car. I filed complaints with DOJ, Honda Service, wrote a google review and sent emails to other parties by February 17th. (I WILL ATTACHED THE DETAILED DOCUMENTATION, THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH CHARACTERS AVAILABLE)

As the vehicle is stopped in traffic and is about the proceed, the vehicle automatically shifts into park and the emission warning light comes on. The vehicle is unable to be put back into drive unless the vehicle is turned off and then restarted creating a dangerous condition while you are stuck in middle of the roadway.

Sep 2, 2025

The Fuel Pump was issued a recall that i had replaced, but due to it not operating properly it caused my high pressure fuel pump in the engine to malfunction as well. This has been conveniently left out of the recall for fuel pump and the dealership wouldn't agree to look into it further.

Sep 1, 2025

This vehicle continues to have issues related to a problem that was issued for the fuel pump earlier this year. My fuel pump was replaced, but the vehicle continues to do the same thing. It stalls and jerks while I am driving and does not start sometimes after getting gas. When I am trying to accelerate the vehicle does not go at full power. One time I was going out into traffic and had to reverse because I knew that I would not make it and get hit. In addition to this, the vehicle has an issue with the braking system. Other years have been recalled for what they call ghost breaking, and although this one does this, it has not been recalled. I will be driving and the car will all of a sudden just brake on its own as if there is a vehicle/object in front of me. Sometimes this happens in the same location. Honda is supposed to be a reliable car, but it seems they have failed with this year/model of the Pilot because it has been big issue after big issue.

On [XXX] a code p0430 appeared on the dash board screen. The car was making a strange noise coming from the engine. I took the car to Integrity Auto Repair shop in McAllen, Texas, they checked the code and said that it was the catalytic converters that were going bad. So I requested an estimate, since their estimate was too high, I contracted a private mechanic to replace the catalytic converters (2), and another part connected to the system. Also, we replaced the oxygen sensors and the noise did not go away. Then, on August 25th, 2025 I decided to take my Honda pilot to the dealer Honda in Pharr, Texas for a check up and they told me that the reason the car was making so much noise and had so much reduced engine power was because the high pressure fuel pump was failing. So, I asked the service representative: If the problem is the high pressure fuel pump, why the dash board code p0430 showed up? Ana, was the representative's name; she replied that the front dash camera is malfunctioning and needs to also be replaced. I asked her...my car just has 76,000 miles, i paid so much money for this car and you are telling me that the dash camera and the high fuel pressure pump are not good? And, I spent almost 4,000.00 Dollars replacing the wrong parts because your dash board gave me the wrong code? Why is this happening? I am driving my car with my two little daughters in the car, taking them to school and back and hearing the car engine noise and wondering when is it going to leave me on the road? Then I asked her; this looks like that is a problem from the manufacturer and Honda should be responsible for the repair. Imagine the dash board giving me the wrong warning code? And the car has only 76,000 miles. Then I go and spend so much money for nothing? This is not normal. I feel that Honda is responsible for the car failures. We took our honda pilot to our local dealership (Nelson Honda 2500 Greensboro Rd Martinsville Va. 24112) for a recall on the fuel pump motor on 4/16/2025. We noticed when driving the vehicle that it had some hesitation when going up hills. The problem persisted so we finally made an appointment to have it rechecked on 7/30/2025. They advised nothing wrong recommended transmission fluid changed. We went to our local repair shop and had them to look at it and much to our surprise the fuel pump had not been touched. We have pictures and you can tell it hasn't been touch in a long while. When we called the dealership they told us that it was completed and that we should not file a compliant because they are a small dealership. I know that I'm one person but this car is my main transportation and I should be able to trust that when a recall is done that they actually do the work. Any help or assistance that you can give would be greatly appreciated.

This has been an on-going problem since the beginning of the year. For at least the past 7000 miles of driving, my 2019 Honda Pilot has been juttering (Honda Mechanic's Term-not mine). Pursuant to a Honda Technical Service Bulletin on this issue, I paid $1967.06 to change the fuel injectors and spark plugs in the vehicle. This did NOT resolve the problem. Anthony Hart, Customer Complaint Manager from Honda Headquarters in Torrance, CA, told me I had to take the vehicle to the local Honda Service Department and pay the $106.99 it charged for an analysis and recommendation for the repair. I did that. The mechanic acknowledged the problem and suggested to flush the transmission fluid and to perform a throttle body service with re-learn at a cost of $901.08. This appeared to be more of an "upcharge for service" rather than a resolution for the repair. Also, I was dealing with Anthony who insisted upon the evaluation in order for him to authorize some compensation for such. Therefore, I declined the service pending Anthony's response. Each time I get to speak with Mr. Hart, it is almost as if I am a first time contact. I have to reiterate that I am now into the repairs to this vehicle in the amount of $2074.05 with an additional suggested item of $901.08. The costs would therefore total $2975.13 WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED! It is unconscionable that Honda recognizes the issue being so common in my car that it has issued a Technical Service Bulletin; however, the suggested repair DOES NOT WORK. Honda has not issued a recall on this issue; nor has it apparently been willing to reimburse me for the repairs thus far. We are afraid to take the vehicle on long trips for fear of being stranded somewhere.

I have had multiple situations where the auto idle has engaged and the vehicle has died. Most of the time the car restarts by holding down the ignition button, but twice it's required a jump. I have taken this into honda multiple times and they've told me they can't recreate the problem, but it consistently happens to me. The most recent time was at a high speed intersection and almost resulted in a serious collision. The below question asked how many miles on my vehicle. We first noticed this at about 25000 miles, but most recently occurred today at 80000 miles.

Jul 10, 2025

I believe this car was subject to the recall where something about the AIS system needed to be fixed. The initial problem was the car would stall out at lights when the AIS system was activated. I went in for the recall and had not experienced the problem since. That’s until the past couple days where the problem is back to occurring when I’m stopped at a light and fully depressed the brake, the car stops idling and fails to restart creating a dangerous condition in traffic. It is stressful, unneeded, and puts my family in danger.

Had veh fixed for fuel injection issues in 2023 paid 1500 repair complained to handa America and they paid it.. car was still under warranty.. Recall fuel injection in Feb 2025 after honda buena park fixed it had same hesitation issues between 30 50 mph after just 2 weeks after repair. Took it back had to pay 250 for dialysis no answer.. wanted 3000 to attempt to fix it but no guarantees.. Took car to local auto parts store hooked car to analysis problem and it says ECM is issue. Now why is a local auto parts store able to find problem for free but honda wants 3000 to guess. Honda america was no help. This is now the 3rd issues with fuel system only have 77000 miles on this car.

Manufacturer has failed to complete recall repair 23V-858 after numerous requests during numerous service appointments. They claim lack of available parts.

Honda dealership has not had parts for over a year now

Apr 15, 2025

My vehicle has stalled twice since purchased a little over year ago. When stopped at a stop light the auto start/stop function failed to re-engage. I had to put the car back in park and restart the vehicle both times before I could drive forward. There were no warning lights either time this has happened.

Apr 13, 2025

Honda Pilot 2019 idle stop system is defective. The engine's failure to automatically restart after shutting down poses significant safety risk. When at a red traffic light, the engine will turn off to save fuel. At this point, the car is supposed to restart when you release the brake. Instead, the idle-stop system periodically fails. It will take the car out of drive and place it in neutral. At this point, the driver has to put the car in park then restart the car. This process can take 30 or so seconds, at best, creating a very unsafe road condition as traffic is flowing. This prolonged restart process poses a significant safety risk to both the occupants of the vehicle and other road users.

The catalytic converter needed to be replaced due to faulty fuel injectors causing damage. This caused major surging in my vehicle, making it difficult to accelerate in a normal way and caused shaking in my vehicle.

MULTI PURPOSE LIGHTS ON

Apr 1, 2025

My 2019 Honda Pilot start/stop feature shut down my car in a busy intersection and would not start up again. Dashboard warning lights flickered and no response to trying to start the vehicle. Towed to dealer at my expense and had to replace battery on 04/04/2023 for 2019 car.

Mar 10, 2025

The Pilot has exhibited unusual behavior that seems tied to the autostop functionality when at a stop light. Three times now I will let my foot off the brake and the car completely shuts down. When I try to restart the vehicle, the accessory power turns on but the vehicle will not start. It will start to turn over, but the turn over terminates abruptly and the car completely shuts off. The behavior seems similar to what is in the NHTSA Action Number PE22005

Recall 23v-858 it has been longer than 6 month on a wait list and was told it will be 6 months or more for completion.

Jan 9, 2025

We purchased our 2019 Honda Pilot in the summer of 2020 and a few years later, we started getting issues with the car where it would have issues propelling smoothly between 1-2 RPMs, then we got the recall notice around January of 2024 re. the fuel pump, which i believe was the cause of our symptoms. the reason i say that is because we had 2 mechanics look at the car, and did not find anything wrong (we had changed out the spark plugs believing that was the issue and the symptoms did not go away; we had a transmission fluid flush and the symptoms did not go away. We have been concerned about the car for years, and when the recall came out, we kept calling to ask for them to repair the car and we kept getting told they did not have the parts (first it was they parts would be in around spring time, then they started saying summer, then they started saying fall, then late fall). I went into the recall notice on nhtsa and saw that it said something about if you were experiencing symptoms due to the recall, to call Honda and they should repair the vehicle. When i called Honda, i was told that unless the car completely failed and did not start, only t hen would they fix the vehicle. I felt that this was unsafe and concerned that the fuel pump would completely fail while being driven, so we had to unfortunately sell the vehicle due to the concerned safety issues Honda was not repairing. I loved the car other than for this issue so was very unhappy to have to resort to that as a solution. Honda should be held accountable for their failure to act for over 10 months to do something re. this matter.

Jan 4, 2025

It’s been over a year my vehicle has a recall for the fuel pump module and it has not been replaced. I have taken it to Honda multiple times and I am told they do not have the part. I did read the information provided on your website. What has to happen in order for the fuel pump module to be replaced?

Jan 3, 2025

Fuel injector is causing AWD error. No longer able to use the auto start on vehicle. Sometimes vehicle will not start. Unsure if that was due to the fuel pump recall either. Fuel pump has been replaced. Check engine light is still on and last time we had it checked it was due to fuel injector. The fuel injector was part of a recall for the year and model of our car but Was told our VIN was not part of the recall.

Dec 11, 2024

On the highway, driving at 70mph, the speed of the car dropped suddenly down to 40mph. Almost caused an accident as there wasn't time for other cars to break or move lanes. Managed to exit and drove slowly to the dealership. They said it was a problem to the high pressure fuel pump.

Dec 7, 2024

In January, 2024 I was notified by Honda that the fuel pump module was being recalled and to contact our Honda dealer to have the vehicle repaired at no cost. Unfortunately, for the past twelve months I have been unable to have my vehicle scheduled for repair. I have been to two Honda dealers and we also called Honda headquarters and were told by all three that they're still waiting for the replacement parts, yet they could not give an estimated date when those parts would be available.

Dec 2, 2024

The vehicle stalls when accelerating from start and during driving on highway, when it does this, all passenger can feel the stall and alarms everyone. We purchased this vehicle and it does not have warranty and has not been checked by manufacturer. No warning lamps or messages.

My car has the following recall #23V-858. I am aware that Honda has issues with sourcing the replacement part. I called when receiving the first notification in Feb 2024 and was told this. I checked again when receiving the 2nd notification in May 2024 and was told the same, difficulty sourcing the required part. I recently have started to notice issues with the car which point to this problem, hesitation and uneven fuel supply. I contacted the local Honda Dealer, Ron Bouchards Honda Store, Lancaster, MA and after escalating the issue with customer service they scheduled an appointment to address the issue. When scheduling they informed me that they would charge $180 service fee. The reason I escalated this issue was that it is not a service issue but a recall issue. Can NHTSA help in addressing this issue? It makes no sense that a recall must be paid for by a consumer when the problem exists for the owner. Thank you for you assistance. Problem: Emissions System Problem I am reaching out to request an expansion of the coverage provided by Service Bulletin 21-010 to include vehicles of the same model year, trim level, and similar specifications—even if they fall outside the currently specified VIN range. I believe this case is reason for Honda to consider expanding the coverage due to the potential for this issue to affect additional vehicles beyond the initially designated VINs. 1. Defects Are Not Always VIN-Specific Manufacturing flaws can affect an entire batch of production, not just a specific VIN range. Issues related to parts, assembly processes, or design flaws found within the currently affected VIN range could very well extend to vehicles produced around the same time, even if they lie outside the VIN specifications. By limiting coverage strictly to the designated VIN range, Honda may inadvertently overlook other vehicles that share the same defect. 2. Shared Components and Engineering Design While variations in parts and tolerances are expected, vehicles with the same model year and trim level often share critical components and similar engineering specifications. This makes it likely that other vehicles outside the specified VIN range could also be affected by the same defect. Given that design, assembly processes, and parts are often consistent across a model year, expanding the coverage could better account for possible common manufacturing issues. 11-9-24 - Honda ran their analysis determined the following issue: P0430 (FRONT BANK CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD [BANK 2]) BULLETIN OUT FOR FUEL INJECTORS REPLACEMENT FIRST. PERFORMED CYLINDER AF TEST AND FAILDER NUMBER 1 AND 6. REPLACE FUEL INJECTORS AND PERFORM AF TEST AGAIN. MAY NEED CAT. CONVERTER FRONT. On 11-8-24 Honda Customer Support refused to include this car in the recall. Vehicles with the same year, model, and trim level should be included in the service bulletin, based on the systemic nature of the defect.

My car has a surge and hiccup. Upon the test drive the mechanic said it feels like it’s misfiring. Several mechanics have said this could be due to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is on a safety recall, however Honda has been refusing to fix it for about a year now. Due to the hesitation, when driving my car could stall any moment, which will increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Oct 1, 2024

Honda issued a recall on 12/18/2023 for the fuel pump that it acknowledges could cause the car to fail while driving, 23V-858. Over nine months later, parts are still not available to address this recall. That seems to exceed a reasonable timeframe to allow drivers to continue to drive cars that could critically malfunction.

Sep 23, 2024

Honda is to replace the fuel pump with a new one due to a recall. I have received my notice to go get one more than 6 weeks ago and they never have any in stock and will not provide me any info on when they will be available. Just that they get them randomly and that there is nothing they can do for me and they refuse to contact me when they got one and told me its like a lottery, if you can and we have one then you are lucky and we will replace.

Sep 16, 2024

i was notified of a vehicle recall related to a fuel pump issue. when i contacted my local Honda dealer 9 months ago, i was told that i was on a list for repair and would be notified when parts were available. i called today and was informed there is no such list. since my fuel pump went out, i was stranded and forced to replace with an after market fuel pump. All Star Honda in Abilene Tx told me today that they would not be servicing the recall any more because it was replaced with a non OEM part. this does not seem right to me. how can you issue a recall, not correct it, expect the customer to correct it, and then still not honor the recall when parts become available. what they said is that Honda Corporate determines how many parts will be sent to dealerships and they have no control over when they will get them. it seems as if honda does not care if the recalls are repaired or not.

Sep 2, 2024

I am concerned about the 2019 Honda Pilot fuel pump recall. My vehicle is dispaying symptoms described in the recall letter. We called a national number inquiring about parts availability. We were told the dealership just needs to request the part. We've gone to 2 Honda dealerships that required $180 to diagnose the recall. The letter from Honda says the recall will be completed for free. There was no mention of the $180 fee to diagnose the recall. My vehicle hesitation has become worse in recent months and feels unsafe to drive. Honda is raking in money from recalls. I finally paid the $180....I will be surprised if they admit that my car issues have anything to do with the recall. This whole process seems unethical.

Aug 26, 2024

Recall notice received May 2024 for a faulty fuel pump. As of Aug 26, dealer continues to claim they can not get the parts necessary to fix. They tell me the failure risk is low and I should not worry about it. Those words ring hollow when you are telling me their is a risk of a crash and injury. Why is this acceptable.

Jul 31, 2024 Crash

NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858: I have contacted my local Honda dealer multiple times to fix vehicle per the recall and have been told that Honda has provided no parts to fix the vehicle, even after my vehicle began experiencing problems. Recently, while operating my vehicle, it hesitated (i.e. almost stalled out) and then surged forward, which caused me to get into a collision and sustain injuries. After the collision, I contacted the Honda manufacturer using the customer service number on the recall notice and informed them of the collision. They denied that the issue my vehicle was experiencing was related to recall even though a Honda website states that the fuel pump issue will cause the same issues that I experienced. The Honda manufacturer customer service rep. stated that Honda has parts to fix the recall and the dealer should have asked to receive a part. When I contacted the dealer and informed them of the Honda manufacturer customer service rep. statements, the service manager and my local dealer became upset and frustrated as he informed me that they have been trying to get parts for months. The Honda manufacturer does not appear to care for the safety of the individuals using their products, nor the for the individuals that may also be injured based upon these unsafe vehicles still being on the road. In additions, the Honda manufacturer is providing intentionally misleading statements to consumers related to the recall. Their actions are unacceptable and they should be held accountable.

vehicle has recall for fuel pump. vehicle has had the CEL (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) on for the fuel system. it comes and goes and has had shuttering issues. I have called local dealer and was told until the vehicle is completely disabled that their hands were tied. The dealer wouldn't even look at my vehicle. I feel the safety of my family is at risk as we travel the very busy interstate of the suburbs of Cincinnati. I do not like Diving a vehicle that may become disabled with my kids in it

Fuel pump recall received 2/24. Was told no parts available for 2 months. 6/24 parts still not available. Yet Honda is still sending me recall notices. BUT CANNOT GET RECALL DONE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO DO RECALL AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL GET THEM!!!

Jun 3, 2024

My vehicle started experiencing issues with hesitation when driving it on the freeway as if it was placed into Neutral when accelerating. As instructed by my Service Bulletin Number 24-010 letter, I needed to take my vehicle to the dealership. I took my vehicle to the Hendrick Honda dealership located at 14201 Richmond Hwy Woodbridge, VA 2219. They are trying to tell me that the recall is an extended warranty and they won't do anything unless the fuel pump goes out or they do a diagnostic that gives them a code that says there is an issue with the fuel pump module. The letter clearly states this is a recall and NOT an extended warranty issue. This incident occurred on [XXX] 2024. I want to make this response known to you guys because if I am being told this others are too. This recall is a safety issue, which can cause our vehicle to lose complete power! If I am experiencing issues as stated with this vehicle this is a concern. I won't be taking my vehicle back to that location, but I want to make sure that this issue is clarified and that their response is being addressed. Thank you for your time. The fuel Pump has been stalling and acting out since 2022 and received Recall "NHTSA Number: 23V-858 on February 2024. We call Tampa Honda at 813-935-8585 to schedule a recall repair. Tampa Honda informed us that they don't have parts to replace the Fuel Pump. We then, 60 days after February 2024, received a second recall letter, "NHTSA Recall Number: 23V-858 today 18 MAY 2024 and called Tampa Honda for the second time to schedule a recall repair of the Fuel Pump. For the second time, Tampa Honda customer service told us that they don't have parts for the replacement. We informed them that the recall issue ( Stalling and Engine hesitation while driving )with our Honda Pilot 2019 is persistent and that we are concerned about the vehicle's safety.

Three of the six fuel injectors on a 2019 Honda Pilot failed, with Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0430, P0300, P0304, P0306, and P219A, resulting in the vehicle requiring transportation via tow truck to an independent service center. Research into the history of 2019 Honda Pilots indicates that 2019 model-year vehicles within a certain VIN number range, along with all 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys, 2016-2018 Honda Pilots, and 2017-2019 Honda Ridgelines, had their warranties extended for fuel injectors to 10 years from original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. See Honda Service Bulletin 20-100. The issue is that some 2019 Honda Pilots are failing with these DTC codes, but are not covered by the warranty extension. The problem was diagnosed by an independent service center and we were directed to Honda for further diagnostic and possible warranty service. A technician at the service center stated that he had never seen a customer have to pay for fuel injector replacement on a Honda Pilot from 2016-2019 model years that developed this problem. Regardless, Honda insists that this vehicle is not covered by the warranty extension and required us to pay for the repair ourselves. My family and I were temporarily without a usable vehicle, because our other vehicle was undergoing scheduled maintenance at the time of the failure. Prior to the failure, all of the warning lamps on the vehicle would occasionally illuminate at vehicle start up, but the vehicle operated normally, and the warning lamps stopped illuminating after a few start ups. The warning lamps that would simultaneously illuminate were all of the ADAS systems available on this vehicle, as well as things like Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, Emissions, and the Anti-Lock Braking System. So many errors were simultaneously reported on the dashboard that our service center believed that the problem might be an intermittent Engine Control Computer problem in addition to the issue listed above.

February 2024, I received the 23V-858 recall notice for the fuel pump module that may have an improperly molded impeller and can cause the fuel pump to become inoperable. On [XXX], my vehicle stalled on [XXX] in Atlanta, GA. My car was towed to Honda Mall of Georgia in Buford, GA on [XXX]. On [XXX], the technicians at Honda Mall of Georgia confirmed that it was indeed the fuel pump (that is under a safety recall) had gone out. My car has sat there ever since because they have yet to receive a part from Honda. I has been 60 days and there has been no remedy due to the fact they have not received a part. Emissions System Problem code appeared on dash with check engine light on. I took the car to the dealer immediately and they ran codes and tests on it and stated the Fuel injectors need replaced. Doing research on the fuel injectors on the 2019 Honda Pilot I came across the NHTSA article how other 2019 Honda Pilots have already had issues but my VIN is not coming up with this error per everyone I have talked at with Honda. per the policy stated by NHTSA below: DATE: February 11, 2021 TO: All Honda Sales, Service & Parts Managers, and Personnel FROM: Brad Ortloff, Manager Auto Campaign Administration Dept. Re: UPDATE - Warranty Extension: 2018-19 Odyssey, 2016-19 Pilot, 2017-19 Ridgeline V6 Fuel Injector On, November 24, 2020, American Honda announced a warranty extension for certain 2016 Pilot vehicles. Today, February 11, 2021 American Honda is announcing an expansion to the vehicles covered under this warranty extension. Certain 2018-19 Odyssey, 2017-19 Pilot, and 2017-19 Ridgeline vehicles are being added to this market action. American Honda is extending the warranty coverage of the fuel injectors to 10 years from the original date of purchase or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first. BACKGROUND The fuel injectors may not have been manufactured to proper specifications. As a result, debris from the high pressure pump or the fuel injector machining process may cause internal wear or clogging inside one or more injectors. Also, the PCM software may misinterpret sensor inputs as a deteriorated catalytic converter. REPAIR Dealers will replace the fuel injectors and on certain vehicles may also perform a software update. PARTS Parts are available for ordering. TOOLS There are no special tools needed for this campaign. I was provided an email on my 2019 Honda Pilot in December 2023. I called my local Honda dealership to schedule the repair. I was scheduled and the day of my appointment they called to cancel stating the parts were not in. I waited till January 2024 and called back and they stated that they are still working out a plan with Honda and at this time no parts are available but they should be coming in the next month or two. I just got a letter in the mail today stating that it is going to be fall 2024 before parts are available. After reading this safety, recall letter I received from Honda it stating why the vehicles under recall, and the safety consequence regarding it. My check engine light is not on however, my vehicle has been acting like it is going to stall out several times while I’m driving under 35 mph. I’m very concerned because this is the only vehicle I have and I have four children and the thought of possibly being in an accident is very scary to think about, due to Honda not having a replacement part to fix the recall. This is assuming that the parts would be in by fall to fix the vehicle. I don’t have another vehicle to access so if I happen to get into accident and it’s due to my vehicle stalling would Honda then be liable for the wreck? I am little frustrated and have never in my life experienced an issue with Honda until now. If the parts are “unavailable” then I personally feel Honda should be paying for rental vehicles for these families who don’t have any other choices. I would rather pay for a rental than be sued for “potential injury” where the recall paper states that having an inoperable fuel pump, could prevent an engine from starting, causing the vehicle to lose power or stalling, while driving increasing the risk of an injury or crash. Something needs to be done about this.

Feb 23, 2024

I am filing a complaint with Honda Motors due to a recall regarding the fuel pump. I received a letter stating that it is an issue that can be serious, leading to an accident or injury. The main reason for this complaint is that Honda stated that the part will not be available for at least seven months. This is our family car and we have two young children we would obviously like to keep safe. I do not feel safe with this current issue that cannot be resolved in a timely manner. I would like to know if the lemon law applies or anything to trade in this car that should not be driven. Thank you

As we were driving we started experiencing some slight stalling and eventually started hearing a pitter patter noise as we accelerated. At one point while on the freeway we stalled out and had to pull over almost causing an accident for the person behind us to hit us. This has more recently come up again as we were driving on the road and almost caused another accident. We did take it to two different Honda Dealers and both confirmed that it has to do with the current fuel pump recall. No warnings.

The gas tank has a leak. This could result in a fire and is environmentally detrimental. Both a Honda dealer & and independent service center has verified this issue. This was discovered due to a check engine light.

My vehicle is equipped with a feature that turns it off at brakes stops and restarts when the gas is pushed (example - at a stop sign). Honda did a recall and replaced a part but this feature on my vehicle still stalls and doesn’t start instantaneously with the gas, causing a noticeable delay when I’m trying to go from a stoplight. Hondas remedy has been a button to turn this off - bit it must be turned off every single time the car is started and I’m afraid for my teenagers to take my 2019 Pilot because they may not remember the to do this. Honda at one point did turn this feature off on my vehicle but when I got a new battery put in, the computer reset and it is now active again. They informed me they now do not have the ability to turn off this feature due to a government legality over fuel efficiency so I feel very frustrated and disappointed.

I have a 2019 Honda Pilot (VIN [XXX] ), little over 70,000 miles on it. In early December 2023, I started having problems with screening flashing in cycles every warning and failure message for the vehicle. I get a cylinder 4 misfire on my person code reader. Honda Metro in Indian Trail NC tells me this is fuel injectors, they are on national backorder with no guaranteed delivery AND it will cost me over $1200 to fix there. I asked if it was warrantied or recalled and was told no. Researching I found that the 2014-2018 fuel injectors were recalled. Also, found the 2014 -2020 were same injectors so not sure why the 2019 - 2020 are not covered by same recall. Vehicle has emission trouble light with code P219B. Dealer states fuel injectors need to be replaced. The MIL comes on with DTCs P0441 (EVAP System Purge Flow Malfunction) P04F1 (EVAP System Low Purge Flow. Detected). I replaced the purge flow valve and joint purge valve which resolved the issue. The reason I am writing is, the coding within the 2019 Pilot also threw an AWD System Problem MIL, but did not have a specific code associated via the OBD reader. It is a false reading that can cause more work to be done to the car than necessary. Once both purge valves were replaced, there are no MIL's present.

My 2019 Honda Pilot is repeatedly having problems, when the vehicle is started and running, first thing in the morning. There is hard jerking when the vehicle is shifting on low speed (ex: from first to second to third gear). This happens repeatedly in the morning start, then doesn't occur again on that day. It reoccurs again, the next day. Have taken the vehicle to the Dealer Service, they notice the issue but are unable to find the root cause. There is no Error Code generated. I find the same issue is being faced many other Honda Pilot owners, refer the link [XXX] . There was an earlier TSB [XXX] and [XXX], but that is only applicable up to 2017 models. Need a resolution from Honda, as this is not only a nagging unresolved problem, but also a potential safety hazard. Details on this issue for the vehicle, can be found from Honda of Gainesville, Florida. Thanks INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Our 2019 Pilot has experienced intermittent stalling at lights since 2019 and the incidents have occurred more frequently in the past few months (multiple times per week). It has been taken exclusively to the dealer since purchased and for years, they said they were unable to duplicate it. Last service was 08/2023 and Sheehy Honda of Alexandria, VA stated that they duplicated it and fixed it (by resetting codes). Six days later, the stalling began again. I believe it's related to the Auto Idle Stop function. Yes, it's available for inspection. This puts us and others at risk when the car suddenly stalls and stops at a busy intersection with people lined up behind us, not expecting to have to brake. It requires putting vehicle in park, turning it off and restarting engine. It has not been inspected by anyone except the Honda dealer. Warning lights come on when this happens, as it's dying....collision mitigation, battery, and this has been told to the dealer. I recently read online that turning off "Auto Idle Stop" helps and this seems to be true.

I had a engine light showing P0430 which was dealer confirmed to need the fuel injectors replaced. This was the same that is shown in Service Bulletin 21-010. However, my 2019 was not covered under the extended warranty noted in the Service Bulletin for faulted fuel injectors since the extension only applies to "certain" vehicles. This appears to be a model wide problem since the dealership's parts department will not directly sell customers the replacement parts referenced in the service bulletin and seems like there is more of a problem that should be applied to all models.

2019 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD; approximately 76k miles; all routine maintenance performed as scheduled Power Train (Jun-2023)-- had to replace both seals on on transmission / transfer case within the same month as case was leaking transmission fluid. Problem has been confirmed and repaired by two service centers (one seal each) with one at dealer and one at independent service center. No warning lights or indicators, just fluid leaking. Results could have been catastrophic transmission failure. Also replaced "burned" transmission fluid. Fuel / Propulsion System (Jun-2023) -- per service technician at dealer, loose / failing spring in high pressure fuel pump / fuel joint pipe. Per independent service center, if / when pump fails, fuel will spill into the engine. No warning lights or indicators, just noise when starting and accelerating. Trying to schedule service to address this but service centers and dealers are booked and part seems to be hard to come by taking 1-2 weeks to obtain. Neither of these issues should be happening at 75k miles and certainly not on a Honda.

Honda issued a Safety Recall in 2021 to replace a faulty fuel pump on our 2019 Honda Pilot. We took it to Buena Park Honda in November 2021, where they replaced the pump. This weekend the pump failed while we were driving through Parker, Arizona, stranding us on the open highway with two young children in 102 degree weather, putting us at risk of being hit by passing vehicles or heat stroke. We had to have the Honda towed over 130 miles to Unicars Honda in Indio. The dealership informed us that the fuel pump had failed and since the Recall was closed when the recall pump was installed, the cost to replace now would be our expense or charged against our extended warranty. Just prior to the vehicle shutting down we received an alarm and the check engine light came on. I have read that if a recall component is replaced with another defective component this repair should be fully covered, "free of charge" by the manufacturer. I have not received any documentation from the Service Department as yet.

I was at a stop light and my car cycled off as it does when I am stopped and then it did not start back up. It stalled and the dash told me to put the car in park and press the start button and the brake. I tried it several times before it started back up. Very dangerous situation. I had been noticing prior to this that it would hesitate to restart and my car would ding like it does when the light comes on for a service notification. But it would start - this was the first time that it stalled.

2019 Honda Pilot AWD fuel pump replaced per recall in June 2021. Replacement fuel pump failed June 2023 and was replaced by Honda dealer. Initial replacement part examined by Honda service dealer when replacing fuel pump for the second time, not by others. Honda service report states that fuel pump assembly found to be corroded at connection for haness plug. I do not possess the initial fuel pump replacement. Multiple failure messages appeared at time of fuel pump failure, unable to start vehicle.

My car is fairly new (2019 Hond Pilot EXL with 43K miles) but recently "Emissions Systems Problem" warning came up. I was going to take it to service center for diagnostic but the warning went away. I though it was just temporary issue but after some time warning is showing up again. I see some of the VIN with the same year and model were included in fuel injector fix for this warning by the Honda but my VIN is not included. I think this is not that old of a car and Honda needs to address this safety issue and my VIP should be included to fix by Honda with no cost. Thanks. Kumar

This 2019 Honda Pilot Elite has an Engine Auto Shut Off that engages when stopped at traffic lights, stopped traffic, etc. It can be turned off manually each time after starting the car ignition but when it is not - it will engage in these stopped positions. Recently, the Auto Shut Off has been engaging and the vehicle will completely shut off and go into Neutral. This has happened to us at stop lights with some frequency but has recently happened two times in stopped traffic on Interstate 95. We cannot get the vehicle to start back up without completely shutting off the ignition and going through the restart sequence. It is not an immediate fix and we are in a compromised and unsafe position on a highway without being able to start the car quickly.

With the Honda Pilot stopped, the engine shut off with the Auto Engine Idle Stop Feature, but recently when pressing the accelerator pedal the car stalled out and turned off completely including disconnecting blue tooth and audio and display. This has happened one time where it completely shut off instead of restarting when pressing accelerator - but has also had exceptionally long "stall out" timing several other times when accelerator is pressed after stopping at stop light or stop sign. This is a concern as the car is STOPPED when other cars anticipate the vehicle to move forward with traffic and could result in a rear end collision. There was a warning lamp message that flashed on and a dinging - similar to when the car starts initially.

Today is the 6th time our Honda has had issues either the automatic start/stop system failing when at a stop light. The car will stop and shut off like it is supposed to, but will not restart. Car needs to be put into park, turned off, restarted, shift back into drive. This happens while we are at risk of being hit from behind, honked at, and creates an unsafe and stressful driving situation. Car has had infotainment issues that seemed to be fixed, but had issues prior to today’s incident. Car has been only serviced at Honda. No warning lights etc. This issue was reported to our dealer last December and they said the could no replicate the issue. In August this happened again immediately after having the car serviced for an oil change. The car is putting my family and others at risk and there seems to be many others with this same problem happening.

Check engine light Code p219b “Check emissions system” Fuel injectors needed to be replaced at only 32,000 miles. Vehicle was out of standard factory warranty by 6 months but under 36k. Honda did replace them under the service bulletin. Just wanted to report so they hopefully keep covering for others as this is an expensive repair.

While driving, a light came on for Emissions Systems Failure. The vehicle seemed to not accelerate properly like it was pulling. I feared for the safety of my children. This is our only vehicle. My husband took it to the Honda Dealership. He got told that there is an issue with the fuel injector and timing belt. After research, we discovered both these issues have been added to a Honda recall list for our year and model vehicle. When my husband asked the Honda Service team about it, they said yes, but our VIN isn't covered. We are having the exact same issues as the recall.

My car started jerking and then started to get a loud noise. Took it to the dealer and they said has to do to with the fuel pump and to replace/fix it's costing over 3500.00. I noticed that are recalls for Honda Pilot from 2018 to 2020 on fuel pumps. However, there is not a recall on the care yet. How to resolve this issue.

I got my brand new Honda in 2019; the problems started right away, after a few weeks, the radio system would just turn off while driving. The whole console wouldn’t work. I would turn it on/off but still nothing. If I let the car set over night sometimes it may work the next day. They replaced my radio but it continued. [XXX] from Honda said it was finally in Error state and it was the Amplifier. [XXX] had ordered a new 1 & put it in 9/8/22, I thought my problems were over. On 9/12/22; I dropped my daughter off at school, I was leaving but I had to stop for traffic. I was about to pull out when the dash starting flashing/lighting up & I couldn’t go anywhere. The car was in Park and I was stuck. I pushed the car into drive, etc., but it wouldn’t go. I turned the car off/on to try to restart things but nothing. The brakes then locked up and I couldn’t do anything. I tried everything that I could think, I was blocking traffic not allowing people to leave from the school and cars from coming in. I called Honda Rd. Asst. But they said I had no longer a warranty as I am at 30,000 but I thought it was 36,000 miles. They connected me to AAA which I had to pay out of pocket for towing. I called [XXX] & my Serv. Advr. [XXX] so they knew that I was going to towed in. I couldn’t get the vehicle to turn off or on after awhile. 2 hrs. later; the tow truck had came, he had to jump start it to get it on his truck, he toke me to Honda. I waited over 4 hrs. but [XXX] said battery was good, he ran errors but couldn’t find anything wrong except the back up camera had an error but it seemed as though he didn’t believe that is the problem. I could take it home but he said if his wife was having issues, he wouldn’t want her to drive it. I left it w/Honda, [XXX] took it hm. to see if it would do what it did for me. I honestly don’t want to drive it, I am scared; what if something worse happens or pay to be towed again. I didn’t want a new vehicle to deal with issues. The vehicle in question has the idle stop function, which turns off the vehicle when certain conditions are met. Randomly, the vehicle does not restart on its own which forces me to power cycle the vehicle in order for it to start back up. This is a safety issue because the vehicle has been stuck in the middle of an intersection while I am trying to get it restarted. If the vehicle were to be completely disabled, I could be stuck causing a hazard at any given intersection. I have had the vehicle inspected and the battery tested, but everything checks out OK. I don't feel very safe when the vehicle can just shut off randomly and not restart. I have noticed sometimes, when the vehicle does restart, the dash flashes a warning that says, "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem" for a split second and then it clears.

Auto stop start is erratically failing to properly restart the car after brake has been disengaged. After arriving at a complete stop, the vehicle will properly shut down when the driver’s foot is on the brake. When the driver disengages the brakes, the engine should promptly restart and the car will find itself already in drive so it can continue to move forward. Under certain unknown circumstances, the car will stall and not be allowed to restart. In order to continue, I needed to shift the car to park, turn the car off completely, and then restart the car. Only then can I shift the car back to drive and continue. This presents a safety issue since once the brakes are removed, traffic behind interprets this action to mean you will be traveling forward shortly. The restart is sometimes accompanied by a lurk which might be also considered as moving forward. This vehicle has not been in a accident and the dealer was not able to reproduce this issue. The issue seemed to occur shortly after another recall was performed for the fuel pump. Auto stop start cannot be permanently disabled and needs to be performed each time the car is started. This circumstance seems documented in PE22005.

We have had a check engine light going off and on for a few days now. Car sputtering. Almost like no power at times and quick to slow down. We brought it to a Honda dealership and determined it had faulty fuel injectors. I was told there is a campaign on the issue now. But we would have to pay 40% of the repair cost. I believe it to be a dire safety issue. So we are paying for the repair. I was also told there is no recall on it for our vin but similar vehicles with similar issues come through there all the time

May 2021, I received a recall letter from Honda Automobile Division regarding my 2019 Honda Pilot vehicle that may have a fuel pump module with, out of specification impellers. I purchased my new 2019 Honda Pilot, June 2019, from Honda of Kingsport. I scheduled the recall fix on Tuesday, June 1, for Friday June 4, 7am. Lilly, the young lady that scheduled the maintenance appointment verified that Honda of Kpt would have me a loan car ready to go when I arrived on Friday morning. 6pm, Thursday night (6/3/21) the evening prior to my service recall appointment, I receive a call from a Steve McCoy with Honda of Kingsport. He says he will NOT be able to accommodate the loaner car. When I challenge him, he then says he will be able to provide me a loan car. I ask him exactly what they will be doing and he proceeds to tell me they remove the back seat of the vehicle, go through an access door.... IN THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE, remove the fuel pump THROUGH the cab of the vehicle, and replace the fuel pump with a new fuel pump. He verified that this fix will result in gas fumes IN THE CAB OF MY VEHICLE!!!! I am a 66YO, Type 1 diabetic. I cant have interior painting done in my home, without leaving and Honda expects me to drive a vehicle with strong gas fumes in the cab impacting my health! Honda will need to provide me a loan car for a week until the gas fumes are no longer in the cab of my car! PLEASE HELP ME?
