2024 HONDA PROLOGUE Steering Problems

The vehicle began popping when turning left near the axel. Once brought up to Honda we were made aware that they know about the issue but my vehicle didn’t fall as necessary to fix…..yet and they are hoping for a recall in order to address my issue. Till then I’m supposed to drive around with a potentially broken axel with my children.

The vehicle's steering and suspension are making a clicking noise at the CV joint. There are no clear dashboard signs or error indicating that there is an issue with the vehicle. It started a couple months ago and I see that it is a common issue in Honda prologue coming from Chevy component reuse.

Multiple service department members at Honda dealerships have noted a large number of problems related to this topic. The car will be taken to the dealership on January 31, 2026, for inspection. The service department mentioned that the vehicle will be inspected and a service notice will be created, but there is no solution for this safety issue.

This is not one incident, but a building problem. We are hearing a clicking sound from the front of the car whenever making a turn. I think it is the same CV joint problem so many other Prologue owners are complaining about. Is this dangerous? This is our fourth Honda vehicle, and one would expect a reputable company like Honda to stand by their vehicles. A recall is certainly warranted with so many having this issue.

The vehicle makes clicking/popping noises when steering. It starts only when turning the wheel hard one way or the other. As the problem gets worse, turning slightly is enough to make clicking noise. CV Joints/Axles have been replaced every 3,000 miles on my vehicle; around 3,000 and 6,000 miles. Honda seems to be aware of this issue, but is using the same parts to replace the bad joints every time. So it seems the problem is destined to repeat itself over and over. I am wondering when this will become a safety issue. Especially once my warranty runs out and it becomes exorbitant to replace the joints for myself.

I hear a loud clicking sound when I turn the steering wheel at low speeds. The sounds has gotten loud over time. I fear that the steering might not work when I need it the most, i.e when making a quick turn from stop. I have reported this to Great Lakes Honda west dealership in Elyria, Ohio and have an appointment with them today.

Faulty CV joint that produce knocking sounds when turning, recently, along with the knocking noise there is a loud bang noise when trying to turn with some acceleration, the noise is very loud and seems to be something is going to break. It may break down on turning. CV joints were replaced for this car twice and the problem is still comes back, recent diagnosis determined they will need to be replaced again. No warning lights are associated with this problem.

Vehicle only has 13K miles and is one year old, and is making a clicking noise when turning. Especially noticeable when it's cold or I just started driving the vehicle. Called Honda Dealership and the service advisor acknowledged that they're aware of this problem but do not have the parts available to fix it. I believe this vehicle has a problem with defective CV joints/ankle. I was told they would put me on a list and contact me when backordered parts are available, but I'm not sure if I can believe I'll be contacted.

There is a knocking/clicking sound when I accelerate and turn. It sounds like a CV joint. I had it evaluated by the dealer today and they reported they heard it once, but could not reproduce the problem, so they tightened some bolts, but that was all. As soon as I left the dealer it made the noise coming out of the dealer's driveway and multiple times on the way home. I have scheduled another appointment for tomorrow, but I don't see how they could not reproduce the problem. It's very obvious.

This issue is noted heavily on Internet forums, too. I respectfully request this be considered by NHTSA for manufacturer recall.

At approximately 3000 miles, I started hearing clicking noises from front end when accelerating while turning. Noise is more pronounced when turning left and when car is cold, but is rapidly getting worse and is now apparent on both sides and occurs whether cold or not. Dealer says it is CV joints, and a bulletin is out on this repair. Parts are back ordered and not readily available. Google search reveals this is a widespread issue, which explains parts shortage. Dealer says no update to parts has yet occurred, so it seems likely I will need to replace CV joints every time my tires are rotated! After 3 years or 36K miles, it will be a $3000 tire rotation I will be paying for! Please hold GM/Honda responsible for engineering a fix to this problem. I have read of people on their sixth set of axels!

Several issues!! When I turn I hear clicking noises. Last night The "Service High Voltage System" warning lights came on. The Interior pieces are falling off my door and the vent on driver side dash. The automatic emergency break is very strong and jerks very heavily when back up. It’s not turned off!

At approximately 6,000 miles the vehicle started making clicking noises when making a left turn, which then progressed to clicking when making left and right handed turns. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they stated it is a manufacturer defect and there is no recall at this time. When backing the vehicle up it slams the brakes on when there is no reason for it to. The vehicle has also slammed the brakes on when driving down the road and there has been no obstructions or obstacles.

When I make a hard full lock turn, like a U-turn for example, i hear a distinct crunching and creaking sound. It sounds like saying the nonsensical word "garrump"

Service high voltage system light/notification has come on three times since we got it last September 2024. The first time the light came on we heard lots of clicking leading up to the notification. The second time there wasn’t anything noticeably wrong besides the light coming on. The third time the heater wouldn’t heat the air coming in, it stayed cold. Then when trying to charge the car wouldn’t go past 27%.

My 2024 Honda Prologue has numerous issues. First, the CV joints are making the clattering noises when turning right from a stop. Started at almost 8000 miles, more faintly, but now very noticeable. I noticed the left has now started making the same noises as well at 9000 miles on the odometer. Soon after purchase, the automatic braking/collision avoidance slammed on my brakes HARD while driving at highway speeds. Nothing was present in front of me, early morning and no cars around or I probably would have been rear ended for sure. I disabled the auto braking but the “BRAKE” alert comes on almost daily, with nothing there. Backing up did the same so I disabled it as well. Lastly, every time I use my turn signal to turn right and I bring the wheel back to center, it cancels out as it should but it then turns the left signal on for 3 blinks. Assuming the stalk is to strong or weak and goes back just far enough to indicate like I am going to turn or enter left. This can surly cause confusion to other drivers. The dealer stated Honda is aware of the CV noise but has no remedy at this time. For the other issues, they needed me to leave my car but had no loaner available. I will have to return there at another time as the loaners are “first come first served”.

Cv joints clicking. Local Honda service department is aware of the problem, but no fix for it. Service high voltage battery with reduced power. This just came up that limits driving. Heater stopped working. Infotainment center will black out on and off every time I turn on the car. Very dangerous when I forget and I’m backing out of my garage.

ve had the 2024 Honda Prologue in for repair for service high voltage system 5 times. The car was purchased on 20 Jan 25, the first time was on 17March 25 and the car had 1880 miles, the second time was on 13 Oct 25 and the car had 7141 miles, the third time was on 23 Oct 25 and the car had 7357 miles, the 4th time was on Nov 3 and the car had 7421 miles,the 5 times was on 17 Nov 25. With the service high voltage system problem it affects the charging ability of the car, the max charge I can get is 25% which vives me a driving range of 70 miles. When the car was in for the 5th visit they also had to replace the driver side front axel because of bad cv joint,they also found the passangers side front axle was s also bad but could not replace it because of back order on parts with no ETA. Both of thse a re safety issues, not knowinf if the front end might collapse or if I get the service high voltage system warning when I am not near a charging facility. I feel that I am a prisoner to this car and am afraid to drive it far from home. What I understand is that Honda is not making any serious effort to fix these problems. i beleive it will take a few deaths before Honda steps up and takes responsibility.

When driving vehicle noticed clicking noise in front passenger cv axle, it was a constant issue when turning to the right or left. Took to dealership they were able to replicate the issue and ordered the replacement part. Part took 7 days to arrive and was subsequently installed onto the vehicle causing the issue to go away. Recently the front driver side CV Axle has started to make the same noise when turning left. Dealership was unable to replicate and refused to fix. Car had 6000 miles on it when issue first happened. Front Driver side CV Axle happened around 8000 miles.

I got my honda prologue in may 2024, brand new. I have since had it into the shop about to be for the 2nd time due to clicking when i turn . CV JOINTS . they replaced all of them in 9/25 and now again in 11/25... not even 3 months later. I currently also have issues with the mileage, i used to get 260 when i would charge to 80% not i only get 230 if i am lucky. Also , my temp gauges tend of be wrong. along with my mileage showing i have more than i start driving and it goes down by 10-15 miles.... This car is worthless and the constant issues witht he CV JOINTS needs to be recalled so our cars can get bought back .. this is causing more issues for the owners than it needs to be

The contact owned a 2024 Honda Prologue. The contact while depressing the accelerator pedal and attempting to make a left or right turn, there was a clicking sound coming the front of the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. Neither a dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 13,600.

At 1200 miles the car began to have clicking noise when doing sharp turns which appeared to be a CV joint/ axle issue. At 3900 miles dealership replaced both axles. Claimed original parts were defective. Left dealership and with in 9 miles of driving, the same problem problem continued with the clicking, only louder. Car also has "sticky" unresponsive steering for brief moment every time when attempting change lanes or exit freeway. This is an issue expereince only when the car is driven at higher speeds. Lane depature system is always disabled so it should not contribute to this problem. Car is now back at the dealership to have the axles replaced again with only 4000 miles on it. This means the car is now on it's third set of axles in under 9 months and with 4000 miles.

Vehicle makes clicking noises when making sharp turns at low speed. Replacement of left front axle done at 3,833 miles by dealership service department on 5/22/25. Clicking was reported again on 6/15/25 but was unable to replicate in noisy surroundings. Dealership advisor stated there is no solution to repair the problem and this would keep happening. Noise worsened and vehicle was taken to a different dealer on 7/21/25. The service advisor stated that they were "unable to determine cause at this time. Concern is under investigation." Advisor claimed this "may possibly be a normal characteristic."

When I apply my indicator in one direction and begin my turn, the indicator automatically turns off at a certain point. Immediately afterwards, the OPPOSITE indicator automatically flashes about three times. This happens about half of the time I’m making a basic 90 degree turn. It has happened regularly since I purchased the car in December of last year. It is a safety issue since the people behind me think I am making a quick left after making a right or vice versa. It seems to be an issue with GM models, and this is a GM build.

Knocking sound in the front when turning Honda states normal axel problem. For Fuel/battery . Been in a back and forth with Honda service/Honda motors because I’m getting less then advertised on my range performance. Example I drove a 60 mile drive and car drained 109z that’s 49 miles unaccounted for. I am now being told by Honda Motors mediation that the battery loses 30/40 percent efficiency in cold weather. That’s horrible. It’s not advertised and it’s unacceptable. It’s unsafe that customers can’t depend on the vehicle when an emergency happens.

Around 500 miles into my lease the CV Balljoint is making a creaking noise. Now the noise extends to both front cv joints and the clicking or knocking sound is all the time, every turn now. Spoke to dealer and they said this is a known issue and they are working on it but nothing so far. In addition, the emergency braking system is too sensitive. On a small bump the car emergency braking kicked in and slammed on the brakes for no apparent reason. This happened over 14 times in the first 3 months. Eventually, I had to turn off my collision braking. Several times I thought the car tires exploded. Dangerous as I do not have control of brakes, steering, etc... everytime this happens.

Steering -- I leased my Honda Prologue 2024. from very first week I started hearing that some squeaking sound from my wheels but later I realized that squeaking/ cracking noise is coming from Steering. I took my car to the Honda repair center they accepted the problem and compare with other Honda Prologue same model. They kept my car for around 4 -5 days and finally said as they don't have expert mechanics and they also consult with main honda company even they don't know but you can still drive as it is not dangerous. there is no solution as of now. They made me sign the document before I took my car back. Now, I am driving my car but have some doubt back of my head, anything serious can happen and it is annoying when I park my car. As my car is on lease, they are not cancelling my lease or replacing my car.

I leased this car on March 2025 from the second day of having this car every time I make a sharp left or right turns it makes knocking noise, it seems like is something do with the CV joints. This issue seems to be affecting many of other prologue owners

Everything I turn the steering wheel, rather it’s to the left or right, there are clicking noises coming from the area of the wheel well. My dealership states there’s no fix to the issue, but it’s louder and louder by the day.

When turning left from a stop, there is a clicking sound that is coming from the front left wheel area. I don't know if this is safety risk. I have not had a dealer inspection yet. There are no warning lights or messages in the car relating to this problem. It has happened several times. I first heard it at about 350 miles. The car now has about 700 miles. I have heard the noise at least 4 times.

Axle or CV joint makes excessive clicking noise when turning right. Delaer has confirmed the issue. Parts have been backordered and no resolution for 2.5 months. Note, this problem appears to be reported by many other 2024 Prologue owners on the web.

I noticed a clicking sound whenever I made a turn, whether it was left or right. I reported the issue to Honda’s service department, and they were able to reproduce the problem. Initially, I was informed that the required parts were on back order. However, I recently received a call informing me that the parts were now available. I brought the vehicle in for the replacement, but when I picked it up, I was told that the problem had not been resolved.

I have two problems: 1. When I steer full left or right and move forward, I have clicking noise coming from the front. 2. Usually when I push break, my car gets into emergency brake .I guess the sensors are too sensitive and it gets into emergency break and stop the car without no reason.

Vehicle Drive Shaft makes clicking noise at the CV Joint and motion irregularities/bumps on turns over flat surfaces, much worse over wider turns at any speed. Vehicle part is backordered due to nationwide shortage caused by vehicle defect on numerous 2024 Honda Prologues. There are no codes on dashboards to otherwise diagnose or indicate problems. Honda service has looked at vehicle and stated noise is caused by the CV joint for the drive shaft, although vehicle also demonstrates sharp bumps/jumps briefly when issue arises even on flat paved surfaces. Still says to drive due to backordered parts with no resolution. Vehicle had less than 1200 miles on it when problem arose, and clicking/booming, whiplash on turns, and rough+noticeable bumps have only increased since during drives.

My 2024 Prologue with approximately 3,000 miles has a clunking sound in front of car and noticeable jerk on acceleration. It developed with 1300 miles and was "repaired" by dealer, who claimed it was a loose battery mount. Problem returned within 1000 miles and is getting worse. Dealer now says it is right front axle and part is on backorder. Fundamental safety part crucial to control for car. If the axle is a problem it is a fundamental and incredibly important part that has been in development since approximately 100,000 BC. There should not be an axle problem with a brand new car.

He further explained that the only way to permanently address this issue would be for Honda to issue a recall for the faulty component. Given that this problem concerns a critical safety feature of the vehicle, I am extremely concerned about driving a vehicle that may be unsafe. This is particularly troubling, as I purchased the vehicle brand new and have taken no action to cause this issue. The prospect of continuing to drive a vehicle with a component integral to both the safety and daily operation of the car is unacceptable. I would greatly appreciate your urgent attention to this matter and would like to explore any potential solutions that may be available in the interim. My primary concern is ensuring the safety of both myself and others on the road.

Car has 20 miles on it brand new cracking sound when turning left and right on steering wheel and front tires

There is a loud clicking noise that comes from the front wheels when making a normal accelerated right or left turn. It’s most noticeable when the car has been sitting the cold for a while. Honda says they are aware of the problem but it is not clear if they know how to fix it. Other Prologue owners have been having their axles replaced under warranty.

Vehicle makes clicking noise went to dealer many times no answer till they decide to change front right axe noise went down 70% but the noise is coming back up 2 weeks after repair. Is a new car. Clicking sound coming from be front wheels when turning

A knocking or clicking sound occurs when the vehicle is changing direction; for example, when stopped at a corner and turning either left or right, oftentimes at low speed. This same clicking or knocking sound appears to come from the front (I am assuming at the axle) began appearing sometime in late December 2024. I did not know it was a problem experienced by other Honda Prolgoue owners until I watched a video on YouTube. I have made an appointment with the dealer, who said there is a charge to diagnose this problem on a car I bought in November 2024 at that dealership.

When making turn left or right there is a noticeable cracking, ticking, knocking noise coming from suspension, sometimes it feels that i am about to loose the control of the steering. Went to Honda Dealership where I purchased the vehicle located at 35 Magee Ave, Stamford, CT 06902 they diagnosed the vehicle and confirmed that there was a noise due to faulty CV Axle Joint, however refused to fix it, they stated there are no recalls for this models and stated that the it is the vehicle characteristics. For me it raises serious safety issue, I can lose the control of steering whenever I am turning and cause fatal results. Please take this issue in consideration and review carefully.

When I turn from stop or an uneven piece of road, I can hear a knocking noise come from my car. I know that other Honda Prologue owners have experienced the same issue.

I bought Prologue ELITE AWD on January 31st 2025 and drove 1000 miles. The steering is very stiff and makes squeaking noise while parking and turning. This sound is audible while the car is going slow; however, when the car speed is above 20 mph we may not hear, but my guess is it still there. If this fails during sharp turns, there is chance of damaging my own car and even other cars putting others and myself into safety risk. There are no warning lamps and messages. The problem first appeared after 5-7 days after the purchase; however, I thought the car is new and being adjusted for the ride with the huge 21 inch tires it has. Additionally, the car has problem with suspension, after a ride and when placing it in park mode, the suspension of the car swings enabling the car to move forward and backward possibly hitting the car infront or back damaging the other cars too.

The car has a very loud knocking noise when you turn left or right drop it off at the dealer today they didn’t want to look at it they said it was normal that there was nothing we can do freeway honda of Santa Ana Ca. When accelerating into a turn from a complete stop, left turn or right turn, there is a knocking sound coming from the cv joint. Vehicle made this sound when driving off the lot brand new. Vehicle also experienced a battery fault error/reduced propulsion warning at 700 miles and is currently at the dealer to investigate. The error alternates with the battery fault light indicating a fault with the high voltage battery and the propulsion power is limited light. This error occurred after preconditioning at 30% battery charge in 32 degree weather. The vehicle warmed up the interior but displayed the message as soon as I put the car into reverse gear. Both of these issues are safety issues in potential loss of steering and loss of propulsion power on the road.

Issues with the Steering and loss of steering could cause an accident while pulling out of a driveway or making a turn. The vehicle has not been inspected for this issue. There were no warning lamps or messages for this issue. Body: The Trunk door has been opening without personal operation. When getting into the vehicle notification will be given that the trunk is open. Upon attempting to close the door it is stuck in a half open half closed position that will not let it lock back in. This is dangerous as the door opening without intention could cause an accident, could cause items in the back of the car to fall out while in motion, or could cause additional damage to the car itself. The car is currently at the dealer being reviewed.

Within a few hundred miles of owning, the CV joint started clicking. Dealer says they can't even locate the part. Told me to keep driving it, but it seems unsafe. Problem seems to be getting more severe and dealer still has no eta on the part to fix the problem. Concerned that CV joint will fail while driving - but dealer keeps saying it's fine.

There is a loud knocking or banging sound when making sharp turns. Particularly a turn of 90 degrees or sharper. It sounds almost like something under the car coming from the wheels area. It goes away as you release the steering and straighten back out. But it is loud enough that I am thinking of going back to the dealership to get it checked out.

The vehicle continues to function normally aside from the clicking noise when turning. No other symptoms or mechanical issues have been noticed. When It First Appeared: The clicking noise first appeared around 1000 miles ago. As of now, the vehicle has accumulated approximately 5000 miles.

I have a brand new Honda Prologue Elite that, within 500 miles of leasing it, has a loud knocking noise on both the front left and front right sides whenever I make a hard left or right turn. It sounds like a loud knocking/creaking noise and I usually hear it three times during a turn. It can be heard over a moderate volume radio. The sound has been replicated by a service technician at the dealership, who thought they corrected it (found a loose bolt under the panel under the passenger seat!) but they did not fix the actual problem and it continues. The sound remains and seems to be getting louder. I am increasingly concerned about what happens if the noise continues to get louder and the part(s) eventually fails - and where the car will go if that happens. This has happened on repeat occasions from 30-55 mph (though usually starting from a stop, like being at a light waiting for my chance to turn left).

The crack has extended more than half way across and Honda claims that windshield is not available and in back order. I have made multiple claims to my ins to have it replaced as well as to Honda and I am getting nowhere. This poses a safety issue and needs to be rectified immediately. Not having replacement windshield available is zero excuses. 2nd: While steering to either right or left, the axile makes a subtle clicking sound intermittently. Safety issue 1 Automatic collision breaking is too sensitive when going in reverse. The vehicle locked up the brakes several times when I was trying to reverse causing myself and my family‘s heads to snap back suddenly. Safety issue 2 -knocking sound coming from the CV joint when backing up and turning at the same time. This usually happens when it’s cold outside. This is a safety issue because if the CV joint fails, this could cause loss of control of the vehicle while driving.

Whenever it gets cold, the car will being to experience brake systems failure, it was suddenly only go 62MPH. On this particular occasion, the car died in the middle of the street, thus blocking the street and causing a police response. Contacted Honda Support and they advised it would be up to 2 hours to get it towed out of there. Police called their own tow truck, the tow trucks had issues with it not going into Transport Mode and stuck parking break. It was brought to the dealer for repair. I believe the car is not safe because there has been several failures of this nature during the cold and other general system failures that appear to be computer related. More than likely police information item is on file.

On a cold day the vehicle's baking system failed. It was would not move more than 62MPH and would not function. When dealer was contacted no assistance was given until Honda Corporation got involved. The problem cleared up on its own and I was advised that it should be fine at this point.

When I take sharp turns the passenger side has a loud clicking sound. It's concerning after less than 600 miles there is a loud clicking sound.

There is clicking in what I believe are the CV axles while turning left and right. The heat does not work in the blistering cold which causes loss of visibility since the defrost won’t work. They did not document that I said CV joints, but did write down that there was a clicking noise. They kept my vehicle for three days, said they contacted Honda, replaced the axel using an axel from another new car on the lot, and the same noise was there. They said that it was not a safety issue, and that they would notify me when a fix was available.

After about 6000 miles, there has been a consistent clicking sound when I turn the wheel that I understand is a faulty CT joint.

Front axels produce loud clicking and popping noises when turning sharper in both the left and right directions. This first started at 2,500 miles and seems to be getting progressively worse. Vehicle now has 3,500 miles on it. Sound is heard in both forward and reverse. Parking collision activates regularly when backing out of the garage. It aggressively stops the vehicle and will not allow it to move even though there is no obstruction. Emergency braking aggressively activated one time for an unknown reason.

When pulling out of the driveway or parking spot and turning sharply to the left or right a clicking sound presumably from the CV joint can be heard. It has not been confirmed by the dealer, the vehicle is in the service department at leadcar honda due to “service high voltage system” and “unable to charge” messages. There has been a knocking sound over the past 3-to 4 weeks when making a left turn. Sterring does not return to center when coming out of a turn. This is a MAJOR safety issue. I could be forced off the road or worse, into another vehicle or pedestrian if I am not quick to force the car to straighten out. Has not been inspected. The car just emergency brakes for no reason. This is an issue because what it decides to break one day while another car is near by or I am on the highway. Also, there is a cv joint clicking issue and there was a red car with a ! That popped up too, when I took it to the dealership they were no help.

The steering doesn't return to the center after a hard turn. This requires me to manually return the steering to a neutral forward setup. Additionally, when it's rainy, the emergency rear braking is overly sensitive and will randomly activate.

About two weeks into having my Honda prologue. I started noticing a clicking sound. Every time I took sharp sharp turns my steering wheel is not centered. I took it to the dealer, thinking that it was a wheel misalignment. They told me that the alignment was in perfect shape I the steering wheel is still not Centered. when I drive. but dealer said they found no issues.... The rear crossing warning detects a person a lot of times even when there is no person behind the vehicle, it makes a sudden stops. I have gotten whiplash because of how hard the breaking system abruptly stops.
