Multi purpose camera behind front mirror failed. Most safety systems will not work. Various warnings regarding system failure were noted on dash. Supposedly a bad battery installed and warranted by dealer caused this problem? Dealer covered the battery but charged $2100.00 to replace the camera!

My Honda 2020 ridgeline has intermittent faults on the dash monitor, it displays ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation, High beam, lane departure warnings, and sometimes transmission problem. I am told it is the muti cable assembly sensor on the front window not communicating with the other sensors. I took my car to auto zone and they stated no communication, due to a bad battery. I replaced the battery, and it still has the multiple errors/ fault codes. During research several people have had this problem with Honda vehicles. At times it goes away for a day or two and then comes back with the same faults. It seems like a faulty part. The dealer wants 1800 for repair and calibration of sensors, this was after they ran a diagnostic test and found no engine faults/codes.

Since buying this vehicle new, on multiple occasions the automatic braking system has come on approaching other vehicles on a straight stretch of highway even when both I and the approaching vehicle are nowhere near the center line or anywhere near an accident situation. I reported this to the dealership in the first six months after purchase and was told nothing was wrong. The frequency of this happening seems to be increasing.

While driving on the highway truck pressed brakes without any obstacles near or in front of me. This event has happened more than once as of late.

Problem started without warning. A couple of days ago all of these are disabled, warning lights scroll through on dash: ACC problem, Collision Mitigation Problem, Lake Keep Assist Problem, Auto High Beam Problem. It cleared once after restarting and once after service mechanic cleared codes. Issue returned the next day and continues. Built in safety features are not working. Deciding on having Honda dealer check it out.

I experienced multiple warning lights on my dash when disengaging my cruise control on the freeway to pass a slower vehicle in front of me. Attached photo depicts these lights and a loss of dash gauges. I arranged a vehicle inspection from the purchasing dealer the next day, but later the entire dash “blacked out” losing speedometer, tachometer, turn signals, back-up camera etc. Given the uncertainty of the safe driving condition of the vehicle I opted to have a closer authorized dealer inspect the vehicle. The consensus was that there was a failure of the dash panel resulting in a $1600.00 repair. Learning that this exact failure was known to American Honda Motor Co., Inc. I reached out to their customer service since like year(s) models of the Passport, Pilot & Odyssey were part of an official warranty recall (along with extended warranty coverage) by American Honda Motor Co., Inc. to see if any goodwill assistance would be provided, given what I’m sure are shared components between the three models. Honda declined. In all transparency, I am a retired AHM employee who services my own vehicles, so their decline, I’m told was partially based on the lack of an official service history. The failure that I have described is totally unrelated to scheduled service. In closing, I am attaching a “screenshot” for a Honda Pilot Owners blog which goes into greater detail of the exact failure I experienced, described as inappropriate software programming. Again, these items in the Recall cited FMV SS101 & FMV SS111 as being key reasons for the issuance of the recall. Why the 2020 Honda Ridgeline which experienced this exact failure was excluded is a question that Honda should answer. Thank you.

My vehicle was driving 35MPH westbound on a 4 lane road (2 lanes easbound, 2 lanes westbound, no divider separating) a vehicle also traveling westbound, NOT in my lane, turned off the road. The Emergency braking system activated, bringing my vehicle to a full stop with no warning. There was NO traffic in front of me for a considerable distance (1/4 mile, approximately) No damage or impact, cars behind me stopped with 1-2 feet to spare.

Since new vehicle''s Forward Collision warning stating "BRAKE" will occasionally appear for oncoming traffic. Vehicle has attempted to brake as well. There is no fix from Honda Motor Co. Vehicle also has an issue with automatic high beams (which has no current fix) which has been filed separately.

Several times over the past two months, I started having issues with the auto engine idle stop. I'm at about 25,000 miles and my vehicle has completely stalled out 4 times in two months. This is due to a failure of the auto engine idle stop system to restart the engine after I take my foot off the brake pedal. This has put my safety and others at risk in all of these incidents, all happened in busy, high traffic areas. In one instance it took a full minute to be able to turn my car back on. One time it triggered the collision system, and I couldn't restart my car for several minutes. After looking up this issue, I know there is an ongoing NHTSA investigation into the Honda Pilot models, but this needs to be expanded to the Ridge line models.

1st time we were driving on a mountain highway at 70 mph, when the truck self applied the brakes and we were nearly rear ended by another truck, there was no vehicle directly in front of our car to cause this to happen. I took the truck to the dealer as soon as we returned home, they found nothing wrong! A few weeks later this happened again for no apparent reason however thus time no other car was near enough to cause a incident. I returned the truck to Honda Service after 1st calling Honda USA and having them document our concerns. Once more they could offer no reason or correction. This continues to randomly happen to thus day. I have 2 service documents to back up both times I returned to the dealer.

Like other Honda models being investigated, this 2020 Ridgeline also applies the automatic braking system with on vehicle directly ahead (nearest vehicle is 2 lanes over). The date below is today, but events were in the past

ON 12 OR MORE OCCASIONS THE TRUCK BRAKED FOR NO REASON. NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. IT'S BEEN TO THE SHOP 3 TIMES FOR THIS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT HONDA HAS SEVERAL LAW SUITES ON THEIR CMBS SYSTEM GOING BACK TO 2015. SO WHY HAVE THEY BEEN ALOUD TO KEEP THIS SYSTEM IN CARS AND TRUCKS.
