I WAS DRIVING HOME AFTER WORK AND IT STARTED TO RAN. I TURNED ON MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND THEY WORKED FOR A SHORT TIME THEN JUST STOPPED. I TURNED OFF THE WIPERS AND TRIED TO GET THEM TO RESTART, BUT NOTHING HAPPENED SO I TURNED THEM OFF. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, THEY CAME BACK ON AT HIGH SPEED AND I COULDN'T TURN THEM OFF ; THE WASHER FLUID STARTED SHOOTING OUT MASSIVELY UNTIL IT WAS RESERVE WAS EMPTY. MY WIPERS STAY ON CONSTANTLY AND ONLY TURN OFF WHEN I TURN THE CAR OFF. THE DEALERSHIP (VERA HUMMER IN PEMBROKE PINES FL )STATES THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE COVER BUT THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE MOTOR, I AM RESPONSIBLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE ACTIVATED YET SHE WAS UNABLE TO DEACTIVATE THEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN ATTEMPTING TO DEACTIVATE THE WIPERS. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE WIPER MODULE WAS REPLACED BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT WENT BACK TO THE REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE WITHIN THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH DUE TO EXCESSIVE MOISTURE. THE CONTACT INQUIRED WITH THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT AN UNKNOWN RECALL HOWEVER, SHE WAS UNABLE TO CONFIRM IF HER VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

ON JANUARY 21, 2010, DURING HEAVY RAINS, IT FAILED AGAIN. I LOOKED UP THE MODULE ON THE INTERNET TO FIND OUT THAT IN 2008, 2003 HUMMERS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS VERY REASON. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT WITHIN THOSE RECALLED. I SAW POSTS REGARDING THE FAILURE OF THIS MODULE ON MANY OTHER YEARS. I CONTACTED GMC, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE MODULE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THEY ONLY RECALL MODELS WHEN THE NHTSA FORCES THEM TO, AND THEY DO NOT VOLUNTEER ANY RECALL. WIPER COVER RECALL NOTICE 08243. TOOK VEHICLE IN, WIPERS HAD ALREADY STOPPED WORKING. TOLD CREST CADILLAC THIS WHEN I CALLED. THEY REPLACED THE COVER ON A MOTOR THAT WAS BROKEN ALREADY. WOULD NOT REPLACE THE MOTOR. NOTE ON INSPECTION REPORT SAID WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. CALLED GM SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS TO RECALL WAS FOR MOTOR COVER AND NOT MOTOR. NEED TO REPLACE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR MODULE. IT QUIT WORKING AND WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO REPLACE PART SINCE SEPT 2008. GM INFORMED ME THEY DO NOT CURRENTLY MAKE THIS PART. I FEEL IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO ICE/FROST AND OR CONDENSATION FORMING ON THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOWS DUE TO THE COLD WEATHER HERE. IT MAKES VISIBILITY SLIM TO NONE. I HAVE A SEVERE RATTLE COMING FROM MY SUNROOF AND SUNROOF REFLECTOR AND THE SUNROOF DOES NOT OPERATE TO THE OPEN POSITION BUT WILL VENT OPEN BUT WHEN IT IS IN THE CLOSED POSITION IT RATTLES AND SHAKES LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO FLY OFF AND I AM VERY WORRIED THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. I ALSO SEEM TO HAVE A "CAR-POOL" EVERY TIME IT RAINS BECAUSE IT LEAKS BADLY EVEN WHEN ITS BEING WASHED OR IN A LIGHT SHOWER. THERE IS ALOT OF WATER DAMAGE ON THE HEADLINER AND WATER STAINS AS WELL. WE PURCHASED OUR 2003 HUMMER H2 IN MARCH 2008 AND AS WE TEST DROVE THE HUMMER (FULLY LOADED) WE CHECKED ALL THE SPECS EVERYTHING WAS WORKING WELL AND 1 OR 2 DAYS LATER WE WENT TO TRY AND OPEN THE SUNROOF AND IT WOULD NOT OPEN, AND WE HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN IT IS RAINING HEAVY OR LIGHT THAT OUR HEADLINER HAS WATER STAINS AND IS WET RIGHT AFTER IT RAINS. WE ARE ALSO HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE SUNROOF (FULLY CLOSED) WILL SHAKE & RATTLE AND IT FEELS LIKE AT ANY MOMENT THAT IT COULD COMPLETELY FLY OFF AND CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR EVEN A FATAL ONE DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE SUNROOF GLASS. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS ON AUTO FORUMS ONLINE, WITH THIS EXACT SAME ISSUES THAT WE ARE HAVING. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE BUT TO THE FACT THAT IF IT FLIES OFF AND IT DOESN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, THAT IT COULD GO THROUGH THE VEHICLE'S WINDSHIELD DIRECTLY BEHIND US. I THINK THAT THIS SHOULD BE A TOP PRIORITY RECALL DUE TO IT BEING A MANUFACTURE FAULTY INSTALL AND THE OTHER 2003 HUMMER H2 OWNERS COMPLAINTS SAY THAT WHEN THEY TOOK THEIR HUMMER TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY WERE TOLD IT WAS A MANUFACTURE FAULTY INSTALL AND WERE STILL CHARGE LARGE SUMS OF MONEY TO FIX A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM . I THINK THAT THE HUMMER/GM MANUFACTURE SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE, AND PAY FOR ALL COSTS & DAMAGE TO THE HEADLINER & THE FAULTY SUNROOF RATTLE . DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER MOTOR FAILED. WHEN THE PROBLEM FIRST STARTED THE WIPERS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY, NOW SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THEY ONLY WORK A FEW SECONDS AT A TIME. THERE IS A NHTSA RECALL, # 02V283000, REGARDING THE WINDSHIELD WIPER/ WASHER: MOTOR. THE VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS AS INDICATED IN THE RECALL; HOWEVER IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN.

ANY TIME IT RAINS THE VEHICLE FILLS UP WITH WATER. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE SUN ROOF, THE GASKET IN THE DRIVERS DOOR, AND THE CARGO HATCH. THE ELECTRIC DRIVERS SEAT MOVES UP AUTOMATICALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF CAUSING THE DRIVER TO BE CRUSHED AGAINST THE DASH BOARD. THE CONSUMER FEELS THAT THE HOOD IS TOO HEAVY AND THAT THERE IS NO SUPPORT BAR TO HOLD IT UP. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVEN TIMES SINCE THE CONSUMER PURCHASED IT. *MR

I OWN A 2003 HUMMER H2. THIS IS THE SECOND WINTER WITH THIS CAR AND THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED EVERYTIME I DRIVE IN SNOW. I CLEANED THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD INCLUDING SNOW AND ICE UNDER THE WIPERS, I WARM UP THE CAR PROPERLY, I TURN THE DEFROST ON (LAST NIGHT IT WAS SET AT 80 DEGREES)/ WITHIN A FEW MILES THE WIPERS ARE INEFFECTIVE BECAUSE A LAYER OF ICE AND SNOW HAS ACCUMULATED BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE WIPER BLADES. VISIBILITY---ZERO. *LA
