Yesterday I turned off the alarm and unlocked the doors via the keypad. I opened the driver door and my wife opened the passenger rear door and the Hummer H2 started. No key in the ignition and the fob does not have a start button. I then got in the car and inserted the key and turned the key to ON then to off and the vehicle would not shut off. Only after cycling through the gears was I able to shut off the vehicle. I have now disconnected the battery to prevent another unwanted start.

I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY HUMMER 2004. THE LOCK LIGHT COMES ON AND MY HUMMER WILL NOT START. THIS IS SO HORRIBLE THE PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. EVERYTIME THAT LIGHT COMES ON I HAVE TO WAITE 15TO 25 MINUTES FOR IT TO START AGAIN.

AS I WAS DRIVING ON I 5 IN OREGON I EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND BRAKE SYSTEMS. THE VEHICLE WAS ON CRUISE CONTROL AND WHEN I DISENGAGED IT ALL OF THE SAFETY WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND THEY WERE A COMPLETE FAILURE ALSO. AT THIS TIME THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS AND CONTROLS WENT OFF AND I LOSS POWER. I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I GOT MY DAUGHTER OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO A SAFE DISTANCE AND OPENED THE HOOD AND THE MAIN FUSE RELAY PANEL WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FIRE. I CALLED 911. IN THE APPROX. 5 MIN. THE TIME THE FIRE TRUCK ARRIVED THE TRUCK WAS CONSUMED AND FULLY GUTTED OUT FROM THE FIRE.

I HAVE A 2004 HUMMER H2, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL MALFUNCTIONS.. FUEL GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER, OIL GAUGES .KEYLESS ENTRY WILL NOT WORK,ETC. REDUCED ENGINE POWER MESSAGE APPEARS AND VEHICLE AUTOMATICALLY SLOWLY REDUCING SPEED TO 15 MILES PER HR WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED. AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT SHUT OFF. THESE ISSUES ARE A SAFETY HAZARD AND I WOULD APPRECIATE ASSITANCE AND RESULUTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 75,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. .
I FEEL THAT THIS KEY PROBLEM FALLING OUT OF THE IGNITION, KEY WILL NOT TURN ON OR OFF MAKING IT HARD TO CONTROL WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE IGNITION AND CAUSING IT NOT TO START. I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON A 2003 ISUZU ASCENDER. ALSO THE "DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER" HAS QUIT WORKING RIGHT WHICH CONTROLS A LOT OF THINGS ON THE VEHICLE. I THINK IT IS A DEFECTIVE SWITCH FROM GM WHO ALSO BUILT MY 2003 ISUZU. *TR

1. VOLTAGE METER ERRATIC 2. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, WIPERS STOPPED AND REMAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD. 3. DASHBOARD INSTRUMENT PANEL REMAINED ON WITH BATTERY LIGHT AND RADIO AFTER SWITCHING OFF AND LOCKING VEHICLE. IT WAS NECESSARY TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO DISABLE THIS CONDITION. ON MORNING OF 5/17/2012, WE RECONNECTED THE BATTERY AND VOLTAGE METER AND INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NORMAL. WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE STILL INOPERABLE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED AS HE PARKED THE VEHICLE. CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SPEEDOMETER PROVIDED A READING OF 80 MPH INSTEAD OF 0. ON OCCASIONS, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULD RETURN TO NORMAL BUT WOULD MAINLY READ BETWEEN 80-100 MPH ERRONEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT A MOTOR IN THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED NOR WAS THE MANUFACTURER CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

I OWN A 2004 HUMMER H2. IT CURRENTLY HAS 50K MILES ON IT AND HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND WELL MAINTAINED SINCE I PURCHASED IT. RECENTLY, WHILE DRIVING I NOTED THAT MY SPEEDOMETER SEEMED TO BE INACCURATE. I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, YET CARS WERE FLYING AROUND ME AND CUTTING ME OFF. I LOOKED AT MY SPEEDOMETER AGAIN AND IT READ "65" SO I CONTINUED ABOUT MY BUSINESS WHILE OTHER MOTORISTS WERE STILL PASSING ME BY AND CUTTING ME OFF. WHEN I GOT HOME AND PULLED THE H2 INTO THE GARAGE, I REALIZED THE SPEEDOMETER WAS STILL READING "65" AND I WAS PARKED. I CONTACTED HUMMER AND GM WHO BOTH INFORMED ME IT IS THE STEPPER MOTOR AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO STATED THAT IT IS A PROBLEM IN 2003-2004 GM PRODUCTS AND THAT THERE IS A RECALL BUT NOT FOR THE HUMMER. I ASKED WHY ALL THE OTHER GM PRODUCTS WERE COVERED AND NOT MINE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY JUST DON'T FIX ENOUGH OF THEM SO THERE IS NO RECALL. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN THAT THIS IS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ITEM AND THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. GM OBVIOUSLY FELT IT WAS ENOUGH OF A CONCERN TO RECALL ITS OTHER GMC SUV'S THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT HUMMER TOLD ME THAT HE FIXES ABOUT ONE A WEEK AT THE COST OF $500-$700.00. IF THAT MANY HUMMERS ARE BEING REPAIRED, WHY THE PREJUDICE AGAINST THIS GM PRODUCT FOR THE RECALL. I GUESS THEY FIGURE IF YOU OWN A HUMMER, THEN YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT TO GET REPAIRED. I BEG TO DIFFER. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND IN DOING MY RESEARCH ON OTHER HUMMER H2'S FROM 2003-2004, IT IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE STEEPER MOTOR. THE SERVICE MANAGER ACTUALLY RECOMMENDED TO ME THAT I CAN "STILL DRIVE IT". I HAVE 4 CHILDREN AND DRIVING IT UNDER THESE CONDITIONS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, NOR IS RISKING OUR LIVES, BUT THEN AGAIN, I AM CERTAIN IF SOMEONE DIED AS A RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM, GM WOULD ADDRESS IT AND RECALL THE DEFECT. THE GM PRODUCT LINE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED USES THE SAME EXACT PART THAT THE HUMMER H2 DOES SO WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED! *TR
