The contact owns a 2008 Hummer H3. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V421000 (Visibility); however, the dealer refused to perform the recall repair due to the age of the vehicle. The contact stated that the dealer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the blower motor had become inoperable. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HUMMER H3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RAIN ENTERED THE VEHICLE FROM THE SUN ROOF. UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE, WATER WAS DISCOVERED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARD AS WELL AS ON THE REAR DRIVER' SIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER ENTERED THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A CLOGGED DRAIN TUBING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CLEARED THE CLOGGED DRAIN TUBING HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. 2008 HUMMER H3. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR CONNECTOR RECALL REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SHE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE SIX DAYS AFTER THE AC WENT OUT IN HER VEHICLE. BEFORE RECEIVING THE NOTICE, THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP ON AUGUST 5, 2015 BECAUSE THE AC WAS NOT BLOWING OUT ANY AIR. THE REPAIR SHOP REPLACED THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR FOR THE AMOUNT OF $ 233.66. THE FIRST COURSE OF ACTION WAS TO REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR CONNECTOR WITH THE HOPES THE BLOWER RESISTOR CONNECTOR HADN'T BURNED. HOWEVER, IT WAS DISCOVERED THE CONNECTOR HAD INDEED BURNED. WHEN THE CONSUMER WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CONNECTOR,THE COST TO REPLACE IT WAS $ 248.64. WHEN THE CONSUMER RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE, SHE CALLED THE DEALER. HOWEVER, SHE WAS INFORMED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V421000 (VISIBILITY); HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HUMMER H3. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATING SYSTEM WOULD INDEPENDENTLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR AND THE WIRE HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AC COULD NOT BE CHARGED AND THE RADIATOR THE AC ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER A MONTH LATER THEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OVER HEAT AND FAIL TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO, STATED THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR EMITTING FROM THE AC VENTILATION SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN AGAIN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THE WIRE HARNESS WAS MELTED AS A RESULT THE BLOWER MOTOR AND WIRE HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V421000 (VISIBILITY). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT YET DETERMINE A SOLUTION FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,851.

THE CONNECTOR MODULE THAT CONTROLS THE BLOWER MOTOR SPEED IN THE HEAT/VENT/AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) SYSTEM MAY OVERHEAT UNDER EXTENDED OPERATIONAL PERIODS AT HIGH MEDIUM-HIGH BLOWER SPEEDS. IF THIS CONDITION OCCURS, THERE THE RISK THAT THE HEAT GENERATED COULD MELT THE PLASTIC SURROUNDING THE CONNECTOR MODULE, WHICH INCREASES THE RISK OF A FIRE. OURS HAS BEEN MISSED UP FOR 2 MONTHS. AS MANY HAVE EXPLAINED BEFORE, MY BLOWER MOTOR ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT OUT I STARTED TO READ ONLINE WHAT IT MIGHT BE AND FOUND THAT EVERYONE COMPLAINED OF RESISTOR HARNESS WIRE BURNING OUT OR THE PLASTIC MELTING. AND JUST AS EVERYONE SAID I PULLED OUT THE HARNESS AND IT WAS BURN COMPLETELY OUT. GM THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, HOW MANY PEOPLE NEED COMPLAIN, OR SOMETHING POSSIBLY HAPPEN TO SOMEONE BEFORE YOUR COMPANY TAKES ACTION, WITH ALL THE RECALLS GOING ON WITH YOUR COMPANY YOU WOULD THINK YOU GUYS WOULD LEARN. *TR

I HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS HUNDREDS OF OTHERS WITH GM'S FAULTY BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR. THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR AND WIRING HARNESS HAVE FAILED 2 TIMES NOW. MELTING TO EACH OTHER. LUCKILY NO FIRE, YET. THESE ARE EXPENSIVE VEHICLES, AND GM SHOULD OWN UP TO THE DESIGN FLAW AND ISSUE A RECALL, AND OR OFFER A REPAIR KIT THAT TRULY FIXES THE FLAW THAT OWNERS CAN INSTALL AS THE LOCATION IS FAIRLY EASY TO GET TO AND WORK ON IT. THE PURCHASERS OF THESE VEHICLES SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS QUALITY FLAW, AND RISK THEMSELVES, FAMILY AND FRIENDS. GM - DO THE RIGHT THING AND AVOID MAJOR LAWSUITS. *TR

I CHECKED MINE AND SURE ENOUGH MINE WAS BURNT ON THE WIRING HARNESS ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE PLASTIC. GM NEEDS TO FIGURE OUT WHY IT WOULD CAUSE IT TO MALFUNCTION LIKE THAT CAUSE IT COULD CAUSE A FIRE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HUMMER H3. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD HAD SPOTS AND BUBBLES WHICH DOESN'T ALLOW THE CONTACT TO SEE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD CLEARLY. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT WAS CRACKED ALONG THE BASE OF THE SEAT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RUST SPOTS COMPLETELY COVERED THE EXTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE.
