IN THE CASE OF AIR BAG, I WAS HIT BY A F350 PICKUP AT 40 MILES PH AND THE BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, BUT THE LIGHT CAME AND IT WILL NOT GO OFF. CALLED HYUNDAI DEALER AND THEY SAID MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR THE RECALL. IN THE CASE OF THE GAS PROBLEM, THE SMELL OF GAS PERMIATES THROUGH OUT THE CAR WITH NO LOGICAL EXPLANATION. IN THE CASE OF THE WIRING FAILURE, IT WAS THE WIRING HARNESS WHICH CAUGHT ON FIRE AND WAS TO BE REPLACED AT MY COST , WHICH WAS DONE BY RICK CASE MAZDA IN 1999.*AK
THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, AND WITH NO PRIOR WARNING SAW FLAMES SHOOTING UP THOUGH THE HOOD AREA. CONSUMER PULLED OVER IMMEDIATELY, AND NOTIFIED THE POLICE. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP.*AK
A DEFECTIVE GENERATOR/ALTERNATOR CAUSED BATTERY TO BLOW UP, RESULTING IN WIRING HARNESS MELTING. THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE. ALSO TWO COMPUTERS BLEW UP. *AK

ENGINE FAILURE RENDERS VEHICLE UNSERVICEABLE/UNUSABLE
SINCE NOVEMBER OF 1997 I HAVE HAD ON GOING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THERE HAS BEEN ONE DEFAULT AFTER ANOTHER. IN NOVEMBER OF 1997 THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED IN JULY OF 1999, SINCE REPACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION THE WATERPUMP, AND TIMING WERE REPLACED, AND THE RADIATOR WAS REPAIRED. NOW THIS NEW PROBLEM HAS AROSE WITH THE ENGINE. ONE OTHER THING NOT MENTIONED BEFORE IS THE CAR STOPS OR SHUTS OFF WITH NO GAGE INDICATION AT ALL.
ALTERNATOR IS EXCEEDING ITS LIMIT, IS OVERCHARGING, WHICH CAUSES BLOW OUT OF OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONTENTS. *AK
HAD TO REPLACE WIRE HARNIST, BATTERY, POSTIVE CABLE, FUSE WIRE ONTOP OF POSTIVE CABLE, WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS . THEY TOLD ME THE FUSE ONTOP OF POSITIVE CABLE HEATED UP AND STARTED THE FIRE
SPARK PLUG ASSEMBLY FAILED DUE TO SHORT IN SYSTEM.
ALTERNATOR ASSEMBLY FAILED CAUSING DAMAGE TO BATTERY.
HORN SHORTED OUT AND FAILED.
MAIN FUSE 60 AMPS AND 3 OTHER SECONDARY FUSES MELTED.IN ADDITION, ALTERNATOR/STARTER RELAY FAILED/1 TOOTH IN FLYWHEEL BROKE AND BATTERY EXPLODED.
