The weather became cold outside. After first frost overnight, an oil leak started underneath the hood next to the front passenger side tire. Got in be serviced 11/19. Told the plastic piece to oil housing assembly cracked and had 9 other palisades in for same exact issue. No warning lamps. Cost $519 to replace part.
The instrument cluster seems to fail more so in the hotter weather. The speedometer, RPMs and gas gauge just stop working altogether. This seems extremely similar to the issues of other Hyundai vehicles that were recalled. The blind spot monitoring turns on and off as it pleases and there is a message that comes up sometimes that say it has been turned off due to electrical failure. The HDMI port in the counsel does not work but half the time so using android auto fails constantly. The radio signal is very poor in the car, resulting in static and high pitched noises on the stations and cannot use regular stations. There also is a huge oil consumption and oil burn smell and leak. This also seems very common for other Hyundai vehicles that have been recalled. Having to put 4-5 quarts in per month and only drive it maybe 1,500 miles in that time frame. There is a pause bumpiness when having to accelerate sometimes as well, followed by failure of oxygen sensor smells and baffles within the muffler seem to often have weird sounds. Have had the vehicle for 1 year and it was bought as a Hyundai certified pre-owned vehicle. It only has about 85K miles on it.
On July fourth, while driving, the vehicle began to shake and make a rattling noise, shifted into park, and the dashboard lights lit up. While attempting to reach the safe side of the road while driving downhill on a busy road, the car lost power. I was able to pull over, restart the car, and reach a safe destination. I took the vehicle to the mechanic, who initially said I needed new tires, so all four tires were replaced. Three days later, the incident with the car shifting and losing power occurred again. The second time, I took it to the Hyundai dealership, which determined that only an oil change was needed, although I had completed regular maintenance on the vehicle. In November, the vehicle began shaking again and lost power while in motion. Again, the vehicle was taken to the Hyundai dealership, which stated that there were possible issues with the oil consumption.
I was driving through town at a low rate of speed (20-30 mph) with 2-3 car lengths between me and the next vehicle. I continued through light to next light. This distance was on an upward incline. After traveling approximately 500 ft, I noticed the traffic slowing in front of me and took my foot off the accelerator to start to slow down. This is when the car suddenly accelerated (instead of slowing down as would be expected when traveling up an incline), picking up speed quickly. The car's response happened so quickly that I was unable to swerve to avoid hitting the car in front of me. I hit the car in front of me that was slowing down at the light which then subsequently hit several other vehicles that were in front of it that were also slowing/stopped for the light. The front airbag deployed as a result of the collision, knocking my glasses off. The vehicle was still continuing in forward motion after the collision….Traffic Crash Report states, “... [witness] went up to Unit 1 [Palisade], and the tires were still spinning…” As I was in shock after the collision, a bystander came up to the vehicle to turn it off and this is when the wheels/forward motion was completely stopped. This Palisade is equipped with Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) system. There was no warning given nor did the vehicle attempt to slow down during the event so I believe that this system failed to operate which contributed to the collision. I also believe that there was a failure with the engine/electrical system, ETC, and/or transmission that caused the system to suddenly accelerate while traveling uphill AFTER I removed my foot from the gas pedal. The vehicle was totaled by my insurance company. They did say that they were sending an engineer to review the Event Data Recorder. I have not seen any results from that nor do I have the vehicle in my possession as it was totaled.
The air compressor on my 2020 Hyundai Palisade with 55,321 miles has completely malfunctioned. The issue was diagnosed by Five Star Hyundai Dealership in Macon, Georgia on 9/26/25 and is currently available for inspection. The repair will cost $1,781. A failed A/C compressor in a 5-year-old vehicle could put my safety or others’ safety at risk due to reduced visibility from poor defrosting, driver impairment from extreme heat, and secondary damage affecting critical systems like steering or electrical power. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to air compressor failure. However, Hyundai has issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) for certain 2020–2022 Palisade vehicles regarding the AC compressor. Bulletin 24-HA-003H: This TSB addresses reduced AC performance due to an "out of specification" AC compressor pulley and hub assembly. Sunroof stuck in partially open position and will not close. This is a known issue with a Technical Service Bulletin: TSB #MC-10235352-0001.
Vehicle Information: Year: 2020 Make: Hyundai Model: Palisade Component(s): Air Conditioning System / A/C Compressor Problem Description: The air conditioning compressor on my 2020 Hyundai Palisade has failed and does not function properly. The A/C system does not blow cold air, making the vehicle extremely uncomfortable and unsafe in hot weather conditions, especially with small children riding in the vehicle. Hyundai has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) regarding a known defect with the A/C compressor in this model. Despite this, the dealership and manufacturer have refused to cover the repair or replacement under warranty or goodwill, even though this is clearly a widespread and acknowledged defect. I was quoted nearly $5,000 for the repair, which I cannot afford. Safety Concern: While the issue may appear to be only comfort-related, lack of functioning A/C creates real safety risks: Heat-related health concerns in hot climates, particularly for small children and elderly passengers. Reduced visibility if the defroster system does not work properly (since the A/C system is needed to remove moisture and fog from windows). Timeline of Events: Vehicle purchased: Purchased December 2023 First noticed issue: [XXX] Brought vehicle to dealership: [XXX] Dealer confirmed issue with A/C compressor but refused repair, citing that only certain VINs or conditions are covered, even though a TSB exists. Request: I am filing this complaint because Hyundai is aware of this widespread A/C compressor defect (per their TSB) but is not providing proper warranty coverage or resolution. This places an unfair financial burden on consumers and presents a potential safety hazard, especially for families with small children who cannot safely ride in extreme heat without a functioning A/C system. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The sunroof wind deflector broke when I simply opened the sunroof, and the sunroof is now stuck in the open position. I wish TSB 23-BD-003H-1 would've included my VIN so I could've addressed this issue prior to it breaking. Now I am faced with a $3400 repair bill from Hyundai. Hyundai said there is no cheaper option to partially fix it to at least get it closed. Other repair shops are referring me to Hyundai to complete the repair.
On [XXX], while driving on the freeway, my 2020 Hyundai Palisade suddenly malfunctioned and went up in flames without warning. My young son was in the vehicle with me. Within moments, smoke and fire spread rapidly, forcing us to stop in traffic and escape before the fire fully engulfed the car. The entire vehicle became a total loss. This was a terrifying, life-threatening situation. My safety and my son’s safety were at extreme risk. If my other family members had been in the car, the outcome could have been catastrophic. The emotional trauma from this event is significant and continues to affect us. The incident was reported to the San Antonio Fire Department, who responded to the scene and documented the fire. Their reports confirm the vehicle fire: Incident Report #[XXX] and SAFD Case #[XXX]. After researching, I discovered that similar fires have been reported in Hyundai vehicles, raising concerns that this is part of a wider safety defect. Families should not have to fear their vehicle spontaneously igniting on the road. At the time of the fire, there were no warning lamps, error messages, or symptoms that suggested the vehicle was unsafe. The failure happened suddenly and without warning. The vehicle has not been inspected by Hyundai at this time, but it is available for inspection upon request. I am urging a full investigation into Hyundai’s design and safety practices, as this fire placed lives in immediate danger. This was not just a mechanical failure—it was a potentially fatal event that could have resulted in severe injury or loss of life.
AC FAILIRE IM SUMMER, just outside warranty but tsb issued. Holler Hyundai Service wants to charge me $350 diagnostic fee to take a look and diagnose. Extreme heat while having to use vehicle to go to work, run errands and transport children. No alternate vehicle is available and dealership is unreasonable to work with. Due to high humidity in Florida windows fog and hard to defog, visibility is impaired suddenly while driving
Went to open the sunroof the back opened a little but would not open all the way and now it won’t shut either. I’ve seen a few other owners say that this happened to them as well.
Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a safety concern regarding my 2020 Hyundai Palisade. Recently, when I attempted to operate the sunroof, it only opened partially and made a crackling sound. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that some of the internal plastic components were breaking apart, and now the sunroof does not close properly. After researching this issue online, I discovered that numerous other owners are experiencing the exact same problem. For reference, here are a couple of user-reported discussions highlighting similar experiences: [XXX] [XXX] Additionally, I came across a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) related to this very issue, which can be found here: [XXX] However, when I checked my vehicle’s VIN, it did not appear to be included in the list of affected models, despite my vehicle exhibiting the same symptoms described in the bulletin. This leads me to believe that the scope of affected VINs may not have been fully identified. Given the number of similar complaints shared by other Hyundai Palisade owners, it appears this may be a more widespread issue than initially recognized. I respectfully request that NHTSA consider investigating this matter further, as it may help protect and support additional Hyundai customers who are dealing with this problem and have not yet been offered a resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Description of Incident: The engine in my 2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited failed and ultimately seized despite having been regularly maintained and receiving an oil change less than 3,000 miles prior to the failure. The component that failed was the engine, and according to the dealership, it is seized and no longer operable. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The failure posed a significant safety risk. The engine began shaking while the vehicle was in motion, creating a sudden loss of power and drivability. I pulled over immediately and discovered that the engine oil dipstick was dry. I added oil right away, but the engine shut down shortly after. The abrupt loss of engine function while driving could have led to a serious accident had I been in traffic or at highway speed. Reproduction / Confirmation: Yes, the issue was confirmed by Hyundai at Courtesy, a certified Hyundai dealership. They diagnosed the engine as seized and also confirmed that oil was present at the time of inspection, ruling out owner neglect. Inspections Conducted: The vehicle and failed component (engine) have been inspected by the dealership, who submitted a case to Hyundai. However, the case was denied for goodwill coverage despite the circumstances. The manufacturer has been notified but has not physically inspected the engine themselves beyond the dealership’s report. Warning Lamps or Symptoms: No Check Engine Light, oil pressure warning, or any dashboard message illuminated prior to or during the failure. The only symptom was engine shaking, which began just before the engine shut down. The oil loss occurred silently and without warning, making the issue especially dangerous and difficult to detect in time.
Oil consumption causing hesitation and near-stalling. Hard shifting as well. These issues led to dangerous situations where I was afraid to drive the vehicle and feared for my family's safety. Also had a failed A/C compressor which i had to replace out of pocket. These things shouldn't be happening on a 4 year old vehicle.
Engine is burning Oil at a rate that requires me to put 2 quarts of full synthetic oil every 2-3 weeks in my car. Hyundai is ignoring this problem and dealership says my engine is burning in a normal range. This is a known issue with these engines at hyundai over the past few years and if it is burning that much oil without any leaks there is no way that is safe.
1. Left-Side Captain Chair: Upon braking or movement slightly --the seat will come unsecured and jolt forward - causing whomever passenger who sits in it to move forward. 2. Tailgate Locking Lever: Trunk no longer opens upon pressing the button on the exterior. Trunk only opens upon utilizing the safely unlocking feature inside the vehicle - for emergencies only. Should not fail after 4 years. 3. Engine Burning Oil: July 2024 refilled oil change - December 2024 - Four (4 ) quarts of oil lost - vehicle is burning oil at unreasonable rates
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine failed, as it was deemed "shot" by the dealership. Yes, the engine and vehicle are available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle began to stall while driving, which could have caused an accident, especially if the vehicle stalled in traffic or at high speeds. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the problem was confirmed by the dealership, which diagnosed the engine as needing replacement due to a lack of oil. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, the vehicle exhibited strange noises in the last week of October 2024 and symptoms of stalling in early November 2024. The check engine light turned on while driving to the dealership, just before the final diagnosis.
While sitting at a stoplight with no moving passing traffic around my vehicle. There was a loud pop/crash sound that came from the roof. I pulled my car into a parking lot and found my sunroof had a large hole in the middle and was shattered. The glass is pushed upwards. My internal shade was closed, which kept glass from falling inside and on me. I was not hit by a foreign object, by all indications the glass spontaneously exploded.
On Friday 6/28/24 I turned my vehicle on to drive to lunch. I put the vehicle in drive and started to move forward out of my parking spot when the following errors flashed on my dashboard in succession: "Check Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist System", "Check Lane Departure Warning (LDW) System", and "Check High Beam Assist System" and then the steering wheel locked while the vehicle was still moving forward. I put the vehicle in park, turned it off, turned it back on and there were no problems. On Saturday 6/29/24, the same series of events happened in the evening when turning the vehicle on from park. On Sunday 6/30/24 I turned the vehicle on in the morning and backed out of my driveway. When I put it in drive and started going down the road the same series of events happened again. This time, it did not resolved when I turned the vehicle off then back on, but happened 7-8 times in succession. The vehicle was not driven all day and when I turned it back on Sunday evening it seemed fine. I drove across town to meet a friend, put the vehicle in park to wait, then in drive (so it had been running for approx 30 minutes) and the issue happened again. On Monday 7/1/24 I had the vehicle towed to the dealership and the issue happened to the tow truck driver as he was getting the vehicle off of the truck. On Friday 7/5/24 I called the dealership and they have "verified my concern" but are not sure why it is happening. I am now waiting to hear back from them on this issue. I have read on an online forum that multiple people have had this same issue with the Palisade.
UNKNOWN The sunroof shattered as we were driving down the interstate. To our knowledge nothing hit the sunroof to make it shatter. We did not see any rocks or debris. This is a safety issue as if we wouldn’t have had the inside shade closed we would have been showered with glass while driving at highway speeds and could have been injured.
Driving along I94 then suddenly heared a popping sound when I checked the sunroof exploded/ shattered to pieces.
My 2020 Hyundai Palisade slipped into neutral while slowing down in traffic. Was able to quickly pull over, brake and put back into drive. Happened 3 more times while slowing down for turns on my way home. All happened under 15 mph and had a slight grinding sound when placed back into park, drive then accelerating. Plan to take it to the Hyundai dealership tomorrow, but scared to drive it!
Due to a recall that Hyundai has not fully resolved, I am unable to use the OEM tow hitch that I paid for when I purchased my car because there is not an updated fuse for the trailer hitch. Hence, trailers won't have lights, making them illegal and unsafe. The Hyundai dealership "resolved" the recall by removing the fuse several months ago, but never replaced it. Furthermore, the dealership never told me that I was unable to use the tow hitch. I was only told that the recall was resolved.
On February 2024, I took the SUV to Lynn's Hyundai for an issue with A front sensor or the braking system - The problem is when you're driving at times very often in the streets, the vehicle will automatically cause the brake sensor to go off the dashboard with light up and the brakes will engage causing the vehicle to jerk hard and or stop at times and I have a huge concern that this may cause a serious accident. I was told by Hyundai service department, that perhaps were driving to close to other vehicles to cause this, but it happened several times when there are no vehicles or objects present. Apparently they had no interest in resolving this matter, they claim that the system test showed no duplication of said issue, vehicle was taken on a road test and they found no issues, The recall were all fixed, and I was called to pick up vehicle. I drove a few and the braking started again, so I pulled over and started recording to see if happens again and I was able to catch some of this problem on video. This has caused my husband to lose control of the vehicle causing him to hit a cone on the road. Your immediate help with this matter would be greatly appreciate.
Trunk strut/ spring plastic broke off making trunk not being able to close properly. Had to manually close trunk due to issue and eventually spring completely broke off and unable to close trunk. Safety hazard because trunk slams without having strut spring which could cause serious damage/injury to person/children if closed on. Read online that issue was happening. Hyundai said no warranty or defect. However have had multiple dealerships say that they have replaced this issue on Palisades.
The following recall has been repaired (see attached): Manufacturer Recall Number 235; NHTSA Recall Number 22V633000 However, the dealership is unable to successfully (continuously fails to) clear the recall for this VIN: [XXX] . Please clear this recall. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Vehicle front and rear suspension has unsafe shock/strut equipment, which causes lack of control while driving, audible noise within the passenger compartment, and rough handling.
Recall 235 was performed incorrectly by a dealership in Tacoma, WA. My Palisade 2020 has an OEM trailer hitch and wiring harness. The dealership completed the inspection in spite of the fact that the instructions say not to when there is an OEM hitch and wiring harness. The Tacoma dealership pulled the trailer fuses and my local dealership in Kirkland WA refused to do the harness replacement. They said Hyundai would refuse to pay for it. I am also trying to get the dealership I purchased the car from three months ago to do the install. But that is in another city. The updated 235 recall is now out with the repair procedure shown and I am having trouble getting dealers to do the harness replacement due to the fact that they say there are 0 recalls left to do for my Palisade. I need your site to show that the replacement recall (just issued) is needed for my car. It is Recall 23-01-044H and is an update of the original 235 recall.
We received a Safety Recall for the Tow Hitch on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. We took the vehicle to the dealership last summer and they removed the fuse and therefore, disabled the towing ability of the vehicle. It has been over 5 months since this was done. Hyundai still does not have a solution for the Safety Recall. What can be done to bring a resolution for this Safety Recall?
This issue was first noticed on December 13th, 2021, and has been an ongoing frustration. I am constantly getting this error: "Parking Sensor Error or Blockage." Please take a look at the attached picture as a reference. On February 8th, 2022, I brought my Hyundai Palisade to the dealer's service department for them to find out what may be wrong. Their technician notes: "Scan all modules for codes with GDS. No DTC in any module. Drove vehicle testing all front and rear sensors, and all are working as designed." Please see attached PDF of the service department's official printout. But I have had the same repeating issue since, most recently, last week. Something must be wrong with these technicians. Last year I had the front passenger window whistling sound issue, and technicians said after driving the Palisade that nothing was wrong with it and everything was working as designed. Time after, Hyundai issued a recall because of this issue! I don't trust the service department, and driving this car with a faulty sensor is a concern. Please advise, as the warranty period might be almost over, and I don't know what else to try. We barely use this car; while not in use, it's parked inside a garage and, when used, is for road trips.
On the 2020 Palisade SEL Premium the blue tooth voice recognition for calling out and siri request only works when the iPhone or Android phone is connected through the counsel USB. (CARPLAY) When not connected with the USB cord, but connected through the Bluetooth to the phone, the phone can receive and call out by touching the screen. Also, phone contacts shown on the screen through the Bluetooth can be retrieved by manually panning through the contacts and toughing the contact to be called. When a call is received through the Blue tooth, again you have to take your hand off the steering wheel and eyes off the road to find and touch the screen receiver button. The steering wheel phone buttons do work unless again the phone is connected through USB cord / Carplay. This is an Epic Fail for this model Hyundai and sets a big question for their advancement into Bluetooth technology. Also, I question their concern for driver and pedestrian safety, with the driver taking his eyes off the road and their hand searching the the monitor screen to manually answer or use their phone.
Turned into a parking spot , my palisade immediately jumped forward accelerating on its own it began driving by itself, bouncing off of one vehichle to another and pushing the car in front of me backwards then sideways. i had no control over this car. i did not have my foot on the gas as i checked . i finally hit the park light and the car stopped. I need something done asap as i need a vehichle. My car as towed to the dealershipon sunday this is now thursday hyundai is supposed to be in touch but i have not heard anything
I approached the intersection slowly and stopped completely to turn right. There were a couple of vehicles in front of mine. I pushed the 'Auto Hold' button while waiting on the Red light. A second later, I felt the car moving on its own and stepped on the brakes. The car did not stop and went forward and crashed into the vehicle in front of me. My vehicle did not stop after the initial collision and accelerated more on its own and went forward. I pushed the 'Park' button to stop the car but it did not work and the vehicle kept moving forward fast and hit another car. It still kept moving fast until it hit other things. The car stopped after it went through a wire fence and hit a tree. The brake did not work at all. The car never stopped once it started moving on its own. Forward collision warning never came when it was approaching the first vehicle in front of mine on its own. The 'check engine' light was on for 3 days and disappeared on its own about 1 month prior to the accident. I tried to take it to the service center immediately but the earliest appointment I could get was in June. The service adviser at Hyundai service said there was nothing that they can do since the warning light was not on when we asked for a service check on 6/11/22.
My back windshield shattered unprovoked once again. This is the second time.
The rear windshield shattered unprovoked. This was only 3 weeks after being repaired for the same issue. This is the third time.
While driving in heavy rains , check engine light comes up and vehicle starts vibrating. Once the vehicle is stopped and restarted the light & vibration goes away. This happened twice in 2 months ( July & aug 2021) and while driving in Interstate. I did report to the dealer/service manager after the first time and they were not able to pull up any logs/codes from the vehicle computers. The second time, it happened, I took the photo of the same. First time it occured when I had about 17500 miles on the vehicle. Second time it was 19643 miles. Both times it was raining heavily and speed was between 40- 50 miles/hour
No problems
VEHICLE WINDSHIELD STARTED CRACKING AT THE TOP MIDDLE AND MOVED DOWN THE WINDSHIELD. WE DID NOT NOTICE ANY ROCK HITS TO HAVE CAUSED IT. WITHIN 2 DAYS THE CRACK SPREAD ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE EDGE. IT HAS NOW STARTED TO DO THE SAME TOWARDS THE DRIVERS SIDE. FROM RESEARCHING FOR A REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD IT SEEMS LIKE THE WINDSHIELD CRACKING IS A MAJOR ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE.
THIS IS A USED 2020 PALISADE. I AM UNABLE TO CHANGE THE OWNER ON THE MYHUNDAI APP SO THE OLD OWNER CAN START MY CAR REMOTELY, CHANGE THE MODES OF AUTOPILOT CRUISE CONTROL WITHOUT MY PERMISSION ENDANGERING THE PASSENGERS. THE WEBSITE TO UPDATE THE OWNER IS BROKEN. I CONTACTED HYUNDAI SUPPORT 5 TIMES OVER A MONTH AND THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED AND UPDATED MY INFORMATION AND TO UPDATE THE OWNER BUT IT STILL WON'T ALLOW ME TO CHANGE IT AFTER SUBMITTING THE REG, BILL OF SALE, AND MY DRIVERS LIC IMAGE AS REQUESTED.
JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE YESTERDAY. TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE TWO DAYS EARLIER AND NOTICED VERY STRONG INTERIOR ODOR, SUCH A CARPET CLEANER OR DISINFECTANT, WHICH WE ASSUMED WAS FROM DEALERSHIP TRYING TO CLEAN, BUT OTHER CARS WE TEST DROVE DID NOT HAVE THIS SMELL. BOTH MY US AND AND I CAME HOME THAT AFTERNOON WITH A STRONG HEADACHE THAT LASTED ALL NIGHT. WE ASSUMED IT WAS FROM STRESS AND CAR SHOPPING'S. WE STILL DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE CAR, ASSUMING IT WAS STILL JUST A DISINFECTANT AND WOULD GO AWAY. BROUGHT HOME, OPENED ALL DOORS AND WINDOWS AND BACK HATCH TO AIR OUT. SPRAYED WITH NATURAL AIR FRESHENER ALL OVER CARPETS AND FLOORS. AFTER ONE NIGHT OF SITTING CLOSED INSIDE THE GARAGE, OPENED UP THE DOORS TO FIND THE SMELL IS GETTING STRONGER AND MORE INTENSE. OPENED THE WINDOWS TO LET AIR OUT AND SPRAYED CARPETS AGAIN. TODAY, AN ARTICLE WAS RELEASED THAT THOUSANDS OF OTHER HYUNDAI PALISADE OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE, AND IS TIED TO THE HIGHER END MODELS AND NAPPA LEATHER SEAT, WHICH WE HAVE. WE NOW HAVE LEARNED THAT HYUNDAI HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND ARE NOT RESPONDING. WE ARE SAD TO FIND OUT THAT OUR 1 DAY OLD CAR (TO US) HAS SUCH A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAT WE WERE NOT AWARE OF AND CANNOT STAND. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS USED TO BUILD THIS HIGH END VEHICLE AND IT'S AFFECTS ON OUR HEALTH. I AM VERY SENSITIVE TO SMELL AMD HAVE COMPLAINED OF THIS AWFUL SCENT SINCE WE FIRST SAT IN THE CAR. NOW THAT WE KNOW THIS MAY NOT BE SOMETHING THAT WILL JUST AIR OUT AND MAY BE AN INHERENT PROBLEM DIRECTLY FROM HYUNDAI, WE WANT ACTION. THIS MAY BE THE REAL REASON WHY THE PREVIOUS OWNER TURNED IT IN. IT IS AWFUL AND I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE SITTING MYSELF OR MY FAMILY IN OUR NEWLY PURCHASED VEHICLE. WE FEEL HYUNDAI SHOULD REPLACE OR REPAIR THIS PROBLEM WITH A RECALL!

VEHICLE EXACTLY 1 YEAR OLD WITH FULL WARRANTY, WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD WITH NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME AND SUNROOF EXPLODED. IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOT GUN WENT OFF INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND GLASS PIECES CAME DOWN ALL OVER ME AND MY WIFE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH PREVIOUS HYUNDA SANTA FE AND TUSCON MODELS AND THE DEALER CLAIMS A ROCK PECK CAUSED THIS AND THAT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. ITS BEEN A TERRIBLE BATTLE WITH THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE ASKING ME TO FILE A COMPREHENSIVE CLAIM WITH INSURANCE COMPANY HOWEVER I DONT FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO SO MANY PEOPLE, EVEN PEOPLE WHO OWN THE NEW 2020 PALISADE. ITS MORE COMMON ON DUAL SUNROOFS BUT WE HAVE THE SINGLE SUNROOM AND I PROMISE, IT WAS A VERY SCARY SITUATION THAT WE DONT WANT TO EXPERIENCE EVER AGAIN. WE HAVE BEEN PROUD HYUNDAI OWNERS OVER THE PAST 8 YEARS AND IF THEY ELECT NOT TO HELP US WITH THIS ISSUE OF REPAIRS, UNFORTUNATELY WE WILL TRADE THE VEHICLE AND NEVER PURCHASE HYUNDAI AGAIN.

Mileage: 300
THE CAR WAS PARKED ON MY DRIVEWAY. THE WEATHER DURING THE DAY WAS 65 BUT THEN FROZE AT NIGHT. SOMETIME DURING THE NIGHT MY ENTIRE BACK WINDSHIELD SHATTERED. THERE WAS GLASS ALL THE WAY UP TO THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, IN THE CUP HOLDERS, EVERYWHERE. THE ARM OF THE WIPER ALSO BROKE IN HALF. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF SOMETHING BEING THROWN OR ANYTHING HITTING THE CAR. THERE WAS NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE BESIDES THE WINDSHIELD BEING SHATTERED.

NOXIOUS SMELL INSIDE VEHICLE OF GARLIC OR OFF-GASSING OF CHEMICALS. THE SMELL IS OVERWHELMING AND MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO USE THE PALISADE UNTIL YOU HAVE AIRED IT OUT COMPLETELY. MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS TOPIC ON MESSAGE BOARDS AND NO RESOLUTION FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. HYUNDAI WON'T PERMIT US TO RETURN THE VEHICLE AND THIS SMELL COULD BE CONNECTED TO POISONOUS CHEMICALS USED IN THE PRODUCTION OF THE LEATHER SEATING. AN INVESTIGATION MUST BE COMPLETED AS IT PRESENTS A HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARD.
ONLY 2,500 MILES AND NEEDS A FULL WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT. A SMALL ROCK HIT THE WINDOW, A SMALL CHIP WHICH IMMEDIATELY SPREAD INTO A CRACK ACROSS THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. AND HAVE TO WAIT 6 WEEKS TO GET IT REPLACED BECAUSE THE WINDSHIELD IS ON BACKORDER - THERE MUST BE AN ISSUE THAT A BRAND NEW VEHICLE ALREADY HAS A BACKORDER ON A REPLACEMENT WINDSHIELD!
Mileage: 2,162
INSIDE OF SIX MONTHS I HAVE HAD TWO WINDSHIELDS THAT HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED. FROM THE SMALLEST CHIP THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD SPIDERWEBS AND GOES ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND I AM WONDERING WHAT ANYONE IS DOING REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. THE WINDSHIELDS ARE VERY THIN AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD. THE LITERALLY WATCHED WHILE DRIVING THE SMALL ROCK CHIP TURN INTO A COMPLETE SPIDERWEB ACROSS MY WINDOW.
Mileage: 8,000

X2 THE AUTOMATED EMERGENCY BRAKING HAS ACTIVATED FOR NO REASON. 1ST TIME DURING A RAIN EVENT THE AUDIBLE ALARM, HEAD-UP DISPLAY AND AUTOMATED EMERGENCY BRAKING ENGAGED. DURING THIS EVENT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN ON, THEY WERE ON AUTOMATIC, I SWITCHED TO MANUAL THEY STILL WOULD NOT WORK. SHORTLY AFTER IT STOPPED RACING THEY BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME THE EMERGENCY AUTOMATED BRAKING ENGAGED I WAS ON I-70 NEAR SPFLD. OHIO. TRAFFIC WAS MOVING FAST 65-70 MPH, I WAS IN LEFT LANE, HAD A NEARER WALL TO MY LEFT, SEMI TO RIGHT, PASSENGER CAR TO THE FRONT AND SEMI TO MY REAR, THE WEATHER WAS SUNNY OVERALL BEAUTIFUL DAY. WHEN IT ENGAGED ONCE AGAIN ABRUPTLY BRAKED (SAME ALARMS ENGAGED). THIS TIME WITH THE SEMI TO MY REAR IT SCARED ME SO BAD I FELT AS IF I WAS GOING TO GET RAN OVER BY THE SEMI. IN BOTH CASES THE BREAKING WAS ABRUPT AND QUITE AGGRESSIVE, BOTH EVENTS LASTED VERY BRIEFLY 1-3 SECONDS ON THE HIGHWAY INCIDENT I DID FEEL THE BACK IN WIGGLE IT DID NOT BREAK LOSE YOU COULD JUST FILL IT KIND OF HARD SWAY LEFT TO RIGHT OR RIGHT TO LEFT CANNOT REMEMBER THAT EXACTLY. IT CURRENTLY IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE REASONS REPORTED ABOVE AND SERVICING. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE INCIDENTS.

VEHICLE CAME WITH TOW HITCH SYSTEM FROM THE MANUFACTURER. WHILE USING A TRAILER HITCH THE HEAT FROM THE EXHAUST MELTED THE BACK END OF THE CAR, HEATED UP THE CARGO HITCH TO THE POINT OF MAKING IT HARD TO REMOVE FROM CAR, AND MELTING THE CARGO WEATHER PROOF BAG. THIS HAPPENED WITHIN A 2.5HR TRIP.

DURING A HEAVY RAIN STORM WENT THROUGH A LOW LYING AREA AT LOW SPEED (25 MPH) WHERE SEVERAL INCHES OF WATER HAD PONDED. THE FCA SYSTEM SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TEMPORARILY EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO KNOWN OBSTACLE. MY GUESS IS THAT THE FCA SENSED THE WATER AS AN OBSTACLE CAUSING THE BRAKES TO BE INCORRECTLY APPLIED. HAD SOMEONE BEEN BEHIND ME, IT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE FCA SENSORS ARE ON THE VERY BOTTOM OF THE FRONT SO IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE SENSORS WERE MOMENTARILY SUBMERGED.

I WAS COMING BACK FROM THE RIVER ON RICE ROAD (177) ON FRIDAY 6/26. TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AND THERE WAS A CAR IN FRONT OF ME BUT QUITE A DISTANCE FROM ME SO WHEN I HEARD THE WINDSHIELD CRACK, I WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHAT IT WAS. I CHOPPED IT UP TO FAR FLYING PEBBLE THAT GOT ME, NO BIG DEAL I HAVE INSURANCE COVERAGE TO REPAIR AND FILL IN THIS SMALL CHIP. I CALLED MY INSURANCE AND TODAY 'SAFE LITE ' CAME OUT AND WAS DOING THE REPAIR AND IT CRACKED HALFWAY DOWN TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE. NEVER SEEN A REPAIR CRACK THAT MUCH THAT FAST. I HAVE HAD PEBBLES HIT OTHER CAR WINDSHIELDS AND HAVE BEEN REPAIRED WITH OUT ISSUE. EVEN THE REPAIR PERSON SAID THIS WAS NOT NORMAL.

I HAVE COMPLAINED SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN SEPT 2019, WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO PARK AND YOU PRESS THE REVERSE BUTTON SOMETIMES IT TAKES TWO OR THREE TIMES PRESSING TO GET THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO REVERSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON FLAT ROAD, ON A HILL IN THE CITY, THIS LAST TIME WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE IT DIDN'T GO AND WHEN I LET OFF THE BRAKE THINKING IT WAS IN GEAR IT JOLTED FORWARD AND WRECKED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. *TR

WIND NOISE FROM ALL WINDOWS AT SPEEDS ABOVE 30MPH. NOTICED THE WIND NOISE ON PICKUP OF NEW CAR FROM DEALERSHIP. SENT IN FOR 2 'FIXES' BUT PROBLEM PERSISTS. 'WALK-IN' SEAT FUNCTION IN 2ND ROW WORKS BUT NO LONGER SLIDES FORWARD. ALL WHEEL HUBS HAVE EXCESSIVE RUST. MILEAGE WHEN FIRST NOTICED THE RUST WAS ABOUT 4000 MILES. RUST LEAKS THROUGH THE WHEEL CAPS

WIND NOISE DURING DRIVING AT 35-40 MPH IN CABIN NEAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS, BECOMES MORE LOUDER ON THE FREEWAY. A CRACK IN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AFTER ROCK/DEBRIS HAD NICKED THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. THE CRACK QUICKLY KEEPS ON EXPANDING IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AFTER GETTING NICKED.

I DO NOT FEEL THAT THIS VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY SAFE. THERE DOOR/WINDOW AREA IS NOT SEALED PROPERLY. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY OR AT A HIGH SPEED BECAUSE THE DOOR AREA SEEMS UNSTABLE.

BLIND SPOT SAFETY WARNING KEEPS POPPING UP AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 8-10 MINS. ALSO A LOUD WHISTLING NOISE FROM DRIVERS SIDE LIKE IF YOUR WINDOW IS OPEN. VERY ANNOYING WHISTLE SOUND.

'CHECK BLIND SPOT COLLISON WARNING SYSTEM' ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS EVERY TRIP AFTER 10-15 MINUTES. MY PALISADE ALSO STEERS TOWARD THE CENTER LANE AND DOES NOT STAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE AS INTENDED. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE BEING SO CLOSE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AND IT CAUSES ARM FATIGUE TO KEEP STEERING AWAY FROM THE CENTER. FINALLY, THERE IS A GREAT DEAL OF WIND NOISE COMING THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW/DOOR AS I DRIVE AT MEDIUM TO HIGH SPEEDS.
