The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds with the cruise control activated, the cruise control failed to disengage when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact pulled over, placed the vehicle in neutral, and restarted the vehicle for the cruise control to disengage. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The brake pedal was depressed, but the brake lights failed to illuminate. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V122000 (Exterior Lighting); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The failure mileage was 82,500. Parts distribution disconnect.

Aug 15, 2022 Crash

Park N Fly Mississauga Canada. Vehicle in parked position. Vehicle reversed from position and driven for 50-75 feet. Driver made a left turn and within two seconds the vehicle started accelerating on its own. Driver’s head and hands bounced off the steering for a brief moment and then returned. Engine could be heard revving continuously in an increasing manner. Nothing on the gas pedal nor was it manually depressed. The pedal felt stuck with no recoil like what is usually felt when ones foot is taken off the accelerator. Driver attempted to depress brakes to maximum capacity but the system would not override the acceleration and the motion the car was travelling. Car continued to pickup speed to about 70 km/hr. Attempted to slightly turn into a side lane. Cars were parked in facing each other position. Driver clipped the first vehicle, then deflected and ran into three other vehicles before becoming wedged. IT STARTED OFF AS WHAT SEEMED LIKE JUST THE BULBS BURNING OUT IN ANY WHICH LIGHT. THEN MY PASSENGER WINDOW STOPPED WORKING THEN STARTED WORKING. THE LIGHTS STILL WERE HAVING ISSUES. IT TOOK A BIT FOR ME TO REALIZE THAT THERE IS A SHORT OR SOMETHING IN THE CAR. THE LIGHTS GO OUT THEN COME BACK ON THEN SWITCH WHICH ONE IS OUT. THE WORST TIME WAS WHEN IT WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND CAME BACK OUT WITH NO LIGHTS WORKING. I CONTACTED THE COMPANY TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO FOUL PLAY AND THEY CHECKED THEIR CAMERA. I'VE HAD THE LIGHTS LOOKED AT MULTIPLE TIMES BY MULTIPLE DIFFERENT COMPANIES. IT NEVER FIXES THE PROBLEM PERMANENTLY. A FEW WEEKS AGO THE BACK RIGHT PASSENGER LOCK STOPPED WORKING THEN THE NEXT WEEK THE FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW AGAIN. THEN YESTERDAY THE LOCK STARTED TO WORK AND TODAY IT DOESN'T AGAIN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS HER BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BOARD AS WELL AS USE HER EMERGENCY HAND BRAKE IN ORDER TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE CONTACT EASED HER FOOT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. DUE TO THE FORCE APPLIED TO HER BRAKES, SMOKE BEGAN TO EMIT FROM VEHICLE'S EXHAUST PIPE. THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE UNTIL A PARKING LOT UNTIL THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT THEN TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND CALLED TITUS-WILL HYUNDAI 2255 CARRIAGE LOOP SW, OLYMPIA, WA 98502 WHERE THEY INFORMED HER TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THERE DEALER. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER, SHE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,700. INVALID VIN.

IN 8/2015 WE EXPERIENCED AN OCCURRENCE OF SUDDEN, UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ON A CITY STREET WHILE DRIVING. MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY HARD BRAKING AND SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF. SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AND WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER. THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM: "...CHECKED AND FOUND VEHICLE THROTTLE BODY TO HAVE A POOR RESPONCE (SIC)." THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY FOR A CHARGE OF $597.94, INFORMING ME THAT IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE 10 YEAR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM RECURRED TODAY (7/14/2015), AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. WHEN I CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER TO REPORT THE INCIDENT I WAS TOLD TO DROP THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEY'D LOOK AT IT. I'LL HAVE IT TOWED IN TO THE SHOP, AS THIS IS NOT A CONDITION WITH WHICH I'D NOT CARE TO DRIVE. THE FACT THAT THIS CONDITION RECURRED INDICATES THAT THE PROBLEM IS GENERIC IN NATURE, AND THAT HYUNDAI IS NOT CONSIDERING IT EITHER GENERIC OR SERIOUS ENOUGH TO ADDRESS. I BELIEVE THAT THERE WILL BE OTHER VEHICLES EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE NOW THAT THE "FLEET" OF HYUNDAI SANTA FE SUVS IS AGING BUT STILL IN SERVICE. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT HYUNDAI ADDRESS THE ISSUE SYSTEMATICALLY BEFORE SERIOUS INJURIES OCCUR.

ON A JUNE 3, 2017, WE WERE EXITING THE HIGHWAY. DURING THE TURN IN TRAFFIC, THE CAR SLOWLY LOST ALL POWER. ALL OF THE LIGHTS LIT UP AND THE SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE AND RPM INDICATORS WERE MOVING BACK AND FORTH. WE WERE ABLE TO GLIDE TO THE LIGHT IN TRAFFIC AND MAKE IT TO A PARKING LOT SAFELY. I AM SO GLAD WE DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT!! MY HUSBAND SHIFTED THE GEAR TO PARK AND THE CAR RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEMS. FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST A GOOD AMOUNT OF MONEY TO FIX. I ASKED IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MASSEY HYUNDAI AND THEY TOLD ME YES THIS IS A CURRENT ISSUE, AND COULD NOT BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DANGEROUS. SO ON 3.9.17 AS A RESULT OF NOT FIXING THIS ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE PRICE. MY CAR HAS STALLED OUT ONCE WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR AND CRASHED. AND A SECOND TIME WHILE TURNING INTO WORK ROAD AND STALLING OUT AGAIN MID TURN AND ALMOST TURNING INTO A DITCH. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THEY HAD TO DO BOTH BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T SURE WHICH ONE IT IS. IF NOT FIXED COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT, WELL IF THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MOST HYUNDAI VEHICLES THIS SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE COMPANY WHO MAKES IT NOT THE PEOPLE WHO BUY FAULTY PRODUCTS.

MY WIFE HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN TO HER WHILE DRIVING HER HYUNDAI SANTA FE THREE TIMES NOW AND THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP INSISTS THERE HAS BEEN NO INDICATION ON THE COMPUTER CODES AND THAT HYUNDAI DOES NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. AFTER STARTING MY VEHICLE AND PROCEEDED TO WORK MY SANTA FE ESC LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WENT INTO A "LIMP MODE". IT SLOWED DOWN TO 10 MPH AND WOULDN'T LET ME ACCELERATE. I PULLED OVER AND I COULD FEEL THE ENGINE SPUTTERING. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A MINUTE. TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON AND PROCEEDED TO WORK WITHOUT INCIDENT. NOW NO MATTER WHEN I DRIVE WHETHER ITS A COLD START OR AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE. WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED ON BACK ROADS IS NOT A SERIOUS ISSUE I FEEL THAT WHEN I AM ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING AT 65MPH AND IT HAPPENS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUES THAT I FEEL NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY HYUNDAI IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED.

MY HUSBAND PROCEEDED TO ASK FOR MANAGEMENT BUT THE SALES ASSOCIATE TOLD US THAT IT WAS NORMAL FOR A CAR TO STALL ONCE IN A WHILE??? MY HUSBAND WAS FRUSTRATED WITH EVERYONE, THE SALES ASSOCIATE INFORMED US THAT THE CAR HAD 3 PREVIOUS OWNERS ONLY BECAUSE THEY HAD PURCHASED THE SAME CAR NEWER. WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP SIGN, I BRIEFLY PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL NEARLY ALL THE WAY DOWN. THE CAR ACCELERATED BEYOND THE 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT AFTER RELEASING THE PEDAL. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AS HARD AS I COULD BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I PANICKED BECAUSE I WAS HEADING FOR A STOP LIGHT. MY WIFE AND I WERE SECONDS AWAY FROM A HIGH SPEED COLLISION. I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION WITH THE BRAKES FULLY APPLIED. THE ENGINE RACED UP TO HIGH RPMS. I LOOKED AT THE PEDAL AND IT WAS DEPRESSED NEARLY ALL THE WAY DOWN WITHOUT MY FOOT ON IT. I PUT MY FOOT UNDER THE PEDAL AND LIFTED UP. THE PEDAL SPRUNG ALL THE WAY UP AND THE ENGINE RPMS WENT BACK TO IDLE VALUES. THE CAR QUICKLY SLOWED. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR JUST BEFORE THE INTERSECTION. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TO EXAMINE THE PEDAL. THE DRIVERS SIDE CAR MAT HAD SLIPPED OFF ITS RETENTION POST AND HAD MOVED ABOUT 4 INCHES FORWARD SO IT WAS UNDER THE GAS PEDAL. THE END OF THE CAR MAT WAS CURLED UP SO IT WAS ELEVATED ABOUT 1 INCH ABOVE THE FLOOR CARPETING. WITH THE ENGINE OFF, I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL DOWN BY HAND AND IT GOT CAUGHT UNDER THE CAR MAT AGAIN. AFTER REMOVING THE MAT, I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL DOWN MANY TIMES (ENGINE OFF) AND IT ALWAYS WORKED CORRECTLY. THE DRIVERS SIDE CAR MAT RETENTION POST SYSTEM HAS NEVER WORKED WELL. THE FLOOR MAT FREQUENTLY SIDES OFF THE POST, AND THE MAT MOVES FORWARD. THE USED MAT IS NOW STIFF ENOUGH TO HOLD THE GAS PEDAL DOWN IF THE PEDAL IS PUSHED UNDER THE CURLED END OF THE MAT. A SECURE CAR MAT LOCKING DEVICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE ORIGINAL MAT RETENTION SYSTEM. HYUNDAI SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOT COMPLETELY SURE WHETHER SOME OTHER MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM HAD CONTRIBUTED TO THE STUCK GAS PEDAL. AS I WAS DRIVING THE CLUTCH PEDAL SUDDENLY DROPPED TO THE FLOOR FROM UNDERNEATH MY FOOT. THEN THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE, EVEN THOUGH MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND OVER THE CLUTCH. THANKFULLY DUE TO RECENT ACCELERATOR ISSUES/RECALLS FOR OTHER MANUFACTURES, I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE WAS PEGGED AT MAX RPMS WHILE I FRANTICALLY TRIED TO GET OVER THROUGH THE LANES WITH THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. WITH THREE CHILDREN ABOARD, THIS WAS A VERY HARROWING EXPERIENCE. I WAS ULTIMATELY ABLE TO REACH DOWN, GRAB THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND YANK IT BACK. AFTER DOING THIS, IT AGAIN DROVE NORMALLY. I IMMEDIATELY LOOKED AT THE PEDAL, FLOOR MAT, AND CARPET ONCE ARRIVING HOME. IT IS CLEARLY OBVIOUS THAT THE FLOOR CARPET ITSELF (NOT THE MAT, THE ACTUAL VEHICLE'S CARPETING) JUST UNDER THE PEDAL HAS HARDENED AND DEVELOPED A BULGE SUCH THAT THE PEDAL WILL GET STUCK IN IT IF DEPRESSED TO FAR. THIS WAS BROUGHT TO THE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION OF THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP WHO INDICATED THE WARRANTY WAS NO LONGER VALID AS THE VEHICLE WAS PAST 60K MILES (75K), AND A CALL PLACED TO HYUNDAI USA AGAIN YIELDED THE SAME RESULTS, THAT THE OWNER WOULD NEED TO PAY $1400 TO REPLACE THE FLOORING. THERE IS CLEARLY A DESIGN FLAW IN THE FLOOR CARPET AND RAISED SECTION DIRECTLY UNDER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THAT LEAD TO THIS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, PUTTING MY SAFETY AT RISK, AND HYUNDAI IS WILLING TO HIDE BEHIND THE WARRANTY TO AVOID KEEPING ITS ONCE LOYAL CUSTOMER SAFE. *TR

I WAS GOING TO PARK IN MY PARKING SPOT AND THE CAR JUST ACCELERATED AND JUMPED A GRANITE CURB AND STRUCK A 4 IN POLE IN THE GROUND. THE CAR KEPT HITTING THE POLE ALMOST DRIVING UP IT. THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP EVEN AFTER I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE, FINALLY I COULDN'T STOP IT UNTIL I PLACED BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PRESSED AS HARD AS I COULD. IT WAS FRIGHTENING, WHEN I CALLED THE GARAGE THEY WANTED ME TO DRIVE IT UP TO THE SHOP, I COULDN'T I WAS AFRAID IT WOULD ACCELERATE. I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DEALERSHIP COLLISION GUY AND HE SAID HE HAD NEVER HEAR OF SUCH A THING. I TOLD HIM I HAD LOOKED ON THE WEBSITE AND FOUND QUITE A FEW REPORTS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED TO RELEASE AFTER BEING DEPRESSED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. AT APPROXIMATELY 5:45 LAST NIGHT, WHILE CHANGING LANES AND ACCELERATING FROM 35 TO 40 MPH, MY SANTA FE SUDDENLY FLOORED ITS OWN ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. TRIED TO 'FIGHT IT' WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT NOTHING WOULD RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR, INCLUDING PUMPING IT SLIGHTLY. THE WAY WE GOT THE CAR TO STOP WAS BY PUTTING ON THE PARKING BRAKE, PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND TRYING TO DOWNSHIFT THE CAR IN DRIVE (BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT LET US PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL). WHEN IT GOT SLOW ENOUGH (15 MPH OR SO), WE CUT THE ENGINE AND THE CAR SCREECHED TO A HALT, BURNING RUBBER SMELLING SURROUNDING US. ONLY THEN COULD WE PUT THE CAR INTO 'PARK'. ONCE WE RESTARTED THE CAR IT DID NOT DO THE ACCELERATION AGAIN. OUR DEALER IS PRETENDING THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE, THOUGH A VERY QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS VERY MUCH IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT THEY ARE IGNORING. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THEY ARE WAITING FOR DEATHS TO HAPPEN BEFORE ACTING ON THIS ISSUE AND FIXING IT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS ADDRESSING IMMEDIATELY. *TR

THIS COULD HAVE BEEN . THE AFTER RESULT IS THE NERVOUSNESS THAT RIDES IN ONE'S SOUL WHEN ON THE ROAD. HAD OVER 20 WITNESSES TO THIS EVENT. WE WERE TRAVELING NORTH ON ROUTE 27 NEAR OXFORD, OHIO IN OUR 2007 HYUNDAI SANTA FE. WHILE PASSING A SLOW MOVING TRUCK, I REALIZED THAT THE CAR WAS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN AND WE WENT FROM 40 MPH TO OVER 90 MPH IN SECONDS. (THE CAR'S HIGH SPEED WAS RECORDED BY OUR GARMIN GPS). I PRESSED HARD ON THE BRAKES AND FELT THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED, BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RACING AT FULL THROTTLE. I PRESSED VERY HARD ON THE BRAKES AGAIN, BUT THE CAR ONLY SLOWED DOWN A LITTLE. I PUSHED THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND THEN OFF HOPING THE CAR WOULD STOP ACCELERATING. THAT DID NOT HELP. I PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN SHIFT MODE AND TRIED TO DOWNSHIFT SO THAT I COULD SLOW DOWN THE CAR, BUT THAT ONLY MADE THE ENGINE RACE EVEN FASTER. I FINALLY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, TURNED THE IGNITION KEY OFF AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE CAR. WE PULLED OVER ONTO THE GRASS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. WE WAITED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT SEEMED FINE. THE ENGINE WAS IDLING AT A NORMAL RATE AND THERE WERE NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS. WE CONTINUED OUR TRIP CAUTIOUSLY, MAINTAINING A DISTANCE FROM THE CARS AHEAD AND MOST OF THE TIME KEPT A HAND ON THE SHIFT, SO THAT THE CAR COULD QUICKLY BE PUT IN NEUTRAL AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER ON MONDAY. THEY RAN VARIOUS TESTS BUT REPORTED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT IT WAS UNACCEPTABLE. WE WERE SURE THERE WAS A SERIOUS DEFECT WITH THE CAR. HE THEN CONTACTED HYUNDAI CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS AND THEY PROPOSED KEEPING THE CAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS SO THAT THEY COULD ROAD TEST THE CAR WITH DIAGNOSTIC TOOLS ATTACHED. WE WERE CONCERNED ALLOWING THEM TO DRIVE THE CAR AND DECIDED TO SELL IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER COULD THEN RUN WHATEVER TESTS THEY NEEDED TO TRY AND FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM.

DRIVING ON THE GARDEN STATE PKWY IN NJ, THE CAR ACCELERATED TO 80MPH AND WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN OR STOP. DESPITE BOTH FEET ON BRAKE, THE CAR WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. THE INCIDENT LASTED FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND DISENGAGED BY ITSELF. SERVICED FOR ABOVE BY DEALER ON 5/2/09-REMAINED UNTIL 5/6/10 AND IT WAS REPORTED THERE WAS NO MECHANICAL ISSUE-"IT MUST HAVE BEEN THE FLOOR MAT". CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS INVOLVED, GOING UP TO REGIONAL REP, WHO REITERATED THERE WAS NOTHING MECHANICALLY WRONG WITH THE CAR-IT WAS DRIVER ERROR. THEY ALSO SUGGESTED IT MAY HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENTAL CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGEMENT BY DRIVER, BUT HAD NO EXPLANATION FOR WHY IT DID NOT DISENGAGE WHEN BRAKE WAS APPLIED. THEY MAINTAINED IT WAS DRIVER ERROR, PROBABLY THE FLOOR MAT. THE INCIDENT SEEMS SIMILAR TO THE RECENT TOYOTA PROBLEM. *TR

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ACCELERATOR ON THE HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2007 VERSION. AFTER THE SECOND REPAIR ATTEMPT THE DEALER CALLED THE REGIONAL PERSON AND THEY OFFERED A THIRD SOLUTION BECAUSE THAT PERSON "HAD SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE". THE THIRD SOLUTION DID NOT WORK AS WELL. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WITHOUT NOTICE YOU SIMPLY HAVE NO ACCELERATION. ENGINE RUNS AND THERE SEEMS TO BE POWER BUT THERE'S NO ACCELERATION. IT'S HAPPENED TO MY WIFE 3 TIMES PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. THEY HAVE REPLACED: A PEDAL SENSOR AND ENTIRE GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY, REPAIRED A CONNECTION TO THE APS SENSOR, AND AS DIRECTED BY THE REGIONAL PERSON THEY REPLACED THE "THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY" AND TODAY, 4/29, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT A STOP LIGHT AND THEN VIOLENTLY LUNGED FORWARD. *TR

VEHICLE DID NOT SLOW DOWN AND ACCELERATOR REMAINED PRESSED TO MAT. APPLIED FULL FORCE TO BRAKES AND MANAGED TO SLOW DOWN TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK. VEHICLE BEGAN REVVING VERY HIGH SO I PUT VEHICLE BACK INTO DRIVE AND IT BEGAN MOVING ON IT'S OWN SINCE ACCELERATOR WAS STILL FULLY DEPRESSED. I DEPRESSED ON THE BRAKES AGAIN, PUT VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TURNED VEHICLE OFF, WAITED 30 SECONDS AND RESTARTED ENGINE. ACCELERATOR HAS WORKED NORMALLY SINCE AND VEHICLE WILL BE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. THERE WERE NO LOADS ON THE VEHICLE OTHER THAN LIGHTS BEING ON AND THE TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS WERE COOL WITH AVERAGE HUMIDITY FOR THE AREA. OVERALL, A VERY FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE. *TR
