The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. While the contact's wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact's wife was able to coast the vehicle to the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was advised to have the vehicle towed to the dealer. In addition, the contact was informed of Campaign 953 (Extended Warranty on the Engine). The vehicle was later towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact was informed of Campaign 953 (Extended Warranty on the Engine). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by the dealer. The manufacturer initially agreed to a good-faith repair. The manufacturer declined the good-faith repair because the Campaign 953 requirement was not performed. The contact had not received information on Campaign 953. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

On 10/13/25, I was driving on a state hwy & lost all power. All of my warning lights came on. I managed to pull into a driveway & when I tried to start it, puffs of smoke were coming from under the hood. I got it to my mechanic & he said my starter was burnt up. He replaced the starter & discovered that my engine is seized up. It was a scary incident especially driving on a busy state highway. It put my life & others lives in danger. There were no warning lights on prior to this. I acquired the vehicle in February from a car lot. I have had it serviced regularly.

The engine experienced catastrophic failure. A piston punctured the engine block, likely due to failure of the connecting rods, an issue known to be associated with the recalled Theta II engine. The engine is still in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. We were scared and felt seriously endangered during the incident. The engine failed suddenly while we were driving on a busy highway. After a loud clunk, the vehicle immediately lost acceleration and would not respond to throttle input. We had to quickly pull over onto the shoulder while traffic sped past us at high speeds. The sudden loss of power in fast-moving traffic put us at serious risk of being rear-ended or causing an accident. It was a frightening experience that could have resulted in injury or worse. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and confirmed there is a hole in the engine block caused by a piston. We brought the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership for further inspection. Still, their communication has been poor, and they have not yet confirmed whether they acknowledge the issue or its relation to the Theta II engine recall. Our independent mechanic has inspected the vehicle and is currently with a Hyundai dealership for inspection. It has not been checked by police or insurance representatives. No third-party inspector has been involved beyond the dealer and mechanic. There were no warning lights, error messages, noises, or performance symptoms before the failure. The engine failure was sudden and occurred without any prior indication of a problem.

I purchased a 2014 Hyundai Tucson with the 2.4L Theta II engine, which has since experienced complete engine failure due to bearing wear. The Hyundai dealership diagnosed this as the same defect covered under Recall 20V-520 and the Kinnick & Coats v. Hyundai class-action settlement (Case No. 8:17-cv-00838-JLS-JDE). Under the terms of that class action, this defect — specifically premature bearing wear leading to engine seizure — should be covered. However, Hyundai Corporate denied my repair, stating that my vehicle did not qualify under the 953 recall. I was never notified of this recall, as I had recently purchased the vehicle used and was unaware of the outstanding recall eligibility or class-action timelines. I maintain my vehicles meticulously, including regular oil changes every 3,000 miles, and this failure occurred under normal driving conditions. Given that the dealership confirmed the defect is exactly what’s outlined in the recall and lawsuit, and the fact that the recall should have applied to my engine based on symptoms and model, I am requesting an expansion of recall coverage or support through warranty or settlement coverage. I have already contacted Hyundai and was denied support. I am requesting investigation into why my VIN is not included and believe the recall scope should be extended.

While I was driving ,my vehicle unexpectedly shut off without warning ,creating a dangerous situation ,thankfully I was able to safely pull over .Due to this issue I had my car towed to dealership for inspection I discovered my car is included a recall number 22v056000 Hyundai refusal to honor a recall that directly affected my car Hyundai have denied the recall on my car for no reason

As with many Hyundai vehicles, soon after I hit 100,000 miles, there was unbeknownst to me and oil leak that caused the engine to seize. There was no indicatior lights warning of the issue. My car’s has been maintained, and although this is under warranty, Hyundai is refusing to fix the issue because I cannot produce oil receipts for the past 4 1/2 years that I’ve owned the car. Those that I have produced, they say are not enough. The service station that I normally had my oil changed at has shuttered. So I cannot get as many oil change receipts as they want. Besides, who keeps receipts of this nature and what if oil changes were done privately?

A recall caused my engine to fail, and needs replacing. it is i believe “campaign 966” They are claiming that i needed to have the system software updated PRIOR to the engine failing. they know that their recall is responsible for the engine failing, but they are trying to go around it by saying that it needed to be fixed before the engine gave out. They NEVER, not one time, reached out about this needing to be fixed. not by email, or regular mail. Nothing. i’m reading everywhere that they do this shady stuff constantly to people, and it is just not right. Thank you

While driving on street lost power in traffic then a loud knocking noise.pulled over to a mechanic shop and they told me that it was engine pulleys was bad plus 2 transmitters was bad . I only had the vehicle 4months .The dealership that sold me the vehicle I don't believe they had the car inspected tried to contact them but no reply . I believe the dealership ripped me off and I'm making payments on the vehicle, also my Vehicle has not been running for 3 weeks due to the expensive repairs that is needed.

On August 17th 2024 my 2014 Hyundai Tucson wouldn't start. I had my vehicle towed to the dealership so that they can figure out why my vehicle wasn't working. I just leased the vehicle in March 2024. The dealership told me there was an engine recall on my vehicle and they didn't handle engine work and it needed to be towed to an Hyundai dealership. I contacted the Hyundai dealership and they told me there was an engine recall on my vehicle and that it would be serviced on October 17th 2024 at 11 am and hopefully done by 6 pm that day. I was and still am blown away that I have to be without my vehicle for 2 months. Fast forward to October 17th 2024 I'm excited about finally getting my vehicle back as this recall has caused me so much stress and a Major Inconvenience on my life. I contact Hyundai and am told the appointment is for a vehicle diagnostic and they don't have the engine it has to be ordered and then make an appointment to install. I also was told there were 2 other recalls on the vehicle that would be covered under the warranty or recall but the engine would not be covered under the warranty or recall because my name is listed under the dealership name on the title so my vehicle is currently still sitting at Hyundai with no answers from either party about me getting my vehicle fixed and back on the road

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle stalled; the vehicle eventually returned to normal operation once the contact waited several minutes for the engine to cool down. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an auto repair shop where it was diagnosed that an abnormal sound was coming from the engine compartment and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

Hyundai of Meridian has my vehicle due to the Recalls! Hyundai Motor has denied repair! I was almost hit by a 18 wheeler when my engine stalled and shut down on the highway!

Jul 23, 2024

For a year my vehicle has this sort of loud noise, sort of a vibration , it has been consuming and burning large amounts of oil, to now where I'm having to put 1-2 Quarts of oil in a week. I was made aware from a mechanic at Hyundai there is a class action lawsuit for an engine defect where the rod bearing breaks which damages the engine and can cause either the engine to seize or catch on fire.. Hyundai refused to fix the engine until it is deemed a total loss despite them being aware my vehicle is already displaying the symptoms of this engine defect. This is so unsafe for not only myself and my family but other motorists .

I brought my car to dealership three times in two month period time. The first time was because car wasn’t starting and I need to replace spark plugs , second time was because camshaft position sensor and now the engine has failed

Apr 5, 2024

The connecting rod bearing failed. The dealer has the car and has not provided me with detailed documentation as I have requested. I was traveling ~70 MPH on [XXX] in Maryland when the engine threw a rod. I could control the braking and steering, but had no ability to accelerate. I was able to magically go across 3 lanes of traffic and exit the highway to a safe resting place. I had the car towed to Porter Hyundai in Newark, DE. They inspected the engine and sent documentation to Hyundai. Prior to the event, no warning lamps were on. The "check engine" light came on as the incident was occurring. On [XXX] I was driving my vehicle and the vehicle stopped moving. The vehicle panel did not display any warning lights. My vehicle had to be towed to my residency. I have attached a copy of the information from my insurance company State Farm regarding the towing expense. 2016-2017 Hyundai Tucson have a current recall for engine failure the same failure the 2014 has. I will like to have an explanation why my vehicle has not been recalled. Please see the link below for other owners of the same make, year and model with the same issues. Catastrophic engine failure While driving at 50 m.p.h. engine failure caused brake failure all electronics failed. Complete engine failure diagnosed by Hyundai dealership. Hyundai Corporate and Bentley Huntsville are refusing to fix faulty engine in vehicle. Bentley Hyundai submitted a fake PA asking for Hyundai Corporation to pay for engine combustion cleaning. Hyundai Corporation and Bentley Hyundai Huntsville Alabama are not honoring extended warranties on known engine failure in their vehicles that are stalling on highways, catching fire and damaging other car parts such as catalytic converter, compressors and rod throwing of engines on highways. This is a danger to consumers and should be addressed.

Friday [XXX] I was driving my 4 year old to preschool. We were on the highway traveling about 55 mph. Without warning my car engine turned off. After coasting for awhile, because I couldn't pull over due to guardrails, I was able to get to shoulder of road. Vehicle was towed to local chevy dealership with inspection result of seized engine. car is available for inspection at chevy dealer, manufacturer has not inspected yet because I will need to have it towed the 35 miles to their dealership but they are aware of the situation. I didn't notice any symptoms prior to engine failure. This was a very scary situation for me and my child. I was so worried I was going to get hit by a car traveling behind me since my car was slowly coasting in the lane of the traffic and I couldn't get off of the highway right away because of guardrails. Once I could get off the highway, my car could only coast enough to get about 1 foot off of road which caused a hazard to other vehicles, myself, and child. On September 21, 2023, around 5:15PM, on Long Island (LI) road in the right lane, I was heading to Mastic area. 1.First noticed burning smell mixing unburned fuel from dashboard. 2.After few times, car started knocking which intense over time and left to immediate exit. 3.Then after few min., car’s engine light and motor oil indicator started blinking and immediately proceed to park. 4.Then after car stalled and didn’t get start.

Took car in back in April 2022 to settle the recall. After servicing the car the abs and two other sensor lights came on, it’s now August 2023 it has less than 100,000 miles and it’s less than 10 years.

On Monday, August 7, 2023, I was accelerating, using the gear shifter and then went back into automatic-mode and the lights came on and car just stopped. It wouldn't restart - there was no noise, but the battery seemed to be working as the radio, lights, clock, etc. were all working fine. I was travelling at about 40 mph. There was a small shoulder and I was able to pull off, but I wasn't all the way over. A huge storm was about to start and the sky was turning dark. Heavy rain and up to 80 mph gusts of winds. I had my flashers on but it was hard for people to see me. I was afraid someone was going to hit me. My car was towed to the mechanic where they told me the battery had died. I picked it up the next day and began to drive home. Less than two miles away, I was stopped at a red light and when I went to drive again the lights were on and car had stopped. I was able to start it one more time to get it over to the side of the road where it wouldn't start again. This time I was on a 6-lane road during rush hour traffic. The car had to be towed again and I had to call 911 to have a police officer come and set up his car behind me so I wouldn't get hit by the cars speeding by. The next day the mechanic told me that the engine had seized up and my only option was to have the engine replaced which would cost $8,000! The car only has a little over 100,000 miles and has been well taken care of.

Engine Failure with no warning at all. All recalls were resolved prior to the engine failure. I was on a 4 lane bridge that was 7 miles long over Tampa Bay in heavy traffic. The engine light started flashing, the oil light came on and there was a loud knocking noice. Traffic was going anywhere from 65-75+ MPH. I lost acceleration, had to turn on hazards to try to get over. It’s amazing that we were not rear ended and injured when this happened. The Tucson was running fine prior to the engine failure. The dealer notes display: 99947 - engine failed bearing replaced long block engine and road tested. The engine blew on 5/28/2023. The replacement was completed on Saturday July 1, 2023 when the dealer called to say it was ready. I had 99,947 miles on it and always kept up on maintenance and recalls.

While passing a vehicle in a passing zone, all of my dash lights came on simultaneously and the engine killed. My fiancee and I were traveling at approximately 57 mph. She was driving and had to try maneuvering safely to the side of the road. We couldn't get it completely past the white line on the shoulder however and put our flashers on to warn other vehicles. Her great uncle Jim picked us up and towed us home on Mother's Day. My vehicle is available for inspection. My fiancee's uncle Dani came to look at it the following weekend and replaced the starter in case that was the issue. That didn't fix the problem. At that time he suspected the engine possibly "froze up". It sat in our yard until we had it towed the following month to a licensed auto repair facility (Dennys Auto in Dresser, Wisconsin). They inspected the vehicle and stated the engine was bad and replacement would cost $6,500+. I have owned this vehicle for 4 months prior to this incident and have put on less than 4,000 miles. I didn't file a police report or file an insurance claim as it was not damaged by an animal or other vehicle. We could have been hit by the car we were passing or any vehicle that drove by us when we were disabled on the side of the road. At this time I don't have any invoices available to upload as my vehicle is still at the auto shop until early next week. I can get statements from all parties involved upon request.

On November 17, 2022, I purchased a 2014 Hyundai Tucson from Premier Motorcars Inc. located at 3110 W. Tennessee St., Tallahassee, Florida 32304. The vehicle was advertised on their website as available for purchase. When I arrived and inquired about it, I was taken to the back where it appeared to be getting detailed. There was no Buyer’s Guide on any window of the vehicle, anywhere on the vehicle, nor one anywhere in the vehicle. When I asked about it, I was told it was because it had just been used for a trade in, passed inspection, and being considered for purchase by another party. I took it for a test drive and everything appeared to be in good working order so I proceeded with the purchasing process since the salesperson lowered the asking price. Less than four months later, on March 3, 2023, while I was taking my children to school, my check engine and check oil lights came on simultaneously and my vehicle shuttered to a complete stop and would not start. I finally managed to get it to crank and barely made it to a nearby gas station. I had it towed to my mechanic and was told it needed a new engine. My payments for this vehicle commenced in February 2023. I’m financed for a current balance of $12,015.95 that I am still paying $232.00 per month (and $114 per month for auto insurance) for a vehicle that I cannot drive and cannot afford to repair. A repair that I now know is due to a recall issued on February 2, 2022: Manufacturer Recall Number 218/ RECALL CAMPAIGN 218/ NHTSA Recall Number 22V056000 that I was never informed pertained to my vehicle.

Dec. 14, 2018 while driving 50 M.P.H. my 2014 Hyundai Tucson engine: 2.0-L I4-di with 113,000 miles, made an awful sound then moments later, the car engine lost all power, lights and steering. I nearly crashed my car. I was fortunate not to hit the car in front of me who immediately after my engine failed, suddenly stopped to make a left turn barely missing this car, I then had to correct my skid then make an abrupt 90 right hand turn off the highway and up a steep driveway, praying it was enough of an incline to slow my car bringing my car to a safe stop. Unable to restart the engine, the key having failed to illuminate the engine lights again, I was forced to call and pay for the car towed back to the Laconia, N.H. Hyundai dealer where I purchased the car and within 2,900 miles before the catastrophic engine failure. After five days I called the dealership only to find out then that the Hyundai Tucson's engine was blown and needed to be replaced. I was told there were no new Hyundai engines available, due to thousands of reported engine failures of the Hyundai 2.0 engine and, I would need to purchase a junkyard engine with and pay for another warranty. I can only hope the seriousness of the 2014 Hyundai Tucson catastrophic engine failure hazard convinces the N.H.T.S.A. to force Hyundai USA, 2.0 L I 4 direct injection engine to recall all Tucson models with these motors, joining other 2.0 engines installed in the recalled Santa Fe's and Santa Fe models with the exact same motor in my car.

Engine quit working doing 60 MPH on interstate leaving my 20 year old daughter stranded on the side of the road in a remote area. Highway Patrol had to come get her to keep her safe. Hyundai refuses to replace the engine under the Theta engine Judgement as required by law because they state recall 953 was not done but we were never notified, and this page does not indicate there is a 953 open recall on the vehicle.

As I was driving on 76 in Philadelphia pa my engine seized it wouldn't go over 5mph. I panicked because of the highway I was on that. I put my hazard lights on as I made my way over to the side. My car was towed to the dealership this is the 3rd engine that is being replaced. Th whole dashboard lit up prior to the engine and its still showing no recall on my car. Yet the dealership said its part of it. So now I'm waiting for a new engine once again. I just reached 72,000 miles. They did give me a loaner.

2014 Tucson shut down twice while driving on the interstate, loss of power, wouldn't crank., consuming lot of oil constant misfires and has replaced the cat. converters twice. Hyundai has been of no help at this point

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle would not properly accelerate. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over and added oil to the engine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. A case was filed. The failure mileage was 136,000.

My car stopped abruptly on my way home. Tried to restart the car to no avail. Placed a call to McGovern Hyundai dealership in Leominster Ma and they ask me to hold, They informed me my car is part of a safety recall and needs to be tow over. I did as instructed, McGovern dealership informed they will work it out with Hyundai Motor America. I received two letters in my mail, One for safety recall and they will be fixed at NO CHARGE. Dealership informed me my engine work is not part of a recall and i should pay for the charges. Further checks reveals that my car model, year and make was part of a class action lawsuit which Hyundai settled due to failure of engines.

The engine malfunctioned within the first 8 months of me purchasing the vehicle. It just randomly stopped working one day. The dealership was able to succesfully replace the engine under warranty (at least that’s what they told me they did) however, the same issue arose another 8 months later. I’ve done everything I needed to do as far as getting the oil changed and maintaining the vehicle. The engine light would repeatedly flash on and off so I assumed it was a malfunction because I just had the engine replaced. I took it to a local mechanic to get evaluated and they determined the engine was really bad and needed to replaced again. I reached back out to the dealership to notify them and they reached out to my extended warranty company. The extended warranty company denied my claim stating it is not covered due to the engine causing the insides of the vehicle to melt. Now I have a car that I am unable to drive due to no fault of my own.

Car keeps throwing "P1326 glow relay short circuit" code. This is the 3rd time it has happened in 3 weeks of driving it. Engine power is limited, engine is knocking and squealing, wheels are locking up while driving, engine keeps dieing while actively moving and accelerator is pressed. Just purchased the car in used market with 105k on odometer. At time of purchase dealer indicated the they had to put a new top end into engine to get it to run. This car is the most expensive LEMON I have ever encountered!

2014 Hyundai Tucson bought used with 20,781 original miles in November 2021, thru an estate sale. On December 01, 2021, took the vehicle to dealer for analysis on an engine knocking noise that would not go away by driving it. I then researched the problem on the internet, and read these Hyundai engines had bad engine manufacturing defects, and regularly had engine failures, with some blowing a hole thru the engine block a causing fires. After tests at the dealer, they stated it had “past” the engine knock noise test and I could bring in back at a later date for another test. They stated they could not do anything with it passing the noise test. I told him I could not use a car that was defective and not safe. I told him I knew Hyundai had settled engine failure lawsuits. No other attempts or offer was made. On 02/23/22, I took the vehicle to the dealer again for another engine knock noise test. I believed the noise was now louder and stronger. After being tested again, the dealer stated it past the test again, and they could not replace the engine without a failed test. The dealer stated to come back when it fails or makes a really loud knocking noise. I told him I did not want it to blow up on me or make me cause an accident on the freeway before they would act. They stated it needed to fail the noise test. I told them I did not like this at all. Was told to keep using it until it failed. On 09/22/22, I spoke to the dealer representative in person. He was very busy, I asked him to keep my engine noise case open on my car, as it was still making a loud knocking noise. He stated it was closed now. He offered no other further assistance on my problem, and started to talk to some else. I felt I was just blown off. Now, I guess they want the engine to blow up before any thing is done to fix it. I further believe they don’t care if it causes an accident. Even though they know of the problem of engine defects, they refuse to just fix it with another engine.

The car randomly decelerates. Driving in traffic at 55 miles and hour and car drops to 35 mph without warning. Puts the driver and passengers at risk of being rear-ended/ or having an accident. The car will also does not accelerate properly. Puts the driver and passengers at risk of being rear-ended/ having an accident. Check engine light comes on. Take car to dealership. They take a month or so to fix. The car drives normal for a month or two and then the problem repeats. This problem repeatedly puts peoples lives at risk. The car is in the shop for the 6th time in two years. Dealer has replaced NOX sensor over and over. Downloaded new software. Offered to clean the gas tank. (rip off) Internet has this problem identified over and over. why is there no recall for something that is going to get someone killed.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V056000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated on several occasions, when the brake pedal was depressed, he had to apply pressure for the vehicle to stop. The contact also stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, his wife heard a rattling noise and the vehicle started to shake when all the warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was notified of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall affiliated with his VIN. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000

On 7/29/2022 we took a trip with a 2014 Tuscan from from Boise Idaho to Worland WY. About 2 hours past Pocatello in a town called Kemmerer Wyoming the vehicle started to knock in the engine. As this happened the Vehicle started to derate its self from 80 MPH to 50mph and wouldn't accelerate past 1500RPMs. We pulled over and checked the oil and found metal on the rag used to check the oil. Ran a code reader and it read P1326. That means The Knock Sensor Detection System is tripped. In 2020 they fixed the sensers on most vehicles using the GDI engine because they would have a faulty trip. The tell tale sign that it wasn't a faulty senser was the engine knock and metal in the oil. We drove two hours the night before and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I would get oil changes every 3k to 5k miles. I checked fluids the night before when I left Boise. This issue came up with no warning. Turns out Hyundai has a life time warrantee on the GDI engine because they have major problems. They was a 1 Billion Dollar Law Suit against Kia/ Hyundai for issues during the manufacturing. This issue applies to the Hyundai Sonata, Santa Fe, Tucson and Kia Optima, Rio ,Sorento ,Soul and Sportage. Make sure to call Hyundai/Kia and they should replace the engine free of charge or give you a option to trade even if you DO NOT have a warranty. I received a recall letter in the mail regarding the knowck sensor software. I took the my vehicle to the dealership on 11/09/2021, and the service center technician did an update on a code. On 01/19/2022. I was driving back to work at a rate of speed of 25 mph, when my engine light began to flash, my cars speed dropped to 15 mph and it wouldn't accelerate above that speed. I looked at the cars manual and it stated do not drive the car. I called a towing company and had it taken to Greenway Hyundai of the Shoals in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The dealership kept my car from 01/19/2022 until 02/07/2022 without a loaner or an update. The changed code p1326. 2 other incidents occured an no remedy. I am afraid to drive my car.

The first time while driving my engine seized on my 2014 hyundai tucson I had a loaner from the dealership for almost a year. They were waiting for a new engine to come from Korea to California to Pennsylvania. The second time while driving the car got extremely hot and oil was squinting everywhere the third time a recall on the engine they took my car feb 25, 2022 it sat at the dealership for almost 6 months telling me my Vin was taking off the recall list I packed my suv up 2 days. It went on silent came out so horribly loud, it was hot from behind and the side. The cR is not save to drive the man working there said so.i have been dealing with hyundai America internal affairs since feb. Now I have a lawyer. This is so messed up

While driving down road the engine just quit running. There has been an issue with this type of engine in the past that I was not told about. It's the 2.0 and 2.4 theta engine that's equipped in this year model Hyundai. By the engine just quit running it could have been ending up fatal but thankfully it wasn't.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while her husband was driving approximately 10 MPH, the engine seized and the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power and stalled. The driver pulled safely to the side of the road. There were unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The dealer informed the driver that there was a part installed in the vehicle that electrically shut down the vehicle. The engine was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

The contact owns a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a solenoid failure. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there were metal shavings in the bottom of the engine and related the failure to an unknown recall. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer, Clay Cooley Hyundai Mesquite (16230 Lyndon B Johnson Fwy, Mesquite, TX 75150) who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but declined the engine replacement due to a mileage discrepancy with the dealer that sold the vehicle. The manufacturer informed the contact that the vehicle was impacted by the following Manufacturer Service Campaigns: 953 ECM and Cluster Update - Engine Monitoring Logic Product Improvement and 958 Canister Inspection and Auxiliary Canister Kit Installation. Engine light started blinking and I could not accelerate anymore. After driving home, I figured out it was showing P1326 error. It didn't allow me to go above 60 mph or 2000 rpm. Further digging into the issue I figured out that this was a common issue with hyundai and kia cars, but there was no recall for my car. I took the car to dealship as it was still under warranty and they only updated ECU for knock sensor. No other repairs where done saying that there was no solution to the issue. Other cars get their engines replaced and get lifetime warranty. I got no repairs or extended warranty.

Iba conduciendo mi vehículo por carretera y de momento se apago. Vehículo no quiere volver a prender.

56k ish miles on my car, 2nd owner. Oil pressure light flickered on and off about .5 miles from home after 20 mile highway drive, steady on when pulled into driveway. Turned off car immediately. Have noticed excessive oil consumption but check and top off frequently. Topped off less than 200 miles prior. About halfway or less since last oil change mileage wise from what I recall. Checked oil and about halfway between bottom and top markers on dipstick. Took to dealer Monday (.8 miles from home). Oil light did not come back on. Dropped off. Dealer said light came on shortly after driving. Said problem could be caused by “aftermarket” oil filter aka not a OEM filter. Said would do oil & filter change to see if resolved. Yesterday (Thursday) said oil & filter change complete & oil light not on. Reiterated previously mentioned concern of engine failure and potential accident. Service advisor said hyundai will not entertain engine replacement unless oil consumption gets documented. Oil consumption test to be completed after 1000 miles or until low oil levels noticed/oil pressure light illuminates. Will pick up tomorrow to see what happens. Engine is covered under newly extended warranty if failure occurs. Service advisor says nothing else was checked internally, spark plugs, etc. as this would incur engine being taken apart and extra charges prior to hyundai “entertains” covering engine replacement etc. Although no failure has occurred yet I’m worried something will and it will result in something potentially catastrophic for not only the engine/car but myself.

My car stopped running in the middle of the road. I had to slowly pull over and have it towed to the dealership. Upon further inspection, the dealer told me that the engine is dead and to replace it would cost 15K. I have 121K miles on the car and Hyundai's warranty ends at 120K. They refused any coverage and I am expected to cover the expense.

Acquired vehicle in November 2021, with 20,718 miles. I noticed a small knocking noise coming from engine area, but discounted any major problem due to the fact it only had 20k miles. After using the car for two weeks, and researching this engine knock noise, I discovered there is a long history of engine failures due to faulty internal engine components on this type of engine. I took it to the Hyundai dealer to diagnose the problem, and was informed the knock was normal and had past the “engine noise test”. They stated there is no open recalls for this vehicle, and that I should go back if the noise increases. I feel this vehicle is now unsafe to drive because the engine has to basically fail, and thus place my family’s safety at risk and even possibly cause an accident or engine fire, in order for it to be fixed by the dealer. I believe this model year and engine type needs to be investigated and be recalled, as many other vehicles with this same exact engine have had this same problem, resulting in total engine failures, near accidents and even fires. I have read there are even lawsuits on this dangerous engine defect.

Jan 3, 2022

I was drying my 2014 Hyundai Tucson 12/27 and the engine began knocking and the speed dramatically decreased. Now, the engine no longer works at all. I took it to the hyundai dealer and they refused to fix because it is not currently in a vehicle recall campaign (although it should be). I am also filing a complaint with the nhtsa today, which currently shows 49 similar complaints for this exact year and model.

On 10/28/2021 had car towed to dealer for blinking engine light.Iwas told needed a new engine. The beginning of December got the car back and was told it was the knock sensor on 12/16/2021 light started blinking brought back to dealer and then was told it was the engine harness. They shut off light I was told I could drive car home, they shut off blinking. Light got to highway passing into another lane light started blinking lost power from 65 to 45 was almost hit the car behind me swerved to avoid me thank god .and since then the dealer will not call me back and Hyundai of America gave me a case worker who will not call me back. I have been told this will cost $5000.00.to repair these problems started when they did update on car at the dealership I seen 3 papers for failed engine and now this.

NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK AND THE OIL WAS 2 QUARTS LOW. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A COMPLETE OIL CHANGE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STILL CONSUMED AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE IT TO A HYUNDAI DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE NEXT OIL CHANGE AND NOT TO ADD OIL. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT IF THE ENGINE SEIZED, THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER THE 100,000 MILES WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ANOTHER ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND A QUART OF OIL WAS ADDED AGAIN. THE CONTACT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AGAIN AND WAS INFORMED THAT A CASE WAS OPENED BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR ONE TIME ONLY BUT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO SIGN A LIABILITY WAIVER IF THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIX THE FAILURE THE FIRST TIME. ADDITIONALLY, THERE WOULD NOT BE SECOND GOODWILL REIMBURSEMENT IF THE VEHICLE FAILED AFTER THE FIRST REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

THIS IS THE SAME ENGINE IN THE SANTA FE , AND SONATA WHICH WAS RECALLED. HYUNDAI IS STILL REFUSING TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO THE TUCSON TOO. I HAVE TRIED HIGH MILEAGE OILS AND THICKER WEIGHTS TO REDUCE THE BURNING. I HAVE TRIED LUCAS HEAVY DUTY OIL STABILIZER. NOTHING SEEMS TO KEEP THIS VEHICLE FROM CHUGGING DOWN OIL. MY CONCERN IS THAT MOST OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS WERE DUE TO THE ENGINE SEIZING DUE TO LACK OF OIL. DO WE KNOW WHY THESE ENGINES ARE BURNING SO MUCH PR HOW WE CAN CHANGE THAT? APPARENTLY THE ENGINE IS BACKORDERED AND LAST DATE I HAVE RECEIVED SO FAR (AS OF 2/26/19) IS 3/26/19 BUT NOTHING CONFIRMED AT THIS POINT. BEEN DEALING WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE A CASE OPEN FOR MY COMPLAINT BUT NOW WAS JUST TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 2-3 WEEKS TO PULL MY MAINTENANCE RECORDS AND THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. ODDLY, ON NOVEMBER 26, 2018, THE DEALERSHIP HAD SENT OVER ALL OF THAT TO CORPORATE FOR APPROVAL TO ORDER/REPLACE/PAY FOR THE NEW ENGINE SO NOT SURE WHY IT WOULD TAKE THAT LONG. I AM NOW PAYING EVERY MONTH FOR A VEHICLE THAT I DON'T EVEN HAVE, JUST PAID ANOTHER $300 FOR REGISTRATION WHICH JUST COMPOUNDS THE FRUSTRATION. AT THIS POINT WITH THE COST OF A NEW ENGINE AND ANY OTHER POSSIBLE DAMAGE DONE FROM THE ENGINE SEIZING, IT WOULD BE CHEAPER FOR THEM TO JUST REPLACE MY VEHICLE BUT INSTEAD THEY KEEP DRAGGING IT OUT. MY KIDS COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED WITH AN ENGINE DYING ON A BUSY CALIFORNIA FWY AND NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY OR EMPATHETIC RESPONSE. IT IS UNDER WARRANTY, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINES WERE ON BACK ORDER FOR 4 WEEKS. THAT WAS ON 10/31/2018. AS OF TODAY (2/20/19), I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR. THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG IT WILL BE. I WILL BE GIVEN A REMANUFACTURED ENGINE WITH THE BALANCE OF MY FACTORY WARRANTY. I KNOW THAT THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AMONG TUCSON, SANTA FE AND SONATA MODELS. I BELIEVE THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON EVERYTHING BUT THE TUCSON'S. IT ALSO EFFECTS SOME KIA MODELS.

DEC. 14, 2018 WHILE DRIVING 50 M.P.H. MY 2014 HYUNDAI TUCSON ENGINE: 2.0L I4 DI WITH 113,000 MILES, MADE AN AWFUL SOUND THEN MOMENTS LATER, THE CAR ENGINE LOST ALL POWER, LIGHTS AND STEERING. I NEARLY CRASHED MY CAR. I WAS FORTUNATE NOT TO HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHO IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY ENGINE FAILED, SUDDENLY STOPPED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. BARELY MISSING THIS CAR, I THEN HAD TO CORRECT MY SKID THEN MAKE AN ABRUPT 90 RIGHT HAND TURN OFF THE HIGHWAY AND UP A STEEP DRIVEWAY, PRAYING IT WAS ENOUGH OF A INCLUDE TO SLOW MY CAR BRINGING MY CAR TO A SAFE STOP. MY PASSENGER WAS SHAKEN. UNABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE, THE KEY HAVING FAILED TO EVEN ILLUMINATE THE ENGINE LIGHTS AGAIN, I WAS FORCED TO CALL AND PAY FOR THE CAR TOWED BACK TO THE MY HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP IN LACONIA, N.H. WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE CAR ABOUT 2 1/2 YEARS, AND WITHIN 29,00 MILES BEFORE THE CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. AFTER FIVE DAYS I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ONLY TO FIND OUT THEN THAT THE HYUNDAI TUCSON'S ENGINE WAS BLOWN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO NEW HYUNDAI ENGINES AVAILABLE, (I SUSPECT THE SCARCITY IS LIKELY DUE TO THE THOUSANDS OF REPORTED ENGINE FAILURES OF THE HYUNDAI 2.0 ENGINE) AND, I WOULD NEED TO PURCHASE A JUNK YARD ENGINE WITH A WARRANTY. I CAN ONLY HOPE THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE 2014 HYUNDAI TUCSON CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE HAZARD CONVINCES THE NHTSB TO PERSUADE HYUNDAI USA, 2.0L I4 DI ENGINE, MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA TO RECALL ALL TUCSON MODELS WITH ENGINE, JOINING OTHER 2.0 ENGINES INSTALLED IN THE RECALLED SONATA AND SANTA FE MODELS WITH THE EXACT SAME ENGINE IN MY CAR. HYUNDAI PLACE SAFETY ABOVE ALL FOR THIS OTHERWISE AVOIDABLE SAFETY HAZARD IN THEIR MANUFACTURE PROCESS AND DESIGN OF WHAT OTHERWISE COULD BE A SAFE, RELIABLE CAR. HYUNDAI TUCSON RECALL. 2014 HYUNDAI ENGINE FAILURE. HYUNDAI USA ENGINE DIED.

Dec 27, 2018 Crash

WITHIN 24 HOURS OF HEARING KNOCKING AND TICKING IN MY ENGINE (WITH NO CODES OR SIGNALS SHOWING ANY ISSUES) THE ENGINE FAILED. THE NOISE COULD BE HEARD CONTINUOUSLY AT ANY SPEED FOR 24 HOURS. ONCE THE ENGINE FAILED WHILE I WAS TRYING TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT AND OIL LIGHT CAME ON. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 4 YEARS AND IT'S AT 103,000 MILES WITH CONSTANT OIL CHANGES AND NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THE TUSCON. IN FACT, IT HAS BRAND NEW OIL IN THERE NOW. THERE IS A RECALL OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SONATA, SANTA FE, AND OTHER KIA VEHICLES BUT NONE FOR THE TUSCON. TUSCON NEEDS TO BE INCORPORATED INTO THIS RECALL AND COVERED BY HYUNDAI. HYUNDAI IS INVESTIGATING THE ENGINE AND OIL PAN AREA NOW. RESULTS ARE PENDING.

JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ON HERE.... ENGINE STARTED MAKING A RATTLING NOISE AND GOT SIGNIFICANTLY LOUDER. CAR LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING. BROUGHT TO MECHANIC AND ENGINE IS BLOWN. SAME PROBLEM AS THE HYUNDAI LAWSUIT. BUT BECAUSE THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS MODEL (EVEN THOUGH IT HAS THE SAME ENGINE) IT ISNT COVERED

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 HYUNDAI TUCSON. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN UNKNOWN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO M J SULLIVAN HYUNDAI (452 BROAD STREET, NEW LONDON, CT 06320) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,325.

SAME THING AS THE OTHERS LISTED, ENGINE COMPLETELY LOCKED UP GOING DOWN THE ROAD, HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED, AND THE MECHANIC SAID THAT IT WAS TOTALLY GONE BECAUSE OF THE OIL. HYUNDAI WOULD NOT PAY FOR ANY OF IT, SINCE I AM THE SECOND OWNER AND THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY CAR. THE RECALL WAS FOR THE SAME EXACT MOTOR, SAME EXACT PROBLEM, JUST A DIFFERENT MODEL CAR.

MY 2014 TUCSON RECENTLY SUFFERED A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK LAST TUESDAY (9/18) ON A HIGHWAY WHEN I HEARD A BANG AND THEN THE CONSTANT RATTLING FROM MY ENGINE. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT I DIDN'T SEEM TO LOSE POWER AT CRUISING SPEEDS, BUT IT WAS STILL OBVIOUS THAT SOMETHING WAS VERY WRONG. I LIMPED IT THE 20 OR SO MILES TO MY LOCAL SERVICE CENTER WHERE IT'S NOW SITTING. FIRST THING THEY DID WAS CHECK THE DIP STICK AND IT WAS DRY. I HAVE MY OIL CHANGED REGULARLY, I'VE NEVER HAD BLUE SMOKE OUT THE BACK, NO OIL SPOTS, NO SIGN OF EVEN THE SLIGHTEST OIL LEAK. SO FOR THE DIP STICK TO BE DRY WAS ALARMING. I SPENT THE NEXT DAY CALLING AROUND TO HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS TO SEE WHAT OPTIONS I'D HAVE. I COMMUTE ABOUT 70 MILES FOR WORK, MY TUCSON IS AT 130K MILES SO IT'S WELL BEYOND THE 100K WARRANTY. HAVING THE ENGINE REPLACED WAS BASICALLY MY ONLY OPTION.

BOUGHT CAR IN DEC 2017. JULY 8, 2018, CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING. NO ISSUES BEFORE THIS EVENT. NO WARNING, CARE JUST WENT UP IN FLAMES STARTING FROM UNDER THE CAR/THE ENGINE. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ON OTHER MODELS OF HYUNDAI CARS, BUT THEY DO NOT INCLUDE HYUNDAI TUSCONS. I THINK THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE DUE TO THIS CAR.

WHILE DRIVING ON I-40 NEAR RALEIGH, I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS CONTINUED TO OPERATE, BUT THERE WAS NO ENGINE POWER. AFTER PULLING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I TRIED RESTARTING THE ENGINE SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT WOULDN'T RESTART. A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TESTED THE ENGINE AND SAID IT HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE'S MILEAGE WAS 82,000 MILES SO WILL BE COVERED BY HYUNDAI WARRANTY. HOWEVER, DUE TO A BACKLOG ON PARTS, HYUNDAI HAS ADVISED IT COULD BE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE.

WHILE DRIVING THE TUCSON WALKING DEAD EDITION WE NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WAS MAKING A GRINDING NOICE AND HAD TROUBLE ACCELLERATING. WE EVEN TRIED TO SHIFT IT AND STILL HAD PROBLEMS. WE DROVE IT RIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THEY HAD TO CHECK THIS OUT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS EVEN ON. THEY CALLED A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND TOLD ME THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE.

MY 2014 HYUNDAI TUCSON'S ENGINE BURNED OIL AND NOW THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AT ONLY 108,000 MILES. I RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL HAS THE SAME ENGINE AS MY WIFE'S RECALLED 2014 HYUNDAI SONATA. HER CAR IS ALSO BURNING OIL AND IS NOW GOING THROUGH TESTS TO DETERMINE IF THEY NEED TO REPLACE HER ENGINE. IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE A CASE NUMBER WITH HYUNDAI. HYUNDAI CAN'T ANSWER WHY MY MODEL HASN'T BEEN RECALLED YET. I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND A PRIVATE FACEBOOK PAGE OF OTHER HYUNDAI TUCSON OWNERS WITH BLOWN ENGINES. IF MY CAR WAS RECALLED LIKE MY WIFE'S CAR I WOULD STILL BE UNDER WARRANTY AS THEY EXTENDED HER TO 120,000 MILES DUE TO RECALL. MY CAR IS 8000 MILES OUT OF THE WARRANTY WHEN MY ENGINE BLEW. WE'RE STILL WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM HYUNDAI CORPORATE AS TO WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH MY CAR. MEANWHILE STILL PAYING A LOAN ON A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE. DISGUSTED AND FURIOUS ARE JUST THE BEGINNING OF HOW I FEEL.

VEHICLE ENGINE SHUT DOWN 2018 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER RAN A COMPRESSION TEST AND SCOPED THE ENGINE AND FOUND THE CYLINDER WALLS SCORED. PRIOR TO THIS BACK IN 2016 ANOTHER ENGINE ISSUE REGARDING THE ENGINE CARRYING HARNESS WAS ADDRESSED & FIXED. LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN NOV 2013/I AM THE 1ST & ONLY OWNER, I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN THE SPRING AT IT CUTOFF. I REACHED OUT TO THE RACINE WI HYUNDAI SERVICE CENTER OVER A YEAR IN ORDER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING, THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THAT YEAR AS WELL AS MY TOWING THE VEHICLE TO HYUNDAI MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE ISSUE WAS FOUND & FIXED I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE SPECIFIC ENGINE IN MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED BUT SOMEHOW MY VEHICLE DID NOT MEET THE ENGINE RECALL QUALIFICATION. HOW? WHEN BEFORE I CAN EVEN FINISH PAYING OFF THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE HAS HAD 2 DIFFERENT PROBLEMS WITH THE 2ND PROBLEM RENDERING THE ENGINE USELESS. 6 MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW, IT STARTED CUTTING OFF

NOTICED AN ENGINE KNOCKING NOISE AND SLIGHT LURCHING OF CAR AFTER A COLD START. TOOK IT TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS AND MAINTENANCE AND THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY SHORT BLOCK FOR FIVE OR SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS VERY SOON OR MY ENGINE WOULD SEIZE UP. THEY MENTIONED THAT MY CAR'S SYMPTOMS WERE IDENTICAL TO THOSE OF THE HYUNDAI MODELS THAT HAVE A RECALL FOR THEIR ENGINES, NAMELY THICK OIL WITH DEBRIS IN IT. MY 2014 TUCSON USES THE EXACT SAME ENGINE AS THE ONE CURRENTLY BEING RECALLED SO I THINK IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL ENOUGH COMPLAINTS ACCUMULATE THAT THE TUCSON IS RECOGNIZED AS BEING EFFECTED BY THE SAME ISSUE AS THE OTHER MODELS USING THIS ENGINE.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR AT 55 MPH, THE ENGINE DIED COMPLETELY AND I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE CARS FUNCTIONS. IT COULD NOT BE THAT THE BATTERY DIED, SINCE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WOULD NOT START BACK UP, THE LIGHTS, NAVIGATION AND RADIO WE ALL STILL ON AND WORKING. I THOUGH IT WAS A STRANGE AND DANGEROUS SITUATION BUT FIGURED IT WAS A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE. THIS HAPPEN ON SEPTEMBER 9TH OF 2016. SINCE THEN, THE CAR HAS DIED WHILE IN MOTION 4 MORE TIMES, BECOMING MORE FREQUENT AFTER EACH OCCURRENCE. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY KEPT IT OVERNIGHT. I ALREADY HAD SOMEONE AT AN ADVANCED AUTO PARTS STORE TEST MY BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER, AND ALL OF THOSE CHECKED OUT FINE. I SHOULD ALSO MENTION THAT WHENEVER THE CAR DID DIE WHILE I WAS DRIVING, THERE WAS NO WARNING THAT IT WAS GOING TO DIE AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS CAME ON BEFORE AFTER IT WOULD DIE. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALWAYS START UP AGAIN AFTER WAITING A FEW MINUTES. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THAT EACH TIME IT HAS HAPPENED I WAS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN ANY DANGER OF HITTING SOMEONE, BUT I GUESS I WAS JUST LUCKY FOR THAT. AFTER TESTING THE CAR, I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THEIR TESTING OF THE COMPUTER REVEALED THAT NO PROBLEMS HAD OCCURRED. THIS IS MOST LIKELY DUE TO NO WARNING LIGHTS COMING ON WHEN IT HAPPENED SO WHEN THEY TESTED IT, NOTHING APPEARED SAYING THE CAR HAD DIED. THEY WERE TOTALLY FINE WITH GIVING ME THE CAR BACK AFTER NOT BEING ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM THEY ARE ALLOWING ME TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A DANGEROUS VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP YESTERDAY AND TO WORK TODAY WITHOUT EXPERIENCING ANY NEW PROBLEMS SO I AM HOPING THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED SOMEHOW. IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN I KNOW I WILL NOT BE BRINGING IT BACK TO THAT SERVICE CENTER.

THE CAR ALSO HESITATES ON OCCASION WHEN FROM A STOP I STEP ON THE GAS THEN TAKES OFF. THEY SAYS IT'S CHARACTERISTIC OF THE CAR AND WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE IN THE 3 MILE RIDE WE TOOK THEY SENT ME HOME WITH IT I FEEL THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
