My 2016 Hyundai Tucson experienced engine failure consistent with known Hyundai engine defects. After reporting multiple battery outages, rapid oil consumption, and limited acceleration ability, outstanding warranties were checked and updated. However, the issues persisted, and the engine failed suddenly while I was driving. Hyundai denied warranty coverage without proof of the issues being unrelated to the warranty. This presents a serious safety hazard due to unexpected engine failure.
car often does not accelerate when hitting the gas. Was turning onto highway from a stop car did not accelerate causing other vehicle to swerve to avoid hitting me as my car would not move. Couple seconds later it moved
As I was driving I was stopped & told my car was on fire. I immediately stopped & hopped out & less than 30 seconds later half of the hood caught heat/fire & flew into the windshield breaking it. At least half The car is burnt to ashes
While driving, on multiple occasions all warning lights will come on and the car will start to lose power. The headlights constantly go off and come back on randomly. Turn the blinker on and the rear window wipers intermittently come on. The vehicle has been towed to the dealership so many times and we either get “can’t duplicate” or needs oil change, which had just been done. Now we are being told that we need a second engine replacement. Unfortunately this time it will not be covered by warranty. We have reached out to Hyundaii Motors 3 times and the BBB Auto but they stand behind it not qualifying for the Lemon Law. Hyundai should have some obligation as all these issues are “known issues” just not recalls. The 2016 Hyundai Tucson is not a safe vehicle.
Front passenger door will not open using the key fob. It has to be opened from the inside door handle. If there was an accident the door would not be able to open from the outside. This is a serious safety issue. There have been numerous issues with this problem. Hyundai should recall these vehicles for this safety issue
For about a year I have had issues with my car not accelerating in stop and go traffic. I push the gas pedal and it moves a little then will not go for about 20 seconds. Sometimes the engine will flutter. I have taken it to Hyundai and was told no diagnostic codes show and they can't find anything wrong despite bringing the reports from my auto shop of these things occuring. My car is going in yet again this week because this issue continues to get worse and I have almost caused several accidents in traffic due to not being able to drive. There is a recall however Hyundai says my car is not in the recall despite the same issues the recall is for. I have all routine service done when needed and have taken care of this vehicle but I feel like Hyundai should step up because this is very dangerous not only for myself but other commuters as well. The Hyundai dealership literally said they just have the sign on their building they don't support these issues
My catalytic converter caught on fire a couple months back then I hit a code for the knock sensor replaced it and it started to act up again I can’t go over 49 burning oil took it to Hyundai now they are saying my engine is going out and I’m still panting carmart got the car
i bought the car used, i took it in for diagnostics on my transmission. they claimed i needed a new one, not claiming i need a new clutch. my car’s model and year match the DCT recall problems. but not the vin. when my car was in the heat or accelerating it had the same issues listed. i believe this is a manufacturing issue.
While driving I noticed my ABS, Traction Control, AEB, and a couple of other lights came on. Upon restarting my car it was still there but the lights went away on their own after a few minutes of driving. They have been periodically turning and and off as I've driven the past couple of days. I went to the local mechanic shop who performed a diagnostic and found it to be a faulty left rear wheel speed sensor. When researching online, I've come across many people with the same make, model, and year as my car that have experienced this issue.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the transmission started slipping while accelerating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V628000 (Power Train, Electrical System). The contact called an independent mechanic who provided a printout of a recall. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

The front passenger window regulator failed in Jan 2025. Before the complete fail, the power window was becoming sluggish when lowered/raised. I just paid $1,000 to have the dealer repair. I have seen dozens of online items regarding the identical issue. I consider it a safety issue because of easy entry to the vehicle interior and contents, including inclement weather that can damage interior electrical components
The front passenger and rear window regulators failed within 1 month of each other without any warning or symptoms. After inspection, it was identified that the plastic window regulator was completely shattered within the door. There was no damage to my vehicle that could have caused this. With the window regulator not working, my windows were not able to be opened or closed. The front window regulator actually got stuck in a down position. After some additional research online, I found several others who have had the same issues with the window regulators on their 2016 Hyundai Tucsons. This is a safety hazard because if I were ever be in an accident or a place where I need to exit through my windows and they are unable to go up and down for a safe exit. I have spent over $1600 in repairs to fix an issue that is clearly a defective part in the windows.
Rear passenger door won’t open from inside or outside. Safety concern
There is a lot of oil consumption, and the turbo is shot. It sits in the back of the engine, which is not collecting air.
I’m the original owner of a 2016 Hyundai Tucson with 72,000 miles. I’ve recently encountered an issue where the front passenger side window is stuck down and won’t move. I’ve had it diagnosed at the dealership and found that this seems to be a common issue with this model year, related to the window regulator. I understand my vehicle is slightly out of the 5-year/60,000-mile warranty, however; this issue has made my car vulnerable to weather damage and theft, and it’s affecting my ability to use it safely. I’ve always maintained my vehicle according to Hyundai’s recommendations, and I believe this failure is premature for a part like this.
Three weeks ago my dash board lit up like an orange Christmas Tree, with "ABS failure" warnings. I found the Hyundai recall notice in our car file. It said that when the dash warnings appeared, the danger of an engine fire was imminent and that should contact the Dealer that I bought the car from (Hyundai Motors- Naples, Florida-USA). I did so. personally. An appt. was scheduled. This morning (Fri. 11/15/24)upon arrival, a pleasant young woman informed me that Hyundai sent out lots of notices like this, but they didn't apply to my vehicle. I showed her the recall notice with my car's Vin number printed on it. She went back to her boss who told her "We fixed that for him three years ago," Now, I am not certain of anything, but I NEVER brought the car in for an ABS system fix three years ago. I didn't know that I even had an "ABS" system until three weeks back, when the dash board lit up. Politely, I asked the young woman to bring my car back out, as we were done. She offered to make another appointment to "look" at the dash indicators." I said" No, we are done." So, now what do I do? Is the car safe to drive or not? I own and operate an older Hyundai Santa Fe as well. I would be appreciative of your advice. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. The Tucson is a good car. I just don't want it to blow up on me. [XXX] , Florida-USA INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Front passenger door won’t open Defroster/heat won’t work on drivers side
Purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson with approx. 79,000. Was driving with all windows down one day. From the driver side window switch panel, I attempted to roll up the rear, left window.. The window would not roll up. The window rolls down when using the driver’s window switches for the left, rear window, but will not roll up. The rear left window switch will operate the window up and down only. Discovered this problem when going through a drive through car wash and the window would not roll up. Needless to say, the interior of my car got a good cleaning that day.
3 of my window motors do not work and my windows now will not roll up or down.
Passenger window regulator went out, then my window and my back passenger window went out and now I have 2 windows that cannot stay up and have paper holding them up.
All four window regulators have failed. The plastic gear has totally disintegrated and has had to be replaced. I have noticed that this has been reported by customers numerous times. I hope that we may be reimbursed for the failure of the part since it is very, very common among these models. I have retained all receipts for parts and labor.
Driver window won’t go up & front passenger window won’t go down.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle lunged forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that when the vehicle was stopped, after depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated and then lunged forward. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V628000 (Power Train, Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

I own a 2016 Hyundai Tucson and have noticed that NONE of the doors other than the driver door will open either from the inside or outside. I have small children that I drive to and from school, activities. If we were to get into a wreck or were to run off rode into a body of water my children could drown or die due to doors not opening. This seems to be a very common issue with Hyundai and needs to be addressed and recalled and fixed by dealership immediately!
Three of the four windows will not roll up and down.
Ever since I bought my vehicle off the lot, my oil has been burning and/or leaking from the engine. I have been having to put oil in every 2-3 weeks. Also as a result of the oil problem, the oil gets on the spark plugs and coils and erodes them causing them to burn out every 6 months. The first instance I had with this problem was on a road trip to Texas from Tennessee alone. All four spark plugs began faltering on the highway where the speed limit was 75mph, easily a dangerous situation for a malfunctioning engine. I had to pay to repair my vehicle the next day and it totaled to a little under $600. I have been checking for recalls on my specific vehicle for months but have seen none, despite there being similar recalls on other Hyundai vehicles. The electrical problem I’ve been experiencing is the windows start falling in to the doors or don’t roll down at all. Currently I have three windows with this problem, one of which I have had repaired.
My rear passenger door will not open from the inside or outside. My front passenger door has difficulties opening, I have to try to handle a few times. The front passenger door has been since I purchased the vehicle in 2022 but the rear passenger vehicle just started 5/2/24. The alternator has already been replaced as of 2022 and the front passenger motor has already been replaced as of April 2024 because the window stopped going up. And all of these have been at my expense!! I have read owner blogs that have all of these same issues. This is a HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. What if there is an emergency and I can't get my child safely out of his car seat? These issues, especially the door actuators, needs to be a recall and fixed immediately at no expense to the owners.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. So far I had to have both the front driver side and passenger side window regulators replaced. I just recently noticed that both of my back windows do not work. I currently have an appointment with the Hyundai dealer to replace both of the back window regulators. I drive around with a piece of duck tape holding the back windows up. Hyundai has to know that this is a problem. Hyundai requires an anti theft recall but it’s useless as anyone can pull my windows down by force due to broken regulator in each door. Insanely ridiculous and unsafe.
I was driving home from work and heard knocking sound come from engine. No sensors came on to alert me of any problem. I pulled over and checked oil. There was no oil and it was not due for oil change for another 1,000 miles. Oil is always changed between 3-5K miles. Took it to Gettel Hyundai dealership where it was purchased. They are unable to explain what or why this happened. Took claim out with Hyundai as there is only 60K miles. Hyundai and dealership offered no help because warranty had ended. Just told me it needed a new engine for $8K. Hyundai corporate denied claim also citing lack of service. That is not a valid reason and makes no sense. We provided every paper receipt showing diligent oil changes and required mile maintenance. They never bothered to do an engine oil burning test. After researching this online there is a well-known problem with these engines burning oil. There was no oil leaking. Why did NO sensor alert me there was no oil? This seems like a major safety concern. Hyundai is refusing to take responsibility for this problem and needs to address this properly. This car engine should be recalled.
Window regulator is not working in all the Windows I spend more 1000 dolars just to fixed the front ones still waiting to have money to fix the back ones the parts are made from cheap material this should be a recall
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that after the vehicle came to a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle lurched forward but hesitated to accelerate immediately. An unknown warning light illuminated, and the check engine warning light was later illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who retrieved DTC Code: P073F (Unable to Engage Gear 1), but no repair was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V628000 (Power Train, Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

When both driving and idling, the car will either stall or feel like it is about to stall, when all of a sudden the vehicle “pauses” for a second and then all of the dashboard lights come on. This has now happened at least 4 times in the past month. It will reset after turning the car off, but on more than one occasion after turning the car off, the engine doesn’t restart right away. Thankfully, the car has restarted and it resets the dashboard lights. My safety is a concern if my car stalls while driving at any speed! I have yet to take it to the dealer, as there’s a VERY long wait for an appointment - another recurring issue. No one has inspected this for me, and it is very concerning. There is plenty of evidence that this is happening to others in both online forums and Hyundai owners sites online.
The engine began to make a knocking noise. Upon our inspection, the vehicle had lost all oil. Vehicle was towed to our local dealership. Dealership informed us a bearing had become worn causing rapid oil loss and a rod to break, sending metal shards into the engine compartment. Engine could have seized up or caught on fire, had the vehicle continued to run. Dealership informed us of other Hyundai recalls for the same issue, however we were told our year/make/model was not included. Vehicle had been at same dealership 2 months prior for a heat/AC issue and a complete inspection was completed. No indication of bearing, oil, or engine issue was noted. No warning lights came on at any point.
Engine heating problems, electrical problems and now engine failure, the vehicle is no longer safe to drive. The vehicle is available for inspection. Other vehicles of same make, model, and year have been recalled for these issues however mine has not. I feel it has the same types of issues and safety concerns which should be recalled. The issues began with electrical problems inside the vehicle, random check engine lights coming on then off and other lights popping up in the dash board, the car was not accelerating properly, took the car in and they could not find a problem or fix it. The engine began heating and the speed of vehicle was also being affected. The car would randomly slow down quickly while on the highway at 70 MPH which happened a couple of times and was not safe at all, it could have caused a horrible accident. I could not accelerate enough to stay on the highway. That issue was fixed when we took the vehicle into the dealership to fix and should have been a recall as other cars where having the same issue. Hyundai should be held responsible for issues such as this that are affecting many other Hyundai Tucson drivers. Oil keeps depleting and the engine is burning through fast, also another concern and safety issue as that causes the engine to over heat and potentially cause a fire. A loud noise is coming from the vehicle, sounds like a helicopter it happened suddenly with no check engine light or warning. I'm concerned this car could catch fire, many Tucson's have had warning of catching fire. I don't park in our garage or even in the driveway for fear of that happening although they state ours is not supposed to be affected all these vehicle issues are telling me otherwise. Engine is now dead. This is unacceptable. Windows cannot be rolled down after multiple fixes that I paid for. Hyundai's poor production, manufacturing and quality control is unacceptable, please hold them responsible. Too much money has been spent on issues with no real results.

Front passenger door and rear passenger door will not open from the inside or outside. This is a major safety issue if someone has to get out in an emergency. I searched online and there are a ton of issues with the 2016 Hyundai Tucson in regards to the locking mechanisms in the doors.
None of my windows will go down. Vehicle has less than 25,000 miles.
Body: my vehicle has experienced a malfunction in the front passenger side door. This door does not open from the outside, regardless of it being unlocked. The failure occurs 99% of attempts to open said door. A repair was made by the dealer I purchased it from, yet the issue returned within a month. First incident: February 2022. Electrical: My vehicle has also experienced malfunctions in all four windows. The initial malfunction occurred in July 2023, when the front driver side window would not go down. Within a week of having the window regulator and motor replaced professionally, the window regulator failed again (would not go back up after being let down)-- with an additional failure in the front passenger side window regulator. The part was replaced for the second time by a different independent service provider. This time, the failure occurred when I inspected the service providers work. The part was reordered and replaced yet again. However; the service provider made me aware that the issue had occured again, shortly after they repaired it and began testing it. The window was blocked off to keep it from sliding down. The issue is now present in all four windows. Each time it is repaired, the window regulator drum gears are stripped within 3-4 uses. - Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. - failure/malfunction was inspected and confirmed by two different independent service providers. - there were no warning lights or signals aside from the initial failure leading to a failure in all four windows.
My car has an engine oil leak that has been happening for over a year now since I bought it. I have to change my oil every 2,000 miles because of the leak, when Ive been told this car should be changing its oil for every 7,000 miles. My passenger door no longer opens from the outside once my car is unlocked. I have to put my window down in order to get inside and this is a safety hazard.

The windows of the 2016 Hyundai Tuscan go down and then the regulator went bad at that exact moment causing the windows to not go up, while driving on the highway. It is available for inspection. On a highway, I was going the speed limit between 65-70 MPH when I put one window down and attempted to put the window back up but I couldn’t. The pressure gets unbalanced and therefore impacts the drivers ears and passengers. I couldn’t even drive without the need to grab my ears because of the pressure. I had to pull over because the window wouldn’t go back up and the other windows wouldn’t go up after trying to balance the pressure in the car. I had to think quick and get on the side of the highway to figure out what happened. My ears wouldn’t stop popping and I couldn’t get back on the highway to get home. I had to drive slow off the following exit because the pain in my ears was so bad. This is a safety issue and isn’t the first time seeing this happen to people. The problem occurred out of nowhere, there were no warning signs and no indication this was going to happen. I confirmed my suspicions by going to a mechanic locally and sought out the issue being the regulator. This cannot be on consumers to repair. Out of all the issues that have been announced about this issue country wide, I’m surprised this has not been brought up before. This happened on 9/18/23 at night going home with my children. They had to cover their ears because of the pressure. I did not call the police or insurance company as I had not been in an accident. That doesn’t not mean this should be taken lightly. Had I not had thought of my kids in my car and thought quickly to pull over, we would have crashed.
Recently the transmission was replaced because the original one was defective. After a couple of weeks, I had turned on the clean air control and it started blowing cold air, so I turned the heater control higher, and the air was even colder. I don't know why this started happening all of a sudden. I'm the type of driver that rarely turns on the heater or air conditioning, I always use the recycle air button that pulls from off the engine and from outside.
I bought a used 2016 Hyundai Tucson locally. Had the car 3 days, & both rear window actuators had to be replaced. Had the car a week, oil pump/pan seal failed. Then the rear seal fail. Then the boot on the right CV joint failed. The aAC started blowing hot on the passenger side, while cold on the driver side, but I DON’T have dual controls for the temperature & it’s full. Bluetooth randomly connects/disconnects. Gas gauge is inaccurate says 40 miles left & then suddenly your light is on & it says you’ve 20. REPEATEDLY replaced my brake light bulbs/front turn signal bulbs, several times within a few months of each other, often on the same side. Having my phone plugged into the charging ports, the phone often overheats to the point of being too hot to touch. Even placed out of the sun’s rays, & shaded. Must pull front passenger door 2x externally before it will open. RR passenger door you can pull all day/push from inside /outside, doesn’t matter, WON’T OPEN.The car is equipped with a CVT, which allows you to shift manually if needed. Then the transmission refused to shift automatically. No codes would show. Today car died on me in the middle of the road, while I was turning, check engine is on, & car refuses to start. I was almost hit by cross traffic from both directions. A few people drove around me, before two very nice young men pushed my car out of the middle of the road onto the shoulder of a county road, on a holiday weekend. If not for a Good Samaritan, I’d have been walking 6 miles home in the dark. I’m almost 50, & a woman, & diabetic. The car has plenty of oil & coolant. Tried putting the car in neutral, still won’t start. Air filter is clean. Battery is good. Says it has gas; 40 miles til empty. Car tries to turn over but won’t catch. Tachometer will barely register to the line above zero, & even giving it gas makes NO difference. Have been told it is the timing & transmission. Dealer won’t honor extended warranty. Car has “just” passed Hyundai warranty.
The front passenger window failed to work. A week later drivers window failed to work. A week after repairing the two front windows the rear passenger side window failed to work. The failure of windows working is breaking of plastic regulators by faulty manufacturing parts. There should be a recall on these regulations. This is a safety issue!
The back left driver side door locked and can't be opened by any means. Child lock not on.
The right driver side door does not open from the outside after the car has been locked then unlocked using the key fob. Removing the key manually from the fob does not get the door to open. The only way to open the door from the outside is to leave the vehicle unlocked or to open it from the inside after going through another door.
Both of my back doors will not open from the inside or out. Thanks to youtube I watched videos on how to open doors from the inside I had to pull latch and then stick screwdriver in there to lift cable up up door would open. This is very dangerous for doors to not open up, taking time to use a screwdriver to open them up is ridiculous, according to youtube the cable was made too short. I called the manufacturer and they gave me a price of 700-1200.00 to fix. I really think this should be a recall. If someone in back needs to get out in emergency situation then they are stuck.
Complete Engine failure under 100k miles. Electrical issues with toggle switches
Window and motor regulators both went out in 1-2 weeks apart may 2023
Passenger doors do not physically open when unlocked from outside and inside. Known stretched cable problems, with hundreds of complaints when doing a Google search. Elderly parents cannot yank hard enough to get them open by brute force. God forbid if there was an accident, you would not be able to open to door from inside to get out and others from outside would not be able to open either to assist. Rolling death trap. Hyundai Korea knows about the door cable problem and fixes it for free. USA wants you to pay $400 per door to fix. Shame on you Hyundai USA!!!
While running errands in her 2016 Hyundai Tucson my wife rolled down her front driver and passenger side windows. When she encountered rain she attempted to roll both windows up, but the passenger side window would not roll up, causing a dangerous distraction where heavy rain was entering the vehicle while she was driving. Our mechanic inspected this part and said that the gears controlling the window were made of plastic which had been shredded over time and that the motor itself showed signs of corrosion. The vehicle is only 7 years old and has been well maintained, so i can't understand why this part failed so easily. Our mechanic informed us that this is a VERY common issue with Hyundai vehicles and that parts would be hard to come by because of high demand. This issue is available for inspection upon request and has been inspected by a licensed mechanic. There were no dash warnings associated with this issue.
I've reported last year that I have an oil consumption problem. The car is not leaking to the ground. It's leaking within the car.I have replaced 2 catalyc converters in the past 2 years! The dealership ignores my requests and seems real shady. They rather I pay every year.I already feel it not working correctly,Its only been since October 2022,since i replaced the converter.I have contacted the corporation at Hyundai and nothing. They were a waste of time.I contacted the BAR and they were not much help either.I am spending constantly on this car with the same issue. What a lemon.Hyundai Corporation has to be held accountable for the mistakes.Thank you.
-Driver side and passenger side back doors do not open from the inside or outside. They just stopped opening one day, months apart. Nothing hit them or could have caused a jam. It is available for inspection upon request. -The doors don’t open, and I could not get my dog or child from out of the backseat. -This is a recurring problem based on what I have read online. The issue has been confirmed by a mechanic. -The doors were inspected by Caliber Collision and I got a quote from them. -There were no lights or warnings to inform me this was going to happen and still none now that it has happened. -
Unable to move the car while in traffic. The car slows down in traffic creating the possibility of accidents/crashes. The car will not go forward and only moves in reverse.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon Limited Turbo which I bought USED in August of 2018. The same week I left the lot I returned multiple times complaining that the car was hesitating and seemed like the transmission was having problems. The car would hesitate to go from a stop, several times leaving me and my infant (at the time) in the middle of intersections crossing traffic and unable to move. It almost got us SLAMMED multiple times. I explained this to them and they just kept telling me it was because of the turbo. I said NO ONE in their right mind would manufacture a car that goes fast at the cost of safety. That was insane to me but they kept sending me home. I returned over and over and over again for the entire 1st year I had the car with no resolution. Eventually, I also discovered issues if I had to brake hard, several times almost running into the back of people and on 08/08/2020 I actually DID slam into the back of someone. I got to eat the cost of the insurance claim - only later to find out that there was a recall on the ABS system which I believe caused the accident. In 2020 when the transmission died, they replaced it under warranty. It took 49 days to replace, meanwhile I have an infant and riding a bus and riding my bike everywhere because the dealer did not help me with a rental or loaner. Then a year later in the middle of 2021 the engine died which they replaced under warranty, this time providing me with a rental for only a short time of the month long situation. Also racked up tow and tow storage bills exceeding $500 because it broke down on a major road in the middle of the night. Now, on 03/11/2023 I heard a sound coming from the engine which sounded like a cat screaming, coupled with severe hesitation when trying to accelerate. Took it to the dealer and they refuse to fix it, said the warranty company declined it. Called Hyundai Corporate and they said the same thing. Called warranty company and they said NO ONE EVER SUBMITTED A CLAIM!!!!!
THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE STOPPED WORKING AND WAS STUCK DOWN. I HAD TO HAVE A LARGE PIECE OF THE DOOR REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE WAY THAT HYUNDAI MANUFACTURES THE PART WHICH CAUSED IT TO BE A VERY COSTLY REPAIR AS WELL. LESS THAN 6 MONTHS LATER, THE BACK WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE HAS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
2016 Hyundai Tucson was stolen on 3/23/2023 in Denver, CO. We were just at the dealership on 3/15/2023 in Edmond, OK and we were not notified of the issue of the vehicle being susceptible to being easily stolen due to the negligence of Hyundai. We were not offered a computer update or steering wheel lock. The dealership was negligent in not informing us of the issue with the engine immobilizer. Now we’re dealing with the aftermath of a stolen vehicle that was recovered damaged due the the negligence of Hyundai. They should have to cover expenses associated with their negligence. They knew about the issue with the lack of engine immobilizer.
When doors are unlocked, driver door outside handle will not open the door. It can be opened from the inside. No safety concern currently. Problem was reproducible by dealer technician and he stated he has a similar issue and showed me to hit below the handle with my fist. This is not a fix! When we took our Tucson for a warranty issue regarding the engine, we notified the technician of the problem and they failed to address the issue. This issue happened out of number-to-bumper warranty. I have read many forum articles by many owners that Hyundai will charge between &100 and $200 to diagnose the problem before fixing them charge for the component and labor to fix the issue. No warnings have appeared regarding the problem.
In the past six months, three of the four window regulators on my 2016 Hyundai Tucson stopped working. Recently, one of my windows fell out while driving on the highway. Looks like this is a manufacturing defect as hundreds of complaints have been reported on the internet. The vehicle needs to be recalled as this seems to be a common problem in most 2016 Tucsons and poses significant risks while driving, especially on highways at high speeds. I’ve included some exact complaints for your reference here: https://www.vehiclehistory.com/questions/why-is-my-hyundai-tucson-2016-window-not-working-353123 I hope this problem gets resolved soon. Thank you.
This vehicle model (Hyundai Tucson) is prone to breakdowns in power windows, especially front power windows, due to faulty gear in window regulator unit. Online forums are all complaining about this issue and the replacement part (regulator unit with motor) is being sold on Amazon and Ebay, a sure sign of high demand for the part. This is a dangerous safety issue as the first route of escape in an accident when door cannot be opened is the front windows. The cost to replace the part with labor is around $500 per window so many owners will rather live with the potentially dangerous issue without making repairs. There should be a recall issued by Hyundai to repair inoperable windows and to reimburse owners who have already made repairs.
Without any warning, previous issues or unusual sounds, the REAR, passenger window would not roll up. I had a child in the backseat at the time, which was the first concern and the second being a security issue after the fact. In addition, after doing some research it sounds as though this is an ongoing issue with the Hyundai's (all windows) and should be considered for Manufacture Recall. Lastly(just as an "FYI")the replacement parts can not be found for the REAR window specifically which further confirms that the window motor &/or regulator in the Hyundai's are faulty.
There have been several incidents where my Hyundai Tucson could have caused a major accident with another vehicle. The first time, I was driving down a hill and I barely could control the car. It began to jerk and I had to gradually steer it into another lane out of traffic. Another time, the oil just began to spout out from under the car while I was driving. It's still difficult keeping oil in the car, but the mechanic says there's no leak. Lastly. my engine light has been blinking off and on , and the mechanic changed the spark plugs and a number 2 coil, but I am still having engine problems. I was given the engine code P1326 from their diagnosis. Since purchasing the car with only about 43000 miles, I have had to replace the transmission, catalytic converter. get a tune up, spark plugs and a coil, and get the drivers side window fixed. All of this has come to over $5000, and now I'm told the engine needs to be replaced. Something about the camshaft.
When locking all doors and then unlocking doors the passenger door will not open from the outside. You can open it from the inside however in an accident or fire, no one could open this door. Very dangerous and I have seen numerous complaints about the door locking/latch issues
Window stuck in down position - forums full of this defect with repairs costing $500+ per window; windows protect you from weather and debris and when stuck up or down present a safety hazard.
Window motors, modules and regulators go out frequently (shortly after warranty ends). This usually happens one window after another in short time & is a very costly fix of $500+ per window.
The main power switch to the power windows is not operating properly. After extensive research into the problem I have noticed this is a frequent issue on the 2016 Hyundai Tucson. A severe thunderstorm had started and when I tried to put the passenger side rear window up it would not work. Now the front passenger window is doing the same thing. The individual switches work but not the main switch on the driverside door. It brings the window down but will not go back up. I have to use the actual window switch on that door to raise them back up. I have not been to the dealer yet about this issue but feel there needs to be a recall for this item as 100's of other owners are complaining of the same issue on Hynudai forum sites. The 2016 Hyundai Tucson model has been the center of several other recalls and I feel this needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the RPM increased; however, the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. There was an update performed on the transmission control module before; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing; however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V628000 (Power Train, Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

Vacuum pump was recalled back in 2019 - T3C: TL Tucson Vacuum Pump (19-01-010H). My car was “repaired” to fix the seal/cap. However, today the vacuum pump needs to be replaced. The engine light, brake assist and traction control lights all came on and stayed on. After talking with Hyundai it appears as though back when the recall occurred, the minimum was repaired and proper replacement of the part was not taken. Hyundai says they are no longer required to remedy the problem because they already addressed the recall back in 2019. Is there any action enforceable to take toward Hyundai to honor a complete repair of the recall rather than just slap a band-aid on it?
While back out of my driveway in my 2016 hyundai tucson, it suddenly accelerated on its own out of control rendering me helpless and just along for the ride. Finally stopped while in reverse the car went across the street crashing violently into my neighbors boat and engine was still reving until I shut it off after the crash. Both my car and neighbors boat had major damage.
Right Rear Tail Light Wiring Harness has short. Since right turn single bulb replaced twice, Passenger side rear door window stripped the Teflon Gear on door Interior panel and door handle is not operational! Since problem started, passenger door handle and window is non Operational, Drivers side door and Window is Not Operational! 2016 Hyundai Tucson with 31,000 miles! Dealership, Billingsley Hyundai and Ford refuse to repair saying it’s out Of Warrenty February’22! Vehicle has an electrical short and has had since 2019 when Right Turn Signal bulb continues to burn out!
Window motors and regulators are prone to failure. All 4 of the window motors/regulators have failed within the past year. Apparently the regulator is made of plastic and falls apart easily. As a result, the windows can no longer be operated, and they can be moved up and down by hand from the exterior of the vehicle. Safety is at risk because the integrity of the windows are compromised. In some cases windows will fall down during normal operation of the vehicle. No warning lamps were illuminated during this failure. Note another complaint here: https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/window-regulator-2016-hyundai-tucson.671843/
Rear driver side door will not unlock either by electronic or manual manuvers - Locked in senario. Passenger door wont unlock electrinically but manually can open with handle.
I was on my way to work as normal. There were no warning lamps or other notifications/signs of a problem when all of a sudden, my vehicle started decelerating. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw smoke. I immediately pulled over and the smoke increased. Within a matter or seconds flames started to shoot out from under the hood. I don't know if the fire started from something electrical or engine-related but it spread fast! Before the police and fire truck arrived at the scene, my car was engulfed in flames! This was a terrifying and horrific experience! Prior to this, I had to replace all of the motors on the windows and noticed the jerky movements when driving in Turbo mode that I was told was normal. I didn't even have the car for 2 years! When I contacted Hyundai about the windows, they did nothing and the Rep referred me to get rid of it! I should have listened.
Driver side window will not go down. It’s stuck.
When I unlock all doors from the driver side inside you cannot enter the vehicle on the passenger side front door from the outside handle, you have to manually reach over and pull from the inside
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front driver’s, front passenger’s, and rear driver’s side windows would independently lower without warning. The contact stated that each window regulators had gradually failed over time. The contact then stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the passenger’s side front window shattered into tiny pieces and fell inside the vehicle. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home and had an independent mechanic come to her home to replace the front passenger’s side window. In addition, the contact stated that the rear passenger’s side door would fail to open from both inside and outside the vehicle. The contact had yet to notify either the dealer or the manufacturer of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the starter had failed and needed to be replaced. The starter was replaced. The independent mechanic also informed the contact that the brake pedal needed to be replaced, and the rear trailing arm was corroded and could fracture while driving. There were no warning lights illuminated. The independent mechanic stated that the suspension front spring and coil spring could damage the tire overtime. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V543000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 37,861.

electrical issues and/or hardware issues with rear windows. understand the issue to be electrical motor and/or window regulator. One window fixed but other to be repaired. in driving, window starts to sag and persons outside the vehicle have attempted to gain entrance through the sagging window. for the repaired window, the dealer inspected and was to repair except the price seemed too high and was only for the window regulator. taken to a glass/auto body shop who indicated both motor and regulator needed to be replaced and charged what the dealer was going to charge for only the replacement of the regulator. the within days after one window fixed, the other window refused to close all the way and the issue of someone trying to gain entrance occurred.
Sensor default, ABS on dashboard, acceleration on dashboard, oil lights default on dashboard, electrical problems, and radio default. My vehicle is still under warranty however im trying to figure out will warranty cover for all of the problems within my vehicle.
My back door on the driver's side does not open from the inside or out. I had the same issue with my driver's door but would open from the outside. I went to the dealership and replaced the door latch assembly. I am not under warranty, so it cost me alot to get fixed. Just one month later the backdoor stopped working completely. I got a letter in the mail form Hyundai saying this is a known issue and if your warranty has expired they'll fix it at no cost, that doesn't help me at all. This is a safety issue and needs to be a recall. I am worried the other doors will stop working. It is not affordable to get fixed.
While I was driving on the highway my check engine light started blinking. I immediately pulled off on the next exit 1/4 mile from when the light started blinking. After stopping completely off the exit the engine stalled and both the oil light and battery light popped on. I was not able to accelerate or drive it from there. An independent mechanic who towed it to their shop said there was no oil in the engine. This is impossible because I had plenty of time left before the next oil change. A week prior to this incident we took the car to the Hyundai dealership to fix a recall problem. There was no indication anything was wrong with the engine or car at the time they fixed the recall issue. Somehow the oil in the engine disappeared and there was no indication from any low oil lights, engine lights, or any other notification that there was an issue. It currently has been towed to the Hyundai dealership and awaiting their diagnostic and solution. A claim has been opened with Hyundai corporate since there is a recall opened for 2016 Hyundai Tuscons.
1) Front right driver headlight warning message, keeps illuminating. Mechanic, noticed wires are burning inside compartment. Safety issue burning wires may cause entire electrical system to burn out causing a fire and not having headlights. Vehicle being serviced 10/29/21 2) Driver Brake light message illuminated, replaced light 2 mo ago, as of today 10-28-21, brake light out again. Vehicle being serviced 10/29/21 3) Purchased vehicle 3/21. Vehicle will not accelerate, it will jerk causing a slow start, safety issue. Vehicle taken to mechanic covered thru warranty, he stated vehicle drove ok, still having same problem since 3/21
MAJOR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED INCLUDING SPEEDOMOTER, TACHOMETER, DEACTIVATION OF AIRBAGS AND INABILITY TO INDICATE WHICH GEAR THE VEHICLE WAS IN. SITUATION WAS REMEDIED WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF A SECONDARY VACUUM PUMP. WATER ENTRY INTO THE PUMP IS CAUSE OF ISSUE TO MAJOR ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS.
I'm mid may-end of may I took it in to Fort mill Hyundai the first time because it was starting to crank hard, sounded funny and my dashboard lights would come on saying I needed oil and there was an engine issue. When I idled too long the car would just die, I'd have to shift into park actually turn the car off and let it sit 1-3 mins turn it back on and all the lights would be off and it would drive like it did before it died, loud. They did testing on it and said these repairs (crankshaft sensor, spark plugs and I think an oil change) should fix it. This was less than a month after my previous oil change. Got the car back 3-4 days later and it sounded better but I still felt like it didn't drive and smooth as it should. 2-3 weeks goes by and my oil light again comes on only with sharp turns. The car over the next couple of days would do the loud cranking noise, didn't drive well over 60 and the engine light came on and gauges would go down but would be fine again once the car was turned off for a couple min like 5 . I set up an appt to hVe them look it over again because of the lights coming back on. Not even 2 days later twice going to and from work it completely died out on me (like the first time) but this time it would turn over once it was out in park and turned off correctly. First time I was in the middle of traffic at a red light waited 10 mins multiple times trying to turn the car on to move to the side and it wouldn't. I let it sit for 5 mins without trying to turn it on and it started the gauges didn't work and it was VERY loud stuck in like first gear wouldn't go above 20 mph. Pulled into a neighborhood turned it off to let it cool off again thinking it was over heating. It would crank but again lights still all on and the gear gauge didn't work (down at 0 liek the car was off). I waiting like 20 mins it still had the lights on but the gauges worked, when I tried to drive home it wouldn't go about 45mph or out of 2nd gear.
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive to her destination. The contact stated that currently there were multiple warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to start the vehicle or shift out of the park. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer who was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact's husband stated that while coming out of a complete stop, the vehicle would jerk and not upshift properly. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 16V628000 (Power Train, Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The manufacturer agreed to cover 75% of the costs of the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

Financed the vehicle in July of 2019. After about 6 months of having the vehicle the right back brake light stopped working. Light bulb, socket, and fuses were changed but theres still an issue. I also noticed that I was having a problem with acceleration. Just recently I was on the highway on my way to work, as I was trying to accelerate my speed was going down, my vehicle basically wouldn't move. It started making this awful loud almost whistling sound. I thought I was going to die. I havent used my vehicle since. The vehicle also still has the same inspection sticker on it from the dealership. I have been unable to pass state inspection due to these ongoing issues.
My transmission gears shift keeps on sticking in the park position and also I’ve been having to replace my left side parking lights I believe it’s an electric problem or fuse and the dealership seems to can’t fixed this issue with my vehicle each time I take it there
All dashboard lights turned on and speedometer stopped working while driving. Vehicle accelerated and braked without driver input.
The left passenger door wont open from inside and outside. I have a child that is still in a car seat and this is a huge safety issue. I have to make sure he sits on the right side so I can open the door if there became an emergency.
Left turn signal glitches and indicates right turn signal instead of left, like prompted. Driver window does not roll down or up. completely locked and does not respond to the switch
Had to replace 2 door latches on passenger side in 2020. 3 months later the rear passenger on driver side is also defective. Can't open door from inside OR outside. This is a major safety issue. 3 out of 4 door latches failed.
WHILE STOPPED,, WITH CAR POWERED BOTH ON AND OFF, REAR LEFT DOOR LOCK MECHANISM WORKING BUT DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE.

JUST SHORT OF 63,000 MILES, MY KEY FOB QUIT UNLOCKING THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR IN IT'S NORMAL SEQUENCE. I HAVE TO KEEP PRESSING "UNLOCK" SEVERAL TIMES UNTIL THE LOCK OPENS. THE OTHER DOORS SEEM RESPONSIVE AT THIS TIME. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES I HAVE HAD TO USE THE KEY. THE SAFETY OF BEING ABLE TO QUICKLY UNLOCK MY DOORS WHEN APPROACHING MY CAR IN MY CARPORT OR IN A PUBLIC SPACE IS COMPROMISED. I DID AN ONLINE SEARCH AND FOUND MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME OR VERY SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES ON THE IDENTICAL MAKE AND MODEL HYUNDAI. IT SEEMS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACTUATOR. I HAVE NOT TAKEN MY CAR TO THE SHOP YET, BUT WANTED TO ADD MY EXPERIENCE TO YOUR DATABASE. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY HYUNDAI ACCORDING TO PEOPLE WRITING ABOUT IT ON A POPULAR AUTOMOTIVE WEBSITE AND I AM HOPING THAT ATTENTION BROUGHT TO THIS FLAW WILL TRIGGER A RECALL. I AM FEARFUL THAT THE PROBLEM WILL SPREAD TO OTHER DOORS OR THAT I MAY BE PREVENTED FROM EXITING MY DRIVER DOOR WHEN I NEED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR.
MULTIPLE SENSORS AND LIGHTS ON THE DASH ARE ILLUMINATED, INCLUDING THE AIRBAGS, BRAKES, TRACTION CONTROL, HILL ASSIST, TIRE PRESSURE, ETC. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THIS IS RELATED TO A VACUUM PUMP ISSUE. OTHER HYUNDAIS ARE UNDER RECALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW UP AS COVERED. THIS IS AN EXTREME HAZARD AS THE CAR IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, AND IF THE SENSOR ARE NOT FUNCTIONING, PROPERLY, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE AIRBAGS OR OTHER SAFETY SYSTEMS WILL FUNCTION AS INTENDED WITH THIS UNDERLYING PROBLEM. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE ALL OF THE 1.6 TUCSONS, AS IT'S OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE ACROSS THE MANUFACTURER AND MULTIPLE MODELS. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AND THESE SYSTEMS ENGAGE RANDOMLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FUNCTION POORLY. ADDITIONALLY THIS AFFECTS EMISSIONS.
Mileage: 67,000
THE DOOR ACTUATORS ON THE HYUNDAI KEEP FAILING WHICH MAKES IT SO THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED. I'VE ALREADY REPLACED 2 AND HAD 2 MORE GO OUT THIS PAST WEEK. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. HYUNDAI WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE IT IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM.

THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE AFTER IT HAS BEEN LOCKED AND UNLOCKED WITH KEY FOB OR KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND LOCKED WITH KEY FOB THEN WOULD NOT OPEN. YOU HAVE TO CLIMB THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE AND OPEN FROM INSIDE.
Mileage: 111,000
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INTERIOR OR THE EXTERIOR. IT WAS PARKED AND I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR AND IT WILL NOT MOVE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET OUT THAT DOOR. THIS HAPPENED TO 2 OTHER DOORS ALSO. ONE WAS COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, IT IS NOW PAST MY WARRANTY.

THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR (THEN A DAY LATER'DOORS) WON'T OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT EVEN WHEN MANUALLY UNLOCKED WHETHER OR NOT THE CAR IS ON OR OFF. WE WERE ON A TRIP AT THE TIME AND OUR KIDS WERE HAVING TO CRAWL OVER FROM THE FRONT SEAT. WE CALLED HYUNDAI. THEIR TEMPORARY FIX WAS TO UNLOCK THE CAR AND JERK THE HANDLE HARD FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEY SAID THAT THE SYSTEM SOMETIMES' FREEZES UP'. THIS WORKS FROM THE OUTSIDE (NOT INSIDE), AND CONTINUES TO FREEZE UP EVEN AFTER ' THE HYUNDAI FIX'. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH OTHER 2016 HYUNDAI MODELS. IF YOU LOOK UP THE PROBLEM ONLINE, YOU WILL SEE MANY POSTS ABOUT IT.
Mileage: 88,000
1.DRIVER SIDE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. IT EVENTUALLY WORKED BY PULLING REALLY HARD FROM OUTSIDE. 2. DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE BUT WILL FROM INSIDE. IT IS OBVIOUSLY UNLOCKED WHEN TRYING TO OPEN. THE ACTUATOR IS THE MOST LIKELY COMPONENT THAT IS FAILING. THE MECHANISM WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE KEY EITHER. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN IT'S 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND I CAN'T GET A CHILD OUT OF THE BACKSEAT. OR FOR FIRST RESPONDERS SENT TO AID SOMEONE TRAPPED IN THE CAR. I'VE READ OF MULTIPLE FAILURES AFTER SEARCHING FOR THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET. IT HAPPENS A LOT TO MANY HUNDAI MODELS OVER THE PAST 6-8 YEARS.

I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM OPENING UP MY DRIVER SIDE BACK DOOR SENSE SUMMER OF 2020 SO I'VE TAKEN THE BACK DOOR PANEL OFF AND I PULL ON THE WIRE FROM THE INSIDE TO OPEN IT UP. I'VE DEALT WITH THAT JUST FINE IT'S IRRITATING BUT NOW MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT IS NOT WANTING TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE DO I HAVE TO READ ACROSS AND OPEN UP THE DOOR IF ANYBODY IS GOING TO BE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOW THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HAS STARTED DOING IT. SO NOW I'M EXPECTED TO CLIMB IN TRUE THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR AND UP INTO THE FRONT SEAT OR OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND THEN WALK BACK AROUND MY CAR. THAT IS UNTIL THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR DECIDES TO START DOING THE SAME THING AND THEN I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO CLIMB IN THROUGH THE TRUNK? OR MAYBE THAT'LL BE THE NEXT ONE TO GO? ANOTHER ISSUE THAT HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH IS THE FRONT INTERIOR DOME OR THE CONSOLE THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHT DOESN'T LIKE TO COME ON MOST OF THE TIME, BUT OCCASIONALLY IT DOES. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS. SO THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN NEEDING TO BE REPLACED MORE OFTEN THAN I EVER HEARD OF ANYBODY REPLACING THEM, LESS THAN 6 MONTH SOMETIMES. OTHER TIMES THAT HAD LIKE JUST GOES OUT AND THEN I HAVE TO GET UNDER THE HOOD AND HOPEFULLY GET THE CAP OFF SO THAT I CAN PLAY WITH THE FITTING AND HOPE THAT IT WILL COME BACK ON. BECAUSE I ACTUALLY DO MOST OF MY DRIVING IN THE DARK WHEN IT'S NIGHT TIME SO I KIND OF NEED MY LIGHTS. SOMETIMES THAT DOESN'T WORK BUT THE NEXT MORNING I WILL TURN ON THE VEHICLE THE LIGHT IS WORKING AGAIN?... I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THAT ISSUE FOR ABOUT A YEAR AS WELL. JUST RECENTLY WITHIN THE LAST FEW MONTHS BEE TAIL LIGHT OR BRAKE LIGHT HAS STARTED DOING THE SAME THING. SPECIFICALLY THE PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHT SO FAR. I COULD SENSE THERE WAS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE COMING ON BUT WOULDN'T HAVE EXPECTED ALL OF THIS, BACK TO BACK AT THE SAME TIME.

DOOR ACTUATORS FAIL AND DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND HYUNDAI HAS NOT ADDRESSED THE ISSUE WITH AN UPDATED DESIGN OR RECALL ON OLDER FAILING DOOR ACTUATORS. NOTE, WHEN I SAY OLD, THESE ARE 5-6 YEARS OLD. AS A FIRST RESPONDER, I AM APPALLED THAT THIS ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED AND RESOLVED ALREADY. IF I AM TRYING TO GAIN ACCESS TO A PERSON INVOLVED IN A WRECK AND I HAVE TO REQUEST OR PERFORM ADVANCED EXTRICATION SIMPLY BECAUSE OF POORLY DESIGNED ACTUATORS THEN THE FAMILIES OF THOSE ENTRAPPED VICTIMS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SUE HYUNDAI FOR DAMAGES.
MY CHILD OR ANYONE IN THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE CAN NOT GET OUT OF THEIR DOOR BECAUSE THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN AT ALL EVEN WHEN UNLOCKED THIS HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR 4 DAYS NO MATTER WHAT I TRY THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. THIS IS NOT A MALFUCTION THIS IS ACUTALLY A SAFELY HAZZARD. MY CHILD IS TRAUMATIZED AND HAS NIGHTMARES BECAUSE HE FEARS HE WILL DIE IF THERE IS A FIRE IN THE CAR HE IS AUTISTIC.

THIS HAPPENED LAST MONTH AS WELL. DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN WHILE IT IS PARKED AND ON, IT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS BUT WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE WHILE IT'S UNLOCKED. LAST TIME IT FIXED AFTER PULLING ON IT APPROXIMATELY 25 TIMES TOTAL. I HAVE TRIED MANUALLY AND AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING AND UNLOCKING AND TRYING TO OPEN BUT NOTHING WORKS. MY BACK RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AND I HAD TO HAVE IT REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP. MY BACK PASSENGER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR IS FAILING. I AM UNABLE TO OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE AFTER THE DOOR HAS BEEN LOCKED. ONCE YOU HIT THE UNLOCK BUTTON, THERE IS A TINY PART IN THE LOCK ACTUATOR THAT IS NOT FULLY RETURNING TO THE LEFT WHICH LEAVES THAT SPECIFIC DOOR STILL LOCKED. IT TAKES SEVERAL PULLS/PUSHES ON THE DOOR TO GET IT OPEN AGAIN AND SOMETIMES IT CAN TAKE DAYS BEFORE I CAN GET IT TO OPEN AGAIN. MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE DOOR PANEL OFF TO SEE THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE ACTUATOR AND WAS ABLE TO SEE THE PART WAS FAILING WHEN HE WOULD TRY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE KEY FOIB/UNLOCK BUTTON. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH HYUNDAI TUCSONS BUT HYUNDAI HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL AND WILL CHARGE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $100 PLUS COST OF LABOR AND PART TO REPAIR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN FOR MY PASSENGERS AND SHOULD BE AN ISSUE HYUNDAI MAKES RIGHT. THIS ISSUE IS OCCURRING REGARDLESS IF MY VEHICLE IS RUNNING OR NOT.

2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THIS HAPPENED JANUARY 2021. I WAS WAITING FOR THE ENTIRE FIRE RECALL TO COME UP WITH A FIX SO I COULD TAKE IT IN AT THE SAME TIME. NOW, THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE, ONLY THE INSIDE. HYUNDAI IS SAYING IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I WILL NEED TO PAY FOR BOTH. QUICK RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS ME THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ALSO EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE EVALUATED AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE IF MY CAR CATCHES FIRE BEFORE THERE CAN BE A FIX FOR THE RECALL AND MYSELF OR MY PASSENGERS ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR IF IT IS ON FIRE.

THIS MODEL HAS A RECALL FOR ITS ABS SYSTEM DUE YO ENGINE FIRES THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEAKER AND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO RESOLVE FOR THIS ISSUE YET HYUNDAI ISSUED A RECALL AND THE ONLY WAY WE FOYND OUT WAS TO GO ONLINE AND LOOK IT UP NOW THEY SAY THEY WANT US TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WITH THE RECALL ISSUE UNTIL HYUNDAI FIGURES OUT YHE ISSUE THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE OUR SAFETY IS FAR MORE IMPORT WE ARE BOTH DISABLED AND NEED A RELIABLE VEHICLE TO GET TO DR. APPOINTMENTS PLEASE HELP TO RESOLVE SAID ISSUE THANK YOU THE BATTLES
THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS IN MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON FAILED REPEATEDLY. THE FIRST WAS ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, ONE WEEK OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY. THE SECOND DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED TODAY (FEB 5, 2021). THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AS THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED FROM EITHER THE INSIDE OR OUT BECAUSE THEY FAIL IN THE "LOCKED" POSITION. IF THERE WERE A FIRE OR OTHER ACCIDENT, THE OCCUPANTS WOULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE, RESULTING IN A FATALITY. THE LATCH MECHANISM WON'T UNLOCK FROM EITHER THE PHYSICAL MECHANICAL TOGGLE OR REMOTE SIGNAL. THIS OCCURS THEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN DISCUSSED ON NUMEROUS ONLINE HYUNDAI FORUMS. WE ARE ALL WONDERING WHY 1) HYUNDAI HAS NOT ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL 2) WHY THE NHTSA HAS NOT STEPPED IN AND REQUIRED HYUNDAI TO ISSUE A SAFETY RECALL. NOT BEING ABLE TO EXIT OR ENTER A CAR DURING AN EMERGENCY IS A HUGE RISK TO ALL, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, AND HANDICAPPED PERSONS. I CAN'T THINK OF A GREATER SAFETY ISSUE THAN BEING TRAPPED IN YOUR VEHICLE. PLEASE INTERVENE! THANK YOU. THE DOORS ON THIS CAR KEEP FAILING TO OPEN. ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR. THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THEN ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO I HAD TO REPLACE THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE DRIVER REAR DOOR. NOW I NEED TO REPLACE THE MECHANISM ON THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN IF WE ARE UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

WE WERE NEVER INFORMED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS CAR WHEN WE PURCHASED IT FROM THE HYUNDAI DEALER. WE HAD SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND HAVE GONE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR AND THEY NEVER MENTIONED THE RECALL INVOLVING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN OUR TUCSON. WE HAD THE LATEST ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH OUR DOOR NOT CLOSING. WE HAVE HAD CONTINUED ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND MISSION HILLS HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP HAS NOT MENTIONED THE RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. THEY CONTINUE TO FAIL TO REPAIR OUR CAR'S RECALL ISSUE.*DT*JB

OUR VEHICLE HAS STARTED USING A LOT OF OIL AROUND 80,000. WE NOW NEED TO ADD A QUART OF OIL ABOUT EVERY 1000 MILES. THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW SWITCH WILL OCCASIONALLY NOT WORK. WE HAD THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK REPLACED BECAUSE IF STOPPED WORKING.

IN SEPTEMBER 2020 WE WERE ADVISED BY HYUNDAI NOT TO PARK OUR VEHICLE IN OUR GARAGE OR NEAR A BUILDING DUE TOO A FIRE HAZARD. IT IS NOW MID-JANUARY AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. SEE HTTPS://AUTOSERVICE.HYUNDAIUSA.COM/CAMPAIGNHOME/CAMPAIGN/INDEX AND ATTACHED.

THE INCIDENT OCCURRED TO ME WHILE I WAS 7 HOURS FROM HOME. I WAS STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN ON A CURVE IN THE ROAD. WHEN CLEAR, I ACCELERATED AND AS I TURNED AND MERGED INTO THE ROAD, THE CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE AND LOST POWER AS I WAS GOING UP HILL. RIGHT BEFORE I LOST ALL POWER, THE OIL LIGHT FLASHED BRIEFLY AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND AGAIN HEARD A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE BUT WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AS SOON AS I SLOWED AND STOPPED IT DIED AGAIN. I ENDED UP GETTING TOWED TO THE HYUNDAI DEALER. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED AND THEY LET ME KNOW I HAD "THROWN A ROD AND HAD BEARING DAMAGE". THEY SAID I NEED A NEW ENGINE AND QUOTED ME $12,800. I HAVE PROVIDED ALL SERVICE RECORDS TO THEM WHICH PROVE THAT I HAVE MAINTAINED THE VEHICLE WITH OIL CHANGES AND MAJOR SERVICES DONE AT HYUNDAI AS WELL AS VALVOLINE. THEIR INITIAL OFFER TO ME WAS THEY WOULD COVER 50% OF THE REPAIR. MY SERVICE ADVISOR COUNTERED THEM WITH 90% AND THEIR FINAL OFFER WAS TO COVER 60% AND NO RENTAL - EVEN BEING 7 HOURS FROM HOME. BEFORE THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OPEN MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR IN MONTHS DUE TO NEEDING A NEW ACTUATOR. I ALSO LET THEM KNOW THAT I BELIEVED THERE WAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES BECAUSE MY TAIL LIGHT WAS ALWAYS GOING OUT EVEN AFTER BEING REPLACED. I WAS DISMISSED AND TOLD THAT I HAD A FAULTY BULB. SAME DAY AFTER GETTING REPLACED, I WAS AGAIN GETTING THAT "CHECK BRAKE LIGHT" MESSAGE. I BELIEVE THERE IS A RECALL THAT I DO NOT QUALIFY FOR FOR THIS ISSUE. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND ENGINE FAILURE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH HYUNDAI WITH MANY PEOPLE ON THEIR 2ND AND 3RD ENGINES, INCLUDING 2 PEOPLE IN MY OWN FAMILY. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY HYUNDAI IS HANDLING THIS SITUATION AND I WILL NO LONGER BE A HYUNDAI CUSTOMER. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I CAN PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. THANK YOU!

IN MY 2016 HYUNDAI TUSCON THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. IT LOCKS AND UNLOCKS VIA KEYLESS ENTRY, INDOOR LOCK/UNLOCK BUTTON AND KEY FOB UNLOCK/LOCK BUTTON, HOWEVER THE DOOR DOES NOT PHYSICALLY OPEN. IT SPONTANEOUS OCCURRED WHEN TRYING TO GET INTO MY CAR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFELY CONCERN IF SOMEONE NEEDED TO LEAVE MY CAR IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. UPON RESEARCH THIS APPEARS TO BE A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF 2016 MODELS, SOME HAVING ISSUES WITH MULTIPLE DOORS. IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE LOCK ACTUATOR THAT WAS INSTALLED IS MOST OF THE 2016-2017 TUSCONS. HYUNDAI IS NOT WILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON ALL OF THESE MODELS.

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE USED, FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP; THEREFORE, IT HAD BEEN SERVICED PRIOR TO PURCHASE. WITHIN TWO MONTHS OF PURCHASE THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR QUIT OPERATING. THE CAR WAS PARKED WITHOUT THE ENGINE RUNNING WHEN THE DOOR REFUSED TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. I CHECKED MY WARRANTY. IT WAS STILL IN EFFECT BUT I WAS OVER THE MILEAGE REQUIREMENT SO THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR. (I COMMUTE TO WORK) SIX MONTHS LATER, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR CEASED TO OPERATE. I TRANSPORTED A DISABLED INDIVIDUAL TO THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE. THE DOOR WORKED WHEN I LEFT FOR THE DOCTOR'S AS I PLACED A WALKER IN THE BACK. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AT THE TIME. WHEN I RETURNED FROM THE DOCTOR, I PARKED, SWITCHED THE ENGINE OFF, AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. THE DISABLED INDIVIDUAL WITH ME COULD NOT WALK WITHOUT THE ASSISTANCE OF THE WALKER. I COULD NOT GET THE WALKER OUT. I HAD TO GO BORROW A WALKER, BRING TO THE INDIVIDUAL TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE HIM FROM THE CAR. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. CURRENTLY, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR IS BEGINNING TO BE DIFFICULT TO OPEN. IT SOMETIMES TAKES THREE ATTEMPTS TO OPEN THE DOOR. I AM AFRAID IT WILL STOP WORKING AS WELL. AT THIS POINT I AM DRIVING AN SUV THAT CAN ONLY SAFELY TRANSPORT TWO INDIVIDUALS AND I AM AFRAID THAT IT WON'T BE LONG BEFORE ONLY ONE PERSON CAN RIDE IN IT. MY TRUE FEAR IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DRIVER DOOR STOPS WORKING? I HAVE RESEARCHED FOR A RECALL AND THEIR ISN'T ONE DESPITE THE FACT THEIR ARE NUMEROUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS. I HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE ISSUE AS I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY IT WOULD TAKE AND FROM THE COMPLAINTS I HAVE READ IT WILL ONLY HAPPEN AGAIN. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS TRAPPED IN A CAR AND HURT.

PASSENGER SIDE DOORS - FIRST THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, THEN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR - STOPPED OPENING. FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE (ROLLING DOWN WINDOW), BUT THE BACK DOOR HAD THE CHILD LOCK ENGAGED SO COULD NOT BE OPENED AT ALL. ANALYSIS AT DEALERSHIP DETERMINED IT WAS (IN BOTH CASES) THE ACTUATOR AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAD MY 3 YEAR OLD IN CHILDSEAT IN BACK AND COULD NOT GET TO HER QUICKLY. I'VE NOW MOVED HER CAR SEAT TO THE OTHER SIDE, HOWEVER, I DO NOT WANT TO ENGAGE THE CHILDLOCK ON THAT DOOR IN CASE THE SAME THING HAPPENS - THEN I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REACH HER AT ALL - THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME.

IT ALL STARTED OUT WITH THE DRIVER DOOR. THE PUSH BUTTON FELL OFF, THE DOOR WAS STILL ABLE TO OPEN BUT NOW THE WIRES ARE EXPOSED. THE CO-PILOT DOOR FAILED AT OPENING. YOU HAVE TO PULL IT THREE TIMES BEFORE IT OPENS. THEN THE CO-PILOT WINDOW STOPPED FUNCTIONING. WENT TO GO GET IT FIXED AND THEY SAID THE DOOR SHOULD BE FIXED AFTER REPLACING THE MOTOR. FALSE. DOOR STILL DOES NOT WORK. REAR PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUT. COULD BE A RISK SINCE NOW ONLY ONE DOOR IN THE BACK IS OPERABLE. THE WINDOW FROM THE DRIVER DOOR STOPPED OPERATING. THAT IS NOW THREE OF 4 DOORS. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE UNTIL THIS IS A RECALL? ALSO WHEN THE PASSENGER WINDOW GOT FIXED THEY SAID THE PLASTIC MOTOR WAS SLIGHTLY MELTED?! FIRE HAZARD.

THE CAR DOESNT GO WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS, PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC IS DANGEROUS. THE PROBLEM EXASTURBATED WHEN THE CARS 1ST 15 MINUTES OF RUNNING. AND ANYTIME I GO FROM A COMPLETE STOP FOR LONGER THAN 30 SECONDS, THERE IS LITTLE MOMENTUM, WHETHER I'M TURNING OR GOING FORWARD. I HAVE TO USE THE 7 SPEED MANUAL TO ENSURE SAFETY PULLING OUT INTO CROSS TRAFFIC, THE RESULTS COULD BE DEADLY. THE CAR HAS BEEN BROUGHT IN SEVERAL TIMES, BUT ROUTE 60 HYUNDAI, VERO BEACH IS RUDE! GETTING A LOANER FOR THIS RECALL WAS HORRIFIC THE 1ST TIME, AND THEY WOULDN'T GIVE ME A VEHICLE THE 2ND, 3RD OR 4TH TIME. #2 THE DOORS AND WINDOWS, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR AND THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR, DO NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUT, AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER WINDOW NO LONGER OPERATES, GOD FORBID THERE IS AN ACCIDENT, THERE IS NO ESCAPE. ALSO, THE FRONT 2 WINDOWS WILL NO LONGER ROLL DOWN AND THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP. I AM UNABLE TO FIX THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW DUE TO THE BROKEN DOOR HANDLE THAT HAS COMPLETELY MADE THE DOOR INOPERABLE FROM INSIDE OR OUT AND IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AS A PASSENGER IN THE BACK SEAT CAN NOT EXIT THROUGH THAT DOOR.

IN MY CASE ALL THREE DOORS WERE LOCKED AND COULD NOT OPEN IN STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY, TURNING OR OFF. IT STARTED WITH DRIVER'S DOOR NOT OPENING FROM OUTSIDE 1ST AND WHEN I UNLOCKED USING MY CAR KEY IT WOULDN'T OPEN. I HAD TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM PASSENGER SIDE IN ORDER TO GET TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THEN BOTH BACK PASSENGER LEFT AND RIGHT DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THIS CREATED MAJOR CONCERN AND SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I COULDN'T HAVE ANYONE SITTING IN THE BACK SINCE NO ONE COULD GET IN OR GET OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND SINCE MY CAR HAD 62,000 MILES IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE HYUNDAI WARRANTY. THEY REPLACED THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FOR $392 IN 12/13/2019. ONE MONTH LATER IN 1/13/2020 I STARTED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BACK RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR AND ONE WEEK LATER IN 1/18/20 I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BACK LEFT PASSENGER DOOR. THIS TIME BOTH BACK DOORS WERE LOCKED FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE SO NO ONE WAS ABLE TO GET IN OR OUT. I TOOK MY CAR TO AAMCO AND THEY HAD TO REMOVE THE DOORS TRIM & SEALS TO GET DOORS OPEN AND REPLACED BOTH DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FOR $862.79. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED WITH MY OTHER CARS AND IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WHEN YOU ARE LOCKED INSIDE THE CAR AND CAN'T GET OUT. THERE HAS BEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS NOT FUNCTIONING AND REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. I'M HOPING NHTSA CAN ADDRESS THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND ASK HYUNDAI TO RECALL AND REPLACE THE PARTS. I KNOW SOON I WILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY TRUNK DOOR AND FRONT RIGHT DOOR. GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER. THE PARTS ARE POOR QUALITY AND NOT DESIGNED TO LAST AND THIS CREATES SAFETY CONCERN.

IN SUMMER OF 2019 I NOTICED LEFT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW STOPPED FUNCTIONING. A FEW MONTHS LATER, RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR STARTED NOT OPENING FROM THE OUTSIDE. FAST FORWARD 3 MONTHS LATER, DRIVER WIDE WINDOW STOPPED FUNCTIONING AND NOW A FEW SHORT WEEKS LATER THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NO LONGER OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I HAVE TRIED OPERATING THE WINDOWS THAT AREN'T WORKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND ALSO WHILE MOVING. THE DOORS OBVIOUSLY HAVE ONLY BEEN ATTEMPTED TO BE OPEN WHILE STATIONARY AND IN PARK. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL ISSUE? BUT I ALSO BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. *LN CONSUMER STATED SHE NOW HAS 3 DOORS AND 2 WINDOWS THAT ARE NOT WORKING PROPERLY. DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *JB

THE DOORS AT TIMES WILL NOT OPEN, POWER WINDOWS WILL NOT GO DOWN. VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN DRIVING. WHEN UNLOCKING DOORS WITH REMOTE, DOORS LOCK BACK ON THEIR OWN.
WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND HIT THE GAS AND THE CAR DID NOT WANT TO MOVE IT SEEMED LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL AND ONCE IT STARTS MOVING THE CAR STARTS JERKING AND SLIPS FROM 1 TO 2ND GEAR. SAME THING HAS HAPPENED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AND REPROGRAMMING THE COMPUTER IT WILL STILL DO IT. THE CAR HAS 56K MILES ON IT AND IT SEEMS TO BE DOING IT MORE OFTEN NOW. I REALLY DIDN'T THINK ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS ISSUE, BUT AFTER READING UP ON IT, IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ON THE 1.6 TURBO TUCSON. ALSO THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS SEEM TO STOP WORKING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN JUST WORK AS IF ANYTHING WAS WRONG. THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AS WELL. I'M AFRAID WE'RE ARE GOING TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS.

I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2016. UNTIL NOW, THE ONLY ISSUE HAS BEEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. NOW, THE DOORS ARE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. IN MARCH 2019, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED OPENING FROM THE OUTSIDE. IT WOULD UNLOCK/LOCK, BUT THE OUTSIDE HANDLE WOULD NOT OPERATE AND OPEN THE DOOR THE INSIDE HANDLE DID OPERATE. HYUNDAI REPAIRED/REPLACED THE PART UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR $50. IN APRIL 2019, THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR FAILED. THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT OPERATE FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. THE DEALER TRIED TO MAKE ME WAIT WKS FROM AN APPT, BUT THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE WITH PASSENGERS/CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. WHAT IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT? I INQUIRED ABOUT RECALLS, ESPECIALLY WITH PASSENGERS NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR, BUT WAS SHUT DOWN BY THE MECHANIC. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH SUGGESTS I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS ISSUE.

I PURCHASED THE 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON IN OCTOBER 2015. THE FOLLOWING YEAR I NOTICED THAT SOMETIMES WHEN I'M STOPPED AND GO TO ACCELERATE, MY CAR WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT TAKES OFF. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT COMES TO PULLING OUT ONTO A BUSY STREET. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN OFTEN BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE YEARS. NOW LATELY, I HAVE BEEN GETTING 'CHECK BSD SYSTEM' WARNINGS. THIS HAPPENED ONCE ONE DAY AND THEN INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE. NOW MY CAR WILL GIVE THAT WARNING, ACTS LIKE IT SHUTS OFF, AND WONT GO ANYWHERE AND I'LL HAVE TO RESTART MY CAR. OR SOMETIMES IT WILL BE IN 2ND OR 3RD GEAR AND THAT WARNING WILL POP UP AND IMMEDIATELY SHIFT TO 0. AFTER THIS HAPPENS THERE ARE 5-6 WARNING LIGHTS THAT LIGHT UP ON THE DASH BOARD, INCLUDING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS HAS PROGRESSED OVER THE LAST 3 DAYS, ULTIMATELY MAKING MY CAR NOT DRIVABLE. I AM TAKING IT IN TOMORROW. EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS I'VE BEEN IN 'DRIVE' AND EITHER STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR EVENING IN MOTION.

ONCE PER DAY, WHILE DRIVING ON FLAT GROUND, THE CAR DISPLAYS THE MESSAGE "STEEP GRADE! PRESS BRAKE PEDAL" (PAGE 5-20 IN THE OWNERS MANUAL). WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR COMPLETELY DIES AND CAN NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES, HOWEVER THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE IT. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS FOR ME ONCE PER DAY! I OPENED A CASE WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE BUT THE CASE IS OPEN AND UNRESOLVED BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND ONLY HAPPENS ONCE PER DAY. AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM IS STILL A SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO LOSE THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE! IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD DIRECTLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO BE AWARE OF THIS AND HYUNDAI AND THEIR DEALERSHIPS NEED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP AND MAKE CORRECTIVE ACTIONS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED BY THIS DEFECT. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE ISSUE OCCURRING THAT I'M HAPPY TO SHARE AS WELL.

WE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2015, AND IT ONLY GETS WORSE THE MORE MILES WE PUT ON THE CAR. THE RECALL FIX DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM, AND WE ONLY JUST LEARNED TODAY FROM HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT WE CAN STILL REQUEST SERVICE, WHICH WE ARE DOING THIS WEEK. BUT, THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RE-EVALUATED. AS TO WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN (BELOW), I WILL PUT TODAY'S DATE, BUT THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY, ALL DAY LONG. I HAVE OWNED A 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON FOR 2.5 YEARS. IN THAT TIME IT HAS BEEN IN FOR SEVERAL ISSUES THAT CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED WHEN AT THE SERVICE CENTER AND DEEMED "WORKING FINE, NO CODES PRESENT AT THIS TIME". MY ISSUES HAVE INCLUDED LOSS OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL AFTER A STOP (SOFTWARE UPDATE FIXED), INTERMITTENT HEADLAMP THAT WON'T TURN ON, THE MEDIA DISPLAYING "BATTERY DISCHARGE WARNING" WHILE CAR WAS RUNNING AND IN MOTION (HEADLAMP REPLACED AFTER SEVERAL TIMES TAKING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE THE WARNING LIGHT GO ON WHILE THE TECHNICIAN WAS THERE). NOW THE COMPUTER/DASH BOARD IS RESTARTING ITSELF AT 45 MPH . THIS HAS OCCURRED TWO TIMES. THE DASH BOARD WENT DARK FOR 1 SECOND AND THEN STARTED BACK UP THROUGH IS STARTUP SEQUENCE. DURING THIS TIME, THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING BUT I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE TRANSMISSION. IF YOU PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL IT WILL INCREASE RPMS BUT NOT ACCELERATE. DURING THIS TIME IT IS NECESSARY TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON. AGAIN, NO CODES THROWN AND NOT REPRODUCIBLE AT THE SERVICE CENTER. THE SERVICE CENTER FOUND THAT THE POSITIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WAS NOT COMPLETELY TIGHT AND THOUGHT MAYBE THIS CAUSED THE ISSUE. I AM FRUSTRATED THAT SOMETHING THAT COULD HAPPEN EASILY AS THIS DOESN'T SHOW UP AS AN ERROR SINCE IT CAUSED A UNSAFE DRIVING ENVIRONMENT. 24 HOURS AGO, WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN AT A BUSY STREET THE CAR STARTED FORWARD WHEN GAS PEDAL PRESSED BUT THEN STOPPED MOVING FORWARD ONLY TO LURCH FORWARD AFTER A SECOND AND PICK UP SPEED. I KNOW THAT IF I TAKE IT IN FOR THIS IT WILL BE THE SAME STORY: "WE FOUND NOTHING WRONG. NO CODES THROWN, BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN." THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THE MANUFACTURE WILL NOT BUY IT BACK SINCE THERE WAS NO DEFECT FOUND...

INSTALLED TRAILER HITCH AND WIRING ON SAID 2016 HYUNDAI TUSCON AND WIRING MODULE SHORTED OR MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING DEFECTIVE LIGHTING ON TRAILER. CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM DOES EXIST FROM HYUNDAI ( RECALL CAMPAIGN 153 ) AND THIS VEHICLE DOES FIT THE MANUFACTURE DATE WITHIN THE RECALL BUT THE DEALER AND HYUNDAI CUSTOMER WHEN NOTIFIED SAID THAT THIS VIN # IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH I AM HAVING THE EXACT PROBLEM THE RECALL IS FOR. I AM MAKING THIS NOTICE IN THAT SHOULD THERE BE A PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE THAT I HAVE TRIED TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED AND THE COMPANY CHOOSES TO DISMISS MY CLAIM. THIS PROBLEM EXIST MOVING OR STATIONARY, BUT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY WHEN CHANGING LANES OR TURNING

AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE THE MILEAGE WAS NOT ADDING CORRECTLY, I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH APPROXIMATELY 104 MILES ON IT AND AFTER 2 WEEKS OF DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 200 MILES THE TOTAL MILES ON MY CAR WAS 150. MY CAR AUTOMATICALLY STARTS ON OCCASION WHEN I USE MY KEY FOB TO LOCK MY DOORS. MY STEREO/GPS/BACK UP CAMERA VIEW DOESN'T WORK AT TIMES. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCURRENCES IN WHICH THE TRANSMISSION FEELS AS THOUGH IT 'SLIPS' AND OTHERS IN WHICH I HAVE TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR (GAS PEDAL) TO THE FLOOR TO GET MY CAR TO MOVE. TODAY I WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL, UPON GREEN I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR (GAS PEDAL) AND MY CAR RESPONDED AS IF IT WERE IN NEUTRAL AND I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR. THE ENGINE REVVED AND IT MOVED A FEW FEET. I HAVE LESS THAN 33,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND I HAVE HAD ISSUES SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAY THEY 'CAN'T DUPLICATE' THE ISSUES I'M HAVING. TRANSMISSION APPOINTMENT IS TOMORROW. I WOULD LIKE NOTIFICATIONS OF ANY RECALLS, I AM UNABLE TO CHECK THE BOX AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE I AM SUBMITTING.

SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DEC 2015 THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. WHILE I AM DRIVING THE MESSAGE "BATTERY DISCHARGE WARNING! PLEASE USE THE SYSTEM WITH ENGINE RUNNING" AT HYUNDAI OF LOUISVILLE IN DIXIE THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. LATEST TIME IT HAPPENED 11/30/17 WHILE DRIVING IT FOR OIL CHANGE TO HYUNDAI OXMOR I ASKED TO HAVE THAT MESSAGE CHECKED THEY SAID IT WAS JUST A GLITCH. THE 3 TIMES I AM DRIVING (HIGHWAY AND STREET), SO THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. AFTER TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND ON AGAIN IT QUIT.

BOUGHT THE CAR AT APPROX. 8K MILES. NOW JUST OVER 18K MILES, WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 55MPH, DESPITE THE RIMS REVVING TO 5K-6K. THEN LIGHT CAME ON SAYING TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHEATING. STOPPED AND SAT FOR 5 MIN TO GET TO GO AWAY. RESTARTED AND STILL TOOK ABOUT 2-3 MIN TO GET CAR UP TO 75MPH. IN THE CITY, MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE AT STOP LIGHT, CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FROM STOP. RPMS WOULD REV AND REV, BUT NO MOVEMENT UNTIL AFTER MULTIPLE TRIES. WAS TOLD WHEN PURCHASED THAT THIS VEHICLE YEAR HAD RECALL THAT WAS FIXED, BUT WHEN WE PUT VIN INTO NHTSA SITE, TOLD IT'S NOT AFFECTED BY RECALL. IT'S POSSIBLE EITHER THE CONTAINMENT OF THE RECALL NET WAS NOT WIDE ENOUGH, OR THE CORRECTIVE ACTION IS NOT YET ADEQUATE. EITHER WAY, MY FAMILY'S SAFETY IS AT STAKE. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO TRUST A NEW CAR TO GO WHEN I PROMPT IT TO. TRANSMISSION IS VERY TOUCHY IN THIS ECO MODEL. I HOPE TO SEE ROBUST CORRECTIVE ACTION BY HYUNDAI, OR A DIFFERENT,SAFER AND MORE RELIABLE POWER TRAIN UTILIZED. OTHERWISE, FOR SAFETY, I SHOULD NOT NEED TO KEEP THIS VEHICLE AND HYUNDAI NEEDS TO TAKE IT BACK. THIS TYPE OF ISSUE COULD CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND I HOPE THAT MORE OF THESE CARS ARE NOT EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE.

STILL HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AS BEFORE. CAR WON'T ACCELERATE, IS JUMPY, REFUSES TO MOVE ANYMORE WHEN STOPPED OR ALREADY IN MOTION. HAD AN APPOINTMENT THIS MORNING WITH WOODHOUSE HYUNDAI AND THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME A CAR TO BORROW NOR DID THEY GIVE ME A RIDE TO WORK - SO I HAD TO RESCHEDULE. THE MECHANICAL MANAGER SAID "CAN'T YOU WAIT 15 MINUTES?" I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS AN OPTION TO BE LATE FOR WORK. MAYBE IT'S JUST MECHANICS THAT ARE ALLOWED TO BE LATE, BUT I SURE AM NOT ALLOWED TO BE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS LACKING HERE AND SO IS THIS CAR. I'M DRAINED FROM ALL OF THE TIME I'VE PUT INTO THIS CAR TO BE REPAIRED AND NOTHING IS FIXED, BECAUSE THERE IS NO FIX! THE SAME BATTLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN IS PHYSICALLY TAKING A TOLL ON ME AND I'M TIRED OF FIGHTING TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED. I TRY TO MAKE APPOINTMENTS AND CAN'T ALWAYS MEET THOSE APPOINTMENT TIMES BECAUSE I HAVE A JOB. I NEED MY JOB TO PAY THE LOAN. I NEED THE LOAN FOR THE CAR TO GET TO MY JOB. I NEED MY CAR TO BE RELIABLE. MY CAR IS NOT RELIABLE SO I CAN'T GET TO MY JOB AND PAY MY LOAN BECAUSE OF MY CAR. DO YOU SEE THE PROBLEM HERE!?!?!?!! I'VE NEVER HATED A CAR AS MUCH AS I HATE THIS ONE. EDWARDS HYUNDAI SOLD ME A CAR THAT THEY PROMISED WAS RELIABLE AND SAFE - AND IT'S NOT. IT'S ABSOLUTELY THE OPPOSITE. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE A HYUNDAI AGAIN. I'D BE BETTER OFF WALKING AT THIS POINT OR TAKING THE BUS. TAKE THIS THING BACK.

I PURCHESED MY NEW 2016 HYUNDAI TUSCON TURBO IN FEB. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN SLUGGISH ON ACCELARTION AND AT TIMES WON'T MOVE AT ALL AFTER A STOP. IT HAS HAD NUMEROUS "UPDATES" FOR THE TRANSMISION WITH NO SUCCESS. AT TIMES IT WILL ROLL BACKWARDS WHEN IN DRIVE AS IF IT IS IN NEUTRAL WHILE AT DRIVE THRUS OR ON AN INCLINE . IT REMAINED IN THE SHOP FOR ONE OF THE TIMES FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS. A HYUNDAI ENGINEER HAS INSPECTED MY CAR AND SAYS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IT. ALL OF THE ISSUES I HAVE HAD ARE NOT NORMAL, AND THEY AGREE BUT STATE THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE SERVICE DEPT HAVE DRIVEN MY CAR AND AGREE THAT IT STILL HAS THE HESITATION, BUT SAY THEIR HANDS ARE TIED UNTIL HYUNDAI HAS A SOLUTION. IT DOESN'T THROW A CODE ON ANY OF THE ISSUES. IT HAS EVEN DIED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP REPEATEDLY FOR THE SAME ISSUES. NOW, THIS LAST TIME, I AM GETTING A BATTERY DISCHARGE WARNING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT IS NOW BACK IN THE SHOP FOR THAT ISSUE ALONG WITH THE SAME SLUGGISH DELAYED ACCELEARTION. I AM 100% UNHAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE. I SEE WHERE HUNDAI IS MAKING A RECALL, BUT I AM UNSURE IF THIS NEW UPDATE IS ANY DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER TWO MY SUV HAS ALREADY HAD. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND CERTAINLY HAS MAJOR ISSUES.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND WITH INCREASING FREQUENCY, THE CAR DOES NOT TRANSMIT POWER TO THE WHEELS AFTER STOPPING OR SLOWING TO A NEAR STOP - E.G. AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, MERGING INTO INTERSTATE TRAFFIC, OR, GOD FORBID, TURNING LEFT AT AN INTERSECTION. I WILL PUT MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE RPMS CAN ROAR INTO THE 6000 RANGE WHILE MY CAR INCHES FORWARD AT 1-5 MPH INTO TRAFFIC. INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. MOST RECENTLY THIS HAPPENED AS I WAS TURNING LEFT ONTO SUNSET BLVD IN LOS ANGELES. WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SAFE LEFT TURN BECAME A HARROWING EXPERIENCE AS MY CAR ENTERED SUNSET AT ABOUT 1-2 MPH AS TRAFFIC CLOSED IN FROM BOTH DIRECTIONS, WITH A 6 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR, NO LESS! NOT MY VIDEO, BUT A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE FROM ANOTHER TUCSON DRIVER IS HERE: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=TCVTR_ZCYRS AND ANOTHER: HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=TCVTR_ZCYRS PLENTY OF REPORTS OF THIS AT HYUNDAI-FORUMS.COM *HTTP://WWW.HYUNDAI-FORUMS.COM/2016-TUCSON-IX35-MODELS/454074-DANGEROUS-HORRIBLE-DCT-36.HTML AND YET NO ACTION FROM HYUNDAI. DEALERSHIPS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ARE RESPONDING VARIOUSLY WITH "WE CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM" (IT'S INTERMITTENT AND DANGEROUSLY UNPREDICTABLE), TO "SOUNDS LIKE NORMAL DCT BEHAVIOR TO ME!", TO AS MY DEALER TOLD ME, "UNTIL THE MALFUNCTIONING PART FAILS COMPLETELY, WE CAN'T ID THE PROBLEM SO CAN'T FIX IT." LETTING THAT PART FAIL MAY, LITERALLY, BE THE LAST THING I DO! STILL WORKING ON A RESOLUTION WITH HYUNDAI, BUT THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION AND HYNUDAI NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT AS SUCH.

PURCHASED JANUARY 2016 - LIMITED AWD WITH FACTORY INSTALLED TOW HITCH. IMMEDIATELY NOTICED FLICKERING INTERIOR LIGHTS AND BOTH HEAD LIGHTS LEAKED, ONE SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED. LATER ON DEVELOPED HARD START UPS, SHIFTING AND ACCELERATION ISSUES. ALONG WITH INTERMITTING FRONT SAFETY SENSORS AND A GLITCHING CENTER CONSOLE/BACK UP CAMERA. 7,500 MILES IN THE AC STOPPED WORKING FROM FREEZING OVER. TOOK TO DEALER WHILE ON VACATION AND DISCOVERED A MELTED FUSE BOX COVER AND BURNT TOW HITCH/ECU WIRES WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF CORROSION. DEALERS COULD NO CONFIRM RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TOW HITCH HARNESS, CLAIMED IT WAS NOT FACTORY INSTALLED WHEN IT WAS FACTORY INSTALLED AND EVEN ON THE ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER. WE CALLED HYUNDAI CORPORATE EVERYDAY FOR OVER A WEEK BEGGING FOR HELP WITH NO CALL BACKS. ROADSIDE WOULD NOT COVER A TOW TO THE SELLING DEALER. ENDED UP DRIVING OURSELVES AN HOUR SOUTH TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAITS FOR A HYUNDAI ENGINEER TO FLY IN AND LOOK AT IT. THERE ARE RECALLS FOR THIS WIRING HARNESS IN OTHER MODELS, THE DEALER WASN'T EVEN ABLE TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT PART BECAUSE IT WAS DISCONTINUED. WE WERE NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS CURRENTLY OUT FOR OUR CAR. WE CONSIDER THIS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE AS THE MELTING WIRES ARE A SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD ALONG WITH THE UNRELIABLE TRANSMISSION AND SAFETY SENSORS.
