I leased a 2016 hyundai tucson from Metcalf Auto Plaza [XXX]. Every week since then i have had to return the car for repairs. It got to a point where Neil suggested he can trade it for another but each and every vehicle i test drove to replace my car was NOT ready to be on the road but according to them every car had just got out the shop. Instead of trying to have issues resolved the mechanics decide to make "jokes" as if your pain and suffering is a joke. Since i did not want a trade in and wanted my car fixed instead Neil tried to tell me that this was my final offer which i declined because why not just fix my car? I went to talk to Neil in person September 9, 2025 about getting my car fixed and the frustrations i am having because having to return the car weekly and i havent had it for a month is outrageous. [XXX] i was driving the hyundai on the highway with my children in the car and the electricity to the car completely cut off but came right back on, i got off the highway and the car did it again and this time the wheel locked up and i almost wrecked the car. I called metcalf and the only thing they could tell me was they can tow my car to metcalf but me and my children had to find our own means of transportation. Every time i called to have my car serviced and told them about what i would hear and feel they could NEVER make the car "do it again". I am beyond frustrated, upset and terrified because i have been telling them about smoking coming from the engine, rattling noise etc. My kids lives were put in danger and the only thing they could say was "i apologize and we can tow the car to the shop". Did not care if we had transportation and have never offered to give us any after continously getting stranded in the car. Now the car is towed to their shop once again and the car wouldnt even turn over for me to get it out of the middle of the street. My catalytic converter caught on fire a couple months back then I hit a code for the knock sensor replaced it and it started to act up again I can’t go over 49 burning oil took it to Hyundai now they are saying my engine is going out and I’m still panting carmart got the car
original owner. Car shook badly and hesitated losing speed at 61k. dealership replaced all or four ignition coils and spark plugs. Car started and burning oil at 61,000 despite regular oil changes at 3500. Mostly done by the dealership. Car has been burning oil uses 1 quart every 500 miles. All four window regulators have stopped working. I replaced one.
car is in limp mode,will not accelerate.Oil consultant over a few years.Dealership has requested new engine twice and denied by Hyundai USA.i have to put flashers on just to get on highway so im not killed.I will drive down the street and back and my engine will be extremely hot for hours.I am limited to my hometown only.I can not go out of my hometown due to heat of engine and blowing hoses and water pumps which has happened.This car is a danger and I am in financial burden to high repairs and excuses from dealerships.i have spent over 16,000 dollars and 3 catalyc converters later due to clogging ,in result to oul consumption.This car is a lemon and has ruined my life for the last 3/4 years.lots of stress and financial expenses only to have the same problem
When accelerating, like taking off from a red light or through a turn, my car begins to shake like it’s unable to change gears correctly, and sometimes leads to the car stalling in the middle of the street and intersection putting my in danger of being hit from other drivers. It’s also happened that when I press the gas after being stopped at a light, my car RPM goes up but I don’t move and then the car jolts forward quickly. This has been happening for years and when I take it to Hyundai they tell me “that’s just how the car runs” which seems incredibly unsafe.
I had multiple occasions where the car would blink lates and make screaming noises when acceleration. The vehicle never had a smooth process of stopping and going. When stopped at a light, you could press the acceleration and it idle or not speed up than rev the RMPs and start to catch speed. It was very unsafe, I tried several attempts years ago at getting the vehicle maintenanced but only got rotors repaired from shaking and two other shops stating it was a recall and they could not service or fix the vehicle.
Oil consumption is excessive it has caused the engine to have a knocking noise even though routine oil changes have been up to date. Yes available for inspection. This may cause the engine to seize at any given point while in motion. No, I have not been able to take the vehicle to a dealership yet. No, vehicle has not been inspected. No, no check engine/warning light has turned on. Knocking noise began June 28th 2024.
The car did not accelerate after pressing gas pedal all way down. Encountered this while idling and trying to accelerate from a steady speed as well.
My 2016 Tucson Sport with Eco Shift has a dangerous problem with the transmission. Intermittently It will not move when I give it gas. The RPMS go up to 6000 but the car wont move. Its the DCT transmission. Today I took it in for the 3rd time and I don't want it back until its fixed. This is a very unsafe vehicle to drive since you would not know when it would just stop shifting and driving. Have registered a complaint with Hyundai Motors as the service department does not know when the vehicle will be repaired.
I was at a stop light, when I went to accelerate, the car would not move past 20 MPH. I pressed down on the pedal, and the gauge did not go past 20 MPH. After a few seconds, the car started to accurate, but it happened again at a second stop light a few minutes later.
1. My car will randomly not accelerate when the gas is being pressed. This has almost got me killed when making a left hand turn on more than 1 occasion now. The car also struggles with random shifting and power issues while going up steep hills at high speeds. 2. The front passenger side door and the rear drivers side passenger door just randomly stopped working with a week of each other. The rear wont open from the inside or outside. The front passenger side opens if you shake the handle back and forth multiple times (essentially trying to open it multiple times till it opens)
The contact owns a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that all four automatic windows failed to operate as needed. The front driver’s side window started failing and an appointment was scheduled with the dealer to repair the window. While testing the windows in the dealer parking lot after the repair, the front passenger’s side window fractured, and the dealer agreed to cover the cost of the repair free of charge. Over time, the rear windows started to lower independently, and the vehicle was repaired by an independent mechanic. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle intermittently failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lunge forward while accelerating. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

The vehicle will not accelerate properly. Several times, I have been on the interstate, and the vehicle would barely increase in speed. Several instances have let to life threatening situations. Numerous times, I have gone to get on the interstate, and the vehicle would slow to nearly a stop, and even when having no other choice but to floor the gas pedal, it still would not accelerate. I've been forced to go off the road, in the middle of the interstate, so many times I've lost track. It's dangerous, and needs to be addressed immediately. I'm considering a lawsuit.
Upon acceleration onto highway or up a hill the car at times will rev and not shift or move /increase speed. Getting onto the highway I have had to pull into the shoulder until vehicle snaps out of it and decides to shift. Extremely dangerous & happening more often than not now.
While back out of my driveway in my 2016 hyundai tucson, it suddenly accelerated on its own out of control rendering me helpless and just along for the ride. Finally stopped while in reverse the car went across the street crashing violently into my neighbors boat and engine was still reving until I shut it off after the crash. Both my car and neighbors boat had major damage.
When I go to accelerate my vehicle it does not accelerate properly. It actually slows down to the point of almost stopping. It is very dangerous when I am getting on the highway. I have had cars almost rear end me due to this issue. I travel with my children in this car.

HELLO, I BOUGHT A USED 2016 HYUNDAI TUCSON ECO LESS THEN A MONTH AGO FROM AUTONATION THAT HAD ONLY 40,000 MILES ON IT. WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF BUYING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE TURNED ON FOR A P259F TROUBLE CODE FOR A TURBOCHARGER POSITION SENSOR THAT I HAD GOT FROM USING AUTONATION'S VEHICLE APP. NATURALLY , I CALLED AUTONATION TO HAVE MY CAR FIXED, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF BEFORE I BROUGHT MY IN VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS. WHEN I DID BRING MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON FROM MY TURBO, BUT THAT IT HAD GONE OFF AND THAT THE CAR WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY, AND TO GO TO A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP FOR A SPECIAL DIAGNOSTIC IF THE ISSUE CONSISTED. ON THE SAME DAY OF GETTING MY CAR BACK, I STARTED NOTICING ENGINE PERFORMANCE ISSUES, MY ACCELERATION WOULD BE AFFECTED BY 1 TO 2 SECONDS WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT GO, AND WHEN IT WOULD FINALLY NOTICE THE THROTTLE IT WOULD JUMP KICK THE CAR. ALSO THE WORST OF ALL, IT ALSO CUT OUT AT ONE POINT WHERE IT DID NOT WANT TO GIVE ANY SORT OF THROTTLE AT ALL, I NEEDED TO HAVE MY FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE PEDAL TO JUST GO 30 MPH. DURING THAT TIME I NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD BE REVVING HIGH WHILE NO SPEED WAS BEING GAINED, AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS WHERE GOING OFF EITHER. BECAUSE OF THAT, I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE OUT OF AN INTERSECTION WHEN MAKING A TURN. WHAT MAKES ME BELIEVE THIS IS THE TURBO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, IS THAT THE WAY I GOT MY CAR TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY IS THAT I PARKED IT AND RESTARTED IT, AFTER THAT IT STARTED ACCELERATING NORMALLY, BUT AT TIMES THE ACCELERATION WOULD STILL BE AFFECTED.

EVEN AFTER REPROGRAMMING OF MY 2016 TUCSON DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT), I STILL WORRY ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR. TRANSMISSION IS STILL HERKY-JERKEY WHEN CREEPING ALONG IN TRAFFIC. ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS AT HIGHER SPEED (SAY MERGING INTO TRAFFIC AT 50-70 MPH) THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLOW TO CHANGE GEARS, AND ON AT LEAST ONE OCCASION THE TRANSMISSION TEMPORARILY WENT INTO A "NEUTRAL' STATE TEMPORARILY DISCONNECTED FROM POWER TRANSFER FROM THE ENGINE. IF THAT WERE TO HAPPEN SAY WHEN CROSSING TRAFFIC IT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS.

THE CAR JERKS AND THEIR IS DELAY TO GO WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A LIGHT. THE CAR WILL AT TIMES NOT GO INTO REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. I HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO COMPLETELY PUT CAR IN PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF, THEN RESTART THE CAR AND PUT IT INTO REVERSE BEFORE I CAN BACK IT OUT SUCCESSFULLY.

IT REFS AND RPM GOES UP BUT IT DOESN'T SWITCH GEARS UP OR DOWN SHIFT EITHER. THE ENGINE REVS HIGH AND WON'T SWITCH GEARS. IT'S LIKE IT WANTS TO ACCELERATE WHEN YOU WANT IT TO SLOW DOWN AND WHEN STOPPED IT WANTS TO STALL. TODAY IT HAPPENED. WE CAME TO A STOP SO WE COULD TURN LEFT ONTO AN ONRAMP ON HIGHWAY, (HAVE TO CROSS OVER OTHER LANE TO GO ON ON RAMP), AND IT STUTTERED AND STALLED ON OPPOSITE ONCOMING TRAFFIC SIDE, BEFORE WE COULD REACH THE RAMP. MY SON WAS DRIVING AND I WAS IN FRONT SEAT AND DAUGHTER WAS IN BACK SEAT, I GOT SCARED, AS YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT COMING OVER THE HILL ON SIDE WE STALLED (ONCOMING TRAFFIC). THE GUY SAW WE HAD STALLED AND RAN OUT AND STARTED WAVING SOMETHING DOWN. IT WAS AN ONCOMING SEMI. THANKFULLY HE WAS ABLE TO REDIRECT HIM OR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN STRUCK. WE GOT THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AND WERE ABLE TO GET HOME. I LOOKED UP WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND SAW THAT THERE WAS A MASS RECALL OF MY EXACT CAR MODEL, IN THE EXACT TIME FRAME OF VEHICLE BEING MADE. THE RECALL WAS FOR THE EXACT THINGS THAT ARE AND DID HAPPEN TO US. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND ASKED THEM WHY THEY NEVER DIVULGED THIS INFORMATION AND THEY SAID THE DIDN'T KNOW. I READ ON THE NHTSA SITE THAT MY EXACT SUV, MADE THE SAME DATE, HYUNDAI HAD RECALLED, BUT MINE FOR SOME REASON IS NOT. PROBLEM IS WHEN I PUT MY VIN IN, NOTHING COMES UP FOR A RECALL. I DON'T WANT TO PUT MY KIDS BACK IN THIS CAR. I JUST DROPPED $24,000 5 DAYS AGO IN A CAR LOAN. PLEASE HELP.

WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR COMPLETELY DIES AND CAN NOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES, HOWEVER THEY CLAIM THEY CANNOT REPRODUCE IT. THE PROBLEM HAPPENS FOR ME ONCE PER DAY! I OPENED A CASE WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE BUT THE CASE IS OPEN AND UNRESOLVED BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND ONLY HAPPENS ONCE PER DAY. AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM IS STILL A SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT CAUSES THE DRIVER TO LOSE THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE! IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD DIRECTLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED A RECALL FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V628000 (POWER TRAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INSTRUCTED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIRS. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.

I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN OCTOBER 2015, AND A RECALL ON THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT) WAS DONE IN FEBRUARY 2016. THE RECALL WAS TO FIX A KNOWN PROBLEM OF THE CAR'S INABILITY TO ACCELERATE AFTER REPEATEDLY PRESSING AND RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR. THE PROBLEMS STARTED IN MAY 2016 AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. I TOOK MY CAR TO HYUNDAI AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A NORMAL OPERATION OF DCT. IN DECEMBER 2016, THE SECOND PART OF THE DCT SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS DONE. ONCE THE WARMER WEATHER CAME, MY CAR HAD THE SAME ISSUES IN APRIL 2017, JUNE 2017 (TAKEN TO DEALER, UPDATE), SEPTEMBER 2017, THREE TIMES IN OCTOBER 2017 (TAKEN TO DEALER, NORMAL), AND TWICE IN MAY 2018. ALL OCCURRENCES WERE IN WARM WEATHER (77 DEGREES TO 82 DEGREES) AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN SITTING OUTSIDE ALL DAY. PRIOR TO OCTOBER, ALL INCIDENCES WERE TROUBLE ACCELERATING AFTER STOPPING IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. HOWEVER, ONE INCIDENT IN OCTOBER IS ALSO WHEN MY CAR WOULDN'T REVERSE, AND THE OTHER HAD A TRANSMISSION ERROR THAT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME PAST 51MPH. FOR THE SECOND OCCURRENCE IN MAY, THE CAR WAS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT TWO MILES, STOPPED AT A STORE PARKING LOT WITH THE AC RUNNING FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES, THEN HAD DIFFICULTY ACCELERATING, THE TRANSMISSION ERROR APPEARED AGAIN AT 32MPH LIMITING MY SPEED, AND I COULD NOT REVERSE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND DROVE THE CAR TO THEM. THE MECHANIC BELIEVED MY ISSUE AND DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE IT. MY CAR HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALER FIVE TIMES, AND I WAS JUST TOLD THAT MY CAR IS ACTING NORMALLY. SO I DECIDED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT I PROCEEDED INTO THE INTERSECTION ONLY TO HAVE IT NOT BE ABLE TO MOVE ANYMORE SO I WAS BLOCKING TRAFFIC. THE ONLY SOLUTION THERE IS TO "FIX" THIS EXTREMELY UNSAFE PROBLEM IS AN UPDATE! HYUNDAI SAID THAT I WOULD NEED TO CONTINUE TO BRING IT IN AS LONG AS I'M HAVING THESE ISSUES TO UPDATE. WHEN MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, I CAN'T ACCELERATE AND HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN MANY ACCIDENTS DUE TO LACK OF POWER AND ACCELERATION FROM THE DCT. THIS HAPPENS NOT ONLY WHEN MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, BUT ALSO IN RURAL AREAS LIKE THE HIGHWAY, MAIN CITY STREETS, AND NEIGHBORHOODS. THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY FROM A STOP OR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW SPEED. I HAVE A FAMILY, AND THE WHOLE REASON FOR THIS PURCHASE WAS BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY FEATURES; THERE IS NOTHING SAFE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. I TOOK MY 2016 TUCSON INTO THE DEALERSHIP ON 9/23/2016 TO ADDRESS THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION RECALL. PRIOR TO THAT, MY TUCSON WOULD RANDOMLY JERK, NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR, AND THE RPMS WOULD GO HAYWIRE. NOW, 10/12/2016, AFTER I TOOK IT IN FOR A RECALL, I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S HAPPENED ONCE IN SLOW TRAFFIC, AND JUST THIS MORNING ON THE HIGHWAY ON MY WAY TO WORK. THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE WITH THE VEHICLE CONCERNED THE COMPUTERIZED FUNCTIONS WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I COULD NOT SYNC MY PHONE TO THE CAR AND OTHER ISSUES . THE SECOND SIGN OF TROUBLE WAS WHEN I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ONE RAINY MORNING. I EXITED THE EXPRESSWAY AND STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT. ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN - THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I SAT THERE FOR A FEW LIGHTS ATTEMPTING TO GET THE CAR TO MOVE. IT FINALLY JERKED AND ACCELERATED VERY QUICKLY AND I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BECAUSE THEY ROAD TESTED THE CAR AND DID NOT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I KEPT HAVING ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS AFTER THIS, SUCH AS JERKING, LURCHING, LIGHTS FLICKERING IN AND OUT, TO NAME A FEW. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE CONFUSED AND I CONSIDER THIS CAR TO BE QUITE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. EVENTUALLY I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A HOOD LATCH - SOMETHING I DID NOT EVEN KNOW I NEEDED AND PERFORMED A SOFTWARE CLUSTER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A FULL WEEK. I GOT THE CAR BACK AND DID NOT HAVE IT 24 HOURS BEFORE IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN, BUT EVEN WORSE THAN BEFORE. IT STILL SHOOTS OUT AFTER THE ACCELERATOR HAS BEEN TAPPED GENTLY, LURCHES AND JERKS FORWARD, STALLS AND STOPS, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS RAINING. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO THINK ABOUT TRYING TO DRIVE THIS CAR ONCE THE WINTER HAS SET IN. I AM ALREADY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I TRIED SWITCHING TO MANUAL MODE. I TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON. NOTHING WORKED. IT WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS AS THOUGH IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. THEN WITHOUT REASON, IT BEGAN TO MOVE AGAIN. WHEN IT DID MOVE, IT WAS EXTREMELY JERKY AND LURCHED FORWARD A COUPLE OF TIMES. THAT WAS THE WORST AND MOST FRIGHTENING. LATELY ALL IT HAS BEEN DOING IS ONCE OR TWICE A DAY ON AVERAGE IT DOES THE SLOW ACCELERATION AND LURCH. THIS HAPPENS DURING MY MORNING AND EVENING COMMUTE. THEN WHEN YOU DO STEP ON THE GAS IT ALMOST QUITS THEN LURCHES. I'M TOLD ITS CAUSED BY THE MANUAL CELINOID WHICH CAUSES THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN ISSUES IN TRAFFIC WHERE IT ACCELERATES UNEXPECTEDLY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS IN A SEVEN DAY PERIOD, AFTER DECIDING THAT THIS IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AT TIMES. WHEN I MADE THE INITIAL APPT THE RECEPTIONISTS STATED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL VEHICLES IN FOR THIS ISSUE. THE INITIAL TIME AT THE DEALER, THEY COMPLETED THE LATCH RECALL AND RESET THE COMPUTER TO RELEARN THE SYSTEM, HOPING THAT WOULD BE THE SAVING GRACE. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER AND THE SOUND WAS SO LOUD WHILE DRIVING, THAT I PULLED OVER AND THE SOUND DIED DOWN AT BIT. MADE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO TAKE IN THE VEHICLE THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS NOT SURE WHAT WAS GOING ON. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK TO GO BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER TO HEAR THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. THE DEALER ACTS LIKE THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE CONCERN. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IT'S THE DESIGN OF THE CLUTCH THAT GIVES DRIVERS THE SLUGGISH FEEL. I DECIDED TO COME BACK TO HYUNDAI TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE AND I DEEPLY REGRET THAT DECISION.

FIRST, HYUNDAI DEAL SAID IT WAS THE DCT NEEDING UPDATE. SECOND, THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE ONCE IT ARRIVED AT DEALER, BUT I CONTEACT HYUNDAI CORPORATE TO HAVE A MONITORING DEVICE INSTALLED. THEY LEFT IT IN FOR LESS THEN A MONTH. THIRD, JUST OCCURED AND HYUNDAI HAS A NEW CASE ON THE VEHICLE. I INFORMED THEM VIA THE PHONE AND WILL SEND A CERTIFIED LETTER STATING THIS IS THE THIRD AND FINAL TIME, AND I WILL NOT ACCEPT THE VEHICLE BACK DUE TO THE HAZARDS IT CAN CAUSE ON THE ROAD INCLUDING COLLISION, BODILY HARD, AND EVEN DEATH.

I GOT THE TUCSON VEHICLE AND IN 2 DAYS THE AIR CONDITIONER ONLY BLEW HOT AIR WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I CALLED THE HYUNDAI SERVICE AGENT I WAS TOLD TO ONLY USE THE AIR CONDITIONER ON THE LOWEST FAN. IF I PUT IT ON A HIGHER SETTING IT WILL FREEZE UP AND BLOW ONLY HOT AIR. IT WAS 95 OUT SIDE. LATER I CAME TO A STOP AND WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. I LET OFF ON THE GAS AND TRIED AGAIN. THE ENGINE AGAIN REVVED UP FOR ABOUT 6 SECONDS THEN THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD. THE NEXT DAY I HAD PARKED ON A SMALL INCLINE. WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE I: PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE - RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE - PUT IT INTO DRIVE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS. THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT DID NOT GO FORWARD, INSTEAD IT ROLLED BACKWARDS ABOUT 6 TO 12 INCHES THEN IT POPPED INTO GEAR AND LURCHED FORWARD. EVERY TIME I DROVE THE CAR I HAD PROBLEMS WITH THAT HYUNDAI TUCSON. I FELT UNSAFE AND WAS WORRIED THAT THERE WOULD BE AN ACCIDENT WITH THE CAR ACTING LIKE IT DID. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I LOOKED ON LINE AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF REVIEWS OF THIS VEHICLE ALL STATING THE SAME PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING. SO, I TRADED IN MY 6 DAY OLD TUCSON FOR A SANTA FE - AND I AM VERY HAPPY NOW. THE TUCSON I FELT WAS THE MOST UNSAFE AND UNRELIABLE VEHICLE THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN. NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME ABOUT THESE KNOWN PROBLEMS AND/OR ISSUES WITH THE DUEL TRANSMISSION SYSTEM. ALL I CAN SAY IS THIS CAR IS A POTENTIAL LIFE THREATENING VEHICLE AND IF HYUNDAI DOES NOT TAKE CARE OF THESE ISSUES THEN THERE IS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF FATALITIES OCCURRING.

VEHICLE FAILS TO MOVE AND/OR ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL OR IT MOVES IN A VERY "JERKY" MANNER. I DO MOSTLY CITY DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND AFTER I HAVE COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, USUALLY AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. HAPPENED ONCE AFTER I FILLED UP THE CAR WITH GAS. AT THAT TIME THE ENGINE HAD BEEN OFF. SO AFTER I AM STOPPED, AND THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I HIT THE GAS. THE ENGINE REVS AND THE TACH CAN HIT 4000RPMS BUT I EITHER DON'T MOVE OR MOVE A MATTER OF INCHES. USUALLY LASTS 20 - 30 SECONDS. LAST WEEKEND IT WAS 45 SECONDS. (IT IS AS IF THE CAR IS IN PARK, WHICH IT IS NOT). EVENTUALLY THE CAR MOVES. FIRST STARTED AT ABOUT 6400 MILES; I NOW HAVE 7500 ON IT AND IT SEEMS TO BE OCCURRING MORE FREQUENTLY. IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE BACKING UP AS WELL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THEY SAID IT IS JUST THE WAY THIS CAR RUNS. (THEY ALSO MENTIONED THEY HAVE STARTED GETTING COMPLAINTS LIKE MINE WITH THIS MODEL CAR.) THE UPDATE DID NOTHING. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SITUATION. I AM AFRAID OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. *BF

THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH LACK OF ACCELERATION IN THIS VEHICLE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STANDSTILL. FOR EXAMPLE, FROM A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT. MOST TIMES, WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS WHEN I AM AT A STOP, THIS CAR HESITATES FOR A MOMENT BEFORE IT FINALLY LURCHES FORWARD. IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE WHEN I AM PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND THINK I HAVE ALLOWED MYSELF AMPLE TIME, THIS CAR HESITATES FOR SUCH A LONG TIME BEFORE FINALLY MOVING FORWARD IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT.

STOPPED AT A GAS STATION TO GET GAS, TURNED THE VEHICLE IGNITION OFF, PUMPED GAS, GOT BACK IN & STARTED THE VEHICLE, SAT THERE FOR A MINUTE OR TWO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK & PRESSED THE GAS, RPM'S REVVED WAY UP BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. CHECKED EVERYTHING TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T OVERLOOKING ANYTHING; NO 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT CAME ON OR ANY OTHER DASHLIGHTS, EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT ENGAGED. TURNED THE SWITCH OFF & ON SEVERAL TIMES, WAITING A FEW MINUTES EACH TIME, THEN WOULD START AND SHIFT INTO REVERSE (IT WOULD BACK UP), NEUTRAL, & FINALLY DRIVE & STILL NOTHING HAPPENED. FINALLY GAVE UP, PUT IT IN REVERSE & BACKED AWAY FROM THE PUMPS TO A SAFE PLACE. CALLED HYUNDAI BLUE LINK BUT THEY WERE NO HELP AS THE VEHICLE WASN'T SENDING ANY CODES. I TRIED A COUPLE MORE TIMES THEN GAVE UP & HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP (AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SALESMAN). ONCE IT WAS OFF THE TRUCK, THE SALESMAN TRIED IT SEVERAL TIMES & GOT THE SAME RESULT. HE WAS JUST AS STUNNED AS I WAS. ON MON I CALLED HYUNDAI AMERICA & OPENED A CASE SO THERE WOULD BE DOCUMENTATION. I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE OVER THE WEEKEND & FOUND A HYUNDAI FORUM WHERE PEOPLE WERE DISCUSSING THE SAME PROBLEM THAT I WAS HAD. I THEN WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP & MET WITH THE SERVICE DIRECTOR & THE TECHNICIAN WORKING ON MY VEHICLE. OF COURSE, THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO EVEN THOUGH IT HAD DONE THE SAME THING WITH THE SERVICE DIRECTOR THAT MORNING BUT HE FINALLY GOT IT TO MOVE. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED HYUNDAI TECH SERVICES & THEY MADE AN UPDATE/ADJUSTMENT. FOR NOW IT SEEMS TO BE FINE, BUT I AM TOTALLY PARANOID ABOUT DRIVING IT NOW! I THINK IT'S VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE NHTSA GET INVOLVED & GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

LET UP AND PRESSED AGAIN... NOTHING HAPPENED... LET UP AND PRESSED AGAIN... IT STARTED SLOWLY JERKING FORWARD, INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, IT KEPT JERKING AND SLOWLY ACCELERATED UNTIL I HIT ABOUT 5 GEAR, THEN IT SMOOTHED OUT. FRIGHTENING! 26 DAYS FROM PURCHASE, AT ~ 700 MILES, FROM A COLD START, BACKED OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE... REVVED THROUGH 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AND HADN'T MOVED YET... HIT 3RD GEAR AND IT JERKED FORWARD AND STARTED SLOWLY MOVING. 30 DAYS FROM PURCHASE, @ ~ 816 MILES, STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT... LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE... SHIFTED THROUGH ALL OF THE GEARS (PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE) SEVERAL TIMES... IN DRIVE FOR ABOUT THE 4TH TIME AND STOMPED ON THE ACCELERATOR... IT PEALED OUT... DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP... JERKILY PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT. JUST OVER 3 HOURS LATER, WAS TOLD THEY DISCHARGED THE CAPACITOR COMPLETELY AND "RE-TAUGHT IT" THE SYSTEM. THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE FIXED, BUT, I'M AT DAY 37 AND CAN SWEAR THAT IT HESITATED YESTERDAY AND THIS MORNING. WILL KEEP YOU ABREAST. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY DEADLY MALFUNCTION!

I HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY AND REAR SHOCK AT APPROXIMATELY UNDER 2000 MILES. IT HESITATES BADLY. IT DECELERATES AS I PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT HAD LOW COOLANT BEFORE A LONG TRIP SO I FILLED IT UP AS IT ADVISED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS HOT THE COOLANT WAS APPROXIMATELY 1/2 INCH TO 1 INCH BELOW THE MINIMUM FILL LINE. AFTER MY TRIP I TOOK IT TO THE CERTIFIED HYUNDAI DEALER SERVICE CENTER FOR TIRE ROTATION AND OIL CHANGE AND THEY ADVISED THE COOLANT WAS LOW AGAIN, BUT THAT THERE ARE NO LEAKS. I TOLD THEM I JUST FILLED IT UP AND SO THEY ARE CHECKING AGAIN FOR LEAKS. IT SLAMMED INTO GEAR AS I WAS GOING ON AN OFF RAMP FROM AN INTERSTATE. IT JERKED AND SHIMMIED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE WHEN I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT. IT IS BRAND NEW. IT SHOULD NOT BE HAVING SO MANY ISSUES AND NO ONE WILL HELP ME WITH IT I JUST KEEP HEARING "THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, IT IS JUST THE WAY HYUNDAI DESIGNED THE VEHICLE." HYUNDAI NEEDS TO WORK ON THIS. THERE SHOULD BE MULTIPLE RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. IT HAS A POPPING SOUND EVERY TIME I REACH 20 MPH AFTER TAKING IT OUT OF PARK. IT HAS A RATTLE IN THE FRAME/REAR PASSENGER DOOR AREA. NO PLACE CAN FIX THESE SOUNDS. I JUST HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT ALL. IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE SINCE PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER 2015. THIS REALLY NEEDS MULTIPLE RECALLS ON IT. I JUST GOT AN EMAIL ABOUT A HOOD LATCH RECALL TOO. NOT EVEN FROM HYUNDAI... FROM CAR FAX. HYUNDAI DID NOT CONTACT CONSUMERS REGARDING THE HOOD LATCH RECALL. THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO. THE DEALER DID NOT CONTACT ME ABOUT IT EITHER. THE DEALER, BOB POYNTER COLUMBUS, IN REFUSES TO SERVICE MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY WILL NOT SPEAK WITH ME AT ALL. THEY WILL NOT TELL ME WHERE THEY OBTAINED MY VEHICLE FROM AS A DEALER TRADE EITHER.

IT SLOWLY ENGAGED AND LURCHED FORWARD AFTER APPROX 3-5 SECONDS. 5/19/2016 @ 1800 COND-RAIN /NOT DRIVEN IN APPROX 4 DAYS. LESS THAN A MILE FROM START AND HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR APPROX 3-5 MINS-WHILE WAITING AT A STOP LIGHT I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED AND THE VEH DID NOT MOVE. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE ENGINE REVVED FOR APPROXIMATELY 5-7 SECONDS BEFORE THE VEH LURCHED/JUMPED FORWARD AND SLOWLY MOVED. I AGAIN IMMEDIATELY WENT TO HYUNDAI. I WAS GIVEN A LOANER VEHICLE - 2016 TUCSON. 5/21/2016 @ 1350 SAME NON-MOVEMENT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OCCURRED W/THE LOANER VEHICLE. IT HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN IN 2 DAYS COND-RAINY. THIS OCCURRED APPROX 3 MINS AFTER START AND W/IN A MILE. HYUNDAI CORP ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUES WITH THIS VEH. 3 SIMILAR ISSUES FROM CUSTOMERS WERE REPORTED TO THIS DEALERSHIP. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEH OR ALLOWING ANY MEMBER OF MY FAMILY TO DRIVE THIS VEH. IT IS AN ACCIDENT IN WAITING EITHER FROM BEING HIT FROM BEHIND BY ANOTHER VEH OR FROM STRIKING ANOTHER B/C OF THE LURCHING. I HAD TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND HOPE THAT I DID NOT GET HIT FROM BEHIND. I AM NOT SATISFIED AND WANT A REFUND FOR BOTH OF THE VEH'S I PURCHASED DUE TO THIS HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. THE CAR OCCASIONALLY EXHIBITS THE FOLLOWING BEHAVIOR: 1.UPON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO BE IN A GEAR HIGHER THAN FIRST, WHICH THEN CAUSES THE MOTOR TO STALL AND LOSE POWER FOR ONE TO THREE SECONDS BEFORE RESUMING ACCELERATION. THE LOSS OF POWER PUTS THE CAR IN PERIL OF BEING REAR ENDED BY VEHICLES FOLLOWING BEHIND. 2.WHEN IN THIS STATE, MOVING THE GEARSHIFT LEVER LEFT TO ENTER MANUAL MODE FAILS ' THE TRANSMISSION STAYS IN DRIVE DESPITE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ENGAGE MANUAL MODE. 3.BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION NEVER DOWNSHIFTS TO LOWER GEARS, THE CAR RUNS ROUGH AT SLOWER SPEEDS. 4.TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN RESTORES IT TO NORMAL OPERATION UNTIL THE ERRANT BEHAVIOR HAPPENS AGAIN ON RANDOM, UNPREDICTABLE OCCASIONS. THIS CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A TURBO-CHARGER. A FACTORY RECALL TO FIX AN ACCELERATOR HESITATION IMPROVED, BUT DID NOT ELIMINATE, SAID HESITATION.
