I purchased a CPO 2017 Hyundai Tucson in June'22 and brought it in for engine stuttering, the car stalling in intersections and was told they couldn't duplicate the problem. I emailed and brought the car in again and still noting was rectified. I've made the oil changes, changed spark plugs, flushed the engine in July and got new oil and everything looked at and in October the engine seized while my husband was driving to work: no oil lights on no engine lights on. Neither Hyundai or the extended warranty will help. My VIN didn't come up in a recall but there's too many problems with other 2017 I would hope they'd look again and help their customers.
Sensors something to do with the motor and not sure where the other sensors is related to could be the motor as well. The safety was not good due to it shut off in the middle of traffic and making wraddling noise. I took the vehicle to the dealership where purchase from. They have done nothing besides fixed one thing that I know of supposed to been the surpension. But the other problems was not fixed No it has not been inspected by anyone The warning lamp come on and just blinking none stop
Paint is starting to peel of on my sedona sunset tucson 2017
Every time I get the oil changed I have to add 2-5 quarts of oil in between changes. I had the catalytic converter replaced 3 years ago and now I have to do it again. I’ve had nothing but issues with this car and oil consumption. I shouldn’t need another catalytic converter again after only a few years. I’m doing my 3rd oil consumption test right now.
Hyundai Tucson 2017 – Known Transmission Defect Ignored I own a 2017 Hyundai Tucson with the dual-clutch transmission. For months I experienced serious hesitation and sputtering when accelerating from a stop or low speed—a clear safety risk when trying to merge into traffic or cross intersections. On July 23, 2025, I dropped my vehicle at Huffines Hyundai in Plano. It sat there for nearly a month until August 21, when they finally admitted they could reproduce the issue. The problem matched exactly what Hyundai itself identified in its own service bulletins regarding this model’s transmission. Despite acknowledging it’s a known defect, Hyundai: Refused to cover the repair, Would not even reimburse my $200 third-party warranty deductible, Has failed to issue a recall, leaving countless owners with the same unsafe problem. This is deplorable customer care. Hyundai and its dealerships know this defect exists, can reproduce it, and yet leave customers to pay out of pocket for a manufacturer-caused safety hazard. Buyers should beware—Hyundai is not standing behind its vehicles.
The vacuum pump cap was diagnosed as the issue. All the lights came on the dash. I lost power steering and speedometer. There has been recalls for other years.
My door to drivers side only fully unlocks from the inside. When my door is locked it now requires me to climb through another door of my car and pop open the drivers door. If I were to get in an accident people wouldn’t be able to get me out if I was incapacitated.
UNKNOWN There is a issue with paint on the car. The paint is white and is chipping on hood, top of car and back of car. The car looks terrible with a cheap paint job.
My vehicle began experiencing issues around 83,000 miles. The engine started burning oil, showed shuddering during acceleration, and there was a noticeable smell of gasoline inside the cabin. Eventually, the car wouldn’t start, so I had it towed to the dealership. The technicians confirmed it was running rough and behaving abnormally. The Hyundai dealership conducted a full inspection and diagnosed several issues. They replaced the spark plugs, performed a GDI-safe induction cleaning, replaced the coolant and brake fluids, completed a transmission fluid service, installed a new battery, carried out wheel alignments, and changed the cabin air filter. All of this work was completed in October 2024. However, in December 2024, I had to return to the dealership because the fuel smell inside the cabin persisted. Although they couldn’t find the source of the issue, the smell eventually disappeared after the visit. Following that, I was advised to check my oil every 3,000 miles due to the GDI engine's reputation for burning oil quickly. Despite this, the car began running rough again, and when I checked the oil, it was completely dry—well before reaching the 3,000-mile mark. I had to get another oil change sooner than expected. Unfortunately, the issue continued. I brought the vehicle back to the dealership for another inspection. They suggested starting a monitoring process where I would bring the car in every 1,000 miles to check the oil levels. After driving 1,000 miles, the oil level was just slightly above the low mark—still not normal for such a short distance. I urgently need assistance to move forward with the engine replacement process before my warranty expires. I am currently at 91,000 miles.
My car is experiencing trouble accelerating, making it difficult to drive. Every time I come to a complete stop at a stop sign, my car struggles to regain speed. This issue becomes particularly dangerous on the expressway, as I can’t accelerate at a decent speed to merge onto the expressway, which poses a risk to both me and other drivers.
My harmonic balancer went bad after 120,000 miles causing my camshaft pully to shear off and a bolt to come loose causing me to have to replace my entire engine. I was told by my mechanic that this is a very rare occurring issue. Could this have happened because of a faulty harmonic balancer?
Structure issue, white paint is peeling off in chunks on hood, roof, and doors. There is a paint recall involving other hyundai vehicles of the same year and color. I am tired of having exposed unprotected metal being to rust and ruin the integrity of the part.
So in December of 2022 the vehicle above was recalled for Service Campaign 966 by hyundai and was completed. In 2024 it had the same issues again and the knock sensor was replaced twice in 2024. We just purchased the vehicle in January 2025 and know are having the same issuse and code showing the knock sensor is having issues. We reported it to the dealer we purchased from long hyundai of chattanooga and they aren't helping to resolve the issue. All they did before we bought it was say it had a weak battery and supposedly replaced the battery.
I was using the access road to get on the highway but when I tried to accelerate the car was slow to accelerate and I almost got hit by other cars. I don’t know what happened but now I have a steady check engine light. When I called a mechanic he said I have a TSB from 2021 for the Dual Clutch but I didn’t see anything for this and my SaferCar app doesn’t mentions it either.
My car hesitates when leaving a stop sign or light. It is random and I have no power to continue. If I put car in park than go sometimes it works, sometimes push down on gas more or sometimes I have to turn car off than back on. 2 near miss accidents
2017 Tucson no engine light came on no oil gauge light came on.Never received engine recall notice but engine rod bearing rubbing .Car is now Un drivable as it needs new engine
Under 40,000 took vehicle in to check because of hesitation when accelerating. They checked and could not duplicate issue so sent me on my way. Reached 70,000 and hesitation is worse. Getting and merging on highway, turning from stop, and feels like it’s going to stall when going up inclines. No incident yet just notifying maybe something wrong with other peoples.
Rear driver side door suddenly will not open from outside or inside. A rear passenger would be essentially trapped in the car should an incident/accident happen. I googled and it seems this is a well known issue affecting several model years of Hyundai, including my 2017 model. I do not see a recall for this extremely dangerous issue.
I change the oil every 2000 miles and use what it states. Second oil change that noticed the oil drained out of the vehicle was close to nothing. First of all no warning indication oil was that low. It vibrates when it’s still and when you accelerate it tugs. Took it to the dealership where purchased extended warranty. Temporary fix is combustion cleaning with re seat piston rings then a valve cleaning and pcv replacement. Permanent solution replace the engine which warranty won’t cover since it’s technically not broken. Charging me ridiculous amount money for temporary fix. What if the oil goes else where or doesn’t notified low oil. It can catch on fire or all of sudden stops. I have my two babies with me in the car always it’s our family car. Vehicle has been inspected by dealership not inspected by police insurance representatives or others. No indication no warning signs pop up of low oil. It’s consuming too much oil which it’s going to other places in the engine which can cause fire risk. I’m trying to prevent the engine cause a fire or risk to myself or my family.
Automobile is consuming a huge amount of oil. The vehicle does not have an oil leak.
After I have to various amounts of weight in the rear of the vehicle, the vehicle rattles in the rear. Trying to stop said vehicle is very unstable. The left front of the vehicle dips when brakes are applied. And the rear of said vehicle makes a lot of noise.
In June of 2023 at around 79,000 miles. I was driving on the highway and had a sudden loss in acceleration and would not go above 65 mph. During the inspection, the dealership ran the vehicle through 3 tests of oil consumption and it failed 2 out of 3 which did not result in a replacement of the oil pan system. My car continues to burn through oil at an increased rate (every 3000 miles). I know because the dip stick is completely dry when checking it. In July of 2024 at around 84,000 miles, while driving on the interstate, I experienced a loss in acceleration again. My Tucson would not accelerate over 65mph. I took it into the dealership and they found that my catalytic converter needed to be replaced. The replacement was estimated to cost around $5000. For each incident, there were no warning lamps that illuminated on the dash. The oil light did not come on nor did the engine light come on.
Constantly have to get oil changes. Initially when I would be due for another oil change, the mechanic mentions there is no oil. I started to come sooner than the due date and mileage and same issue. Oil is burning quickly. Car is stuttering and jerky on acceleration, but my car is not apart of that recall. The car headlights continues to change on it on and filters through the light settings on it’s on at random times.
Passenger side back door will not open from the inside or outside when unlocked. No damage or accident history. Those in the back seat are unable to exit the vehicle in a safe or timely manner. No warnings or messages about this problem. According to Hyundai forums, this is a common issue.
After owning my vehicle for 4 years, it has started burning oil. Burning about 2 quarts every 14 days. Was directed by dealership to perform oil consumption test every 1000 miles, which is all logged through the dealership and was sent on my way. The problem is now affecting my spark plugs and could packs. After all we're replaced/changed, when plugs are removed, they are covered in oil and are fried! Hyundai has not addressed the issue, but many consumers have this same problem.
Driver/ Front door latch does not open from the exterior. This is a problem on many Hyundai Tuscons from 2016-2021. Hyundai has not addressed the problem. This issue was recalled on their previous models - but not the current ones. This is a safety issue if there is an accident first responders have to break the glass to get to the passenger.
The paint just started chipping off slowly
Campaign 209. Hyundai is refusing to provide assistance under recall campaign 209 for our VIN. Our vehicle has premature rod bearing failure causing engine failure. Rod knock noise. My wife drives the 2017 Hyundai Tucson. This year in June 2023 our vehicle check engine light came on for knock sensor. Soon after the vehicle started having acceleration issues, then the oil pressure warning light would come on and off. The vehicle oil level was checked, and we learned the vehicle oil level was low. The vehicle was through burning oil. The vehicle had burned through a quart of oil with no explanation. Our VIN # for our vehicle indicates there is an active recall Campaign #209 for Rod bearing issues with our specific model and VIN. Our specific vehicle and VIN when entered into Hyundai’s website reflects active recall. We took the vehicle into Red Mccombs Hyundai Northwest to have our vehicle evaluated. Red Mccombs submitted a PA to Hyundai for engine replacement. They denied coverage stalling vehicle is no longer under warranty but made no mention of active recall. We got Hyundai Consumer Affairs involved and had same result with denial stalling vehicle is no longer under warranty. We then brought up recall #209 explaining we are having all the same issues they list on their website for this active recall. Dealer refused to look at rod bearings stalling we would have to pay for them to inspect rod bearings. Hyundai consumer affairs had us take it to another Hyundai service dept. for a second opinion. As Hyundai consumer affairs requested, we drove vehicle to principle Hyundai of boerne. While driving my vehicle from Red Mcccombs Hyundai Northwest to Principle Hyundai of Boerne it failed on the highway. The vehicle was making a loud knocking noise and would not accelerate past 50 mph. Check engine light was on again. We managed to bring the vehicle into Principle Hyundai of Boerne and they evaluated the vehicle. The service advisor immediately agreed to hearing the knocking noise. After evaluating the vehicle, the te
Four days while driving on streets and freeways in Oklahoma City My 2017 Hyundai Tucson turned off and stalled. Lots of lights came on. Luckily I was able to get out of traffic without getting rear ended. I took the suv to local Hyundai dealer and they couldn’t find the problem. The second time I took it to the dealer they replaced sensor crankshaft to clear lights that were coming on. Paid $209.27 for multi point inspection and paid $412.62 for second repair. I’m frustrated because I was without transportation for 4 days. Dealerships did not offer a car for me to drive.
Car just stopped in the middle of highway.
Back end of the glass roof shattered unexpectedly while driving down the highway at 65mph. No visible debris or rocks just a loud bang of the glass suddenly breaking.
UNKNOWN While driving, the check engine light came on and the car started idling rough. When accelerating the car would shake tremendously, feeling like it would die right there in the middle of the road. When I stopped at where I was going, I checked the oil and there was no oil in the engine. I added oil but it did not help the situation. I made an appointment with the dealership in Waco, Texas and when I showed up they stated they no longer had room for me and to make another appointment. They also stated I didn’t have a warranty as I am not the original owner even though I purchased the extended warranty and I have not passed the mileage or date. This is unacceptable as I do not feel safe driving my car and they did not honor the appointment I made.
Car has 125,000 mi on it. This will be the 3rd catalytic converter in 2 years. Second one was March of 2022. I have excessive oil consumption (1QT every other week). Which I believe causes the exhaust system to clog. It’s an engine flaw design I believe. The issues isn’t the converter but the oil consumption contributing to the clogging. The vehicle actually had complete engine failure while I was driving on the interstate Dec 23, 2023 driving at 70 miles an hour! It was caused by the clogged converter! I could have died! Thank you.
With eco/turbo boost engaged, acceleration is intermittently delayed 2-4 seconds. This issue has endured for the last 2 years since I have owned this vehicle. After pulling onto a very busy main road, with power boost engaged and accelerator was fully engaged (to the floor) with NO response, the vehicle stays in place. After looking online, it appears that hundreds of other Hyundai customers have complained about this same defect, boiling it down to a dual clutch transmission. I took my vehicle to the dealership but they cannot repair this unless the acceleration delay happens while being test driven. This is a dangerous and unsafe feature, considering the vehicle has a eco boost system.
The front passenger door will not open from the outside. I press the unlock button several times, but it still won't open. I have to either open it from the inside or continuously pull on the outside handle lightly a few times to get the door open. I had the same issue with the driver side door. Obviously there is some kind of defect with the latch/actuator/locking system on these vehicles, and it needs to be addressed as it's a safety concern.
Transmission is slipping or not adjusting when driving. Very slow acceleration and it feels like the gears are not shifting properly
The vehicle drove fine on Christmas Eve. Then Christmas Day while leaving from a visit the car was in then randomly shut off in the middle. Checked the inside. No issues. Made it home and tried to go back out, the car crunk up and after a few seconds cut off. Tried it again and it started knocking. Checked everything again. Tried to crank the car up after about 30 seconds the car got extremely loud and shut off again. A mechanic came to check the car and said it was the engine/motor. Then another mechanic at the shop mentioned that it appears to be similar to the issues in recall 209. Along with multiple other possibilities since Hyundai has been having issues with engines for years.
Rear driver side door will not open from the inside or out. Front driver side door intermittently will not open from the outside. Unable to get children out of car is a serious risk. Many reports online about same issues with this vehicle.
Vehicle doesn't want to accelerate when it is suppose to. Press on the gas pedal and it goes to the floor and when it does decide to accelerate it erratic. VERY scary and unsafe. Has almost gotten my daughter and I in an accident.
When I'm stopped at a light and go to push on the gas, the vehicle doesn't move, then all of a sudden it just takes off. Next the exterior driver side door handle doesn't open I have to pull on it a few times then it opens, there's like a delay. There are tones of complaints online about this, it's like the 2017 model's were just looked over when it came to SAFETY. My car only has 70K. Thank you.
THE CAR STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION DO NOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 60 miles per hour and turned on the signal the engine and to get to 60 mph it goes slow little by little without strength since it only reaches 2000 rpm it does not go higher than there. In addition, all the lights on the blackboard came on, which means that I can't tell if there is something wrong with the car or not because everything is on. The proximity sensors don't work, and I get the code for engine is P1326 and the anti-Lock Brake System the computer show the code C1211-02, C1207-02, C1210-02, C1208-02 Y C1209-01.I took it to the Hyundai agency in Miami Lake where I bought it and where they told me that the car had 10 years or 100,000 miles of warranty and when I arrived the person who received me without passing the car to diagnosis or anything told me that repair costs you $700,00 and tells me that to my warranty covers the engine, the engine has to be completely damaged; I explained to her the engine was in bad shape that it was better to do the repair than to change an entire engine if it was still being used, but she was still in the same negative until she left. I need to make this report because I didn't have any help from the Hyundai that sold me the car and which is still under a factory warranty. I consider this a violation and abuse of consumer rights by deceiving the American people with a guarantee that they then do not want to fulfill
This car has a the 7 speed DCT. This transmission is VERY unsafe. I have been fighting with the transmission losing power and being jerky for the last year or so. After looking online I found that EVERYONE with this transmission is having the issue. You never know when you will have power and it has almost got me into a major accident several times. There was a Class action lawsuit agains Hyundai in 2016 for the DCT transmission and they Hyundai lost. Yet they still put the same unsafe transmission in the 2017 and said they fixed it. Hyundai needs to be held accountable for lying to the consumer as well as putting the consumer in an unsafe situation.
We are getting a Knock sensor ERROR & Oil consumption issue. So last year I had a few recalls on my car, I took it to the dealer for then to do the updates. One of the recalls was the knock sensor. Also last year, the check engine light come on and Tires plus said it was my Knock sensor. Tires Plus cleared the code and it was fine until I had an oil change due this month I still had 3000 miles before it was due and the check engine light came on again, But this time I couldn't drive over 20 mph. I had to get it towed to a mechanic in Collegeville. His diagnostics was it was the knock sensor, He told me that Hyundai knows this is a problem but won’t fix it until it presents a problem. That being said The Collegeville Mechanic said its called a quiet recall. When I called Hyundai corp. recall center they told me that they don’t recognize quiet recalls. I had an appointment with the Springfield Hyundai Aug. 3, 2023 They would even look at it because the code was cleared but I called them first when it happened to get it towed there and they push the appointment back 3 weeks. I couldn't wait I need to get to work. I Also Recently 9/18/2023 Conicelli Hyundai and the guy told me when I got there that they have a whole lot full of Hyundai's that need Oil consumption test and would be able to look at my care un till March of 2024 That I have to take it back to where I bought it. Hyundai and Kia know of this issue but wont fix. WHY? I hope you can help me because I'm at a loss here and I have only had this car for 2 yrs I should be having this issue. I take good care if my car.
Makes a noise and oil was low with no leaks
Rear passenger door will not open without manually adjusting the internal door handle components with a screwdriver (or similar tool). This poses a huge safety risk, trapping a passenger in the vehicle. I am in the process of having the door repaired, but this issue has been recalled on other models and the cost of repair should not be on the consumer, since it is a known defect.
Vehicle caught fire while driving despite recall fixes. Vehicle was serviced by a dealership a week prior to the incident. While driving the ABS and other lights on the dash starting flashing, the steering was started to go out then smoke started coming into the car vents inside the vehicle. While I was not injured my only saving grace was that I was already in the left lane during rush hour traffic. The vehicle was inspected by both insurance as well as a Hyundai USA representative, the Hyundai representative would not state the cause of the incident citing "proprietary information". The vehicle is a total loss. There was not any crash involved to ignite a fire.
Back door does not open without manipulation of pushing in the cable line in the door handle. Cannot exit or enter without doing so
There is no accident. My paint is peeling around the rear windows. The paint color is dazzling white.
The 2017 hyundai tucson will trap you inside the car. The doors will work intermittently and other times they simply will not open. Even when the car is unlocked. This was recalled on certain models and years but not this one. Huge safety concern being trapped inside the car or stuck outside car.
NHTSA Recall Number: 993 Recall Description: Inspect and Anti Theft Software Upgrade
The front and back driver side door lock actuator assemblies stopped work. The driver side rear door stopped unlocking from the inside and outside all together, locking you in the car.
My car has been using extreme amount of oil and they did a combustion test. Who knows if they did it right.every few hundred miles after all, and I took it to Hyundai and Barnes Crossing Tupalo Mississippi. They say they do have to hook it up to $286 to see if what’s wrong but it is using all a lot of oil. They refused to check mine and refused to fix the problem when it gets low of oil, it clicks in the engine. It also has a vacuum leak and they won’t fix see it without hooking it up and charging me. It is still under 100,000 miles I have a card to show warranty and I am under warranty. What do I do now to get this car fixed very dissatisfied and they are warning me to buy another, no way they don’t stand beside their cars. thank you so much for your time. I am still waiting to get this engine fixed. Also, black is in tail pipe like oil. HELP PLEASE! I’ve Called corporate two times on them and I’ve had to Called and ar and still under warranty but they still won’t fixit. Cooperate suggested maybe going to another Hyundai dealership. What is your opinion?
Engine fail, no warning till it happened, her car just stopped at night in the middle of the road while she was driving, she then smelled something burning and got right out of the car and called a tow truck. The car was towed to a Hyundai dealership where we were later told it was an engine block, and the car was basically burning gas. Cars been in the shop since January because the engine had to be shipped in parts from overseas. When the new engine had finally arrived, they took the old engine out and saw that the Pistons headshot shrapnel through the starter and through this turbo part, which is also now on back order. I do not know if the vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, or the police. I feel very uneasy about the safety of this vehicle given everything that’s happened and even though it’s showing that it’s not on the recall list from what I’m reading and what I understand everything that’s happened the vehicle should’ve been recalled. With the new findings of the shrapnel shooting through the car knowing that that could’ve been a catastrophic incident I could’ve killed my daughter is very unsettling. The car was purchased just under five months before this happened.
The back door is stuck close. All other doors open just fine.
The rear passenger door will not open making getting my child in and out of the car impossible unless she rides in the front passenger seat even though she’s only 7.
My vehicle did not accelerate when I pressed the gas - also I am low on oil and I’m not due for an oil change, meaning there is an oil consumption issue with the engine. Something is wrong with the engine/oil.
It's like the transmission has hesitation before it decides to go. I step on the gas and it doesn't go right away, it takes a couple seconds and then the rpms go up really high. There has been no accident but this has happened many times.
2022-1-09 Left the house to run errands and noticed the car seemed sluggish when I stepped on the gas to accelerate. I'd actually felt like this may have been happening for some time but it is a "Sport" and it always felt a little funky when you accelerrated. It was blistery cold so my initial thought was I left too quickly and the vehicle maybe needed time to warm up. It felt like the engine didn't either seem to be shifting to a higher gear, or getting enough power to accelerate which was very concerning as this happened as I pulled out onto a busier road, yet couldn't accelerate. I made it to my first stop but called my husband to express concern something seems off with the vehicle. I told him I would likely skip my errands and come home for him to take a look. After my stop, I started the Tucson up to head home - and now the check engine light came on (solid)! Apparently flashing check engine is more serious? I was able to make the drive home to unload groceries but the whole ride home I couldn't accelerate properly so it was a scary drive home, I drove slowly on backroads and used my flashers to get home safely. We immediately called the Hyundai dealer near us which closed. Called four times the next am as we needed whatever was going on fixed quickly. Once the vehicle was at the dealer, we learned it had complete transmission failure. Thankfully it appears this is under warranty. It is STILL at the dealer as it needed to get an inspector to come out to confirm it was transmission failure (which has now been confirmed 10 days later).
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION causing engine failures. Excessive engine oil consumption, will also shorten the service life of, oxygen sensors and catalytic converters, spark plugs and much more. ALL which I have had to replace since buying vehicle used in May 2021. This vehicle is not on the vehicle engine replacement recall campaign and I am not sure why. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR ENGINE MANUFACTURING PROBLEM. Hyundai should be responsible for manufacturing problems and they also should do what it takes to fix the problem. MY REQUEST: for Hyundai to reimburse me the money I have spent fixing, repairing and money spent on oil to operate this vehicle. AS all the information shows, this is a manufacturing issue with the engine and NO VEHICLE should consume/burn this much oil. It has been proven that EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION causes engine and parts failures. THERE are no leaks detected either by the dealership or repair shops. Frequently having an oil change doesn’t change anything. I had an oil change (yes I have all receipts of repairs) less than a month ago and I have already had to put in 2 quarts of oil.
While driving, switched window buttons, driver side front and passenger front, windows will not return to closed position. Also rear windows will not operate as well. When window buttons pressed, clicks and whirring sound heard but windows do not go up. Also lights flash on on transmission gear lights, P, R, N, D. Automatic seat functions also do not work. Cannot adjust driver position to effective driver position. Have left multiple VM's with dealer with no response. CMA Hyundai, Colonial Heights VA.
I was driving park the car and it wouldn't turn back on . I open the door and the car turn back on . The radio everything reset. Now again couples of days later I was putting gas on the car went finish the car wouldn't start like if no electricity wiered . Everything again reset I am terrified that is a electrical problem. Is to danger. It should be a recalled for this. I think this problem that I am having with my Hyundai Tucson 2017 has electrical problem. And I ain't the only one .
The transmission consistently slips, or does not engage. It sputters, jerks, or simply does not go when the accelerator is depressed. One incident was so bad that when it finally engaged, it threw me back against my seat then sputtered and moved ahead slowly, all while merging into traffic. Very dangerous!
my vehicle stalls on take off and I have been told it is a dual clutch issue and is not correctable. I find that very frustrating since they new this problem existed when I purchased the vehicle new and never told me of the problem. Sometimes when I take off or turn it stalls and that is dangerous. I have tried several time to resolve this issue with no luck. It still does it and it is not fixable. There is no excuse for that.
Subsequently following an engine replacement due to recall, there is now an electrical issue which has caused something to burn or possibly start fire as there is a burning smell from the hood and heat coming from under the hood into the car's cabin from the dashboard area and the drivers seat bottom is very hot. The heat increases rapidly inside the car from the engine, whenever it is on and running or on and idle. This is obvious how my life was at risk as every time i put the key in ignition, my life was at risk of fire or explosion or worse while driving. Car also sputters or stays idle when trying to quickly accelerate and this happens at random. The following list is more (minor) electrical malfunctions that have gradually become noticeable as I was using the vehicle: Cigarette light/phone charger power outlet does not stay connected and works sporadically; Dashboard alerts are random and inaccurate; Seems tires fall below normal psi daily and need to be filled with air more frequently tires were new before recall repairs. Oil changes more frequent also. Light bulbs burned out. Problems ongoing and i am unable to drive vehicle due to risk of death.
Was driving to work when I stopped at a light in traffic and my engine turned off. The battery and oil pressure light turned on. Started to see smoke under the hood and 5 minutes later the entire front end of the car was on fire.
This car was bought in 2019 from Car Max. Every few months, I get a check engine light and was part of a recall notice. I went to Hyndai Dealer CMA's Colonial Hyndai in Chester VA 23831 with the recall notice. They gave me a receipt that there are no issues on 17th May 22which was incorrect. My check engine light keeps coming on for an oil change and I had an emergency travelling from Viriginia to Atlanta and have to pull over to the closest repair shop where they indicated that recall issue was not resolved as the engine was consuming more oil faster resulting in the check engine light. I was surprised to hear that as the dealer indicated that there are no issues with regards to the recall. This was unacceptable from a dealer who was supposed to diagnose the problem and let the customer know that the engine problem still exists and you need to have engine oil changed every 2 months. If an engine recall indicates the engine requires a replacement they should have done an honest job and not fill the engine oil and let the customer know that there are no issues. I have all the documentation from the dealer that no issues were found but every day I drive, I am worried that car could stop anytime which is unnecessary stress owning this car. Any help in escalating this issue with the dealer or Hyundai in doing the right thing for their defective manufacturing will be appreciated.
Car has randomly and completely shut down while driving (electrical components flash on the interior) with no ability to accelerate on four different incidences on 05/18/22, 05/19/22, 05/27/22 and 06/17/22. Requested an appointment at my dealership to have the car inspected on 06/01/22 but was called 2.5 hours before the appointment on 06/18/22and informed that they could not inspect on the day I had selected. Without the ability to accelerate, had to coast to the side of the road to stop. To reset the vehicle, the vehicle has to be placed in park, shut off, and restarted. Three of these instances were in the city with very little room to pull over and one instance was on the highway at 65 mph and I had to navigate across two different lanes of traffic without the ability to accelerate. There have been no warning signs before the instances occurred.
Without warning, my car stalled and came to a stop while I was driving it. No warning lights had come on prior to the incident, but several came on after it stopped. I put the vehicle in park and attempted to restart it, and even though the start button lights indicated the the car was on, the engine would not start again. This is a safety issue because the car just stalled with no warning and I was not able to move it anywhere. If I had been on a highway or making a left turn, my children and I would have been seriously injured or killed. The car has been at the dealership since the incident, almost a week, and they have not yet looked at it or told me what is wrong with it. I have left 3 messages for the general manager and they have not responded.
Myself, like others I have seen report the issue. The door (for me driver side front) will not open from the outside latch after door is unlocked. Can only open door from inside latch.
My 2017 Hyundai Tucson refuses to accelerate after a complete stop at a traffic light, or just refuses to change gears after making a turn, or simply just lose power although on cruise control while drive on the freeway. I have reported the issue several times to Hyundai and the dealership, it seems that nothing can't be done and Hyundai is not taking my concerns seriously. I am not afraid to drive the car since I have a long commute to work, I escape several accidents before because the other drivers were cautious and kind enough when they notice that my car couldn't accelerate. Drivers have blown the horn at me on the highway because the car refuses to accelerate or change gear while I am driving. I can press the gas pedal all the way down, still nothing. When I press the gas pedal down, the engine start shaking and making a weird noise while the car still not accelerating or changing gears. I also notice that I am burning more fuel than expected, and I always get below the average for typical MPG. I personally consider this car is unsafe to drive, and I am strongly thinking about trade it in.
Due to a faulty alarm and anti-theft system, my car was broken into and stolen. This has been an ongoing epidemic and Hyundai has done nothing to acknowledge and fix the situation. Even though the car is equiped with an alarm system, it only works for specific areas of the car, and rear windows can be broken and pried open without activating the alarm. The ignition can then be ripped out and driven without the key.
There was a recall for a malfunction in my engine that could potentially cause the vehicle to catch on fire. The signs associated were knocking in the engine, failure to accelerate, check engine light was on, and the oil light would come on when making turns. I made these observations before a recall was issued, and tried to have vehicle repaired from Priority Hyundai in Chesapeake, VA. They had my vehicle for 6 days and failed to diagnose my vehicle. Less than a month later, my daughter and I were almost hit on the interstate due to the car failing to accelerate. Took my vehicle to Hall Hyundai in Newport News, VA. They performed the recall items, and the car ran better, but I could still hear the knocking. February 7, 2022, my daughter and I were stranded because the car was not accelerating again. Pulled over to an Advanced Auto Parts store and the technician said there was a problem with the gaskets, but said he wouldn't drive it. Had my car taken back to Hall Hyundai and was told there wasn't any oil on the dipstick, but they had changed the oil a month before. Had an engine combustion cleaning done. Picked my vehicle up the next day and before I got home, the check engine light was back on, and the engine knocking. I no longer drive my car because my daughter is scared in it, and I have lost confidence that we aren't going to end up on the side of the road somewhere. The engine jumps as if the car is going to either take off or shut down completely. Asked the representative at Hall if I should bring the car back, but never received a response. The car and it has less than 100K miles on it. I've done the required maintenance. I like Hyundai cars, but will most likely switch brands because I can't get any help to repair a vehicle I've had for less than two years. I've paid rental car/maintenance fees that equal at least 8 car payments. The recall said repair or replace, and at this point, I feel a replacement is necessary.
My vehicle was not on the recall list and very much should have been. When I am at a complete stop and hit the gas pedal the vehicle rev up and hardly moves and then all of a sudden it will kick in and go... This is a BIG Safety Issue especially when you are at a light and or getting ready to turn or head into on coming traffic. Someone could die or get seriously injured. This is a HUGH Safety concern Still! I cannot repeat it enough. Its a very scary situation. Also when I am at a light or in traffic and start to slow down and just slowly go, the vehicle starts to shutter, like you can hear the dashboard/ front end shake. My Vehicle only has 56,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the vehicle would fail to accelerate upon the depression of the accelerator pedal as the oil pressure warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer however, the dealer denied that there was a failure with her vehicle. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed a failure within the engine and linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

The doors will not open from the inside or the outside. They were working in the morning and later that afternoon with a child in the rear the rear door would not open. Dealer replaced actuator on that door but this is a common occurrence if you look on the internet. If there was a car accident or emergency children would be stuck in the back seat.
2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 21V-727. THE CONSUMER STATED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM FAILED AFTER HAVING THE RECALL REPAIR COMPLETED. THE CONSUMER SET ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED.
The vehicle started to having loss of power problem when reaching around at the speed of 60mph in highway. Due to this problem, the acceleration suddenly dropped sometime and i was not able to keep up with the flowing highway traffic and this highly risked my vehicle from being hit by the behind vehicle. This has put mine and other drivers safety at higher risk. Later after few weeks the engine warning light popped up on my dashboard. I checked my vehicle VIN in NHTSA website and found my vehicle have a recall related to the engine failure so took my vehicle to the nearest dealership but they also showed fault on something else and asked around $4000 to fix it all. I could not do it due to higher cost but they took $200 for diagnostic fees. They did not fix my recall too.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle also hesitated during acceleration. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the coils were replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated the tire pressure was low. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed over a railroad track, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. There was an unknown green light on the instrument panel. Additionally, the contact stated the gear shifter would inadvertently move without driver input. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and air was added to the tire however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,484.

A couple of months ago, my car came to an abrupt stop in the middle of the freeway, Had I not been close to the shoulder, I could have been crushed to death. I was shortly notified through mail that my particular car year and model had several factory safety recalls and to take into service immediately. I booked immediately and their first available spot was January 3rd, 2022. The car was kept for couple of days and I picked it up on the 6th. I was told by the service advisor at Hyundai Van Nuys that everything was taken care of. Today, just 4 days later my car comes to a near halt yet again in the middle of the freeway, this time with my 9 month old baby in the car seat. The hood of my vehicle was smoking.
The driver side door suddenly will not open with the key fob or the key. There is no damage to my door and I have kept it well maintained. I feel this is a faulty issue that Hyundai should repair because it is not fault of my own.
This vehicle is lagging or hesitating when shifting in the lower gears while driving. The vehicle hesitates to accelerate and the RPMs raise to approx. 3000-3500 before shifting into the next gear. This is especially dangerous when turning from an intersection. The vehicle does not malfunction like this every time. There does not seem to be a pattern with when or why the vehicle does this, it is kind of random.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine). The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer installed a software update containing a new Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS). The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,800.

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact called an independent mechanic who informed her that the knocking sound needed to be addressed immediately and referred her to a dealer for assistance. Before calling the dealer, the contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V727000 (Engine) which she linked to the failure. The contact then called the dealer and was informed that the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The contact also contacted Huntington Hyundai (1221 E Jericho Turnpike, Huntington, NY 11743) and was informed that since she did not purchase the vehicle from the dealer, they could not service her vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000. Parts distribution disconnect. (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS

My vehicle had an engine failure. I was driving the Vehicle and suddenly the oil pressure light came on, loud noises came from the engine rapidly came after the oil pressure light, and the car stalled out within a minute of the oil pressure light coming on. Judging by the sounds, I believe there was a catastrophic engine failure. This situation appears to be exactly as described in NHTSA Recall # 21V727000. Since this recall was issued, Hyundai has not provided any notice to people that such a major safety issue had potential to occur. The vehicle has been towed to a Hyundai Dealership. However, neither the Hyundai dealership nor Hyundai can provide any meaningful communication other than they would begin their inspection of the vehicle in as soon as one month from when they vehicle was placed in their possession, however, given the exact circumstance described in NHTSA Recall # 21V727000 is what took placed, I find it difficult to believe that any other situation could have lead to this engine failure for a vehicle that is just approaching 50,000 miles
Purchased my 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6 Turbo SUV in mid-July 2021 from CarMAX. Brought it into their service department because it seemed like the battery was dying due to the car not wanting to start/turn over, or turning over veeeerrrry slowly, while holding down the push-button start. CarMAX replaced the battery and checked over the acceleration issues I also reported. At that time (July), the vehicle had also randomly opened it's trunk, with no outside communication to do so. At first I thought it was a fluke, but it's been happening so often lately (now October 2021) that now my husband is constantly checking to make sure the trunk is closed-because the key fobs will be hanging up/away from people/out of pockets but the trunk will still open randomly. TODAY, 25OCT2021, I got a phone call from my husband while I'm at work-telling me that while he was driving our son to work, the trunk decided to RANDOMLY OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, spilling all the contents of my trunk out onto the highway!! This is clearly some kind of electrical issue, that I see other Hyundai owners have been experiencing since AT LEAST 2011-and not all Tucsons, either! When calling around to various mechanics (because the car is, of course, out of warranty), its going to be at least $150 to diagnose the problem (not including FIXING it), and I have to either sit and wait all day for the fix to be done (IF it can be fixed same day!) and be without my only vehicle. This seems to be a recurring issue with Hyundai vehicles, which is quite sad, because I've owned Hyundais before and they were WONDERFUL cars. I would hate to have reached the end of my relationship with Hyundai after seeing all the ELECTRICAL issues that seem to be popping up everywhere, causing fires, causing people's cars to randomly STOP and/or TURN OFF in traffic (have had that happen also, with a Toyota), vehicle FIRES, lights burning so hot they melt their housings, etc. THESE ARE *ALL* ELECTRICAL/WIRING HARNESS RELATED!
My back passenger door won't open from the inside. The door appears to be unlocked, but it doesn't open. I recently received notice that Hyundai has issued a warranty extension for the door latch on this model, so it's a known issue that's obviously quite common. It seems to me that a widespread door latch malfunction is a safety issue that would be better addressed with a recall. I appreciate that my current problem will be covered under warranty. But stories shared online from other owners would lead me to believe that my other doors are likely to fail as well, and the extended warranty is only good until 100,000 miles. That may sound generous, but if they know their door latch is faulty, they should be required to replace all 4 doors with a latch that's not likely to fail.
I bought this car as a certified pre-owned vehicle 5 weeks before this incident occured... While driving on a highway with a full load in the trunk, several warning lights progressively came on: traction control, downhill assist, oil and emergency brake. I continued to my destination (airport parking garage) as there was nowhere safe to pull off. As I approached the airport, an additional large red triangle illuminated in the center of the dashboard saying "check ----" (4 letters, I don't remember what they were). I stopped to get my parking ticket, and the car rolled backward as I tried to begin moving. I gunned the engine, and was able to get to a parking spot, but felt the car had very little power. On my return approximately 36 hours later the oil light was still on; so it was towed to the nearest Hyundai dealer. The tow truck driver commented on it having low power as he tried to drive it onto the tow truck ramp. This Hyundai dealer was unable to find anything wrong. I drove it to the dealer from whom I had bought the car; they tried to recreate the situation where this occurred, and said they were unable to do so. I am concerned as this problem has not been diagnosed or repaired, and did cause a partial loss of power, which could have caused an accident. My dealer has traded me out of this vehicle into another car, as I no longer felt safe in this one.
When accelerating from a stop, the vehicle "chugs" or hesitated substantially before actually accelerating. There is usually a noticeable jerk at that point as well. Concern is this usually happens when turning and has caused safety issues related being stuck in an intersection until the transmission releases and allows the vehicle to accelerate. Several trips to the dealership have provided no repair/relief to the issue. We are always informed its a known issue with the double-clutch engine and just something we need to get used to. Most recently, the transmission is "slipping" when accelerated. This has happened at minimum 5 times in the past month.
The Turbo is going out which causes the vehicle not to accelerate. The repair shop also mentioned if the Turbo goes out completely it will cause engine damage.
I own a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. While trying to get my elderly Grandmother out of the backseat to her appointment the rear drivers side door failed and would not open. After multiple attempts trying to open from outside and inside my ninety year old Grandmother had to maneuver herself to get out of the other door. This is a safety issue and Hyundai needs to address it. I have spoke with multiple Hyundai owners whom have experienced the same problem. What if there was an emergency/fire and no access to an available door??? I’m unsure if my service warranty will cover it, I’m scheduled to have it replaced but of course Hyundai is out weeks for appointments. With growing concern and thousands with the same problem this needs to be addressed immediately!
We had a recent onset of issues with our 2017 Tucson Limited Ultimate that is alarming and potentially dangerous. I am most concerned with the safety of my wife and child as this is her primary vehicle. We have a new issue, relating to the door locks - that I would like to address, but would like to give the recent history or events before I get to that. We recently addressed a recall relating to a brake module - a potential fire hazard, as well as failed Turbo that caused a sudden loss of power at a critical time. This could have been a potential wreck, but thankfully it was avoided. Now we are at another safety issue that needs to be addressed with the door locks. This is concerning, inconvenient, and most likely not covered as a recall as it should be. Around 6 months ago there was a sudden power loss and whistling sound from the engine compartment. This happened while entering a turn in a busy intersection, which could have caused an accident. I took it to the dealer, and the problem was diagnosed as a faulty Turbo Charger and required order and replacement. Luckily this was covered on the warranty. The problem was resolved. Then I received a notification of a recall for the Brake Control Module because of the potential of fire in the engine compartment. I scheduled an appointment at my local dealer and had that replaced at no additional cost to me. My local dealership was about to resolve this issue as well. Today, I went to take my daughter to school and the rear passenger door would not open from the outside or the inside. The door lock clicks, but we are not able to exit the vehicle from that side or open the door from the outside. Upon researching on the internet, it's a ongoing issue with the door actuator. https://www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/rear-passenger-door-wont-open.603329/ I scheduled an appointment for Monday, but it is again, a safety issue, and this will not be covered and most likely cost me out of pocket. Can you help?

TRAVELING WITH WIFE AND INFANT WESTBOUND 210 FREEWAY IN PASADENA, CA. AT HIGHWAY SPEED. WIFE AND I HEARD A CONTINUOUS, MUFFLED CLICKING SOUND FOR 20-30 SECONDS. I FELT A SLIGHT LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, AT WHICH POINT, I BEGAN MAKING MY WAY FROM THE HOV LANE TO EXIT. WHILE MOVING OVER, I SAW A PUFF OF LIGHT GRAY SMOKE FROM THE REAR FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY SIMILAR SMOKE AND THEN SOME FLAMES FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE TO NO ENGINE POWER AT THIS TIME AS I CAME TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER, PLACED IT IN PARK AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. AS WE STOPPED, THE FLAMES BECAME MUCH GREATER. WE WERE ALL ABLE TO QUICKLY EXIT AND GET TO A SAFE DISTANCE. AS AN ASIDE, WE HAD ONLY DAYS BEFORE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS VEHICLE FROM HYUNDAI TO ADDRESS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT COULD CAUSE SPONTANEOUS, NON-COLLISION ENGINE FIRES. I HAD NOT HAD OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE IT IN YET.

MY 2017 TUCSON FEELS AS THOUGH IT WILL STALL DURING SLOW SPEEDS, SUCH AS IN A DRIVE WAY, OR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. IT STUTTERS AS THOUGH IT IS A MANUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION WITH AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. IN ADDITION, WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP SIGN, THE CAR OFTEN DOES NOT RESPOND APPROPRIATELY TO ACCELERATION AND WILL NOT MOVE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE REVS AT A HIGHER RPM. I HAVE HAD MANY CLOSE CALLS WHEN TURNING RIGHT ONTO A BUSY STREET AND MY CAR DOES NOT RESPOND CREATING A HAZARD AS I ROLL SLOWLY INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT RECREATE THE COMPLAINT DURING A TEST DRIVE AND THAT THE STUTTERING IS DUE TO THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION AND THAT IS IS SUPPOSED TO PERFORM THIS WAY. THE LAST TIME I TOOK IT IN (JULY 2019), I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE, BUT THIS DID NOT IMPROVE THE PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. VEHICLE FREQUENTLY, INTERMITTENTLY, STALLS DURING TAKE OFF FROM A STOP. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT VEHICLE WILL SIMPLY ROLL AS IF IT IS FREELY ROLLING IN NEUTRAL BUT IS NOT RECEIVING ANY POWER OR ACCELERATION FROM THE ENGINE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 5 SECONDS BEFORE ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN ENGAUGES AND VEHICLE ACCELERATES. THIS CREATES AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU HAVE THE VEHICLE IN AN INTERSECTION AND ACCELERATE TO MAKE A LEFT TURN IN A GAP IN TRAFFIC AND END STUCK IN THE INTERSECTION OR IN FRONT OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS ONLY ROLLING AND NOT ACCELERATING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO HYUNDAI USA CORPORATE WHO HAS CHOSEN NOT OFFER ANY REMEDY AND HAS IT STATED TO ME THIS IS A "CHARACTERISTIC OF MY VEHICLE.". HYUNDAI USA HAS CONTINUALLY REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. HYUNDAI USA HAS EVEN PLACE THE BLAME FOR THIS ISSUE ON THE DEALERSHIP. THIS IDENTICAL ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED AND ISSUED AS A RECALL IN PRIOR MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE, YET HYUNDAI REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ON THIS MODEL

I LEASED THIS CAR LESS THAN A YEAR AGO AND IT WAS DRIVING FINE IN THE BEGINNING. NOW IT HESITATES GO AFTER I STOP. I ALMOST GOT KILLED MAKING A LEFT TURN INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC WHICH I HAVE TO DO EVERY SINGLE DAY LEAVING WORK AND THE CAR DOESNT CHANGE GEARS RIGHT AWAY. IT TAKES 3-25 SECONDS TO ACCELERATE. IT IS SUPER DANGEROUS I AM AFRAID I MIGHT GET KILLED LEAVING MY JOB ONE DAY. IT DOES THE SAME THING WHEN ACCELATING FROM A LIGHT. IT ALSO VIBRATES WHILE IM DRIVING. HYUNDAI WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND IM REALLY SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR THAT I PAY A LOT OF MONEY FOR EVERY MONTH. IT DRIVES LIKE A 15 YR OLD CAR ALL OF A SUDDEN AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT SINCE IM IN THIS LEASE FOR ANOTHER 2 YEARS AND SOME CHANGE. IT ALSO JERKS AFTER TAKING OFF. IT IS VERY HAZARDOUS WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN IF I DONT LEAVE ENOUGH TIME I WILL GET HIT BY A CAR.
MY CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I ONLY HAD IT LESS THAN A MONTH (NEW). I TRIED TO REMOTE START IT & IT WOULDNT WORK. I WENT OUTSIDE TO START IT & IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER, ALL LIGHTS ON DASH WERE LIT UP. I LIFTED MY HOOD- A SQUIRREL NEST WAS BUILT UNDER HOOD. WIRING HARNESS CHEWED UP, INSULATION UNDER MY HOOD RIPPED OFF, NUMEROUS AREAS OF HARD PLASTIC COVERING MY HEADLIGHT UNDER HOOD AND ALONG INSIDE FRAME OF CAR ALL CHEWED UP. ALL THINGS CHEWED WERE MADE OF SOY BASED MATERIALS.I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC, NOT HYUNDAI DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS (3X) W/MY HONDA 2014 CRV THAT'S WHY I GOT RID OF IT. I WAS TOLD BY BOTH HONDA & HYUNDAI "ITS NOT COVERED, IT'S NOT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, IT'S CAUSED BY OUTSIDE CIRCUMSTANCES/ RODENTS. USE YOUR AUTO INSURANCE". THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT BECAUSE THEY USE SOY WHICH ATTRACTS THESE RODENTS. SOY WIRING HARNESSES SHOULD BE BANNED AND RECALLS INSTITUTED TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BY EITHER REPLACING THE HARNESSES WITH STANDARD SYNTHETIC NON-EDIBLE POLYMERS AS APPROPRIATE TO THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION, OR PROVIDING COATINGS THAT PROVABLY PREVENT RODENTS FROM CONSUMING THE INSULATION OVER THE LIFESPAN OF THE VEHICLE. I CAN'T EVEN PARK IN MY OWN DRIVEWAY FOR FEAR OF MORE DAMAGE THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR DUE TO THE USE OF SOY. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET CAUSED BY SOY USED BY VARIOUS CAR MAKERS. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ASAP.

WHEN YOU GO TO PASS OR INCREASE SPEED THE RPM'S GO UP BUT NO ACCELERATION, EVEN AT LOW SPEED YOU HAVE NO ACCELERATION. I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE TOOK CAR TO DEALER TWICE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THIS. IT HAPPENED THE THIRD TIME AND WE TOOK IT TO DEALER AND WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING TO DEALERSHIP IT HAPPENED AGAIN. IT HAS HAPPENED ON INTERSTATE AND LOCAL TOWN ROADS. WE JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2017. SO NOW FOUR TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE!!!!!

THERE IS A CONSTANT SHAKING AND VIBRATION IN THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE STABILITY TRACTION OR WHAT MOSTLY HAPPENS AT ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN I WENT TO TEST DRIVE A SECOND 2007 HYUNDAI TUCSON NIGHT VERSION IT FRONT END WAS EVEN MORE SHAKY

WHEN TAKING CORNERS THE CAR JUST REVS BUT I CANNOT ACCELERATE. I HAVE TO MOVE OVER TO LET CARS PASS. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT TWICE OVER THIS ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. ALSO AT A COMPLETE STOP THE ENGINE WILL NOT ACCELERATE JUST REV FOR ABOUT 15-30 SECONDS. HYUNDAI TELLS ME JUST LEARN HOW TO DRIVE.

VEHICLE HAS LESS 500 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD 2 OCCURRENCES WHEN SLOWING DOWN FROM A MAIN ROAD, FROM AROUND 35'40 MPH, TO TURN A CORNER AND DURING THE TURN THERE WAS COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION.

DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE SUV HAS STALLED OR HESITATED WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, RPM GO UP BUT NOT THE SPEED . ONCE ON I-20 AND OTHER TIMES IN THE CITY, IN MOTION AS WELL AS TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE HYUNDAI SERVICE DEPT. FEAR OF GETTING HIT BY OTHER DRIVERS .

HESITATION ON ACCELERATION, DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THE 2016 TUCSON. MY VEHICLE IS A 2017 TUCSON SE PLUS, THE PROBLEMS ARE THE SAME AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTS REGARDING THE 2016 MODEL. THE EXISTING RECALL NEEDS TO BE BROADENED TO INCLUDE 2017'S. PLUS, I UNDERSTAND THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE UPGRADE DOES NOT GUARANTEE A PERMANENT REPAIR. VERY DANGEROUS. MY CAR WAS PURCHASED IN MAY OF 2017 AND HAS LESS THAN 1300 MILES. THE PROBLEM WAS FIRST DISCOVERED TODAY WHILE DOING DAILY ERRANDS.

THE ENGINE HESITATES, JUMPS, ALMOST STALLS OR REVS LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHEN YOU ARE STARTING FROM A STOPPING POSITION OR AT LOWER SPEEDS (LESS THAN 45 MPH). THERE HAVE BEEN VERY SCARY SITUATIONS WHERE PULLING OUT FROM A STOP SIGNS WITH ADEQUATE TIME WITH ANY OTHER CAR EXCEPT FOR THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S GOING TO BE THE TIME IT HESITATES OR WON'T ACCELERATE WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. WE PURCHASED A 2017 TUSCON LIMITED AWD WITH A DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. SINCE WE'VE HAD THIS SUV IT HAS THIS PROBLEM. I HAD MENTIONED IT TO THE DEALER AND I FINALLY TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT. FROM A STOP ESPECIALLY ON A HILL AND TURNING THE SUV HESITATES THEN KICKS IN AND HESITATES AGAIN, SENDING ME FORWARD IN MY SEAT. I HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP THE VEHICLE HESITATES SO BADLY I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO BE HIT. BOTTOM LINE I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE. I TOOK THE TUSCON BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY IT'S EXPECTED BEHAVIOR FOR THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THEIR ADVICE IS TO DRIVE IN SPORTS MODE ALL OF THE TIME AND NOT IN THE ECONO MODE. ECONO IS THE DEFAULT MODE AND (IS USED TO SAVE ON GAS) NOT SPORT SO I HAVE TO MAKE SURE I TURN IT ON EVERY TIME I START THE CAR AND THERE IS NO WAY TO DEFAULT IT TO SPORTS. MY QUESTION IS WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DRIVE IN SPORTS MODE TO FEEL SAFER. I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW AND HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE WE PURCHASED IT. I'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION, I'VE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS WITH THE 2017 AS WELL.

AFTER STOPPING THE VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL, SEVERE LAG. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN 3 ACCIDENTS IN 2 WEEKS, I AM ON BLOOD THINNERS SO THIS PRESENTS A LIFE THREATENING ISSUE FOR ME, I AM PURSUING ALL COMPLAINT OPTIONS AND LOOKING FOR A FULL REFUND. THE CAR IS ONLY 2.5 WEEKS OLD AND HAS LESS THAN 100 MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT SO YOU CAN NEVER BE SURE WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
