severe oil consumption. the vehicle eats the oil at an alarming rate. having to fill the oil tank very often and the engine light has been on. it is affecting acceleration at 30mph where the engine warning light will flash. It also completely dies while driving. very unsafe and needs to be resolved.

Issue was first noticed in October 2025 - there are roughly 70k miles on the vehicle. It is a 2017 vehicle, and has regular service (oil, inspection). There was a class action lawsuit for this issue (wylie v hyundai), which was settled prior to the purchase of the vehicle. Vehicle stutters when shifting into and out of first gear. A local mechanic and hyundai both confirmed that it was a transmission defect. The Hyundai dealership initially thought it was an actuator issue, but has since said that it is a faulty gear assembly. it has a DCT (dual clutch transmission). Vehicle suddenly stops and is erratic when driving. Coming out of a stop risks the vehicle shuddering; going through an intersection or turning cross traffic is extremely dangerous as the vehicle could stop momentarily and cause a collision. Vehicle is unable to maintain flow of traffic. The problem appears to be widespread - there are various forums we found where others have this same issue. There were no warnings on the dashboard prior to the issue. When issue appeared a check engine light was displayed.

- Kept regular 5K-6K oil changes since 2022 when I purchased the vehicle -Took the vehicle to a Hyundai dealership, multiple times, to ask about the engine stalling at a stop or slow turn, and/or jerking. -July '25 new oil change and flushed engine -October'25- no engine or oil lights. Engine seized and needs to be replaced. - VIN didn't populate recall but the symptoms are the same

My car has been burning oil for over a year. there is no leak. I have been putting three quarts in every 4 to 6 weeks. I have now replaced two coil packs and the spark plugs. my engine light is on because it said 3 and 4 was misfiring so i recently replaced those coil packs and now it said spark plug and i replaced it again as well. so the engine light coming on and what it says the problem is is wrong. now when i push the gas it is knocking or missing. not sure how to describe it. no one has looked at it other than a friend that is a mechanic and he says its probably the engine because this kind of car has these problems.

All of the lights on the dashboard and check engines light were illuminated. The speedometer would not work and the stick shift would stick in park causing me to have to release the shift lock manually to drive. The failure mileage was 59,450.

Yes, the issue has been confirmed by a local dealership, where they noted the jerking during acceleration and the high oil consumption. Yes, the vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, but it has not been inspected by the manufacturer or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the incidents. The symptoms first appeared approximately 8 months ago and is ongoing.

My car has been having engine problems causing it to stall while driving. It won’t go past 20miles per hour even if I press on the gas FULLY. This has been happening on and off for a couple of months now. It also burns thru my oil change in less than a week. I took my Hyundai into the dealer multiple times because of the way it drove since 2019 and they always sent me away saying that it was normal. But this car has been a constant stress in my life. Driving it has felt dangerous. Something is definitely WRONG with it and I’m not sure why this recall on the engine now powering up hasn’t hit yet. Death trap of a car.

Engine check light came on on 1/4/24 took it to dealership they ran a quick check and they said it had multiple misfires. The car has a lot of carbon buildup and they recommend a 24 hour cleaning which will cost me over $700.00. The car stalls and starts shaking as I speed up. I don't feel that a care with less than 70,000 miles should have this problem. Mine also has now been using up the oil very quickly.

The vacuum pump on my 2017 hyundai has a faulty cap resulting in an electrical error to the CAN system. This causes dash lights abs 4wd parking break stability control tpms sensor check engine light to eliminate and the speedometer to not work. All of the systems are not opperating due to the system not being able to communicate. It is illegal and a safety issue to not be able to use the speedometer.

Engine stalled in the middle of the highway. Could not get speed over 30mph to get out of the way of oncoming traffic even with the gas peddle pushed to the floor. Engine light flashing. Finally was able to get over to the side of the road with care bucking and jerking the whole way and stuttered to a stop.

I am not a mechanic but when I drive my vehicle, I feel like it doesn't have enough amps to move it along like it's missing something. I have pressed on the accelerator and heard a "winding noise" like the little engine that could but wants to. This is a horrible car!!! I have only had this vehicle for a month and it's a nightmare to drive. It sometimes does not accelerate, and the take-off is unbearable gives me the impression I will be rear ended one day. It even jerks and sputters, even the "rpm" feature shows high acceleration at inopportune times. I had a diagnostic performed and was told the plugs and ignition coils needed to be changed so I did that to the tune of $400 for the parts, and now not even a week later I am being told I need to change them again. How can this situation be rectified? I don't have another $400 every month in addition to the payment and insurance to replace those things every month. I want to know if you all have a fix for this to prevent all this unnecessary money from being spent. I am aware that a tune up is necessary but every month. Please tell me how this can be fixed thank you.

The vehicle was serviced not long after I got it as a certified pre-owned vehicle for reprogramming of the transmission, which I told it was a just a reprogramming to make it more reactive. The vehicle would fail to accelerate, or have delayed acceleration. I was not aware at the time that these vehicles were known to have faulty transmissions and if I known this at purchase I would have spent my money on a more reliable vehicle. The vehicles transmission is having issues again, not reversing, not accelerating, etc. The Hyundai dealership I got it from told me that they won't even get me into the dealership for a diagnostic until January 6th,,, which is a huge safety issue. Furthermore, apparently Hyundai is well away of the fact that they have allowed Hyundai owners to drive vehicles with faulty transmission and will not help with extended the warranty on their vehicles. I am 477 miles over 100,00. It seems as though they do not even want to help with repairs, even if they are out of pocket.

The check engine light started flashing and the vehicle would not go over 25 miles per hour. Thankfully I was pulling into a parking lot when the reduction in speed occurred. If this had happened on the interstate (which I commute on regularly) it could have been extremely dangerous. Hyundai dealership never returned my calls about service, I had the vehicle towed to another service provider (Jensen Tire & Auto) who performed a diagnostic which showed codes P0300/0302/1326/0011. They also said the engine was 2 quarts low on oil and there was no sign of an oil leak. The vehicle mileage was at 74344. I had oil changed at 71579 miles with full synthetic, and at 66230 miles prior to that. There is no sign of oil leak where I park the car. I regularly change my oil and service my car according to the manufacturer recommendation (just not at the dealership). This problem is not on the recall list for this vehicle, yet there are several instances of this posted in online forums. This problem is not due to lack of proper care, but to a dangerous defect in the Tuscon 2017 engine that misuses oil and causes a sudden an unexpected decrease in acceleration.

Car has been hesitating to start this last week, Friday 6/2/23 warning lights came on & air conditioning stopped working. My local Hyundai shop is booked 2 weeks out so I already have an appt for 6/13/23. But on 6/2 I barely made it to a shop close to my home for a diagnostic check. Code P1111 was stored, cleared & retested. It's for fuel pump, circuit was tested & no faults were found & test driven with no return of code. Picked up car on Monday 6/5 with no issues. Tuesday car hesitated to start, 3rd time it started with no issue & no warning light/s. Today 6/7 around noon while I was making a turn the car completely shut off without warning. I've also noted that the oil level is always low, I have to check & put in oil at least every 2 weeks but there doesn't seem to be an oil leak. Also from stop to go at a light for example the car hesitates and then jerks forward. In the past I was told at a Hyundai facility that this is normal because of the dual clutch or something to that fact. The incident today was scary as there were a lot of cars behind me and cars coming towards me. The attached pic of warning lights was from Friday, 6/2/23.

I had recently just had gotten and oil change less than 2 months ago, I had to take my car back to the dealership because it was taking a while for the car to pick up speed. Once I took it into the dealership they told me my engine needs to be replaced. I know someone else that I know that has a hyundai as well and their engine completely gave out as well. What's going on with the engines. My car doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it yet, there's no way my engine should've gave out.

I took the vehicle in for a recall for unrelated issues to this problem at 90,000 miles (July 6 2022). The technician noted that the vehicle was leaking oil and it needed an oil pan reseal. I brought the vehicle back for this service on March 6 2023. Between the initial recall service and this service, I noticed that the vehicle was consuming a significant amount of oil, beyond regular consumption. On several occasions, after about 1000 miles after the oil was changed, I was adding 2-3 quarts of oil to the vehicle. Moreover, when the oil was changed, the technician who changed the oil, noted that the oil was very dirty despite only going 3000-4000 miles between oil changes. I mentioned this to the Lehigh Valley Hyundai Service Desk and that it was highly unlikely that an oil pan reseal would resolve this. They ordered an oil consumption test and instructed me to drive the vehicle for 1000 miles. I did this and brought the vehicle back in to Lehigh Valley Hyundai on April 1, 2023. They checked the oil, the technician ordered an oil combustion cleaning, and instructed me to drive the vehicle an additional 1000 miles before bringing it back in for the oil combustion test. During this period, I noticed that the vehicle lost a significant amount of power. During a drive back from Widener University, I barely had enough power to drive up hills on the Northeast Extension and almost got into two wrecks due to the lack of power. I took the vehicle back to Hyundai on April 8, 2023 and notified them of this issue. They checked the vehicle out and notified me that the catalytic converter was clogged and needed to be replaced. They gave me a quote of $4000 to complete this service. This service was extraordinarily high priced compared to other mechanic services which cost between $2000-2500. I checked with other services and they indicated that they did not have access to the part and only Hyundai had access to the catalytic converter.

It's like the transmission has hesitation before it decides to go. I step on the gas and it doesn't go right away, it takes a couple seconds and then the rpms go up really high. There has been no accident but this has happened many times.

the car was unresponsiveness when pushing the gas pedal, delay when accelerating, shaking, and the gears do not seem to change. this causes problems when trying to merge into traffic, make turns and anytime when acceleration is needed. We took it to the dealership said we needed a Dual Clutch kit however the vin does not have a recall therefore want to charge $2264.00. to fix the problem. it is obviously a manufacture defect. the car has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. this problem has been going on for 6 months.

The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while reversing out of the driveway, the vehicle failed to accelerate despite depressing the accelerator pedal numerous times. The contact then firmly depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle experienced an unintended acceleration at approximately 35 MPH. The vehicle drove into the neighbor's yard and crashed into the neighbor's house. No air bags were deployed. No injuries were sustained, and medical attention was not received. A police report was not filed. The contact was able to drive away from the scene. The insurance company had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic for inspection. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

I was driving to work after dropping my son off and I took a right turn onto a street and my car slowed down and the check engine light came on, flashing. I continued to drive to work as I was one minute away and needed to get off the street asap. (where I turned had no room for pulling over). I parked my car. I had a prenatal appointment to go to, so I started my car. No check engine light when started until I got on the on ramp to the mass pike, my car went from 50 to 35 in a matter of minutes. I went into the breakdown lane until the next exit which was only a mile or so. I pulled into a gas station and called my husband to come get me as I still had an appointment to go to. After my appointment we retuned to my car and had it towed to the dealership as it is not safe to drive while pregnant. They told me it may be an engine issue and they will try to expedite my car. What annoys me is that this happened before and they claimed it was because I was over my oil change mileage and deemed it my fault and made me pay almost 300 for them to fix it. Yet I feel as if that just bought my engine time before it actually failed. This also happened with my 2015 Sonata Sport back in like 2018/2019 before someone rear ended me and totaled me. But what is my luck that this happens with 2 of my Hyundai. It is very frustrating.

The acceleration completely stopped, while driving in the third lane, northbound on the 15 freeway in the cajon pass. The dealership informed me the transmission is the cause. The car is still with the service department now. No warning lights. No check engine lights, nothing. The power in the car remained on the car acted as if it was in neutral.

Hello. I recently took my car to the authorized mechanic and had them check on an issue I am experiencing. For some reason, my car frequently hesitates when I go from a complete stop/slow roll to accelerate. For example, if I am stopped waiting to turn, often when I push the gas to accelerate, the car will begin to accelerate and then basically stop. When this has happened, I've pushed my foot down to the floor on the pedal before to make it go and it refused to go for about 20 or so seconds. Additionally, if I am in slow moving traffic and traffic begins to speed up, my car will hesitate to go forward when I try to accelerate. This is a huge safety concern. The mechanic was not able to replicate this issue, but it happens every day or every other day. It makes me scared to drive because it's almost caused accidents. I read I'm not the only one with this issue and honestly, it's a miracle no one has died yet as a result of this faulty issue.

When accelerating from a stop, the vehicle "chugs" or hesitated substantially before actually accelerating. There is usually a noticeable jerk at that point as well. Concern is this usually happens when turning and has caused safety issues related being stuck in an intersection until the transmission releases and allows the vehicle to accelerate. Several trips to the dealership have provided no repair/relief to the issue. We are always informed its a known issue with the double-clutch engine and just something we need to get used to. Most recently, the transmission is "slipping" when accelerated. This has happened at minimum 5 times in the past month.

When accelerating from a full stop or yield, vehicle takes up to 3 seconds to fully respond to pedal. Vehicle will move about 5ft forward during this 3 second lag time. After the lag time, the vehicle jerks into motion. Very dangerous to turn onto a busy road with 35mph speed limit.

ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS THIS VEHICLE HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE RPMS RISE BUT IT TAKES ROUGHLY 2-3 SECONDS TO ENGAGE. I FEEL THIS IS VERY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKE IT TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE WITH NO HELP. THE 2016 MODEL WAS RECALLED FOR EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED AND I BELIEVE THE 2017 MODEL SHOULD BE AS WELL.

THERE HAVE BEEN COUNTLESS TIMES, THAT OUR 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON HAS HAD TROUBLE ACCELERATING IN LOW GEAR, WHETHER COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT AND THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE OR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW SPEED (5-10MPH). MOST OFTEN TIMES, WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDDLE TO ACCELERATE IT IS VERY DELAYED, ALMOST NO ACCELERATION RESPONSE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS, AND THEN IT IS VERY JERKY GETTING INTO GEAR AT THAT POINT. I FINALLY HAD ENOUGH OF THIS WHEN MY WIFE AND I CAME EXTREMELY CLOSE TO GETTING REAR ENDED (THE VEHICLE BEHIND US CAME SCREECHING TO A HALT) AS THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION RESPONSE WHEN I PULLED ONTO A 50MPH ROAD AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. THE 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THIS ACCELERATION ISSUE IS FIXED. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND SEEN THOUSANDS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE FOR THIS SAME EXACT CAR. FURTHER, HYUNDAI HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON THE 2016 MODEL, BUT THEY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE FOR THE 2017'S. I IMPLORE THE NHTSA AND HYUNDAI TO MAKE THIS A RECALL! WE BOUGHT OUR HYUNDAI TUCSON IN SEPTEMBER 2018 AND WITHIN WEEKS, WE STARTED NOTICING PROBLEMS WITH ERRATIC ACCELERATION AND INCONSISTENT RESPONSE OF GAS PEDAL. WE HAVE GOTTEN THE CAR EVALUATED NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT NOTHING WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE CAUSING THIS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT KEPT SAYING THAT THERE ARE SOME KNOWN PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION THAT HYUNDAI HASN'T COMMUNICATED A SOLUTION TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEREFORE THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. OFTEN TIMES THE RPM LEVEL SKYROCKETS LEAVING THE CAR WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. OUR 7-SPEED DCT IS HAVING SHIFTING PROBLEMS, HESITATION WITH ACCELERATION, AND NEAR LOSS OF POWER. THE TRANSMISSION PARTICULARLY MISBEHAVES DURING WARMER TEMPERATURES AND CERTAIN DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING, WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD. AND IS A DANGER TO EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CLAIMS THAT HYUNDAI HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION AND CONTROL MODULE PROBLEMS BUT IS NOT ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WE WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THE VEHICLES IF WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE ALLEGED TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WE HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF LEFT TURNS ON LARGE CITY STREETS, ALMOST GETTING HIT, BECAUSE NOBODY WAS ANTICIPATING THE SUDDEN NON RESPONSE OF THE GAS PEDAL. SOMETHING IS MAJORLY WRONG WITH HOW THIS VEHICLE SHIFTS GEARS. WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN, OR DON'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T DOWN SHIFT PROPERLY, CAUSING A TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE AND AN OVER REVVING OF THE ENGINE, WHICH RESULTS IN A DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, I HAVE TRIED TO TURN ONTO A STREET OR HIGHWAY AND NEARLY BEEN REAR ENDED OR T-BONED BECAUSE OF MY VEHICLE STALLING FOR NO REASON, LEAVING ME FLOUNDERING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET UNTIL THE VEHICLE DECIDED TO SHIFT PROPERLY AND RESUME ACCELERATION. THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED, FOR IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THAT HAPPENS, PROVIDED IT HASN'T ALREADY OCCURRED. I HAVE OWNED MY 2017 HYUNDAI TUCSON SINCE 10/20/17. IN THE LAST YEAR I HAVE HAD IT AT THE DEALERSHIP 3X FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. TWICE MY VEHICLE HAD PERFORMANCE ISSUES WHILE ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AND ACCELERATION. IT IS LIFE ENDANGERING. WHEN ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE LOSES SPEED. THE RPM GAUGE STARTS GOING WACKY, OFF THE CHARTS. IT WILL REV TO 5 RPM BACK DOWN TO 3 RPM AND BACK & FORTH. WHEN THE FOOT IS ON THE GAS PEDDLE TRYING TO INCREASE TO HIGHWAY SPEED, THE ENGINE WILL GO TO 45 MPH. WHEN ONE A HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 70 MPH, IT BECOMES LIFE THREATENING. WHEN I FINALLY REACHED A SPEED OF 70, IT WOULD GO FOR A SHORT TIME AND THEN DECREASE TO 50 MPH. VERY SCARY. TWICE IT WAS IN SERVICE FOR THE SAME PERFORMANCE ISSUE . THE 2ND TIME THEY REPLACED BOOST SENSOR RANGE. IT WORKS OK NOW. HOWEVER, THE SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION IS HARD AND SEEMS TO SHIFT IMPROPERLY. IT TOO IS TIED TO THE ACCELERATION. HYUNDAI THAT IS THE NATURAL PERFORMANCE ON THE ENGINE & TRANSMISSION. THE LAST CHECK ENGINE WAS AN ALTERNATOR FAILURE. I HAVE OWNED 3 HYUNDAI'S. I HAVE HELPED MY DAUGHTER BUY HER 2 HYUNDAI'S. MY MOTHER AS WELL. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE KIND OF ISSUES. ALSO THE NATURAL HYDRAULIC CLOSING ON THE BACK DOOR IS A REAL SAFETY HAZARD. ONE DAY THE DOOR STARTED CLOSING WHILE MY BODY WAS HALF INSIDE. ANY SUBSEQUENT REQUESTS FOR REPAIR WERE MET WITH "IT WILL COST YOU 150 DOLLARS TO CHECK IT OUT IF IT'S THE SAME SITUATION AS BEFORE WITH NO SOLUTION". THIS CAR IS A DANGER TO US AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. IT ALSO TENDS TO GO INTO SOME SORT OF LEAF BLOWER MODE SOMETIMES WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES, WHERE THE REVS SOAR BUT IT DOESN'T ACT LIKE IT DOWNSHIFTED. THIS IS NOT A MIXUP IN BRAKE/GAS PEDAL USAGE, LIKE THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION PROBLEMS WEVE ALL READ ABOUT WITH OTHER BRANDS. THE DCT HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN AND IS A HAZARD ON THE ROAD. THE PROBLEMS ARE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AND IT CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE, AT RANDOM, HIGHWAY, FREEWAY, PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY... ANYWHERE. PLEASE HELP GET THESE DANGEROUS CARS OFF THE ROAD. NOT SURE WHAT DOCUMENTATION YOU WANT, BUT THE CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY, AND WAS BOUGHT IN AUG 2017. CARS WITH THIS ENGINE/TRANS ARE STILL FOR SALE IN THE SHOWROOMS NATIONWIDE, A KNOWN DANGER TO ALL CONCERNED. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MGR HAS TOLD US HOW THERE ARE A LOT OF UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS OUT THERE WITH 1.6 TURBO/DCT DRIVETRAINS, AND YET THEY ARE SELLING MORE BY THE DAY. I NOTICED THIS VEHICLE STAYS IN 2ND GEAR UNLESS IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP FOR A FULL SECOND. ANYTHING LESS THAN THAT AND THE CAR STAYS IN 2ND GEAR AND THEN LAGS AND STUTTERS WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE BUT A VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T DOWNSHIFT TO 1ST GEAR WHEN BASICALLY STOPPED MIGHT BE AN ISSUE.

I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A LACK OF ACCELERATION NUMEROUS TIMES AS I'M TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALSO AS I TRY TO ACCELERATE FROM A STATIONARY POSITION WAITING FOR A LIGHT AND CHANGING LANES ALSO. THREE MONTHS AGO I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND I TOLD THEM OF THIS PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY WILL CHECK IT. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR I WAS TOLD THAT A RESET WAS DONE TO THE COMPUTER TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE. IT IS STILL HAPPENING. I HAVE BEEN IN CLOSE CALLS NUMEROUS TIMES AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE FOR MYSELF OR OTHERS ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THIS CONDITION. I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO THE DUAL CLUTCH AND THE VEHICLE WAS "OPERATING AS INTENDED". I FIND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT WHEN YOU ARE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT AND STEP ON THE GAS WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGES IT LAGS THEN SURGES INTO THE INTERSECTION. OR, STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND WHEN IT IS TIME TO MOVE FORWARD, LAG AND SURGE ALMOST HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. AS WELL AS MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY AND LAGGING AS TRAFFIC IS COMING AT YOU AT 65 MPH AND YOU ARE LAGGING AND HOPING NOT TO BE HIT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI WANTS THEIR VEHICLES TO BE RUNNING IN THIS MANNER. I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH HYUNDAI CUSTOMER CONNECT AND THEY SEND ME BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I FIRST GOT ON TO YOUR SITE THERE WASN'T AS MANY REPORTS AS THERE ARE TODAY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I DON'T WANT TO BE A STATISTIC. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL HYUNDAI'S OVER THE YEARS BUT NEVER THEIR SUV. I AM KEEPING A RECORD OR EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS.

AFTER BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE, I LEFT THE CAR RUNNING IN MY DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES SINCE THE PURCHASE OF MY VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER FOR THE SAME SIMILAR ISSUES ALL RESULTING FROM THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. THE ISSUES HAVE RANGED AND STARTED WILL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON IN NOVEMBER WHEREAS CAR WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THEY REPLACED A SENSOR. 3 DAYS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN CAUSING LOW POWER THEY REPLACED ENGINE HARNESS. FEBRUARY AGAIN ROUGH IDLE AND CAR DIED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE AT LIGHT AND/OR PARKED CAUSING TO BE RESTARTED SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE BUT USUAL CAUSE IS DUE TO DUAL CLUTCH SO THEY RESET DUAL CLUTCH ADAPTIVE VALVES. MARCH 2ND WHILE SITTING IN A PARKING LOT IN DRIVE I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL RPMS REVED TO 3-4 AND I COULD HEAR THE ENGINE AS IF I WAS DRIVING WHEREAS THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING SIMILAR TO IF THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL. MARCH 5TH AFTER NOT DRIVING THE CAR FOR THE WEEKEND I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN I ACCELERATED AND THE CAR SLOWS DOWN CAUSING CARS BEHIND ME TO SLAM ON BREAKS TO AVOID REAR ENDING ME. NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING THROUGH A RESIDENTIAL AREA GOING AROUND 10 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR JEEVES ME FOWARD AND SLOWS DOWN TO ALMOST A DEAD STOP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK AGAIN WE'RE AGAIN THEY SAID IT CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED AND THEY ALSO STATED THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING DRASTIC SPEEDS OFTEN. ALMOST CAUSING ACCIDENTS. THERE IS NO WAY MYSELF OR ANY OF MY CHILDREN WILL BE DRIVING THIS CAR I AM TERRIFIED OF THIS VEHICLE AND DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO RISK MY FAMILIES LIVES FOR SOMEONE TO REALIZE SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG WITH MY CAR.

VEHICLE STUTTERS/HESITATES ON TAKE-OFF FROM START. SEVERAL NEAR DANGEROUS MISSES CROSSING AND MERGING INTO TRAFFIC LANES. HAVE COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO CORPORATE HYUNDAI TO NO AVAIL. THEY CLAIM ISSUE IS KNOWN AND HAS TO DO WITH IMPROPER OPERATION OF DUAL/DOUBLE CLUTCH TECHNOLOGY. SPOKE ALSO WITH TECHNICIANS WHO INDICATE THEY ARE AWARE OF ISSUE, BUT CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO REMEDY THE DANGERS. DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND HAS BEEN IN AT LEAST THREE NEAR MISS SIDE COLLISIONS AND SEVERAL NEAR STALL OUTS ON MAJOR ROADWAY AND INTERSECTIONS WHILE EITHER TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THE LAST INCIDENT SHE WAS INVOLVED IN HAD THREE FAMILY OCCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE WHO WERE WITNESSES TO THE FAILED ACCELERATION/STALLING/STUTTERING/JERKING ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE AND WERE SHOCKED IT HAD HAPPENED TO SUCH A NEW VEHICLE. I HAVE ALSO HAD THIS VEHICLE IN THE SAME SERVICE SHOP THAT I PURCHASED THE HYUNDAI FROM ON ARAPAHOE ROAD IN CENTENNIAL, COLORADO, UNDER THE NAME OF AUTO NATION HYUNDAI. I HAVE ALSO DRIVEN THE CARE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND CAN SAY IT CAN BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN ESPECIALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC FROM A SIDE ROAD. WE HAVE ATTEMPTED TO WORK WITH HYUNDAI CORPORATE ON THIS ISSUE AND ASKED THEM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK, BUT THEY INDICATED IT DOES NOT MEET THEIR LEMON RULES, NOR HAS IT BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP ENOUGH TIMES TO WARRANT A BUY-BACK. BOTTOM LINE NOW IS THERE'S NOTHING FOR THEM TO REPAIR SINCE THEY'VE INDICATED THEY HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT DO ADMIT THEY ARE FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STILL CHOOSE TO NOTHING TO REMEDY THE DANGERS.

VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A SLOWED OR STOPPED PACE (I.E. STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, MAKING LEFT HAND TURNS). WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED TO GO AGAIN, NOTHING HAPPENS. THEN THE VEHICLE SLOWLY SHIFTS INTO TRAFFIC BEFORE FINALLY ACCELERATING. SCARY STUFF WHEN CARS ARE COMING AT YOU. THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT. THE CAR ALSO IDLES WITH 'JUMPS' OR 'STUDDERS' OCCASIONALLY WITH SIMILAR DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS IS THE SPORT MODEL, 1.6T, AWD. THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN SPORT MODE WHEN INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED.
