Hyundai replaced one defective engine with another.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local dealer for a recall repair; however, after leaving the dealer, while driving approximately 30-40 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to shift into gear. The vehicle sat for two hours before being restarted and slowly driven to the place of employment, and was then driven to the residence. The contact was unable to determine if there were any warning lights illuminated. The contact called the dealer and was provided with information for towing services and a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 176,000.

ABS, EPS, check engine light appeared on dashboard then car’s steering wheel stiffed and car lost power. Vehicle’s hood smells burnt and has fumes come out after driving for 10-20minutes. My safety and my family’s was endangered as this happened while driving on the road. Not at a stop sign or a red traffic light but while driving. The dealer has refused to inspect/address the issue without having me paid close to $2,500.00 for other repairs.
Motor started knocking yesterday 4/8/25 which was immediately followed by multiple dash sensors for oil and battery. As I pulled over to get assistance at a Jiffy Lube, the car stalled and wasn’t drivable but they also confirmed that the car should not be driven for risk of blowing the engine. Will be taking my vehicle in for an evaluation as soon as I am able to get it towed for further inspection and diagnostics.
Spun rod bearings. Noticed that was the issue with play in piston doing a screwdriver test and noticing thru under the oil pan before tear down. Had to pry the bearing off with pliers and hit with a screwdriver to remove. I have plenty of photos and videos
I HAVE A RECALL ON THE HYUNDAI 2015 VELOSTER FOR FOUR YEARS SINCE THE LAWSUIT THAT YOU TOLD HYUNDAI CORP TO PUT LIFETIME WARRANTY ON DEFECTIVE CARS THGEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. MY CAR AGAIN IS BROKE DOWN TO OIL AROUND SPARKPLUGS I WENT THROUGH THE SAME PROBLEM IN OCT 2023 WHICH THEY PUT A GASKET ON IT AND CHARGE ME 505.00 DOLLARS. NOW THEY ARE MAKING IT HARD TO FIND A ENGINE TO REPLACED THE MANUFACTURED DEFECT ENGINE IN IT. DEBRIS IN CRANKSHAFT AND THEN SOLD WHICH CAUSE THE CONNECTING ROD PROBLEM PREMATURE. I NEED MY CAR AND CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER PLEASE HELP ME GET THIS RESOLVE
Spontaneous rod knocking, hindered performance which in tern poor acceleration, which could become a safety risk especially when commuting on a freeway. High risk of motor vehicle accidents or could lead to a fatal incident if left stranded on major roadways and railroad crossings.
my car 2015 Hyundia Veloster has been under recall since 2021 for connecting rod failure in engine and oil leaking around spark plugs that could cause a fire plus what the other recall is. Hyundai Corp refuses to repair my car, it has ksds, oil consumption, refuse to do engine inspection, wanting to charge me for items related to a recall. my car as stated with you before eating oil, poor compression stalls knock loses power i recently had to pay 3200.00 for catalytic converters so i would have a car only to find out it could happen again due to recall number198. i need someone to help me get this resolve. why should have to replace my engine when it under recall and you can't sell your car due to that? i have been fighting Hyundai Corp for two years i had oil around my spark plugs in 2023, black spark plugs 2024
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal knocking sound and smoke coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle then lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to be restarted. An unknown warning light was flashing before the vehicle had lost power; however, there were no warning lights illuminated once the vehicle was restarted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure and had not provided the contact with a specific diagnostic report. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V746000 (Engine), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 44,000.

nothing has been done for the recall engine, Hyundai recall 198 which states damage engine can increase the risk of fire or engine stall increasing the risk of a crash. why is Hyundai selling cars that are recall for engines . as stated before oil consumption, jerks, no compression, going up hills is rough, cabin gets warmer than usual Hyundai Corp told me that the clogged catalytic converters were no cause by engine failure is this correct i have to pay for them. i have the recall for the brakes finally making a appt can you help me my engine is getting worse i'm afraid to drive it.
my car is recall for connecting rod bearing failure hyundai gave us a extended warranty for this 15 years or 150,00 miles plus i have 20 year 200,00 mile warranty too my engine has oil consumption a quart every 2- 3 weeks been in the Hyundai shop October 2023 for oil around spark plugs jerking engine trying to stall i had my car tow they did a tune up charge me for towing and spark plugs said it was part of engine failure. next in 04/24 engine light came on compression has been getting worse over two years car tow was told catalytic converters were clogged which is not covered so there another bill on me which i think at 124 plus mileage was due to engine problems but Hyundai Corp denied this of course. They want me to drive the car until the engine light flashes in middle of nowhere all i want is my recall engine fixed so i will feel safe in my car there was a lawsuit on the connecting rod bearing failure RECENTLY nothing has been done i can't afford another car at my age

I noticed the engine was losing oil constantly and the exhaust was emitting black smoke often, I had to refill the oil about once a month, eventually the car broke down and took it to a Hyundai dealership. They said they needed to perform a leakdown/compression test on the car, and $585 to perform a diagnostic. Then they said the leak down/compression test showed the exhaust valves had broken and they would need to do a long block replacement. Also mentioned they needed to have Hyundai allow them to release that long block as it is part of a recall on other vehicles. Later was told Hyundai did not approve it under the warranty.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle started to decelerate independently, and there was a ticking sound coming from the engine. The contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V746000 (Engine). The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The recall repair was not performed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

This has happened on 4 different occasions. I'm on the highway and my speedometer slams to zero and everything involving the brakes lights up in my dash. The car continues to drive but it's pretty worrisome as I drive 70mph around alot of traffic. I have been able to pull over every time but it's still beyond unacceptable. I've had my Veloster a little under a year and I don't know if the other recall involving the motor being replaced was taken care of. It was a recall associated with my VIN. I have a video of it happening but for some reason I try to upload it on the app and it won't allow me to. It is the proper format.
I was on the highway and looked at my speedometer and the mph was at 0. The abs and the brake light warnings came on and I couldn't accelerate and hardly brake. I pulled to the shoulder immediately. Took a couple hundred feet to finally stop. It was a very scary moment thinking my brakes have gone. I put it in park waited a moment turned it off... waited about 5 mins and it turned over just wanted to get it home

The contact called on behalf of his girlfriend who owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated while his girlfriend was driving approximately 60 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated independently, and the driver pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The vehicle was restarted and driven to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with engine failure. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to an unknown NHTSA Campaign Number related to the engine. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the unknown recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

engine runs too lean had T/B and104898 MAss airflow and O2 sensors replaced less than a year ago still same problem also consuming too much oil,
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the engine temperature increased, and the check engine warning light illuminated before the engine failed and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer who diagnosed that the head gasket was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed and determined that the catalytic converter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact stated that the engine was previously replaced under a Manufacturer Service Campaign. The failure mileage was 129,000.

HVAC system has failed twice, upon inspecting, connections are melted. This is a fire RISK. Fuses constantly blow. Check engine light constantly comes on and after having auto zone diagnose, issues include Power Train System (P2261), anti-lock brake system - Wheel Speed Sensor (all 4) show invalid/No Signal. Constant knocking noise under the engine which related to the Rod bearing recall. This car is a FIRE and SAFETY HAZARD waiting to happen. My outlets barely produce power, my lights flicker constantly, my battery has been replaced multiple times, as well as the HVAC once.
The car I bought in February in a used car lot was, per the salesperson, in excellent condition, had recently done oil changes, and had allegedly no failures. After less than 3k miles, I got stalled on the freeway with a knocking noise; Frank Hyundai mechanics diagnosed it with a CVV oil sensor red flag. I then paid for the repairs after getting denied from both my Hyundai warranty and my extended warranty. This was neglect when I drove that car for just a few months, like a weekend car, less than 3k miles. The car was still stalling on the freeway, shooting smoke, and the check engine light came on. I miraculously made it in one piece to work; however, the car had to be towed back to Frank Hyundai, where, to this day, they still have not been able to repair or precisely diagnose my vehicle, so I have been without my vehicle for almost a month and a half. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one with this problem; I think it's unfair to pay for the past owner's negligence.
I bought this vehicle from a used car lot in February 2023, not 2022, and drove it under 3k miles; when I took it, it had 86k miles, and the check engine light came on. I took it to FRANK HYUNDAI, where, to this day, have not been able to help me; all this time, I, the consumer, had to chase down the repair guy assigned to my car and, only to be vaguely told it was sludge and metal shedding. It might be my misuse or neglect when I had driven the damn thing before even recommended servicing or an oil change was needed. I also called Hyundai Motors corporate, where a case manager suggested a goodwill repair, but nothing had been done. I would appreciate any help NHTSA could provide as there are campaigns on this model car with engine rod failures, and the damn extended warranty should apply to subsequent owners.
Engine blinking and smell burnt while driving, ABS button turn on automatically
Engine had no oil, starting making a knocking noise.
Engine failure outside of normal warranty period. However oil consumption is the cause. Hyundai allows for 1quart of oil loss every 1000 miles. There should be no oil loss. Before I could get an oil consumption test my motor started knocking. The dealership was supposed ask for goodwill assistance but never did. They found no compression in cylinder 4 and stated since it wasn’t a rod bearing failure they would not cover it. Also they are using third party BBB to turn down complaints which should be a violation of the consumers rights. They are paid by Hyundai to reject claims.
99% sure the vehicle’s rod bearing is what is knocking
Rattling noise is occurring when accelerating and on cold start. This has been occurring for quite some time.
Rod bearing in the fourth piston is failing and there is an existing TSB for this problem on this year (2015) of Veloster however Hyundai is saying that it doesn't cover this engine model so we are going to be out $7,000 for a new engine. Seems like the engine is the same only difference is the turbo so seems like this model should be part of the TSB as well. The problem has been confirmed by a mechanic at his shop C&C automotive in Fayetteville AR
Three times now my 2015 Veloster has been in the shop for the same issues. Loss of power while driving. They did software update first time. That was a year ago. It has been actiing sluggish since. Then two weeks ago my husband was driving it made a loud noise and the power went to limp mode and engine light came on. Took 4 hours for a tow truck to pick up him and my car. I took it to the shop again, they had it for almost 2 weeks. Told me the spark plugs were bad. They replaced them. That didn't help. Then they said the Catalytic converter was bad. So they replaced that. I picked it up today 4/20/23 at 2:00pm. I then drove 7 miles from the shop and heard a loud noise and the power reduced to 20 MPH I could not go any faster it was in limp mode and I crawled it back to the dealership. I told them I got an extended warranty 3 years ago and I got notified my car would need a new motor. They told me it would take a long time to get a motor and they were sure it was not my motor. I can't afford a tow truck bill again and I can't afford to keep fixing things it may not need they are just guessing. They told me it may take awhile this time because they have no idea what is wrong with it. But it was scary doing 45 mph with speed of traffic and just lose power. My husband was doing 65 MPH when it happened to him. I have babied my car since new and I only have 60,000 miles on it. I hardly have broken it in. I don't know what to do now. I don't want this to happen and have and accident because of it or a fire. I have grandkids in my car with me and I don't feel safe anymore.
We purchased the vehicle in March 2022 and in May 2022 the engine light came on and there was knocking in the engine until finally the engine quit while driving. Upon inspection of the engine it appeared to have blown as there was oil all under the hood. The car was towed and serviced at a Hyundai dealer and I was told it needed a new engine. They put another engine in the car. We got the car back December 31, 2022 with the "new/used" engine and that night the engine overheated and had to be towed back to the dealer that did the repairs costing almost $10K. They repaired the engine again, saying that they put another engine in and we got the car back in late February 2023. April 2023 the car engine light came on again and the car began to smoke. My son had been driving, pulled into our driveway, popped the hood to see why it was smoking and the car then caught fire! My son could have been seriously hurt or even worse! The car has been inspected by our insurance company and is now claiming a total loss. I have since emailed the pictures of the car to the service manager at the dealer where the work was done and he is claiming that he can't tell by the pictures what caused the fire. This is the SECOND engine they put in this car!
At this time failure is unknown. The engine has a knocking noise. There 8s a current recal for the 2015 and 2016 hyundai velosters and im told my car does not qualify because the build date is two days before the recall dates
Have a rod bearing that has worn prematurely, Was told that there are recalls Hyundai Recall 198 for this problem with other vehicles of this same year, make, and model but min was not included. Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 Veloster, 2012 Santa Fe, 2011-2013 Sonata Hybrid, and 2016 Sonata Hybrid vehicles. The connecting rod bearings inside the engine may wear prematurely, which over time can result in engine damage.
check engine light has been coming on and off for over a year, either comes back negative and goes away on its own or i’m told there’s a plethora of problems that need to be fixed. it’s been on now for about a month and i’ve been told again it could be anything. there is a recall on this engine and i was never notified
As I was turning off a main road into my neighborhood at night with little visibility for oncoming traffic, I lost power steering and the car began to shake. I was able to coast into my driveway. As I coasted into my driveway I noticed my engine, battery, and water light illuminated. Upon parking my car, I returned to where I lost my power steering found my damper pulley/crankshaft pulley and the crankshaft bolt in the middle of the street where I lost my power steering. I called the dealership and they took a look at it and are saying the entire engine needs to be replaced.

Hi its burning oil and oil consumption and i send it to the dealer and they confirm and agree that its manufacturer issue and part of recall engine , but they declined to follow the process of oil consumption and engine recall without accepting reason and my car milage 102412 .
I brought in my car to the Irvine Tuttle-Click Hyundai Service location because the recall said my car had a possibility of engine fires, and my car has been with this service location for more than four months because the employees at this location inspected my car and confirmed that it needed to be replaced. There were no issues with my car prior to bringing it to this location and no warning lights were appearing on my dash to alert me of any problems. Now that they claim that they have completed replacing my engine, they are claiming that the alternator on my car is now damaged and needs to be replaced for $535.15, and if I do not replace it my car will not start without a jump start. Before bringing my car into this location there was no problems getting my car to start. The representative I spoke to claimed the part no longer works because the engine is new and the preexisting parts are old so they will most likely be damaged now because they are unable to work with the new engine. Again there were no issues with my car outside of the recall. It was running perfectly with no issues before I brought it to this service center and the only reason I brought it in was because I got the recall notice in the mail. Along with this issue they have had my car for since May 20th and it is now October 1st, because of this new issue they still have my car even though they claim to have completed the recall service. Also throughout the entire four months of my car being at their location they were not communicating with me at all regarding any of the progress with my car. Any communication was from me calling for updates on the services which were met with incomplete answers. Now that they are attempting to charge me for the part that they claim is damaged, the representative I have been working with and the front desk have not been picking up my calls.
Unknown me and my kids got on the highway to go to the mall and it did just fine on the way there but on the way back it lost acceleration my engine light started to blink off and on and then we started to hear a knocking noise when I stopped I cut it off and then restarted it and the knocking got loud apond starting it and then when I push on the gas it knocked hard seems like

ENGINE LOCKED AND STARTER WAS FIRE BURNING WITH NO PREVIOUS ISSUES
The engine in my 15 Veloster is going out at only 140,00 miles despite tedious care and up keep. I've had a issue of rough idling, loss of power to the engine including a back fire. The engine makes a distinct ticking noise when the accelerator is pushed down. I have paperwork from a mechanic that reports these problems and them looking at it. They told me to take it to the dealership. I took it to a Bachman Hyundai and they said it definitely had connecting rod bearings issues. They were surprised it wasn't under recall. As was I when I saw online from multiple sources, that "2015-2016 Veloster, 2012 Santa Fe, 2011-2013 Sonata Hybrid, and 2016 Sonata Hybrid vehicle" had this recall. My VIN is not applied to this recall however. I have contacted Hyundai Customer care and they refuse to give me a explanation of this reasoning. I asked if they were made in different plants. He gave me no straight forward response, and declined my request to speak with a supervisor with more information. The dealership will not replace the engine, and I will not pay over 6,000 to replace a engine that "can increase the risk of a fire or it can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash." Power loss engine stalling flashing check engine light won’t accelerate
I turned my car on after work and saw my check engine light turn on I went to autozone to have it checked and they gave me a paper stating it was P0441 engine code. Which has something to do with an incorrect purge flow and is harmful to you and eats away at your gas mileage. Don’t know if this is a safety issue.
My 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo had no open recalls. On 12/26/21, while stopped at a light, the car stalled, then started smoking, and caught fire almost instantly. There are known fire issues for similar models for which there are open recalls, but my car was not a part of these recalls.
MY CAR IS CHANGING GEARS WHILE IM DRIVING- I WILL APPEAR TO LOSE IMMEDIATE POWER TO THE VEHICLE ONLY TO SEE THAT THE CAR THAT WAS IN DRIVE, GOING 65 MILES PER HOUR, DROPS DOWN TO 20 IN SECONDS AND IS NOW IN 2ND GEAR OR NEUTRAL ! OTHER ISSUES- PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE FROM PARK AND IT JUMPS TO NEUTRAL- PUT CAR IN DRIVE- STAYS IN DRIVE POSITION BUT SATYS IN NEUTRAL - PUT THE CAR IN PARK BUT CAR THINKS ITS IN REVERSE - BLEW A PISTON AT 65000 MILES - HYUNDAI REFUSED TO HELP ME FOR 5 MONTHS - TRIED TO SELL ME A NEW ENGINE -- THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENNG FOR 2 YEARS - I WILL LIST THE LATEST EVENT BELOW
Hyundai has not completed a recall (20V746000) for my 2015 Veloster. I first contacted a local Hyundai dealership (Torpedo Gruppe) in Germany on 11 Aug 2021. After they told me they don't know anything about the recall, I contacted Hyundai America on 20 August. After working with a Case Manager (case #[XXX]) they put me in touch with a manager at Torpedo Gruppe on 18 Sep. I talked with the manager ([XXX]) the next day and dropped my vehicle off on 8 Oct, earliest appointment. After three weeks on 29 Oct I was informed that they would not be able to complete the recall for me. I called Hyundai America back up and had to open a new case (case #[XXX]). I am in the military stationed overseas in Germany at Ramstein Air Base. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
My 2015 Veloster Reflex has been at Alan Jackson, Jackson TN. for 45 days. The vehicle was serviced there for campaigns/recalls. The primary complaint, engine failure while I was driving down Highway 70, the engine completely shut off, a defective engine, a product which Hyundai is at fault. The defective engine is consuming 1 quart of oil per 80 miles. I asked the service department to start the oil consumption test, Brian the lead technician, responded "You need a new engine." This safety hazard and economic burden has yet to be resolved. The Veloster is kept and maintained in immaculate condition. While the vehicle is only garage kept, it is now in the elements without protection, remaining on the lot of the service department for over 45 days, which is not in good faith a suitable resolution period. I commute 100 miles round trip for my profession as a University Professor in Microbiology for the University of Tennessee. My 2015 Veloster Reflex is my primary mode of transportation to various satellite and main campus obligatory profession duties. I am without transportation due to Hyundai's negalence in properly addressing these chief safety hazardous engine failures/massive oil (synthetic) consumption which is now blowing through my catalytic converter, exiting through my exhaust tips, turning them black and splattering oil along my rear bumper. The original case manager, Jose, failed to respond to this safety hazard in the 10 business days which Hyundai has set forth, as well as, when Jose would tried to be reached on my behalf, Jose was never available, in addition too, his voicemail was always full, which meant I could not leave a message. Again, is this how Hyundai's customer care is really showing through their actions that they do care?
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving 50 MPH, the check engine light was illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The interior cabin of the vehicle was vibrating when the contact pulled over. Knocking sounds were heard then the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the vehicle would not exceed 10 - 15 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the connecting rod bearings inside the engine were worn prematurely, resulting in engine damage. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and was taken to an independent mechanic where it remained. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V746000 (Engine). The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

The car began stalling while driving. Took to the Hyundai Dealer in Idaho Falls, ID and they changed spark plugs, did not repair the car, the coils, did not repair the car. Next, the car began vibrating and underpowered with the check engine light flashing. Made it to the dealership only to find out the motor suffered internal failure and is irreparable. This fits the exact description of the engine recalls that have impacted the other Veloster models. My car has been serviced regularly, with records of oil changes, tire rotations, and is currently in immaculate condition. The dealership has indicated that it will cost $8,000 to put in an engine from the salvage yard. I am certain that I am victim to the faulty engine.
I was driving on the highway and my car started stalling causing me to pull over and hasn't started since.
Bearing broke which lead to engine failure. I will have to be buying a new engine and turbo. Car stalled in the middle of a busy road. There were no prior indicators of a problem. All maintenance was up to date as well.
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Veloster. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light was flashing. Additionally, there was a knocking sound coming from the engine before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the catalytic converter was faulty which was replaced and that there was insufficient oil in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.

I HAVE REPORTED AN ISSUE TO RONNIE FREEZE, SERVICE MANAGER AT O. B. , MS. HYUNDAI IN APRIL 2015. LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. I HAD ENGINE AND STARTING FAILURE FOR 15-25 MINUTES AFTER A CHECK SENSOR CODE POPPED UP. I GAVE THIS CODE TO SERVICE, AND ALL THEY COULD SAY WAS, 'WELL, I NEVER HEARD OF THAT'. LET ME KNOW IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AND IT DID, AND I REPORTED IT, AND... NOTHING. SAME OLD THING, DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT COULD BE. WELL AFTER THE THIRD TIME, I BEGAN TO FEEL THE CAR RUNNING STILL EVEN WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED. SOUNDS CRAZY BUT I HAD MULTIPLE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WITNESSED THIS ISSUE. SCARY THAT I REPORTED THIS ALSO, BUT NOBODY KNEW ANYTHING TO DO. MR. FREEZE AT OLIVE BRANCH HYUNDAI ACTED LIKE I WAS CRAZY. I KNOW WHEN THERE IS AN ISSUE AND I SAY THAT I HAVE HAD ONE SINCE I SIGNED PAPERS ON 01/23/2015. I AM EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT A FIRE HASN'T STARTED WITH MY VEHICLE APPARENTLY NOT COMPLETELY SHUTTING DOWN. I FEEL THAT SOMEONE HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE CURRENT SITUATION WITH THE ENGINE AND I ALSO FEEL THAT I PURCHASED A LEMON THIS TIME WITH HYUNDAI. I LOVE MY CAR AND TRULY HATE THE FEELING OF NOT KNOWING IF I WILL BE SAFE THE NEXT TIME I GET IN MY VEHICLE TO DRIVE ANYWHERE. I FEEL THAT A SATISFACTORY RESPONSE IS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY FROM HYUNDAI AS TO WHAT I SHOULD EXPECT FROM THEM. I NEED ANSWERS RIGHT AWAY. IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG OR HYUNDAI TO DECIDE WHAT THE SOLUTION WILL BE. I NEED A RESPONSE FROM THE COMPANY NOW! I NO LONGER PUT 100% TRUST IN HYUNDAI. WHAT COULD THE RECALL COVER? A REPLACEMENT ENGINE, AND REPLACEMENT ROD BEARINGS, AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DAMAGED? I FEEL LIKE HYUNDAI HAS FAILED MAJOR BY NOT DOING ANYTHING TO REMEDY THE DEFECT IN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME!! I DON'T HAVE A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE ANYWHERE NOW. I WANT ANSWERS.

CAR TURNED COMPLETELY OFF AND STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE ENGINE IS BAD ON THE CAR. I SENT IT TO HYUNDAI WHERE THEY TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY 6000 FOR A ENGINE, EVEN THOUGH A RECALL IS ON THE CAR

WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 30 IN LITTLE ROCK ARKANSAS GOING ABOUT 70 I PUT THE CAR IN CRUISE CONTROL AS WERE APPROACH A HILL THE CAR SHOT UP TO 6000 RPM AND WOULD NOT SHIFT, I HAD TO TAKE CRUISE CONTROL OFF AND USE MANUAL DRIVE. I THOUGHT IT WAS POSSIBLY JUST A FLUKE ACCIDENT BUT THIS PROBLEM CONTINUED AND EVENTUALLY WHEN I PUT MY CAR AND DRIVE IT WON'T GO IT TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO TAKE OFF AND WHEN IT DOES TAKE OFF IT JERKS INTO GEAR .. I HAS BEEN RUNNING ROUGH AND FEELS LIKE IT MISSING.. THEN ON THE INTERSTATE 67 /167 I WAS TRYING TOP ACCELERATE AND THE CAR STALLED FOR A GOOD MOMENT, ENOUGH TO SCARE ME TO I HAD TO PULL OFF ABRUPTLY..

I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY ENGINE. FOUND OUT THE ROD BEARING WAS GONE. CALL HYUNDAI AND POWER TRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRE WEEKS BEFORE IT HAPPENED. HAD TO SWAP ENGINES ON THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS BAD. ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE BURNING OIL REALLY BAD. I ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION GEARS DROPPING OUT OF NO WERE. LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WHEN I WHEN TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND SHIFT IT INTO 2ND GEAR AND WHEN IT SHIFT TO 3RD IT DROP TO 1. THANKFULLY THERE WASN'T ANY OTHER CAR BEHIND ME. IT WOULD OF DEFINITELY COST AN ACCIDENT AND HAD MY 1 YEAR OLD WITH ME. I TALK TO HYUNDAI AND TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO MUCH ABOUT IT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT ANYONE ELSE WITH SAME ISSUES.

DRIVING ON MAJOR HIGHWAY, CAR LOST POWER. STEPPING ON THE GAS WOULD NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO MOVE. CAR IS NO LONGER ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. WE ARE BEING TOLD THE ENGINE IS BAD AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE ONLY DETAIL IS THERE IS A NOISE. THIS IS SIMILAR TO THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE EARLIER YEAR VEHICLES. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND LUCKILY NOBODY WAS INJURED AND THERE WAS NO CRASH OR FIRE. IT HAS TAKEN 4 DAYS TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC FROM HYUNDAI. THEY WILL NOT AUTHORIZE A RENTAL UNTIL WARRANTY WORK IS AUTHORIZED BY HYUNDAI, WHICH COULD TAKE ANOTHER THREE TO FOUR DAYS. CONSIDERING THE SERVICE DEPT IS TRYING TO GO THROUGH HYUNDAI FOR WARRANTY INSTEAD OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THERE IS SOMETHING BIGGER THAT THEY ARE NOT BEING TRANSPARENT ABOUT. I REGRET BUYING THIS CAR.
MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER SLOWING DOWN ON THE HWY, I GO TO STEP ON THE GAS AND THE ENGINE HAS NO POWER. I HAVE TO QUICKLY PUT IT IN PARK AND THEN PUT IT DRIVE AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONLY ON THE FREEWAY. NOT AT A FULL STOP. 5 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR.
