The car is sluggish and loses power when it is taking off. It is like it is in slow mode. The other issue is that it uses lots of oil. I even had the dealership to repair the valve cover gasket. It should not use oil at the rate.
The car stall when I'm driving
The "touch screen" in the car has warped from heat and no longer responds to touch. Many features and settings for the car are no longer available. Not sure if it's a safety issue; it would depend on the car model and which settings are managed through the touch screen. Since I can't access the settings, I don't know what features or settings are now inaccessible, so I'm reporting the affected equipment as a precaution.
I have a 2016 Hyundai Veloster turbo and my AC started making a weird noise coming from my AC controller, I opened and my climate control resistor was burned and smelling and I’m worried about my car getting on fire and I seen this is a common problem in velosters
Passenger front door is inoperative from the exterior. It can only be opened from the inside, which is a safety issue if someone is being followed and needs to quickly enter the vehicle. It is the same issue as NHTSA ID Number: 11286381 that was reported 2.5 years ago, but this is now happening to me and there are several reports of this on Hyundai forums.
I was driving my 2016 Hyundai Veloster Turbo when I started to hear a loud knocking sound coming from the engine. At this time I also noticed a decline in power and the check engine light came on. I made an appointment to bring the car to my local Hyundai dealership to have the car looked at. While en route to the dealership, the car suddenly made a loud bang and a profusion of smoke came out of the engine and engulfed the car, inside & out, making it impossible for not only me to see but also limited visibility for the person following me, which was extremely dangerous. I couldn't see or breathe and had to rapidly exit the car on the side of a busy road with no shoulder. The engine completely failed and the car was not drivable. I had the car towed to the Hyundai dealership where they told me the engine had seized and needed to be completely replaced. Although my VIN is not yet included in engine recall 20V746000, my car has the 1.6 liter GDI Gamma engine included in that recall. In addition, the exact chain of events that I experienced have been described by others whose cars are included in the recall which describes connecting rod bearings inside the engine wearing prematurely (creating a knocking sound and reduced engine power), causing engine damage. I am requesting an investigation into this incident as I feel that my car should be included in the recall. It was a very dangerous incident and I don't want others to needlessly experience this same problem, possibly with more harmful consequences.
When I first bought my car it seemed to have some sort of transmission problem because it's a dual clutch I was told they do have problems sometimes when I'm trying to pick up speed it seems like it won't switch gears so it won't pick up speed which is extremely dangerous especially when I'm on the beltway or highway and I've already had Hyundai replace the first transmission because it was faulty now my second transmission is already acting up and it's only been 2 years
I own a 2016 Hyundai Veloster, and the Manual heater control unit only works on certain numbers. I haven’t had it checked out. But I first noticed it when I purchased the car. Sometimes the heater or air will just turn off. I know there was a recall for the same models but for 2015.
The engine light began flashing and it was hard to drive without the car loosing speed like it was stalling out when I pressed the gas it did not get power. It smelled like burnt gas or oil and fumes where coming from under the hood. I have had it for 2 months. When I took it to autozone the code read P1326. I dont understand why other same year make and models are recalled and not this one. I will not be able to drive it because other same make and model recalls say there is potential for fire.

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND TURNED OUT IT'S THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. CAR IS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD, I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING ISSUES LIKE THIS YET
I HAVE HAD 4 HVAC CONTROL HEADS BURN OUT BETWEEN A 2012 VELOSTER AND MY CURRENT 2016 VELOSTER I PURCHASED AFTER THE 2012 WAS TOTALLED. THE PART IS BURNING OUT BECAUSE IT OVERHEATS AND IS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT CAUSES EVEN GREATER DAMAGE AND RISK OF INJURY IN THE FUTURE IF NOT ADDRESSED.

ON 1/12/2020, WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE VEHICLE STALLED OUT AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. WITHIN A MINUTE FIRE ERUPTED FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I WAS GOING ABOUT 30 MILES AN HOUR IN VERY LIGHT TRAFFIC. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THEY DETERMINED ONSITE THAT THE FIRE WAS DUE TO A FUEL LEAK. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. PRIOR TO THIS ON 10/3/2019 I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I THOUGHT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING GAS. THEY INSPECTED THE CAR AND SAID THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY DID NOT IDENTIFY ANY GAS LEAK. WE HAVE CONTACTED THEM SINCE THE FIRE AND THEY ARE DENYING ANY RESPONSIBILITY. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER VEHICLE FIRES REPORTED ON HYUNDAIS.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE AC CONTROL MODULE 2 TIMES ALREADY. THE UNIT BURNS OUT AND MELTS THE PLASTIC CONNECTORS THAT PLUG INTO THE BACK OF THE PANEL. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUE WITHIN THE VELSOTER COMMUNITY. AND HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THE 2013 VELSOTERS. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AS DO TO YOU CAN ONLY BUY THIS PART AT THE DEALER FOR $279.99
THE INTERIOR COLOR COATING ON DASH STARTED PEELING ON DRIVERS SIDE (SMALL SPOT AREA) IN 2017. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR PANEL AND WINDOW BUTTON AREA IS NOW PEELING. CORNCERNED THIS WILL OCCUR THROUGHOUT VEHICLE AND STILL INVESTING IN THIS CAR. TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT, NO REASON FOR PEELING.

RECALL INFORMATION: FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS, I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP REGARDING MY AIR- CONDITIONING. I KNOW IT IS NOT AN AIR-CONDITIONING PROBLEM, BUT THAT OF A REGULATOR OR THERMISTER GOING BAD. WHILE DRIVING,THE AIR CONDITIONING WILL BE FUNCTIONING FINE WITH VERY COLD AIR. THEN AT A RANDOM OR AT INTERMITTENT TIMES WILL START TO BLOW EXTREMELY HOT "OVEN LIKE" AIR. I THEN TURN THE AIR-CONDITIONER OFF. IT WILL THEN AT A LATER TIME BLOW COLD AIR AGAIN. I AM SCARED THE CAR WILL SERIOUSLY OVERHEAT AS THE AIR IS SO INTENTLY HOT. I AM VERY GOOD FRIENDS WITH A MECHANIC THAT WITHIN THE PAST YEAR RETIRED FROM HYUNDAI FOR MOST OF HIS CAREER OF 30 YRS. AND THAT WHAT HE ADVISED ME TO INQUIRE ABOUT THESE PARTS. MY SISTER WITHIN THE PAST YEAR HAS BOUGHT A 2017 TUSCON/ SHE JUST HAD THE SAME EXACT SITUATION I DO WITH HER AIR-CONDITIONING AND THEY HAD A RECALL ON HER THERMISTER RECENTLY. THE THERNISTER WAS CHANGED AND PROBLEM SOLVED. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES. THE RESPONSE WHEN I TAKE MY CAR IN IS THAT NO CODE COMES UP SO WE CAN'T FIX OR CHANGE ANYTHING. THEY STICK A THERMOMETER IN THE AIR VENTS AND SAY ALL IS BLOWING THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE. SO, NOW IT'S OVER 95 DEGREES WITH A HEAT INDEX OVER 100 DEGREES IN NEW ORLEANS AND MY AIR-CONDITIONING WILL BLOW INTERMITTENTLY OVEN HOT AIR. EVEN IF IT IS BLOWING THE HOT AIR, HOW CAN I POSSIBLY DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY TIME IT DOES THIS AND THEN CEASES. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PREDICT. SO I NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT IS THE COURSE OF EVENTS TO GET THIS SITUATION SOLVED AS MY DEALERSHIP IS UNWILLINGLY TO PURSUE ANY TYPE OF RESOLUTION TO MY SITUATION. IMMEDIATELY AFTER ACCIDENT CARBDROVE FINE FOR ABOUT 1 HOIUR AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED TO HESITATE DURING ACCELERATION. CAR WAS IN SHOP FOR ROUGGHLY 22 DAYS AND WHEN CAR CAME OUT OF BODY SHOP CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND TURN OFF FREQUENTLY.

I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT WAS A HOT DAY AND THAT I WAS RUNNING MY AIR CONDITIONER, THAT GLASS CAN "SWELL AND BREAK ON ITS OWN". THE SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME. IT WAS TERRIFYING, I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN SHOT. I WAS COVERED IN GLASS AS WAS MY CAR. IT HAS SINCE BEEN REPLACED, BUT I DRIVE IN FEAR OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE HAS FAILED TO PERFORM MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. TAKE OFF FROM A LIGHT AND ABOUT 3RD GEAR THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE BUT RPMS WILL RISE AND WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO RED LINE, FOOT ON GAS PEDAL BUT NO CORRELATING ACCELERATION, KICKS IN MOMENT LATER WITH A JERK. CAR HAS HAD TWO DCT UPDATES, ONE ENGINE UPDATE ALL HAVE NOT FIXED THE JERK ACCELERATION AND SPORADIC UNABLENESS TO GET VEHICLE GOING BUT RPMS RISE. CAR HAS GOTTEN STUCK IN GEAR WHEN MERGING ONTO FREEWAY, THE CAR HAS HAD ITS RPMS RISE CONTINUOUS TO RED LINE WHILE FOOT WAS ENTIRELY OFF THE GAS PEDAL THEN RPMS FELL AND ACCELERATION FUCNTION RESUMED. NO REAL HELP FROM HYUNDAI AS OF YET OR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF A PROBLEM. ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THEM SINCE 2016. THIS ISSUE HAS ALSO OCCURED ON HIGHWAYS WHILE IN A HIGHER GEAR AS WELL AS INTERSECTIONS AT LOWER GEAR. GEARS SHIFT EFFORLTESSLY AND SMOOTH SOMEDAYS AND ERADICT AND UNRELIABLE OTHER DAYS. ALSO HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE AFTER RED LIGHT RIGHT TURNS THAT COULD CLEARLY BE MADE, HOWEVER WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS STUCK AND WONT ACCELERATE THE RISK OF GETTING HIT OR REAR ENDED IS OF HIGH PROBABLILITY AND CONCERN. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WILL HAPPEN. ISSUE OCCURS SPORADICALLY (AVG COUPLE TIMES A MONTH) SINCE JUNE 2016 WHICH MAKES IT HARD TO DUPLICATE BUT IT OCCURS AND IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE CAR IS NOT FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. PROUD MILITARY FAMILY IN THIS OUR SOLE VEHICLE, WHICH IS NOT GETTING THE ATTENTION IT NEEDS FROM HYUNDAI IN REGARDS TO THIS MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. CANT BELIEVE THEY KEEP SENDING US OFF IN THIS DEATH TRAP SAYING THEY UPDATED IT AND IT SHOULD FIX OUR ISSUE. EVER SINCE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WE HAVE BEEN HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES, RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE STALLING WHEN PULLING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE IS SHIFTING VERY BIZARRE AND MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH FEEL EERIE TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE EVEN FOR SHORT DISTANCES. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AROUND 12-15 TIMES AND EACH TIME LEAVE WITH NO RESOLUTION OR CARE. WE GO TO THE HUMBLE HYUNDAI IN TEXAS. WE HAVE HAD SO MANY SITUATIONS WHERE THEY JUST SEND US HOME, PUT US IN A LOANER WHILE THE CAR STAYS PARKED, ETC. WE HAVE PULLED ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND TRAFFIC HAD TO STOP SO THEY WOULDN'T HIT US, WE HAVE HAD TO PULL OVER AND PUT THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON, WE ALSO HAVE ONE INCIDENT ON FILM. IVE BEEN BATTLING WITH THE DESLERSHIP AT COLLEGE PARK HYUNDAI FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS ABOUT MY CAR NOT READING TO GO INTO REVERSE. THE DEALERSHIP FIXED THE CAR ONCE AND TOLD ME IT WAS FIXED. 2 WEEKS AFTER THE REPAIR THE CAR STARING HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IVE CALLED CORPORATE AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THE SAME EXACT THING. THE ONLY THING THEY TOLD ME WAS TO TRADE IN THE CAR AND PAY A DOWN PAYMENT. RECENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUES FOR THE 2016 TUCSON DCT. MY 2016 VELOSTER TURBO DCT HAS HAD THE IDENTICAL ISSUES, WHICH BEGAN JUST A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR BRAND NEW. IT'S BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP FOR 5 MONTHS NOW, TOTALING OVER 70 DAYS. THERE HAVE BEEN GAS ISSUES - GAS FUMES SMELL OUTSIDE AND INSIDE VEHICLE, LOSING GAS ABNORMALLY FAST WHEN DRIVING, GAS TANK NOT FILLING TO FULL. THE AC RATTLES INTERMITTENTLY AND HAS BLOWN HEAT OFF AND ON. MOST IMPORTANTLY IS THE SAFETY REGARDING THE 7 SPEED DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. IT IS INTERMITTENT, BUT I HAVE CAPTURED IT ON CAMERA THREE TIMES - ONCE PRIOR TO THE TRANSMISSION PARTS BEING REPLACED, AND THEN THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. AND TWICE AFTER THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. JUST LAST FRIDAY, I COULDN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT SEIZED TO SHIFT AND ACCELERATE PROPERLY FIVE TIMES IN A ROW, THE MOST IT HAS EVER HAPPENED. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS PLACED BACK INTO A RENTAL. TODAY, THE DEALERSHIP SAYS "THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG" (THIS HAS BEEN SAID OVER THE COURSE OF 5 MONTHS BECAUSE IT'S INTERMITTENT) AND THEY'RE FORCING ME TO RETURN THE RENTAL - LEAVING ME WITH UNSAFE TRANSPORTATION YET AGAIN. I'VE RISKED MY LIFE FOR MONTHS TRYING TO CAPTURE VIDEO PROOF, AND I HAVE SENT THE VIDEO PROOF TO HYUNDAI - YET THEY ARE STILL MAKING MY RETURN THE RENTAL AND ARE NOT FIXING THE VEHICLE, NOR DO THEY HAVE A FIX FOR IT (ALREADY REPLACED THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION AND COMPUTER!!).
