After purchase, I discovered that the vehicle was sold without a functioning horn, which is federally required safety equipment. I immediately contacted the dealership and Subaru of America to have the defect repaired under the manufacturer’s warranty. Despite repeated requests, Subaru and the dealership refused to repair the defect, which left the vehicle unsafe to operate. A horn is essential for warning other drivers and pedestrians and for safe operation of the vehicle. Selling a vehicle without a functional horn constitutes a serious safety violation. I have documentation supporting my claim, including the warranty agreement, proof of defect, and correspondence showing Subaru’s refusal to repair the horn. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure compliance with federal safety requirements and to prevent potential safety risks to other consumers.
My car has been having electrical problems. First, airbag sensor caused every yellow warning light to go on. Now my infotainment center with maps either goes black or too dark to see all the time. Hyundai has an update for this infotainment center but they cannot update it. It will not update. I am driving relying on maps and all of the sudden it cannot be seen. Very dangerous. I had this happen on the turnpike getting off at an exit and had no idea where to go. There is a Hyundai USA complaint number XXX which has many pages of documents including repair and videos and photos of the problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
See attached document for complaint.
Since purchasing the car (New) I experienced issues with the horn stopped working. The dealer replaced it no charge covered under warranty. Received a notification this is a known issue and will be covered for 120,000 miles 10 years. It should09 be no limits Seems to me this is a safety issue needs to be repaired with quality parts that will not fail. I was told at the dealer ship someone is on their 15th replacement.
Owner brand new since may 2023. Few months later, beginning 2024 one day notice when need to use that horn went off by it own, when to the dealership to service, after wait for about 3-4 week they replaced,. All good until 5-7 months later around October 2024 once again NOT HORN AGAIN!!. Go back to the dealer they refuse to serve because on the Hyundai system it looks like it was made an mileage alterations, No way I buy the vehicle with 50 miles and the only place servicing the car is the same dealer, they went deeper and found that the DMV mistaken put that in the title when I get the new 2024 plate sticker, the DMV found their mistakes to not charge fixed but I have to wait about 4 months to get the title that said" Corrected" when finally get that, the dealership still can't see my car until Hyundai system marker fix, in order to do that I sent everything, is July 2025 and still waiting they fix that for the dealer for second freaking TIME do the replacement of the horn. THE HORN IS A SAFETY FEATURE!!!!! THIS MUST BE A RECALL at this point and they know that because is happening to every car since 2020. Never again I will own a Hyundai,. And still today July 1th 2025 I have NOT WORKING HORN. having the car and the first replacement still both in warranty
Blew horn at someone who cut in front of me, and horn sounded rough, then the same driver cut me off again, blew horn, NO horn. Also, headlight burnout issues. Had to replace the driver's headlight 39 weeks ago. Week or two after that, the left side went out, and about a month later, running bulb went out on passenger side. Well, the headlight just blew again, same day as the horn, just had to replace that again - $25 a pop at Auto Zone! I've read there were horn recalls on the '20-'22 models, just not on the '23...WHY!??? Electrical in windows not working as they should, very slow to stuck halfway up or down...unfortunately the only thing covered in a purchased warranty is electrical screens, radio, GPS, maps, cruise control, etc... And WHY are my headlights always burning out? Electrical issues for sure! There should be a recall on these horns for the 2023 model as well!
Horn not working....again?! This is the 3rd time it has failed on this car. In St Louis, you abdolutely need a horn for all the idiot drivers that dont pay attention.
Horn keeps going out on its own. There’s a recall from 2020 to 2022 Hyundai venues but not for 23 or newer. It’s the same part since 2020.
Horn keeps going out in my 23 Hyundai venue. 3rd time from owning the car since march 2023
Since the purchase date, the vehicle has experienced electrical and mechanical issues. Initial problems with the driver-side keyless entry were resolved, but persistent malfunctioning of the passenger window (and at times, other windows) has not been successfully rectified despite multiple repair attempts. Furthermore, during a recent visit to ALM Hyundai for an incident where the engine sputtered and nearly shut off multiple times, the dealership indicated there was no cause for concern. However, I remain apprehensive as this issue could be related to the ongoing electrical and mechanical problems with the vehicle, even without the presence of a check engine light. A recent inspection revealed an oil leak, which was never previously identified or addressed by ALM Hyundai during routine servicing. These unresolved issues raise serious concerns about the vehicle's safety and reliability. Attempts to Resolve: Despite numerous attempts to contact ALM Hyundai's service department and Hyundai corporate customer service, my concerns have not been adequately addressed. Hyundai's proposed solution of paying two car payments in exchange for waiving my rights to warranty or lemon law claims is unacceptable and fails to acknowledge the ongoing issues with the vehicle. I have requested my complete repair history from Hyundai, but the records provided by ALM Hyundai are incomplete. A Carfax report indicates additional service visits that are not reflected in the dealership's paperwork I received upon request. I have since made numerous attempts requesting my repair records and have failed to receive them. I feel as if there is a possible violation of UTPA and my consumer rights at this point.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Venue. The contact stated that the vehicle was slow to start. The contact was able to start the vehicle and drive. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that rodents had entered the vehicle and chewed the wiring in the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the replacement parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000. The VIN was not available.
Mileage: 2,000
Horn failed in the vehicle at approximately 4400 miles. Serviced by a Hyundai dealership, but had to wait nearly a month for it to be replaced. No warning lights or messages in the vehicle. I found out that the horn was not working after nearly being involved in an accident after being cut off. When I went to activate the horn, no sound came out.
While driving home from a trip , the car suddenly lost power . and engine light came on an then transmission light overheating light came on . I was near a town pulled over and had car towed to nearest Hyundai dealer. after waiting a week they finally looked at the vehicle, and said that mice had eaten the transmission electrical harness. Days later they repaired the damage, their was only 6000 miles on the car, but it was not covered under the warranty because mice had eaten the wirers. After I researched , the vehicle ,I found out the the wiring they used was made with a soy based coating plant based.THis apparently is not the first time this has been reported to the manufacture. To add to my problems they replaced the same wiring harness back into the car. On the bill I received they charged me 398.20 dollars. Also on the bill it states, that any warranties are only guarantied by manf, and hyundai disclaims any responsibility. Hyundai placed these same wring harness back in the vehicle knowing this is a real problem and danger to drivers. They basically are putting an all you can eat buffet for all rodents. This is a dangerous condition where the vehicle could shut down at any time.
